Digimon Name - Partner #1: Vulin
Default Form: Vorvomon
Gender: Male, He/Him
Alignment: Neutral Good
Skills/Talents: Out of the two, Vulin is a bit more tougher, and raring to go in fights - as a result, he tends to take on a more protective role in looking out for Fennel, and is usually the one doing the heavy lifting out of the two. Due to his slightly larger wings and tail, he is a bit klutzy - knocking things over occasionally - but otherwise is decent at flying, compared to other Vorvomon, and at balancing. With his fire and heat, he additionally makes a good source of warmth in cold zones - and is usually the one who does all the cooking.
Inventory:
Backpack - Vulin has a decent-sized leather backpack, that is usually strapped to his back. It is quite heat-resistant, and thus Vulin usually isn't too afraid of fighting and getting pumped up while wearing it - though it's unlikely to survive, say, a dip into lava.
Copper Ring - Vulin wears a simple, etched copper ring on the end of his tail - a keepsake from home. It's a little scuffed, but it's clear that he otherwise does his best to take good care of it.
Kazoo - A blue plastic kazoo, with the mouthpiece a bit chewed up - though it's otherwise functional. No one knows where or how Vulin got this, but he's sometimes seen goofing off and playing it for the laughs, when he and Fennel are getting up to antics. It's generally kept in a pocket on his backpack.
Personality: Vulin, to begin, is a friendly fellow. Cheery and positive, always willing to make a new friend, and perhaps trusting to a fault - there isn't much that can put Vulin in a bad mood, or put him off from getting to know anyone he meets on the road! Any stranger you meet is just a friend you haven't gotten to know yet after all, he believes - albeit this can also become a fault of his in the form of his slight naivety, and almost over-trusting nature. As a result, he oftentimes relies upon Fennel to be a judge of character, unless he truly believes someone is a good person, or is otherwise unable to rely on Fennel for whatever reason. Out of the two, Vulin is usually the one who jumps to the occasion when someone needs help- being more than happy to put a smile on someone else's face.
When he isn't trying to befriend someone though, he may be trying to get into a spar instead! Vulin has a love for getting to stretch his muscles and practice in the form of a good fight, and it isn't uncommon for him and Fennel to be practicing with each other if there's no one else around. Vulin loves to learn, and looks up to stronger/elder digimon, sometimes seen trying to imitate techniques he's observed them using. He dreams of the day that all of his hard work pays off, and he could be as big and tough as them! This, additionally, plays into his more protective role - watching out for Fennel whenever the other seems to be struggling with something more physically intensive, or otherwise protecting him if danger is afoot.
Other things Vulin enjoys include general adventuring, hard work, and listening to stories from older digimon; though he doesn't like getting wet or swimming, feeling useless, puzzles or riddles, and bullies. It feels good for him to be able to put his qualities to good use, although he is not the most clever, even if he enjoys learning - thus generally leaving any of the brainy stuff to Fennel. Additionally, his affinity to fire and magma, and his ore scales, make it difficult for him to swim - and he finds it uncomfortable for him to get wet. So, he generally will prefer to circumvent bodies of water like rivers if he can help it - via flying, or climbing between trees.
Finally though, is his bond with Fennel. Being Fennel's twin, it isn't surprising that he shares a special bond with the Monodramon - though their opposite natures mesh together well, which results in their strengths helping make up for each others' weaknesses - Fennel's cleverness and speed, versus Vulin's strength and durability. Additionally, Vulin appreciates Fennel's sense of humor; and though Vulin isn't usually one to instigate antics, readily participates in Fennel's own antics. When separated from Fennel, Vulin grows despondent and concerned for his twin, and tends to drop everything to look for Fennel and make sure that he's okay.
Personal History: In a past life, Vulin and Fennel were both a single digimon - a Dorbickmon whom lived a quiet, secluded life in the furthest corners of the Western Flatlands. Though they were powerful, as a digimon of such a level would be expected to be, they kept to themselves - instead mulling over more philosophical concepts such as existence. They only ever raised a claw or blade against those who attacked first, and preferred to live peacefully, albeit secluded and quietly.
