Valt's 101 Training: Standard Edition [Eito]

Post by ryouta on May 28, 2018 2:15:47 GMT
Currently a Trailmon making the way to the Server Wood. Normally, this sort of distance can be traveled in much faster speed if he was a Grand Locomon, but those glorious days was over. He need to build up his data again from 0. Still, he's not alone. Ilbert felt that his social circle has grown again thanks to a funny meeting with a fellow Trailmon, Tetsu and his partner Eito. At first the two seem to be on a rift, and what the Trailmon and his employers done seem to make the two closer in some way, It made him happy.
However, the reason for them to come here is yet another hurdle for the two to accept. To let Eito learn some form of self defense. Currently, inside the compartment, Valt is rummaging through the various training gadgets that stored in Ryouta's personal compartment for what looked like weighted wristband and ankleband. This is apparently one of things that will be given personally to the youth.
"So wear this on your arm and on your leg, It'll be hard to move, but it'll build stamina. Guess you know that, right? First training is quite simple really. While we're waiting to get there, I want you to just... run from the front to the back, over and over again. Don't forget the warmups!"
Ryouta meanwhile stared at the compartments. Assuming that each of them are around fifteen meters, going back and forth would be around one hundred and fifty meters in total. How would Eito fare?
"...Oh, and... you can take a break if you're tired. There are lot of chairs."

After Tetsu's heavy training, he is glad it is Eito's turn. He waits quietly in the Xros Loader, occasionally humming or making a lame joke. It was fortunate that they had met Ilbert, Valt, and Ryouta. "Time for training, or trailing? Don't trail behind, Eito!" And similar such comments.
Eito, on the other hand, is anxious to begin his training. He has vague ideas on what is in store for him, but nervously awaits the details and the destination where the training will begin. However, it begins even before reaching the destination. He puts on the weights as instructed, and takes off. From one end of the trailmon to the other, back and forth a few times. It wasn't the most impressive showing, though it was far from embarrassing. Eventually he has to stop, winded and slightly overheated. "Maybe... I should... take off my coat..." he exclaims exhaustedly, sitting down.

That was such an awful pun, Valt must admit. That's almost as bad as Papa's. But at the very least he seem to appreciate Eito's performance. He's not shameful, but definitely could use some more training. Quickly, the Vmon undoed the weighted items. "So the thing was these was used to test how good you are with weight dragging you at spots that shouldn't be normal to support these weights. Don't equip it all the time. Just do once in a while to test yourself. It'll mess up with your bone, I guess. And yeah, take off your coat. Anyway, from that little show, I could see that you're quite fit, Eito. So you're not that bad. All we gonna do is to make you learn the fundamental like push up, sit up, a bit of camping too if you're up for it."
"Oh right, we're going to camp, huh?"
"And work, don't forget the work. Anyway, Eito, the plan is to of course train you for a while in basic. Think you have about... err... five days or something? If you have that long, We don't have to do crash course, but if you only have today... welp... Gotta crash course it."
"Are you sure that's wise?"
"Of course not. Anyway, we'll be arriving in the forest in like five minutes. Rest well Eito. Our little training is about to begin! Before you knew it, I'll make you your school top athlete!"
"...Aren't you going a lil bit too fired up there, Valt?"

Eito removes his big blue coat, revealing another layer of blue - a blue sweater vest over a grey long-sleeved shirt. It also reveals his build to be relatively healthy - not muscular or athletic, but also neither malnourished nor flabby. "I did okay then, I guess. Thank you." he wiggles his limbs where the weights were, loosening back up.
"Camping?" Eito was not expecting that, but shrugs nonchalantly. "I guess I'm up for it. Five days Analog World time or Digital World time? That's a pretty important distinction, I feel. If Digital World time, then we're golden. Otherwise, I'd have to return to the Analog World every day to....check in. Unless we have ways of contacting people in the other world."
Eito lies down to rest, preparing himself for the training session. "Top athlete eh? I guess this training has both Analog and Digital World applications. My peers are in for a surprise."

