Job: Rosewood Construction Job D - Protect Work Crews from Digimon Raiders
Bero's 3rd job of February 2019
On the outer side of Rosewood, construction efforts were still ongoing. Bero’s eyes slipped around the various rookies and in-trainings as they hauled together wood and plant to create more of their beautiful town. A motimon happily walked by Bero’s feet, as the blackgabumon sat on a log, looking over the construction area. It gave a cutesy smile to Bero, which was only responded with an intense, infuriated stare. The Motimon didn’t stick around long, running away to continue to help and work with other digimon right after that happened. Bero huffed, he wasn’t even her on his own volition.
Besides his side there was a BlackSpadamon, who was pissed off as all hell. “I’d rather spend time in a death labyrinth than sitting next to you, holding watch for wild digimon.” Bero grunted, watching over the construction site and determining there were no problems as of now. With a deep sigh, Bero spoke up himself. “Oh, trust me. The feeling’s mutual. We’re getting paid though, and i gotta tough through your whiny data readouts to not get my ass beat.”
Bero was seething on the inside, but he could control it. No need to villainize the Guardomon who set this up. Especially after he had already almost made enemies with that Leomon. Which is why this BlackSpadamon hated him. Turns out, there was little in the way of kinship between digimon of the same colour right here. These two were just inches away from mauling each other on the spot, and it was a miracle they both had sat here as long as they did.
“Nothing yet?” Bero asked, ready to try and spit in the BlackSpadamon’s ear. The BlackSpadamon growled back, baring its teeth and radiating hostile intent despite the complete lack of direct eye contact between the two. Bero observed the new buildings being made and his ‘partner’ observed the Forest. “No.”
And there they sat. In insufferable silence as jack squat happened. Although they both hated the other fervently, admittedly, their anger had already reached its peak when they saw each other. Sitting next to each other, facing the other direction, didn’t really wear down their patience more beyond the point it was already worn down. It took time and sharp ears and eyes to make sure they were protecting the various builders here.
“Wait… i hear somethi-” halfway through that, the rustling of leaves had gotten loud enough that Bero heard it as well. The two black rookies were on their feat, facing the jungle in a split second and as a vine slung out from between the leaves, they both cried out! “Alarm, Alarm!” yelled the Spadamon, while Bero had very different thoughts. “Finally! Some fun!”
It was but a single move, But Bero had dashed away from the log they were sitting on, his cloak lighting aflame as he dodged under the lashing vine with a natural ease. A wicked grin covered his face, paired with a deep scowl on the BlackSpadamon’s. The black fur rustled in the sudden movement of Bero rushing past his side, and more ferocious plant digimon made their way from the thicket of the jungle. “Your data never did well against mine! Let’s see the incompatibility light your world fubar!” Bero Cackled as the vegimon’s vine lashed over his side, stinging against his scales and ruffling, cutting, damaging the very fur that his coat was made of.
The vegimon’s vine snapped back at the feel of the blue Fire though, and bero grinned as he pointed both his hands sideways, a conflagration of the ground around the two happening as around the eager rookie and the furious plant, a veritable arena of fire formed, the blue flames reaching high and roiling with a furious crackle! Vegimon jumped closer to try and tackle Bero down with it’s body, but Bero had anticipated such a simple move. With a dash forward, Vegimon found itself facing straight against the fiery wall, furious flame infront of him and Livid lizard behind him. Bero pushed Vegimon’s front into the fire, burning it’s face relentlessly, the fire off his own cape also shifting and sliding to surround the Vegimon as capably as possible.
Vegimon, however, was simply stronger than Bero was, and no level of technique would have Bero winning this so easily. Despite being straight in the fire, Vegimon had no issue suddenly reversing its weight and tackling Bero back to the center of his own arena of flame. Before Bero could even get up, The Vegimon latched onto one of his feet, and he found himself flying through his own barrier of flame. The blue fire shaped around Bero to prevent harming him, before the blackgabumon landed next to the log where he had been sitting earlier.
Bero wasn’t about to let things get easy for the Vegimon though, his finger already pointed into the sky and fire gathering in his cloak claw and pointing to the Arena. To his dismay, the vegimon remained inside, as the walls of the Arena subsided. Nonetheless, he aimed his finger, both his hand and his coat’s claw pointing towards the Vegimon. A roiling blue flame left his claw to home in on the Vegimon, to give it some more fire to work with before it tried to defeat Bero.
Before that even made contact though, A third party intervened. A Raidramon came running in and knocked the Vegimon back into the jungle with a powerful attack. Bero reacted quickly, closing his hand, the entirety of his projectile dissipating in an instant. The raidramon turned towards the Blackgabumon with a gleeful smile. “Well done! You’re a tru-wait where are you going.”
The Raidramon watched as Bero had nonchalantly stopped caring and started walking away. He was informed that if alarm was sounded and a fight had broken out, he had done his duty for then and could take a break. And if the break was him avoiding people he didn’t really want anyone talking to him, he’d take that. The Raidramon couldn’t help but blink in clear confusion. He had wanted to tell how his partner had honorably sounded the alarm and gotten help for Bero, who had heroically rushed into battle to protect the construction efforts! That -was- the story, right? Raidramon had every reason to believe that this was simply what had happened. BlackSpadamon simply walked up to him and cursed to himself. He had hoped that Raidramon would mistake Bero for the villain and attack him instead. No such luck today.
