Continued from (X) (X) (X) (X)In retrospect, maybe trying the 'needle in a haystack' method was a bit too risky for trying to find the center of the signal. Icemon's words before had run true, and though their group had a general idea of the direction they were going laterally, it was becoming increasingly clear that it was near impossible to tell just how high or low the target was - at least, off of just one gem.
That might have been better to know before circling halfway around a single mountain! "Well... what we're looking for is somewhere on this hill, at least." At this point, though, the Icemon was mostly stumped. As much as he could conjure stairs of ice to try and forge their way forward, it seemed quite ill-advised to try and simply press on, on his own. They'd already been at this for a good amount of time - were they really going to have to pull back and regroup?
Well, no - fortunately, that wasn't the case. The very steps that Icemon had made had drawn the attention of at least two others - one of which, on seeing the small Gotsumon, waved as he started to run over! "Oh, finally! I thought I'd never find you out in these hills!" The Frigimon - likely still accompanied by the spirit wielder Amelie, Dorothy the Witchmon, and the tamer, Alice, would stop just a few yards away to catch his breath.
"You're telling me. And you brought Witchmon, too?"
"Oh, c'mon. Do a little better to tell the difference, please." Witchmon, sitting on her broom and floating off the side, merely let out a small glare in the Icemon's direction. But, at the very least, everyone had managed to group up again!
Well - everyone except Baalmon, and as Amelie's and Haru's group would know, Carlos. "But as it stands, we're all here. How about we try and wrap this up?"

You would think that being relatively uninjured wouldn't be affecting a Super Mega level class Digimon terribly much, but the motions of the Rasielmon escorting Witchmon were on the mildly slow side... While not terribly pained, there was a hint of exhaustion to their body, not helped by they working somewhat off the fumes of the miracle that led to their creation. Fortunately, the combined form of two already normally gutsy and determined individuals was more than capable of soldiering forward. Their top priority was to try and assist Witchmon in reuniting with her group... and hopefully perhaps the remainder of the club. Some of the newest entries in the Field Club codex had suggested them meeting opposition, so it should have been likely they'd all regroup.
While she couldn't find heads or tails of Carlos or Dio, Rasielmon breathed a sigh of relief seeing the familiar sights of Alice, Dorothy, and Amelie accompanying a Frigimon. Perhaps also a touch embarrassing as the angelic Digimon seemed to actually pause, a mildly shocked look even on the mask they wore realizing that they were going to need to explain just who they were. While she hoped their form looked identifiably like Tawna's forms that they'd get the relation, it didn't explain why the tamer was seemingly absent right now.
"Oh... Err, well this is awkward. How to explain this...? This is Tawna. Also uh... Haru. Look, its hard to explain... can one of you drop a scan at least on me? I'd do it myself, but you can imagine how difficult that is." the ophanim spoke, as she squatted down to be more eye-level with them, being one of the tallest individuals right now among this little posse. "Is... Wasn't Carlos with you guys? I didn't see him on my end." the Biomerge ended up questioning, at least praying for the tanned man's safety... none of the futures she was looking at on the side seemingly hinting their arrival.
While the other group was conversing (and hopefully to spill valuable information on what this all was about), Rasielmon noticed another somewhat familiar sight... even if they looked (not to mention smelled... why did they smell so demonic?) a bit off. Still, she did at least see the familiar pair of twins in the form of Cloak and Dagger to recognize Cas. "Oh! Doctor Cas! I... Well, this is unexpected. Not how I thought our next meeting would go, but good to meet you again?" the angelic Digimon somewhat dorkily spoke, their four ears twitching slightly as their braided tail seemed to shift slightly amid the snow.... a genuine tone of enthusiasm at meeting a familiar face! A somewhat awkward reunion, but hopefully at least somewhat pleasant.

Alice grumbles slightly, slight discomfort evident in her right leg as she slips out her Digivice from her pockets, the green haired woman briefly pulling down the hood of her puffy winter clothing, hair blowing in the wind slightly. "We just keep meeting up... It's good to see you two... Even if this isn't the best of situations." As she smiles at the towering divine feline with a hopeful tone in her voice, she can tell that this isn't exactly the peak of either constituent's condition, but then again, no one seems to be in perfect shape. "Me and Amelie got ambushed by a Grumblemon with a bad attitude, I assume everyone else was attacked as well... Don't worry, I'll be fine. Dorothy let me borrow this for a bit." Alice floats gently on Dorothy's broom, taking care to not fall off of it, her experience with such a thing only being the bare minimum to use it. She soon uses her Digivice to scan the fusion of both Haru and Tawna, unsure of how such an event could happen, but finding it fascinating. Were this a more casual meet up, she'd already be trying to draw the opulently dressed feline.