When their time came - severely injured in a fight with another digimon - they had made a pilgramage for civilization - to ensure that the resulting Digiegg would be safe. In their passing, the egg that Vulin and Fennel were born from would've been found by the townsfolk of ElDoradimon as the massive turtle-digimon made its way thru the flatlands, and the egg would be taken in under the watchful eyes of the caretakers there to ensure it would safely hatch.
Of the two, Vulin does not remember much of his past life - and as a result, it doesn't shape a lot of his being. At least, not consciously - sharing the same eagerness to grow and get stronger that Dorbickmon had in their youth. As a kid, Vulin was a well-meaning child, but a bit of an unintentional troublemaker with his boundless energy and klutziness - and it didn't help that he tended to bounce off of Fennel's tendency to practical jokes and antics! It was a blessing for the caretakers that his bouncing-off-the-walls nature also resulted in long naps, to recover the energy spent in his antics.
He grew up admiring the tougher digimon of ElDoradimon - particularly the guards and elders - though one of the caretakers, a Kyubimon named Saya, had a large impact on his upbringing; being a mother figure who helped instill a kind heart and a value for learning and knowledge in him. If he wasn't glued to Fennel's hip as they wandered the streets of the city though, he was oftentimes found at the heels of one of the digimon that he admired - trying to learn from them, or listen to their stories. He wanted to be big and strong like them! He wanted to help and protect people like they did! He also tried his hardest to help out with chores, although Fennel usually had to help out as well, to ensure that Vulin's klutziness didn't result in him causing more trouble than help.
When the two reached Rookie stage together though, Vulin would decide that he wanted to see the world, as a chance to make friends, to help people, and to get stronger! Thus, with a happy sendoff from the digimon of ElDoradimon, he would set off alongside Fennel - going out into the big, scary, open world - though Vulin was confident that with his twin at his side, they could do anything! Thus, Vulin travels alongside Fennel now - seeking out digimon to spar and learn from, and always looking for odd jobs to help those in need.
Digimon Name - Partner #2: Fennel
Default Form: Monodramon
Gender: Male, He/Them
Alignment: True Neutral
Skills/Talents: Fennel is the faster and more clever of the two, and as a result generally acts as a scout. When Vulin is dozing off, he's usually the one keeping an eye out for danger, or food for them to eat. He is particular about keeping his claws sharp and ready, and as a result they pack a punch in a fight when backing up Vulin - but he's also good at climbing, so as to better keep up with Vulin when he flies over obstacles. With his wit and a keen eye, Fennel is usually good at identifying edible plants, as well as identifying dangerous digimon from afar.
Inventory:
Shoulder-bag + Pouches - Fennel is usually seen wearing a shoulder-bag, for quick and easy access of supplies. Doesn't hold quite as much as Vulin's backpack, but Fennel makes it up in his pouches. These pouches in question are strapped to his hips, and to the base of his tail; he usually keeps smaller but still important objects in here - especially the pouches at his hips - for quick access.
Cloak - Fennel has an old leather cloak that he keeps around his shoulders, a keepsake from home. It's able to obscure his shoulder-bag and pouches for the most part, though he sometimes lends the cloak to Vulin when it's raining. On the back, is an emblem of ElDoradimon; a little faded and aged, but still plainly visible.
Journal - Though Fennel does keep some books with him for general use, his most treasured one is his personal journal. He keeps notes of their journey in here, as well as his personal thoughts, things he's learned that day, and notes on things such as what plants are safe to eat - or general directions to their next destination. He's usually seen scribbling in this when the two are resting and setting up camp.
Personality: Fennel, compared to his twin Vulin, isn't quite as social or friendly. It takes time for Fennel to gain trust in strangers that he's unused to, and it's easy to set that process back if he feels slighted by another person, or if they do something suspicious. This partially originates from their upbringing on ElDoradimon, with their rejection of humans, and as a result Fennel is especially standoffish towards non-digimon. Fennel is likely to tolerate a digimon that seems friendly enough, though if he gets the slightest sign that something isn't right, he's quick to alert Vulin and get out of there. Though Fennel isn't usually the type of digimon to go out of his way to help others - especially if he feels it'll detriment him or Vulin - he's willing to set this aside if Vulin insists on helping someone that doesn't seem too bad.
