The Great Binary Archipelago All Out Race [Kath/Amy][Career]

It was likely everyone felt Joy Island was some kind of giant batch in their way. If the plan was to make this island and the fog of war annoying, they definitely had accomplished. In any case, that batch seemed to have been surpassed and everything seemed to be moving now. Everything.
Due to the strength of the wave, the boat got a little shaken, but it managed to overall sustain the attack, thanks to the shield deployed. Liquid couldn’t help but worry a bit about Amelie, but right now they had move. It was just a matter of time before Jumbogamemon got freed from the ink or recovered his canons. Or so Liquid thought.
The only thing that was able to reach the Beer Flag Team’s boat was the sound of a groan of pain coming from behind them. It was huge, deafening. “Jumbo…gamemon?” The Candlemon muttered. What the hell just occurred behind them? It was scary to think what could have taken that monster out.
In any case, their next objective was set. They were finally going to the frontal side of the Joy Island. Of course, they had to pick two members of their team on the way there.
“I think you’re right, Sophia.” Still pleasantly surprised at the fact of being able to see again, Delu held a smile on his face, looking at the race develop through the screens. “Look! Jazz has the flag and Beer Flag Team is making a run for it!”
And the Delumon was right, both Jazz and Katherine had now started running through the jungle’s thicket. The teenager was rather surprised about the outcome of this plan and how well it had worked out. However, she was not going to question it. They had one of those beautiful purple flags in their hands and now they had to meet up with the rest of the squad.
“Ooi! We've got a flag!" Boy, did giving that declaration felt good. "If I’m not mistaken, we’re heading to the northern side of the island. We should meet Liquid and Amy there!” Just upon finishing this statement, the curly-haired would notice something that definitely raised her attention. “Also…” She added, looking for the right words to explain this. “I think... the more we move forward, the fog seems to be… disappearing.” Their vision of what was up ahead was much clearer now.
“It’s finally happening Sofia! The Fog of War is finally leaving Joy Island behind and keeps its way towards the now finish line.” Delu explained. “This fog started moving since the race began, so it is likely our participants are going to find it again when they’re about to get to the finish line.”
Regarding the layout of the island, a huge tremor had begun. It was strong enough to make Katherine stumble, so Jazz immediately picked the green-eyed up and placed her on her shoulder. “We can’t stop now, Jasso! Shisei is waiting for us!”
For the announcers, the clearance of the scenario had revealed a set of surprises. One of those was a set of three Gamemon and a Gawapamon floating on the eastern waters of Joy Island, seemingly unconscious. They seemed to had been recently taken out. Not too far for them, Ruka was also floating on the water, completely knocked out. Moving forward, not too far behind Liquid and Amelie’s boat, A Team’s Ebidramon was swimming above water.
“Look, Sophia! That’s the entire Spinning Record’s team and Ruka from Seduction team!” The bird’s eyes widened as soon as he saw the digimon moving not too far from them. “It can’t be! Could they both have been taken out from A Team’s Ebidramon!? How’s that even possible!?”
Now that it was waving off, the fog had also revealed some other defeated digimon, this time laying on the ground of Joy Island. Dazzling Star’s Toucamons and Ricky’s Crewmate’s Agumons were some of these.
“This is unbelievable Sophia! I had never seen some many bodies laying around! Right now, other than TOXIC Team who’s already pretty far away, the only teams I can see standing are A-Team and Beer Flag! Do you manage to see anyone else? What happened to everyone!?” Delu then stared silently at one of the screens. "Is the ground... shaking!?"
Meanwhile, Katherine was just being carried around by her partner. The ground hadn't stopped trembling. “Ooi, the whole island is trembling! Do you have any idea of what’s going on?” They could now see the sea in the distance. “I think we’re about to get to the shore, please let Amy and Liquid know we’re ready to be picked up!”

All's well that ends well. Even from her position in the boat, Amelie began to slowly take a sitting position, becoming more and more aware of her surroundings. The brunette had done... a good job, hadn't she? That engagement couldn't have been more exhausting even if she tried to make it so! Luckily, both Liquid and her were out of danger now.
Were... they? Apparently, the duo haven't heard the last from JumboGamemon... or had they? This was so puzzling, but the bottom line was a deafening groan of pain and no further attacks coming in the group's way.
"Are we... are we safe, Liquid?" Even the brunette's voice sounded somewhat doubtful of that statement. But at least, for now... they seemed safe. "Let's hurry up before more strange things happen. Time to pick up Katherine and Jazz and get out of Joy once and for all."
The teenager had never been to Joy Island itself; yet quite honestly... didn't want to return to this place ever again. This whole endeavor had been a hassle. Quite obviously, the beautiful Sofia seemed to be more than slightly miffed at Delu mispronouncing her name. Could his fellow commentator be that forgetful? Seems like it!
However, she wasn't going to let that turn of events ruin the mood, especially now that they got to be actual commentators again! "That's right, Delu~. It seems like Beer Flag was one of the few teams that managed to get Joy Island's flags. Over and over again, they've shown that they're quite competent! And just in time for the fog of war to begin moving towards its next destination. How will the other participants react to such development? We can only guess!"
The bird was right that part of his analysis, though; the number of disqualifications due to battles in this edition of the race was nothing short of unprecedented. "Wonder if that has to do with A Team's tactics, or just edition of the race just being that ruthless, Delu~! If anything, we'll find out on the next stage!" On both accounts, the tremors and TOXIC being so far away from everyone else in the competition were astounding events, that was for sure. "Wonder what's originating those tremors... Maybe a member from a team? Or the islands' natural phenomena? Stay tuned to find out!"
Meanwhile, Ooi had dutifully transmitted the messages, and now was alert in case something unexpected was up. "Amy and Liquid should be pretty close! With some luck, they should be waiting by the shore by the time you reach it. Let's hope for the best." After a sharp breath, she began to look around, yet, the teenager ultimately sighed at the strange events. "I have no idea why this place's trembling, but... be alert! We don't know what may be up."
Could those tremors be related to the cause why JumboGamemon had stopped harassing Beer Flag. If so, they couldn't be that bad, right?

