To Safeguard the Future [K]
|
Post by Toki Akiyama on Oct 31, 2018 2:40:06 GMT
Rosewood was coming along great as far as Toki knew. So many digimon gathered together and felt comfort in the community they had formed. It wasn't an easy road to get here, but it warmed his heart to see so many working together and learning from one another. If they were attacked, they had each other's backs to fend off at least some opposition. What worried him for the future, however, was what would happen if an Ultimate or worse, Mega, decided to attack. Stronger Digimon needed to make their home here. Maybe that would be something they did in later development steps. Ultimates and Megas making their home here would be a huge boon, especially if they set up a training ground to help those who want to protect their home here gain the strength to do so.
Toki sat on a bench near one of the flower gardens along the outskirts of the developing little town as he took in the atmosphere. Once more he worked on class work while in the Digital World to take advantage of the time differences. Was it cheating? Well, he was still legitimately studying...he shrugged that off and continued his reading. He thought about the people he had met and hoped they were all still doing okay. Part of him felt guilty that he hadn't seen many of them recently, but hopefully he would see them again soon. He had grown a lot stronger since seeing many of them, something he couldn't wait to talk about.
His Beast Spirit was still something he was nervous about using a lot, but he was slowly coming to terms with it. He hadn't used it recently, having relied on his Champion form for a lot of the encounters he had been in...or his Armor Champion in the event of a Dark Tower.
"Thinking about your past accomplishments, hm? It is good to meditate on the positive things you have done." his spirit said, proud of him.
Toki smiled a bit "Yeah...there's a lot more I want to do, I just have to find out how I'm going to get there. It's a bit overwhelming now that I'm at that point where I'm strong enough for a lot of scenarios..."
"Be that as it may, you still have so much potential to better yourself and those around you. Give it time. You have already brought so much peace and happiness to those you have helped save and inspire."
He blushed "Oh come on, I don't think I'm that inspiring..."
"You're being modest again. It is a good trait, but do not undersell your achievements."
A couple of Rookie levels approached Toki to ask if he could help brace a pillar while they get it secured. "Yeah, sure, I'll be right there!" he put his books away and followed them to the area they needed help with. It was a wooden beam, something he could probably take care of without Digivolving "Alright, do what you have to!" he said, bracing himself against the beam. He heard them hammer away and get things secured.

"Look K I want to help you I really do, but I can't put more finances into this until you actually do something with the Knights as a whole. How many members do you even have at this point?"
"Lucci I have to speak of, myself, a tamer pairing and a solo digimon that's guarding the place. In order to do something it'd have to be either me and or the tamer pairing."
"You can do something on your own K, you know that."
"There's no point to it being just me it'll just give my own name more power not the knights."
"With how much you're putting into this, the knights already share a large hold of your name too. Hand and Hand, you can't avoid something like this. That and you're powerful so a lot of places already have their eyes on you. You could of started up anywhere bigger and made much more headway than a dinky town just starting up."
"We need another place like this Lucci. It's been too long since the digital world has built rather than rebuild. People are starting to lose faith and hope."
The shutmon sighed and shook her head a little bit as she walked down the street, her ears flicking quietly as her call progressed. She had spent most of the night and morning making calls; dealing with people and finding that she had more individuals banking on this than she thought.
"Aren't there a lot of bandits in that area?"
"There are but-"
The shutmon paused as she caught a familiar scent, blinking a bit and the shutmon turned her head to try to make sense of where it was coming from. In such a small town and in such a small place the scents would be easy to pick apart. Going into a large city was painful in forms that held a wolfish nature but in somewhere smaller like this... Well. The shutmon's attention eventually slid to the sight of a human bracing itself against a beam while some rookies hammered away at it.
"Lucci I'll call you back once I have something for you."
"Wait-
"Send me a message over tamernet, but we're done here."
"K I-"
The shutmon turned off the call with a sigh and shook her head. Trotting over to the individual that she no doubt recognized as a certain Toki Akiyama. A person that while she had only met a handful of times had made a positive impact on those around him. Her included. Grinning ear to ear the shutmon crossed her ears and tilted her head addressing the human. Though she did nod to the rookies that were hammering away...
