Initiation of a Bold Venture [Kazuya]

Kazuya enjoyed his stimulating conversation with Cion, it was simple now. But what amused Kazuya the most is the possibility of future historians studying this day and declaring it an important day for future events, while Kazuya humored that line of thought, no good will come from it, so he kept his focus on the now instead of the distant future. The topic seemed to have been heading to a point where every party seemed to have reached a mutual point, Kazuya hoped that future topics and discussion this expanded team would soon have in the future be similar to this one. A place where the chosen talented advisors work tirelessly to insure the great city continues to shine as the beacon of hope it will be in the future, he was hopeful that the future of the nation will be as bright as the soul of his knightly partner.
He then turned to Cion with a confident look and nod, she was right and he was determined to be one of the advisors. "But of ourse every fierce leader needs their own knights of the round table, don't you agree, Roy, Cion ?" He said in a quite but playful tone. And he got what he wanted, at least from Roy who gave him a happy and determined nod, it made Kazuya chuckle. But he soon turned back to Cion, "But that aside, we would need to do hard work and we need to trust each other for this to work. It will be a long quest but I am willing to make this nation that will accept everyone and improve the world with you. " Kazuya said in a fierce determined way, this would prove to be a massive undertaking, and Kazuya was ready to use his expertise to help further improve the world.
Royland nodded firmly at Cion, he was overjoyed that she accepted the role of leader. He couldn't handle being the leader, not after everything he went through, the pressure that crushed his sanity and every death of a comrade that stole part of his soul. He could not relive it, but it's because of that suffering he endured, that he will make sure that Cion will never go through what he did and will ensure that she will be a great leader as he will make sure to lighten the load on her, and become her loyal confidant. "I am happy to hear that, I am sure you will set a shining example as a leader and will help others realize their own potential. And while the spotlight will be on you, I will be there and support you as a knight, an advisor and as a friend." Roy's sincere words, confident tone and bold look, were the definition of purity and honesty, there were no hint of hesitation as the knight firmly believed in all of his words.
Moments later the food will arrive, Royland would look at his meal with delight as he could feel that his intense hunger would be satisfied. Once everyone's item was placed in front of them, Roy turned to Cion and smiled "thanks for the meal" he said before he began to silently eat his food, the delectable meat was enough to make Roy excited with pleasure as the rest of the meal proved to be insanely delicious. "This is wonderful, nice pick Cion."
Kazuya took his tea and began to drink it, taking casual sips while he stared at the night sky. The sea of his conciousness gave birth to a myriad of thoughts, all swimming briefly coming into focus and then leave, no one idea occupied his mind for long. He just enjoyed his tea and the beautiful scenery for now.

Knights of the round table? Okay... with that bit of mankind's lore she was familiar with, the reference to a silly yet worthwhile fairy tale causing her to chuckle with glee. "Queen Cion of Camelot - tihi. And what shall we call our base? The Prydwen?" She asked rhetorically, enjoying the quip regardless of the sincerity behind it. Despite the fervor and earnestness with regards to their ambitions, a good laugh seldom hurt, especially when it was among friends. In the end, a dream was meant to be happy and be pursued with joy, not grave sternness. Its result was, after all, supposed to be uncountable smiles.
Calming down from their cordial banter, the silver fennec nodded firmly. Of course she was aware of the strenuous, perpetual work that awaited them. Assembling a workforce, creating contracts with entrepreneurs, nursing relationships with other nations, crafting a functioning government, attracting visitors and future citizens, assuring a growing economy and thousands of aspects more that had to be kept in mind. Ultimately, it was a business she and her allies had to foster until it stood strong and tall on its own. But if nothing else, she knew how to run an enterprise properly - thanks to PROFIT.
So many tiny steps and people that had led her to this path of independence and magnificence. Hopefully, no matter the length of it, she'd reach its destination. Still, the thought of her being in the spotlight, supported by companions and advisors, was bizarre to her. Yet Cion refused to let her uncertainty hold her back. If those she trusted by her side were willing to grant her trust tentatively, then she was obliged to give everything in her power to meet their expectations - no, surpass them. Nothing less than optimization sufficed for their cause.
However, this evening was no day of unyielding zeal. Instead, the restrained Arniomon was simply glad to know that Sir Royland savored his meal as much as she did hers. Even Kazuya seemed to relish his simple tea. A calm, early night together with lovely acquaintances at a fine restaurant... what else could she ask for?

