The Dark Area... it hadn't changed all that much in the relatively long period of time after their last visit. But... that had more or less been expected, hadn't it? Somewhat unfitting for a lawless place, but the status quo rarely —if ever— suffered any alterations.
Yet... that was about to change, or at least those had been Rinji's and Amelie's intentions. As corny as it sounded, the two friends had vowed to do something about this place, this section of the Digital World that had been forsaken for all this time. Set things right... at least on their definition of right. At the moment, only time and history would be able to judge their actions as correct or incorrect.
A long time until that judgment would happen anyway. Currently, the two beings were facing against one of the many small packs of DexDorugamon that populated the so-called Forsaken Wasteland in an attempt to secure an area big enough to begin building a proper place. Not even in the planning phase proper, yet that was a testament to the amount of work left to do.
Heraldmon's hulking figure moved across the battlefield inelegantly; there were two or so zombie-dragon-vampires left in order to eradicate this pack, even though this was a mere spot in the grand scheme of things; there was still a lot left to do, even to be finished with this stage. But... progress was progress; eventually, the duo would reach their goals. Amelie was sure of it.
Only one left, and pretty much perfectly lined at striking distance from Mukademon. Unless more enemies appeared, they probably were done for today. Once they were done with that, the data surrounding Amy's body unraveled, revealing a slightly tired, yet satisfied brunette. A small smile graced her face.
"Well, that's our quota for today, Rin-Rin. If we can hold our ground, we'll probably have the space we need in a month or so." She sounded hopeful, even though the chances of that time window being true weren't overly high.
For how long had they been doing this? A week or so, maybe? She was sure that voice of them taking care of the local pasts should've reached the ears of many of the continent's inhabitants, and while she understood them considering this yet another pointless endeavor in a hopeless land, the brunette would've been thankful for being shown at least some encouragement.
But, that was ultimately something she didn't need. She was doing this mostly for Rinji and for herself; everyone else was more or less... accessory, as bad as it sounded, or at least they were for now. Maybe once somebody showed as much conviction as them... that would change.
The teenager stared at the lightless sky, then sighed. "Let's take a small break. I'll cook something for us."
Said and done, and in less than five minutes, a pot was beginning to bubble over a makeshift fire, the scent of a hearty stew being a welcome break from the stench of death and decay that seemed to inundate The Forsaken Wasteland. Not the smartest choice, considering how many ravenous creatures inhabited this place, but at this point, Amelie didn't care. She was hungry, and she wanted to eat.
"Should be ready in fifteen or so minutes~!" Good food always managed to cheer her up, that much could be said.

To 'fix' the Dark Area. That was both Amelie's and Rinji's promise, in a way. Foolish as it both sounded and felt, now that they were here. How many mindless zombies had they killed? He'd lost count a couple days ago. Not that his current digivolution was suited to mathematics. It wanted blood, not numbers.
Amelie had done her job with one of the dragons, and the last DexDorugamon was in perfect firing distance from him. Mukademon's huge jaw flickered with a red light before it ignited, scoring a perfect laser beam through the unfortunate Digimon. It screeched at the hole through its chest, keeled over and disintegrated harmlessly. At first he'd felt bad for doing things like this, now he only felt satisfied for landing a good hit.
They were determined to see this through, and the DexDorugamon were savage creatures. He sighed, approaching Amelie as she reverted back from her spirit form, while he opted to remain as Mukademon for just a while more. As long as he didn't get too wrapped up into a fight, he had a decent level of control over himself.
"Good. I'm starting to tire," he said plainly, nuzzling his head closer to Amelie. It probably looked somewhat strange, a giant evil-looking centipede bowing to a human girl like a puppy, but he continued. "They should rename it the 'Occupied Wasteland'. I lost count of how many we've had to destroy."
Humour had become Rinji's way of coping with the endless hordes of dragons that occupied this area. It made it feel somewhat less futile. Although he was doing this for Amelie and the other virus types that had been left to the wolves.
"A break sounds good to me," he commented. His eyes drifted as they watched Amelie go about making the stew. With a small red spark of lightning, he helped light the fire. Then he circled around her, let his legs collapse from beneath him, and slumped onto the floor. A small plume of dust parted. "Uh, sorry," he apologised when it flew into the air. Thankfully none of it went into the food.
"I'll devolve when it's done." Until then, he was half-circled around Amelie and the cooking pot. Like a giant barricade, serving as a 180 degree shield. It was also sort of cozy, with the fire in the centre... although to say he wasn't doing it to be protective would've been a lie.