"Toki Akiyama. Last time we met you jumped through a portal and gave me a right scare! Then here we are in rosewood practically two worlds away! Need a hand?"

The rookies looked at K, then at Toki "Wow, you know her? Cool! We got this, mister, thanks!" they said as they had the beam stable at this point. Toki smiled at them all and waved at them "Anytime, just let me know!" he said, walking over to K. Part him felt ashamed of how he had behaved last time they saw each other. He was selfish and angry at the time. Would she have been that happy to see him if she saw him lose control when he got his Beast Spirit? He shook his head slightly and focused on catching up "K! It's so good to see you again. As you can see, they have it from here. So...wow, it's been a while, hasn't it...?" he scratched the back of his head, feeling a bit awkward.
Eventually he sighed and let his smile drop a little "I'm...sorry about how I acted last time. I was still so lost...confused. A lot of repressed memories just came flooding back and I couldn't do anything but blame myself. I worried you, my dad, and Haru. For that...I apologize. Really."
He smiled once more "But on the bright side I got my Beast Spirit successfully! Though...I kind of lost control the first time I used it. It was thanks to everyone there I was able to regain control again. What happened made me realize that I had to make peace with who I was, not shut it away. Since then, I've been wanting to help others learn more about themselves and how to improve themselves mentally and physically."
Worried that he was just rambling on and on, he laughed and rubbed the back of his head "S-so that's why I'm here in Rosewood. I've been doing my best to help with the building effort, though I've really only done a little bit for the Digimon here. The town's still got a long way to go before it matches the likes of Whitewater or Terminus...but the fact it's a community of Digimon so close to the Village of Beginnings is more than enough to make up for the effort that has to be put into this place. Some have their doubts, yeah, but I believe in every single Digimon here to become stronger from each other's support."
Toki seemed more confident and driven than he had been before. He knew what he wanted to do and looked determined to find out how to do it "Anyway, what about you? How have things been going? I'd love to hear about what's been going on."

The shutmon let out a small chuckle and dipped her head again at the rookies. Some people knew her, some people didn't but a lot of the youth around here probably would of seen her one way or the other.
"Feels almost like half a year at this point doesn't it?"
The shutmon stretched a little bit seeming not terribly out of sorts. She wasn't bothered by the fact that he had left, more so just the fact that she didn't know if he was safe or not. She'd tilt her head a little bit and reach out to gingerly if allowed to pat the top of the humans head.
"It's all right there Toki, I was more worried about your safety. I've been told beast spirits are very dangerous and the digital world as of late hasn't been the safest. So mixing those two together..."
The shutmon scratched her neck and flicked her ears as Toki explained that he had managed to get that beast spirit successfully. Losing control the first time that he had used it. The shutmon considered what Toki said and simply dipped her head in a nod. It made sense that he would of lost control, there was always some kind of catch with spirits wasn't there?
"A good reason to be here that's more than for certain. There's a lot of doubts, from more than just this place. But as the community grows and the people come here that'll change. It could be decades, or a couple hundred digital years before it even comes close to the two of them. But that also depends on how much help they get. I'm glad to see you helping out around here Toki, they need someone like you."
The shutmon blinked a little bit and pointed to herself; as though she seemed a touch surprised about being asked what she had been up to.
"Well lets see here... Since we last met I've had three kids with my husband. Started up a group of Knights in Vander tower, if you look hard enough you can see it flying off in the distance there-"
The shutmon would point in the direction where indeed a flying island was barely just over the trees in the distance. An easy speck to miss if you weren't looking carefully.
"Mostly I've been concerning myself with large scale digital threats like the D-reapers and the Spires. Information on these elemental orbs are scarce so can't act on those... Oh. I guess you could consider me a resident of Rosewood in a fashion? Not that I have an actual home here. That might change depending on my family."
The shutmon chuckled a little bit and rubbed her muzzle; giving the human a wide yet soft grin.
"Been working on getting to the point where we can start making an impact on the safety of not just Rosewood, but Whitewater, Terminus and even luminas if they let us. People need hope again and if we're lucky we'll give it to them..."