On the other hand, the sight of another Witchmon makes Dorothy seem a little surprised, kicking her feet in the snow and rocks a bit. The fact she's got a cheap winter jacket on over her dress is perhaps the easiest way to tell that this is Dorothy and not someone else. "Waaait a minute... Who's this? What are the chances of meetin' another Witchmon...?" Crossing her arms, she decides to explain what happened to Frigimon, given how she was initially mistaken for this Witchmon at first. "Well, whatever. Snowman kinda got me confused for you for a bit, but me 'n my friends helped him, so it's all good. Dumb dirt goblin wouldn't quit until I pushed him right off the edge... What a dork. Then again, I end up dealin' with dorks a lot."
"Well, who else came here to help these Digimon?" Putting her hood back up and putting her Digivice away after the scan, she looks to the unfamiliar trio of... Rather menacing individuals, at least in her eyes. Undeniable veterans of the Digital World, she thinks to herself, but if they are indeed friends of Haru, the three can't be too bad. For now, she decides to leave the group be, but if the woman is a doctor, maybe things are starting to look up. Alice winces at the pain coming from her leg, hoping the injury isn't that dire, given its' origins. "And no, I didn't see anyone else this way... What were your experiences getting here like, anyways?"

"Friends of yours....?" Cassandra inquired with a tilt of her head as she glanced between Frigimon, Icemon, and the other Witchmon. Beside her Cloak and Dagger lingered close. The two ultimate's looking a little worse for wear, but gradually healing as the Doctor's Clinic program did it's work on their injuries.Though the Dark Knightmon was quick to unsheath the axe from his back at the sight of the Rasielmon his twin bristling alongside him at the cat. The pair remembered their last encounter with a Meicoomon and their various evolution all too well to be anything, but wary as an ugly snarl rose from Dagger's throat. The Duramon flashing his teeth threateningly at the biomerge.
The Doctor herself was certainly no less disturbing in appearance where she stood bundled up in a heavy winter coat slitted blood red eyes tinged with a crimson glow peering down at the newcomers with a sort of detached curiosity from behind her snow goggles. Eyes that were all too familiar to Frigimon and the rest of the party who had been traveling previously with a Baalmon companion though the Doctors lower face was mostly obscured by a balaclava her hair a familiar wild shade of blonde pooling out around her face from under her hood where it had come loose from it's tight braid during her fight. At the mention of the names Haru and Tawna however, familiarity sparked in her disconcerting gaze. Reaching out an arm she motioned for Cloak and Dagger to stand down. "Ah acquaintances of ours it seems." Cas murmured nodding her head in greeting to the rather worn looking Rasielmon though her eyes soon strayed to the human girl astride the broom.
"You appear as though you could do with a spot of first aid?" The Doctor suggested as she descended the stairs to join the rest of the group motioning towards the way Alice seemed to be favoring her leg with a flick on her gloved hands. "We haven't been introduced. I am Doctor Cassandra Cross or Dr. Cross or Cas for short. Would you mind if I have a look at your leg?" She questioned even as she introduced herself coming to a stop a short ways from the younger girl as slowly Cloak and Dagger drew closer to the group drawn in alongside their Tamer.
"We took care of a Machinedramon. Apparently the guy was recruited as part of some sort of contest." Dagger spoke though he kept half a wary gold eye on the angelic cat hybrid bristling any time Rasielmon's gaze passed over him. Cloak however appeared to be taking the path of ignoring it till it went away now that Haru and Tawna were confirmed as not a threat.
"We persuaded him that the effort of dealing with us was not worth the pay." Cloak rumbled out darkly, vicious pleasure curling over his words with the sort of black humor that Cas and Dagger had come to associate with the Dark Knightmon's better moods.

Yup, the situation was definitely dire. As the group reached the meeting point, there was no sign of Carlos around, even though Amelie couldn't but help to smile at the sight of the familiar faces. Lest to say, she waved animatedly at the beings approaching as they began converging.
After a quick scan of Rasielmon, that smile widened a bit, even. "Well, way to go, girls! It seems that you have accomplished pretty rare stuff over there. Make sure to not overdo it, though. If it's anything like spirit evolving, I can't imagine how exhausting it can be."
Well, she really could, but preferred to not to, given that Amelie had a fair share of tiredness on top of her shoulders at the moment. Yet, it wasn't time to think about it, was it? Especially since they now had... three unlikely allies, even though not totally unknown ones.
And that made the brunette's smile to remain. "We may not have been formally introduced, but I definitely know you three; it's no more and no less than the Doctor and my favorite pair of lumberjacks! Nice to see you again!"
It was funny, every time Amelie found herself in the Tundra, it was to... take the hits while others did the dirty work, and apparently to cross paths with doctor Cross. "Name's Amelie, by the way! Sorry if we couldn't get properly acquainted back then. Was kinda in a hurry... I think!"
To be honest, that had been so long ago that she didn't even remember the circumstances behind the attack to that Dark Tower. However, that wasn't important at the moment. After shaking her head sadly when Haru+Tawna questioned them about Carlos' whereabouts, Amelie found herself gazing at not-Dorothy the Witchmon.
"I'm all ears. How do we wrap this up?"