The Dark Area was likely one of, if not the worst place to be lost in for someone like Akemi Amaya. Especially when she had something like Anzu at her rather limited beck and call. This place was nothing more than chaos and lawlessness given form, given life. And Akemi mostly wanted out of it. A forsaken, barren land where light dares not to touch anything?
Well, that was more than enough to unsettle her. More than the screeching noise coming from near where they were at. After a period of silence, maybe a few minutes, Anzu quickly wriggled her way out of Akemi's arms! "I smell something!" She shouted as she flew towards the source of the smell--where Rinji and Amelie were.
...And she promptly smacked right into the Mukademon.
"Aha! AN INSECT. I claim it in the name of Anzutopia."
Truly, the epitome of grace. Akemi, not one for standing idly by while Anzu rushed ahead, considering the last time she did that she wound up in the middle of a standoff of no less than SEVEN FUCKING CHAMPION LEVEL DIGIMON. So she ran after her partner with a rather feeble shout of "Hold up, you moron!"
And promptly came upon that.
"...What."

For a second, Amelie gazed at her friend, a small smile illuminated her features as her hand caressed the Mukademon's black carapace. In more than one sense, Rinji had been more than vital for this whole endeavor; the fact that he both was irreplaceable as manpower and emotional support was way more than what she could ask for.
A stifled laughter ensued at his attempt at humor. "Well, even if not now, I'm sure that this place is going to be renamed fairly soon. Don't you think so too, Rin-Rin?"
Maybe it was a faraway dream at this stage, but the brunette wondered if it was adequate to begin thinking about possible city names right now. Just to dismiss that notion right away; definitely too early.
She could definitely appreciate how loyal and how much care the centipede displayed since he basically had hunkered around her, forming a protective barrier with his own body in case something decided that it wanted to surprise them. What had Amy done to deserve a friend such as him? It escaped her comprehension, yet that didn't make her feel any less thankful.
Showing that she didn't care about the small plumes of dust that his sudden movement had caused, the brunette waved off Rinji's apology with a lazy gesture of her hand; the downside of that gesture —if it even could be called that— paled in comparison to what it implied. Amelie would have to be blind to not see it.
Regarding the stew? It was coming along well; not like cooking that type of stuff was overly hard, but that didn't mean the teenager couldn't be satisfied with the result, right? For now, it wasn't like that mattered much, mostly since... it seemed like the duo had visits.
Visits that made their presence known in the weirdest of ways, as far as she knew. Looking in the general direction, what she saw was a flying purple bean, coming alongside a human girl who seemed to be the smarter of the two. Facing their shenanigans, the brunette smiled.
"I have no idea what 'Anzutopia' is, but I'm afraid that no one has a claim over my partner if I have a say on the matter." Her tone was casual and not really threatening; the ruse currently underway was something the duo had more or less gotten used to. Especially in a place like this one, hiding the fact that they had access to that extra bit of firepower could be an important asset. "Or if he does. For somebody so small and currently traversing by the Dark Area, you sure are... bold. Rin-Rin could probably vaporize you on the spot if he wanted to."
As doubtful as that course of action was, it was still something worth pointing out, given the unforgiving nature of this region. Amelie's smile didn't falter; she wasn't sure of this duo's intentions, but at least on the surface, they seemed harmless. And a bit clumsy. "But that won't happen as long as you're not hostile. Why don't you sit along the hearth and we have a nice meal with us? It'd be interesting to know what you two are doing in a place like this."
It wasn't like they had anything better to do at the moment, anyway!

