"...It should be around here..."
Amidst strong, chilling gale and the vast expanse of glittering salt and sand, two figures slowly marching to a destination they once discovered before, yet decided to not approach due to lack of manpower. The first figure is a young boy in his preteen, coated with rather light warm coat and wearing visor to protect his eyes from the glares reflected by various saline (or is it something else?) crystals that juts out from the landscape. The boy is Shishidou Tetsushi. In KIZNA, he made his position as a restoration specialist rather known in his project to make shelters in the Spear of Megiddo. However, sadly that project is hitting a snag when exams period happened. Now nearing Christmas, he had more time and is currently tasked with another thing.
That day, Tetsu was called to the leader's office.
"Tetsu"
"Yeah? What's up? Is... there is something wrong?"
Looking at the face of the boy that looked like he's almost preparing himself for scolding, Yuuki chuckled, but shook his head. "I'm not going to scold you. Hey, listen, you took this photo, right?"
The leader presented a photo of a cave that he once took when he was with Ayumi and Amelie in the Shining Sea. When he separated for them after their research is over, Tetsu accidentally stumbled into a huge cavern near a mountain... but...
"What with it?"
"Can I ask you to check them out just in case?"
"Huh... uh, well, sure."
"Keep us updated. I'll be in contact with our team communication."
...Admittedly, he had no idea what to make with this idea of something is in the cave. While at first skeptic of any significance, he decided to just roll with it. More adventure is good!
"Sadly there's not much landmarking over here..." the second figure commented. "If you want to use crystals as landmarking, they're not really like trees, and staring at them made your eyes hurt. If we can go here at night that would be better as they'll looks darn mesmerizing, but heck.."
"It'll be dangerous," Tetsu continued. "Yeah, I get you."
The second figure is Tetsu's partner Gryz. The corrupted Bearmon, currently Gryzmon takes the role of his transportation over here after they arrived. In time like this, Tetsu hoped that they have the money to bought cars or such. It would be better... But either way...
"I sure hope we're not lost."
"Should I try to evolve to Belphemon just in case?"
"No, probably let's not... Maybe we can climb one of the crystal..."
"DENIED," Gryz firmly stopped him. Last thing he need is a headline of a boy broke his bones just because the crystals suddenly shattered under his weight. He have no idea how strong and durable those are anyway.

Apparently the amount of weight the crystal could support was exactly one Gigimon as the little Dragon digimon scrambled up the surface perching near the top as she peered around at the endless sands with wide bright blue eyes. "I don't know Alpha! This doesn't look like the Digital Central to me." Eris called down to her companion only to pause little ears perking up at the sight of movement in the distance. "Hey! Hey wait! I think I see someone!" She exclaimed even as she reared back on her hind legs waving her front feet in the air to try to get their attention. "HEY YOU! YOU OVER THERE! HEEEYYY!!!" She yelled out her voice carrying over the sands with surprising gusto. The tiny In-training apparently having quite the set of lungs on her.Though her yell soon turning into a sharp "Y-IPE!" as she lost her balance and toppled over backwards. |

Alpha just watched as Eris climbed up the crystal, still thinking it was a horrible idea considering they didn't really seem all that tough and that they could break in any moment. He sighed at the little Gigimon climbing up the crystal edging closer to the crystal itself as she had ran ahead to scout the area just before he could get close enough he looked up at her hearing her see someone else "Okay good now just come down from there! That is definitely not safe!" Before he got to completely finish his sentence Eris had already started falling making Alpha grit his teeth slightly as he started running towards her as fast as he could, unaware of the devices she had obviously. Alpha swore to himself to not let Eris away from his eyesight and keep her close like a little kid just to make sure she wouldn't keep getting into trouble.
As Alpha got closer he say the tamer and digimon pair in a bit of distance but ignoring them for now, to catch Eris so she wouldn't possibly hurt herself. Alpha definitely didn't want to get scolded by a Gallantmon for letting his precious little daughter get hurt like this. He could already feel the shivers of how mad her dad might be to him so he picked up his pace even more.