"Yes, camping. You might think you don't need this skill because you got Tetsu, but remember, there are times where you might have to take a rest in small place where Tetsu can't get in before continuing. So, at the very least you need to learn how to make yourself comfortable in the wild. Invest few bits in Infini-Store! I'm sure it'll worth it! Also, it's Digital World. If it's analog world then... well, how to say this... Aniki got responsibility there. He also got job in his family's store, so there you have it. How about this though... we can probably spend like... two weeks in digital world, Digital World time, of course, every week real world time? Like, saturday and sunday?"
"...Ain't that too much?" Ryouta asked. "I felt like a week is already enough. Eito probably have something that he want to do too."
"Hmm, I guess that's true. But either way, just keep up your training on what I'll be teaching you and you'll be fit in no time! Heheh, of course it have both world application!"
Now that they've arrived, Valt was the one who jumped out first, then approached a huge Kuwagamon. As expected, Server Woods seem to always require some trimming. There's just ridiculous amount of trees growing, and they're approaching civilization. If they're not regularly cut down, it's seem they'll overtook the place in no time.
"So, for now, let's leave the work for later. Eito, Let's see how much you can do push up and sit ups!"
"So it ended up being normal thing huh... Well, I'll get to working is that fine with ya, Valt?"
"'s OK, Aniki! Do you need a help?"
"Nah, issok, just focus on the guy for now. Well, Eito," Ryouta slapped the youth's back "good luck. Senpai over here will be cheering for you," he commented, grinning mischievously. Soon, Ryouta seem to follow Kuwagamon to place about a hundred meters away from where Eito and Valt is. They started their logging work.

Eito will have to learn to rest outside the comfort of Tetsu. It was logical to him, yet he still wasn't looking forward to it. The infini-store, however, sounds incredibly useful. "Infini-store? That thing that somehow holds more than it should? I will definitely have to get one of those."
Thank goodness for Digital World time! Eito looks somewhat relieved. "A Digital World week I can definitely handle. But... I would definitely have to see how this goes before making any other plans, and I may have other commitments that I'd have to figure out. But if all goes well..."
The group has arrived at their destination. Giant bugs, infinite trees, hard work... this was definitely a camping site. Eito lets out half a chuckle at Ryouta's mischievous attitude, then waves him off. "Thanks, and good luck on your job."
Eito wishes himself good luck as well, and starts with push-ups. He lowers himself to the ground, then tries to move the entire Digital World beneath him. He then lets it rise back up to meet him, and pushes it away once more. He passes 10 push-ups at a decent pace, though cannot maintain the speed. He manages about 20 push-ups before his slowing down is significant, making it up to 26 before having to stop altogether. "I....don't have... the greatest upper body strength. But gym class does give me something."

While Eito pushupped, Valt counted while reading a book. It's seem to be some form of training book. "Don't worry too much about this Eito," came Ryouta's encouragement "Back when I was new at this I only can do fourty. Sooner or later you'll probably can do sixty in one go But for now don't do it in one go. Try to divide it in two sets. Probably twenty each. Take a break, about sixty seconds between sets. Then you try again!"
"Well, all that Aniki said. Our current goal is to measure your physical capability. By doing this, we'll then make a training menu for ya! Maybe it's worth to invest some form of training gym in one of Tetsu's compartment, eh? Hehe."
"...Seriously, don't make all kid you know into a training addict!" Ryouta scolded. "Ei, Eito! If this guy getting a bit too crazy, tell me! I'll scold him! Seriously, why are you so pumped up?"
"Basically, it's because Master Valt really like to train newbies into someone who could take Digital World. Survival is a skill that's needed, and Master Valt apparently took his role as a mentor seriously. To have people under his wing surviving is the best reward he could ever ask for. That is why I guess," Ilbert supplemented.
The same way when Eito did a sit up, Valt also counted and put the number in on a small piece of paper. "Yeah! Just so you know, our first students are Super Ultimate level now. So I want to keep a good streak of training newbies and get them to be one of the powerhouses!"
Ryouta honestly felt like he just sweatdropped. "...Well, sorry there, Eito... looks like you managed to make Valt fired up. But he means well... I hope."
"How about pull ups next?" Valt told the younger teen. "But for now take a lil bit rest first. I'm sure your arms are sore. Here, drink this. It's a sports drink made by Aniki. The jelly inside should probably make it a bit more interesting to drink!"

After a tiny bit of rest, Eito's sit-ups do about as well as his push-ups. "Getting into shape," he says while recovering, "will definitely be worth it. I'm glad I'm not... too far behind the starting line. Sets...yeah... good idea..."
However, he did not exactly realize how serious Valt was about all this. Is he a professional? If not, he was at least skilled, as Eito learns about his previous students. "Super...ultimate? That sounds impressive. And from the context, I gather that it is, in fact, very impressive." It was also incredibly dangerous for Eito, as Valt seemed way too fired up from it. Hopefully this training will not be the death of him.
Up next was pull-ups. Eito wasn't quite ready, but he takes a deep breath and exhales to center himself. It was time - or not, as Valt gave him a sports drink and told him to rest. He takes a swig of it and... "well...it does make it more interesting, you're right. Hm." Perhaps it wasn't really his thing.