A mixture of relief and fear. That was the only way Liquid could describe this sensation. On one side, the fog seemed to be dispersing, which was definitely good. On the other…
“Amy-sis…” The candle shifted his gaze to his partner for a second. The blue-eyed seemed to be slowly recovering from everything that had just transpired. “I think we are. At least for now.” What in the world could have made a Mega digimon scream like that? “Y-Yes!” He abided to Amelie’s words.
“Ooi-sis, do you have any sight on Spinning Records team? What happened to them?” He inquired about that Jumbogamemo’s situation, while the boat approached the shore. They didn’t even have to wait, Liquid's eyes immediately caught sight of both Katherine and Jazz (?) coming out of the thicket. After some seconds of looking around, the raven-haired teenager spotted them, pointing at them from the shoulder of a pig-girl-digimon.
“There they are!” Katherine yelled from the other side of the beach. Jazz started running their way, even though she would be promptly interrupted by the sensation of the ground moving again, this time it was harder than ever. “Again…!?”
The palms, the sand, even the sea around the island. Everything was trembling with such intensity it was even hard for Jazz to remain standing. “Look!” with her chubby right hand, the Chohakkaimon pointed up, staring back at the jungle. From the center of the island, a giant, truly massive tower was slowly rising. Attached to its peak, a round metallic ball with a counter could be found. The number ‘120’ could be seen all around the sphere, so it basically could be spotted from every side of the island. Even the once sunny sky had turned gloomy and cloudy now.
“Ooi… what’s going on?”
Back at the announcing table, Delu was as confused as everyone else. “W-What is this, Sofia!?” He asked, clearly getting back on track with the correct way of pronouncing his partner's name, even though the situation wasn’t helping for him to concentrate on anything else but this strange scene developing right in front of his eyes. As announcers, they were supposed to be aware of every event taking place during the race. However, the Delumon was completely clueless this time.
“Look!” Once again, the bird pointed at one of the screens. There, a Thunderbirdmon was flying above the jungle of Joy’s Island. The crowd immediately cheered. “It seems like Seduction Team is still alive! But…!” Right behind him, swinging from one branch to another, A Team’s Octomon kept shooting the bird digimon, who barely managed to dodge these attacks. The zeal from the spectators had immediately turned into a wave of booing. The Thunderbirdmon seemed to be trying to gain some height, but he was clearly wounded and having trouble to even remain on the skies.
Definitely, the most interesting part of this scenario for anyone watching would be the fact that Seduction Team’s member had a purple flag on his beak. However, Octomon was holding a purple flag on one of his tentacles too!
“But… why!? Octomon seems to have a flag already, yet he insists in taking Thunderbirdmon out too! Maybe he’s the one responsible for so many wounded teams inside of the island?”
The jungle had reached its end and the Octomon had run out of branches to swing from. Landing on the sand, the octopus glanced at how the Thunderbirdmon reached the skies over the sea and began his escapade in the distance, heading towards Borderland Island. Slowly, the Octomon lifted his gun, aiming at the bird, only to put it down. His eye had caught something else.
“This can’t be good Sofia! Octomon has found them again!”
Right at the shore, Katherine and Jazz were running towards the Beer Flag Team’s boat, getting ready to board. At that time, the group hadn’t noticed they had been spotted from across the beach by the evil Octomon. Luckily, they had a technical supporter looking at the screens, right?
What they had noticed was Ebidramon coming their way, swimming above the sea. The brief stop Amelie and Liquid had taken to pick their partners up had given the aquatic digimon the time to catch up.
Troubles just never ceased to appear, right?
With a beeping sound on each second, the counter on the giant sphere standing over the tower and above the island, started decreasing.
“120… 119… 118…”

Finally, things were going more or less in Beer Flag's favor. The most direct threats to Liquid, Amelie and the boat were no more; not much was left, besides making sure that the craft kept being in one piece, and that Katherine and Jazz had managed to get the flag in time.
Maybe, she would be allowed a moment of respite. Evolving over and over again to a highly taxing form had taken its toll on the brunette, and while she thought she may be able to keep going if absolutely necessary, it was obvious that her performance wouldn't be as good as it's been. A calculated risk, if you will; but if this race has been anything thus far, that has been unpredictable.
For an idle moment, the teenager wondered; would there be any repercussions if she exerted herself over what she perceived as her physical limit? Amy wasn't keen on finding out, but… she wasn't losing this race either. No matter the cost would've sounded a bit romantic, but was definitely untrue. Only time would be able to tell how far the brunette would go for the sake of victory on this endeavor.
On the other side, Ooi scanned the area around to answer Liquid's query. An interesting question, for sure. "They're washed ashore." She responded as soon as she caught a glimpse of the entire team. "Seems like they're out of the race for good. Whatever struck them, it must've been fairly strong, considering everyone is unconscious."
Luckily for the group, Jazz and Katherine weren't all that far away. The true pity was that... well, it was that things wouldn't ever be so easy. The combination of events that would transpire in the next moments would be wildly different, yet no less amazing.
Even from their position, Amy could see the gigantic tower arising. What was its meaning? Truly, a mystery! Even Ooi was dumbfounded about its meaning. "I... I have no idea. That tower sprung completely out of blue, and it has a timer on it? I don't know about you, but I suggest against staying there to find out."
At least, she wasn't the only one who didn't know what the deal with the tower was about. Even Delu and the beautiful Sofia were dumbfounded by it. "I don't know, Delu~." Even the Ranamon's normally mellow tone was relatively serious in the face of this unknown factor. "If the judges haven't acted on it yet, maybe it's an ability performed by one of the participants? We can't be certain, but you can be sure that I'll come with a proper explanation once we get more details about it!"
She could already come up with some theories of what that thing did. None got to a nice conclusion. Just like... "Well, it isn't surprising that A Team is just willing to eliminate as many teams as possible, Delu~. Even if detrimental for their progress in the race, that seemed to be their main goal, no matter what. It makes you wonder, don't you think? I haven't ever seen a team so bent on just disqualifying others. It's a bit strange."
Things weren't calming down. What was the group supposed to do when facing a pincer maneuver coming from both Octomon and Ebidramon? Fighting didn't seem like an option, especially with Katherine and Jazz so close. "Careful! Both the octopus and the shrimp want to get to you!" Ooi was quick to discern what was up, but she wasn't so sure on what to do. "Try to get to the boat and escape. Staying in the island with that weird countdown thing seems like a bad idea, so I wouldn't recommend a fight, and Jazz and Katherine won't be able to board the boat if it's not near the shore. Hurry up!"
And that's when Amy had an idea. If Jazz couldn't run faster, she would make sure that would change. It took a single card, but once scanned, the Cho-Hakkaimon would feel her speed increasing dramatically. With any luck, she'd take the cue, pick up Katherine and get into the boat before being caught by the pincer tactic.
Risky, but for her, that was their best bet.