"Let's hope so," Rinji replied to Amelie. A better name was a must. "We've gotten in pretty deep the past few days. We should at least be allowed to name it when it's ours." Because of course, who the land actually belonged to was still being contested. Although it was a contest that Rinji was sure he and Amelie would win.
For now though? Break time. There was nothing wrong with looking forward to a good meal. "The stew smells good," he stated. Still, they had a few more minutes of patient waiting until it was done.
Suddenly, the centipede heard the sound of wing beats. Something small smacked into his side. A... purple bean? A Tsukaimon? He turned his head so that one set of eyes were facing the new digimon. Given the circumstances, he almost considered batting it away just in case.
Instead, the Tsukaimon said something rather unexpected. A deep chuckle reverberated through him. "I don't think Anzutopia is what we'll call our city," he remarked, considering their earlier conversation. As far as he could see and smell, she didn't seem to be a threat. Maybe it was her overall demeanour, or a strange sense of kinship the champion felt for fellow friendly virus types.
Although..."I'll admit I almost considered sending you on your way," he added light-heartedly after Amelie made the vaporisation comment. He was quite happy to play the role of her partner by now, but there was no way he would've actually considered incinerating the little bean. That would've been plain cruel and unfair.
Seeing other generally non-hostile beings here was unusual, however. "The Dark Area isn't the best place to go on a stroll to meet new friends," he continued as the Tsukaimon's tamer came running after her. "I'm sure your tamer would agree."
"We have a stew going," he said. "Is it almost done, Amelie?" It was starting to look done, the way it was boiling over in the pot. He wouldn't be surprised if it was the reason the rookie had wandered over here at the behest of her tamer. "It smells done," he commented, betraying his eagerness to eat.
If Amelie was inviting the two newcomers to sit down and eat with them, then it probably was cooked now. "In that case, I'll devolve now and get out of your way." Personally, he didn't mind the extra company. He and Amelie normally cooked too much anyway.
The black centipede promptly began to glow a hazy red as the light hid his diminishing size. After a few seconds, the glow faded to reveal a crimson rookie. It was quite obviously still the same centipede.
With the change in size having left him a few feet further away from Amelie than necessary, he wandered back over to her while beckoning the Tsukaimon and her human to join them.
"I'm Rinji, by the way," he said politely. Amelie had kind of used his nickname earlier, but now was a good time to get proper introductions through. Introducing yourself when you're about one or two stories taller than everyone else tended to become awkward.
While introductions were going on, Amelie could hand out the food and they could get the question of what they were doing in the Dark Area out of the way.

"Aww, c'mon! It's a super cool name, though!" Anzu whined. Akemi just ran a hand through her tousled hair and sighed. "Barring my partner's extreme display of incompetence, ah...We really wouldn't be here if we had a choice, except a girl wearing white with a ridiculous hat that -apparently- was a Digimon decided to just teleport us here with very little provocation. Is that the right word? Yeah, I think it is."
"ANGELS SUCK." "...That wasn't an angel." Akemi corrected Anzu. "Anyways, grub sounds nice. Thanks for that. I'm Akemi and this is Anzu." The girl said, taking a seat near the now rookie Scolomon and Amelie herself, with Anzu plopping on her tamer's head. "Hi!" She stuck her tongue out and continued relaxing.
Honestly how did they even get by while they were in this desolate land?

