[attr="class","xenica"]" Oh, good, I'm glad you made the right decision." The tattooed teenager said over her shoulder, noticing that both of the girls had decided to come with her. Honestly, that was a lot easier than she previously anticipated. Now she could finally do something, rather than sit around for days watching videos. What did that guy know, anyways? " Either of you girls go to the Digital World before?" If they hadn't before, they would certainly be in for a shock. " That's where we're goin', I know a couple people there who've been helping me out." The streets weren't exactly empty yet, so it was rather bold to just be speaking about this kind of stuff when anybody could potentially overhear, but what did it matter. Xenica turned a corner, coming closer to a string of restaurants that happened to be on the way to the train station. " Guess we gotta go to the train station to get there, though." She never really understood why that was the case, it would make far more sense if the portals existed in some sort of digital appliance over a mechanized one. Once again, it was probably best to just not question these things. The teenager reached her destination, telling her companions to either wait there or follow her inside. Regardless, she returned from the restaurant in a few minutes, a steaming plastic bag in each of her hands. " We'll eat it on the train, 'kay? We don't have a lotta time." With that said, she continued forward towards the station, turning down an alleyway which she knew as a shortcut that would save them at least ten minutes of time. " I know it's dark, but there ain't nothin' but rats back here." Xenica spoke to her comrades, hoping to put them at ease. "Dude, I just learned about this garbage... Do you THINK I have gone there?" Akari somewhat snidely retorted to Xenica's painfully obvious question. No shit she has not seen the Digital World... She somewhat got the feeling Xen was messing with her here, though decided to not press the matter. Point was that she was going to need to go to this Digital World now... something she was positive she'd be unable to tell her parents. Well fortunately her parents trusted her enough that even being gone for a remotely lengthy period of time wasn't going to be questioned.
Train? Okay, she would have just thought Xen was shitting with them now if she had not seen what she saw back there... "Not gonna lie, you sound freaking nuts Xen... but fine." the girl sighed, shaking her head slightly as Xen went in to get their food; she turning to Mao briefly. "Is she for real...? You get there by a train?"
God, this shit didn't make a lick of sense.
Frankly, by the time Xen got back Akari was willing to just go with the flow. Quick trip through a dark alley? No biggie really. "Bleh. Not a big deal. At this point, not really anything can scare me..." she somewhat dully noted... though she silently hoped she wasn't just jinxing herself here.

...Did Xen really have to ask her that? Mao just kind of looked at the blue-haired girl like she was a dumbass or something. "I...don't think I need to answer that." Of course she had. How the fuck did she think she got her spirits? Sucking her thumb? Goddamn, that question probably made her actually lose some brain cells.
Mao took one look at Akari. "She's not wrong, but also, that's not the whole truth. There's a portal there somewhere in the trash river. Otherwise, the main entrance is via train." She told the blonde as she followed Xen. "...I've seen things that no rats can compare to, so, can't be that bad."

[attr="class","xenica"]" Ya'll callin' me stupid? Look, ladies, I don't know where you've been." It was obvious that these random condescending comments upset Xenica a little bit, or at least frustrated her. " I ain't your babysitter, you know?" She then began to take a couple of deep breaths, mentally telling herself that she needed to calm down. Calm down, it ain't no big deal, these two just ignorant still. Let the players play. This particular alleyway was pretty long, and twisted and turned in an unnatural way. It was the one she had previously made herself comfortable in, since very few people, other than vagrants, actually passed through here. It was simply too dark and too gross for most people. Shadows moved around on the walls as they walked, being cast from buildings above, various rodents, and the gang of three themselves. It was discomforting, to say the least, as each movement seemed like something was about to pop out of the darkness. " We're almost there. Just a couple more turns, and we're all good." It seemed like their lucky day, there was like an eighty-percent chance of getting ambushed here. After all, there were still a few of those criminals lurking around town, likely getting bored now that night has fallen. Maybe she spoke too soon, though. Xenica had personally barely noticed it, but a set of heavy footsteps followed the three the entire way, the perpetrator of the sounds staying far enough away to stay in total darkness. Akari merely let out a gentle sigh as Xen somewhat snapped back. She was a bitter and somewhat irritable person, but she held friendships somewhat highly... a few good friends beat having a hundred incompetent bastards as a posse in most cases. "No no, sorry if I came off as rude Xen, just... look, you can't go expecting me to know just everything about all this. I'm a fish out of water here." she somewhat lowered the harshness of her tone, squinting her eyes as their little group entered the darkest parts of Shibuya.
So Xenica wasn't being crazy... She wasn't sure how a train system like Shibuya's connected to another world without anyone else noticing, but there were clearly forces at work here that prevented that. On the plus side, train certainly beat the idea of even getting close to Shibuya River... that rancid abomination of a river needed to be cleaned up severely, yet this incompetent city was unable to even do that!
At least they were almost at the station... Jesus, even being out this late was a handful for the nerves. Even the slightest creaks or sounds sent shivers down her spine, enough to get her to somewhat tap Mao on the shoulder. "Can you walk a bit quieter? I mean, I know your leg is still funny..." she quietly asked, though soon enough realized that the sound she was hearing was NOT from Mao. "... Move. Move." she whispered, her heart skipping a few beats as she tried to hasten their pace.
Maybe whoever it was wouldn't notice?

