[attr="class","xenica"]Nothing but darkness and some muffled sounds coming from outside - that's all Xenica was able to sense in this form. It really was a hassle that she had to go through this process every time she wanted to Spirit Evolve. Nobody else had to do this. Then again, maybe it was simply a price to pay for obtaining such a powerful spirit. If this was pulled off right, then she would be far more powerful than the enemy upon emergence. Even just a couple minutes would do it. A small hole began to burn into the cocoon - causing the insect inside to slightly panic. Luckily, the burning stopped, as it seemed to come from a source that was weaker than what she was metamorphing into. Still, the result of the fire attack left the cocoon with a sizable hole in it. Around seven inches in diameter, it was more than enough to slip an attack into and take out the exposed insides. Hopefully Akari wouldn't fail now, as she still needed a minute or two before she could fully emerge. Doing so this early would be a disaster. ✗ Evolution Cocoon: 2 post(s) When this Digimon first digivolves, it wraps itself in a fine silk, which hardens to a strength stronger than solid rock. During this cocooned state, this Digimon may not attack, move, or use any active or passive abilities (besides for this one) for as long as it is in this state. During this time, this Digimon gains a +100% boost to its physical defense. The cocoon can either be broken out of on command, or destroyed after taking enough damage. *While the cocoon is incredibly hard, similar to solid rock, and most attacks from Digimon a level or more lower than it won't have much effect, it is still made from organic silk. Three heavy-hitting attacks from a Digimon of the cocoon's level or higher will break it apart. Additionally, it is incredibly vulnerable to fire-based attacks. The girl's eyes were wide open in shock... she glancing down at her Digivice in disbelief at the sudden appearance of the fairy Digimon. They were in there this whole time...? Unfortunately there wasn't time to dwell on this, as another figure soon arrived... a nightmarish, walking symbol of arachnophobia leapt onto the rooftops and gave Akari a manic and utterly terrifying look... enough to send shivers down her spine just with its mere presence. It didn't last long however as they turned to the cocoon that was once Xenica and...
Did that bitch have a gun?
As silly of a sight as that may appear, to her horror the weapon was pointed at the cocoon Xen was still in... releasing a burning-hot stream of fire that ate away at the walls of the cocoon.
Look, Akari was coldhearted in nature... but she couldn't bear to see a friend in danger like this. Xen and Mao were counting on her, and she had to do something! On one hand, was perhaps that Digimon that appeared to her aid an ally...? Only one way she could find out... "Please, stop her!" she deseperately called out to the fairy Digimon,
The Flitmon seemed to reflexively spring to action at Akari's words, glancing at the pyromaniac Arukenimon with a cold expression. Immediately the fae flew forward at the drider, the tip of her boot shining. "Girandola Torsione!" they called out... aiming a kick with all their might at their distracted foe. A significant power gap existed, but was it small enough for the Rookie to at least have an impact on the temptress?
Taking an oppurtunity to move forwards, Helvetica used Girandola Torsione on Arukenimon in a attempt to divert their attention.
Girandola Torsione: Flitmon flips and twists in the air to gain momentum before kicking the enemy with surprising force, capable of knocking foes back several feet. (Cooldown: 2 Turns)

This thing was already quite annoying. The Arukenimon glared down towards Helvetica as the Flitmon essentially kicked her. "Oh. You want to go first." The spider finally spoke as her attention was turned towards the little gremlin. Every ounce of it, unfortunately. So, she couldn't notice that hole in the cocoon.
The Arukenimon flexed her free wrist as a stinger erupted from it, in before she skittered towards Helvetica and attempted to skewer her with the stinger. IF this was successful, the rookie would feel as though she was ON FIRE. It legitimately felt awful to be hit by this, and the venom was even worse. If she failed, then that was that.
She still wasn't paying heed to Xenica's chrysalis, either way Arukenimon uses Toxic Love to empower her Venom Talon before she tries to stab Helvetica with it.
Toxic Love: Every two turns, Arukenimon is capable of applying a poisonous effect to her attacks that, atop of severely increasing the damage dealt by said attack, makes the opponent feel as though they’re on fire. And increases blood/data flow.
Venom Talon: Arukenimon leaps at an enemy in an attempt to skewer them with sharp, venomous claws.
Cooldowns: Spawn Bomber: 2/3

