With the lack of voiced irritation, Bero would genuinely not even notice the irritation on Justice’s part. They indeed found themself at a fancy high-rise which was obviously prettied up recently. It’s building number was even #666 at that. Bero lifted an eyebrow at it. Although he especially looked at Justice with confusion. “What does that number have to do with anything?”
It wasn’t even his confusion as a digimon. Human influences about the number 666 had already had some reach in the digital world, so he knew it meant something bad. It was the general fact that Bero had no idea what he was up against besides the burger truck! He just wanted to deal with the burger truck, with not enough care in the world for who was behind this whole operation. Although he was starting to understand a little better now.
Bero had his eyes on the prize, but wasn’t recklessly charging to it. The red and blue bouncer digimon especially distracted him. He didn’t need extra obstructions, especially with his added weaknesses. The human let out his partners, and observed the same scenery that Bero did. Justice came to the same conclusion, but asked Bero for his opinion.
“More than alright with that. I ain’t dying over some dumb revenge. Let’s just not be stupid and let them garner a crowd before attacking them. The moment they’re far enough, we hit them. before they get attention and before they can unleash a burpmon on us. I don’t want to deal with the fragged garbage of a group of mindless addicts, nor burpmon anytime in my life.” He said, a certain venom in his tone. He wasn’t happy with the fact that this truck belonged to a bigger whole, but his taste for vengeance was still strong. “We should be ready to chase them right as they leave.”
He should be able to come off of this unnoticed and with no-one knowing who was there, besides Justice. That should be fine.

For once, Bero and Justice were on the same page about something. They decided it would be best to wait for the Beelzeburger Truck to get moving again. Frankly, they'd made the right decision. There were far too many witnesses, whether the ogres currently staring the truck down to the various Digimon who were stopping to pick up a snack before entering the party. The usual ravening hordes of burger-craving Digimon didn't seem to be gathering en masse, but considering the party behind them it wasn't much surprise.
The comparative quiet meant it was easier to overhear the Shortmon driver, who was currently looking at his watch while waiting for his compatriots. "You punks gonna move it or what? We got product to move, pronto," he grumbled. He stopped to take a long, slow drag of a candle that he had stuck in his mouth, blowing frosting-scented smoke into the wind. "Keep on dragging ass, and you're on basement duty." The Burgermon and Shortmon that were loaded boxes promptly started to hustle, working double-time to stack the truck.
They then started rolling out the captured Burpmon out of the truck, the Digimon bouncing, giggling, and drooling as it was brought down to the basement. The partygoers didn't seem to pay it any mind, as if they couldn't even see it. Perhaps they were distracted by the delicious smells wafting from the truck, or the overwhelming lights and sounds coming from the High-Rise itself. Who had time to notice the pink blob hurtling down the shady back alley?
Once Shortmon's crew had returned, he rolled up the tinted windows and prepared to speed off. Once more, he was driving like a maniac, soon to disappear in a cloud of smoke and screeching tires. However, this time Justice and Bero would be on the ball. Their vehicles would be more than capable of catching up, and they had all the chance in the world to pursue.
All that remained to be seen was how they'd make their approach.

Hearing Bero's response made Justice smile. For once, the two were on the same page. For a second, he thought the Black Gabumon was gonna flip him off and go about attacking the truck, forcing him to restrain him again due to not wanting to be caught by those guards in the front. In addition to that, there were too many people in the front that could potentially call the authorities if they decided to attack here. The Digital World may be different from the Human World in every aspect, but it looks like laws here were still the same, so he didn't want to make a negative name for himself. Reaching a unanimous decision, the group were just about to get back on the hoverbike until they saw the Burgermon minions guiding the captured Burpmon into the building's basement. Were they storing them down there? For what? Seeing that the Shortmon's lackeys were all set and ready to go, Justice, Vee, and Gummy all took off to the hoverbike, the engine still purring. They'll come back later to the sky-rise later once they gathered enough information from the Shortmon. Vee and Gummy decided to latch on to Justice's back for the ride since time was of the essence. After Bero got on, the group was off, following the food truck as it drove widely down the streets. "Seriously, how the hell did that driver get their license?" He questioned, dodging the cloud of smoke the truck was producing. After gaining a bit of distance from Terminus High-Rise #666, far enough that they wouldn't gain any unwanted attention, the time has come to make their move. Justice flipped a switch and activated his Nitro Boost, speeding up until they were a few feet behind them. To them, he may seem like another speeder trying to get in front of them, which is what he wanted them to think...until the opposite hit them like a freight train. Justice's D-Watch began to glow orange, as well as the bracelet on Vee's wrist. "Alright Vee, let's make this truck come to a screeching halt.""Yeah!" Vee shouted. He got on Justice's shoulder's and jumped up to the air, Digital code starting to swarm all around him in a vibrant light. "Veemon, digivolve to... XVmon!"
