Amelie's expression brightened a bit at Luke's statement, even if it remained a bit somber. "I doubt it's a signal to lure out the D-Reaper, at least in its current iteration. But the whole deal doesn't seem... all that unlikely, in all honesty? I know it's usually wrong to have a results-oriented mindset, but if what happened in the Desert is anything to go by..."
She preferred to not finish the sentence, since its implications were on the dire side. And, in all honesty? The brunette had no reason at all to trust these people. Considering the shady nature of what had just happened, she even struggled to find one.
Luke's words had merit to them, however. "Well, that can have a variety of reasons to it. Depending on what's this... thing's true purpose, spreading it might be part of the plan all along. I have to say that the most likely case if they not quite accomplishing what they wanted to, even if there was at least some progress, maybe? I can't really say I understand this whole deal, but I can agree on you in the fact that, at least at a glance, it seems terribly shortsighted."
What if that was the whole point? Amy really couldn't be sure of anything regarding the whole episode. "Not doing their job for them sounds pretty smart." Finally, she managed a small smile after finishing her smoothie. "I have plenty of things to worry about at the moment to add random people's problems on top of them. Especially if they're not even willing to tell what this whole deal is about. A pretty bad deal, if you ask me."
Not much else could be said about the matter, and probably not much else deserved to be said, anyway! Even if her smoothie was finished, getting up to date with an old friend was something that could glue Amy to her chair for a fair bit longer. "Can't complain about how my life has been as of late, honestly! Last episode notwithstanding, of course; spirits are a bit injured, but they'll survive. Been a bit busy with my studies and a small project I have been slowly developing in here."
If Luke didn't look like he was interested in the topic, she'd stop right there. But if he did... "I'm planning on building a city on the Dark Area, even though I haven't gotten past the planning stages just yet." Amelie shrugged, making a small pause before adding. "How about you? How have you been and... do you have any plans on what to do until you reunite with Iko?"
All in all, this was more interesting than talking about recent events.

"Yeah... its either a case of them trying to rush it along, or taking a blind stab in the dark."
Luke was definitely with Amelie on that unspoken bit, though. What had any of them done to earn their trust in the end? Honestly it was a little unsettling that Iko ended up somewhere with that group, but so long as they weren't too rash, the tamer could always track down his partner with the Digivice itself. And as tricky as this topic was, Amelie and Luke eventually reached the same conclusion:
This wasn't their problem. At the very least, they had to put their own ducks in a row, first! As the conversation struck a more casual tone, Luke getting down to the last bit of his frozen drink, he gave a nod as Amelie explained her condition. "Heh... come to think of it I do have a term paper coming up. One of those things where I'm glad I have the 'extended' time of the Digital World to work with." That aside, it was good to hear that Amelie was doing alright - and very interesting to hear about her idea.
A city in the Dark Area? "Huh... honestly, they could use one. Fragment Village's looking far more desperate as of late - heck, you need help with that?" Luke gave a shrug: "I imagine sourcing resources out there is a bit of a nightmare, but so long as they're able to strike a good source of clean water, a city could branch around that!" That seemed to be the limiting factor, anyway!
AS for himself? "Can't complain. Iko and I have joined a team, 'Knights of the Rose' - something of a 'unified defense' against all the crazy shit that's been happening lately. And, um..."
Shit, what was he going to do?
"Hm. I was planning to stick to the main cities to at least keep myself 'covered'. Though when I go to pick him up, I guess I couldn't go out alone..."
Yeah, that was code for 'he didn't have a plan at all'.

Talking about something else for a change, rather than the implications of a data-devouring being that only knew of mindless destruction being manipulated by a group of shady individuals —or them trying to manipulate it, anyway— undoubtedly felt nice.
"I think I have a couple of midterms coming up. Nothing overly worrisome, but getting that boost of time definitely helps a fair bit, even though... in all honesty, I'd probably do better in my studies if the Digital World didn't exist. But life wouldn't be nearly as fun, to be honest!"
Of course, she appreciated her small project receiving a fair bit of genuine interest; the first response Luke got was a bit of a satisfied smile. "I know, right? The whole place has been neglected for so long... It's a true pity that nobody has tried to do something about the whole deal. ."
Help, however? That was definitely something Amelie would appreciate, as evidenced by the firm nod that came next. "I'm not in a position to be picky regarding this whole deal. If you want to help, I'd be more than happy to accept it. Thus far, securing a good place to begin building the foundations has been the most difficult task, but I think I have found the correct place."
Whether that was true or not, she'd find out soon enough! For now, that was more than enough exposition dumped on the poor guy. "Knights of the Rose?" For a second, Amy's expression contorted into a bit of a smirk. "That sounds corny as hell, but I take they're a group of very capable individuals if they have that kind of lofty goal. Would love to meet the full roster someday."
Truth to be told, Luke had gotten himself in an interesting situation, and just as he had offered his help, the brunette couldn't do anything less. "Well, if you need anything in the meantime, you know how to contact me. I'm probably not as strong as some of the people on your team, but if you ever need an additional pair of hands, I'm here."
He could take that for granted, at the very least.

