Several novels weighed their outlines and prints into Sho's satchel. He'd been back for another digital weekend. After another week of school and part-timing, bouncing between bookstores and bulletin boards, he'd finally felt the animalistic pull back here. Sho was walking from the Trailmon station, not having touched his digivice since he'd been around. All he knew about this trip was one thing. She had to be somewhere...The books he brought were for her, he was here to check on her. It was finally something new, something that he could seek out and search for other than some magical cure or unfathomable power.
Sho was sure that Wakako had her own magical power over him.
His footfalls had finally found the teal Network Plains once again. Sho held his satchel over his back and wiped his brow despite how much cooler this area was than where he was before. His glasses were still cracked...He'd pushed the lens right in, and the line over his vision hadn't bothered him much. Sho didn't have much of a hard time hiding that from anyone, he was sure someone here would ask about it. At least someone here in this world, even if he barely knew anyone.
Sho didn't know what shadow was flying over his head right now. Darkening the grass, making him flinch as he looked upwards towards that giant, wandering form...He froze, just trying to let it pass over him before he could look up at what monstrous thing had made his presence known. The cracking line over the lenses of his glasses couldn't hide what he was seeing. The complex of buildings and flats...From his angle, he was so far below it. He was alone below that floating place.
He still hadn't found her yet.
Sho picked up his Digivice, glancing at it as he began to stroll towards the line of trees outside of the fields. He looked at it as he began to run, making sure he'd truly taken hold of the power of Griffomon as he trotted that line of trees, searching. He turned on his radar just to search for her. I mean, she had to see this right? A giant, floating set of buildings above the plains...Even if she was in her digital form, she'd be able to see that right?
Sho arrived at a tree, looking up in slight bashful interest...He'd tried to nap in a tree once. He yelled slightly, hoping she'd at least be able to hear if she was close...
"Wakako, It's me, Sho!" It was his voice...just a little bit clearer. Just a little bit more tired. He'd been around just a little longer.

The past few months have been hard to adjust to for Wakako, with good reason. Everything she had ever known was rendered useless in this new world she found herself trapped in... The Digital World whether she liked it or not operated very differently from the human world, requiring Wakako to adapt. Here, easy answers weren't always available... She had to stock up on food and water, stay out of the harsh elements of the Digital World, and of course keep out of danger. This was like camping, but four times as difficult.
She had a room in the Great Moving Library (provided by miss Yukiko), but Wakako avoided trying to actively tap into the club's resources. Any food of hers' was foraged or bought with her own bits, but the Library was in a way a home for her. It was the one place she could fall back to when she had no place to go... and while it didn't cure her crippling homesickness, it made her feel safe.
It was fortunate that Sho had taken the time to actively call out to the young Spirit Wielder, for she was in ear-shot of the call. The Jumimon had a small basket they had been carrying with their tail, the tiny dragon having been busy plucking fruit from the verdant branches of the forest by the library; she was in the middle of plucking a particularly juicy-looking red apple when she paused her fluttering... their eyes widening as their core skipped a beat at that wonderful sound.
Wasting no more time, Wakako plucked the fruit off with her nub-like forearms as her hindlegs held a brilliant-red spherical jewel, she quickly shoving the fruit into the basket that was almost as large as she was! With that task done, the Jumimon excitably began to fly towards the direction of the sound... the sound of Sho's voice!
She didn't get to see Sho too often... it could be days or weeks before she'd get to see any particular member of the club again usually, but Sho was the one she looked forward to seeing from time to time again the most... perhaps since they probably understood the most what she was going through. The moment that the tiny dragon was able to spot the bespectacled boy, she let out a soft squee as she fluttered up to their side, nuzzling their face. "Sho! I missed you so much!" the Rookie giggled childishly, letting out a soft purring sound as her wings flapped rapidly to keep herself aloft.

His face nearly flew back at the appearance of the small dragon from the shock. But despite his yelp, he eventually gave into Wakako's nuzzling in Jumimon form, beginning to chortle in contentedness. Sho pushed up his slightly cracked glasses, hoping not to cut her as she nudged in. He backed up again to really see what she was now, able to smile at her smaller form...She'd learned since he was gone...And Sho had forgotten how much he liked the sound of purring, or how much he'd read the word "purr" in a book.
"Well, miss no longer! I'm back..." Sho declared, bowing to the eight-inch dragon carrying her fruits and gleaming red gem. There was some warming satisfaction he had in seeing her surviving like this. At the same time, he couldn't help but glance back at that giant floating mass pushing through the skies above him. "I missed you too, and I remembered that you liked books...so I kinda bought a bunch from the Human World..." Sho sheepishly introduced his haul of novels as he swung it around and off his back, opening his satchel to show it off. He shrugged, at least able to smirk at his selection.
"I haven't touched them, don't like spoiling stuff like that..." He nodded, sounding at least semi-proud of himself for showing so much restraint. Sho would've read each and every one, but he didn't exactly feel like lying about something that childish. He had to be someone better around her at least, if not anyone else.
"How've you been faring? I feel like I haven't seen you in forever." His voice quietened a bit, the ever-present fact of digital time dilation hitting him like a bag of bricks. At least he was here now, for this little piece of time. Not like the little, salvaged speaker in the back of his bag...Sho hadn't been there except for the echo...