Well, hadn't this turned out to be a crowded affair? Even after losing one, what had originally been a gathering of three had turned into one of ten, the whole group finally managing to meet up about halfway up the 'target' mountain. Of course, there were a few loose ends to wrap up, Icemon giving a sigh towards Cassandra's comment.
"Acquaintances. The cold-looking Witchmon and the Frigimon were part of my group... hey, you two managed to gold onto your locators?"
"Yeah, somehow!" From atop her broom, the Witchmon gave a snap, the conjured, ghostly phantom of a cat appearing from thin air. In the chuckling feline's grip, the cat held onto that stone - the same type as the one Icemon had on his person, and Frigimon held hidden in his palm. Unlike before, that yellow color had turned to a much darker orange, suggesting they were closer to the target.
"But really, Frigimon, how could you mistake me for her? Our hair is different, and my cape is blue, for pete's sake!"
"Eh, sorry..." As for Cassandra's comment regarding Alice's leg? "Might be worth a look, honestly, though at least she hasn't been putting weight on it."
But soon enough, Amelie's response to Witchmon held the scene: just how did they wrap this up? "Right - Frigimon, Icemon? Should be a cinch with three." Sliding off her broom, the Witchmon joined her comrades, each briefly holding out their stone - one level with another laterally, and the third held vertically over the first two. Icemon and Frigimon, well, they didn't know too much about it simply from color.
After a few seconds, though, the Witchmon gave a quick nod, and pointed up the cliffside, towards the right. Indeed, right up in that direction was a cave, leading to the mountain.
"Alright, I got this one." With one more fist to the side of the mountain, another set of rough, icy stairs led right to the cavern...
... But wow, was that cave dark. Leading the way and trailing behind the group were Witchmon and her conjured specter, respectively, each holding up a small green orb of light, enough to illuminate the path and the group in a ghastly color. Honestly, none in the group thought that their 'target' would be concealed within a cavern - but then again, no-one really knew what to expect, other than what that statue was supposed to look like.
Eventually, the cave would open up, Witchmon holding an arm out to prevent the rest from simply walking off a sheer drop. Beyond this craggy cliff, in the center of the wide space of the cavern, finally stood the 'goal':Even as a statue, Baihumon's visage was one regal and imposing - and unlike that unseen statue from the Dark Area, signs of damage were minute at best. It still held the quality of a fine carving, only fine cracks running up the ankles and over the tail, as if the weight hadn't been able to support itself over so many years. With its location finally confirmed, Icemon was the first to comment: "So what do you think, then, Witchmon?"
"Hard to say. I'd say its energy's only about fifty percent of what it was - I can see why Luminas was concerned about it. I honestly don't know if, between the three of us, we could properly refresh it..."
"Took you all long enough."
Shoot, they hadn't even noticed: seeing the swordsman off to the side, wounded and leaning against the wall, Frigimon was the first to call out: "Baalmon? What happened, you look like a wreck!"
"Tch. Had the worst of it, I think - had to have some kid and his Impmon bail me out. Well, at least they got off the mountain well enough." Muttering that last part to himself, he stepped up, and asked the obvious.
Well, perhaps not too obvious:
"Got any ideas?"

The twins perk up at the sight of Amelia surprised that she has managed to recognize them despite their evolved forms. The Dark spire felt so very very long ago. Almost like another lifetime in comparison to the here and now. "It's good to see you too though we really need to stop meeting like this." Dagger quipped with a laugh even as Cloak greeted Amelia with a solemn polite nod.
"I hope you have fared well since our last meeting." The Dark Knightmon rumbles out as Cas greets the Spirit user with a wave and a smile of her own before glancing between Witchmon and Alice.
"All right if we're really that close I'll take care of everyone's injuries once we've located the statue. We don't want to risk whoever hired those mercenaries to fight us finding it before we do." The Doctor murmurs, but is quick to dig into her medical kit pulling out a few painkiller pills and passing them to the girl on the broom along with a bottle of water.
"Here take these. It'll help with the swelling. I'll check and see if you've broken anything once we reach the location." Cas explains tugging her balaclava down to give the girl a soft smile. Making it a point to keep her fangs hidden behind her lips lest the gesture become unintentionally frightening, but revealing the faded familiar blue slash mark across her cheek in the process.
"Lets get this over with." Dagger quips the trio moving to follow the rest of the group.
Dagger is quick to whirl on the Baalmon the Witchmon's light casting the virus types figure in an eerie shade of green. Beside him Cloak freezes his breath coming up short and for a single horrifying second the Dark Knightmon fears he's come face to face with his armor form in all it's horrifying glory. The nightmares feeling all too real in those brief moments before the other Digimon speaks shattering the illusion and making himself known as the last and final missing member of the party.
In the blackness the party is blind without the light, but in the darkness the Doctor sees everything in perfect crystal clarity. The world around her seeming to play out in slow motion as she feels her heart stutter to a stop at the sight of the statue. The figure of the tiger like digimon stands across from them wrought in beautiful detail the wear of time having not taken from it it's regal pose.
Destroy The Statue. Destroy The Statue. Destroy The Statue. Destroy The Statue.
