The moment Cloak saw the Machinedramon open it's mouth, the barrel of it's galting gun spinning up like a tongue of molten flame he knew he would not be able to spare himself. He could, however, spare his twin and as the bullets tore through his Night Lance the Dark Knightmon turned and threw the gleaming golden sword that was his sibling with all his might. Even as he felt the sting of the bullets driving home halting his movement as he ducked trying to make of himself a smaller target.
The sword however flew through the air it's form glowing as it shifted once more leaving a Digimon, rather then a blade to land feet first in the snow to the side. "Cloak!" Dagger yelled out in worry as he watched his sibling hunker down under fire, pinned by the Machinedramon's rapid shots.
"Don't worry about me. Press the attack." The Dark Knightmon growled out even as the Duramon turned towards the Machinedramon with fangs bared. Hauling the golden greatsword from his back he tossed it high into the air. The blade splitting into seven swords of light that would fall intent on encircling the Machine Digimon and eviscerating anything within the circle of weapons with the heat of a thousand suns.
"Burn already damn you!" The Duramon snarled out their inability to do more then chip away at it's armor frustrating the golden Digimon beyond belief. Cloak however was far from idle. Once the Machinedramon's gatling fire had ceased the Dark Knightmon would stab his spear deep into the ground letting out a dark pulse into the earth. From the ice and snow would crawl three wraith like digimon their data fizzing and snapping, mere shells of what had once been an Ice Devimon, a Blue Meramon, and an Angemon. Thankfully the Icemon was not among them though the Angemon would find itself rent in two by the Dark Knightmon's spear as he devoured the remnants of it's data. Sending the other two forward to harry the Machinedramon with basic attacks flinging themselves upon him like the undead that they were should the metal monstrosity survive.
In the meantime with the Machinedramon's attention taken off of her once more Cassandra hauled herself and Zaku up over the ledge of the cliff scrambling back onto solid ground
Dagger Uses: - Circle of Swords: Duramon tosses the greatsword from it's back which breaks into seven golden swords which encircle it's opponent and burning with the light of a thousand suns they engulf the enemy within their center purging any corruption from their data and dealing massive damage. Cooldown five turns.
Cloak Uses: - Undead Soldiers: Dark Knightmon plunges his twin spear into the ground as it glows with dark energy summoning three undead wraiths of deceased Digimon to fight for him. The wraiths are limited to normal attacks, but since they no longer live or feel pain are capable of taking quite a bit of damage before the hollow shell of their remaining data fully dissolves. The wraiths last for four turns or until destroyed by enemies or cannibalized by Dark Knightmon to restore ten percent of his health per wraith. Once per thread. Cloak Devours Wraith #3 recovering ten percent of his health. Wraith #1 & Wraith #2 Attack Machinedramon.

Those few seconds of Gatling Barrage felt quite satisfying to finally land against the speedy pair. Armored as Cloak might have been, the continued rain of metal slugs against his armor had to leave a mark - perhaps more than enough to leave an impression that the metal beast was capable of dealing out quite a bit more damage than he was receiving.
All he had to do was listen to Cloak's frustration in the matter, as those seven golden blades fell into place. Clenching his right firing claw, he moved to step forward, out of this encirclement - but at that moment, the holy light radiated out, a harsh heat building up against his armor. The Machinedramon let out an audible growl:
That hurt. Rather than simply lumber his way forward, his injured left arm swung around, knocking the three swords in front of him away, allowing him to stumble right out of their range. Dagger would see the results of his attack immediately, the lower part of his armor super-heated, steam raising as it melted the perma-frost below. In fact, he seemed a little bit slower on his feet, and his melee hand had started to smoke.
But that mattered little: the monster raised his left hand, and opened it, revealing the tip of a high-powered missile! In the next moment, it would fire out, spiraling once in the air before moving to try and crash down on Dagger's position!
The two embodiments of wrath would be left to swipe at his sides - compared to 'Circle of Swords', the beast wasn't overly worried about dealing with those at this very moment.
Machinedramon is damaged by Circle of Swords, marked by burns on his legs and melee claw, as well as hot, glowing metal!
Regardless, the Machinedramon uses 'Artillery 1' in an effort to blast at Dagger from middle-range! He ignores the two zombies once he notices their 'lanky' approach, figuring he could brush them off in a moment.

