Cassandra slowly let out the breath she'd been holding as she stared down at the vial in her hand. She could sense it's need. It's hunger. It's drive to spread, but...she could not sense Phantom nor could it. Letting her gaze lift from the vial to the Bakemon the woman's gaze seemed to glow all the brighter crimson a fire sparking in her eyes that hadn't been seen in a long time.
"Even if it doesn't stop you from becoming infected neither the D-virus nor I can sense you." Cas explained a slow vicious grin spreading it's way across her face at the potential shown here.
"This, these cards, they'll be a game changer. The potential latent in this code...oh the things we'll be able to do!" The Doctor laughed bright and high and joyful, not even minding the way her vocal cords strained with the sound and cracked. She'd never been one for a fair or direct fight and given the chance to hit the D-reaper where it hurt. Oh she would take that chance gladly.
"I'd say this test has already been a rousing success. How are you holding Phantom? Any strain? Once the first card wears off I want to scan you again and see how you're doing and what your recovery period looks like. So we know how long it will be before a Digimon can evolve once more after using the Red card." The Doctor explained turning to return the vial back into the cooler for safe keeping.

"... The D-Virus can't sense me... but you can still certainly see me." The Bakemon corrected that perception, even as that smile spread across Cassandra's face. Indeed, that was a definite point to make:
"If that's the case, then its entirely possible that the D-Reaper's agents would be able to still assess you as an enemy - and, at the very least, those that are indoctrinated will definitely be able to assess the threat, and act accordingly." Syre gave a sigh: "Its a game changer, yes, but its probably too soon to call it an invisibility cloak. Used carelessly, it could just put a giant target on the user's back!"
"... Possibly. But if its viewed as a threat, then its potential as a weapon... doesn't that mean its proven itself?" The Bakemon's attention shifted from the cat to Cassandra. "Still nothing other than the buzz... we'll see where we are at the end of the test." With the vial returned, the group would continue to observe the Bakemon over the next several minutes. A few more target tests, a few more verbal assessments, tracking to see the core slow down at a gradual - and linear pace - until it would reach the Bakemon's base level.
Five percent below that, his data pulsed red again. The Bakemon gave a physical flinch, the red light surrounding him again, this time exploding outward in a luminous flash. He floated lower, soon resting on the ground, the Bakemon trying to catch his breath.
"Feels... like I just... floated ten miles..."

Doctor Cross sighed listening to the two bicker as she carefully pressed her fingers against her temples ignoring the pin prickle of pain from her still sensitive fingers as she tried to knead away her budding headache. Joy thankfully softening the soft throbbing of her temples.
"You are both right. They can still visibly see us, but that is a simple enough of a problem to overcome with hard light fields and other numerous digimon abilities or cards that lets one disappear from sight. All in all though it gives us an element of protection and sabotage we did not have before." Cassandra carefully explained as she monitored Phantom's cores slowdown rate. Finding much to her pleasure that it was steady and easily determined with attacks only dropping it at a set amount. When the red light dispersed leaving the Bakemon floating low to the floor and exhausted the Doctor was careful to stop the clock. Checking the time.
"Good job Phantom. Let me check you over for any side-effects. Are you detecting anything off with your core beyond extreme exhaustion?" Cas questions leveling her scanner on the Bakemon once more as she carefully inspects her patient.

Fourteen minutes, forty-seven seconds.
It was just about the time that Emma predicted, that the Bakemon would find himself slumped near the ground. Syre carefully documented the time, before coming in closer herself, trying to assess Phantom's condition... ugh, she couldn't tell anything from an undead ghoul like this ghost! The outer appearance remained largely the same, no matter what!
"Status... hm." Letting that scanner run over, showing a drastically reduced core spin rate - one that was slowly starting to increase, now that the code had been forced out - he gave a nod. "If anything, I would say that I'm not picturing how to Xros properly. It might be immensely difficult to Digivolve, even in an emergency, in this condition. And try as I might, mustering the energy to attack is pretty difficult... but not undoable."
He gave a groan. All the scanner would have to add is a slight change of angle to the core's spin, the previous 'card read' error now entirely gone. "If that is all, I might need to sleep off the rest of this..."
"Just shy of fifteen minutes..." Syre gave a blink, considering the ramifications of it. "Keeping track of time in a fight, getting in-and-out. Its a tall order, but... at least the options are there..."

"Hmm the angle of your core's spin is off by a hairs breadth. Not enough that I feel I need to keep you for observation, but once you've slept and rested I would like you to return so I can check and see if it's rightened itself. It may just be your form trying to recover after having such a great strain put on it." Cas mused putting her scanner away as she considered the Bakemon.
"You did a good job today Phantom. Do you need help back to your room? I'll need to do further testing to see if it's possible to contract a D-virus infection while the card is active, but I'll need a more solid test subject for that. You should take the remainder of the day off minimum. Preferably don't strain yourself for a day or two depending on if your cores spin settles out or not." The Doctor added carefully taking the tablet from Syre to jot down a few notes before handing it back.
