Job: Rosewood Town Job D - To the Next Level
Bero's 2nd job of February 2019
Now that Rosewood was starting to shape up more as a town, Many rookies were looking for little pep in their step to help along the town they were so proud of. One of many people that they’d go to for help were one of the many honorable Leomons one could find. But such a kind master could only help so much, could only motivate your desire positively. Sometimes, you needed a villain to rise up over and defeat. It looks like this Leomon had found just the villain to use for these kind of purposes. Even now, Bero sneered at him, and the Leomon looked back with irritated expression. The two hated each other, but Leomon had use for Bero, and Bero hadn’t the strength to go toe to toe with the champion.
“Alright everyone, we’re going to focus on helping you all achieve champion by giving you a goal of sorts. I have a… Friend of mine here which will be giving you a few reasons to keep yourself in shape and try to strengthen yourselves. Feel free to introduce yourself.” The Leomon was almost ready to punt Bero in between the lot of them, but he refrained from doing so, because it wouldn’t help Bero be very convincing. Not that he needed any help. Walking forward in a grand gesture, Bero spread his arms out wide and craned his chin high, looking down upon the collection of rookie digimon, slowly turning around in a mocking circle of sorts, wanting to finish his sentence with a particularly wry smile to Leomon.“Why the ever-living fragged sukamon would i care to introduce myself to this… Misfit group of weaklings who aren’t even sure how to develop themselves. No Brain, no talent, no place in the digital wo-”
Bero could not even finish his speech and give the lion man the wry smile he so deserved to see, before a Hawkmon reacted in anger, not wanting to hear his insults. The Hawkmon rushed forward and raised his claws, but they didn’t even descend before Bero’s cloak lit up in flames and one of the claws swatted aside the Hawkmon’s claw. The bird digimon was surprised and taken aback by the sudden flaming cape and brushing off of his attack. Bero turned to him and effortlessly jabbed his hand out towards hawkmon’s chest, bringing him in close. “I wasn’t done.” Bero sneered to him, the Hawkmon’s head forced down as Bero wasn’t quite as tall as him, but that didn’t make him any less scared of the blue flaming ball of destruction right before him.
“You weren’t done, b-but W-we’re done with your talking already!” A brave Snowagumon said, about ready to step up, but Bero wasn’t ready to let someone just walk close and think they could just attack him. With the bird held by the scruff, Bero turned to the SnowAgumon and tossed the bird digimon down infront of him as hard as he could, hawkmon rolling over the ground and wincing in pain. “Then prove it to me! I’m not seeing any anger, just Cowardice!”
Bero was shouting, heard far and wide, and causing various rookies to wince at the loudness of his tone as they were reminded what a bully was like. Bero’s cloak flamed ever harder, creating a veritable small inferno of blue fire just over his back, the SnowAgumon, a Renamon and a Cameramon all unleashed their attacks now, surrounding Bero in a flash of ice, leaves and shining light. Bero had anticipated retaliation, so he merely blocked each of the three projectiles with an orb of blue flame that surrounded him, and before it had even vanished, the Renamon found the BlackGabumon uncomfortably close to him, the lizard using one of his flaming claws to grab the Fox by his bracers and toss the fox towards the Cameramon, a soft yip and yell sound from the two, as they inevitably crashed into another just within a second. SnowAgumon had been taken aback by the sudden attack against her two allies, but didn’t want to give up. She walked closer only to be beaten back by another flaming claw given from Bero.
Leomon watched with what was close to a snarl shaped in his snout. It was fortunate Bero had some kind of no-killing policy, although he did not understand how someone could have such an honorable ideal with such a vicious, uncaring personality. Well, he couldn’t deny how effective this was shaping up to be, with various Rookies finding new resolve, to help each other or fight the bully placed before him. He wished the BlackGabumon had not aimed his insults so… clearly all the time, but it was what it was, and interfering wouldn’t help the rookies much.