"Oh it'll worth it!" Valt commented, grinning widely. "Even if you're not an athlete, you'll understand the benefit of a fit body."
"You won't give him spartan training, right bud?" Ryouta asked.
"Nope, that's for Digimon, not for human. I'm just giving him standard and a bit harder training style, Probably a bit of simulation, but that's about it. We're not talking about real training with real danger here."
Hearing that, Ryouta exhaled in relief. "Looks like you'll be fine after all. Why don't you tell him the end goal?"
"Ah right, Eito! I'll tell you the end goal of our training. I imagine this will be on a level that you probably will thought that it's impossible at the moment, but I'm planning you to be good enough to be able to run above Tetsu's compartment in case a real danger arise, so you can run from compartment to compartment. Of course this is not something that you can achieve in a week, but this is the end goal of all this training. In order to do that: balance, speed and nimbleness is needed. So you'll have to learn a bit of parkour, balance training and to increase your upper body strength more to pull yourself up and whatnots. So don't worry, it won't be anything extreme."
It's seem that Eito doesn't like the jelly mix. Alright, he'll put that to notes.
"Well, once you're ready, try to climb the tree and hang on the branch, then do pullup. But before that..."
Valt took out several mattresses from Ilbert's compartment and line it below the said branch.
"There, safe to fall in case you're too tired now!"

"A healthy body does lead to a healthy mind and better life," Eito agrees. "You don't have to be an athlete to know that."
Spartan training? Real dangers? Digimon must go through some serious training compared to humans, but it made sense. "So you're not a firm believer in the more literal version of 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' then? That definitely is a relief."
Running from compartment to compartment? Parkour? Eito is definitely not on that level yet. He tries to picture himself able to do these things. Eito the ninja, attacked by dozens of Digimon, weaves in and out between their attacks. He climbs out of the moving Tetsu onto the top, and as a low cliff passes by, he jumps onto it and runs up a wall. He bounces from wall to wall, flinging flaming shuriken...
Dang it, Eito! Focus! He shakes his head clear and listens. "Climb tree... pull-ups... okay." He scales the tree with average difficulty to grab the branch, then starts raising himself up and slowly dropping back into position. He is able to get a few good ones in before dropping onto the mattresses. Truly, he was the pinnacle of average to slightly above average.

On Eito's question, suddenly Valt just looked at him with a funny expression plastered on his face. But what it looked like is definitely like that should be obvious, right?
"Oh believe me," suddenly Ilbert quipped. "He definitely is firm believer of that."
"Yeah, I am. I mean, Aniki's training was literally that. Ever seen D**gon B*ll? Aniki's training was that sort, at least back when I was still a Dracomon. He did that sort of training, real danger and all. Literal lasers shooting at you, you know... But in our case it was shock lasers, so it's less dangerous."
"I DID WHAT!?" Ryouta who in middle of his work stopped almost immediately.
"Yeah, you did that. Except the gravity part, obviously, and with rubber sword to deflect the attacks because you can't fly."
"...I... I..." even the guy apparently was speechless.
"Anyway, Eito, Thing is, everyone have their limit. What would you feel if I suddenly tell you to climb up a cliff with twenty kilos of weight strapped on your body? Impossible, right? If you're as strong as Aniki, you can probably do it, but even so I'm not here to break your spirit, Eito. I'm here to temper it," gently, Valt tapped the youth's chest with his index finger.
"There's no reason for me to break you and tell you to go big or go home. I'm here to teach you survival, not trying to give you hell training. There's just a limit of how much you can bend someone before they break. I'm doing exactly that. I'm bending you, but I'm not letting you break on me. When I saw you the first time back then, you sounded broken. Like... you saw something really nasty. If I do that to you on top of what you experienced back then, then I'm a shitty teacher. I want to be yours and Tetsu's strength, a mentor that could make you improve, not to let you taste despair.."
Ryouta smiled slightly. Yeah, this is better than giving them literal hell. Valt is actually more mature than he think. By now, he seem finished cutting about ten trees.
"Well, then, while we're at it, might as well as to teach my junior something, so you two could benefit more from the time," Ilbert said. "Could you please call out Tetsu, young man?"

