Mae felt at peace. One of the strangest feelings to be confronted with, really, based solely upon how rare it was. But yet...It was. She felt like she wasn't alone in the world. That made her feel happy. After all, that's why she was purring, right? The cat closed her eyes before she opened them at Wakako's questions.
Keep in touch? How so? "Err...Sure. But...How? Where do you live? Do those...nice people like Meicoomon...?" It was a lot of questions but they were actually quite important. She was no sedentary creature--she had to stay on the move. "...A-And is your home away from any puppet men with twin swords...?"

There was something soothing about Mae's presence... Wakako didn't have many joys in life these days, but she was able to for just a bit forget her worries. Obviously, she wanted to be able to meet Mae again later! They were friends... were they?
"W-Well... I just sorta assumed you maybe lived here on the plains? Theres a big building thats always on the move called the Great Moving Library that I live in. Its ran by a bunch of nice humans and Digimon, they taking me in when I first arrived in the Digital World. I-I just kinda figured if we wanted to be friends, we'd want to be able to see eachother more!" the girl explained, helping to pack some of Mae's things for them... she probably did need to head back there soon enough, but this trip back to the library had gone so much nicer than she anticipated!
Regarding Meicoomon... was that what Mae was right now? She honestly had forgot she had a scanner on her Digivice... but it seemed rude to scan people without asking. "I-I don't think they dislike them? Theres one Digimon that looks like you, Mae... Like with the... tentacles?" she quizzically spoke, soon enough gently palming one of the tendril that grew from Mae's collar fluff... it just as soft as Mae herself. "What are they anyway? I've never seen cats with... these?"
Regardless... Wakako wanted Mae to trust her. It was clear that whoever this puppet man she was scared of was... well, a major jerk. Still, the girl smiled warmly as she closed her eyes while flashing a grin. "... No puppet men, but if one shows up? I promise I'll kick his butt with you! Thats what friends are for!"

"I don't...really live anywhere. I just come and go like a creepy unwanted house ghost." Mae didn't really enjoy how she had worded that, but she felt as though it were the truth. Little more than that, actually. She listened to Wakako's words, before tilting her head. "Great...Moving Library...Are...you inviting me there?" She asked. It was a carefully articulated question in her eyes.
Mae's feelers/tendrils did not move when they were picked up. But, she saw fit to explain that anyways. "They're like...feelers. I can move them and arrange them however I want...And...that's good. Puppet men usually try to delete me. Always fails but...It's kind of scary..."
Wait.
One that looked like her? "...There's more than one of me?"

Oof... You know, Wakako realized it made sense Mae was a bit nomadic considering the tent, but it did hurt to hear she didn't really have a home. If it weren't for miss Yukiko, would she have been stuck in the same position? Regardless, it hurt having an idea of what that must have been like for Mae... seriously, that girl needed a hug. "W-Well, yeah! Its a really cool place that is filled with tons of books to read, plus maybe they'd let you stay too eventually? It is a big place after all..."
Maybe it was best not to make promises, but she wanted to do something for Mae. They were the first reminder for Wakako that maybe she didn't have the worst deal ever. This puppet man guy has been trying to delete Mae...? Multiple times even? Man, being marooned in an alien world kinda paled to that in ways. "I-I bet its scary... It was scary for me too when I had to fight a mean Sorcermon who tried to kill me and another human. ... That was when I first awoken to my power." she somewhat solemnly spoke, though gently smiled to Mae. "But I like to think it gets easier when you have friends. Its not as rough when you aren't alone." she spoke, gently grasping Mae's hand.
... Man, who would have thought her first real friend would be an alien cat or something? Not the weirdest thing to happen to her so far, but up there.
"... I'd think? I mean, if you were the only one of your kind; then why would people want to hurt you because your a Meicoomon? That must just mean there was once a really BAD Meicoomon once... but thats not you, so I wouldn't worry about it!" she pluckily spoke, though briefly seemed to wonder to herself. "Funny. No one seems to have ever heard of my forms... Least no one I know."

Books and a place to stay? Mae's ears twitched a few times to indicate that her undivided attention had been snagged. "A...Sorcermon...? That's bad..." Mae mumbled, before she attempted to do that thing cats do where they just straight up press their head against you to Wakako.
Something that had been taught to and instilled in her from the getgo was that everything was better with a friend to weather through it with. Though, when one really thought about it? It had to make sense that there had been more than one Meicoomon. "...Or there's a few really bad ones...I should stop the bad ones. Then the good ones can stop hiding, if there are any....Um...What are your forms? Aside from the...carbuncle...thing?"