Even if Jazz couldn’t explain that burst of energy flowing throughout her body, she definitely knew what she had to do now. “Let’s go!!” She yelled, prolonging the last vocal, while she lifted Katherine and placed her above her shoulder, once again. From there, the Spaniard was able to see the menace behind them. “O-Octomon!” She squealed. Ooi’s insights regarding their current situation had, of course, give them a heads up about this. The octopus had his weapon raised, charging up a red blast, just like the one they had seen earlier. Before they noticed, Katherine was being thrown into the boat by her partner, landing next to Amelie and Liquid. “Let’s get the hell out of here!” Jazz yelled, jumping into the ship. Liquid abided immediately, getting the motor running, while they left the shore to head to Borderland Island. However, not too far away, Ebidramon was following them. “It doesn’t seem like a participant’s doing, Sofia! Even though we can’t really tell right now.” Even a bit preoccupied, Delu kept staring at the screen, giving some other thoughts regarding that giant tower. “Could it be the organizers hid something from even us, the announcers!?” His attention would quickly shift to the A Team’s situation. Their approach to the race was rather interesting. “Well, if everyone else is eliminated, there’s no way they can lose, right?” The bird cleared his throat. “Right now, it seems like this race is being shortened up. We can’t see any other team but Beer Flag, A-Team, Toxic, and Seduction up. And the team of Snake doesn’t even have a flag! However, they’re pretty far ahead! They have actually reached Borderland Island already and are about to start going back!”“Just… who are these guys?” Garmore stared at the screen, pretty much as focused on the current development as everyone else in the crowd. “Furthermore, Sofia…” The Delumon intended to add something to his initial insight. “It doesn’t seem like Beer Flag is out of harm’s way! Octomon is getting ready to take them down!”
The male part of the two announcers was not wrong, the evil digimon kept charging his blast, ready to shoot against Liquid’s team. Katherine and the rest of Beer Flag were aware of this too now. While the boat moved, the curly-haired girl observed the octopus in the distance, getting ready to shoot. Given the speed that laser seemed to travel with, it didn't seem like it would miss. Was it a good idea to assume the boat’s shield would be able to withstand this? Probably not, after what it had gone through recently, which Liquid was very much aware of. “We may need to use the last bit of nitro we have left to get away from this one” The Candlemon clenched his teeth. Running out of nitro before even starting the going back part was definitely not good news. “I really would like to have some of that for when we come back, but…” Katherine was interrupted by the splashing sound of two creatures next to the boat, moving above water level, not too far from them. “Would you look at that Sofia! They are the Mambomon brothers, from Blink Team! They are here!” The crowd exploded once again, upon the sight. Even if Blink Team was not a fan favorite, the spectators seemed to be happy to see a familiar face that hadn’t been wiped out by A-Team. “It’s amazing! Even though Whamon, their biggest member, was defeated by A team’s Octomom at Route Island, they have managed to catch up!” Delu’s eyes widened, upon seeing what one of them was gripping tightly in one of his red-glove-hands. “Look! They even have a flag!”
Jazz just stared at the duo of Mambomon, going past them. Such a determination. Such a will to keep moving forward, no matter what. It made her soul burn with fire. “Woooho! You go Mambomon!” Maybe she shouldn’t be cheering for their rivals, but their resilience had definitely motivated the ChoHakkaimon. One of the brothers turned at Jazz, with a pretty neutral stare, while they all kept moving. “Even though I appreciate your words, it doesn’t mean we’re going to let you win.” He declared, with an almost robotic way of speaking. His tone of voice was rather high, so the members of the team could hear him even though the sound of splashing water produced by both them and the boat “Well of co-““However.” The pig-girl was interrupted by the fish. “There is someone else who’s making a comeback.” He uttered. “And he wants revenge.” He added, his eyes drifting for a second back at the shore of Joy Island. “Huh?” Katherine’s green eyes couldn’t help but follow Mambomon’s, staring back at the shore, where Octomon kept charging the blast, about to shoot them from the distance. Liquid's hand was already over the Nitro button, assuming they had no other choice but to use that. Until... From the water next to the shore, a serpent-like digimon emerged. “OCTOMON!” This intense shouting echoed throughout the whole island. “That voice…” Garmore, Katherine, Liquid, Delu, and Jazz said almost in unison. Raising and slamming against the octopus, what seemed to be a new form of Inra, had appeared. Without giving him any type to react, he shot a blast of purple energy at the monster. It traveled quick, but it was so powerful it even raised the sand around it, impacting Octomon fiercely and sending him flying against a tree back inside the jungle. The flag the A Team’s member was previously holding, had fell over the sand. Inra swirled his tail around it, picking it up and diving into water almost as quickly as he had come out, heading towards Borderland Island. “That was…” A bit dumbfounded at what had just happened, Delu was having trouble to start speaking. “It was Inra!” The loudest roar ever echoed throughout the Archipelago, coming from the crowd at the stadium. Meanwhile, the clock at the top of the tower kept ticking. “101… 100… 99”Borderland Island had proven to not be that far away. Beer Flag Team boat was almost there. It was probably a good time to think of a strategy, giving the characteristics of this island. Ebidramon was still following the boat, not too far behind.