Using his wings to fly upward, the freshly evolved Vee lowered himself to the rear of the truck gently so the driver wouldn't notice them. Once he was in range, he extended his arms forward, grabbed the truck from the bottom, and slowly lifted it into the air. A feat like this would have been impossible for him if he was still in his rookie state, but in Champion? This was nothing. Once it was sure XV got a hold of the truck, Justice pulled the brake, making the hoverbike come to a stop. Looks like they secured the truck for the most part.

Justice had this… satisfied grin of sorts on his face as the two agreed with one another. Bero couldn’t stand it, Sure they had agreed on something, but it was purely out of tactical knowhow and not wanting to kill themselves like idiots. Something that surprised him in the human, considering he was in the digital world, where he was effectively powerless. Bero waited in patience Until it was time to make a move. Bero watched the swarming digital code overtake and empower the veemon, enabling his digivolution into XVmon! XVmon made his attempt to stop the truck and lift it into the air. Bero’s eyes glowered with fury, as his own data started accumulating around him, having a much darker black tone to it. The black data overtook his body with black fire, making him larger, about the size of a human. His rainbow mask shined. For a split second, his black and blue fires rages outward, but then chains of rainbow leapt from his mask and covered his body, chaining down the fires and weakening them. The chains vanished instantly afterward, but the fires remained weakened. The Champion may have been smaller than the XVmon, but he had viciousness and strength to compensate. Bero’s helmet shone brilliantly as he rushed towards the XVmon lifted truck and aimed for one of the wheels, hoping to yank it off and throw it to the side!

Some Digimon may have tried for a more stealthy approach for a mission like this. Some may have tried to harry the Beelzeburger Truck from afar instead. Still others may have made it a contest of sheer speed, drag racing through the streets of Terminus like their lives depended on it.
Rather than any of these methods, Justice and Bero decided that the fastest path between two points was a straight line. They took the fight right to the Beelzeburger Truck, speeding behind it before hoisting it right into the air. To their credit, such an audacious plan worked! The truck lurched as it was suddenly hefted into the air, tires screeching as it tried and failed to speed away. One of these tires began to shudder and shake as Bero grabbed onto it. The grinding of the tires would be quite painful for Bero's hands, but if he could maintain this hold it would be quite easy to peel a tire off.
Shotmon looked over at the commotion, rolling down the window and shouting angrily. "Hey! Hey, hey, hey! Hands off the merchandise, ya damn patty fiends! We ain't open!" he complained. He then turned to the side, pulling a Burgermon into his seat. "You there, take the wheel. Keep pressing on the gas til these jokers let go. I'll handle this." He then leaned out of the passenger side window, reaching into his vest and pulling out . . .
A gun!?
With his tommy gun in hand, Shortmon opened fire on Bero. Fortunately, bullets weren't coming out of the other end. Unfortunately, eggs were. The Shortmon grit his teeth around the candle he held in his mouth as he let more than a dozen eggs fly. Even the ones that missed and landed in the nearby vicinity of Bero would promptly start cooking from his residual body heat. It was a frustratingly appetizing smell, especially for projectiles that would actually hurt a decent bit if they made contact!
The back doors of the Beelzeburger Truck opened as well, bags of potatoes, stacks of patties, and bottles of Coca-Cola generic soda raining down on Justice, Bero, and their crew all the while. Included in this payload were two Digimon: another Shortmon and another Burgermon! The Shortmon immediately hopped onto the handlebars of the bike, drawing a cake-cutting knife and swinging it at ExVeemon with surprising precision. The Burgermon instead hung out in the back of the truck, pulling a bottle of ketchup out from under his hat and aiming to squirt it right into ExVeemon's eyes. Neither of these attacks were very strong, as both Digimon were a level beneath ExVeemon, but they would be very distracting!
All the while, the Beelzeburger Truck continued accelerating. However, unless ExVeemon's grip slipped from the onslaught, all it could do was spin its wheels.