He blushed a little when K pat his head, but wasn't against the gesture. He simply brushed his hair back into place "It made me realize that I can't just brute force my way through everything by myself. I need help...I need support. I can't believe it took me this long to realize it, but now that I have I think I can really start making a difference. There's so much that can be solved if we all simply stopped thinking about how things 'have always been.' I've met a few Digimon who felt that since things have been a certain way for a long time, it's always going to be that way. Survival of the fittest and such. That's not true in the slightest..." he said.
He thought about it for a moment and sighed "Though...strength is important. But that comes in so many different forms and can be gained in different ways. Training, self-discipline, and most importantly, the guidance of those you trust and care for. Does it take more time? Maybe...but it is how everyone can achieve a kind of power brute force can't reach." he looked at his digivice "My spirit and I agree on this." he smiled.
"I'm glad that I can be important to them. I do my best around here, though I still wish I could do more. Then again I always wish I could do more." he laughed. "However long it takes will be worth it. I just know it will."
He nodded slightly at K talking about what she's been up to "Huh...? Husband? Children? I didn't know you were married! Or had kids! Wow...I wonder if I met any of them before...if not you'll have to introduce me someday!"
Knights? This was also rather interesting "Knights, hm....? Well I can't imagine a more capable leader than you for a group like that. Even if I'm not part of the group I'd be more than willing to help you with whatever you need." he said. When she gestured towards where Vander Tower would be, all he could do was let out an impressed whistle "Wow...that's really cool...think I'd be able to do something like that? Lead a team, I mean...eh...maybe not." he said, frowning a bit.
"Those Dark Towers make me angry every time I see them. I've helped destroy a couple during my time in the Digital World. Horrible things..." he didn't know much about these elemental orbs or...the D-Reaper. It sounded horrifying "I'm not really sure what the D-Reaper is, but that name already makes it sound bad." he said, shivering slightly.
He tried to lighten the tone "Well this place would be better with you and your family here. But yes...being able to do something for the Digital World as a whole...that's something I'm striving for. If luck isn't on our side in that regard, then we'll make our own. If that doesn't work, just keep pushing forward anyway. Missteps won't pull be down. I'll keep down what I can."

"Violence solves many answers words cannot, but it's not something you can always rely on. It's good you learned this earlier than most. Many believe in that rule, many don't. It's a constant push and pull. I know those that partake in the laws of the jungle do the same. I learned that the hard way."
The shutmon shook her head a little bit and sighed along with the human. It was frustrating that many had to rely on their strength rather than simple words but that was just how the world itself worked wasn't it? But that's what she was here for too.
"Anything worth doing takes time and effort Toki."
The shutmon tilted her head a little bit; it was good to hear that the his spirit and he agreed on something. It was meaning they were starting to reach a good point in their relationship. She'd mull over it and grin at him.
"Then do what you can, but don't push yourself too much Toki. People need breaks and last I checked you were one of them."
Another soft chuckle and she'd perk up quietly. He hadn't known about that and that was practically a good thing. Turning a little bit she'd put her fingers to her mouth and give a soft whistle.
"If not you're about to. Holly dear!"
The shutmon turned her head flicking her ears as she could hear the distinct pop of her daughters short ranged teleportation along with the frustrated grunt of her teleportation managing to bring her into something.
"Mhm. With any luck we'll be able to tackle the big threats before they become a huge problem. I think you have it in you to be a leader of a team toki, have some faith in yourself."
The sound of constant pops eventually led to a meicoomon appearing briefly above the shutmon where she would take one look at toki. Gasp and then immediately pop behind the shutmon peeking out curiously at the human.
"There's someone behind them, they're not just a force to be dealt with. They're a solution to a problem that these people see. Fear and hate of humans was likely what brought it to be which is largely unfortunate. The D-reapers themselves well.. is a complicated bit. But just simply imagine it as one of your virus protection programs going haywire."
The shutmon reached back to take the meicoomon off of her back with a small chuckle. This was a marvelous place to take her children, a marvelous place she could spend time with her husband if he came out this far.