Pain lances through the Doctor's head like an icepick driven into the base of her skull as she feels the D-reapers command rip into her mind like molten talons as she takes a staggering step forward in surprise. The agony would stop if she just keep moving forward. She could cross the cliff easy. Rend the statue to little shattered bits of rock with a well placed strike. Cassandra though does not move. She digs her heels in instead gritting her teeth as the voice rages inside her head reaching a crescendo as the Doctor learns the true meaning of the word torture.
DESTROY THE STATUE. DESTROY THE STATUE.
Her vision goes crimson as her muscles convulse in pain her body seizuring under the agony as she feels her knees hit the stone as she doubles over. Her face is wet and for a moment the Doctor thinks that perhaps she is crying, but the teardrops that hit the ground are red Red Red and she realizes belated that it's blood not tears streaming down her face running in rivets from her eyes and nose the ichor tinted a lightly glowing crimson as it spatters and pools beneath her. She can taste iron on her tongue, on her teeth, so much iron Cas thinks she may never get rid of the taste of it as she coughs her lips darkening with every ragged pain filled breath. Distantly she can hear Cloak and Dagger screaming, but their shouts are drowned out by the implacable orders drilling into her head like a baseball bat.
Destroy The Statue.Destroy.The.Statue. DestroyTheStatueDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUE.
The Doctor doesn't feel the arms of her Digimon as Cloak drops to his knees beside her reaching out to scoop up the form of his Tamer the imposing black armored knight cradling her tiny body in his arms like a broken doll. Beside him Dagger panics. "She needs help! Oh sovereign this is bad." The Duramon rushes out crouching beside his twin. "Cas hang on. Just hang on." Dagger sobs leaning close as another series of seizures wrack the Doctor's body her eyes rolling, the whites colored a dark and bloody red from blown vessels, the front of her jacket already staining a dark crimson with her blood as she tries to breath through the agony her fangs nearing biting through her own lip in pain.
DESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUE.DESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUEDESTROYTHESTATUE.DESTROY. THE. STATUE.
"No." Cassandra snarls back the word dripping with every ounce of spite and will that she possesses. Half mad with agony there is nothing left for her, but fight or flight. She cannot run from the pain within her own body so like a rabid cornered dog Cas turns on the entity within her mind. She will destroy it's control. Destroy it's connection....or she will DESTROY herself trying.
Within her something inside the Doctor snaps genetics sparking to life as her dna reacts to the pressure of adaption or death. The familiar red of her iris's bleeds out pupils shifting and changing even as the crimson glow intensifies as Biometal claws it's way across the slash mark on her face cannibalizing the digital code in her genetics. Needing energy. Needing strength. Needing more. Then like white blood cells turning on the weakened and sickly cells, like wolves culling the ill and old of the flock, the virus within Cas's system turned on itself and the voice screaming in her head falls SILENT. The Doctor half turns with shaking limbs in Cloak's grip as she doubled over black sludge like old blood bubbling past her lips as she convulsed emptying the contents of her stomach as the liquid ran like ink from her eyes and nose until nothing was left.
Only one thought remained within the shattered battlefield of the Doctors mind. "Fuck you." She thought with every ounce of hate, every inch of exhaustion she felt in the face of her pyrrhic victory. Then energy spent in a final vicious jab Cassandra knows only darkness.

Post by Haru Toriya and Tawna on Jun 19, 2018 4:13:18 GMT
Amelie seemed quite pleasantly surprised by their form... though they also seemed to understand the most perhaps what their situation was like. This Biomerge perhaps WAS a bit similar to Spirit Digivolution after all, albeit with a living party instead of a Spirit Totem. "I promise, we'll be fine! The crash is going to be hard when we do split... but we're mostly in tact. Provided we do not run into more fights, we should be able to hold out until the end of this." they reassured their fellow club member, giving out a slight giggle to try and reassure them.
Despite the power gap, it was clear from the way ophanim visibly flinched in response to Cloak and Dagger's reactions towards seeing her had genuinely caught them offguard. While the Tawna half of the Biomerge was used to getting mildly-negative reactions, Haru's side was frankly caught off-guard seeing two individuals she had previously considered at least friendly acquaintances act so hostile towards them.
Don't mind them. I know you understand now the reputation my kind has, Haru. Tawna internally spoke, not paying terribly much attention to the DarkKnightmon and Duramon's negative attitudes. At least the doctor intervened before things grew any uglier, though the sting of the harsh reactions still stung Rasielmon partially.
Seemed however they were not the only ones who had to deal with opposition... Cas and her partners against a Machinedramon Spirit Wielder, Alice and Amelie a Grumblemon. Disturbing to see so many individuals so unscrupulous to potentially attempt murder... not to mention hurt their friends! That alone caused Rasielmon's seemingly plucky attitude to waver, a slight sneer coming from the Biomerge hearing the cause of Alice's broken leg. "Good riddance. If we weren't so hard-pressed for time, I'd have strangled out an apology." they somewhat angrily spoke, huffing to themselves. There were more important matters though, like whom was puppeting the circumstances here? The doctor's words frightened her somewhat... a scary unknown even she was unable to gaze at yet. "What I'm worried about is whom would host such a dreadful contest...?"