At the sight of the rocket Duramon once more swung his swords down launching a barrier of light in front of him to intercept it, but it would not be enough as the rocket impacted exploding with concussive force and launching the golden Digimon backwards into the snow. There Dagger lay stunned for a moment his gleaming armor somewhat blackened and his form smoking as he tried to sit up. Feeling as though he'd been punched repeatedly in the face with his ears ringing from the blast unable to hear. The Machinedramon's quick dismissal of Cloak and his attack though would prove to be a critical mistake. While devouring the wraith hadn't fully healed him leaving his form still weeping data from multiple bullet wounds, it had helped close some of the worst of the damage and seeing the red hot armor of the Machinedramon's lower half the Dark Knightmon knew what he needed to do. The term 'strike while the iron is hot' was as much a figurative metaphor in this case as it was a literal one. Spying Cloak leveling his spear Cas grit her teeth in determination from where she sat perched up on the cliff edge. "Now or nothing." She muttered sliding her second antivirus card through the D-arc using her fifth and final card in a last ditch bid for victory. With his weapon glowing white Cloak charged aiming to impale his spear straight through the super heated softened metal of Machinedramon's lower armor.
Dagger Uses: - Catch The Light: Duramon slashes both of his swords down in front of him launching a barrier of light forward to stop a single ultimate level attack or two champion level attacks. Mitigating damage from a Mega level attack. Cooldown two turns.
Cas Uses: VB-26 Card Name: Antivirus
Type: Modify
Rank: Silver
Duration: 3 Posts
Effect: A holy aura surrounds the target Digimon, giving their attacks a purifying effect. Their attacks are stronger against any Virus-type Digimon.
Cloak Uses: - Blood Debt: Dark Knightmon lashes out with his Twin Spear impaling his target upon it's dark point as it drains twenty-five percent of the damage dealt to heal his own wounds. Cooldown three turns

The disparity in power was obvious: had this fight been up to Cloak or Dagger alone, it was unlikely that the fight would have lasted even this long. The defensive monster seemed able to use whatever opening he was given, trading hits with his opponents in such a way that those on the receiving end would fare a lot worse. Case in point, though the Machinedramon's frame was glowing, and body weakened, Duramon was completely dazed for his efforts. All it would take was another click from his Gatling Gun-
- Tch, how persistent could these two be? Hearing the heavy movement of Dark Knightmon's armor, Machinedramon turned his head towards Cloak's direction, to see that glowing spear leveled straight at his flank! The slower Digimon was unable to stop the attack, the lance burying deep into his softened side, data and mechanical pieces pouring out of the now-shattered hull. For the first time, the beast staggered, the mechanical monster pushed off balance by this empowered and opportune strike!
But the Machinedramon was quick to counter, directing his still-cooled cannons over in the Dark Knightmon's direction. This might had been a last-ditch effort for the Machinedramon, but he wasn't going to let this go just yet: a bright red light pulsed in, the energy roaring out towards the soldier!
No need for him to declare it - Machinedramon let forth Giga Cannon!

Dagger was down. Not down for the count, but Cas watched with a tightened jaw and murder in her eyes as the Duramon struggled to sit up. Leaning heavily on his own swords like one would a crutch the golden digimon finally hauled himself to his feet even as his twin went one on one with the Machindramon. It was up to the Dark Knightmon now.
"Come on Cloak." Cas murmured under her breath as she realized her partners play in all this as the Undead Digimon pulled his spear free leaping back in a vain mockery of an attempt to get out of range of the Giga Cannon. However, there was no running from the blast this time. No running because the Dark Knightmon had no intention of avoiding the strike. His attacks might not have been able to pierce the machine Digimon's heavy metal armor without it being super heated, but he bet Machinedramon's own Giga Cannon would be able to.
Playing as if trying to escape Cloak waited till the cannon glowed red, the shot releasing with a thunderous blast towards his position. Waited till escape seemed impossible. Then in a blink of an eye he disappeared...and Machinedramon would find himself staring down his own attack.
Cloak Uses: - Scapegoat: In a blink of an eye Dark Knightmon switches places with any target it has marked via damage within three turns or a willing ally within line of sight leaving them to suffer whatever fate or attack might have befallen the Digimon himself in his place. Cooldown three turns.