As far as fighting goes, Fennel prefers to stay out of trouble if he can help it - though is more than willing to spar with Vulin, or other friendly digimon, to keep his skills sharp. Instead, he prefers honing his mind - learning about practical information and skills, solving puzzles and riddles, and generally talking with older, wiser digimon - looking up to them much like Vulin. Instead of being bulk and strength though, Fennel is more swift and agile; using his quick wit and speed in combat, and to act more as a scout. It isn't uncommon for him to be the one keeping watch for the both of them, be it looking out for tougher, dangerous digimon on the road - or looking for food or shelter for the both of them to make use of. At the first sign of danger, Fennel usually is the one who warns Vulin, and guides them away to someplace safer.
As far as his likes and dislikes go, it's pretty obvious that Fennel has an appreciation for the more mind-oriented things, from riddles to simply learning new information and skills, to debates and discussions with wiser digimon that he could learn from. However, Fennel also has an appreciation for travel - much like Vulin - and also likes seeing new sights, exploring caves and ruins, as well as climbing - or otherwise hanging out in high vantage points. He enjoys playing pranks and joking around with those he trusts - Vulin included- and eating fruits, especially pastries, though has a dislike for bitter foods like vegetables. He also dislikes things like thunder for its loud noises, and tends to prefer sunny days to cloudy ones.
As far as his bond with Vulin goes though, he shares a special bond with him - not surprising, given that they are twins. Fennel appreciates Vulin's protectiveness and strength, and enjoys the other's cheery personality - though secretly feels that Vulin is too naive for his own good. Thus, Fennel sometimes feels an obligation to keep Vulin out of trouble or danger, if it's not immediately obvious to the Vorvomon. Otherwise though, it's not uncommon for Fennel to sometimes playfully poke fun at Vulin, or otherwise play practical jokes, which leads to Vulin doing the same in turn - resulting in a good-natured back and forth between the two dragon digimon as they travel. When separated from Vulin though, Fennel will tend to grow anxious and agitated - being prone to snapping at others in the process of looking for Vulin.
Fennel tends to remember bits and pieces of his past life, as opposed to Vulin; most of these bits coming in the form of dreams, and certain habits and tendencies. These faint memories are what draw Fennel to being the more mindful of the two, being primarily of Dorbickmon's solitary life up until their eventual death - when they were at their wisest. Fennel wants to answer the questions that his past life had pondered, and to perhaps learn even more than his past life did thru seeing the world beyond.
Though Fennel was the calmer of the two, he still was a troublemaker in his own right - playing jokes and poking fun, though it was all in good fun. He usually would clean up afterwards if he made a mess, and helped keep Vulin from making a mess in his own right. He, additionally, loved chatting with the older, wiser digimon of the city to learn from them - commonly looking up to an Antylamon named Jess. Though this helped shape his knowledge, especially practical things such as plant identification, it also was where his distrust of humans comes from - the older digimon tending to cling to these values more easily, and him picking up on this - and he didn't initially question it much, with his trust in the older digimon.
Once Fennel reached Rookie stage though, he was ready to spread his wings and travel beyond the city, at Vulin's side. He wanted to learn, to grow as a person, and to see places that he had never been to before! He, additionally, wanted to make sense of some of his memories - to figure out what kind of person he was in his past life. They would recieve a happy and proper sendoff from their friends and family of ElDoradimon, and he would thus set off with Vulin. He regarded the world to be a bit of a dangerous place, but it was filled with so much hidden knowledge - and really, he felt safe at Vulin's side. Thus, Fennel would travel with Vulin - seeking out hidden troves of history and knowledge, and exploring the furthest reaches of the Digital World that they could safely reach.

