A tummy rumble was a bad way to start any day. A tummy rumble that bad was a TERRIBLE start to a Monodramon’s day. He could barely move a muscle, other than tumbling around holding his belly. So hungry, but he ate pretty late last night, and so well too. He ate that green and brownish thing the nice-smelling human in the white robes and white hat had. Normally they kept that thing inside the human restaurant, so Monodramon couldn’t get to it, but this time some grim-looking human with glasses smelled it and put his tongue out to touch it, then pointed and yelled at another human who then yelled at the human with the white hat and white robes, who threw away a lot of plates of that green and brown pasty thing. Come to think of it, there sprinkles of white too, and those weren’t as usual, but still it had been a plentiful and delicious meal!
So why was it that he was now unable to stand up long enough to even get out of his hideout treasury? Monodramon found himself getting stung by his own collection several times as he rolled around in his current state, in particular he stung himself in the pieces of the collection that broke or in the tiny weapons he found in the treasure cans at times. As he rolled and rolled, his nose caught wind of a certain sweet scent. Sniffing the air and thankful for the momentary distraction, Monodramon approached the source of the scent, finding the tip of his mouth suddenly jammed into a glass jar. It was a little sticky on the walls, the reason why being obviously the contents of said jar. Monodramon opened his eyes, though he had a good guess of what it was he stuck his mouth/nose into. Yup, exactly. It was that really sweet dark yellow thing. It was really sticky, in fact it made the fingers sticky the whole day when you ate from the jar, but it was so good! If there was ever a doubt that the treasure cans were full of great human gifts, then it was things like these that dismissed such silly doubts. He remembered very well how he acquired it.
It was pretty fresh when he acquired this jar of the sweet yellow thing, during a fateful afternoon in which he crossed the open streets. A risky move, no doubt, but thanks to his attack he was able to camouflage even in open spaces like that. The street was empty enough that he had no need to worry about bumping into someone and having his cover blown, until that moment when he heard a slightly screeching noise of metal rubbing against metal. From this very clean, well-built, fancy-looking home came a little human girl in pigtails, opening the green gate from her home and cheerfully skipping towards the treasure cans near her home. The transparent gloves she wore held a trio of white bags., which she gently placed by her side. She took a few moments to gaze at the treasure cans, one with a blue lid, one with a yellow lid and the final one with a green lid. The human smiled, clapped her hands twice, and opened the blue and yellow lids. Then she reached down and grabbed two of the bags shaking them. Once more she smiled, and hurled the two inside, allowing them but a brief moment in the air before they landed down onto the treasure cans. Lastly, the girl opened the grin lid, and did something very strange. Instead of dumping the last bag there, she grabbed the sides of the treasure can and slowly pulled it down. Her arms were shaking, so were her legs. It was clearly too much for her. Monodramon approached and went around the girl, even getting to witness the moment her foot slipped and the girl nearly lost balance, losing her hold on the treasure can too. Without thinking twice, Monodramon placed himself under the treasure can, holding it up just enough that it wouldn’t hurt the human while still making it seem like she was holding the can herself. She continued to lower it, and Monodramon stepped away from it accordingly, curious about what the girl would want to do about it. She moved over to the last remaining bag and opened it, revealing several glass objects inside. Well, some were of a weird type of brown glass, one which Monodramon had only briefly seen in Whitewater. This human was probably very well off, then. It made sense why she had such a fine posture and simple and delicate, yet refined gestures, like digimon of high society. As expected she handled the treasures with glee and pride, like someone doing their duty and expecting praise from someone even more important to them.
One by one, she carefully removed the glass objects from the white bag and placed them gently into the treasure can. She avoided touching the treasures already inside, but still seemed to plan and adjust the new ones she was adding to it to fit in some way. The last one she took was this really sweet smelling jar, containing some kind of yellow substance. Monodramon knew right away he wanted it, badly. As soon as the girl was finished placing the thing inside the treasure can, Monodramon climbed onto it’s exposed side and slipped as quickly as he could inside the treasure can. He felt something hitting my tail though, and grew worried, but the human girl said nothing. Instead, with effort, she simply pushed the treasure can back up.
Just as Monodramon began moving to take the treasure, he heard a knock on the side of the treasure can.
“I’m sure your momma will be very proud too. Thank you for helping me earlier.”

Frankly, the scent of the jar was now becoming nauseating. Also a little hard to breathe with. Monodramon grabbed it’s sides with both hands and pulled it out of his nose. Wait… Looking at the lights behind him, the day was already nearing it’s end now. Had he gotten so lost in his nostalgia that he had fallen asleep? How long DID he sleep?
Now that Monodramon thought about it, he didn’t feel any of the pain anymore. Maybe he had gotten better while he slept! Or maybe the yellow thing’s scent helped? He wasn’t sure. What he WAS sure about though, is that now there was a different kind of pain, since he hadn’t eaten all day and his stomach made sure to growl about it as soon as he got into a sitting position. Smiling to himself, Monodramon internally thanked the curious human girl he met that day, and got up, leaped out of the hole in the building where he kept the collection he took from the human treasure cans and carried on his neverending quest for food.