Two more individuals were walking the sparkling sands of the Shining Sea today, meandering around the crystals. One was a large, brown-skinned young man dressed in a heavy green jacket, hardy brown cotton hiking trousers and warm boots, and had his black hair covered with a warm woolen beanie, with some fingerless gloves taking the chill out of his hands a little. And the other, a large bear-like digimon, walking quite steadily on his hind legs. Covered in shaggy purple fur with white on his muzzle, belly and little tail, his claws augmented with leather gauntlets, as well as some armored padding for his elbows and chest. This was Brad the Grizzmon and his partner Niko 'Nik' Henare.
The human stood 6'3", the Grizzmon nearly 10 feet. And both of their eyes were focused with amazement of their surroundings. The Shining Sea was truly as beautiful as the stories they had heard had mentioned.
Why they were here? Well, it just so happened that Nik was the bearer of the Crest of Curiosity. And that trait was easily one of his strongest. So, when he heard tales of a great crystal desert from his partner, kept hidden by the mountains that separated the Western Flatlands and Northern Prominence, he just had to see.
So, a Trailmon trip later to a remote mountain village at the border of the Flatlands, and guidance from some local digimon that would help them seek a path through the mountains, there awaited the sight of the white sea. They were almost dazzled by how everything twinkled.
"We saw a village here before" Brad told him. "An expedition back when PROFIT was still around. I came here with Colin and his partners, Cion, Bellamy's daughter Gaz, and Mana and her partners" he explained. Nik didn't know any of those people yet other than from tales from Brad, but, he spoke of them kindly, so he supposed they were good people.
They walked the white expanse for a little while, the crystal sands gritty but firm under their feet. Soon, they came to a giant crystal, as tall as a tree.
"Hey, Nik..." Brad began, hesitantly. "Could you... touch this crystal with me please? Sorry, I just need to figure out something"
"Of course, bro" Nik said, smiling. Gently, he and Brad pressed hand and paw against the side of the crystal. And to their amazement, it changed color slightly, and felt warm to their touch. For some reason, this made Brad truly delighted.
"Thanks, Nik" he said. "I'll... tell you what that meant to me later. It appears your digivice is glowing".
"Hm? So it is" Nik said, drawing it from his pocket and looking at what was there. He saw that it had picked up the signals of other digivices in the area. "Ah, seems we're not alone here" he remarked. "Let's check 'em out".
And so Nik and Brad would make their way to where the others were gathering. First thing they saw was a large black and white bear with a boy on him. "Oh hey! Tetsu and Gryz are here!" Brad exclaimed with delight. But then, to his horror, he saw something red atop one of the crystals. And suddenly, it fell!
Nik and Brad would never arrive in time, but they ran forward anyway. It seemed that a silver Dorumon was closer, hopefully he could save them!

"Wow, this place is beautiful!" Exclaimed John as he looked at the crystals, touching one as he walked by it. John was wearing a light blue shirt, with black jeans and a dark green zip-up hoodie. "I agree, you chose well for the place to explore today." His renamon walked beside him, keeping an eye out for any dangers.
"Although maybe don't touch the strange crystals that you know nothing about." She said, eyeing the one he touched with concern. John shrugged, "It's fine, I don't think they're that dangerous." He took his hand off of it as they continued, looking around at the other crystals.
As they approached the group of people, Runa held her arm out in fount of John, pointing up at the Gigimon that was calling out at the other people, "Is that digimon going to be okay?" John asked, right before it lost it's balance. "Runa, help it!" John yelled in surprise and worry. "On it." She replied as she sprinted towards the Gigimon, she was fast and could easily catch the falling digimon, but outside interference could trip her up.