"He was really scary... I... We tried to tell him to stop, but he wouldn't listen. I-I guess I just hope he's okay now... Digimon get reborn if they die normally, don't they?" the girl somewhat timidly spoke, her eyesight drawn a bit away from Mae briefly as she remembered that awful incident. It... It felt as if she lost a bit of herself that day, despite having stole a chunk of their foe's data and gaining her first two Spirits. Still, Mae's soft nuzzling calmed her down as she smiled; scratching behind the orange maine coon's ears trying to find the right spot.
It seemed likely that bad Meicoomon existed... Which was kinda hard to believe though considering how cute Mae was. Still, you could never really base people off just looks alone... she full-heartily agreed with Mae least with that conclusion though. "Definitely! If its because of some bad ones mucking up your species' reputations, they should be stopped! Or we could convince people to not be racist? I think thats the bigger problem than anything honestly, at least from what I know about humans too. We've had a lot of bad things happen because of racism just between humans in history, which just makes no sense to me." the girl quietly mused, she at least a bit more open to realizing that anyone could be a bastard if they tried hard enough.
Regarding her forms, Wakako thought it best to simply show Mae firsthand. Getting up, the girl pulled out her D-Tector and slashed at its side with a band of fractal code that materialized around her palm... her form enveloping in light as it shifted in shape... leaving behind a tiny little reptile with fairy-like wings holding a pretty, red stone. "This is my Rookie form, Jumimon! I kinda just got this one naturally honestly... I guess since its kinda weak. I-I don't think I even have a real attack actually!" the small drake spoke as she fluttered up to Mae, perching on their head. She was no bigger than most In-Trainings actually!

"Crazy people don't really think very right. They don't...understand stuff like that. The puppet man's like that too. I don't even think he can talk...Um...I think they do. Maybe he'll come back feeling better?" The cat spoke. It was hard to focus. No, really, scratches behind the ears were a little disorienting for Mae. Not to say it wasn't welcome, though. Her purring got louder. It was kind of like a little motor.
"I don't know how many people I'd need to convince or if I even could...So I guess I should just keep doing stuff like I have. And trying my best." The human world was a mystery to her. But to hear similar things have happened? ...At least it wasn't just...them. Mae glanced at Wakako as she got up and spirit evolved...Into a little dragon?
Curious. The Meicoomon reached up to gingerly, almost cautiously pet the drake sitting on her head. "...It's so tiny...I bet it's...good for stealth. And fitting in places." The cat mused aloud. "...I think I was that size when I was a Kuramon..."

The way people's heads ticked was a scary concept really... Both she and Mae it seems have been on the running end of belligerent people who refused to listen... though at least on her end she hasn't had someone practically stalking her. This puppet man guy unnerved Waka a ton... What drove a person to be so relentlessly murderous? It... it was scary to imagine considering she sincerely doubt Mae had anything to do with it. "Thats all we can do. We can try to help people, but we also have to make sure we help ourselves... My mom once told me that you can't help someone who does not want to be helped often not."
The tiny Jumimon let out a soft, affectionate trill as felt her head scratched slightly... Funny how one moment the reverse was happening between the two of them, wasn't it? Regardless, Mae certainly was wise thinking about stuff besides just fighting... Maybe it wasn't a powerhouse form, but even this form had uses! "Yup! I guess being tiny is nice for some things ~ Its just kinda hard to fly with this gem though!" the tiny creature squeaked, soon taking off from Mae's head and distancing herself slightly from the feline... the light of Digivolution enveloping her one more time.
This form was much larger than Jumimon, and even Chromiamon was barely as tall as the crystalline dragoness that now floated calmly off the ground, their feathery-looking wings stretched out as they tilted their head downward. While lacking limbs, Mae would feel as if someone just took their paw... as if an invisible hand had gently grasped it. "... This is my other Champion level. The Human Spirit of Light, Alexandramon." Wakako spoke, though their voice perhaps sounded a touch more refined or mature. Still, their eyes delicately stared down at Mae... that gentle girl clearly still in this crystalline drake's soul. "... I hope I'm not scary. I... I don't really like this form as much Chromiamon... the rabbit?"

"Why wouldn't someone want to be helped...?" That bugged her. That bugged her a lot...She kept patting the Jumimon as she thought on that subject for a brief few moments, stopping once Waka had taken off from her head. She was expecting to see Chromiamon again, but this time she was greeted with a crystal dragon. One that...seemed to be holding her paw. Telekinetically.
She didn't feel fear. Then again, Mae wasn't sure what she felt, these days. It all felt...dull. "There's being tiny...and then there's this. I don't think you're scary...I think Chromiamon's more a carbuncle...rabbit...thing. I think this form looks neat though!"