"Trust me Toki, the world is coming to a good bout. It's been so long since we've built something it feels like a dream! Anyways... This is my daughter holly. Say hello to Toki Holly~"
With big eyes and a curious head-tilt that nearly moved the meicoomon out of the shutmon's hands she'd eventually beam at the human with large fangs. She was quite possibly one of the brightest individuals that K had met on her travels and well.. she was glad to have such a youth as a daughter.
"Hi Mr. Toki!"
"It'd be Mr. Akiyama Holly, he's a human."
"Wait.. a human? Like from those movies?"
"Yes like from those movies, but much nicer."
"But those humans said bad words Ma! He doesn't look like someone that'd say bad words!"
"It's why I said much nicer dear."
"Oh yeah!"
There was a marvelous chuckle followed by a surprised blinking as holly popped out of her hands and started inspecting toki. Even climbing onto him if he let her. She'd ask him practically a million questions if he wasn't careful. She was being quite chipper and kept that big smile on her face, sniffing at him here or there...
"Ma told me a lot about humans! that you come from a whole different world! What's it like? Can you eat the food here? What's the food like there? Do you have a lot of family? Sisters? Brothers? She said there was a big city on the other side of the portal, is that where you're from? Why do you smell like Digimon and not something else?"
"Oh dear..."

As usual, K's words brought some comfort to him. She always seemed to know what to say."I understand that strength is important, but what good is strength without integrity? It's wasted if you ask me. I want to teach the world that there is value in kindness. In hope...I want people to live without having to look over their shoulders at everyone they meet."
He nodded in agreement over the fact that anything worth doing will take time "I understand and I'm okay with that. It takes real strength to push forward regardless of how long it will take." he said. He blushed a little when she said he could be the leader of his own team "I'll admit...I want to try. There are those who just want to do good things and...I want to know them. To meet them."
Toki clenched his fists "If we can find the ones responsible...and fight back, I will not hesitate to do so. They've hurt so many in a way that can't be justified. But..." he smiled slightly and relax "You're right. I shouldn't push myself too much. I...love this world. I love Digimon. And because of them I've learned to love other humans too. We're all unique and special."
When Holly arrived, Toki almost squealed happily. He hadn't seen a Meicoomon is so long and Holly was absolutely precious already. "Aw, hello!" he clasped his hands together and knelt down to let Holly climb on him "Okay, let's see if I can answer these questions for you, Holly...well my world, Earth, is very different. More cities for one, and much bigger. It's very crowded, but that's because I live in a place called Tokyo where lots of people live, and even then, Tokyo is just a small part of a place called Japan...which itself is a pretty small nation on Earth...and yes, I can eat the food here! I'm still getting used to the kinds of food you eat, but I've been having fun trying it all. And home...? Well we have lots of amazing food. Lots of seafood where I'm from. Rice and bread too. My family's just me, my mom, and my dad. I'm an only child. Yes that city is where I'm from as I've said, and...for you last question? Here, I'll show you. Hop off for a second."
"I guess you could say I'm part Digimon. I'm a spirit user...er...wielder? Warrior? I've heard a lot of people say different things to describe what I am. Essentially, my partner is a spirit of a Digimon that lets me use his power to transform into a Digimon. Like this." he pulls out his digivice and extends his hand outwards. A single digital trail appears around his hand and he brought it to the scanner "Spirit...Evolution!" he shouted as the trail wrapped around him and obscured his features. When the blinding light around his body faded, a tall, rabbit-like Digimon appeared in his place "Antylamon!"
Toki sat down and crossed his legs "See? Now I'm a Digimon like you." he said. He seemed smaller than a normal Antylamon, but still had the lanky proportions of one. "I have to admit, this was a bit scary for me at first but now I've come to accept it as a part of who I am."

"Integrity takes time and not everyone is suited for it. But that's something that develops on it's own. There is of course value in kindness, I'm not arguing that. I think it's a great thing to want, to try to give. Just be safe about it all right?"
The shutmon shifted a little bit and flicked her ears forward a touch. He was okay with the time and effort that it would take? Well that was something that was rather delightful to hear. It made her grin and at that blush she couldn't help but chuckle; giving a firm shake of the head.
"You can do it if you put your mind to it toki. Find like minded people and you'll be able to show more than just your values."