Why, of all places, the twins would choose to adventure into the Dark Area was a mystery. After a less than safe start into the Digital World, one would think the duo would exercise some caution! But, instead, they wandered into an area that already didn't look like someplace laced with butterflies and cookies!
"Hey, Evie," one of the siblings hummed, looking up at the sky. "Guess what?"
"Hm?" Knowing that 'what' was always a trick response to a question like that, Evie opted not to answer with the actual word.
But, it didn't seem that grade-school jokes had been what Elsie planned to get at! "Y'still didn't pack a flashlight."
Slowly, green eyes shifted to glare at her sibling. Exhaling, it seemed that the prim-and-proper twin already knew where this statement was going! "I don't think that, just because it's called the Dark Area, it requires a flashlight to--"
"--Do you smell something? I think I smell food," the red eyed sibling was quick to interrupt, easily forgetting the prior topic. Instead, she was remembering that she hadn't eaten in a while! And all this exploring in dangerous worlds was making her hungry! "Do you think it's food? Think someone'll give us some food if we find it?"
Leaning away from her apparently starving sister, Evie scrunched her nose. "I don't smell anything." Except maybe some dead plants. Or animals. Evie wasn't so sure, and she didn't really care to find out! Did anything actually decay in the digital world? That was a good mystery to solve someday! But, perhaps, not the edibility of anything around here! That just sounded like food poisoning in so many ways!
Or, seeing what seemed to be a giant centipede in the distance, maybe it sounded like death! Though, noticing that it was shrinking in size (and changing color), perhaps it was a little less deadly now! Still, Evie wasn't too fond of the idea of harassing a centipede for food! Not that she had much choice!
Feeling her hand being gripped, her sibling began to drag her forward. "Wh--at are you--?"
"There're people!" Elsie explained, pulling harder and increasing her pace. Surely normal looking people weren't going to give them a hard time! Right?
Ah, naivety! How did Elsie even make it this far?!
"This is incredibly rude," the green-eyed sister insisted, trying to resist, but she found herself dragged along regardless. "Don't you know manners?"
"Sure. I know it's rude not to introduce yourself when people are around," the wild-haired girl responded, flashing a grin. Once closer to the group, Elsie would use her free hand to wave at the strangers. "Hey there! What're you all doing way out here?" That wasn't much of an introduction! So much for 'not being rude'!

Amy just gave a slight nod and a smile to Rinji. It was true that they had plowed into this land pretty deeply as of late, yet the amount of work left to do was still staggering. It made her feel a bit dizzy at times, even though that was probably from overusing her spirits; her body had felt the consequences of both the exertion and becoming an eldritch monstrosity for prolonged periods of time, even if as of yet that had just been persistent tiredness and pretty mean migraines every now and then.
On the plus side, those had been as collaborative as they could ever since this project had been set into motion; almost as if they wanted for this to happen too? Weird, even if the brunette couldn't complain; not 'waking up' at random places at random times definitely was something she could appreciate.
Once Anzutopia had been dismissed from the list of possible names this place would have, Amy sighed, getting ready for the inevitable meal. "Yup, it's pretty much done. I'll begin serving."
The teenager gazed at both the girl and her digimon; pleasantries time had arrived, hadn't it. So, just after Rinji... "And I'm Amelie; pleased to meet you." A small pause followed, contemplating if to ask about the strange circumstances that had led them to this place, especially concerning this 'friendly angel'.
However, that'd have to wait for a bit! Yet another duo seemed to be approaching, even if this time it seemed like two girls that were... pretty much identical, at least appearance-wise; from the limited information she had, Amy could tell that the wild-haired one was the more extroverted and reckless of the duo. Yet, the brunette had to wonder; why did those two seem... familiar, and most importantly; why did she feel relieved at them showing up? That was something that she couldn't quite tell.
Not like it mattered at the moment, anyway. Mustering a friendly expression and waving back at the not-quite-blonde one, Amelie proceeded to answer the girl's query. "We're having lunch, and in the process of founding a city. Wanna join? There should be more than enough food and... work for everyone."
Of course, her statement had carried a bit of a joking tone. Could somebody throwing something like founding a city be taken seriously? Not like it mattered; soon enough, six bowls had been served, and the food was passing along!