Saying that everything was going smoothly was the overstatement of the year. Nonetheless, at the very least, Beer Flag wasn't in immediate and critical risk to their safety. Ooi's warnings about the impending attacks, coupled with quick movements from Jazz and Liquid got the whole team atop the boat in relatively short order.
At the very least, everyone was safe, and that's what mattered the post, despite the dragon shrimp currently chasing after them. What about the giant clock, though? Was it really a surprise from the race's organizers? That seemed... interesting!
"It might be, Delu~! That makes the whole deal all the more exciting, in my opinion! What do you think will happen once that clock reaches zero? I'm a bit excited to find out!" That wasn't the only interesting event currently ongoing, though, even if making a remark regarding A-Team's unusual playstyle was more or less due. "What can I say, Delu~. I like a good fight as much as the next person, but I think that this has gotten a little bit excessive. This edition might as well be called 'The All Out Death Bowl™' rather than Race! But that's just my humble opinion on the matter."
The beautiful Ranamon was about to remark about how Octomon seemed to be all too keen on shooting Beer Flag's boat, until... "It's the Mambomons! One would think that they'd give up after the biggest member of their team was defeated, but they still seem to be aiming for the finish line! If that's not determined, then I don't know what that is."
Amy sighed; those two could mean good, or maybe bad news. Overall, she didn't seem to care about the development. "Even if this race is so weird... I wouldn't cheer for another team, Jazz. Being continuously focused by these nuisances is a pain in the ass." What could she say, this was a bit aggravating! "I wish I could devote the time and resources to just disqualify the lot of them, but that probably won't help us to win the race. Not to say that TOXIC is accruing even more virtual advantage by not being here..."
She would probably ramble a bit more as Liquid prepared the Nitro, if it weren't by none other than Inra's appearance. Talk about surprises! Even if in her slightly angry state, the brunette managed to widen her eyes at the appearance of the Seadramon variant. Luckily, the teenager was a quick thinker. She knew what was about to happen, and while she wanted to, it was unnecessary to remain and see it. "Let's get the hell out of here. We have a race to win and I don't wanna be in the way of an angry Inra."
Lest to say, the crowd was completely crazy at the development. After all, Inra was one of the most loved participants of the race. "It's an amazing comeback, Delu~! What will happen with Octomon!? What will happen once that clock reaches 0? And most importantly, what will happen in the next island? We'll find out in a second!"

The announcers kept dwelling on the subject of the giant clock that had appeared at the middle of Joy Island. It was pretty much the topic of the moment, so no surprise there.
“I’ve got no clue, Sofia! But all of the teams seem to not want anything to do with it.” The bird turned at a small screen on his desk, showing some message. “Oh! Some news just got in, Sofia!” It was not related to the giant clock tower, but it was definitely shocking to an extent. “Our judges had sent the info of the teams that have been declared unable to continue in this race.” A sudden silence took over the crowd. Everyone was expectant of the news. “The following participants cannot continue and they will be picked up by our team of Mojyamons, Sofia:” Delu cleared his throat as his voice acquired a serious tone, even sounding a bit fretted.
“Both Toucamons from Dazzling Stars Team are unable to continue. Since Peg the Toucamon was the captain of this team, Dazzling Stars is, in fact, eliminated. The same goes for every member of the Spinning Record’s team; none of them can continue, therefore, they are eliminated. Ruka from the Seduction team can’t compete any longer, but Seduction Team is still on the race.” The bird made a short pause, to then go on and read the rest of the message. “Other teams that hadn’t been very relevant in the race so far had also been eliminated in Joy Island, Sofia. This due to all of their members being laid out. SOS Team, Wai Team, Rocky Divers Team, BQ Team, and Power Princesses Team are all out. To these, we must add Dazzling Stars and Spinning Records, which we just mentioned. Of course, all of these teams join Water Racers, who were eliminated right when the race was just beginning.”
Except for the small group of fans every team had and for Ruka, who was widely loved by almost every spectator, no one on the crowd seemed too affected by these names being out of the race, but more about the fact it was A-Team who had taken all of them out.
“There are a lot of teams out, Sofia! Can you help me think who are still in the competition? We’ve got TOXIC, of course, Waru team, Beer Flag, A-Team, Seduction, a very damaged Ricky’s Crewmates team, Blink, and…?” The bird tilted his head. “Why do I feel there’s someone missing?” The announcer, and even the crowd, seemed genuinely confused. “Who’s missing, Sofia?” He asked, even sounding a bit desperate.
Regarding the next island, well, Beer Flag was about to face whatever peril it might bring, since they were right in front of it.
A giant square-shaped isle with water on its center floated highly above the boat, just some meters away, imposingly. They couldn’t see what was actually on the island from there, but… “I think there’s a pedestal with a button we have to push there. Then, we can go back.” Katherine’s head pointed upwards, staring at the giant piece of surface. This was based on what she remembered from the initial explanation given by Delu.
Back to the stadium, a deafening cornet-like sound echoed throughout the arena.
“Did you hear that, Sofia!? That means a team has pressed their button and they had started their way back!” The cameras showed a Morishellmon cheering, in front of a pedestal with a red button and the name TOXIC written on it. From there, it could be seen that there were sixteen pedestals (one for each team) scattered around the water, that was 50 meters over water level itself. “And as you might have guessed, it’s Kaku! The member of TOXIC Team! Now it’ll be fun to see how he gets down from up there.” The announcer stifled a quiet laugh behind his hand.
Katherine remained silent, trying to think on how to get there. The green-eyed kept her arms crossed and her eyes close, elucubrating. Was she cunning enough to figure this out?
“They said that Liquid couldn’t willingly fly at any minute of this race, right? So it has to be one of us who pushes the button, while he stays down here.” Jazz looked at Amelie, trying to get any kind of insight.
“I think I’ve got an idea on how to get there.” Katherine finally broke her silence. “But I think we need a strategy regarding how to proceed; who's staying and who's going.” She added.
"77...76...75..."