The shutmon's tone grew rather somber in response to the towers. She'd rub her neck quietly and let out a firm sigh. She didn't know where these digimon were ultimately; only the forms that they held and it wouldn't be fair to others of their kinds if she simply gave out that information.
"That'll take time, but it'll be worth it too. If I find anything out I'll be sure to let you know. I've got connections and trust me the spires are one of the things I want to take care of. I'm glad that they've been able to do so much for you though, digimon I mean."
Holly of course was practically ecstatic about being able to climb, sniff and just touch a human. She was even more excited about all the answers he gave her; but that was like a double sided sword. Give her answers and more questions would just flood out.
"There's more cities? How many? How much bigger? What's crowded to you? So Tokyo is like terminus then? Or is it more like luminas? Nations? What are those? What would make a nation big? What sort of food here is your favorite so far? What about in the human world? So you like fish? I don't know what rice is, but I do know what bread is. Though I'm more a fan of banana bread. If you're an only child does that mean you get lonely?"
The meicoomon blinked a little bit and hopped off of toki tilting her head quietly as he explained further. However as he did so her eyes slowly grew wider and wider until they were like saucers. She was bouncing in place as the human just digivolved into a big rabbit! She hadn't seen one of these before and would peer around him sniffing and checking up out curiously. She didn't know what sort of mon this was or what their usual sizes were.
"You definitely smell like one of us! You said this was an antylamon? How did you find this? I've heard of spirit users, wielders and warriors before. They're referenced in a few of the books I've read, mostly about how the core functions... uh. Well how they have similar core functions to digimon but don't actually have cores in the same sense we do. It's weird. But if you're like a digimon does that mean you can do digimon like things? Digivolve? Interact with digital stuff a little better? Well. saying if you had trouble interacting with digital stuff as a human."
Holly of course would climb back onto the Antylamon checking out his appendages and even sitting on his shoulder. She'd tilt her head a little bit and frown after a few moments.
"You've been a lot of places too Mr. Akiyama? Here int he digital world I mean. You smell like a lot of places I haven't been to."
K on the other hand looked fairly exasperated as Holly bombarded toki with questions. The youth had given her the same treatment almost non stop until something had grabbed her attention. With that whistle she was drawn here and of course would continue rolling in the questions.
"What was scary about this at first? being different? Taller? The shift from human to digimon? I mean I can see why it's a bit jarring because of body type, but I honestly don't know how it works. Ma do you?"
"Somewhat Holly, I don't understand the intricate nature of everything you know."
"I know Ma, but it seemed like something you would know. You told me about AEGIS just a little bit so I thought maybe..."
"Ah yes, I don't think they had a spirit user when I was working with them though..."

He felt encouraged, like he really could do something special if he put his mind to it. Though right now his mind was on this little Meicoomon clambering all over him and bombarding him with question after question "I'd have to bring you a map of Earth to really get the point across on just how...big everything is. I don't really know how to compare everything between the human and digital worlds, I'm sorry." he chuckled nervously. "Well a nation is just...a people united under a common goal, usually led by someone really important. Not all nations are good though, but let's...please not get into that."
He smiled a bit when the questions got simpler and more innocent "Favorite food? Oh that's tough, I like all sorts of food...though if you ask me, nothing beats a nice simple meal of salmon rice balls with a hot cup of green tea. As for food here? I don't know, it's all so different I really can't place my finger on any that stand out...what about you?" he asked as he lifted his arms so she could look over his body more. "Rice is...well they're grains, like bread, but stickier. You can pack them together and put other ingredients inside them for some really good snacks."
The question if he felt lonely being an only child...he paused for a moment before he nodded "A...little bit. Though a lot of my loneliness growing up was my own fault. I wasn't the nicest person and...I regret that. Though if I didn't have those struggles, I may have never found the Digital World. And now I can't imagine my life without knowing about this wonderful place. I'm not lonely anymore. I have my spirit, lots of friends. I have you and K too! How could I be lonely?"