Nonetheless, it seemed the reasons as to why Crusadermon and friends were so desperate to try and find the group of Champion levels would unfold to them all soon enough... Accompanying the others, the Rasielmon took care to mind her step, occasionally glancing into the futures ahead to discern perhaps potential obstacles.
Amid the darkness of the cave, Rasielmon's cross-shaped pupils were able to gleam through the darkness just fine, though obviously not everyone here was equipped with a pair of oculars that precise. It wouldn't take long however for the venture through the cavern pathway lead to an open chamber... In it's center, a beautifully-carved statue of what was identifiably a Baihumon. Perhaps it has seen better days, but certainly a pretty sight no less.
It wasn't just for show though... The Biomerge was able to feel an immense amount of holiness from the statue. The group who had been so dilligent trying to find the statue were clearly doing some important business here, especially if Luminas was involved... "So this is what you all had came to see...? I can tell it is a holy device of some sort, albeit looks like it has seen better days." Rasielmon briefly quipped, though briefly flinched as she noticed a new individual.
For a moment she had thought it was just Cas, but no... this was very clearly a Digimon, a Baalmon to be specific... though damn if they didn't look awful. Still, it seemed they saw Carlos and Dio! That was a relief... Meant they could focus on the situation at-hand more...
Or at least they would... until Rasielmon began to notice a disturbing amount of futures regarding the doctor... brief glimpses at threads of the overall potential timeline. The way she had been finding this form's ability to see the future was that it was all incredibly uncertain and nothing could outright be relied on as fact... but the amount of futures with the doctor convulsing grotesquely and seemingly screaming bloody murder was of particular interest to the ophanim... but unfortunately too late as it happened not even a mere few seconds later. The doctor's body was practically it seemed tearing itself apart with how horrifically it was reacting, a look of horror appearing on Rasielmon's face as they tried to question just what could possibly have done this to the doctor?
"I-I... I don't know!" she managed to choke out, but unfortunately nothing seemed viable right to fix the ailing doctor, much to perhaps Dagger's own horror. Unfortunately, it seemed the only option they DID have was to let the doctor fight was what was most certainly a losing battle... but from what? Fortunately, this seemed to be the timeline where the blonde-haired partially-demonic doctor won out, though their condition was more than critical. The Biomerge for a moment sighed a breath of relief, though no gurantee that Cas was in the clear here now.
"... She's stable, but exact approximation of her surviving without medical assistance soon... maybe 2%. 13% otherwise." the ophanim rattled some numbers, clearly shaken by the horrific state of the doctor... Another problem that needed to be fixed quick. She gave a glance to Cloak and Dagger, a genuinely sympathetic look on the ophanim's face, clearly trying to show she was no enemy to either. "... I can open a portal to a good friend of our's... another doctor actually. I... I am worried for Cas's safety just as much as you two."

Being given an opportunity to relieve the pain caused by her leg given to her by Cas, the green haired woman smiles, her expression one of relief. "...Thank you, miss Cross. I would have brought some emergency supplies myself if I knew this kind of thing would happen." She looks up to the doctor's face, and the questions only grow as she sees the strange, downright wrong looking scar, something that didn't look like the result of a Digimon or anything from the human world. Throwing away any questions she may have for now, she follows Cross' instructions and takes the pills with the water, slipping the water bottle into her bag after closing it. Even if painkillers don't mend her leg, at least it's better than nothing, the green haired woman thinks to herself while following with the rest of the group. "...She seems rather nice." Alice states to her Digimon partner, the more warmly dressed of the witches seeming a bit more grumpy now. "What's got into you?" "Nothin'. Just feelin' uncomfortable for some reason..." Dorothy shrugs, a slight, uneasy frown on her face. "Maybe it's just the coat. You told me to wear it 'cause I'd get cold 'n the golden cat seems perfectly fine." She grumbles, almost tempted to snatch the broom back from Alice, but she doesn't, knowing just how bad of an idea that is. The green haired woman shrugs, and floats off with the rest of the group, the currently flightless of the two Witchmon following behind. "Come on, we're almost through this. When it's over, we'll both visit an arcade or perhaps even a spa if we're both too exhausted to even think." And with that, she falls silent for now, soon lost in thought.
As the group travels into the cavern, Alice contemplates using her lighter for light, until Dorothy conjures up her own orb of light similar to the other Witchmon's, though hers isn't quite as bright. And as the statue comes into view, the green haired woman takes a moment to just... Stare at it, finding the mere existence of such a thing amazing... And the conversation between the four Digimon who were on this mission very, very full of questions. What was Luminas? Why are they worried about this impossibly large, elaborately designed statue? So many questions, but no answers. Yet. Her deep thoughts are interrupted by one of the most horrific sights she''ll ever witness in her entire life, backing away on the broom and over to Dorothy out of instinct, the less mission focused of the Witchmon pulling down her own hat for a moment so as to not bear witness to it herself. Needless to say, spotting Cas in an extremely grotesque state isn't something she wanted to see.