After Amelie mentioned Anzu's name again, something twigged for the Scolomon. "Oh, Anzu is your name," he stated with understanding while he peered at her from her tamer's head. Maybe it was obvious but for unexplained reasons it hadn't quite reached him when he'd heard it the first time.
"I thought Anzu was the name of an extinct feathered dinosaur? Old reptiles that used to live on Earth," he commented, having remembered his past-time studies of Earth related things. Of course, the Tsukaimon looked nothing like one. Although it still somewhat fascinated him. "Did Akemi name you or have you always been called Anzu?"
Then he realised that maybe he was getting ahead of himself here. This was only a first meeting. "Uh, sorry if that came off a bit rude," he apologised as he attempted to reel himself in. Still, he really would like to know if the dinosaur had been an inspiration. Maybe she or Akemi were dinosaur enthusiasts?
Although then more people arrived towards their camp site. "I was worried the cooking might attract more DexDorugamon, but I didn't expect this," he commented partly to himself and partly to the already existing gang. It was like Amelie's cooking had created an open invitation to all the humans wandering the Dark Area. Was this the power of stew?
Once Amelie had introduced herself and the light-hearted 'founding a city' introduction, Rinji commented further. "Yeah, that's pretty much what we're doing," he said as he stood next to Amelie, accentuating the idea that he was her partner. "We've mostly just been clearing territory so far, but you're welcome to stay." It sounded simple spoken aloud, but truthfully it'd been back breaking work. It's what made it important to take regular breaks, like now.
"Good thing we always cook too much in case half a dozen people want to join in." He grinned playfully towards Amelie. Maybe he wouldn't normally be this brazen, but with a trusted friend such as Amelie and an already laid-back duo accompanying them, why not? It was quite clear that they were running the show. Unless this was of course all a very elaborate ambush, but he highly doubted that. They had barely anything for anyone to take.
"I'm Rinji," he said, introducing himself yet again to the two twins. Or at least he assumed they were twins. They weren't even the first twins he'd ever met, and briefly he had to wonder if triplets were a thing.
The centipede digimon took a bowl as Amelie passed them along. If he were honest, it looked great! All the time they'd spent in the wilderness together really made the dish second-nature for her to make. "Thanks Amelie," he said. Sometimes he wished he could help more with the cooking, but at least he helped with the fire and acted as bodyguard while it brewed.
Rinji sat down and began happily munching down on the contents of the stew. It was just the way he liked it, budget camp food or not.

It had appeared as though today was...a very particular day to get lost in the Dark Area, because two more had arrived. Akemi peered towards the newcomers--twins. They also looked like they were...the same age as her. Interesting. Wonder why they were out here. She gave a wave at them while Anzu looked up at Rinji. "I am Anzu. Always have been. Always will be!"
This prompted the tamer to look down. "You do realize you were perfectly fine with me calling you Fuzzball until a few days ago, right?" She noted. "...Buh..." was Anzu's reply. Akemi perked a brow. "...A city? Just the two of you? That's...actually really ambitious."
"...I call helping!" Anzu suddenly declared, before she flapped up into the air, staring at the twins like she just realized they were even there. "Hi, I'm Anzu and this dork below me's Akemi!"

At least nobody seemed to mind Elsie's horrible lack of manners! In fact, everyone seemed pretty friendly! Even the growing-and-shrinking centipede and purple bean-with-wings! Making a slightly awkward grin at the centipede's comment on cooking in the case of a dozen people, Elsie decided to roll with it. At least, as best as she could considering she was completely out of the loop with talking to sentient... bugs? Was it rude to think of a bug-esque Digimon as a bug? The world may never know.
Or, at least, Elsie may never know. She certainly wasn't going to ask! "Super good thing," the red-eyed teen chimed, debating in hindsight if it was a rude response. Too late now! "Because it smells amazing!"
Luckily, Evie was there to pick up the more important pieces of the conversation. "You're building a city?" That sounded more interesting than food!
But, something felt almost unsettling to the prim-and-proper teen. Green eyes glanced to her sibling, but unfortunately was ignored. Food was definitely priority to Elsie right now, and she wasn't even thinking about her sister anymore! Evie couldn't help but feel like she'd met this Amelie girl before. "I'm Evie, and my sister is Elsie. It's nice to meet you all." Still, maybe she found herself staring at Amelie for a few moments too long. Why couldn't she place her? Usually, Evie's memory didn't feel so confused. "Building a city sounds like quite the endeavor. What kind of city is it going to be? Do you have any goals for it?" Leave it to Evie to ask the important things, though! Sure, she would give a small thank you as she was handed food, but city building was definitely the subject here.
Elsie had way more important subjects to study, though! Like food! "Thanks!" The twin grinned taking the bowl and not even taking a moment to examine the food before beginning to consume it.
And that's how people get poisoned! But, luckily, this didn't seem toxic, and the sister would probably live for another day. Unless she prodded too much at strange monsters, that is! Looking at Rinji and Anzu, the twin gave a small point at the two. "So, are you two those, uh--" what was the term? "--Partnered Digimon?" It was pretty obvious with Anzu introducing the other girl, that they had to be together! But Rinji and Amelie looked pretty close, too! Then, she added another question that seemed more directed toward the purple bean and potential partner, "are you guys helping with the city building too?" After all! This was an important poll! Was it working for the food? Was it just eating the food?
It was probably working for it. Especially when it clicked into Elsie's mind that Evie had asked a question about the city. Surely, there wouldn't be inquiries or willingness to eat, if Evie wasn't actually thinking about taking part in this!