"Being a Digimon compared to being human...how to explain. Well yeah, I can Digivolve and change forms. I currently have this, a Rookie stage called Turuiemon, an fraction, which is like an Armor Digivolution called Gargomon...and a Beast Spirit called Lagosmon. Beast Spirits are similar to Ultimates. As for interacting with digital stuff a little better? I'm...not really sure what you mean there, I'm sorry. If it's a physical object I can interact with it as I would normally."
He smiled fondly, thinking about the places he's been to "Oh I've been to lots of places in the Digital World. Deserts, mountains, oceans, islands...it's so fun to just...see what's out there."
Toki thought about her question about what was scary "Well...early on I worried if I could really consider myself human anymore with a power like that. Then it changed to...what if I'm just a faker? Someone just pretending to be a digimon? The bodies I don't have an issue with. These are amazing. I just...worried for a long time about my place in either world. Eventually I decided that I was both human and Digimon. And coming to that realization made me happy."

"It's really that big? Well there's probably information about the human world on the tamernet. Or in terminus. I might just go there if it's that complicated! It's okay Mr. Akiyama! That makes a lot of sense though, So nations are like the cities of the digital world but just... bigger?"
The meicoomon tilted her head a little bit and furrowed her brow slightly as he explained out what his favorite food was. Simple meal of salmon rice balls and a hot cup of green tea? Things she hadn't partaken in before and she paused as he asked her a question as she was investigating his lanky body.
"Uhhhh... Fish. Chicken. Meat. I like meat a lot. Potatoes. Bread is okay but it.. gets stuck in my teeth and takes forever for me to get it out."
The meicoomon's ears wiggled a little bit as he answered her question about rice; explaining them out like bread. She'd dip her head in a nod as he continued to explain and she beamed brightly as he mentioned the digital world, how he had his spirits, lots of friends... and well her and K which made her bounce a little bit on her feet.
"That makes a lot of sense! I uh. Don't really know what's what as of yet, but I'm learning! All of those sound really cool though! Uh... I thought humans had a tough time interacting with stuff in the digital world cause they were like fleshy or something. But I guess not. That makes sense, maybe some kind of cross over bit when you guys come from your world to ours! What's your favorite place so far? I've only been here and to the library; but that's okay!"
She'd tilt her head further and then dip her head in a nod a few time as he explained out what was scary. It made sense to her why he would think that and worry about it. She'd put a hand to his chest and huff a little bit.
"Not fake! Real! Can touch, feels like it's supposed to. So makes sense! You're still human under all this right? Coming back and staying like it. Even if you're both of us that gives you something super special! Not every digimon gets that, though I don't know if I'd be okay with it if I was human. But if I was human I would uh... still be crying in a crib I think. Right ma?"
"You'd definitely still be in the crib yes Dear, human's don't really move around a lot in their first year or so I've been told."
The shutmon chuckled a little bit and placed a hand on her daughters head nodding over to back where the meicoomon had come from.
"Now go back to exploring dear, I'll call for you later when it's time to go back to vander tower okay?"
"Okay! I'll see you around Mr. Akiyama! It was nice meeting you!"
The meicoomon of course would give the spirit user a big ol' hug before bounding off to go explore again. The shutmon watched her go and let out a soft somewhat happy sigh.
"Three kids and one of them is the bubbliest most bouncy sort that you'd ever meet. She's really smart, a lot smarter than I am. Barely a day goes by that she doesn't learn something new. She taught herself how to read and has been tearing through the library at an alarming rate. Did you know she can already evolve to champion toki? She's two weeks old."
The shutmon shook her head a little bit and sighed again rubbing her muzzle slowly.
"She's a very bright candle Toki; but I worry for her endlessly you know?"

Toki rested his chin against one large hand and smiled at Holly's continued speech He smiled "Something like that, but nations are so big they can have more than one city. A lot more." he explained. He listened happily as she listed off the foods that she enjoyed "There's nothing wrong with the foods you like, Holly. Do you like fruits at all? Those are really nice on the go snack." he said.
He was glad his explanations made sense to her "Well it seems your research is definitely paying off...yeah, I've noticed that during my interactions in the Digital World I've felt more...attuned to it. I guess humans here change slightly in a way just so they can properly interact with certain things." he said. It was more conjecture than anything else.