"Hey, I agree with you there. Doesn't matter if we have seven days in one, if the Digital World throws us ten times as much stuff to take care of."
He gave a slight chuckle, honestly glad to be on a more normal line of conversation - which apparently involved building cities in the land of eternal darkness and joining verbosely named, well-meaning teams! Yes, the Digital World definitely had its own flare.
And apparently she had already figured out a place to set it up? "Heck, if you manage to pick up the land, sign me up! Well, soon as I have that wolf back, anyway." Yes, priorities, but he definitely seemed interested enough in the project - that, and the Knights of the Rose, who he gladly admitted had a silly name! "Honestly, its just a start-up of our own right now. Its just... myself and Iko, an Angemon, and a Shutmon working on it, though the Shutmon has plans to expand pretty quickly. She dropped a pretty penny on the base for so few people, that's for sure..."
Finishing off the rest of the drink, he returned a nod to Amelie. "Same to you, of course. I'll probably get the bike tuned back up to shape just in case I need it, but it'd definitely be handy to have a 'Digimon' on hand. Not that you're... well, you get what I mean."
Well, he tried not to take it too much for granted, anyway! "What plans do you have from here? I mean, um... short-term."

Well, at least that much was obvious! At least un the real world, neither human would have to face their own lives to be threatened on a daily basis. Even though they wouldn't have as much fun, either, so... it kinda balances it out, in the end? Probably!
There are a few things as bad as a boring life, undoubtedly. A moment of respite would probably be nice every now and then, but Amelie probably had forfeited that right as soon as she decided she wanted to construct a city. "I'll have that in mind! Both you and Iko would definitely be an asset regarding this whole deal. And it's not like I'd be dumb enough to refuse somebody trying to help."
She let out a short laugh at her own comment, even though every word she said carried a bit of weight. This endeavor had a real possibility of being bigger than her, so being humble about it made sense.
The so-called Knights of the Rose seemed like an interesting group, that was for sure! "A Shutmon, huh? That's... not something you see every day." The brunette made a thoughtful pause. "The only one I know is called K."
Frankly, it'd be a small world if K was truly behind this whole endeavor, even though... it wouldn't be that shocking she had come with such a corny name. Or a sudden drop of cash for the sake of kick-starting things. "I'm sure you'll become pretty famous in due time."
Amy appreciated Luke's offer, naturally smiling at it. "I'd dare to say that the one who needs help at the moment is you." Even if it wasn't long until it turned to a smirk. "Hope you can get your bike back on shape, too. Back there it was a lifesaver, even though..."
A nonchalant shrug ensued. "I'm not petty enough to take offense at being called a digimon. To an extent, it's a true statement. Don't you think?" Not like that was a particularly important remark to make, anyway... even though Luke seemed to be a bit flustered about that for some reason. "Short-term plans? None at all, except what I've been doing thus far. As fantastic as what happened moments ago was... it's not really impactful on my everyday. Wish I could say the same about you."
All in all, the recent events weren't something Amelie was overly concerned about.