Eito's pupils dilate as the rest of him freezes. Shock lasers? Anime training? This wasn't some anime! This was real life! There was no way he could do training like that!
And he wouldn't have to. Eito half-nods in agreement and appreciation. "Thank you very much," he replies with gratitude, "for not throwing me into the deep end of the Sea of Blood with this training. I greatly appreciate that." He looks away, thinking about his complete destruction in his last training. "I... we definitely took some hard blows. Tetsu more literally but..."
Speaking of Tetsu, it was time to let him out. He is beamed out of the Xros-loader, making an exaggerated effort to stretch his 'muscles'. "Gyaaaaaah.... finally out of that! Do you know how cramped it is in there? You fit a whole Trailmon into that little thing, I'm surprised you didn't break it!" He then chuckles and gives a good-natured grin. "I'm just kidding. So... Ilbert, sir, you wish to train me? I'm excited to hear that."

"Hold. That sounded like someone forced you to do that... almost literally?" Valt asked suspiciously. "...I felt like that sort of training will not benefit any of you. I'm a believer of what can't kill you make you stronger, but I'm also logical enough to know that if a training become a trauma for you, repeating the training is only effective as punishment. It's no longer a training at that point."
...What's going on with the kid, Ryouta have no idea, but he decided that it's probably time for the next training. He instinctively know what sort of training that Valt will have in mind. He tossed a particularly small, but strong long. Valt catched it and planted it on the ground firmly.
"I guess next one is balancing. Get up there and raise one of your leg up. Keep your balance as long as you can. For now... let's see... five minutes on each leg should do. I guess no mattress will be needed because it's short enough, right? You're fine with a lil bit of pain, right?"
Well, it's obviously a reasonable training. It's not high at all, just about two stairs steps worth of height.
"Right young man, I'll not exactly 'train' you per se, but I need to know what sort of equipment you have so far. I might also help in suggesting what sort of Digimons that might be useful for your team, if you got me. However! Do not take my counsel as something you must do. Instead, try to find weakness in it, improve it, and choose by your own. Do you understand? Now, tell me what sort of techniques you have."

"No no no," Eito quickly corrects, "nothing like that! I'm still alive, aren't I? The training was nothing like that. It was... the training we went through was necessary." Either way, Eito was glad he wasn't going to have lasers blasted at him or something. His relief was obvious.
The training was to balance on a log. That was a far cry from Super Saiyan exercises. "A little pain? I was expecting pain. This is training. It happens." He steps up onto the log and balances on his left leg in a figure four. For quite a while, he was as still as a statue. He actually had quite admirable balance. In the end, it wasn't balance, but strength, that caused him to fall. He clatters to the ground, more indignant than hurt.
Tetsu talks to his mentor thoughtfully. "I don't have too much unique equipment. I got projectile horns - not rockets or anything, but decent. My mouth is also a secondary steam vent. I can let out a puff of boiling steam. Of course, the most obvious thing I can do is charge recklessly at an enemy. That's pretty effective if they are slow or immobilized, but I'm not dumb enough to rely on something like that. I also have the ability to use the heat and energy from turning while slamming my brakes to make some pretty dangerous sparks. Other than that... I'm a standard model Buffalo."

"...Good, because if that's what happened, you can seriously bet that there'll be an angry Imperialdramon going after those idiots," Valt darkly commented. Few meters off, Ryouta seem to also pissed imagining a situation like that happening to a newbie. His axe stabbed deep into the log that used as chopping platform.
Still, Eito expected pain, that's good. Valt let him do as much as he could. Though, he honestly was very impressed with Eito's balance. At the very least he know that in case he were to run above the train, he'll balance himself easier compared to other untrained person. Although, as he expected, his strength is lacking. He made a mental note to give the boy menu to strengthen his legs too.
Tetsu seem to gain an approval from Ilbert. "That's good. Homing types attacks are very important for us who cannot attack normally. Have you some form of surveillance stuff that could look at your compartments? Might be worthy to invest on it, so you can see if there are trespasser inside your compartment. A PA system would do good too. Ally wise, it might be good to have a mercenary that can scout. I say mercenary because having too specialized teammate would be bad for you in my honest opinion. It's best to cover you in other way... for now, perhaps someone who can act as bodyguard for Eito. Young man," he now directed his attention at Eito "Tell, me, is it possible for you to make a Digimon into armament or something?"
