Nothing out of the ordinary, just keep acting like nothing has happen, is just your mind playing tricks, that's what Daichi has been telling himself the last weekend when after picking a weird device out of the sudden he started feeling observed and as if something was following him. Of course a normal person was going to make the connection that maybe the device had something to do with it but Daichi is not the brightest person in Japan, and besides there was something oddly alluring to the divice as if the teen was fated to find it and carry with him. Now it was school time so if he thought that he could ignore the weird feeling of being followed by staying home or working on the family restaurant he has to think again, for now he'll keep acting like everything is OK, Daichi took seat on the usual place in the middle of the classroom and near a window, the perfect place for him not in front with the smarter than him bunch nor in the last row with the slackers and the window just to have something to distract himself when boredom strikes. While he waited for the classroom to fill and the teacher to come the teenager decided to take the device and sketch it a little because why not? Again there was something alluring about it that Daichi couldn't just ignore it so might as well take a good look and sketch it and since he was catch listening to music during class last time he didn't brought his headphones. "I wonder what's your purpose" He muttered "Just 3 buttons and one screen, also some kind of port on top" The teen took some notes as he started drawing the device |

Monday was always just the worst wasn't it? Well, at least the first class that Colin, Luke and Bellamy had was Geography, a relatively easy class for them. Well, for Colin and Luke anyway.
"Well how the heck was I supposed to know that the main export of Turkey wasn't Turkeys?" Bellamy snapped as the subject was raised as the trio headed to class. The Impmon and Elecmon brothers were currently disguised as humans with their holosuits - Bellamy as a purple haired boy and Luke as a red haired one, both of them looking about the same age as Colin. All dressed in the usual Shibuya High uniforms.
"Honestly, Bellamy, it just takes under a minute on wikipedia to get a bare pass in this stuff" Luke impatiently replied to his twin. "Yes I know you prefer marathoning anime, but you can at least try and keep up with us so that both of us can go through school with Colin?"
"Hmph, alright, guess I can try..." Bellamy pouted. He was about to complain that humans shouldn't have so many stupid naming themes when they reached the classroom. The trio took their usual seats toward the back of the class. While they weren't usually delinquent, they preferred to not have too many eyes upon their backs, given the fact that two of them were holosuited digimon. And while he seemed the type, Bellamy knew better than to misbehave and bring attention to them.
On the way there though, Colin noticed one of his classmates drawing something. Ordinarily he would have walked past without a second glance, but he recognized the object. That was a digivice wasn't it?
However, before Colin could muster up the courage to speak, the teacher arrived. Lise Hamelin, Colin knew well by now. She was a native English woman, with blonde hair and glasses. She spoke Japanese well, but with a distinct British accent. And though Colin didn't quite know yet, he suspected that she was familiar with digimon, but she never revealed it to them yet.
"Hello class" she said as she took her place at the teacher's desk. Colin, Luke and Bellamy took their seats as everything settled down. "Now then, I'm impressed with your work on your last assignment. You'll be able to find your grades today during lunch on the class noticeboard. Sadly, at this stage of the year, we can't relax quite yet as we have another assignment to settle. This assignment will be a group project report about how the natural terrain of countries can affect the way the people within them live. I'd like you all to make groups of four people for this assignment please."
Well, with Colin, Luke and Bellamy, they made 3 so far, so they just needed one more. However, remembering the picture, Colin thought it'd be a good idea to work with the person he walked past earlier.
"Hey, you there, with the brown hair..." the black-haired teen spoke to the unknown classmate. "Would you like to work with us?"
If he did, that would be great. After all, there was more than just the assignment that Colin would like to discuss with him.