Vulin, in this form, has his copper ring just at the end of his tail - and said tail plus his wings are slightly larger than a normal Vorvomon's. This is both a blessing and a bit of an inconvenience though, given that this lets him fly for longer, though Vulin's tendencies towards klutziness also means that he's sometimes knocking into things with his wings or tail by mistake.

[PASSIVE] Molten Dragon: Vulin's hard scales and fiery nature allow him to withstand extreme heats more easily, including other digimons' fire-based attacks. He, additionally, is a little more resilient to physical attacks than most Rookies. However, he has a harder time with water and ice/cold-based attacks - as they cool his inner fire.
[ABILITY] Intercept: Upon seeing an incoming attack at an ally, Vulin darts to either knock his ally out of the way, or to otherwise put himself between them and the enemy - intercepting the attack and taking the damage instead.
[ATTACK] Sear Bite: His fangs increase in heat until they are practically glowing, before he bites down upon the foe.

Appearance:
Vulin, in this form, has his copper ring just at the end of his tail - and said tail plus his wings are slightly larger than a normal Vorvomon's. This is both a blessing and a bit of an inconvenience though, given that this lets him fly for longer, though Vulin's tendencies towards klutziness also means that he's sometimes knocking into things with his wings or tail by mistake.

Fighting Style: Matching Vulin's general passion and the fiery nature of his attacks as Shadramon, Vulin's fighting style in this form is flashy and bombastic to say the least. He's always on the move, either darting in for strikes with flaming fists, or backing off to do fiery blasts from afar, flitting about with his wings to try and stay just out of a landlocked enemy's reach. Overall though, he favors hand-to-hand, tanking hits with his thick carapace and keeping attention off of his brother while Fennel provides support and recon.
Abilities:
[NONCOMBAT PASSIVE] Delicate Wings: Vulin is able to fly for extended periods of time, though his wings cannot handle large weights. He is at the most able to carry a small Rookie, an in-training II digimon, or a small human child; but anything larger makes it increasingly difficult for him to fly.
[PASSIVE] Molten Insect: Vulin's hard carapace and fiery nature allow him to withstand extreme heats more easily, including other digimons' fire-based attacks. He, additionally, is a little more resilient to physical attacks than most Armor Champions. However, he has a harder time with water and ice/cold-based attacks.
[ABILITY] Flare Aura: For the next 2 turns, Vulin coats himself in fire, hot enough to make the air around him shimmer. While this aura is active, if he makes contact with another enemy - either from them attacking him directly, or him attacking them directly - they take additional moderate damage as the flames burn at them. [3 Turn Cooldown]
[ABILITY] Firewall: Vulin raises a wall of flames in any given spot near him. Energy-based and otherwise nonflammable projectiles are able to pass thru it, but anyone who passes thru it takes heavy fire damage. This wall lasts 3 turns before fizzling out. [3 Turn Cooldown]
[ATTACK] Hellburst: A destructive attack, Vulin spends the first turn charging - during which intense heat is building up within him. He moves at half speed, but any attackers that make direct contact take minor heat-based damage as well. On the next turn, Vulin releases this heat in a fiery blaze around him, dealing damage to all digimon - friend or foe - within a short radius of him. [2 Turn Cooldown]
[ATTACK] Blaze Barrage: Vulin strikes the enemy with a devastating flurry of flaming punches! [1 Turn Cooldown]
[ATTACK] Sear Strike: Heating up his fists, Vulin makes a few quick jabs at the enemy.

Appearance:
Fennel is generally seen wearing a leather cloak around his shoulders, with an emblem of ElDoradimon emblazoned on the back of it.
Attribute: Vaccine
Family/ies: Dragon's Roar, Metal Empire, Nature Spirits
Type: Small Dragon
Fighting Style: Whereas Vulin gets close and personal, Fennel favors a more quick in-and-out guerilla type tactic, or otherwise fighting from afar. He supports Vulin with his quick wits and speed, and by using quick strikes or electric-based attacks.
Abilities:
[PASSIVE] Keen Eye: Fennel is always watching the battlefield, keeping aware of his surroundings. He's more likely to notice if something is amiss, and is thus harder to surprise with a sudden attacks as a result - being overall 50% more likely to be able to dodge. However, he's not as good at blocking attacks if otherwise unable to dodge them, and thus takes 20% more damage from attacks that land.
[ABILITY] Call Weakness: By spending a turn observing the opponent instead of attacking, Fennel is able to discern a weak point of some form - either in their stance, or their physiology. Fennel can then choose to give himself 75% increased damage next turn, or to call it out and give an ally 50% increased damage - the decreased damage being from the enemy overhearing and having a chance to prepare themselves [2 Turn Cooldown]
[ATTACK] Electro Ball: Charging up concentrated electricty in his maw, Fennel fires it at the enemy. Upon impact, it does no damage - but the electricity locks up the enemy's muscles temporarily, slowing them by 50% for 2 turns. [2 Turn Cooldown]
[ATTACK] Zap Strike: Electrifying his claws, Fennel gets in close to strike at the foe with quick punches.

Fighting Style: In this form, Fennel is able to take wing and be the eyes in the sky while his twin brother fights up-close. He plays a heavy support role, calling out warnings and weak points to his brother, as well as providing covering fire with ranged attacks, though he is able to dart in and tear at an enemy with his talons as well if need be. With his swift and flighty nature, he can be difficult to hit; but he's also more fragile than most digimon his level, much like in his Monodramon form.
Abilities:
[NONCOMBAT PASSIVE] Powerful Wings: Fennel's large size and strong wings allow him to fly for extended periods of time, as well as carry a passenger with minimal issue. He can carry a full grown man or an average-sized Rookie digimon on his back or in his claws, though anything heavier makes it increasingly difficult for him to fly.
[NONCOMBAT PASSIVE] Hawkeyes: In this form, Fennel's sharp gaze lets him see more detail and spot things from further away than most.

[ATTACK] Feather Storm: With a powerful flap of his wings, Fennel rains electrified feathers down upon the enemy from afar. This attack does minor damage - but the quills embed themselves and stick to the foe on impact, and continue to inflict minor damage once a turn for an additional 2 turns thereafter - after which the feathers lose their electricity and fall off. [2 Turn Cooldown]
[ATTACK] Thundercall: Fennel spends a turn charging electricity in his horn, during which he focuses intensely and is vulnerable to attacks. After the turn, he fires a devastating bolt of lightning down upon a single enemy, dealing heavy damage. [1 Turn Cooldown]
[ATTACK] Shock Talons: Diving down into close combat, Fennel tears at the enemy with electrified talons.