Kazuya chuckled at Cion's spontaneous response, it was refreshing and funny. While Kazuya enjoyed Cion's Joke, Roy came in and said "Wait does that make me Sir Gawain or Galahad ?" He said before turning into a giggling fool, as he chuckled at the jokes being made. course Royland would be very knowledgable when it came to Arthurian mythos, and in fact just myths in general as he spent days on the computer researching myth and religions often getting heavily invested in them. But Arthur and his rag tag group of knights were among his favourites, as he followed the exploits of sir Arthur and the roundtable knights with glee and happiness that were hard to match and even got sad at its sour conclusion.
Kazuya however just enjoyed the simple laughter that ensued after Roy's addition to the joke, the chuckle may have been brief but it was enjoyable and both Roy and Kazuya were feeling the joy of this wonderful day.
Kazuya then took a sip from his tea as his eyes looked up to the heavens, as he viewed its shining torches the star far beyond his small reach. He mused on what the stars would think about the conflict of his world they belittle their trivial conflicts, do they weep for the tragedies that occur daily ? Would they cheer this merry band he joined or do they laugh at their efforts to make the world a better place ? These are the thoughts that crossed Kazuya's mind, as he enjoyed his tea and the view of the beach.
Royland however could not help but have memories of his past group's death as his mind recreated the horror of the countless death that weight on his heart, as he felt the souls of those he killed and those he led to their death haunting him for a while, he shook off those ideas and enjoyed his meal. After treating his taste buds to a rich and full food, Roy could feel the comfort slowly come back to him.
He then turned to Cion with a curious look. "By the way, may I ask ? What made you decide to do this ? And go through all that for this utopia ?" He was simply curious, and the question got Kazuya curiosity as well.

"How about one of the unnamed gong farmers?" Cion asked before bursting out in a fit of pleasant laughter. Though hoping that this joke at Kazuya's expense had not insulted the lad, it had been too precious of an opportunity not to be taken. Joining the adult man in being a giggling fool, the silver fennec held her tummy tightly that ached slightly from simultaneously laughing and processing parts of her delicious meal. Oh dear, had she just ruined their relationship with her biting quip? Probably not, hence she finished her chuckles at a leisurely pace.
Tranquility returned to the group for several minutes as they calmly savored their palatable meals and refreshing beverages. It seemed as every thought and emotion had been worked by her mind, leaving the vulpine sentinel as a confident and passionate leader of ASCENSION who harbored no doubts. No matter the time and efforts required, together with allies such as the lovely duo spending their evening with her, she would forge something unrivaled with her bare paws. Shangri-La humans called it for Earth - and although a fitting name was still missing the sentiment was the same. An earthly paradise.
Not oblivious to Sir Royland's gaze of curiosity, her ears peaked somewhat as she carefully listened to his understandable question. Questioning her impetus was reasonable and it was a deed the restrained Arniomon had done herself many times as well. However, today her answer was no longer filled with hesitation, uncertainty and skepticism. The fire of passion within her core was flaring like an everlasting, iridescent torch. Nothing but her total downfall was capable of preventing her from pursuing her ambitions and dreams. Despite her unyielding composure, her stance and words were as firm as her devotion.
"Through eons and uncountable calamities, I've served as a faithful protector of the weak and innocent. I did so in the belief that it made a difference - and I gladly followed those who heralded this cause." Cion quickly summarized the tale of her existence, nodding faintly until she sighed quietly. "It did not. A short time ago, I realized nothing I had ever accomplished significantly changed the world for the better. Neither apparently did and currently does the contribution of others and their causes. Sure, civilization exists, but is it much better than natural savagery? Hardship, lust for power, zealotry, selfishness... except in wonderful Rosewood, such inherent aspects perpetually impede the potential we all have."
Leaning back into her comfortable chair, her aureate eyes shifted between her friends and the seemingly infinite, radiant ocean. It was as if she was talking to herself in a dreamy, dolorous state. "Everything I've ever touched... ceased to be. My work, my sacrifices, my love - what I believed constant slipped like sand through my fingers. How must uncountable other souls perceive their plights - I eventually asked myself that. Every in vain deed leading to another. ... I suppose the termination of PROFIT was merely the last straw that made me reach this conclusion. That..."
Taking in a deep breath, her previous smiles became grave frowns fueled by fervor, anguish and fixity of purpose. Perhaps intentionally so, she was glaring at the digital realm in its current state, her eyes still lingering on the amber horizon. "... and that if I won't do it, nobody will. Given my situation, I am not afraid to put everything on the line for the Utopia digimons and humans alike deserve. What do I have to lose that would not end anyway If I don't change the status quo? ... I wish for something to finally last, so I have to craft it myself; with your support of course."