Combat Log: ExVeemon and Bero successfully grab onto the Beelzeburger Truck! It spins its wheels helplessly, with Bero liable to peel off a wheel if his grip remains undaunted. Boss Shortmon pulls out a tommy gun and opens delicious, delicious fire on Bero. Time To Make The Donuts - Shortmon reaches into his suit and pulls out . . . a tommy gun!? The good news is that it fires eggs instead of bullets. The bad news is that it'll still put holes in you and your vehicle if you're not careful. Burgermon and Shortmon double team ExVeemon, one attempting to blind ExVeemon with ketchup and the other attempting to flat-out knife the dragon man. Cutlery from a Butlery - Shortmon leaps to the opponent's vehicle in an attempt to board it. From there, he draws a fork and knife to try and duel them with. Shortmon may not be the most potent melee combatant, but hell hath no fury like a short-order cook scorned! Not Gonna Ketchup To Us - Burgermon splatters ketchup and mustard all over the ground, making it far too slick to be properly driven upon. The thick, goopy liquid also hampers vision, if one is unfortunate enough to get it in their eyes.

Despite ExVee lifting the truck up successfully, the wheels on the truck were still turning, the inner workings of the vehicle making a high, rumbling sound since it was no longer on the ground. It seems like the Digimon inside weren’t gonna give up without a fight.
After Bero had digivolved and went for the wheels, the Shortmon started to open fire with...eggs? Fortunately the eggs started to immediately cook when it came to close contact with the fire Digimon.
Unfortunately, just as Justice made the bike come to a complete stop, the back doors of the burger truck suddenly opened, with food and drinks coming at their direction. Justice duck down while Gummy swatted any thing coming at them with his tail.
“Damn now they’re turning ingredients into projectiles? They’re really weird.” Gummy commented
The two were soon met by a second Shortmon, who jumped from the back of the truck to the handle bars of the hover bike. His target: ExVee, who was still lifting the truck. The cake Digimon used his knife and cut at the large blue dragon, who winced a bit in response.
“HEY! GET THE HELL OFF!” Justice shouted, pushing the Shortmon off his bike. He got off his bike and raised his fists. It didn’t matter that he was potentially about to throw hands with a Digimon; you throw a hit, you better be prepared to hit back.
Gummy on the other hand looked up and saw that one of the Burgermon were attempting to blind his brother with ketchup in the hopes of blinding him. He quickly jumped up to the hood and used his hammer tail in attempting to land a blow at the Digimon.
ExVee meanwhile, was starting to lose his grip from holding the truck for so long. It didn’t helped that one of the Digimon was slashing at him. Luckily Justice got him off his back, much to his surprise. He looked at Bero. With a grumpy tone, he called for him.
“Hey scorch brains, tear off the tires any day now!”
Gummy attacks the Burgermon with Rail-gum Break.
Ran-gum Break: Uses his Shippodzuchi and frails it in all directions when surrounded. One-post cooldown .

Bero’s body didn’t even seem to flinch as the spinning wheel scraped his claws and tore against his body. He ripped it off with furious energy, shouting out meanwhile. His voice sounded warped, darker and filled with mindless Fury. Nothing intelligible came out of him, either. Oddly, his hands were not damaged, rather, the fires of his entire body had flickered a bit. He didn’t do much to stop the barrage of shots, as there wasn’t much in the way of evading for him to do. Not only that, but even as he was pelted, his body continued rippling with rage. Every egg that hit him caused the black flames to fade and ripple for a second, sending out waves of slightly weakened black flames over his body. Even if one spot would be hit multiple times though, it wouldn’t receive any more damage. But the damage was certainly being received, Bero was just a professional giver of no care in the world. The darklizardmon stepped towards the underside of the truck. The way his body moved was somehow calculated and precise, like a professional weightlifter knowing just how to make the most out of every inch of power he had. But at the same time, this primal energy that couldn’t be reasoned with emanated from Bero’s form, which went to show that he wouldn’t care much for the instructions that the ExVeemon gave him. One could only wonder if Bero thought he was doing something more useful than removing the wheels. He positioned himself entirely under the truck and rammed it’s sharp claws with all the force it could into the underside of the truck. ”RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAHHHH” He twisted his body and turned himself to drag and topple the truck at the same time, trying with all his might and superior technique to throw the truck on it’s side! While he roared out and used all the power in his body to attempt to toss the truck on it’s side, the question of Bero possibly thinking he’s doing something better, warped into the question: Is Bero even thinking at all anymore? Bero holds onto the wheel with ease and rips it off. His Pyrobiology helps him, as it makes all the damage universal instead of aimed towards one body part. His whole body takes minor damage instead of his hands taking large damage. Bero lacks the sanity to really avoid any attacks from Time To Make The Donuts!, taking full damage from the attacks. Bero steps under the truck, impales it’s underside with his claws, and uses a sort of throwing motion to try to slam the truck onto it’s side! He uses 5 stacks of “Basics Mastery” to make this move equivalent to the power of a 1-turn cooldown attack. Additional stacks gained from passives: 0 Stacks of “Basics Mastery” = 0 Passives: Superior Technique[RAM upgrade GIGA] Combat Passive - Bero’s incredible technique lets him improvise his attacks and abilities, using his natural weapons and traits of his body’s code to great effectiveness. Bero starts each combat with 5 stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’ and every round he is in combat he gains 2 more stacks. He can hold a maximum of 15 stacks. Using 5 stacks allows him to empower one basic attack to deal damage equal to a named attack with a 1-turn cooldown. This attack counts as Bero’s named attack (or one of his named attacks, incase he’s 1 vs twins) for the post it is used. Other passives may give him more stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’ or methods to use it.