Little by little the classroom was filling up, whenever the door made a noise Daichi raise his gaze to check if it was the teacher or a classmate, he was not risking getting this thing confiscated, luckily he finish a rough drawing about it before the teacher enter the classroom and quickly hide his sketch book and the device in his backpack
Today class started with Geography, Lise Hamelin one of the very few teachers that Daichi didn't have a problem with, knowing that his future was set on the sushi restaurant he barely pay attention to many classes and put the minimum effort to pass, but with Hamelin was different, the passion she has for her job is really contagious and one of the ver few moments the teen enjoys being in class.
And the day was up to a good start until the teacher said that the next assignment was a group project, this are usually the worst for Daichi for two little reason.
First being that he's not the most social person out there, he'd rather listen to music, draw or read a manga before talking with other people, and secondly his minimal effort attitude makes it that he either feels that drags the group down or has to push the other slackers to the bare minimum, almost as if there was never a middle point for him.
Normally he'd wait for the groups to be form and pick the one that's missing one person but this time was different, he actually was picked by another group rather quickly, which raised a lot of questions specially since apparently the one that pick him didn't knew his name, but no problem with that a nice moment to introduce himself.
"Me?" He question just to confirm that the black haired teen was referring to him, after that he'll sit on an empty sit beside the trio "Hi thanks for picking me so quickly, hope we can do a nice job together, my name is Yoshimura Daichi by the way"
And just like his project group he didn't quiet knew the name of his partners, he have seen them and laugh a little when the purple haired teen made one of those joke answers to any of the teachers question, but he had never interact with them before so no much reason to learn their names (or any other classmate for that matter)

Colin was glad that the brown haired person accepted. He must imagine that being picked out so suddenly like that might be confusing. Especially since before now, Daichi was simply just another classmate, that Colin recognized but rarely spoke to. He could empathize. After all, before he met Luke and Bellamy, he was kind of a similar sort of person. A shy nervous type that didn't speak Japanese very well, so would only participate in groups when directed. But that was nearly three years ago. Colin had learned from his partners how to fit in a little better.
"Hiya, Daichi. I'm Colin James, and these are my... brothers Luke and Bellamy" he said, hesitating before the lie, but, he had to keep to the story if he wanted his partners to stay in school.
"Adopted brothers, in case you're wonderin' about our crazily different hair." Bellamy added, giving a little grin.
"And the fact that we're in the same year." Luke added, smiling pleasantly too. "And no worries about that, I've got some ideas to share with you all about it already."
After everyone in the class had either chosen their groups or were assigned to them, Hamelin-Sensei would draw their attention again.
"Alright, class. I recommend you exchange contact details with each other and get to work on this assignment as soon as possible, because you don't want to be in the position of having five of them due at once through your classes." she advised, distributing instruction sheets through the room for all of them. "Now then. Let's proceed with today's exercise."
"Let's meet in the library during break, Daichi, we can sort things out there." Colin advised his classmate. For now, it seemed Lise was proceeding with the usual class, which was half lecture, half worksheet activities. All in all, there wasn't yet an opportunity to talk after that.
At the end of the double period, the bell rang, and the teacher dismissed the class. Colin and his partners packed their bags, then waited near the door. Already, Colin was wondering how he should approach this situation. How did Daichi know what a digivice looked like? Was he already informed about digimon? How could he find out such information without sounding weird? Oh gosh, he was a little nervous about this idea in the first place.

All things considere Daichi seemed to be picked up by a nice group, a trio of brothers (well adopted brothers) sounds like a fun group to be, after all who knows you better than your own kin? God knows that even if he and Sayo argue and fought for a lot of things both knew when something actually bothered the other and was there to help but that's beside the point.
Daichi figured it will be easy to work with the trio specially since the red haired assure him that he already had an idea, in a way it felt as he was picked just to fill the one free spot but that doesn't mean he won't pull his own weigh, if he was picked the teen will make sure the James don't regret their choice.
The rest of the class progressed normally as the teacher distribute some sheets of papers with the class activities of the day, they'd work on the project on the break and that was just "great", the teen sighed as the morning was going to be full of work, Daichi look through the window for some seconds to try and clear his mind before starting the activities and for a split second he saw something weird, it looked like a very small green duck (with no legs mind you) followed by a small white bouncing ball with a face and thin rabbit like ears... What?
The teen blinked and rubbed his eyes trying to understand what he just saw or if it was even real, but the time he open his eyes again those things were gone... Was it real? It couldn't be, right? Yet there was something telling him that it was real and his eyes didn't lie to him, nah it's impossible he just may be imagining things, Daichi thought that trying to wrap his head around it wasn't worth it and return his gaze to the sheet of paper.
As finally the double period reach its end and the bell rang, Daichi packed his things, stretched and then yawned, to think the morning was just starting, well nothing to do about just focus and do your best, he walked towards the door of the class room where his partners for the project were waiting.
"To the library then, may I know about what country will be focusing our project?" He asked looking at Luke with a smile, Geography wasn't Daichi's worst subject but he wouldn't say was his best either so asking before going to the library could help, he may know something already and make the investigation for the project easier