Alice looks away, but the image of Cas' entire body leaking horrific, faintly glistening red fluid is burned into her brain from the sheer shock of it all, a moment of relief having turned into one of the most nightmarish things she's ever seen. "W-What the HELL!?" She almost shrieks in terror, only being held back by her own Digimon partner, and of course the presence of others. "...Okay. I need answers as to why she's reacting like she's seen a goddamn Shoggoth. Just what the hell is going on..."It's hard for Alice to imagine that something this horrific actually exists, even in a world of digital code fantasy, something so horrific that it rips a person apart from the inside, a plague, an illness of some sort. Is it contagious? Just how bad can it get? With no knowledge of what she's getting herself into, she can't help but wonder why these things are happening. Her heart thumps in her chest, glancing around with her wide eyes as she takes a moment to breathe. "...Alice, chill out. Calm down, ya dork..." Dorothy pulls her hat back up, and sighs herself, her frown larger than before. "Golden Cat's got an idea to fix this." She's honestly not sure what to call Rasielmon, given that she is a hybrid of both Haru and Tawna, both of them at once in a strange way. "...Hope it doesn't get any worse."With a lot to worry about and a lot to take in, the green haired woman takes a moment to collect herself and her thoughts while Dorothy takes charge to some extent, the more aggressive of the two witches looking towards the cliff. "So, we gonna approach that statue? Looks a lil' messed up, if ya ask me... We supposed to, like, fix it or somethin'?"

It was indeed a very lively group; interesting in its own way, even though something felt a bit... off. Maybe Amelie was just getting paranoid about the situation at hand or it was the general exhaustion. Had this whole deal been too easy? Maybe, and it was probably for the best to just ride on the feeling that everything was more or less fine.
"Undoubtedly! Meeting in the Frozen North is probably among my least favorite things to do; next time, we should probably try a beach or something more entertaining! I know for sure I'd appreciate it."
Giving a gentle nod at Cloak's question, the brunette was satisfied with just looking at how the Doctor treated Alice. At least that'd be good enough for now; in due time, her friend would have plenty of time to recover. The current predominant atmosphere wasn't the best, Amy was confident in their ability to finish this pretty quickly, and hopefully set on doing something relaxing, for once. Traversing through a cave hadn't proven to be difficult at all, even if, like when dealing with this kind of things, surprises were expected.
The first one? A really huge and regal statue of a big kitty; given how this had been the thing everyone had been after, it probably was pretty important? Even if to worry the so-called 'Luminas'. The second one, of course, was how a Baalmon appeared from seemingly thin air, and how he proceeded to unveil what had probably been Carlos' whereabouts. To that, Amelie could only ask a simple question.
"Is he alright?"
An answer to that question was going to have to wait, apparently. What began to happen to Cassandra seemed to be outright out of some horror film, with the catch that it was very real. For several seconds, the brunette was frozen in horror as whatever was happening to the blonde just kept... happening. Everyone was panicking, and apparently, that madness had no end in sight.
At least until... it did. How much time had passed, and what kind of agony had the Doctor been subject to? Those were borderline morbid questions to ask at the moment, but given that decidedly more powerful beings were powerless in this situation, that was something that would probably be veiled for a long time; maybe Amy herself wouldn't ever get the answers to the questions her mind was conjuring at the moment.
But... did that matter, at all? One thing was for certain. Cassandra was in no condition to continue with this small expedition, and she needed help. Fast. Steeling herself, the teenager looked at Haru+Tawna, then at Cloak and Dagger.
"You should get her somewhere safe as fast as you can. And try to tend to whatever's currently happening to her." There was a hint of determination on the sea of uncertainty that was Amelie's voice at the moment. "You're the more capable members of our group; I'm sure she'll be safe if you take care of her." Whatever nonsense regarding percentages Rasielmon had spat be damned. Saving a life was probably their highest priority at the moment.
She then gazed at Kitty's statue. "Alice, Dottie and me can take care of whatever needs to be done to this statue. Don't worry about it."
After all, the worst —regarding this quest, at least— had passed. It was probably safe to say that this day not ending in a tragedy was their highest priority.

In the presence of the Baalmon and Baihumon's effigy, it seemed that the group was afforded but a moment to breathe - enough for Haru's comment on the statue to get a nod from the Witchmon. "It's that 'seen better days' part that we need to fix. Don't worry, we've had a plan for this from the start." What that was, Haru might have gotten a hint about it mentally, but nothing 'solid'.