"I'm not calling you stupid or anything but I felt like it was obvious enough that I've been there considering I know my Digimon. Mostly." Not to mention going up against a family of monkeys on her...what, second? Third day in there? Furthermore, at least she was learning something from the equivalently-as-scrawny girl.
Namely another way to access the train station portal(s?) from. The only problem was that this place...didn't seem too safe. Then again, Mao wasn't very acquainted with what safe was tonight considering what had happened earlier. Upon Akari telling them to move (upon which Mao noticed they were NOT alone), she hastened her walking as best as she could with her leg.
"The fuck is that?" She muttered.

[attr="class","xenica"]" Good, I'm glad, because I ain't stupid, I happen to know a lot of things. Some of the best things, even." The teenager flipped her neon hair, sweeping her bangs to the side so that they were out of her face. At this point, she was largely unconcerned with whatever had been following them. After all, they were about at their destination. " Really thinking I might go pink someday, whaddya think?" It was a misplaced question, but really, its something that's been on her mind for quite some time now. Unfortunately, that question would likely go unanswered. The trio would find themselves stopped - the path forward was entirely covered and blocked off by some sort of webbing. Whatever spider may of made that definitely wasn't from this world, and had to be at least the size of a full grown adult male. Xenica reached out one of her fingers, taking a sample of the web and dabbing it in her mouth, to confirm her suspicious. " It's digital." If it wasn't obvious before she said this, whatever happened here was the clear work of a Digimon of some sort. How did they know she would go this route? How did they even know she was leaving the city? " Looks like at least one of them numbskulls caught onto us." Xenica looked up to a nearby fire escape, one that would likely lead them to the rooftops and out of this situation. The only problem - it was about twelve feet off the ground. The other option to get through this would be through disposing of the barrier somehow, but that wouldn't be an easy task, either. " Doubt we have much time. We either gotta take the stairs, or burn through this webbing." She did have a lighter on her, but lighting this ablaze would likely attract whatever set the trap. The stairs would likely be the proper choice, and as such, she went over to them, attempting a couple times to jump up and reach them, but to no avail. " Aight, aight. You lasses need to go first, I'll give you a lift since I'm the strongest here. Just pull me up after I do." There wasn't much time, Xenica motioned for Red to come over to her so that she could be lifted up first. Next would be Akari, and hopefully, it would all be done before whatever it was caught up to them. Hey...the footsteps...they stopped. Akari was definitely not doubting Xen's intellect... They were eccentric yeah, but there were few people she knew with the amount of street smarts Xen had. "The neon-blue is good... but yeah, pink is a good option. Maybe with a lil' blue and purple clothing-wise?" Akari ended up adding in, figuring that she'd offer least a little bit of her own wisdom in regards to fashion. Hell, maybe a jacket could complement such?
A person only appeared as good as they looked after all... It didn't matter if your heart was made of gold if you looked ugly as sin.
If there wasn't an obvious sign though that something really fuckin' wrong going on, there was one now... At first she mistook the giant web as some cliche Halloween decoration that some prankster put up, but go figure that it was relating to all this Digimon shit... that was indeed a genuine web, one that came out of probably some giant spider's ass. The way Akari shivered briefly pretty well told a story... one, the idea of a spider anything was enough to make her hesitate. Two, a giant spider was basically a living nightmare fuel factor. More importantly, it meant someone was on their tail.
"One of them...? Who the hell did we piss off?" Akari for a moment spoke in a exasperated tone, though no time to go and question this shit. They had to move... fast. Xenica was least quick to come up with an escape route, though they were going to need to work together to get up to those stairs. "Your go four-eyes." the girl managed to whisper, doing her own part to help Xen support Mao before hopefully getting a chance to climb up too. Job should be easier once they get at least someone up there...
As soon as Akari was able to get up, she squinted at the darkness ahead as she reached her arms out to try and get ahold of Xenica... Goddamn, why was tonight so dark? She couldn't see any bastard after them, though that only increased her worries.