There was a small gathering brewing around, wasn't it? Considering that their food had managed to bring together not DexDorugamons, but three humans and a Tsukaimon was an interesting development. Smiling at the wild-haired teenager that had been kind enough to compliment her cooking, she proceeded to answer the queries of both girls who seemed to have taken her almost-joking statement seriously.
That was good, because that was their intent. "Yup, a city. Annnd, yes; for now, we're only two working on it, but that's understandable, you know?" She made a quick pause, leaving that statement in the air as if it were obvious. "In case you weren't aware, the Dark Area is like... the unwanted stepsister among the other areas of the Digital World; despised by most beings that don't inhabit it and abandoned by those who can as soon as they are able to, expecting any help from the get-go is ridiculous."
It was a bit harsh, but that was the sad truth about any endeavor that involved bettering the Dark Area. "There are kind souls inhabiting this land, but since most enterprises labeled as 'bettering' it involve some kind of scam rather than genuine goodwill, everyone is wary to lend their help. After all, what can we offer at the moment besides our word? Nothing." Amy's expression didn't waver, resolve evident in her every feature. "And that's why we'll demonstrate that we mean to carry out this project. Once that happens, I'm sure that we'll get a decent amount of help... but until then, it's just the two of us."
Almost as if she had told some kind of funny joke, she proceeded to snicker a bit afterward. "Not like we can't handle this by ourselves just fine. Right, Rin-Rin?"
Nodding at Evie's introduction, the brunette extended her hand, a smile on her face as she gestured at everyone else. "My partner's Rinji, these two are Akemi and Anzu and I'm Amelie. Pleased to meet you two."
Amy had to admit, even if she had noticed that Evie was staring a bit, she couldn't quite shake off the feeling that she had seen these two before. Somewhere, somehow. And for some reason, she couldn't shake off that feeling. "What kind of city? Well, unless you're asking for any structural details, it'll be a haven for everyone who wants to make the Dark Area a better place; we want to show everyone else that underestimating and resenting it wasn't the right call, and, in a sense, fix that opinion. By the end of this, every other city will look in this direction with envy rather than pity."
Ambitious? Of course it was, but Amy felt like she needed that mindset in order to carry this one out. She had done a fair bit of talking, hadn't she? Elsie's questions had been directed at the digimon, so the brunette left those to Rin-Rin and Anzu. Her stew would get cold if she kept on talking, anyway!