As Amelie addressed the Baalmon, the demon gave a shrug. "Been worse. Been better. I can recover later." As thinly veiled as that 'no' was, he seemed determined at the very least, even as he clutched his chest over that heavy wound. In just a few moments' time, though, that would all fall to the background:
"Ah! What in the actual-"
"Tch - Icemon, couldn't you give one glance at who you brought along?!" Rather than be concerned for the human, as Frigimon looked on in abject horror, Witchmon immediately moved to berate the icy champion! "No matter how much she looks like she's in control, you would bring the D-Reaper to-"
"H-hey! I can't see data like you! Tch..." In a horrific and likely herculean effort, it seemed like Cassandra managed to maintain herself, but just how long could it last? If the 'agent' was desperate enough, would the human's body start moving on its own?
As the others 'spoke' of doing something, Baalmon sighed. "Fine, either the angel pulls her through a portal or we push her through one of our own. Witchmon, you said you had this handled?"
"Well enough, anyway."
Well, this was unsettling: rather than move to help the tamer out, both Frigimon and Icemon stood in front of Cassandra, a fair distance away - not for her benefit, but for the fact that they couldn't let her do anything to the statue at hand! Witchmon and Baalmon, a few feet up, simply gave a nod to each-other.
The sword in the knight's hand, and the cat trailing at Witchmon's fingers, with a small cackle, both gave a flash, and turned into a sizeable amount of fractal code. Both extended an arm outwards, the code itself snaking forth, wrapping around the lion - its visage soon sinking beneath several bands of staticky data.
"... Won't just settle in, will it?"
"H-hey, you're a spirit wielder, right?" Frigimon called over her shoulder to Amelie: "You think you and Dorothy could help settle that code into place?"
Indeed, it was something that could be done with a D-Tector: the data right now simply 'wrapped' around the lion in several loose bands, the loose data trying but failing to 'adhere' itself to the statue. Witchmon herself stumbled in place from the effort, Baalmon taking a knee - just how much data did they end up loaning?

"Open the Portal." Cloak growls out as he turns to face Rasielmon bone deep fury leaving the Dark Knightmon's shoulders shaking as he watches the expedition party and even their own allies draw back. Edging away from the injured Doctor in her time of need as he grips his Tamer a little tighter in his effort not to draw his axe. Anger is easier to feel than betrayal.
"Cloak I'm sure they don't mean..." Dagger began as he reached out towards his twin hoping to soften the blow of the Baalmon and Witchmon's words, hoping to soften Icemon's abandonment. There is no softening the murder in Cloak's eyes. Even as Dagger flinches at the implied threat to their Tamer from the other demon digimon. Yet in the face of saving the statue. Saving the Digital world...
"No. They mean exactly what they say." The Dark Knightmon snarls out silencing his twin even as he turns his back on the group. "If you care at all about her life open a portal or I will open my own." Cloak orders uncaring that it is a super mega he faces. Uncaring that such words could mean death in the face of Cas's life slipping away. Should Rasielmon open a portal Cloak would move to enter it. Should they not then he would use his Tamer's D-terminal to activate their own. Pausing at the threshold the Dark Knight Digimon cast a glance towards his twin.
"Are you coming?" He asked even as Dagger hesitated his eyes sliding between the statue and the infected woman in his siblings arms.
"Fine then stay. Run back to Luminas. You were always good at running." Cloak snarls striding into the portal with purpose even as it snaps closed behind him before his twin can speak. Can call out. Leaving the Duramon standing alone the look upon his face one of agony and conflict.

Everyone was a bit on the edge with the recent state that Cas was put into, not to mention Witchmon's panic that the woman had almost proved to be a threat... the ophanim flinching at the mention of the D-Reaper, then back to the bleeding, bio-metallicized doctor.
"Oh doctor... what had you done to cause this to happen?" Rasielmon whispered as they shook their head, the pieces of the situation at-hand coming together at least. What had just happened must have been an internal attack of the D-Reaper, though the question remained if it were linked to the statuette...? Amelie and even Dorothy's words reminded her that there was the pressing matter of getting the doctor medical help ASAP.
She sincerely wished Dorothy's belief that they had a plan were true.
The Biomerge could feel the bloodchilling-venom in Cloak's tongue directed at both her and the remainder of the group, their emerald eyes losing focus as Cloak directed their anger at them all... not even Dagger, whom at least seemed to try and mediate the tension unable to break that rage.
He certainly cares about the doctor... I do not judge. Tawna internally thought, Rasielmon closing her eyes as she frowned... as if debating what action to take.
In the end, with what seemed to be a high mortality rate for the doctor (even if it seemed that as time went on, the chances of survival went up) and the harsh words directed towards her, Rasielmon offered only a nod to the DarkKnightmon as their eyes lighting up as magical glyphs materialized from their claws, a portal with the shakey image of what seemed to be the innards of a large building materializing as the Biomerge struggled to keep it up. There was a lot of interference, plus the distance between the Northern Prominence and the Digital Core was proving to be an expense energy-wise towards getting the portal to stay up. They were visibly starting to strain as Cloak carried the infected woman into the portal, unable to keep it open any longer as she is forced to let it snap shut.