The trio were glad that Daichi didn't have any prior engagements for the break, so they began to make their way toward the library together. Luke had finished his exercise early, as he tended to be something of a talented student that did his best at academics. Bellamy was the opposite, only doing just enough to pass. Colin was something in between, although he tried to put as much quality into his work as he could. A little difficult since he was used to the English language in Elementary school and had to switch to Japanese from Junior High onward, but, it got a little easier every year.
Because of this, Luke had managed to read the assignment criteria sheet in full, getting ideas on how to approach this. Daichi asked what ideas he had.
"Well, we'd want to aim for countries with a lot of different geographical regions, but aim for those more obscure ones that others might not pick. But not too big that would make it too difficult for us. The shortlist I have in mind is Switzerland, Italy or Romania if we want to go with Europe; Bolivia, Colombia or Argentina for South America; Turkey, Iran or Thailand for Asia; or Egypt, South Africa, or the DRC in Africa." Luke answered.
"Urgh, my head's hurtin' already, I don't even know most of those" Bellamy complained. "And we ain't doin' Turkey either, I had enough of thinkin' of that place!" he referred to his earlier embarrassment.
"Well, we don't have to pick today, Bells, all we have to do is exchange details." Luke assured him. Eventually the four of them reached the library. Thankfully it was just recess so there weren't many people here for the shorter break.
Colin then led them to a quiet corner of the library where it was unlikely they'd be overheard, then sat at a table behind the natural sciences section. As soon as the others were seated, Luke pulled his phone from his pocket, inviting the others to do the same.
"Now then, the three of us have our details, so..." he was tapping on the screen for a few moments, then handed his phone to Daichi. "Could you please put down your number and e-mail here? Once that's done I'll share it with my brothers here, then send you a message with our details, and that'll probably be all we need to do at this stage."
As that was being done, Colin felt the need to raise the subject of the digivice. "Oh yeah, I saw you drawing a pretty interesting picture on the way in. Do you still have it with you?" he asked.

As the group walked to the library Luke answer Daichi by giving a short list of countries they could use in the project, his reasoning was on point too, go for obscure countries that not everyone would pick and knowing the slacker way of doing things that meant that most European and African countries would be off the list.
"Hmmm... From that list I'd say that Italy, Romania, Iran, Thailand and South Africa are the more popular "Obscure" choices" Daichi said "We gotta be two steps ahead of the slackers and the way they think it's usually "Do I know this place?" in case of Italy, Iran and South Africa those are the easy picks on terms of having heard of them, Romania and Thailand are more a case of "I may heard about this so it's obscure enough to talk about it" The Teen explained his reasoning
The rest where pretty neat options,South America specially since almost no one would think of picking a country from there, it's so obscure it might as well not exist, tho Switzerland and Egypt were pretty interesting and rich for this project, guess it'll depend which one is going to be easier to get information for the project.
They reach the library in no time and thankfully it was mostly empty it would be easier to talk and organize the project that way, Daichi nodded as Luke give him his phone to put his number and E-mail, with that done they could now send messages to coordinate how and when start the project
"Also if we need a place to study we can do it on my home, I hope you heard about the "Rising Sun" sushi restaurant, my dad is the owner and we basically live on the second floor, it'll be peaceful as dad is always downstairs, my mom would be on her shift in the hospital and my sister move out some time ago" He mention
And that could've been the end of the little meeting, but much to his surprise Colin ask for the sketch he was doing early before the class started, Daichi smiled as it was one of the first time some one seems interested, he happily noded and took from his backpack his sketchbook and the device
"I wasn't doing anything big, just sketching this device I found some days ago"