Both Kazuya and Royland busted into spontaneous and contagious laughter when Cion made her addition to the already funny joke. The three of them would enjoy this moment of pure fun, as the sound of laughter was definitely the main sound coming from their table. Neither Roy nor Kazuya took any offense to the joke, as they saw it as just that. A simple funny joke said by their new friend and teammate, so the two enjoyed the sound of laughter that emanated.
Soon the laughter would fade away, as the trio enjoyed their chosen items from the menu. As Royland enjoyed the food picked by Cion, his mind thought only of the future and of his own goal to stop the reincarnated group of friends he once had from ruining everything and causing massive world wide panic. The thoughts of crossing place with those he once called friends, and especially the thought of fighting the one digimon he once genuinely loved weighed on his heart. But after calming himself down, Roy would listen to Cion's answer with anticipation.
He would lower his head as Cion continued to answer his question, the lion knight was feeling emotions of empathy and sympathy towards the grey digimon. He knew how it felt to have worked your whole life aiming to save the world, only to be presented with a bottomless pit of suffering and conflict. That lingering thought that all off his life works was well...for naught. But what constantly prevented Roy from falling victim to his own horrid thoughts is the images of all those he helped along the way.
The black haired man however was unable to relate, but he could feel sorry for Cion. But it looks like the future queen of Camelot was not someone to feel pity for, as she turned all of those negative emotions into a strong seed that she planted. A seed that one day will grow to a mighty tree providing to the world, she converted her pain to create a Shangri-La. It was something to be impressed by, her determination was bold as the flame of her will shined brightly and the man wished to help it shine even further.
Roy scratched the side of his head before mustering up the strength to talk about his past in detail to Cion. "Hey listen Cion, I understand how you feel. Some odd hundreds of years ago, I was a member of a group of mercenaries lead by Dukemon. That group aimed to do great and it did, we stopped many villains and saved countless of lives. Fought so many wars, I think all of my instincts are related to warfare and deadly battles. But then dukemon died, I became the leader and after a quite the list of victories including me beating an examon, in a one on one battle. I fought a strong army of the dark area, and we stopped their plot to plunge the world in constant warfare. But we ended up being infected with a virus that ended up killing us, I was happy, I died knowing that I saved the world from darkness. But then when I was reborn I heard about spires and dark towers and I couldn't bear the feeling of anger. " he clenched his fist, his gaze was not directed at anyone but rage can be seen clearly for everyone who looked at them. The lion then took a deep breath and said.
"Well what I wanted to say is that I understand how you feel, this is why I wanted to join your cause. Constant warfare won't bring peace, but this nation could. This is why I offer my support in this journey, I will help you create this heaven on earth. But sadly I will have to fight, and fight for this dream I will. " Roy's aura changed from pure indignation, to gallantry, as the hue from his eyes was more positive today.