Mao Kita had faced some pretty big challenges in the past few months. None of them were as big as the fight against this...urge to snort at Xen's words. Though, if she was actually asking for fashion advice, she felt the need to at least try helping. "Yeah, I'm with Akari. It depends on what you pair it up with in terms of clothing. Pink's nice and all but you need to...well. Match."
The aesthetic tastes of people invariably differed in many aspects so it was important to at least make the aesthetic you carry...stand out in a good way. Though...That was unimportant right now. What was after them? "...It's a bad time to admit that I've never fought a spider before." She noted, at the webbing.
As Mao accepted the help in climbing up, she was also the first to notice that the footsteps had stopped. "...Hey, uh. I don't think the footsteps being gone is a good thing. Is it?" She noted as she offered help to lift the remaining girls up.

[attr="class","xenica"]Mao was first to go, which was the logical choice. After Xenica helped Akari up, she pulled herself up with the help of the two girls. Unfortunately, she dropped her food during this action, meaning that it'd probably be crappy Digital World pizza again. " Aww...dammit..." She mumbled to herself with geniune saddness, briefly looking down at the spilled chow mein. Now wasn't the time to dwell on food, though. The only way to go from here was up. " I'll explain, but move first. Go, go, go!" The teenager commanded, going up the metal stairs first before Mao and Akari. The quicker they got to the roof, the better. Running away wasn't exactly part of her plan, but it was better to make her friends believe it was. In truth, running away from this particular enemy wouldn't be easy - after all, she had spent most of the day observing how these people fought. Fighting in such a narrow area, however, was suicide. " Remember? There's more than just that Argomon jerk. I dunno how, but I think they found out I'm ditching them." God, she really hoped that she didn't have one of those cameras implanted in her. She would have to do a scan later, just to make sure. " Hopefully it's just one. We might have to fight, alright?" In truth, it was a bit exciting. She had been waiting to test out her own abilities. Xenica stopped just before the top of the stairs, recalling something that had been given to her my that mysterious angel. It was a Digivice, but one not like her own. It was of no personal use to her, but she was told to give it to her most powerful, trusted ally, when the time was right - and only when the time was right. What the fuck did she know? They needed it now. " Hey, wait, before we go. Akari, take this. It's yours now." The azure haired teen grabbed the blonde's hand, bringing it upwards, and then placing the object in her hand. She brought both hands away in the same motion, revealing the object. For whatever reason, it now reacted, the screen lighting up as if it had responded to touching Akari. " Alright, here we go!" Xenica climbed the remaining few stairs, making her way to the rooftop... You know, Akari actually forgot about their dinner as well... Well, not like that was what was important right now. An empty stomach sure as hell beat being dead, that was for sure.
Akari didn't even try to question this shit anymore... There was no time to argue about menial stuff while being stalked. This was a side of Xen that she had never really seen before... If there was something Xenica was worried about, you HAD to know it was serious. Akari let out an irritated scowl at the mention of there being more of Xen's somewhat traitorous co-workers... Go figure there were more of those unseemly bastards. "... Tch. Disloyal shits..." she silently whispered, though hesitated hearing that a fight may be brewing. As much as she wanted to believe that no one was after them now, she couldn't be as optimistic about this as Mao. "... Do you think you'll be able to like turn into that thing again? I don't want you getting hurt four-eyes." she ended up asking with a look of concern as they moved.
Look, she was a cold-hearted bastard... but she didn't want anyone she knew actually getting hurt here.
As they closed the gap between them and the roof, Akari paused as she was soon handed something by Xen... A white-purple device whose screen lit up as she touched it. While it looked different from the Digivices that Xen and Mao had, Akari was keen enough to assume this was just like them... Different, but still cut from the same page as the other Digivices. "B-But what am I supposed to do with this?" she asked, somewhat doubting it had the same capabilities as the other two Digivices. Xen mentioned that there were people who had Digimon for partners, but where the hell was hers if she WAS one of those people now?
Regardless, at least they were finally on the roof... The sandy-blonde managed to gasp for breath as she tried to cool down, looking to the other two girls with an exhausted look. "... You... You don't think we lost them, did we?"