He was caught off guard by how direct she was about how 'real' he was a Digimon. It felt like it was supposed to...and he had what was important to being human and being a Digimon and it was special "You..." he smiled warmly "You're right. Thank you, Holly. And yes, you'd still be a baby. Digimon mature much faster than we do. Like...I'm twenty years old and I've barely figured out my life." he said with a laugh.
He waved goodbye to her as she bounded off somewhere before he looked over at K "She's a sweet one, that's for sure...I'm glad. The world needs more like her..." he said, happy to see such a development. He was a little shocked at what K said about her level "Champion? At two weeks? That's...that's amazing." he said.
Though he understood K's worries "It's a parent's job to worry for their kids even if it seems like everything's fine for them right now. I can't blame you at all for it. She's gifted, happy, intelligent...she's got a bright future if she uses all of that. She has you as a mother, I'm positive she'll grow to be strong and responsible with what has been given to her." he said. He believed in K with every fiber of his being, so he believed in Holly as well.
"I've been through a lot here...met a lot of people...but I'm still holding on to who I am and the lessons I'm learning here. The Digital World is a beautiful place but it's far from perfect, much like the human world. I...I'm going to do my part to make it just a little bit brighter. I owe this place, and my spirit, that much at least. I'm one person, but...it just takes one person standing up to make a difference."

"Gosh that is really big... Maybe I'll get to see them one day! Uhhh.... I haven't had many. Apples are nice though."
The meicoomon furrowed her brow a little bit, she really enjoyed meats a lot more than the fruit that she had partaken in. After all she was a sort of carnivore if you thought about it enough. She'd flick her ears a little bit and stare up at him as he spoke of and about the whole attunement thing. It made sense to her that it worked like that; and if even if didn't well... that was fine too. She couldn't be right about everything.
"That'd be a little odd for a baby to run around and do this much! Ooo... that's... older than some I've met!"
Though holly herself didn't have much more to add, with her bounding off to go explore again that left the two alone for the most part. Considering there was plenty of work going on around them as rosewood was after all ever expanding.
"Sweeter than any candy I've had, I hope that curiosity sticks I really do. It's nice seeing her so happy. Yeah... At this rate I think she might have ultimate down before too long. She's still getting used to the forms she has but if something happens it happens; I just hope I can be there for her when she needs me."
The shutmon beamed a little bit as toki praised both her and her daughter. Chuckling a little bit she'd give him sharp smile and stare after her daughter quietly.
"You certainly have a way with words Toki. I'm excited to see what she does and who she becomes. But I'm not going to ignore the now you know?"
The shutmon scratched her muzzle and raised her brows as he continued. He wanted to make the world a brighter place? He thought he owed them that? She'd chuckle lightly and reach out to gently pat his head.
"And make it brighter you certainly will, with an attitude like that there's nothing you can't do if you put your mind to it."

"She's young, but she's smart. And despite that intelligence and curiosity she uses it to learn more about others. She doesn't look down on others or judge them. I think she'll be fine." he said and hoped that would help ease some of K's worries at least a little bit. "I believe in the both of you, K. You'll be there for her, and she'll be there for you. You're family and...that's a really precious thing. I know that now."
Toki looked around Rosewood "It's become a lot more lively around here with the new arrivals. This town was a good idea. I'll do my best to help Rosewood and the rest of the Digital World grow. Though I think I'll be departing for a couple of days shortly. My digivice seems to have located another spirit totem and Aylin has already contacted me. Once she gets here we'll go on our next adventure. From what she's told me, there was an surge of energy at the top of one of Terabyte Mountain's peaks. I'm nervous...but I won't give up yet."
He smiled and took out his digivice "My spirit has been such an inspiration. Can't let him down now." he said. The data from the digivice seemed to almost resonate in the air for a moment. Toki didn't know what it was going on, but it didn't seem harmful, whatever was going on. "It's funny...you've always been a good friend to me here. You helped me when I was at my lowest and helped me become stronger. I couldn't have asked for a better friend, K."
He put his digivice away and smiled at her "Here's to a long friendship, alright? If you need anything, I'll do everything I can to help. The same goes for Holly. I want to be there for you, your friends, and your family. I will get my own group formed. A group of those who want to help others. That's my goal here." he seemed more confident. Positive that he can make this work.