Upon hearing a voice in this strange place (that honestly made him wonder who would come to this place willingly? There's not much to see in here except the beauty (unless they're researcher)), Gryz turned his head to the source and saw a black gigimon...
...ON A TALL CRYSTAL
That was enough to broke Gryz's usual zen face and in its place he looked completely aghast. Tetsu meanwhile doesn't quite see the danger... at least until the Digimon suddenly slipped. Gryz was quick to the action. Powered by the adrenaline, he sprinted like never before to catch the baby.
"NUUUOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
The bear skidded on the sand sea, not even caring how uncomfortable it feel when his hard fur scraped against the sand and outstretched his paw in hope to catch the baby. Powered by determination, he even skipped several evolution stage, directly to Belphemon just to get this poor fella to safety. Yet... his paw remained empty...
"...Hr...?"
"...Uh, it seems like she got floating device on her, Gryz."
A groan came out from the now Belphemon Gryz as he facepalmed, but soon dusted himself off from the sands. Bad thing tho, now he can't devolve. Curse his abnormal data. At any rate... The demonic ursine signed off to Tetsu who came closer to translate for him, as currently he lost his ability to speak.
"...Errr, so Gryz wanted to ask you if you're fine. He was really worried. Don't worry, although he looks like this he's not evil at all."

The little red Gigimon plummeted too wrapped up in her own fear to realize the panic she'd sewn in the others as she vainly tried the flap her ears, little legs flailing in a desperate attempt to slow her rapid fall. At least until about half way down the crystal the little device sewn to her pouch kicked in as her descent slowed as the anti-grav device did it's work. Leaving the tiny in-training flailing on her back letting out little terrified Meep!'s until she settled safely in Alpha's arms. Where she proceeded to flip back rightside up and grip said arm with all the force she could manage with her shaking limbs and tail.
"Found them." She added a little weakly her red cheeks turning a brighter shade of crimson at the realization of the fuss she'd caused even as she buried her face against Alpha's fur in embarrassment.
"Sorry~ I'm ok." Eris mumbled out words muffled by the Dorumon's fluff as somewhere a Gallantmon was unknowingly grateful that the first thing he'd done living on a giant floating island was get his trouble prone child the digital equivalent of a parachute.

Alpha waited for the little Gigimon to fall down onto his arms while noticing a mega stage Belphemon just appear out of nowhere scaring the shit out of Alpha with the sudden appearance before noticing that it was also trying to catch Eris. After that he noticed how Eris started floating, sighing a bit finally calming down as he then catched little Eris watching her push her face against his fur, making him laugh a bit and petting her. "That was definitely not a good idea Eris. I hope you won't scare everyone like this." Alpha looked around seeing everyone who came to catch the little gigimon scratching his head slightly "I'm sorry for Eris causing everyone to worry about her but even i didn't know about that anti-grav device."
Alpha sighed a bit and looked up at the big mega and now his tamer arrived too before looking up at the Belphemon and back at his tamer. Alpha nodded slightly at the tamer. "I guess he himself can't talk then?" Alpha looked up at the huge Belphemon.