Luke smiled at Daichi. "I like that reasoning. I reckon the next time we meet we should take a look at all the countries on the list and figure out the one that interests us the most, who knows? Might even find one that gets Bellamy interested?"
"Hey, come on, Luke, you know me, I'll pull my weight how I can." Bellamy objected, realizing that Luke was implying he was coming across as something of a deadweight. "Well, if ya gotta put me on the spot, I'm leanin' to Italy. I mean... that's where Rome was, ya know? If not, my second choice is Egypt. Those places were the most important in the world for like hundreds, even thousands of years at a time as far as I know."
Colin and Luke exchanged smiles. They knew they were doing well if they could get Bellamy interested in schoolwork. As much as an aloof class clown he seemed, there were things that the Impmon did enjoy about humanity.
As they settled down in the library, Daichi offered them a place to work together. Apparently his family ran a sushi restaurant, and this made the trio instantly delighted.
"Wow, that's awesome of you, thanks!" Colin said, delighted. He did enjoy sushi for a meal every now and then. Luke and Bellamy thought the same.
Then Daichi showed Colin the picture of the digivice again. Colin paused for a moment to ponder how he would be able to approach this situation. He might scare Daichi away if he was too direct about it, so, maybe some familiarity on the subject might be the best way to approach this?
"I see, yeah, that's a pretty good picture..." he began, scratching his chin. He then reached into his pocket. "And you say you found that device? That looks a little like the device I found a while back... here it is."
Colin then placed his purple and red D-Arc on the table. Following that, he would ask a gentle probing question. "Do you know what they are?" he asked. Colin would be able to know where Daichi was on these things depending on his answer.

Daichi smiled as he got complimented on his way of thinking and Bellamy helped to short the list by getting two picks, Italy and Egypt were interesting choices, tho he will the first to admit that knows nothing about those countries aside a little bit of their history, the Roman Empire was a force to not mess with during it's prime, and the only thing he knew about Egypt geographically is that the Pyramids of Giza are there
"We'll see, but those are two good options" He said with a thumbs up
After discussing a couple of more things and offering his place to work if needed, the topic shifted to the device Daichi laugh and scratch the back of his head as Colin commented that his sketch was good, he then focus on the one the teen put on the table, it seemed like the same device Daichi had but in a different model.
"Here, this is mine" He said passing the device to Colin "It'll be of much help if you tell me what it is and how it works, because I've no idea how to even turn it on, sometimes it just lights up and two arrows appear but when I follow them I found nothing"
It was really a weird device, guess it'll be nice to speak how he found it after all it doesn't seem to be something you get in a store, at least he didn't got his that way tho it's kind of embarrassing to admit how the thing end in his hands
"Before you ask I found it last friday, I was on my way home on my bike after buying some mangas to read on the weekend when out of nowhere this cat gets in the middle, so I stir to the left to avoid rolling him over and crash with a trash can..." As stated before a little embarrassing story "And I found it there, it didn't seem to be anyone around at the time so I pick it up... I'd normally wouldn't do it but it's hard to explain it just felt right for me to take it, BUT if it has an original owner and it's looking for it I'll give it back" And now Daichi waits to not look as a crazy dude that steal things from trash cans and an answer of what the device is