Holy limiter Combat Passive - Due to his “Helmet of Virtues”, if Bero would be subject to an attack or an effect due to any of his attributes, families or types, the most convenient is always selected. If Bero’s attacks would be subjected to a defensive effect due to any of his attributes, families or types, the most convenient is always selected. Attribute: Virus, Vaccine. Family: Nightmare Soldier, Virus Buster. Type: Evil Dragon, Angel.
However, Bero cannot use any fire control or fire abilities.
Anger Management Combat Passive - Bero’s own powerlessness at the hands of his holy limiter infuriates him. He can channel his anger into empowering his Superior Technique passive. Every turn he is in combat he gains 2 extra stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’. Outside of the usual way to expend it, he may also use 4 stacks to empower one basic attack to deal damage equal to a named attack with a 0-turn cooldown. He may use multiple of these in a turn, but may not combine them with other methods of attacking with Superior Technique. When fighting twins or otherwise allowed to make an extra named ability, he gains 2 extra stacks of “Basics Mastery” every turn. If he were to use a named active ability via any means (given by cards or plot conditions) he loses all stacks of ‘Basics Mastery’ and does not gain any stacks this post.
Enough Chains!! Combat Passive - Bero’s already infuriated enough his powers are limited! Chaining him down, restricting him, limiting his actions or pushing him away from combat by some obvious or recognizable means (forcefields, chains, pushing away with wind, etc.) has reduced effectiveness on him, allowing him to resist 50% of the effects of such abilities. Every time he is targeted by an attempted restriction, he gains 1 stack of ‘Basics Mastery’.
Pyrobiology Combat Passive - Bero’s Fiery body works somewhat differently than other bodies. Despite having an actual body of sorts underneath his flames, His body acts as one mass of flames. Because of this, it is not possible to strike any ‘weakspots’ that Bero has. Because of this, Bero is immune to wound-based status effects, like damaging a leg or wounding an arm to hold him back. Any damage dealt to him is dealt to him as a whole instead of any parts. Fire attacks will damage him as normal due to the different nature of his fire body, and hitting him with fire actually angers him, giving him 1 stack of ‘Basics Mastery’.
Black Phoenix Resurgence Combat Passive - When critically hurt but not outright defeated, Bero gains a heal over time that heals him for 15% of his health every turn for 3 turns. This effect cannot trigger until after this healing over time has ended. When it has ended, the power of this passive is reduced by a stage and it can trigger again. Each reduced stage of effectiveness decreases the power of the heal by half it’s previous stage. The reduced effect remains for the entirety of the thread. Every time the Heal over time is started from taking damage, Bero gains 1 stack of ‘Basics Mastery’. If he is defeated while the heal is active, the heal is canceled instantly.
Powerless Anger Combat Passive - When shown up in power, by either seeing stronger moves he cannot perform or people using moves via means like cards, Bero’s anger manifests in more power. Whenever anyone, Allies or Enemies, use a move with 2 posts or more cooldown, Bero gains 1 stack of Basics Mastery. Whenever anyone uses a move via a Card or Artifact, Bero gains 1 stack of basics Mastery. Active moves: Lol. What are those again?
Cooldowns: Lolololol.

The Shortmon didn't expect to be pushed by a human, and was caught right off guard by the attack. He tumbled to the floor, letting out a wheezing oof as he hit the ground. However, when Justice squared up, the Shortmon was all too quick to respond. He charged at Justice, then leaped at him in a blind fury. If Justice didn't move aside the Rookie would proceed to glom onto him, bashing him in the gut with the blunt handle of his knife over and over again. It wasn't nearly as lethal as a stabbing would've been, but it would've still hurt badly! And if Justice was too busy wheezing to drive or issue orders, it would've made continuing to drive a lot harder.