The ophanim briefly shook her arms, they having felt a slight burning sensation that faded quickly after, though the pained look on her face was primarily directed to the mortified Duramon. Empathy was cold and unforgiving, she only able to imagine the anguish they were experiencing right now... Despite being a creature with untold arcane power, she felt so helpless to be able to do anything to help soften the pain. After all, she was just in actuality just a girl and their cat whom both try too hard to be good... Even just witnessing their sorrow felt like a scar directly inflicted on them.
She should have seen this coming.
"... If its consolation, the doctor's chances of survival had been steadily rising on their own. A bit more than double." they tried to assure the golden-blade Digimon, though it was a somewhat empty truth at this point. Whether or not there was hope for Cas was still in the cards. Shaking their head, a sorrowful look formed on their face, one with a clearly human-like quality to it. "... I'm sorry. I wish I could do more, but..." they spoke, stammering slightly.
Amazing how someone capable of glimpsing at the future could feel so helpless controlling it?
Unfortunately, matters regarding Cas were now beyond their control (or perhaps they never were to begin with...?). As much as she wanted to try and reassure Dagger, she needed to wait to see how they handled themselves. "... Come with us at least when we're done, we're all needing to get fixed up probably. The doctor is made of sterner stuff than I would have thought... She'll snap some sense into Cloak I bet when she awakens."
For now, Rasielmon was observing Baalmon and Witchmon attempt patching up the statue, though certainly it seemed was taking a toll on them. The setup was there to make repairs, it just was needing additional help to get the data to be applied to the Baihumon statue. She glanced at Dorothy and Amelie in regards to Frigimon's suggestion, giving a slight smile as she nodded. "Worst comes to worst, I can try as well... Just, give me a moment to catch my breath. This form is.high-maintenance." they spoke, feeling a touch of exhaustion creeping up on them. They REALLY shouldn't have been pushing themselves this far, but neither halve of Rasielmon were willing to settle down until everything was done.

"...I can tell your current form isn't something easy to maintain. You're a fusion of human and Digimon in some sort of..." Alice shakes her head, and shrugs, without any words for what's going on. At this point, she is thoroughly and completely done asking questions, or at least, trying to be. For now, there are far, far more important things to think about, like the statue and the whole... Thing with Cloak, Dagger and Cas. Somehow, that already painful situation turned worse. "...I don't know, but it's definitely not something that would occur naturally. Either way..." She turns her attention to Dagger briefly, unsure of what to even say regarding this situation, so she remains silent, simply finding herself drawing blanks.
As Dorothy watches the other Witchmon and the Baalmon struggle, her expression slowly turns sour. What did the two just do to themselves? Dorothy discards all the questions in her mind, deciding they're not worth it, and begins to speak. "What do me 'n Amelie need to do? I get the feelin' this is pretty urgent, so just tell me 'n we'll get this over with..." Growing more and more impatient, she looks to Amelie, and then to Alice, trying to grin despite the circumstances. "Hey, chin up, Greeny. We're gonna be heroes or somethin' if this works."
"I get that, but this is a lot to take in. I never thought I'd end up being the kind of person involved in things like this, things that seem... This grand in scale." When Alice finally responds, she floats over to Dorothy on the broom, thinking about giving it back, but deciding to hold on unless needed, trying not to bump into anyone or anything. "Makes me wish I could do more than just sit back and watch you do all the heavy lifting, but... I guess that's not something I should really talk about right now."
"Hey, me neither when it comes to doin' stuff as big 'n mighty as this, but ya don't hear me talkin' about it like that." Dorothy takes a moment to just laugh, cackling slightly at Alice's thoughts and finding them utterly ridiculous, but a fun thing to just imagine. "You gotta help keep everyone thinkin' clear 'cause that's what you're best at. You do you, all right? Just... Lemme get my broom back if I need it."
The green haired woman takes a deep breath, and sighs in agreement. Even if she barely understands the current situation, getting worked up won't help anyone. "Just give me a brief rundown on what we need to to..." She then spins around a bit, hoping that everyone is ready to do what they need, or at least on the same page.

All in all, even if what had happened to Cassandra had been, in every sense of the word, a tragedy, that had been a real risk the situation at hand had, That was what the Digital World was about, right? Risk and reward; giving something away for a hypothetical advantage.
Yet... if that was so obvious, why was Amelie struggling to focus on the matter at hand and was instead terribly worried about the Doctor's well being? That being piled up on how Carlos was faring was making a small number on the brunette's psyche.
She exhaled briefly as the Dark Knightmon's imposing figure exited through the portal carrying the unconscious blonde, the gave a long stare at the remaining beings near the statue. While Haru+Tawna wasn't doing the best of jobs at damage control, at least the intention was what counted, didn't it?
However, that wasn't important for now, given the question Frigimon had asked them. "Repare... fractal code, huh? I'm not an expert at it, but I can definitely try. Never done it with a digimon, though. How those are supposed to help?"
The teenager tried to concentrate, and that probably made her ignore most of the chatter that went around; she brought out her D-Tector and slowly, but surely began to work on the fractal code with as much care as she could muster.
With any luck, she wouldn't do an horrible mistake or something.