His spirit manifested for a moment as Antylamon "He's made tremendous progress as a person. I couldn't be prouder. K...what the digivice did. I believe it was trying to tell us that our data is compatible for digivolving together."
Toki seemed a bit confused "Digivolving together? I'm not really aware of what that means."
"It means that in your Beast Spirit form, you and K's Ultimate can fuse together. The resulting Digimon would be equivalent to a Mega in power. This power is special, Toki. From what I understands it means that you trust K immensely as a friend and ally."
"Well that's certainly true. I just...never knew that was something that Digimon could do. What are your thoughts on it, K?"

"I don't think she has it in them to..."
The shutmon turned her head to stare at toki and gave a big smile at what toki said. It made her earnestly happy to hear this from someone she considered a close friend. After all; they had been through quite a bit together in some sense. She'd follow his eyes and look about the locale they were standing in.
It made her heart ache hearing Toki say that he would be here to help rosewood; she needed people like this to protect places. More so those that weren't a part of her group or even had true reason to. But Toki was willing to push past that and was even going to find a new spirit? Her eyebrows shot up and she'd find that smile grow slowly.
"I'm glad everything is working out and that you have all these goals. Seeing you like this reminds me of the first time we met a bit. Where I was building and here you are. Building away while I wander."
The shutmon snickered quietly and offered her hand to toki for a firm shake. She was happy to hear that he was willing to have a long friendship; as well as being glad that she was around even at the start.
"Is it funny? I would figure it'd just make sense yeah? I'm glad she could have the opportunity to meet you this time, and I'll make sure that she'll visit when your group forms. We need more people like tha...t..."
The shutmon blinked however when the Antylamon spoke. Telling them of what occured. Her eyes widened a little bit and her ears perked up. She felt her jaw go slack and she'd lean forward staring at the Antylamon for a moment. There was a tug somewhere in her core and she felt her tail shift as though it was wagging for a brief instant though that desire was quickly crushed by her interest in what the spirit was talking about.
"I've heard of DNA digivolution being possible between humans and their mons. Spirit users of a certain kin.. and twin digimon. But two separate entities? That must... Two cores coming together to form a single body? That is something I haven't heard of before. But if what your spirit says is true... Perhaps we should try something like that. Maybe once I send holly home? I don't want to worry her or scare her."
The shutmon stared at toki for a few long moments her forearm blades jittering in uncertainty.
"I've read of things like this before from brief bits in my husbands team base but... never thought I'd be part of one. I can practically feel my data's excitement!"

"It's definitely a new feeling for me...being so driven to do something that is for others and not just my own empowerment. It's lead to me confronting a lot of things that I probably wouldn't have wanted to in the past, but now I've grown from that. I feel like I'm a better person for all of it." he said. He smiled at K and shook her hand "I grew up a lot. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything, K."
He thought about Holly spending time with his group once it's formed "Holly's more than welcome to visit with us whenever she pleases. I just hope I can get things set up in a timely manner...I'll have to arrange meeting places, communications...this is gonna take some work." he sighed.
As Antylamon and K explained what was going on with the Digivice, Toki felt a deep sense of honor that he and K were close enough as friends to make something like this possible "You think we should? I'm curious myself, but..." he had reservations due to his incidents in the past regarding his Beast Spirit, but he had to push past that "...you know what? I think we should try this DNA digivolution. We'll never know what we're capable of until we try it after all. But...yeah, let's wait for another time so we don't worry anybody." he said with a nod.
He laughed a little at K's excitement. He had never seen her so excited about something "I'll admit to being excited about this too. I don't even think I've heard of DNA Digivolution before today..." he said, a little embarrassed about his lack of knowledge on that. How would it even work? What would dictate who was in control of what?
He decided he wouldn't worry about it too much and just figure things out as they went along "So it seems you've been keeping yourself busy too. The Digital World's in good hands with people like us around, hm?" he said with a bright smile. "Aside from organizing your team, how have you been? Aside from raising a family? Have you been to nice places and just enjoyed the peace?"