"Oh, right." Mao commented, flatly. While she wasn't sure how some people that she was pretty sure Xen referred to as morons found out about the plan? She was pretty sure she could fight them off. Furthermore, it said something when the single most worry free bitch Mao had ever met was, well, worried.
Once they had gotten onto the rooftop, Mao did take a few pants of breath. "I can, but...I don't know if there's more than one. I'm going to assume Xen has this part locked down, but...I'm gonna go see if we didn't get followed. And as to what you do with that...I actually don't know, but figure it out fast? Please?"
Of course, Mao had taken a little too long with speaking. A small sphere that looked to be made of razor sharp wire (somehow) had been tossed up onto the rooftop, and aimed at the center of the pair. Mao herself saw it! "Scatter!" She cried, ducking away!
The sphere itself would explode into tiny spiders easily identifiable by those with a brain as Dokugumon. That immediately went to try crawling on Xen and Akari. Better not let them near you!
As for Mao? She...uh. She just scrambled down the ladder. The sound of someone Spirit Evolving could be heard, and soon enough? A gunshot. The hell was going on down there?
An unseen assailant attacks!
Spawn Bomber: An explosive technique involving throwing a bomb made of the razor webbing. Once it hits anything, it explodes into a wave of little Dokugumon who hunger for the flesh of their foes. They’ll pursue them for two turns (and disappear afterwards)! And try to crawl allover them and bite them! Two target maximum, three turn cooldown.