Nobody knew exactly what that giant clock tower was about, but there was one thing that seemed pretty obvious to everyone, especially to the beautiful Sofia. "Well, maybe it's just me, Delu~! But, most of the time, I'd say that ominous countdowns appearing seemingly out of the blue seldom end in something good. I wouldn't be surprised if the participants who have fallen behind are immediately disqualified. Or maybe they're forced to march onwards, who knows! I guess that's part of the charm, isn't it?"
Maybe not to the race's actual participants, but the audience surely seemed like they were having a blast with all the gimmicks that had been pulled out thus far. Except the fog of war, that is; who could possibly like being in the blind of what was happening? In any case, the topic quickly shifted as the Delumon got new information regarding the participants that had been eliminated from the race.
"Dazzling Stars, Spinning Records, SOS Team, Wai Team, Rocky Divers, BQ Team, Water Racers, and Power Princesses...! That means that 8 teams have been eliminated from the race thus far, people! And one team partially disabled, given how Ruka's being tragically knocked out! Thus far, no big names have been disqualified, even though we faced a temporary moment of uncertainty after Inra had apparently been knocked out! We can credit all those disqualifications in one way or another to A-Team! They've taken their role as the impromptu fighters of the race very seriously, Delu~! We can only guess what they'll do next!"
For a moment, the smart Sofia thought about the question posed by Delu, just for her expression to brighten right away. "Well, I think you missed Deep Sea team, but for some reason, none of our cameras can focus on them since the fog of war happened. Where they are, Delu!~? Can you see them? Could they have vanished? I guess we'll find out soon!"
What about Beer Flag? They had reached the next island; just in time to witness how one of the pedestals had been pushed by one of the Morishellmons. TOXIC had maintained a steady lead since the beginning of the race, so that was more or less expected by this point. How would the trio handle the situation? That was something that would be discussed soon enough.
"TOXIC is keeping their advantage, that's for sure! I haven't seen a team display that much dominance in a long while, Delu~! I think it's quite obvious by now that TOXIC are the favorites to win this race, even if half of it is left! Time will tell if their advantage will be kept as constant as it's been thus far or if it will shift in another team's favor!"
Meanwhile, Katherine, Jazz and Amelie were discussing how to push that button. In all honesty? The brunette would've felt way better if she could give any input on the situation at hand, but... "I'm not gonna lie; those two fights have left me a bit on the exhausted side." The exertion was obvious on her face; that fight against Ruka and the JumboGamemon had definitely pulled a number on her. "I have a couple of ideas on how to reach that platform, but they're not very good. I'll trust Katherine on this one, and I'd rather... remain in the boat, if I can; but I can go if absolutely necessary. I just need... to rest a bit."
Maybe just a bit wouldn't be enough, but any moment of calm would do plenty of good to the exhausted human.

The fact that the participants assumed the clock wasn’t good news wasn’t at all surprising. No one wanted to be there to find out what it did when it reached zero. “It is indeed very intriguing, Sofia! But it’s just one more of the surprises this race brings us every edition!”
“You’re right!” His eyes wide open, Delu pointed at the Ranamon with his wing. “I hadn’t seen Deep Sea Team since Joy Island! Where are they?” He then started watching the screen he had in front of him. “If the judges hadn’t communicated with us about it, it means they had not been eliminated. Or… could it be that even our judges can’t find them, Sofia?” He then turned towards his partner. “Tell me, do you have any info on them? Maybe if we inquire further on their members we can give our fans some insight about their situation!” The bird knew they held a register for the members of each team, and it was very likely those watching were interested in this mysterious ensemble.
Even if she knew this was probably not the right time, Katherine couldn’t help but worry about her friend. She didn’t know what Amelie and Liquid had been through upon going around Joy Island, but it definitely had worn them off. If it was as tiring psychologically and physically) as what she and Jazz had to face, there was no doubt why. However, Katherine didn’t have to evolve. She didn’t have to put herself in danger by fighting. It was different, and not only did she know it; it made her feel bad it was.
“Amy…” Katherine’s eyes looked for the blue in her friend’s. A tinge of doubt could be found. She wasn’t sure of being able to pull this off, but she was sure she didn’t want to risk her friend’s integrity any longer. “I need to take the boat. But you and Liquid must stay right here.”
Knowing her partner wouldn’t like this, she shifted her gaze towards Jazz. “You’re staying too. Without a boat, we need all the strength we can get to protect Liquid and Amy.” Before Jazz could even open her mouth, Katherine shut down any complaint. “I won’t let you go with me, so don't even try it.” There it was again. It had occurred at the train. It had occurred at Route Island. There was something about this world that made Katherine brave, even when she didn’t know what she was planning would even work.
“You can shoot wind, right? I saw you do it against those Agumons.” “I-I think I can, but…”
“Would you look at that, Sofia!” Delu jumped off his seat, once again showing his excitement. “Beer Flag Team’s boat is… flying!” The biggest screen at the stadium showed Katherine flying aboard the ship. Down below, at sea level, Jazz was standing on a white platform, made by Liquid’s wax, moving her hammer from one side to another, blowing an immense whirlwind towards the boat, several meters above her, and pushing it towards Borderland Island. The wind burst moved upward, and the boat had deployed the ‘wings’ they had installed yesterday.
Delu placed his wing on his earpiece as he received some news. “Our judges inform us the team’s captain is not aboard the boat, Sofia! So this is completely allowed!”
Even if the roar of the stadium was not even close to the amount of noise they made when Inra or Seduction Team made a move, it was starting to get louder and louder, every time Beer Flag pulled one of these... shenanigans.
“Would you look at that Sofia? This team never ceases to amaze us. They are still behind Toxic, but they are not giving up!”
Jazz kept swinging her hammer as Katherine, and the boat, slowly approximated to the island, using Jazz’s wind like a giant fan pushing a balloon.
On top of the white, waxy platform, next to Jazz, Liquid and Amelie were standing.
“Shisei! Liquid!” Jazz addressed her partners, speaking loudly, in order to be heard, due to the noise the wind made. “Please, keep your eyes open. I need you to cover me as you can until I get Kath up there!”