Small world?
Small world. Honestly, Luke had no idea how common Shutmon were to begin with, but he wasn't expecting the name that Amelie gave to match. But as soon as she brought up K, the tamer couldn't help but give a chuckle. "Heh... well, K's the one leading the whole thing. Sounds like she gets around, at least?" Could that have been more than a coincidence? Still, he gave a nod at Amelie's vote of confidence. "We'll make the best of it we can, anyway. Iko's enjoying the atmosphere, at least."
Amelie's next point was returned with a shrug and a nod. "Well, we're all humans in this world of crazy monsters - needing help might be our default if we're trying to settle into it." Still, he was confident enough that he'd be able to handle it. "Eh, don't worry about the bike. I'd much rather it be trashed than, well, what would have been the alternative."
Right, no need to go into the gritty detail on that. She was alright with being called a Digimon? "Hm... I guess, but I can also see where some might want to draw the line." And it wasn't a line he really wanted to test all too much. It seemed that Amelie wanted to simply move on from what had happened, and to that, Luke could agree.
"Here, here. Honestly, I'd like to hit up one of these coffee places with you again... well, minus the whole 'running from the end of the world' bit, of course."

It had been K, huh? Well, talk about surprises!
"Leading the whole thing? That sounds very interesting! She's a very fast grower, the fastest I've ever seen." Amelie mad a small pause, almost nodding at her own statement. "That organization is gonna go places, of that much I'm sure. That girl can be really driven when she wants to!"
At the end of the day, what mattered the most was that the two seemed comfortable with the knights. If every other member felt the same about the whole deal, there wasn't much to be worried about. The team would take off at the speed of sound, more or less.
Luke was very right on his following point, however. As funny as it was, they were the ones that were alien in this foreign world, and that was something that had to be present in their minds. "Fair enough. I guess that we... kinda owe our lives to that bike; even if it's not in the best shape, at least I can say with a measure of confidence that it's among the best purchases you've made."
Probably not the best remark to make, but it was true! With any luck, he wouldn't mind that too much, just like she hadn't minded being called 'a digimon'. "I just think that people love to take offense at pretty much everything nowadays. How others decide to call me doesn't change who or what I am, don't you think? At least that's how I like to think about it."
Maybe the topic was just uncomfortable for the guy. Understandable. "I'd love to hang out again, however! This time without life-threatening situations, if possible! Who knows, maybe I'll even get to know your newly-minted team's base of operations? I'd be surprised if K hadn't thought about having somebody serving coffee or other refreshments, considering her previous life as an innkeeper."
She let out an inconspicuous giggle before continuing. "But, for now... I think we're pretty much done? Except for... well; the elephant in the room." Her gaze slowly shifted towards the majorly-unconscious Impmon. "What are we gonna do with him? I don't mind getting him to my home, but I take you have a better plan since... you have known him for way more time than me."
He probably had an idea already, but asking was never a bad thing!

"I agree. She's very well-driven, at the very least. Pretty straightforward, but I guess you'd have to be to try and organize something like that."
Indeed, Iko and Luke were quite comfortable with the ideas of the knights - and the former couldn't help but agree with the value of the bike! He gave a laugh, and an appreciative nod. "Well, can't argue with that... and, hm." The next topic was, indeed, a bit uncomfortable, but it was clear that Luke could at least see where she was coming from.
But it seemed it was all starting to wind down! "Oh, of course - I'll let you know the coordinates when the place is open for visitors. K's still working on the installation for the base, so its pretty crowded, and... oh, right."
The Impmon. "I can handle him. At the very least, I have my own place in the 'real' world, so its not like I'd have to try that hard to hide him. The bugger could use a good breather after all of this..."
Yeah, that was the understatement of a century!

It had been an enjoyable gathering, for sure. Even if it was slowly... winding down. Some topics were more pleasant than others, but at least the conversation was ending on a positive note. That's what mattered!
"I'll look forward to visiting your place once that actually becomes a thing, then! Knowing K, I'm sure that It'll be a pretty amazing sight to behold. Maybe I'll even get some inspiration from it."
She laughed a bit at that comment. "Wonder how many people will the team have by then, and if I'm acquaintances with any of them. It'd be a pretty small world if I ended up knowing all the members of the main cast, wouldn't it?"
That'd be a bit unlikely, but it was still a funny thought. "I guess Isaac will be safer with you; hope he can recover! He seemed a bit dazed when trying to wake up." So much that he had gone back to being unconscious for the rest of their conversation! "Tell me if his condition improves, okay? You have my address, so a message every now and then won't hurt!"
Standing up after those words, she gave Luke one last smile. "Time to go for me. It was fun! Good luck in regards to Iko, Isaac and the bike. You'll need it!"
After a wave, the brunette turned and began to walk outside the café. To say this had been a weird day was an understatement, but the ending hadn't been half bad. [Exit Thread]
