Whether or not they were "impressed," Alan and Levi no doubt were both very happy to see that Skadi was so determined to protect Kenny. "You hold onto that ambition, Skadi," said Levi, giving the Mallimon a light pat in lieu of a proper handshake, "and I have no doubt in my mind you'll become an astounding hero."
"Digimon generally come in seven different levels of power," explained Alan. "'Rookie' is the third of those seven, but Levi is able to take on a form one level higher than that, his 'Champion' form. But it would be counterproductive to just throw more terms into the conversation willy-nilly, so that topic will wait there for now."
He briefly let a look of discomfort show on his face when he was asked about how he got his digivice. "I don't really know the details myself, at least regarding the digivice. I had just met Levi and went back to my hotel room with him, and when I emptied my pockets afterward, I found it to be in there. I'm not sure when it got there. It was just... there. The circumstances surrounding my meeting Levi are a bit of a sore subject with me. We both did some stupid stuff, but that's all in the past."

Despite Skadi's status as a mere In-Training level, seemingly not capable of hurting a fly, her sheer determination and proclamation to protect her new-tamer-come-friend-come-potentially-new-roommate did manage to make both Alan and Levi happy, if not truly impressed. Levi came over to encourage her and assure her that she would end up as a true hero one day, while giving a pat on the head.
Skadi giggled as the Veemon's pat pushed her wool down onto her body, "H-hey, stop that! It tickles!" She chuckled. She wasn't lying. It honestly did tickle her, either due to the scales of the Veemon brushing against her, or how good the pat felt on her. Hard to tell. She managed to compose herself quickly and added, "Aw, thank you Levi." Leaping out of the bag entirely, she bounced over to Kenny's side with a sudden, surprising burst of energy from God-knows-where, "You hear that, Kenny?" Skadi squeaked joyfully, "Levi knows I'm gonna be a great hero someday!" Without warning, she suddenly up and rubbed her body against his side, causing him to jolt back and blush. Even Michael chuckled a little bit at what Skadi was doing to him.
Hey, even he had to admit it was kind of funny.
"Uh, Skadi? Ixnay on doing whatever you're doing in front of the house guests right now, comprende?" He remarked, pushing her away slightly. Easier said than done. She came back to his side to snuggle up more. He pushed her away again. She snuggled up again. It happened quite a few times before he finally gave up, blushing harder than before, and covering his face with his hands as Skadi rubbed against him much more affectionately.
Michael, however, still couldn't help but feel amused about what was going on. Even he felt his fears about Skadi evaporate thanks to her little playful side on full show. With a laugh, he slapped his son on the back, causing his son to look over to see his own dad, enjoying the little spectacle. "Seems that Skadi really loves you, huh son? Hah. I wouldn't blame her, you're a great kid, and I'm sure when you tell her what you've managed to achieve so far in your young life, she'll see you as her hero as well." He said. He then wrapped his son in a side hug.
Not. Helping. The blush still stayed, but he did manage a little smile.
He then turned over to Skadi, "Hey Skadi," He called out, grabbing her attention as she pulled away and looked up, "I have to admit, I've honestly taken quite a liking to you. You two seem to have gotten along well quite quickly. I... must admit I must have judged you a little prematurely. I'm sorry." He sighed a little, putting his hands onto his legs again, "As I said earlier, I'm just scared I might lose my son, and all that talk about Digimon just made me a little worried."
"That's OK!" Skadi squeaked, "Many people get a little scared when they first encounter Digimon." There wasn't a single hint of bitterness or malice in her voice.
Alan then explained a little about Digimon levels, the current highest he was willing to mention being Champion. "Yeah, I know about the 'Champion' level. Also heard that they could be pretty dangerous too, though." Kenny responded. "Just earlier today, Akari told me about them... and about this one who happened to nearly kill her, too. It's... kind of touchy for her, that's all I'll say about that."
Skadi didn't need the explanation, but she did feel like she needed to butt in again, "And when I become Champion, I'll be able to be a great hero, like a real Champion would! I wonder what my Champion level will be like?" She said, happily gazing off to nobody in particular. "Honestly, I can't wait myself! I bet I'll be big and strong, and mighty, and... ooooh, I can't wait!" She seemed a lot ecstatic about that, and who could blame her?
Kenny just pet her in the head in response, causing her to calm, "Now, Skadi, let's not jump to conclusions just yet. You haven't even reached your Rookie form yet." He wasn't going to be lying to himself, Skadi's too-high ambition did put a bit of a smile on his face. "Like Akari said, we'll get in touch with her as soon as you digivolve to Rookie."
This only prompted Skadi to slump into her seat. "...sorry."
As for the Digivice, Alan told him that the Digivice he got was just out of nowhere, and that his relationship with Levi was a bit of a shaky start. "Huh, that's weird." He pondered, putting a finger on his chin, "Akari told me she got her Digivice the second she got her Digimon from a friend. I'm surprise Skadi didn't come in with a Digivice hand wrapped and ready to go..." He chuckled at his little joke.
"Kenny..." Skadi reminded him.
He suddenly remembered. "Oh, right, sorry." He chuckled again.