The beautiful Sofia nodded at Delu's remark on the clock. It was, indeed, one of the many surprises that the race's organizers prepared. "Whether that clock will favor or change the race's current status quo, that remains to be seen. We can only wait and see, Delu~!"
Deep sea's whereabouts were a true mystery. In all honesty, neither commentator could see the slightest clue regarding where the hell they might be. It's almost as if they didn't exist or as if they had disappeared from the face of the Binary Archipelago. "The judges have been awfully silent about it, but I think we have a clue regarding their possible whereabouts!" Suddenly, the cameras focused on a piece of flotsam currently floating in the traject that separated Joy Island from Borderland Island. "Considering that only two teams have employed boats in this race, we can assume that Deep Sea's boat has suffered critical damage! Whether that is grounds to rule a disqualification or not, that remains to be seen! The judges will tell us about it soon!"
Back onto the team that really mattered. Amelie's eyes set on Katherine's as well; she could sense the doubt her friend was feeling, that gesture eliciting a frown from the brunette. "That won't do, you know?" The previous expression was quick to change into a smile. "I won't have any long faces in this boat. Now, be a good girl, remember what I told you back at the lake, and get to that pedestal. I'll take care of anything that might harm Liquid or Jazz. I promise."
With those words, the plan was already set in motion. Everyone except Katherine would stay on the island while the black-haired teen would use the boat to reach the thingy. Simple enough, at least outwardly! Even though... wouldn't any of her own forms be better at reaching the switch than Katherine in the boat, even if she had the assistance of both Liquid and Jazz? A tired brunette contemplated that, even though she decided that it was ultimately too late to have a change of heart regarding that whole deal.
And, besides, the crowd had gone crazy over that attempt; Amy didn't have the heart to rob Katherine of her moment in the spotlight. She was doing a good job, after all!
"Yes. I can see it, Delu~! That Katherine girl is definitely a bold one! And her plan seems to be working according to the rules to boot! I haven't seen such an amazing display of ingenuity in a long time! Do you think she'll be successful? Especially considering..."
That things wouldn't be as easy. Even if suffering from a crippling blow given Jazz's previous ambush, that only gave the Agumon's from Ricky's crewmates even more of a reason to try and sabotage Beer Flag's attempt at achieving their goals. "I'm detecting a Tyrannomon, a Deltamon and an Allomon approaching. Girls, be on your guard!"
Even if Amy couldn't quite see them, three dinosaurs approaching was pretty easy to feel, given the slight tremors reaching their location. With an understandably tired gesture, she stretched her arms as she prepared to engage in combat again. "Time to take out the trash for good, I guess."
Confident words, despite the fact that the brunette knew her perfect level wasn't an option right now. An understandably small line of fractal code formed around the teenager's right hand. Not a form she used very frequently, but at the moment, it would have to do. The timing was perfect, considering that the boat was far away and there was not much to worry about regarding collateral damage.
Once again, her body quickly transformed, even if this time, Wimon was the aberration of choice. Deciding to take the initiative, the digimon seemed to disappear from sight and waited until the dinosaurs were at striking distance before... unceremoniously pouncing at the Deltamon.
With any luck, that'd buy Jazz and Kath enough time.

Incredulously, Delu rubbed his eyes with both wings, looking at the huge screen at the stadium, which showed a fight about to break down. And could you blame him? it was pretty amazing to see Ricky’s Crewmates having such a high spirit to keep on fighting.
“Ricky’s crewmates are back and looking for revenge, Sofia! But… what’s that they’re standing on!?” The most amazing part of this development was the fact that, much like Beer Flag, the dinosaurs were also standing on some sort of platform, where they moved freely. “Even though Borderland Island is suspended above the sky, many teams with digimon that can’t swim have found their way into standing on the water below the island. Beer Flag is using Liquid’s wax, while Ricky’s Crewmates are using… ice!”
The camera clearly showed how Ricky, the Subarimon, had half his body above water, right behind the dinosaurs. Out of his front side, he could ‘spit’ ice, that the dinosaurs were using as a platform to walk on. After some brief moments, Liquid’s waxy island was surrounded by ice, with the dinosaurs approaching from all sides.
“That’s a very good strategy.” Leo pointed out, still surrounded by his brothers, fluttering around the disguised Garmore. The shipwright just rubbed his ‘chin’ and stared at the development.
Showing a new form was something that the crowd seemed to appreciate, A LOT. The roar was deafening. Much like Katherine or Jazz, these digimon loved the concept of a human turning into one of them. Even if it was a very strange one.
Deltamon seemed to have felt the power of Wimon right away with that pound. He managed to bounce back from it and attempted to bite Wimon with his right arm.
It was clear the objective for Beer Flag should be to protect Jazz, unless until her job of getting Katherine up there was done. While the Allomon tried to approach the pig-girl, Liquid threw a burst of fireballs at him, one right after the other. “Hey! Over here!” Would this be a good enough distraction to draw the attention of the dinosaur away from the Chohakkaimon? It remained to be seen. What would Tyrannomon do? Would it go help Deltamon in the fight against the spirit human or would he go after one of the other two? That was a mystery right now too.
Katherine could see the danger approaching her teammates down below. The thought of Amelie not feeling too good before all of this just worried her to her guts, and made the ride until the island much larger. Finally, her green eyes widened up, seeing that she had arrived. Jazz didn’t seem to be able to provide any more height. Which was understandable, since she had a battle to engage into.
Borderland Island was a pretty plain isle. It had the shape of a square, filled with water to most of its extent, surrounded by a ground border, that stopped the water from falling down. Wondering how this isle maintained itself floating on the sky was something the green-eyed would leave for later on.
However, the lack of height made the boat fall over the ground that surrounded the ‘lake’. It was not a very stretch border, luckily. Katherine could see the pedestals floating on the water, even though she couldn’t read the labels from there.
The teenager started pulling from the bow of the ship, trying to drag it to the water. Damn, that thing was heavy.

Delu wasn't the only one surprised by Ricky and his crewmates' resourcefulness. The ingenious Sofia was also watching the fight expectantly, knowing full well how intricate were the situations of both teams. The result of this fight would determine more than a couple of things! "I doubt that Ricky's Crewmates, especially after that surprise attack, would just leave things as they were, right? While not the most honorable tactic, it was true that Beer Flag stole their flag, and it seems like they want it back, Delu~! But, will they get it? If you ask me, I'd say they look a bit outmatched!"
Even if not quite Ultimate level, Wimon was no slouch, and definitely wasn't restraining itself as it fought Deltamon, even though the combination of ice and wax around it was decaying rapidly in order to sustain the aberration's body. Unless it was reinforced further, chances were that the area would very likely collapse.
Without Deltamon, however. After a fierce barrage of attacks, and despite a fierce fight from its foe, Wimon managed to throw the dinosaur into the water, seemingly unable to fight anymore. For some reason, his body seemed to float, though. Why would that be?
Among the cheers produced both by Amy's evolution and the fact that he had disposed of one of the crewmates so quickly, Ooi tried to communicate with Curls, who was currently doing her best to drag a certain boat into the island's lagoon. "Y'know, Curls. I don't wanna pressure you or anything, but it seems like the fight down there got a bit intense. You're probably on it already, but try to get down as quickly as possible, okay? I can send Amy on your way if she gets a spare moment; she should be able to pick you and the boat really quickly and bring you down."
Tyrannomon wouldn't be given the choice of who would be the next foe to engage. Right after Deltamon, Wimon pounced on him, once again entangling what seemed like a pretty ferocious fight. It was right that she was currently pretty tired, and that showed on her somewhat sluggish (at least for her level) moves, but at least a good deal of her current energy consumption was being mitigated by the fact that Wimon could self-sustain. In a sense, and considering the brunette's currently energy reserves, this had been the best form she could don to dispatch any opposition as quickly as possible while conserving as much energy as she could.
She could only hope that the platform wouldn't grow too brittle, however. Liquid falling into the water would be nothing less than disastrous.