With the topic of their assignment mostly resolved for the time being, Colin was somewhat eager but nervous about moving on to the next subject. The teen was absolutely aware that Daichi was in fact a newly recruited individual into this clandestine group known as "digimon tamers", yet he knew he had to do his best to keep cool about this and not scare him away. Hopefully he had learned enough from his partner Bellamy to do so.
After Colin showed his digivice, Daichi returned the favour by revealing his own model. Colin and Luke exchanged glances for a moment, this was the genuine thing as far as they could tell.
For a small moment, Colin pondered if this was a trap set up by DATS, but... no it wouldn't make sense. DATS knew that he was part of AEGIS, undoubtedly, and they had already said that AEGIS was free to continue operating, as long as they didn't obstruct their operations, so, he was inclined to think Daichi was one who had just recently come across this device.
Daichi admitted he didn't know what it was, and that he didn't even know how to activate it. Colin rubbed his chin as to how to answer that. He assumed that meant that he hadn't yet met his digimon partner, assuming he had one. And that he had already followed his directions, but found nothing. "Yeah, I had the same problem when I first came across mine." he answered to that.
Yet the story Daichi told of how he had come across it, it had seemingly appeared out of nowhere, just like his own had. Yet... Daichi had come across a digivice, but hadn't been able to locate his partner. Colin was unaware of a similar thing happening. The young man paused for a moment, tossing his own digivice between both hands as he thought of what to do here.
In the end, Colin thought the best way to go about this was a careful route. A gentle one, that wouldn't result in Daichi running away instantly.
"Say, Daichi... have you ever heard of something called "digimon"?" he asked, quietly. If Daichi was entirely oblivious to the concept, he would then do his best to break it to him gently. The idea was that he'd ask Luke to drop his holosuit, given that the cute little Elecmon was probably the better candidate to expose to his classmate without making him run for the hills.
Following that, he supposed he'd best come clean. "Because these devices... they're linked to 'digimon'. Sorry if I'm coming across as shifty about this, but, I don't want to overload you with too much info at once. I'm happy to talk you through it, because I think I know what these are."

Seeing Colin so lost in his thought and exchanging glances with Luke didn't help much Daichi to ease himself, what are those things that needs some time to answer? In any case Colin seemed to have the same problem of not knowing what it was when he find his "You found yours too?" That could be a simple coincidence or... "So this aren't things one normally can go to store and buy?" Yeah Daichi can jump into conclusions forgetting that coincidences exist That aside it seemed that this devices where connected to something call "digimon" something Daichi never heard of before and to be honest it sounded like something fictional you know? Like the names for an anime or toy line... Fictional.... Could it be? Daichi grab his notebook and start doodling on it "Never heard about them but...." He said as he finish the doodles "Do they look something like this?"
"I'm drawing out of memory so it might not look that good The teen admitted He probably was overthinking it but as stated before Daichi tends to make quick connections and jump to conclusions, if this device was related to the weird things he saw outside the window in class and that feeling of being follow it was worth the shot to ask |

Colin simply smiled and affirmed Daichi's question. "Yep. Got off a train one day, reached into my pocket for my phone and there it was." Of course that was only half of the story. Colin would be happy to share the rest once he knew how Daichi would react to digimon in general. "And yeah, guess that's the truth of it." he admitted.
When Colin asked about digimon, Daichi went about sketching again, drawing pictures. Supposing this was important enough, Colin, Luke and Bellamy waited until he was finished, then Daichi revealed to them a rough picture of two in-training level digimon.
"Yeah... those are digimon." Luke said, nodding with familiarity. "That's a Koromon and Chapmon. I dunno where you saw them, but... that you know what they look like, I'd say that both them and the digivice you have are linked."
Supposing now would be about as good a time as any to show to Daichi that they were the real deal, Colin turned to Bellamy. "Hey, Bells, do you think you'd be able to make a scene that'd draw everyone's attention but not get you into trouble?"
"Hm..." Bellamy paused, surveying the library. He knew what Colin was thinking here, and quickly formed a plan. "Sure, leave it to me. That's Kagami, I owe her a favour for her helpin' me with math last week, she asked if I could help out with her Golden Week fundraiser in return. Guess I can make a show of it."
"Thanks, Bells, you're the best." Colin told his "brother". Then, as Bellamy loudly greeted Kagami and asked how her fundraising was going, Colin turned to Daichi. "So then, we're about to show you something that we've gotta keep secret. The thing is, those digimon you saw, the digivice you have, that means you're a Digimon Tamer, like me. If you want, I can help you out with all you need to know. If not, I promise I won't bother you about it again. So, are you okay with accepting our help?"