"Either because they don't think they need it, or if they think the help would hurt." Wakako somewhat sadly mused... It didn't make sense to her, but that was sometimes how things worked. She admittingly was that type as well back in school, mostly because she didn't feel like she needed the extra help. She just... was a tad smarter than the rest, at least it felt like.
Despite her last form's larger size, it was clear they were still as gentle and delicate as prior. If anything, Wakako was actually kinda caught offguard that Mae didn't seem to mind it... She would have thought it to be intimidating if she had been in their position? "R-Really? You think so? I-I... Thank you. I-I guess I just kinda have only ever used this for fighting or intimidating people." the dragoness somewhat timidly spoke, letting out an awkward laugh.
Wakako shortly after released that particular form... sliding back to her Chromiamon form and put back to a more reasonable height compared to Mae. Her claw was holding Mae's hand, just as if the telekinetic reach from Alexandramon naturally shifted to allow her hand to remain holding Mae's; she releasing her grip. "... I-I kinda admit, I mostly idle in my Digimon forms. Do you think thats weird? I... I guess I just find them more comfortable." the carbuncle somewhat meekly spoke as she slung her bag around her shoulders once more.
... It was probably time to get going... but Mae was so fun to talk to.

"But why would the help even hurt anyone...?" More confounding stuff. Confusing. Hnnnnngh. "Of course I do! I don't think there's a lot in the world that can scare me and I might be a little weird like that but that doesn't make you scary or anything...If it makes you feel any better, I sort of...usually use this form for fighting too. Or when I need to run a lot." As Alexandramon had given way to Chromiamon, Mae found her hand still being held for a few moments, before Wakako let go. "...I don't think that's weird. I mean...it's one way to blend in around here if you're stuck..."
Mae did notice that Wakako was grabbing her bag. Oh...Did she have to leave? The cat's ears drooped a little bit. She didn't quite want to be left alone...
"...Can I come with you?" That request sounded so meek and quiet that it probably hurt someone.

You know, Mae'a logic didn't sound wrong in her head. Digimon probably had different opinions on what was scary or not, plus different forms had different uses and niches. Maybe that was why she had been feeling like her human form was being less and less relevant? The carbuncle softly nodded with a insightful look in her eyes as she dwelled on this... It all made sense at the least. "I suppose... Us humans are kinda guinea pigs in the Digital World it seems. The humans with partners rely on them to stay safe, and the humans with Spirits have to find and channel them if we get in trouble." she quietly mused as her D-Tector vanished... recalled back into her data if needed.
While she was preparing to leave, Wakako paused as Mae asked her one last thing... they wanted to come with her? The human hybrid's eyes widened, but a hint of excitement formed on her face at such a prospect. Mae must have been really lonely... Honestly, the fact that she was able to do something to help someone as sweet as Mae warmed Wakako's heart as she smiled. "Of course! How about I help you get packed and we'll go to the Library together!" she eagerly spoke, eyeing the tent and Mae's possessions.

"Guinea pigs or not, you're still capable of...so much if given enough time...That much I know..." Mae nodded. Now, she had heard a lot. A lot about people. A lot about things concerning Digimon themselves. Naturally, her conclusion was that humans were the agents of change in this world when it came to non-Digimon-related things. "...Basically, your humanity...sorta makes you special in a lot of ways." Good and bad.
Wakako saying she could come with her caused the Meicoomon's eyes to figuratively light up. "Yes! Yesyesyes!" She said yes at least five times, goddamn. The Meicoomon quickly scrambled to start packing her things up. Thankfully, they weren't many in number. Wakako could easily assist her and it'd be done in a matter of a few minutes.

Humanity made her special? Wakako hummed, trying to comprehend that statement... Was there a reason why humans like her were in the Digital World? She was unsure really how to think about that... especially since she really didn't want to be in this world to begin with, but maybe...?
She'd just have to see. She needed more spirits. Those were the key to her future now.
But for now... Wakako was practically gleaming hearing Mae so happy! It felt... It felt really good to have met someone so sweet and yet so sad, then help make their day less miserable. Was that a good thing...? She felt like it was at least. The Chromiamon giggled as she helped gather Mae's belongings; they soon enough finished.
"Alright! I think the Library is this way! I can't wait to show you all my favorite books, Mae! A-And we could make hamburgers there!" she cheerfully spoke as she took Mae's paw, happy to walk with them as fast or slow as needed.
Maybe there were good things about the Digital World after all?

The Chromiamon really did seem to have that sort of effect on Mae. Compared to how she was when she had found her, she was bright as a lighthouse. It was likely something else to see in action. Consequently, Mae felt like she helped Wakako too, to some degree. It also helped a bunch with packing Mae's stuff. Swift and simple!
"Wait, you think? Where is it actually...? I-Is it even actually a library?" The cat inquired as she walked with Wakako. This part of the plains...well, it was now something to remember.
It was where she had made her first friend.