[attr="class","xenica"]" I dunno. Summon your Digimon, or something. I wasn't told how it works." Maybe handing off that device wasn't going to help after all. Oh well, there was no real time to dwell on it. As the three made it to the roof, Mao began to go on about there being more than one possible enemy, which very well could be true. The scrawny teenager really began to wonder why the old man freed these prisoners in the first place. They deserved to just sit and rot, like the garbage they are. From out of nowhere, a matte of webbing was flung, landing only a few feet away from the trio. From the mess quickly emerged three tiny spiders, known as Dokugumon in Digimon terms. These little creatures were lower than Rookie level, but they still packed a nasty little bite. Xenuca did not initially bother to dodge the initial explosion, some of the razor sharp material cutting her torso, cheek, and right leg, ripping away at her skin. The blue-haired ganger only flinched, despite all of the wounds she had just received. " Come on out, let me see your face before I beat it into the concrete!" She shouted out after taking damage, hoping to draw her enemy out. Defeating this crook would be easy, but they wouldn't be able to do it with just brute strength. This particular little spider was a tricky opponent, and it would be just as easy to get tangled into her web of special abilities. " Find something to smash these spiders, Akari! And whatever you do, don't freak out!" Normally, she would be totally against this, but these things weren't really alive. Mao at this point left to attend to another attacker, which meant that this battle was going to be slightly more difficult - especially since one of them was unable to use a Digimon or Spirit at this point. Xenica kicked one of the tiny arachnids with her boot, which didn't really damage it much, but did knock it back a few dozen feet. With the others approaching and more tricks likely on the way, she wanted to waste no more time. The teenager kneeled and crossed her arms in an x-formation, her body then glowing with a dim red light. In an instant, her body became encased in a thick silk material, much different from the webbing produced by the eight-legged enemy. Now, unable to move or communicate, it was up to Akari to bide enough time to pull this evolution off. ✗ Evolution Cocoon: 1 post(s) When this Digimon first digivolves, it wraps itself in a fine silk, which hardens to a strength stronger than solid rock. During this cocooned state, this Digimon may not attack, move, or use any active or passive abilities (besides for this one) for as long as it is in this state. During this time, this Digimon gains a +100% boost to its physical defense. The cocoon can either be broken out of on command, or destroyed after taking enough damage. *While the cocoon is incredibly hard, similar to solid rock, and most attacks from Digimon a level or more lower than it won't have much effect, it is still made from organic silk. Three heavy-hitting attacks from a Digimon of the cocoon's level or higher will break it apart. Additionally, it is incredibly vulnerable to fire-based attacks. Shit… Was Xen right? There was a Digimon loaded on here? Then where the hell were they at a time like this? None of this was helped by the fact that four-eyes was being separated from her and Xen… just in time for an ominous globule of webbing that caught her eye come into vision.
Akari didn’t have arachnophobia, but she damn well felt like she did when saw the web mass explosively burst into a swarm of giant spiders that began to do what she would have expected giant mutant spiders do… hunger for the flesh of whatever poor sap was nearby. While not caught in the blast like Xen, Akari was practically internally screaming inside as her heart began to race.
She managed to punt one of the infantile creatures away with her foot like a soccer ball as she backed off, trying to take Xen’s advice to try and find something to crush the creatures… but what the hell could she use that is up on a rooftop? Unfortunately, she was soon alone to fend for herself as Xen covered herself in a pristine silk cocoon…
Don’t panic? Yeah, fat load of shit…
As she was backed into a corner by the starving creatures, Akari practically saw her life flash before her eyes as one of the KoDokugumon leaped at her with a ravenous bloodthirst as she closed them… but the pain of the creature’s fangs didn’t come. By the time, she opened her eyes… a new sight greeted her.
In the last instance before the KoDokugumon attempted to chomp at Akari, a figure materialized in a veil of data from the Digivice she was handed… a petite, child-like creature that while resembled a human of a sort, they were decidedly off in said appearance. It was quick, but they had sent the leaping KoDokugumon flying with a kick so hard that the creature outright was killed and turned into junk data. Fluttering in the air with a pair of insectoid wings, the new Digimon opened their black-schlera’d eyes with a soulless stare… their gaze directed at the baby arachnids that still approached.
Raising their palm forward, paying no mind to the bewildered Akari behind them. ”Farfalla Tempest.” they spoke with a dull and autonomous tone as beautiful projections of butterflies appeared from thin air and swarmed around the fae… before soon being sent to attack and destroy several KoDokugumon that were still drawn to them.
Akari barely registered it, but her Digivice had a message written on its screen… mostly of a language she could not understand, but one phrase stood out to her.
Subject 006:Helvetica
Flitmon has materialized from Akari’s Digivice and intercepted an attack from one of the KoDokugumon. She has used Farfalla Tempest against some of the KoDokugumon.
Farfalla Tempesta: Flitmon summons a storm of butterflies to envelop and attack the foe, dealing multiple hits of weak damage to them.

Indeed, it appeared that the one person left that hadn't entered anything made of silk was Akari. The girl was (more or less) alone to face the KoDokugumon, who were more or less distracted and dealt with by the butterflies. The remainder of them went to swarm Xenica's cocoon.
A mere prelude to what was to come next, however. A hideous-looking dryder-esque Digimon (that had something strapped to her back, god knows what it was) leapt unto the roof, eyes wide and staring right at Akari and Helvetica. It said...nothing. Not a single word. Just let out a hiss that could make even the most seasoned fedora-tipping scion of the web cringe. The spider locked eyes with the cocoon, and decided something in that moment.
Things were going to burn tonight. These three were one of them. The spider skittered forth before it withdrew what was on it's back--a weapon of some kind. And one that...jettisoned flame. It jettisoned a ball of fire straight for the cocoon. It was almost like it was ignoring the rookie and the human.
Perhaps that may be it's undoing. GUN. : Arukenimon pulls out a goddamn flamethrower that looks like the ones some dutch billionaire shipped out a while ago. Despite the uncanniness of a spider woman carrying a flamethrower, it actually has some merit to it. It fires a ball of flame. Two turn cooldown.
Widow attempts to torch a cocoon.