Before the Machinedramon could even piece together what happened, the result of Cloak's substitution technique became evident: feeling a sudden shift under his own footing, and a rather jarring and blinding light suddenly rush over his eyes, a loud crack radiated heavily across the battlefield - but not one that was centered over the Machinedramon himself.
No: the 'Giga Cannon' was not a solitary blast, but a continuous beam of energy. The light that scoured the metal monster's vision was the crimson glow of his own Giga Cannon, the continuation of which was still roaring out of his cannon! As such, the mega's blast connected with itself, directly between Cloak and Machinedramon, a heavy explosion roaring out - potentially throwing those two specters back into the dust where they came from.
Like this... well. Shit. The Machinedramon's eyes scanned, claws scraping through the smoke in front. Still feeling his armor sing from the last strike, he was left at a loss of where to strike...
... Though, the first audible word he heard was going to have a missile fired in its direction.
Machinedramon's Giga Cannon collided with itself! A concussive blast radiates in all directions, stunning the Machinedramon, leaving a thick cloud of smoke and steam covering the battlefield.
Machinedramon readies 'Artillery I', aiming to fire at the first Digimon or Target to call out!

The blasts connected. The explosion sending Cloak flying as his vision briefly went black from the concussive force as he was launched backwards and then everything went white. White as snow as he impacted one of said snow banks skidding backwards on his back as he rolled his black armor hissing with heat and dented in some spots. His cape shredded and pooling out around him like a puddle of black blood at the Knight Digimon tried to breath. Forcing air that had been knocked out of him into his battered lungs once more in a muffled wheeze. The smoke at least giving him a minuscule amount of safety. It would not however, last for long.
Dagger however, was in a far better position to take advantage of the opportunity. Closing his eyes the Duramon took a moment to breath. Reaching out with his senses he could feel the low malice of the Machinedramon. The anger. The need to kill and rend. Then concentrating on that feeling glowing energy built up along both his blades. Bringing them down in a slash he launched a shining blue X of energy into the smoke aiming to cleave into the Machinedramon's battered armor.
Exhausted the Dark Knightmon chose to employ more of the shotgun method to his twin's carefully aimed attack. Lifting his spear he spun it, white storm clouds pooling from it as a vortex of light and pain spread about Cloak with him at the eye of the storm. It's effects blinding and damaging anyone caught within it's reach. Leaving his twin to a forced retreat as the storm pierced the smoke.
Dagger Uses: - Know Thy Heart: Duramon can sense evil or hostile intentions directed at itself and it's partners from any within a mile radius. (Passive) - Grasscutter: Duramon lashes out with both it's swords aiming to cleave it's enemy to pieces as it launches a glowing X of energy at it's opponent that can pierce even the strongest of armor. Cooldown two turns.
Cloak Uses: - Treason Vortex: Dark Knightmon spins it's Twin Spear forming a vortex of darkness about itself a 120yards in radius which blinds and damages everyone within range for three turns. Cooldown five turns. - Die On Your Feet: When Dark Knightmons health drops below half of it's maximum his power increases by twenty-five percent increasing to a max of fifty percent when he reaches critical condition allowing him to remain conscious and battle capable until his final destruction. Silence.
The Machinedramon hated silence, especially right now. It meant uncertainty, it meant that he didn't know enough about what was happening around him. Had that last blast thrown those two twins back to rookie, or were they still hiding somewhere in this mix of ice, smoke, and steam? All the mechanical monster could do was stay on the alert, and, unfortunately, strike at anything that moved.
That 'thing that moved', as it turned out, was Dagger's 'Grasscutter'. With the light scattered by the ice storm, such a bright attack was easy enough for the Machinedramon to spot - and by reflex alone, his firing claw moved to face in that direction, the lone missile fired out towards the lustrous slash. Both attacks collided in midair, the force of the missile enough to rend their attacks to nothing more than scattered shrapnel and light. The burst was enough to make the Machinedramon recoil, however, the sudden bloom of light overwhelming his sensors!
Within a few moments, the smoke would have naturally subsided - but Cloak's own attack made it persist, black winds replacing the white, leaving the monster trapped in its roaring winds. His exposed wiring and heated, weakened metal began to spark by the storm alone, as the Machinedramon gave a growl. He needed to make some distance - and thus started to sprint, moving away from the center of the storm!
Log:
Blinded, Machinedramon's 'Artillery I' crashes with 'Grasscutter', further blinding the Machinedramon.
'Treason Vortex' causes the effective smokescreen to persist - unable to see the target, Machinedramon gives a sprint to try and break the attack's encirclement!