Despite the small dragon's size, they showed no fear to the human as they excitably fluttered around them. What was perhaps only a week to Sho was a little more than a month of time to Wakako since they have last seen eachother, which really only drove home how distant the two worlds were. If anything, she was genuinely relieved to see someone that she really liked again.. if at least for a day or two her time. The Sprite-Hybrid's eyes lit up at the mention of books, they finally taking notice of the book-crammed bag Sho was holding. "R-Really? Are these... for me?" the small fae-like Digimon squeaked in disbelief, she briefly gasping at such an idea as she peeked her head into the bag.
She couldn't believe Sho remembered! It seemed like such a little thing to mention prior, but these really were books from the human world! Actual, normal books! She could see plenty of novels of all types and genres, some more meaty-looking than others... Still an extremely welcome addition! She only had the books at the Great Moving Library to read, and while there were some that were translated to katakana... they were all mostly non-fiction or were written by Digimon. It was going to be nice to read something written by a human for once. "Y-You could have read them if you wanted to! Maybe you could find something at the Library to read? Digimon books are pretty interesting in their own right." the Jumimon quipped as she gazed back at Sho, an extremely appreciative look on her face. "Th-Thank you so much! I-I wish I could do for you in return..."
When it came to how she was handling things since they last saw eachother, she was not quite as blind to her surroundings. She wasn't a lost child, unable to defend themselves... Even if at times she still felt unsure of the world around her. "I-I'm doing I think okay! I've been learning how to use my spirits a bit more efficiently now... I can actually hold Alexandramon for an entire day now without resting if I focus!" the Jumimon proudly spoke, that having been something she had been working on... Alexandramon was her only Digimon form that could really fight, so it was something she wanted to master. "I-I've not been able to find any more of my spirits... but some nice people have been letting me stay at their library."

Confusion began to color each of his expressions as he looked between the line of trees he was shaded under and the large floating construct he could still make out from above him. Sho's lips were still in a prideful smile, something that was steadily melting away into bewilderment as he put two and two together. All that time he was gone was beginning to feel heavier on his shoulders by the second...He stretched out his collar and cleared his throat, beginning to find his words.
"U-Up there? Is that where it is or am I just jumping the gun? I can almost make out the type of buildings up there...s-so I'm just getting the feeling." Sho shuddered at the mere sight, still narrowing his eyes in annoyance at his own human vision. His glasses couldn't compensate for the eyes of a Bastemon...it wasn't even close. He huffed, nudging them up to the top of his nose with a thumb before turning back to Wakako with a slight bow again.
"Sorry, my mind is making logic leaps again! I should've just started telling you what I was up to in the Digital World instead..." Sho chuckled nervously, standing up straight and feeling the clarity seep back into his voice. He packed up his satchel once again, not wanting to overload her small form with tons of paper. Though she might be used to it now, especially if she was living this close to an actual library, and a digital one at that.
"I've been getting better with my forms, too. And I have a few more now since we last met. It's all really exciting, and I cooked and explored a whole bunch...Erm...I guess it's a long story." His eyes began to dart bashfully, sitting on the ground with his Digivice in hand. He began to flick through his functions as he remembered the many recordings and messages he had in the past...
He'd yet to find a solution for many of them...
"I guess you could say I've been able to soar a lot higher now, heh..." Sho scoffed, fighting the frustration that inked his mind.

"Mmhmm! They call it a moving library... They do science experiments to try and learn about the Digital World and stuff... Though I kinda am not too interested. They are all nice people though." the Jumimon was quick to correct Sho, a bit excitable about describing it. She was while not terribly interested in learning about the Digital World, it was somewhat needed now that she was stuck in this world... Knowledge was power after all.
The Rookie set her basket down on the ground as she fluttered up to Sho's shoulder, patiently listening to them... It was honestly comforting to know that she wasn't the only one to be making progress here regarding finding their own spirits! If anything, hearing that Sho had a couple new ones too lifted her own spirits that she'd be able to keep up the pace! "Oh! Did you get another form that can fly, Sho?" she cheerfully quipped, trying to imagine what other Digimon Sho would have been able to turn into. Tsukaimon was... a rather interesting-looking Digimon, but she couldn't really figure out what kinda direction they would have been able to go evolutionary-wise.
It dawned to Wakako that there WAS actually one form she could show off! It was acquired a bit after she and Sho found her first ones, but since then she had been at a bit of a stalemate searching for more. "Oh! I know I said I didn't find anymore, but there IS one I did find!" she was quick to excitably say as she fluttered off Sho's shoulder, their form enveloped by fractal coding as the tiny dragon's frame shifted to a form that was relatively more human-size... taking on a gray rabbit-like appearance, a brilliantly-gleaming red ruby adorning their head. While nowhere near as tall as Alexandramon, and even only standing about half a foot shorter than Sho... the Chromiamon was much more developed-looking than Jumimon, Wakako lightly landing on the ground with her powerful gemstone-like legs.
The lapine-like human-hybrid stared at Sho somewhat expectantly, her ears twitching cutely as she smiled; Wakako crossing her fingers in the hopes that she made at least a good impression. This form was much more useful to her for daily-living compared to Jumimon and Alexandramon... Small and fast enough to get about, but much stronger than her human form! "D-Do you like it? I think it looks pretty ~" she squeed, picking up the basket of fruit.