Bouncing off the Arukenimon, it seemed that their attention was drawn to them now. Yes, she did want to go first. Despite their silence, the Rookie-level fae nodded at the spider witch as they fluttered in the air to regain their balance. It was not a strong attack that kick, but she had done what her tamer told her to do.
Though fast in an effort to dash past their foe’s advances with a needle-sharp razor that formed from the arachnid’s wrist, they were not fast enough. One wrong movement trying to dance around the spider proved fatal as the armament stabbed straight through the fairy’s gut… shishkebab-ing the poor Rookie.
Poison flowed directly in the fledgling Rookie’s body instantly, tainting the skin around the bleeding wound a putrid violet. Though it was debatable if the Flitmon truly was alive right now with the stinger pierced through their body, the way they grit their teeth as the wound festered horrifically signified the great pain they were undergoing. Even facing death… They had a soul, and a will to live… or at least a will to fight back. Despite the massive wound, the fairy raised an arm as a storm of butterflies was sent forward at her attacker’s face.
Akari unfortunately was relegated to the sidelines, she cupping her mouth as the blood drained from her face. She didn’t know who this Digimon was… but her conscience panged seeing the poor thing fighting to the bitter end. She gazed at the cocoon Xenica was in, a desperate and pleading look on her face… silently wishing her friend to hurry. That fairy didn’t have much time left.
Flitmon has taken lethal amounts of damage from Venom Talon and had pierced straight through the attack. She manages to fire off a Farfalla Tempest at Arukenimon’s face despite the severity of her injury.
Farfalla Tempesta: Flitmon summons a storm of butterflies to envelop and attack the foe, dealing multiple hits of weak damage to them.

[attr="class","xenica"]There was no more time to wait around, after all, it probably wouldn't even take that time to waste this arachnid. Ignoring her chrysalis for even a moment was a grave mistake, those few seconds allowed it to pump just enough energy into her to give her sufficient power boost. And since she was the same level as the spider - it meant she would outclass its every move. A large blade came forth from the cocoon, soon followed by a second, both apparatuses soon ripping open the hardened silk like it was a form of butter. A four legged, two armed, mantis-like insect emerged, standing around twelve feet tall. It was a crimson red in color, accented with bright greens. This new ultimate-level creature wasted absolutely no time in assaulting the enemy, flickering her wings a few times, before quickly rushing at the Arukenimon, hoping to smash it with overwhelming force, aiming to smack it with a combination of the blunt side of her scythes and her hardened forehead. If successful, this would be all but over. ✗ Evolution Emergance: 3 post(s) - +20% boost Automatically activates after Evolution Cocoon has worn off. Depending on how much time the Digimon spent cocooned, it will either benefit from enhancements, or suffer from underdevelopment, for the remainder of the time spent in the stage this ability was used in. • 1 post: Physical attack and defense is lowered by 50%. • 2 posts: Physical attack and defense is raised by 10%. • 3 posts: Physical attack and defense is raised by 20%. • 4 posts: Physical attack and defense is raised by 30%. • 5 posts: Physical attack and defense is raised by 40%. • 6 posts: Physical attack and defense is raised by 50%. • 7 posts: Physical attack and defense is raised by 60%. ✗ Heavy Start: MegaSnimon slashes at a single target during a rushing tackle, knocking them to the ground and inflicting a massive amount of physical damage. Additionally, MegaSnimon then benefits from a +25% boost to her physical power for 3 posts. Heavy Start can only be used if it was the first active ability MegaSnimon used in the thread. That little gnat was pretty easy to dispose of, all things considered. She even tried to fire off a tempest as a last act of defiance. The butterflies almost harmlessly pinged off of Widow's face as she crept towards the Rookie. All that was on the murderous spider's mind was wasting these three twerps and getting on with her life. Teach these assholes to try disposing of her, right? The Arukenimon was about to go right ahead and finish Helvetica off, but luckily for the little Flitmon?
Widow's mistake caught up to her.
As in Xenica emerged from the Cocoon wanting some goddamn blood tonight, as the MegaSnimon slammed right into her. It was enough to knock the lady to the ground as the claw dug into her, and she let out a screech before she threw an arm out towards Xenica, the Arukenimon generating webbing from that arm and trying to ensnare Xenica with the razor-sharp, wirelike substance. It's natural application, of course, was to cut this bug down.
What a pickle this was. Despite being hit by the tempest, and surviving, Widow is stopped from killing Helvetica by Xenica's Heavy Start, being knocked down and trying to attack the MegaSnimon with:
Spider Thread: An ability that enables Arukenimon to spin web as she pleases. The most common application of this move involves trying to ensnare her opponent in this razor sharp webbing to CUT THEM INTO PIECES. Two turn cooldown.
Cooldowns: Spider Bomber: 3/3 Toxic Love: 1/2 Venom Talon: 1/1