Burgermon had a much easier time with his own dodging. He crawled back into the back of the truck as Gummymon swung his hammer, the bottle of ketchup that he abandoned exploding on impact. Under the cover of the exploding bottle, he pulled a burger from under his hat. He then lobbed it at Gummymon with both hands, hoping to pelt him while the exploding bottle distracted him.
The Beelzeburger Crew seemed to have the actual battle under control, but Digimon fighting was only half of the equation. The other half of the equation, the structural integrity of their truck, was in a bad way. Bero had ripped the wheel off with extreme prejudice, then hurled it to its side with a tremendous heave. The truck hurtled through the air, the Burgermon at its wheel spinning it in a panic to try and get it righted in midair. Unfortunately, they hadn't succeeded. The truck fell right onto its side, one wheel down and currently flattened.
Swearing, the Shortmon boss ran out of the truck and popped open the hood. He poured a bag of sugar into the engine, muttering swears under his breath all the while. Slowly but surely, it started sparking to life, the Beelzemon head on the back of the truck shaking back and forth at dangerous speeds. The truck started to drag itself away, making a horrible metal scraping sound all the while. Sparks and paint spilled over the highway as the truck dragged itself away, the Shortmon boss hopping back onto the tilted vehicle. He fired a mocking salute towards Justice and Bero. "Hasta la vista, babies!" he said, laughing.
Maybe he'd have more reason to laugh if this truck was moving quickly. As is, even the speed boost left it going quite slow.
Combat Log: The first Shortmon is pushed by Justice, then jumps him to try and pound him with the blunt end of his knife. Burgermon dodged Gummy's hammer strike, then flings a . . . burger? Burger Time - Burgermon flings a large, messy looking hamburger at the opponent. It explodes into grease and ingredients upon landing, scattering in every conceivable direction. A slow attack, but capable of dealing surprising damage. The Shortmon boss jumpstarts his vehicle with a big bag of sugar. The sheer power begins dragging the truck forward, even though it is currently tipped over. Sugar Rush - Shortmon pours a massive bag of sugar into a pipe connected directly to the Beelzeburger Truck's engines. The Beelzeburger Truck moves three times as fast as previously, but becomes drastically harder to control. Amazingly enough, three times zero is not zero.

Seeing that the Shortmon was fully intent on fighting him, despite being only human, Justice only stood still as the cake-headed Digimon began to charge at him. His plan was to make his opponent go to a false sense of security, letting him think that he has the upper hand, then to take all that confidence and strike him back two times over. With no time to waste, Justice quickly swiped to a offensive counter-measure on his D-Watch. Pressing it, a baton of hardlight started to assemble from his D-Watch and into his hand.
The Shortmon then leaped at him, preparing to strike him in the stomach with the handle of the blade. Seeing this, Justice swung the hardlight baton upwards, attempting to stop the Digimon from striking him while sending him reeling as it hit him square in the face. He wasn't about to become a defenseless human, pleading for his Digimon to save him whenever something bad was about to come his way. If his counterattack was successful, Justice would strike at the Shortmon a few more times, making sure that the Digimon would think twice about attack his partner.
At the same time, Gummy's tail strike had missed the Burgermon as he dodged his way into the back of the truck. Before he could chase after him however, the bottle of ketchup he dropped suddenly exploded. Gummy covered his eyes to prevent any sauce from getting into his eyes.
"Tch! Cheap move!" he said under his breath. Wiping his eyes, he then heard rushing footsteps near him. Without a second to lost, Gummy preformed a front flip just as the Burgermon was about to strike him with a... burger? No matter. Enlarging his hammer tail, he dived towards the Burgermon, wanting to personally return the favor for that cheap move from earlier. "Jacked Hammer!"
Vee on the other hand was just about to lose his grip from holding the truck. But just in the nick of time, Bero would furiously rip the wheel off with such force that it forced him to let go as the truck started to hurtled through the air, sending the truck on it's side. Gummy had jumped out of the truck just in time if his attack on his opponent landed or not.
"Not too shabby, Bero." the ExVeemon complemented, not realizing that their partner was not sane at the moment. He couldn't deny it, even though the Dark Lizardmon only half his size, his strength was nothing to think twice about. Gummy however, was not too happy.
"Ya kidding me? He nearly turned me into a pancake!"