So those thing he saw were real and more importantly were linked to the device, in all honesty Daichi didn't know how to feel about this specially since Colin asked Bellamy to get everyone's attention, it make sound this much more important than what the teen actually thought it was.
He listen to Colin's explanation that the device and the little creature he saw are linked and that turns him into a Digimon Tamer and apparently there was more to it but Colin would only keep going if Daichi wanted, being honest all this bite his curiosity but at the same time it feels that if he says yes there is no turning back
"Let me get this straight... You're saying that there are little creatures known as digimon and because I have that thing I have to train or tame them?" Yup, that sounded about right, he then look at Luke "I saw those two things through the window when we were at class" The teen sighed "Look, I'm not gonna lie this really got me curious but if it's something dangerous I might not want to be involved, I'm no tamer I can barely make my dog listen to me" He laughed nervously
Then again this could be a one chance only opportunity, he found that thing on a trash can but who's to say that he was fated to find it? Could he really say no to something that might be his ticket out of the boring routine? Besides those things looked small he can take care of them no problem, right?

Colin noted that Daichi was starting to appear a little hesitant about this whole thing. He chided himself for making it look like a big deal, but decided to backtrack a little.
"Well... when I say 'tamer', it's more of a 'partnership'." he explained. "Digimon are pretty much like talking pets at first. But once you get to know them, they can be your best friends."
Daichi said that he didn't want to get involved if this was a dangerous thing. Colin nodded at this. "That's fine, you don't have to do anything dangerous once you know your digimon partners. I know someone who met his partner once and just keeps him nearby while he goes through college. But if you're open to adventure, and just a degree of danger, there's a whole world out there where you can learn more. I'd know, I have two partners."
At this point, Bellamy was making a loud speech (after getting permission from the Librarian) about how significant this year's Golden Week would be. "Come on, people, this is your first new Emperor in 30 years! Let's chip in a few hundred Yen, eh?" and was rattling a collection tin for fundraising efforts. Those within the library were paying more attention to him and reluctantly paying up, meaning nobody was looking when Colin spoke.
"Luke, power down your holosuit for a moment."
"Okay." Luke said, then powered down. Where before there was seated a red-haired human, now seated a red and white furred Elecmon, wearing a blue scarf, with purple stripes on his back, arms and legs. "Hiya, Daichi. I'm Luke... in my true form. I'm an Elecmon. Sorry to show this to you so suddenly, but, we gotta be discreet about this these days." he pointed a claw over to Bellamy too. "He's a digimon as well, my twin brother, we're both partners to Colin. We basically disguise ourselves in holosuits so we can be at school with Colin."
When enough time had passed, Luke reactivated his holosuit, turning back into an apparent human. Both he and Colin awaited Daichi's reaction to this.

So not actual taming? Just pets that talk that become best friends? More of a partnership? Well that's sound a little better besides those two creature seem small enough to hide and not get a lot of attention, if anything he could give it a try after all what's the worst that could happen?
And then Bellamy's distraction started as he gain everyone's attention for a raise funding for the golden week, it honestly sounded interesting but another thing got his attention as the red headed boy in front of him turn into a small red, white and purple rabbit, it was Luke no doubt about that he then point at Bellamy and said that he was also a digimon.
By this point Daichi's eyes widened and if it wasn't because he's smart enough to not make a scene out of this when they're obviously keeping it a secret, he would've screamed his lungs out, the teen cover his mouth and hold the scream and once Luke went back to looking human he took a deep breath and manage to calm himself
"Ok... That's something I did not expect" He probably would think he's dreaming in one of those weird Men in Black movies, but nope it was 100% real "Not gonna lie tho, that is amazing, so there is a whole group of people that have digimon as partners and go on adventures?