Before Nik and Brad could reach the scene, their eyes widened as Gryz made a desperate lunge for them as well. And in doing so, he evolved all the way to Belphemon! Such a sight was enough to make Nik freeze in his tracks. Brad skidded to a halt slightly ahead of him.
"Whoa..." Nik remarked. "Sure looks like Gryz's grown a bit, eh?" he asked. Brad by now was used to Nik's tendency to make mundane comments about extraordinary things, and simply turned to his partner to nod.
Thankfully the Gigimon was fine. It turned out that they had some kind of anti-grav device on them that allowed them to levitate. That made Nik interested, that was a pretty useful thing to have, especially in a world like this.
Well then. Now that they had all gathered in this spot, Nik supposed the next course of action was to get to know all these other interesting individuals. He already knew Tetsu and Gryz, but of course would be delighted to catch up with them, especially now that Gryz was now capable of evolving to Belphemon. So, the both of them approached the group, Brad sitting down on his haunches as Nik stopped, giving a wave alongside his partner.
"It's fine, bro" Nik said to the silver Dorumon as he apologized. "Nobody's hurt, so that's the main thing. Anyway, my name's Nik, this is my partner Brad, nice to meet you all". From the way he spoke his Japanese, it was obvious he wasn't a native. It was heavily mixed with his native New Zealand accent, which he hoped wouldn't make it too difficult for him to be understood. But if others spoke English here, he'd respond in turn with his natural tongue.
Brad had assured him that digimon could pick up languages pretty easily, but, with other humans around, he'd best kind of get to grips with the situation first. Meanwhile, the purple Gryzmon looked at Eris with interest.
"I see you've got an anti-grav device" he said. "That's something not many in-training digimon come across. I take it you've been on a few adventures so far?" he asked, always maintaining a gentle tone of curiosity.
With that said, he turned to Gryz. "Hey there. I see that the prophecies were right, you did become a Belphemon. But I'm glad to see that you haven't rendered the terrain asunder with demonic wrath. So, my friend, how are you feeling at the moment?"
Nik meanwhile would wait for John, Renamon, the Gigimon and Dorumon to acknowledge them before inquiring further on the reason why they were all here.

Runa blinked at the floating Gigimon as it seemed perfectly fine, stopping as it activated the device. John was running up to her to get a better look. "Huh, guess there was no need to do anything." He said next to her, "I suppose so, I don't see anything that could have saved this digimon though." Runa replied, trying to find where the anti-grav device could be.
John walked up to the Gigimon, and Dorumon, squatting down to get a better look at them and the device. "I have never seen something like this happen before though, something that's gonna be a common thing for me to say probably. My name's John, and this is my friend and partner." He said as he pointed his thumb to Runa, she only waved in response. "Nice to meet ya!" He held out his hand to the two to shake.
After that, he stood up and turned to the others who where there, both amazed and intimidated by the sheer size of some of them. While nervous he decided to try and be polite and bow casually. "It's nice to meat you, I'm John. I'm hoping I'm not interrupting anything here? We where just passing through." Runa had walked up next to him, doing the same thing. "I'm Runa, I'm his partner." She stated, and the two of them ended the bow at the same time.

"Yeah he can't talk," Tetsu answered for his partner "not in this form at least. His data got corrupted quite a lot at this form, so it disabled numbers of his functions, mostly his healing prowess and his ability to speak. So we kind of just learn how to sign in this form. I can translate for him and he'll just... well, sign."
To Nik and Brad, Gryz grinned slightly and raised a hand in greeting. His face returned to its usual calm zen face yet again. Even in this huge form, he's still looking as friendly as a teddy bear... well, if people could ignore his demonic appearance that is. To the question, Gryz signed to Tetsu, who immediately burst out laughing.
"He said he's fine, he's a demon lord as the prophecy said. He have enough to buy a huge, golden necklace and rad shade. Not to mention, he said he already bought a huge stereo box, but... he's disappointed. No matter how hard he tried, he can't rap."
The huge demon lord just grinned and make a peace sign with his right hand.
"...But either way... what are you doing up here, Nik? Brad? You guys too... not too many stuff around here, I think. Did Yuuki-san also asked you to come, Nik?"
There's that rule that KIZNA members are not allowed to act solo in dangerous areas or missions, after all.

"Hello~ It's nice to meet you all. I'm Eris." The little Gigimon murmured peaking out over Alpha's form so just her little blue eyes were visible. Her voice muffled somewhat from the Dorumon's fur as she blinked at the purple bear digimon in confusion before she registered exactly what he was saying.
"Oh! Err...My Dad and I live on a floating island. He got me this sticker thing and told me to never. ever. take it off or he'd be very mad at me. Apparently it stops falling." She explained, the usually confident digimon rendered shy by the sudden crowd. Though she couldn't help, but giggled at the Belphemon 'words?'
"But he doesn't look scary. I thought Demon Lords were supposed to be scary?" Eris whispered questioningly to Alpha as she peered up at Gryz in confusion.
"He just looks really fluffy. I want to pet him. Can I pet him Alpha?" The Little Gigimon questioned wiggling in her companions arms in excitement as some of her boldness returned in the face of such a 'cute' digimon.