As the brawl continued, Bero beat down a Goblimon by smacking the poor fellow’s own club so hard it hit his own face and left him ringing and reeling. Bero grinned with chaotic glee, scratches and marks of enemy attacks covering his body. None of them had been anything close to fatal, and he had still blocked many. He was in way over his head, fighting so many other rookies, but these Rookies weren’t so sure what to do with someone so vicious. A few of the more capable rookies had felt it not their place to try yet, wanting to give the younger and more flightier ones a chance to unleash their anger.
However, that wouldn’t last forever, as after beating back a Coronamon by overpowering the red fire with his own blue fire, and then kicking a sneaking Gazimon right in the chin, confirming who had been the superior bully, A lot of rookies stepped back as one did step forward. Full of confidence, a BlackSpadamon looked at the confident BlackGabumon. “Your taunts are naught but angered outcries. I’ll make you show your mettle in honorable combat.”
“Honorable? HONORABLE? Hah! You all hear that? This little kitty thinks he should keep to his honours and moraaals. Lemme tell you something. All that crap, all that helpful nature? That whole reason you look up to that sensei of yours? That’s what makes you slow. You’re going to digivolve last out of anyone here, and you’re going to be left in the dust by your own friends because you’re too busy helping them to help yourself. You’re going to be made use of and forgotten. That’s how digimon work.” Bero spoke, stepping closer and giving the black lion digimon the most vile little smile, expressing his point with broad gestures with his hands, his flaming claws remaining on his sides for now. The Lion digimon slowly increased the rate he breathed at, primal fury narrowing his pupils as he held his hand on his sword and stared at the blackgabumon which came closer.
Leomon had winced himself, those words had been aimed so deep that almost everyone had felt it. Everyone knew BlackSpadamon’s patience had been cut short, as the young boy yelled out and grabbed his sword, aiming directly for Bero in outrage. Before he could even swipe blue apparatus though, He found himself hit by four flaming claws in a mighty fourfold punch, knocked back and his feet skidding a short distance as he kept standing. “Finally! An opponent worth considering. Shame about your personality, i had hoped we might become champion at the same time and fought each other. But it looks like i’ll be a whole stage beyond that before you’re even ready to control your champion form.”
Blackspadamon yelled out and charged forward, ready to thrust his weapon right through Bero’s core! He was faster than the blackgabumon had expected, meaning the blackgabumon couldn’t block or dodge his attacks fully. The two traded blow for blow as Bero’s body and cape started collecting gashes, while BlackSpadamon’s coat got large, still hot swipe marks covering it. Blackspadamon quickly learned he couldn’t even try to raise his shield before Bero grabbed it and used it as leverage to toss him and chase him down with fiery claws, striking him right over his back. BlackSpadamon was quick to recover though, stumbling onto his feet and turning around, thrusting to Bero, piercing him right in the shoulder. Bero grinned with absolute adrenaline-surged madness. He stepped closer, embedding the sword a little more into his shoulder and smiled to the Spadamon as his cloak stopped burning. “Now that’s a good kitty. Us viruses, we fight and we’re fought. Kindness only leaves us dancing in the dust, Virus busters prepared to set us back to step 1. But i can see you’re more stubborn than that, so… Have fun running at the back of the race, You obsolete, uncompiled, single classed, basic, arithmetic function.”
Bero grabbed Blackspadamon’s hand and pushed it away, forcing the sword out of his shoulder, leaving a blue digitized hole, a stark contrast from Bero’s grey scales and black fur. Beaten and battered, the Gabumon just turned away and started leaving the circle. Leomon was seething, breathing deeply in raw fury as Bero had went straight for every problem BlackSpadamon could probably have, and maybe even created a few new mental issues for the poor fellow to overcome. BlackSpadamon was just confused now, and he was just as confused as every other rookie that had to fight Bero. Leomon watched Bero leave and prevented anyone from chasing after him.
Bero just found his way to some scrappy place where he could metaphorically lick his wounds and recover. He didn’t even remember his thought process he had at the time of walking, so battered. All he remembers is waking up with Leomon closeby. “You did not need to… be so convincing just to rile them up.”
“Rile them up? Oh you think i was trying to help them? Hah! Hope you don’t get an exception if i just tell you… i wanted the feeling to be mutual.”