Unfortunately, the other Shortmon in the truck would then reinvigorate the truck's engine with...sugar?? Mechanic logic aside, this would somehow spring the truck back to life, flipping it back on it's three wheels. It sped off, making an awful scrapping noise as it tired to take off only with three wheels. The Shortmon boss mocking them would have rubbed salt in the wound...if it had went to light speed; the truck was only going about the speed of a motor scooter, not fast enough to ensure a getaway.
Seeing as how it was going so slow, Vee would begin to charge an attack, an orange light starting to radiate from the X-symbol on his chest. "EX Laser!" The symbol shone brightly, releasing an energy wave dead on at the truck. The best way with taking down moving vehicle is to make sure it stays down for good this time.
Combat Log:
Justice summons a digital baton and counterstrikes Shortmon's attack, then strikes at it numerous times afterward.
Gummy would be temporary stunned by the Burgermon's explosive ketchup bottle.
Sensing he was about to get attack, Gummy preforms a front flip as the Burgermon charges at him, then preforms Jacked Hammer at him in a counterattack. Jacked Hammer: Swings down his super-sized Shippodzuchi down on the enemy while jumping to introduce them to into the ground or performing a forward handspring to jump high when traversing. Two-post cooldown.
Rail-Gum Break has cooled down.
Vee attacks the Burger Truck with EX Laser, powerful enough to damage the truck severely. Ex-Laser: Chagres an intense laser beam in the shape of an X from its X patterned-chest and fires it towards the enemy. Strong enough to destroy large boulders. Two-post cooldown.

Despite Bero’s effort to get the truck tilted on its side, the battle continued on all kinds of areas. Not… that Bero paid attention to any of this. He had a kill mindset on the truck, and that kill mindset would prevail above all. He was unresponsive to what Vee had said to him, and growled in annoyance as the truck started getting away at decent speed. Gummy’s words he didn’t even hear. Luckily, as the truck continued to rush away, Bero found himself mostly un-bothered by enemy attacks. Given this freedom to do as he pleased, he did his best to keep up with the truck, but before he got close, Vee’s golden laser was launched at the truck to damage it. Following that Laser was a Darklizardmon sprinting at the highest speed he could manage, trying to jump on the truck to damage it more and rip another wheel off. He didn’t care if they were spinning and it’d hurt himself, there was just one thought on his mind. “RRRRROOOOAAAAHHH” bellowed from his mouth, making it evident what that one thought on his mind was. Not much, all things considered. He was storing his strength to really give the truck a beatdown though. That would follow soon, when the conditions were ideal. Bero runs after the truck to attack it. If he gets the chance, he will jump at the truck to rip out another wheel or stab his claws into one of the wheels on the ground, not caring about how much that’d normally hurt your claws. He only does basic attacks, using no stacks of “Basics Mastery”Additional stacks gained from passives: 2 Stacks of “Basics Mastery” = 6 Passives: Superior Technique[RAM upgrade GIGA] Combat Passive - Bero’s incredible technique lets him improvise his attacks and abilities, using his natural weapons and traits of his body’s code to great effectiveness.
Active moves: Nope.

Gummy struck the first counterblow with ease. While the Burgermon had evaded the Gumdramon's first attack, the hammer had hit him hard. The Burgermon was catapulted far into the back of the truck as soon as the burger left his hands: while it'd likely still impact Gummy right in the face, at least the Burgermon was going to be hurting seriously.
The Shortmon didn't expect to be attacked by a human. But he expected the human actually packing a weapon even less! When he lunge was interrupted by a baton upside the head, he fell to the ground in a helpless heap. Immediately the short-order cook's bravado vanished, and he scrambled away like some kind of wounded animal. Thankfully, with how slowly the Beelzeburger truck was, it wasn't too hard for him to catch up to the truck and climb back on. The Shortmon boss looked at him, rolling his eyes and shaking his head. "Don't just go scurrying off. Make yourself useful already," he huffed.
At his boss' goading, the Shortmon produced a tommy gun from under his jacket. He began blind-firing eggs, cringing away from the gun as he shot in all directions. Who knew how many of the surrounding targets he would end up hitting?
Unfortunately, his covering fire likely wouldn't enough to keep two champion-level Digimon at bay. That was doubly so considering the laser that ExVeemon had just fired. Both Shortmon prepared to brace for impact, but it never came. This was because the Burgermon who had previously been hit into the truck came rocketing out, taking the full blast of ExVeemon's attack. He flexed, hamburger buns swelling up around his body to source the force of the laser head-on. The good news was that it meant the X-Laser wouldn't crash into the Beelzeburger Truck. The bad news was that, once more, it left Burgermon blasted right into the back of the truck. This was not his day today, was it?
