Doing MPC 60B for this - would like posts, please!
My name is Laertes, and I am a Strabimon.
I live in one of the more remote places in the Northern Prominence - namely, the Terabyte Mountains. I live a good way's off the beaten path that most travelers go on - only the most foolhardy, or most prepared, come out this deep into the mountain range. Thus, we rarely - if ever - get any visitors or passerby's, leaving it to wild digimon such as myself and my family, whom maintain their own territories in the area. It's actually quite quiet out here, aside from the occasional territorial disputes and periodic snowstorms; though the former rarely ever reached us. Sometimes though, you can get a treat in the rare moments that the clouds clear out - be it auroras, beautiful sunrises, or clear starry night skies.
My family in question is a small but happy enough one - my father is a Panjyamon named Callus, my mother a Blizzarmon named Gertrude, and I also have my two sisters - a Gomamon-X and a Spadamon - named Cassandra and Ophelia respectively. Save for Ophelia - who had left on her own some time ago - we all live together in a comfy den, with a sizeable territory that few other local wild digimon challenge - lest they deal with my mother's wrath. I can only recall ever having seen it happen once, though when it did, my mother was more than happy to give them a taste of her twin axes. There is the possibility of it having happened before when me and my sisters were still fresh stage digimon, though I imagine we'd have been too young to remember if that was the case.
In any case, though - Overall, our family got along very well, even if our mother is a bit distant. Our father is a bit of an imposing figure - as any Panjyamon may be - but he's honestly more of a gentle giant, than anything. He can be a strict teacher, but is very encouraging and patient otherwise - and is more than happy to spend time with me and Cassandra during downtime, when we aren't training and he isn't on patrol. He's jolly and happy during downtime, and is often cracking jokes - though he tends to otherwise be pretty calm. I don't know much of what his past before was like, though I do know that he came from more civilized parts of the Digital World.
Our mother, on the other hand, was wild-grown and wild-raised - having never come down from the mountains besides when the pickings were thin during particularly rough seasons. As a result, she tends to be a bit more emotionally distant to us compared to our father - she cares, she cares about us a lot - but I think she has a hard time expressing it in any proper way. Her love is sort of... Tough love, if I had to put it simply. She cares about us, and so she pushes us as hard as she reasonably can to make sure that we'll be able to survive in the harsh conditions of the mountains - even if it's quiet out here, it can still be very dangerous. She, in particular, was who trained Ophelia, while we tended to train with our father - and the difference showed pretty quickly, I think.
Ophelia is, how can I say... Well, she definitely takes after the wild side of our mom, while also taking after our dad's more positive and jolly nature - I'd call her half-wild, even, if that was such a thing. Even if we were all born at roughly the same time, she tended to be more of a 'big sis' to us more than anything while she was still around, seeing as she was the first to reach Rookie out of the three of us, and helped look after us until me and Cassandra reached Rookie as well. She was probably the most go-getter and encouraging of the three of us though, and I could remember all the times she'd stick by our side while mom and dad were out hunting or patrolling, or while there was a blizzard blowing outside.
She left some time ago, though, to see the world beyond the mountains. Honestly, I think everyone here sort of saw it coming - she'd oftentimes spend evenings staring out to the distant locales that we can see from up here, always asking dad about what things were like out there... But she valued us just as much as her wanderlust - and had wanted to make sure that me and Cassandra would be able to look after ourselves before she left. I hope she's doing alright, out there - the world beyond sort of seems big and scary to me, if I'll be honest, but if anyone could handle it, it'd be her.
Speaking of Cassandra - whom we often call Cass or Cassie for short - though... As before, she's a Gomamon-X - which one would think is a strange form for navigating the mountains; though her flippers actually work well as snowshoes, from what me and Mom and Dad have noticed. While we're trudging thru the snow, she's oftentimes waddling her way atop it no problems! I'm a little jealous, I admit, though her flippers also make her slower in most any other condition unless she pushes herself. All that aside, she's perhaps one to rival Ophelia in jolliness and energy - though I've noticed that she's not usually quite as keen on fighting as me or Ophelia are.
Despite this, Cass is perhaps the strongest out of the three of us; but doesn't seem to know her own strength! It's not too uncommon for her to knock either of us over during play, or even just for her to get a little too overenthusiastic and do so when she gets excited! Even then though, she means well, and is actually oftentimes the one to help patch us up after sparring. Oooor after Cassie knocks me over in rocky conditions. Even if she sometimes doesn't know how to control her own strength, she does adore us all in the end, and we adore her right back.
And as for myself... I'd say I'm probably the calmest of the three? I certainly get into my own antics with my two sisters, though I'm usually pretty content relaxing after a long day, or after practicing with dad. I'm not as interested in fighting as Ophelia is, but I kind of like the mind games aspect of trying to be one step ahead of others around you - of trying to figure out what another digimon's strategy is and how to work around it. I like gazing out at the sky in the rare moments the clouds are clear, and I also like to explore the area around our den sometimes - though I am not as big on the cold as everyone else is.
Still... I can't really see myself leaving the Northern Prominence, if not the mountains. This is home to me - and... the idea of wandering far from home makes me feel uncertain sometimes. Maybe it's partially because I'm still young, but... I want to stay by my family's side, until I feel ready - and I think Cassie feels the same way, even if she admits to missing Ophelia on a regular occasion.
In any case, though... A normal day for us generally involves our dad and mom taking turns hunting, patrolling, and training with the both of us. Dad is usually the first one up, and me the second - whereas Mom and Cassie get up at around the same time. Cassie likes to join Mom on hunts and patrols, though prefers training with Dad, while I prefer hanging with Dad for hunts and training. During downtime between mealtimes and hunting and training, we usually like to hang around the den - though Mom oftentimes spends the time patrolling otherwise. And when she returns by nightfall, we all snuggle up together in the den to sleep - in preparation for the next day.
Maybe it's monotonous - Cassie certainly thinks so, and Ophelia thought so too - but I like the general stability of it all. It gives me something to expect. Nothing throws me off more than something coming out of left field - and while I can adapt, I do best when I know what to expect, or otherwise can learn what to expect in the context of things like fighting other digimon. It's something that Mom says is a bad habit, but I think it's just who I am as a digimon - even if I probably could become more acclimated to surprises and so on.
Overall though, things are happy here. We're a simple family, with a den and territory up in the mountains that we call home. Maybe when I get older, when I start getting towards my Champion form, I'll look to exploring the Prominence proper, but... I'm content in keeping to what's comfortable and stable for me, for now, with Mother, Father, and Cassie...