To say the Flitmon was woefully outmatched by the Arukenimon was an understatement. Ragdolled helplessly to the ground, the fairy would have most certainly been immediately a goner had the Ultimate level landed one more blow on her... though even facing death, the Flitmon shot a defiant eye at the red arachnid as the sound of silk being torn apart could be heard.
She wasn't strong... but she did buy time.
Akari had originally thought Mao's Spirit form was ugly... but man, Xen was an utter monster now that she had burst out of that cocoon. Had the crimson mantis not been on their side, Akari would have been more than likely scared shitless at the bladed insect emerging from that cocoon...
With a breath moment of respite (at least for her and the dying Rookie), Akari ran up to the mortally wounded Flitmon and scooped them up... the venom-infused wound that Widow had inflicted rapidly eroding away the fairy's data. It didn't take a rocket scientist to recognize that the fairy was not going to survive... but damn it, she refused to believe that was the case! "C'mon... Don't die on me! I can't let you die on me!" the girl spoke in a panicked voice...
It was too late however...
The Flitmon gave one last weak stare at the girl before their form faded into data right in their arms... data that was tinted an unusual red.
The girl cursed herself... was she really this helpless? Helpless enough she couldn't even do anything to save even one life...?
Flitmon has subcumbed to their wounds and were deleted, their data now free.

[attr="class","xenica"]" It'll take a miracle to save you now!" The mantis screeched between her manibles, releasing quite the hideous androgynous sounding voice. The monsterous insect quickly pulled back one of her scythes, and then thrusted it forward, aiming right at the arachnid woman's forehead. Traitors were the worst kind of people, and they deserved to have their skulls cracked. " But there's no shooting star tonight." Xenica drove her other weapon into the spider's throat. Dodging both of these maneuvers would be incredibly difficult in the enemy spirit's current condition. Even so, if even one hit, it was all over with - as she secreted a clear toxin upon her blades before striking, one that would prevent her enemy from benefitting from any sort of healing effects for a few minutes. She was effectively locked down, and it really would take a miracle to live through this. Out of the corner of her shiny violet eye, Xenica noticed that her ally had already been reduced to dust from this monster's attacks. What kind of ultimate power was that fairy even supposed to be? It got wasted in an instant, and yet it was so highly regarded by Hakainushi before. Never mind that, there was no time for these kinds of thoughts. ✗ Evolution Emergance: 3 post(s) - +20% boost Automatically activates after Evolution Cocoon has worn off. What the hell was this scrawny little shit rambling about, shooting stars? Never mind that, the Arukenimon finally made a noise. It screeched bloody murder as it was torn into with bladed implements. One through the forehead, and another through the throat.
She was definitely dying tonight, there was no doubt about that. Unless...She spied with her poor eyes, a pile of dust. Loading a Digimon, while not very ethical, did heal some...Unfortunately, Widow was unaware of the toxin that Xenica had been employing. So, it wouldn't actually heal her, per se...
The Arukenimon reached out towards Helvetica's data, and it would pool at her hand. And she would absorb it, unaware of what's to come....
Widow accrues a significant amount of damage from Xenica's Twin Sickles. She tries to load Helvetica to keep herself alive...

To say that there wasn't grief and anger on Akari's face at the realization that already she wasted the life of what she could only assume was meant to be her partner was an understatement. This was just downright pathetic... here she was in the middle of a clash between literal monsters, and she could do nothing more to assist Xenica (or what she supposed was Xenica at this point).
At least Xenica was doing one hell of a number on that spider bitch... Akari winced just seeing the witch get carved up by the attack, but that monster just wouldn't die... The blonde's eyes widened as the Arukenimon began to draw in that red data that once was the Flitmon they killed, absorbing it. No, she didn't understand what that process was... but she knew it was bad.
The venom from Xenica's blades would prevent Widow from healing from the data... but that was if the spider had loaded normal data. That Flitmon's data though... it was anything but normal. At first, no ill side-effects... but it didn't take long for the data running through the Arukenimon's core for an itch that crawled under their skin to become apparent. That itch though soon intensified into a burning sensation, almost like heartburn... but it didn't peak there.
This feeling... It was like that of being eaten alive from the inside-out. If hell existed, this was what it must have felt like. It was even quite obvious at surface level... Something was literally devouring the Arukenimon's data, and it wasn't that poison.
Widow loading Flitmon's data has triggered The Angel Project, Widow becoming effectively a host for Flitmon's rebirth... their data being parasitized brutally, dealing severe damage each turn the data isn't ejected.
[PASSIVE] [RAM UPGRADE GIGA] The Angel Project - This Digimon is an anomaly even among Digimon; born by artificial means with the intent to supposedly be able to replace the very core of the Digital World. While these claims are dubious in nature, the very makeup of this Digimon's data is foreign and unlike the rest of their kin.
- The user is not identified as a Digimon by typical scanning tools or radars; merely as a cluster of undetectable data. Keenly-sensitive Digimon may be able to identify that their data is not like other Digimon, potentially being identifiably dangerous to try and absorb... which leads to the second aspect of this trait.
- Should the user be ever reduced to data from deletion, would-be predators will come to a nasty surprise. If a Digimon attempts to load this data, they will begin to rapidly take massive amounts of damage each turn for as long as they hold said data; their own life essence and data cannibalized in a chain reaction-esque sequence as the user more or less quickly reforms directly inside their body (promptly bursting out when released). The longer that said user's data remains parasitizing the host, the more health they will have when they are inevitably reborn. While there are no true limitations to this ability, it is solely reliant on the ignorance of others.