That left the truck wide open for Bero. Currently, the sugar in the truck's engine was keeping it ahead of Bero, especially as its driver smashed down on the gas pedal. However, the sugar would be burned through at an alarming rate if such expenditure continued. Already it was starting to sputter and waver, and even the Shortmon boss was looking a bit nervous. He fumbled in his suit jacket, muttering a few curses before flicking out a bag of pastry icing. He splurted it right at Bero's eyes, hoping that if the blinding didn't slow him down the cool freshness of it would.
If this trick didn't work, they'd be caught in no time.
Combat Log: Gummy smashes Burgermon far into the back of the truck, hitting him directly. There's no way he's fully intact after that one. Shortmon retreats hastily from Justice after taking a direct hit, climbing back onto the safety of the burger truck. He takes out his tommy gun and unleashes covering fire. Time To Make The Donuts - Shortmon reaches into his suit and pulls out . . . a tommy gun!? The good news is that it fires eggs instead of bullets. The bad news is that it'll still put holes in you and your vehicle if you're not careful. As ExVeemon fires his laser, Burgermon bursts out of the truck again to try and protect it. He takes the hit, but falls back into the truck from the force of the blow. After two hits like that, is he down for the count? Buns of Steel - Burgermon flexes, his muscles swelling up enormously! Oh, wait, those are just a protective suit of hamburger buns. They soak up the damage and knockback of a single attack, allowing Burgermon to play defense. Cooldown: Two Posts. The Shortmon boss keeps watch over the truck, splattering icing at Bero to try and prevent him from reaching the upturned vehicle. The Icing on the Cake - Shortmon splatters a pastry back with pin-point accuracy, aiming to splatter the eyes and windshields of any approaching. Vision is heavily obstructed for anyone hit with his move.

Ignoring the visual lightshow of X-beam attack hitting an enemy and sending back was no issue. Ignoring a spatter of icing that headed right towards his eyes was a whole other trick though! He couldn’t quite ignore it so easily, with his sight blinded, he couldn’t aim his anger at the truck at the slightest. He slowed down and maniacally tried to remove the sticky icing form his eyes to reclaim his vision. In pure fury, he hardly managed to wipe the icing off. He had lost some of his distance to the truck, but he wasn’t willing to give up on attacking it. He grabbed around to try and find something- Anything in range to pick up and throw towards the truck, in blind fury! Using every bit of his anger and technique in making it a proper throw, Bero’s sheer lividness made a deep-rooted desire to damage that truck, even if it was with just a pebble. If anything, he’d want nothing more to grab the truck and lift it as Exveemon once hand, and throw it overhead. Perhaps suplex it. But he wouldn’t try that. Yet. He needed to get close, all over again somehow. Throw things first, catch up, then punch it later. Bero tries to run after the truck, but is hindered by Shortmon’s Icing on the cake. Bero attempts to grab something at random. He expends 5 stacks of “Basics Mastery” to throw it with all his might, even if he really isn’t aiming all too perfectly... Stacks used = 5 Stacks gained normally = 4 Additional stacks gained from passives = 1 (Burgermon used a move with a 2-post cooldown.) New total Stacks of “Basics Mastery” = 6 Passives: Superior Technique[RAM upgrade GIGA] Combat Passive - Bero’s incredible technique lets him improvise his attacks and abilities, using his natural weapons and traits of his body’s code to great effectiveness.
The blindingly bright laser from ExVee twisted and turned as it flew, leaving a mix trail in its wake. However instead of striking the burger truck, one of the Burgermon that Gummy fought jumped in front of the blast, taking the full brunt of it as it send him tumbling back. Was this whole business worth losing an arm and a leg, or data for that matter? Certainly not. But regardless, at least he was not dead. Incredible pain, yes, but not dead.
"Ahh, seriously?!" Justice commented, getting back on his bike as soon as the Shortmon he had attack moments ago retreated. That attack was dead-on. They could have taken the whole truck out of commission if it wasn't for one of the minions. But on the bright side, the truck was going super slow now than it was before, but still fast enough to be ahead of Bero.
Speaking of Bero, Justice couldn't help but noticed that his reluctant ally was...not in the right state of mind. Every action he'd taken when he first digivolved were that of a wild animal; uncontrollable, no hint of logical thinking, and unresponsive. ExVee took notice of it to, and it was not looking too good since he was being attack. Using his wings, he quickly regrouped to where Justice and Gummy were at, fully concern at what was happening to their ally.