A strange yet pleasant sense of inner quietude overcame Cion as she shared her fundamental thoughts, emotions and perpetual sorrow with people she had merely known for an hour. But with everything she had learned of Kazuya and Sir Royland, it was as if she was reunited with kindred spirits. In their own ways, they comprehended the impetus and reasons that pushed her to such unrivaled goals like crafting an Utopia that was eternal and preferably all-encompassing.
They listened, cared and supported her with deeds beyond mere words. Unlike most stuck with their useful if Victorian causes, they understood the bigger picture and were willing to support a longed for ascension to a new age of peace, harmony and prosperity. It was not simply a transition, but a transcendence. A world without senseless violence, affliction and discord; where not only a few but all strove for something higher than themselves and their needs. In turn, with this kind of passion and commitment, ultimately nobody would suffer deprivation nor desideratum.
It was a wonderful, unrealistic pipe dream, but for someone who had barely anything left to lose, it was a nonpareil ambition worth pursuing. She had the money, the contacts... and some outstanding individuals that were able to truly realize her sentiments. The white lion, not to dismiss his partner, was nothing short of prodigious in that and a couple of other forms. The Spadamon knew exactly whence she came - the frustration and anger caused by futility; and the unceasing affinity for life and its potential locked in a prison of egomania. These notions were not foreign to him.
"There is nothing wrong with fighting for benevolent ideals, Roy. Especially because this time, unlike that of most noble warriors, our battle will yield unparalleled fruits - no matter how long the tree's seed takes to blossom." Cion expressed her opinion and fervor with similar gallantry. Their seemingly endless path was set. There was no doubts about their aspiration. The scion of an unseen era, their idea, was in their paws. All they needed to do was to create an ideal soil for them to plant it in, foster it and behold it grow and spread.

While Kazuya and especially Royland met a lot of people they would consider friends, few of them made a bond as strong and quick as Cion did, the bond the three made was unique. As both the man and the digimon felt like they are really going to do something special together, something that might transcend their time, a nation that will mark it self as one of history's greatest. But the two of them were not idiots as both of them knew the level of commitment required for this great endeavour, the trials they will have to deal with are going to be overwhelmingly difficult. The number of external conflict from barbarians who oppose peace or organizations that will benefit from their demise alone are going to be a hassle to deal with, let alone the possibilities of internal conflict that may plague the nation. But if there is one thing that is guaranteed, its that both of them are more than ready to face that challenge head on.
Kazuya continued to enjoy his lovely tea as the night went on, the tea was almost over but he did not think about it, he was too busy dreaming about the stars and their distant beauty, their radiant brightness was enough to make him dream of what his life could have been if he did not meet Roy a life of solitude that now seem like a distant bad dream to be forgotten as his future seemed to be tied with Roy and this new team, a future he is willing to defend. But moments later he would find that he actually finished his tea, he looked disappointed for a second but he did not opt to order another one as he placed his cup on the table and leaned back on his chair with a satisfied smile on his face, he looked to the stars once more, as their eternal beauty and radiant brilliance bewitched the golden eyed man as he was lost in the sea of stars.
Royland however was starring at Cion in the eyes, as he heard her repeat the words of Dukemon, the exalted and beloved leader he once swore his life to. The uncanny similarity between the two moved Roy's heart, as he felt the very core of his existence being overwhelmed by a sense of nostalgia, and after struggling with himself he managed to not tear up, not today. "I agree, and in our conviction we shall find true greatness. Now lets enjoy each others companionship and this amazing meal."
"We would love to meet the rest of the team, and see what kind of people they can be. I am sure if they share your ideals they will be great and interesting people."