[attr="class","xenica"]The Arukenimon attempted to absorb the data of the fallem fairy, despite having her head all but cut off. This woman was tenacious, that was for sure, but she was weak. Her sneaky tactics weren't good enough for the future gang, she would have comprised more missions than she would have helped. At first, despite the poison, the spider began to heal itself. Unfortunately for it, that wouldn't last too long. Knowing this, MegaSnimon backed off from her prey, stepped off of her body and taking a few paces in reverse. The data her foe had eaten wasn't exactly nutritious- in fact, it was even more poisonous, in a way, than the toxins excreted from her scythe blades. Xenica's insectoid body began to crack apart like a cicada shedding its old skin, the dead pieces of skin disintergrating into dead data much like the cocoon from before. After this process, the blue-haired teen stood in the place of the mantis, indicating that Spirit Evolution took no toll on her human body. " Oh, just die already. We already been taking way too much time with this. We have shit to do, girl." Xenica said to the decaying arachnid, walking away from her barely living corpse and back to the fire escape. They needed to get back to the Digital World, and quick. The others were waiting. " You aight, Akari? Don't worry 'bout your new friend too much, trust me." The Flitmon provided sustenance. Healing. Good. At least, it was at first. It didn't take long at all before the Arukenimon descended into agony, clutching helplessly at her throat as she was very literally consumed from the inside by Helvetica's data. She was practically clawing at herself to try ending this, but it simply would not do.
Before long, the Arukenimon was, to put it lightly, no more. Whatever had been eating her from within had claimed a decisive victory. But, one question did remain. There were two people following the girls, were there not?
What happened to the other one? Perhaps they'd find out if they went down the fire escape once more.

Akari had not known what made up that deceased fairy, but to see Xenica devolve back to their human-shape so confidently caused pause in Akari… She was not it appeared to be the only one to have underestimated the Flitmon, for something began to happen to the Arukenimon as they started to writhe in agony. You know what it was like seeing? It was like seeing a bug die from bug spray, it twitching and writhing in its last throes of life.
But seeing something so human do the same was unnerving.
Like it or not, it was truly too late for the Arukenimon to stop what her own greed had sowed for her… The spider’s data being visibly devoured from the inside out. Those last shrieks of horror and pain soon faded out as soon, all that was left was the witch’s Digicore from their Digivolved state… it turning a crimson red before wireframes enveloped over it, retextured into the shape of what resembled a pink flower bud. A Yokomon specifically.
With that, the fight was over… at least their half of it.
”Th-the hell happened to her…?” Akari asked Xenica half-heartedly… clearly caught off guard by how the fight ended. That partner Digimon… it was killed back there, but something about it being absorbed went horribly wrong for their would-be attacker. Death at that point was a mercy it seemed, though all this did was open up questions. Soon enough though, Akari began to cautiously take a few steps forward to the flower bud… it seemingly asleep, albeit uncomfortably; she picking it up in her arms.
The girl’s touch was seemingly enough to rouse it awake, it staring at her not with the cold-dead eyes it had in its prior form… but the look of an innocent child, perhaps one who just had an nightmare. ”...? Where…? Who…?” the pink bud meekly asked, gazing at Akari apprehensively. ”... Are you… my tamer?”
… That was a loaded question. Akari merely shook her head, not quite knowing for sure yet. ”Maybe. Maybe not. I don’t know yet.” she softly spoke, turning to face Xenica as she walked back to them… ”Shit… Xen, are you alright? That bitch didn’t hurt ya too badly, did they?” she inquired, showing her concern for the Spirit Wielder. Sure this… plant perhaps did the final blow, but Xenica was clearly the one who did most of the work.
Hell, Mao wasn't too shabby either. Where did they go...? She didn't know if they could be considered friends, but she was still worried for four-eyes's safety.