Dagger would be the first to exist the darkened storm, but unlike Machinedramon and Dark Knightmon his senses did not rely entirely on sight. Positioning back away from the looming tempest Dagger would charge his attack waiting till the moment the metal Digimon began to clear the darkness before he fired. Launching a beam of piercing light directly at the Machinedramon's weakened lower armor. Which would either strike the Digimon or if Dagger was lucky force it back into the storm once more where it would be gradually worn down by his twins efforts.
Cloak however had little to fear from his own storm as the Dark Knightmon listened for the telltale roar of Machinedramon's treads as they grew more distant. Shifting through the pitch black the Dark Knight Digimon intended to approach the edge of the maelstrom, but not exit it fully. Waiting for Machinedramon to exist as his twin had before launching his own attack. Aiming a Night lance right at his enemies back before he would retreat into the storm once more. Intent on using hit and run tactics to bring down his foe.
Dagger Uses: - Know Thy Heart: Duramon can sense evil or hostile intentions directed at itself and it's partners from any within a mile radius. (Passive) - Twenty Light: Fires a beam attack from its chest, which deals massive damage and carves a '20' mark into the enemy if it lands a direct hit. Cooldown three posts.
Cloak Uses: - Night Lance: Dark Knightmon launches a piercing beam of energy at it's opponent eviscerating everything in it's path leaving nothing, but ash, dust, and destroyed data. Cooldown two turns. - Die On Your Feet: When Dark Knightmons health drops below half of it's maximum his power increases by twenty-five percent increasing to a max of fifty percent when he reaches critical condition allowing him to remain conscious and battle capable until his final destruction. (Passive)
Currently Active for (2) More Turns: - Treason Vortex: Dark Knightmon spins it's Twin Spear forming a vortex of darkness about itself a 120yards in radius which blinds and damages everyone within range for three turns. Cooldown five turns.

Tch - how was this Duramon so darn accurate?! As soon as the Machinedramon breached the smoke, Dagger's attack immediately roared out, the radiant beam shining directly for that wounded armor. His inertia carried him forward enough that he wasn't blown back into the fog - but more importantly, his lower armor gave way, shattering under the intense heat. In quick succession, 'Night Lance' buried itself deep in the hip of the mechanical monster, further shrapnel pouring out into the ground.
It was far from a graceful fall: with its prior momentum, the mega-level machine tumbled forth harshly in the ice and snow, skidding several feet, digging its injured claw in the rock to 'brake' itself to a proper halt. There the beast laid: heated, steaming, and the light dimming from its eyes, the beast turned, and gave a glare over towards the Duramon.
"Tch... I'm not getting paid enough for this shit..."
The tone of his words sounded more 'frustrated' than 'pained or injured' - seriously, what gave? He didn't sound like he wanted to commit further to the fight, but his words also suggested that he felt free to simply waltz on out of here like nothing happened. Not paying any respect to either twin, he would try and simply just do that: stagger back out on his feet, and stumble his way towards the exit of the valley.

"Do you truly think we will be allowing you to go anywhere after you almost killed our Tamer?" Cloak rumbled his voice dark and dripping with menace as power charged up along the edge of his axe as he lashed out at the open air launching a Dimensional Slash at the back of the Machinedramon's legs. Intent on hamstringing and crippling the Digimon to prevent him from escaping.
Dagger had a much more hands-on tactic in mind as the Duramon raced ahead of the machine Digimon sliding to a stop in front of him as he leveled his blade at it's face with a snarl of fangs. "Who sent you and why? Talk or we'll render you down to data and then anything you are or are not getting paid for will simply be a moot point." Dagger threatened with a ragged snarl motioning for Cassandra to continue to keep her distance alongside Zaku. The twins were unwilling to risk the Machinedramon turning desperate and trying to take another potshot at the Tamer.
"Perhaps...." The Dark Knightmon spoke playing off his twin's rage. "If you cooperate our Tamer may be willing to treat you. She is a skilled medic and has worked upon Digimon before. You won't make it far in your condition out here on the tundra. Not without being picked off at least and I doubt your employers will be pleased with you returning empty handed." Cloak wagered his golden eyes hard and grim.

Oh, of course it wouldn't be that simple: the Dark Knight and the Lustrous Blademaster thought it wise to continue pushing their nose into this mess. The metal beast gave a snarl towards Cloak, staggering as a fresh scar lined through the back of his legs.
Of course, preventing his escape made sense - though Dagger's preemptive threatening stance earned little more than a snort from the Machinedramon. "I've no contract any more with my employer. I'll answer - but where you're standing, its no big deal to convert you to a golden sheet of Swiss cheese. My fangs still work, after all."
Cloak was a bit more diplomatic - and with what he knew about the situation, had a reasonable point. It would have been difficult for a machine wounded this far to escape the mountain unscathed. Still, the bit about his employer ran flat: "Hmph. Regardless of the state of this body, I'll be able to part ways with this mountain easier than you'd think." That was a bit of a curious comment - come to think of it, was there even a single bit of pain in this monster's voice?
"But I'm afraid 'who' is a bit tricky. My orders were passed onto me off in Terminus by a Snimon - clearly just a messenger for whatever head honcho there is. Don't know, don't care - all that matters is that they're looking for the stone statue of a lion on this mountain. And that stone's a locator to find it."
The explanation sounded complete - was that really all there was to it? Heck, it almost sounded like the Icemon was on the same mission! "The dead drop for it was going to pay handsomely - but not enough for this level of shit. Now if you'd be so kind as to lower that toothpick?"