Great, now I giant dinosaur was chasing Liquid. The Candlemon leaped into the ice platform and then try to hop as fast as he could, getting away from Allomon, who kept chasing him from very close. One thing that was probably going to raise the trio’s attention was that the flag seemed nowhere to be seen. This, however, didn’t stop them from keep trying to eliminate Beer Flag. “And there he goes, Sofia! Deltamon is now down and into the water. Do you think he can keep fighting, though?” Delu then shifted his attention to another member of the attacking team. “It seems like Ricky is having some trouble putting more ice for his teammates.” The Submarimon kept shooting ice to try to hold the platform the dinosaurs were fighting over, but it didn’t seem like it could quite withstand that much weight, especially while a battle was being held. “I’m finally… free!” Jazz took a huge leap towards Allomon and slammed the creature with her hammer, sending him back. “Get away from him!” She roared. On his side, Tyrannomon would start shooting fireballs at Wimon, trying to hit her. With those same movements, he tried to draw her away, attempting to hit her with his tail. He was basically trying whatever that might get her away from him. Not too far away from the platform, and below Borderland Island, TOXIC Team seemed to still be waiting for the Shellmon who had gone up to the floating island. The amazing ‘ship’ Snake drove (a giant platform being pulled by the two mollusks) was currently missing a piece. “Kaku managed to push the button for TOXIC Team, Sofia. But… where is him? He’s still not back with his teammates!” Delu noted, a bit confused. Up above, Katherine was almost done. The boat was just some steps away from getting into the water, where she could finally drive it to look for the pedestal. From there, the sound of a horn got to her ears. When she looked into the water, a fierce-looking serpent, very similar to Inra, was floating in front of a pedestal, his tail pushing the button. “Is that…? Oh my god, it is! That’s Seadramon. I think Betamon, one of the members of Waru Team, evolved into that!” And, of course, the crowd went nuts after hearing Delu declare this. “Without us noticing, he managed to get to the pedestal and push the button for Waru Team. I didn’t even know the rest of Inra’s team was still alive.” And then, another horn echoed. Thunderbirdmon was standing over one of the pedestals, pushing the button down with his weight. “And there’s another one! Seduction Team has pushed their button too! Ruka might not be in this anymore, but her teammates keep going!”
Just as she saw every team pushing their button, Katherine heard Ooi talking through her earpiece. After the Technical Supporter was done speaking, silence ensued. “Amy… had to evolve again?” This didn’t come as anything near good to her for the green-eyed. Even though she was exhausted and Katherine tried to keep her out of this, Amy just kept going. “N-No! I’m fine here. Please, just tell her to make sure Liquid is safe.”She couldn’t be totally useless, right? If everyone was fighting so hard, she had to deliver. The girl dragged the boat into the water some final steps, finally getting it in there. Then, the sound of thunder and splashes of water got to her ears. “It seems like a battle has broken lose, Sofia! Up there, near the pedestal he just pushed, Thunderbirdmon is fighting for his life. Against who? Well, someone who definitely had some pending debts with him, A Team’s Octomon is back!” By now, it should be pretty obvious to everyone in the crowd that Octopus just didn't know when to quit. Katherine tried to keep herself focused on the task at hand, even if there was a fierce battle happening right behind her. Shouts, beams and thunder just kept going everywhere. The curly-haired got into the boat, and stared at the board, deciding on what to do, or more like thinking on how to do it. “Let’s see…” She should have really paid more attention when they drove that thing two nights ago. Just like that, she almost could say she felt two eyes over her, even through all the fighting noises. She slowly turned her head back at the sand behind her, some meters away from the boat, right at the shore. Kaku was staring at her, with a very plain, emotionless look in his eyes. He was just standing there, staring. Complete silence was Katherine’s response, just waiting on seeing what the MoriShellmon would do. Was she scared? Very much. 51… 50… 49…