Eventually, it seemed that the energy her mind and her spirit claimed to express fervor subsided into her subconsciousness. There were only so many times were a person could voice his passion before it got a bit silly. Still, as she looked into the golden eyes of the white lion, Cion felt not a single drop of her devotion spilling out of her core. Sir Royland was exactly the kind of anchor she needed to facilitate and perpetuate her dedication. Keen, fair and the right amount of cosmopolitan. If a majority of people were like him, ASCENSION would have not been necessary.
Alas, at the beginning of their venture, that was not this realm's status quo. However, similar to individuals being able to change, so was this quite volatile, digital world. Their efforts required plenty of time and self-abandonment, but there did not appear anything significant for them to lose. Their lives had led them to a point where they finally realized that their previous endeavors had mostly been in vain. No more, even if it took another eon. One day, no matter the details, their Utopia would stand strong and tall as a radiant beacon for all souls desiring peace, harmony and prosperity.
Continuing to smile at the thought, the silver fennec's aureate eyes shifted to the well-mannered, young man. "Don't worry, you will. And I am sure they are." She calmly yet confidently assured Kazuya that her choices of confreres were taken with great care and attentive evaluation. A healthy mix of unity yet varying perspectives was her goal; next to obvious aspects such as goodwill, prowess and potential of course. With the duo in front of her, she was certain that most attributes were already covered in spades.

Royland was feeling good as he almost finished his plate, this day will be a day he will always remember, if not for companionship he has with Cion alone, but he also is grateful to the opportunity she presented to him. The goal he can devote himself to see come to fruition, a great utopia where he can see the age of peace usher and witness prosperity spreading towards the world. He knew it won't be a simple task, but he is ready to fight for it, and struggle for it. A good cause and a good leader, there was nothing more the chivalrous soul of a star chasing Knight could ask for, now he will stay true to his duty and be eternally loyal.
While Kazuya did not view this goal with a romantic filter like his partner, but he still appreciated the beauty of this mission, a goal to create heaven on earth. It sounded ridiculous but after meeting Cion in person, he started to believe in that dream, Kazuya smiled and looked at the table. To think he would stop isolating himself and actively seek meaningful companionship, Royland has changed. And the experiences he went through in the last few months were somethings he could have not expected, but he felt like it was all leading up to this. The meeting with Cion, he pondered what ripple effects will this cause to his life ? He continued to ponder these question that had no answers.
Kazuya then looked up to Cion and gave the fennec digimon a smile and a nod, he then looked at his watch that he adjusted for digital world time and turned to Cion again. "I will look forward to meeting them, but I think its time for us to leave. I sadly have somethings to attend, but I will love to rendezvous with you another time. As matter of fact care to trade contact information ? " Kazuya suggested as he wanted an easy way to get in touch with Cion.
Royland then finished his plate, he took the cloth that was laid to him and elegantly cleaned his mouth from anything that might have found its way there. "Thank you for the meal." He said as he got off his chair.

For this lovely evening, despite being saddened due to Kazuya's need to departure for today, there was nothing left to be said. Cion had not only savored a pleasant dinner in the company of a fantastic duo, but she also found in them loyal, assiduous companions that would aid their cause by making ASCENSION more than a pipe dream, but reality.
Gladly she nodded to Sir Royland, content thanks to the fact that he had enjoyed his stew. Naturally, they exchanged contact information as to always be on each other's mind. They were bound to spend lots of time together as members of the same team, but the opportunity to relish leisure with them as well she did not reject.
Eventually, as kind remarks and sincere, polite farewells were voiced, the silver fennec found herself alone but not forlorn as night slowly began to dominate Whitewater. Deciding to return to her hotel room, she knew there was plenty of work that still had to be done. Checking messages, contacting potential associates and of course adding her new friends to the official member list. Though straining and interminable, those were her duties and purposes she pursued with a rapt grin.