"This body?" The Dark Knightmon inquired with a tilt of his head and narrowed eyes realizing likely the same thing his Tamer had in regards to the Machinedramon's injuries. While Mechanical digimon were a bit tougher then most they still felt pain.
"Zaku scan it." Cas whispered to the Monitamon softly as the Digimon in question zeroed in on the Machinedramon silently documenting it with it's sensors for any oddities or instabilities. Dagger for his part seemed reluctant to let their opponent go despite his threat. Though he did take one or two steps back lowering his sword a touch, but making no move to fully step out of it's path.
"Dagger check it's shadow! It could be a Shademon!" The Doctor yelled as she stood her own gaze dropping to the the Machinedramon's feet recalling her own encounters with the incorporeal digimon. Her gaze was quick to scan for any red eyes amidst its shadows or peering out of the dark cracks of the injured mechanical Digimon's armor. The Duramon in turn was quick to lift his sword back up into a defensive position an attack primed should the Machinedramon or whatever might be controlling it try to resist.

Well, it seemed like they took the obvious hook - and at the very least, Cloak and Dagger seemed slightly satisfied with their answer. The tamer's call off in the background, however, simply made the Machinedramon blow a frustrated huff of steam from its nostrils.
"Right. Because something as pitiful as a Shademon could take over something like this." But it seemed they had the wrong idea from the start: as Zaku started his scan in proper, the Machinedramon's power gave the faintest spike, before starting to fade rapidly. Rather than descend into a cloud of red data, though, tight bands - similar in consistency to television static - formed quickly around the body.
It didn't take long for the true 'villain' to appear - though rather than a lower form, or even a figure possessing the main body, there stood a human (X), a greed D-Tector clenched in his left hand. True to his word, though wounded, the human himself had nary a scratch on him.
"If you're all satisfied that I'm not going to be stealing your body," a similar voice came, less 'metallic' than the last, "Then I'll be on my way."

"Yeah let's see you underestimate them when you have to try to stop a train hijacked by a swarm of Shademon with nothing, but your wits and pure spite." Cassandra grouched as she watched the Machinedramon de-evolve or in this case the Spirit user release his form as she tucked Zaku under her arm and activated her Anti-grav device to step off the cliff. Half floating half sliding down the slope of it's face she reached the bottom with little fuss.
"Why is it always Spirit users..." The Doctor huffed out as she reached the ground and approached the group. True to his word though Dagger lowered his sword and stepped aside. While Cloak had little issue with dealing with humans should they be considered a threat the Duramon was a bit less practical than his sibling on such matters.
"Really and you were threatening to eat me!?" The Duramon grouched out squinting down at the man with clear skepticism as his twin let out a soft huff of amusement at Daggers disgruntlement.
"I'm sure you would have given him indigestion." Cloak rumbled out as Cas rolled her blood red eyes skyward as if beseeching patience before settling her crimson gaze back on the now Not-a-Machinedramon.
"I'm not going to bitch at you for taking a job that requires unasked questions and violence. That's a bit too much like the pot calling the kettle black, but maybe find some backup for when jobs go south." Cas spoke up before shifting her gaze to Zaku as she set the little Monitamon down.
"If you would please locate that Icemon under the snow for us Zaku. It's likely high time we dig him out if our opponent is departing." She requested as the little green Digimon nodded his head rapidly.
"On it Oyabun!" He chirped pulling up a ping as Cas let her eyes slide once more to the likely retreating Spirit user.
"Hey! You got a name?" Cas asked with a curious cant of her head, her eyes bright and sharp with calculated curiosity. She'd always held to the Genghis Khan method of recruitment. If you were dangerous enough to hurt her and hers then you were worth knowing.
Zaku Uses: -RADAR: Monitamon scans their surroundings with radar pulses allowing them to detect objects, people, and Digimon as far afield as five miles. The Monitamon may take one post to switch gears allowing it to detect even concealed objects within fifty yards, but to go back to normal Radar it must take another post to change back. However, it gives no other information about their targets beyond their location making it impossible to determine if a ping is a hostile opponent or just someone passing through.