Alpha sighed once more feeling as if he was gonna get a headache from worrying too much for his companion. He looked at John before nodding but not shaking hands as he didn't know why he was holding his hand out, as if asking for something. Alpha also gazed up at the Belphemon not being able to speak and being quite different than what he was also imagining. He took a deep breath and looked at Eris' silly question "Eris, i think you should rather ask them than me, as i can't decide for others and well it usually depends on how you look at the certain Demon Lord i guess?"
Alpha was confused as to how to react to all this before opening his mouth again. "Nice to meet you all, I'm Alpha as you can see Eris is my companion for the journey but i think we somehow got lost along the way and ended up here! I suppose some of you have met each other already?" Alpha looked around the group noting at the different forms and such.

Nik pretty much gave a wink and a wave at John and Runa. That was the type of person he was after all, friendly and casual. They then learned that Gryz seemed to be unable to speak in this form, but at least still was able to communicate. "Ah... okay" Nik said, a little unsure. He didn't understand sign language, but thankfully Tetsu did.
When they figured out what he said though, Nik laughed heartily, while Brad chortled as well. Eventually, Tetsu asked them how they came across this place.
"Well, I've actually been here before" Brad explained, the purple Gryzmon sitting down on his haunches for a moment. "Before I met Nik I mean. We were exploring with some friends; Colin, Mana and Cion. So, since we got back, I was rather curious and asked Nik if we could return, so we did". He looked around at the crystals around them. "These crystals for instance... I sense a significance to them, and we were hoping to collect a sample to take to someone who might be able to tell us more about them".
"Yeah, no kidding" Nik said. "When Brad and I touched a crystal together, it glowed and felt warm. That was something that made me curious".
Nik and Brad chuckled at Eris, the little Gigimon was so cute to them. Brad meanwhile raised an eyebrow. "Ah, a floating island? So you've been to Luminas too?" he asked. He had an adventure up there, once. Although those he was accompanying, he had not seen since. One of which made him sad, he missed the little Pipmon.
Regardless, it seemed they were at a point where they had all introduced themselves. "So then, now that we're all here, how 'bout we travel together? You all seem nice, and we can help each other out if we need to" he offered. He thought it was safe to do so, since nobody seemed to be a threat, and they all seemed to be here for exploring.

"Hrrr..." Gryz seems to say something in response to Eris' inquiry. Tetsu immediately jumped in to translate. "He said something along the line of 'it's rare for someone to see me as teddy bear still in this form, but I don't mind. If you want a lil pet, that's fine, young lady' or something like that."
The nod of the calm faced Belphemon seems to say that it's a correct translation. He gave Eris a thumbs up and an offer of hand to reach the top of his head.
"Well, uh, I guess this is a late introduction, but name's Tetsu. Here's my partner Gryz. He's not a scary demon lord so don't worry. He's a pacifist if any."
The crystal is indeed interesting. "Maybe we can get some for experiment?" Tetsu suggested. He's not well versed in this technical stuff, but he's very interested in its properties. What does it used for? Why does it feels warm? Many question swirling, but all in all, he just want to know what's up with it really. Will it help him on his western project? Hmmm...
"...Maybe I'll excavate it later... Anyway, travelling together sounds fun, but I have a mission you see... unless you guys have nothing to do, then I definitely wouldn't mind to travel together..."
"Hrrr..."
"That's rude, Gryz! I'm not lost!"
"Grhrhrhrhrhr~~" the Belphemon chuckled in reply.
"Anyway, um, we're looking for a really special cave, apparently... but sadly I... don't think there are any landmarks to show us where are we... so honestly I think we're lo--I mean, we're... directionally confused!"
"...Bftt hrrr..."
"Like I said it's different from being lost!"