The two partners would politely watch as the heartwarming shenanigans went on. Needless to say, they were delighted to hear that their talk was having a positive effect on how Michael viewed Skadi. "I'm glad we've been able to help explain a few things so far. Now, unless you have anything else specific you want to know, perhaps we may talk more at leisure!" He would lean down towards the small ball of fluff. "Skadi, are you aware of the existence of digimentals? Once you reach rookie level, perhaps the next step would be to head on into the digital world in search of one, to gain a special stronger form to hold you over until you reach Champion level."
The small Veemon chimed in. "Alan and I would be delighted to accompany you if you decide to visit the digital world at some point! We're practically denizens of it by now! Even if there is quite a lot of it we've yet to explore ourselves."

OOC: Holy shit, it's been a while now. Time has been quite the mixed bag for Kenny and Skadi, and we'd be here all day if I explained it all. That reminds me, even though I'm already doing a whole 'Kenny and Skadi go to the Digital World for the first time together' thread, thanks to several circumstances (ask me on Discord about why), we ought do a thread where Alan and Kenny meet again in the Digital World That being said, onto the actual post.
Michael had started to feel a bit more accepting of Skadi, and her genuine care about her. And even though Skadi was starting to show her more affectionate - and embarrassing - side to Kenny. he himself started to feel really attached to her. Alan and Levi seemed quite satisfied too, and frankly, it was a good sign for both parties all around. Alan then leaned down to Skadi and asked her about the Digimentals, and about how one could find it in the Digital World, with Levi chiming in about how they could escort them.
"Yeah, I know what a Digimental is!" She nodded (which was kind of hard to do when your head was the same as your body). "And I'll make sure to keep you guys in mind when I digivolve to Rookie for the first time." The two men, however, felt a bit lost on that.
Kenny slowly raised his hand. It was a bit of a habit for him. "Wait, slow down. What's a Digimental, anyways?"
Skadi chuckled a little bit at her partner's confused expression, "A Digimental is a special artefact in the Digital World that represents a certain trait, positive or negative, like Courage, Friendship, Hope, and so on. With this, a Digimon can assume a special new form based on that trait and their powers as well. They may be weaker than our proper forms, but it gets the job done." She looked a little confident as she said it, as if she would be able to wield it to her advantage.
Michael, however, felt his worries start anew. He already lost his wife a long time ago, and letting his son loose in a whole new world with what seemed to be a complete stranger they barely knew at this point, and a whole world of monsters, no less, with no way to tell whenever his son would die or not. He just looked a little tense and sighed forlornly, "I don't know, Kenny." He muttered, "I don't want you to die, especially at your young age. And no offence, Alan," He turned to him, "But we just met. I'm not sure if you'll really be capable of looking after my son. I just need some time to think about it."
Kenny just looked at his own dad sadly, but said nothing. He trusted his dad, but lord knew he was seeking full independence. He had a tight knit relationship with him, but he felt he could be a little overbearing at times. He appreciated his dad's attempts to help him learn important basic home EC skills to take care of himself, but how would Alan help try to encourage him to allow him to check out the Digital World? Skadi opted to say nothing. She knew, both literally and metaphorically, she had no leg to stand on.