"He's being pelted by pastry items!" he said, "If I go in their for another attack, I might hurt him on accident."
Justice pursed his lips. "Well shit...it can't be helped then." He turned to Gummy. "Let's help him out, huh?"
"Me?!" Gummy began to protest. "First of all, that lizard brain shit-head ain't my friend. Second of all, he's got this covered."
It was then when the three saw that Bero had been blinded by the pastries as they were catching up to him, noted by him stopping and rubbing his face. The two then turned to Gummy in return. Gummy put his paw over his eyes, stretching down his eye lid. "Fucking Sovereigns" he whispered. He jumped to his feet and used his wings to fly near the DarkLizardmon. ExVee would circle back around just in case things go south. As Gummy got closer, Bero looked like he was swaying his arms back and forth. The thought of even talking to him started to frustrate him, but they had a job to do, so he had no other choice.
"Settle down you big baby. Let me help you get this--HEY WHAT THE FUCK? LET ME GO YOU OVERGROWN CHARRED LIZARD!" Bero had suddenly grabbed him as soon as he caught up to him. With no warning, the DarkLizardmon chucked him as hard as he could at the truck , like a pitcher in a baseball game.
Seeing that in any moment he was about to crash in the back of the truck headfirst if he didn't do anything, he started to spin rapidly until he caught on fire. If he was going to hit the truck, then he was going to hit it as hard as he can. One thing's for sure, he was so going to get Justice back after this.
Combat Log:
Bero picks up Gummy and blindly throws him at the truck.
In a last minute decision, Gummy uses Fire Vortex to crash into the back of the truck. The velocity in which he was thrown would boost the attack more than normal. -Fire Vortex: Jumps up in the air and performs continuous somersaults at speeds fast enough to generate flames to delivers a knockout blow from his Shippodzuchi when it lands. If missed, Gumdramon will become dizzy for a turn. Cooldown two post.

BONK! Bero's aim was true, and Gummy was sent flying through the air in a beautiful arc. With each spin and spiral through the air he caught more ablaze, until soon he was a whirling torrent of destruction. The two Shortmon, keeping their guns trained on Bero and ExVeemon, didn't even notice the Gumdramon until it was too late. The Shortmon boss quickly pulled his compatriot down, ensuring they could brace themselves against the truck as Gummy made impact.
It lurched forward suddenly, then halted to a stop. Whatever residual sugar the engine was running on had just been shaken out of its system, and the truck was back to being downed. Seeing this, the Shortmon boss swore under his breath and drew a strange vial from his pocket. He uncorked it, hastily jamming powders, droplets, and ingredients into it. His subordinate did much the same, although his handling of this strange alchemy was far shakier and more hesitant. Pink smoke rose from the vials, a sickly sweet smell wafting after it.
With his boss and co-worker busy, and the other Burgermon KO'd in the back of his truck, the driver knew what to do. He popped out of the driver seat, spinning his sign in much the same way a ninja warrior would spin their nunchucks. He did this a few times, then pointed right at the approaching heroes. By now, there was nothing that could be done about the truck being caught. But at least he could still stand and fight.
He lowered a pair of shades over his eyes, motioning in a "come on and get it" fashion.
Combat Log: The truck has stalled to a halt! The Shortmon and Shortmon Boss are busy wafting up some sort of concoction, and the Burgermon is solidly KO'd. Does the Burgermon driver stand alone?

One would think that once the truck has been slowed down and your sight restored with much furious wiping, Bero would go after the Shortmon who taunted him, spinning a sign to possibly attack them with. One would think you’d prioritize your enemies who will attack in return. However, that is assuming you would think. Bero, lacking in that thought, focused on the very thing his fury was most aimed at. The truck itself.Leaping and rushing towards it at furious speed, he didn’t quite come up to the point where the driver’s seat was, remaining at the back of the car. Ramming his claws into whatever part of the side he could, he furiously starting hauling and pulling upward. It was going to take a while for him to muster all the strength, but slowly and surely, his strength was being put in lifting the truck and slamming it over himself in a glorious suplex. The suplex didn’t come quite yet though, there was still a lot of lifting to be done, and he let his anger well up so he could use all of his force to do it in a bit… Bero wipes off the remainder of the icing! In his Fury, he goes after the truck! Bero goes to the back of the truck, ramming his claws into whatever part he can! Bero slowly starts lifting the truck. Bero expends 0 stacks of “Basics Mastery”, in preparation to use more next round...