Despite Anzu's cheery reply to his question, the lack of dinosaur-related answers rather dampened Rinji's enthusiasm. "Oh," he replied flatly. It'd been worth a try to start a conversation. Although Anzu was cheery enough about wanting to help them. "You would?" He asked, genuinely curious.
The fresh conversation provided by the newcomer twins and Amelie's somewhat inspiring mini-speech was riveting. To say it distracted him... Amelie certainly had a way with words. He knew no better candidate to found their city other than her.
"Right," he replied supportingly in mid-conversation to Amelie's question. The tiniest of smiles graced his face; the pair certainly had more tricks up their sleeve than anyone here suspected. Two heads were better than one, two fighters even more so.
For clearing the territory required by their humble beginnings? It was invaluable to have just that little extra fire-power. That wasn't the only thing having two people was essential for, either. It was also the matter of hope. If one of them ever felt down or discouraged, the other was always there to back them up and get them going again. Cities weren't built with despair or doubt.
"Our vision might sound a bit crazy, since we still need to lay the foundations. But if it hadn't been for our work the past week, the area we're eating in right now would be infested with feral Digimon," he explained further after Amelie had finished. Perhaps if they properly explained their idea to these newcomers... they might even join the team.
""A lot of people pity or look down on this area. But really... the Dark Area is no better or worse than any other region of the Digital World." Normally, Rinji was quite detached when it came to issues such as this, but a slight terseness occupied itself in his voice. "For it to go rejected just because virus-types and Nightmare Soldiers live here," he paused then continued, "you can see why we'd want to fix that."
The injustice and inequality of the entire situation hit a somewhat personal note within him. "Have you ever tried to enter and walk through Luminas City as a virus-type? You're pretty much a criminal even if you've done nothing wrong." The holier-than-thou attitude the angel Digimon there had over their counterparts was one of the things in his life that truly irritated him.
The centipede stopped to take a couple more bites out of his stew.
The question about whether he and Amelie were partners wasn't a bad one. It wasn't like they had matching colour schemes or anything. "Me and Amelie have been together for a while now," he replied to Elsie positively. "We agreed to build the city together."
With all the talking going around and just how hungry digivolving had made him, he finished his stew in no time flat. Normally there was enough to go round for seconds but, well, let's say he was full up enough for now.

"Aw, yeah, we're helping! Because I said so!" Anzu chirped, happily. Yes, she very much was forcing her partner into helping with this. She then turned around towards Rinji--She hadn't forgotten what he asked, but in a startling show of intelligence...
"Naw, it's not that. I barely even know what a dinosaur is but that does sound pretty neat." Then, Anzu turned to Elsie. "Yep!" Akemi meanwhile opted to pay more attention to the humans (and sapient centipede) among them. "Akemi Amaya. It's nice to meet you." Listening to Amelie yielded at least an explanation of why the city was being built.
Something like a haven in a very, very awful place. Something that would require a lot of...effort to put in. Something that may not even...well, turn out well. "I...think I get it..." She mumbled. Anzu just stared down at her tamer, who took a bowl of the cooking that had attracted them here in the first place and began to scarf it down. She drifted down to take her own bowl, dragging it by her paws before scarfing it down as well.
Akemi looked a little skeptical about this. Amelie -was- talking some...big plans. Real big.

Evie was busy listening to the explanations brought on by everyone present. Or, at least, by the centipede and its partner. Giving occasional nods to prove she was listening, the blonde tried to feign full understanding of how the Dark Area normally worked. Unsurprisingly, it didn't sound like it was particularly loved!
Still, the girl couldn't help but feel like something might be a touch... off with the way Amelie felt toward building this city. Was it dedication? Or obsession? Or, did it hold intent of creating a war with other areas? At this point, the girl struggled to discern. It was interesting, nonetheless. And, soon, with Rinji joining in on the explanation, a new name of a place kicked up. Luminas. Just hearing the name was enough to light up that it was probably quite the opposite of the Dark Area. Though, considering the little that she already knew about the spirit lines of the siblings, it didn't sound like a place the Winters would be welcomed.
"The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do," the green eyed girl quoted, feeling it was a proper response to Rinji's comment on their vision sounding crazy. "Someone famous in the human world said that, I believe," she stated, before providing a small smile, "I wouldn't think crazy sounds so crazy, considering that." Now, she'd pause to eat some of the stew, after having watched others beginning to eat. It wasn't like Amy and Rinji were looking for a lecture to prove that their opinions were right, after all.
And, after a few moments of eating, and perhaps a tiny bit of pondering, the blonde added, "if you would like, we could help."
Where as Elsie had been far too focused on food, after receiving confirmation of everyone else present having a partner, it seemed that those words dragged her away from her stew in an instant. "We could?" The red-eyed girl clarified, skeptically.
"I could," Evie adjusted, monotone.
"We could," was soon the correction that Elsie put in, flatly. And here she had been hoping to sneak out of this with some free food!
Feeling accomplished at so easily pulling her sister into the work, Evie's smile grew slightly. Perhaps, with a bit of excitement? "I think it would be nice to help make a positive mark on this place! What better way to do it, right?" And, now, green eyes shifted to Akemi, still smiling. "Wouldn't you agree?"