The fight wasn't favoring Ricky's Crewmates, and that was to say the least! For the thoughtful Sofia, the situation wasn't looking all that well for them. "Well, Delu~! Deltamon doesn't look like he's getting out of the water any time soon, if you ask me, but he's also not devolved back to Agumon yet either! I'd say that he has some fight left in him, but the true question is... how much? And that's not to say that I doubt that the platform is gonna hold for a lot more, even without Deltamon's additional weight! What is going to happen, Delu~!? I'm excited to watch it!"
Luckily for the team, it seemed like Wimon was delivering to her promise and had cornered Tyrannomon. Uncaring of the damage she sustained, it just attacked relentlessly, going as far as to shock the dinosaur with a rather strong electrical current. On the other hand, Jazz seemed to be dealing just fine with the Allomon. Everything seemed to be going pretty well down below!
But, of course, the problems wouldn't just quite end there. What was happening at the moment on the island? "TOXIC, Waru and Seduction have managed to hit their respective pedestals. Kaku's whereabouts are unknown, but there's also something quite... strange happening in the island's lagoon, Delu~! Look, it's almost as if tremors were happening from the water itself, despite it being a body of still water! What's happening? Could it be that...?"
Suddenly and forcefully, a massive metallic body emerged from the depths of the lake; bigger and shinier than anybody currently present at the lake, the massive golden digimon didn't seem all too friendly. "This is the first time in a while I've seen one of those in the race, Delu~! I'm getting a message from the judges, and they just confirmed that the Aegisdramon that just appeared in Borderland belongs to Deep Sea! Apparently, the team, or at least a part of it, managed to get to the island while nobody was looking! I don't know about you, Delu~, but I don't think that giant guy is going to be any friendly to the people currently struggling to push their pedestals' buttons!"
Ooi gazed at the events that were currently unfolding with a dumbfounded expression. She had refrained to answer to Katherine's message or to relay it back to the main group for a small moment, just to get a bit more information regarding the dark-haired girl's situation. Her conclusion didn't wait, even if the first message was directed at Liquid, Amelie and Jazz rather than at the person who would get a hand hopefully soon.
"The situation at Borderland is critical. Katherine needs help right now. I know you're fighting right now, but I can't stress this enough. Jazz and Liquid will have to fend the dinosaurs alone; Amy will have to get going as soon as possible."
It was pretty easy to let go of the Tyrannomon and spring skyward. If the situation was as critical as Ooi had described it, a lone human just wouldn't be able to do it. Internally, the brunette berated herself for sending her friend on her own to such a dangerous mission, but it was too late to have regrets over it.
As Aegisdramon readied his weapon systems and everyone —even Kaku, who had been staring rather menacingly at Katherine— made a run for it to avoid the subsequent blast, Ooi spoke to her fellow teenager. "Amy's on her way! Hold on tight in any way you can! If the boat is destroyed, we're done for."
Not a second afterward, a good deal of the dragon's weapons were deployed, a barrage of small missiles and rockets flying everywhere and exploding as soon as they made contact with anything.
Kinda obvious, but getting hit by any of them would result in a fair bit of damage.

The sole noised produced by the splashing water and the trembling made Katherine turn her head away from the MoriShellmon and into this massive creature that had popped out of the water. What the hell was that thing, even? It looked like a giant aircraft carrier fused with a dragon. It was made of shiny gold that resulted in an almost blinding light by being hit by the sun’s rays. Her mouth a bit opened, Katherine was just paralyzed for some seconds, until something made her react immediately. Her backpack; it was moving forward by itself! Like if it was being dragged by the digimon. “Ahhh!” She let go a squeal as she held onto the bag, forcing it to remain around her. What was going on? It was as if something inside her backpack wanted to merge with that creature. She tightened up the bag’s straps to her back to regain some control of it. She still had to apply some reaction force on her own body, to avoid the backpack from dragging her in.
The Spaniard’s eyes then went back to Kaku but… the mollusk was hopping through the sand, making his way to the edge of the island, just running away. Then, back to whatever this thing was.
As she saw it deploy its weapons, the girl reached to her pocket. Her finger spinning around the strap of a necklace. It was a good thing she had taken this from Amelie when she did. Because she was going to need that shield more than ever now. Was she exhausted? Had the explosion of route island and the collapse of that cave worn her down? Of course they had. However, just thinking Amelie had probably been through a lot more and was fighting down there, just wasn’t letting her back down.
Besides… did she really have a choice? She was at the water already. She had nowhere to run.
“This just got a lot more interesting, Sofia! I would lie if I said I wasn’t expecting Deep Sea to make their move. If they had got this far, I’m sure they mean business.” However, with so many events happening at once, it was hard for Delu to focus on a single thing. “And there goes another horn! Octomon has taken advantage of the distraction and has pushed A Team’s pedestal, Sofia! But… wasn’t he having a gruesome battle against…?” Delu was interrupted halfway through his own sentence. The main camera was showing something truly awful.
The whole crowd immediately started booing. Everyone could see through the main screen how Thunderbirdmon had been caught mid-air by Anomalocarimon. The replay then showed how the A Team’s third member had raised out of the water and pierced the giant bird with its tail. Thunderbirdmon then fell into the water completely unconscious.
In all honesty, Delu was in a loss for words right now. “That’s…” He made a pause. The booing from the crowd was deafening. “… Definitely, the most aggressive move we’ve seen in a while in this race, Sofia.” Immediately, some insight arrived through his earpiece. “We’ve been told Seduction’s Team Thunderbirdmon can’t continue in this competition. Our judges will check on his status as soon as possible.” Of course, more booing.
“N-No!” Katherine replied to Ooi as the boat moved through the missiles and rockets going everywhere. “I’m fine, really!” Right now, the shield was withstanding any damage that was coming to the ship, and the girl was trying to go around the giant golden-thing that had just appeared to find Beer’s Flag pedestal. Did she need help? Of course she did. She couldn't just let herself admit it. Not after seeing Amelie like that.
“This human is really something else, Sofia! Even though Aegisdramon is right there, she’s going through the lake trying to find Beer Flag’s pedestal!” There was no time for the announcers to grief about Thunderbirdmon. Too many things happening at once. “Do you think she can withstand these attacks any longer?” The main screen of the stadium showed another digimon going down. “Oww! It seems Seadramon was hit by one big missile and he’s down, Sofia!” The crowd seemed honestly worried about Waru’s team member, although some of them were cheering because of the obvious excitement Aegisdramon had added to this part of the race. “I think he’s out! Luckily, he managed to push the pedestal for his team before.” Not long after, the cameras would show another two victims of the rockets going everywhere. The Mambomon Brothers from Blink team had been impacted. "And two more are down Sofia! Could this be the end of Blink Team?" The Delumon waited for his partner to get some insight. With Whamon out, if the Mambomon couldn't continue, this was it.
Down below, things for Jazz had gotten a lot more complicated. Liquid tried to throw wax at Allomon’s feet to hamper his movements. Tyrannomon was charging at him so Jazz was now trying to fend him off the candle.
“I won’t let you!” The Chohakkaimon used her hammer to maintain the giant dinosaur away, while he kept shooting fire and wiggling his tail. His movements were slow and clumsy. The tiredness from Jazz and Katherine’s previous ambush combined with the damaged sustained from Wiimon’s technique seemed to be kicking off.
Everything got a lot more complicated when the pig-girl felt a shot on her armor. From the water, Deltamon was shooting blue beans of energy from the mouth at his right arm. Allomon would be freed at any minute now, so the duo was having some trouble. It’d be good if Katherine and Amelie could push that pedestal soon so they could get the hell out of there.
