The Call to Adventure, Meeting the Mentor (Arakan/Ask)

Charles nodded in understanding as Arakan voiced her own thoughts, regarding the certain distinctions between their two spirits. If Arakan wasn't making any conscious effort to stop the Plotmon from coming out, though; then it sounded like it was most likely that Plotmon couldn't emerge at all, unlike how the little Wanyamon could... "Hm... I wonder why they can't, but my spirit can, then..." Charles would ponder out loud, adding "It's not like your Plotmon isn't one to grab any opportunity for fun by the horns, after all..."
The Wanyamon, listening in on the duo's conversation all the while, would idly tilt its head - peering up to Arakan and Charles as they spoke. Its curiosity and intrigue could be clearly felt by the both of them - Arakan thru her contact with the spirit, seeing as it was on her lap, and Charles thru the bond they shared now. It didn't seem to be sure, itself, as to what made it different or special compared to Arakan's Plotmon spirit, but it seemed just as interested in this subject as they were!
The suggestion of them comparing their situations once they had a better bead on it all, though, would make Charles chuckle and nod. "Maybe so; I'd certainly be willing to compare, once we both have a better understanding on all of this." He'd agree; smiling to Arakan. "I have a feeling that we're both going to have some very interesting experiences along the way, that we can share, as well."
With that though, Charles would glance up - both hearing, and seeing, as the train to Shibuya would begin to roll in. "Ah, looks like it's here." He'd muse; getting up and idly stretching his limbs. The Wanyamon would recognize this to mean that it was time to go, and would briefly nuzzle against Arakan - the same static-y tingly feeling in its wake - before hopping back towards Charles, and returning to his body once more. Charles would blink a bit at this, but would chuckle again - before glancing over to Arakan. "You ready to go, Kiddo?"

Arakan petted at the Wanyamon spirit, having quite enjoyed the experience of having what was essentially an affectionate housecat in her lap for a little while. It sort of distracted her from her own exhaustion. Arakan nodded and stood up just after the Wanyamon left her lap, stretching her arms over her head and then from side to side. She was sorta hitting her second wind and the stretching helped to speed that up a bit. "Yeah," She huffed after letting her arms relax at her sides. "It'll be good to be in bed."
She'd wait for the train to actually open up before stepping on, of course. Glancing back to Charles quickly just to make sure they were coming as well. These trains were all still a whole lot nicer than she was expecting, especially when compared to some of the ones back home. The lack of other passengers also allowed her to sit down rather than to stand, since there wasn't anyone around who needed it more.
Point was, she liked being able to sit on the train. She was hoping she could be able to get by her parents and go straight to bed without having to explain her lack of bicycle. No doubt despite having paid for it out of her own pocket, a certain someone would find an excuse to berate and essentially hold her hostage from being able to go to sleep after a long day like this one. Once again, thoughts like that made her want to stay. If she had half a mind she'd get off that train, but... It's just a little more complicated than that.
The teen sighed deeply, leaning back in her seat. She was just so tired. In more ways than just sleepy, obviously.

Charles wordlessly chuckled at Arakan's response, nodding as the two of them would step onto the train together; not taking too long to find a seat for the both of them, and settle down. The train in question - though still a Trailmon on the outside, even if less conspicuous - looked a bit different from the one that went between Terminus and Rosewood; the inside looking closer in appearance to the other subways in Shibuya, in fact.
Once the two were settled down though, and the train got moving... Charles would be peering down at his D-Tector, seeming to be wondering something. It was easy enough, to take on this form - especially given the spirit helping nudge him along - though... What did he do, to turn back? Idly fiddling with the buttons on the D-Tector - which was easier said than done, given his gloved paws (he debated taking them off, initially, but a small part of him wanted to keep them on too) - he'd blink in surprise as the light of Digivolution would overtake him, changing his form back into his normal human form..!
He couldn't help but blink perhaps a bit owlishly with this; seeming as though taken by surprise by whatever buttons he had pressed to manage this. "Ah..." He'd begin; glancing down at himself - noting that yes, mhmm, the old man aches were starting to set back in - before chuckling somewhat sheepishly to Arakan, as he mentioned "I suppose that's another difference, between the two of us, as 'Spirit Users'." He seemed to have an easier time with changing form like this, after all. It was good that he figured this out now, though; given that they were on the train back home... Walking around in Shibuya as an anthromorphic Shiba Inu would probably not go along well, with others!
Howev er, in glancing to Arakan, he'd also note that she was starting to look rather tired. He couldn't help a sympathetic smile at this; mentioning "If you want to rest your eyes for a bit, I'll let you know when we arrive. It's not long enough for a nap, but even a small power nap never hurts."

Arakan had watched Charles toy around with his Digivice as he tried to figure out how to change back to normal, and mentioned toying seemed to confirm that changing back to a human was about as simple as a button press. For Charles, anyway. Whether or not it would be such a simple endeavor for her remained to be seen and she could put off figuring it out until she was next in the digital world. "I suppose so." She'd nod her head in response, laughing lightly at Charles' surprised reaction to the whole thing.
A power nap was indeed an option.. Though honestly she didn't trust herself not to be out cold for the rest of the evening if she were to go to sleep now. "I'm fine- I've already made it this far, I'm sure I can make it the rest of the way." Arakan reassured. The concern was reassuring, in a very odd sort of way. Being shown kindness really did make a difference in one's overall mood- a difference she would be sure to make note of.

Charles chuckled with Arakan; leaning back in his seat, as he looked down at his D-Tector once more. He couldn't help but dwell further upon the thought of the differences between the two of them, and their relationships with their spirits; even though they both had only just met those aforementioned spirits. Compared to Arakan, he had relative ease going back to his human form - and he couldn't help but wonder why, as he watched the passing plains beyond the window. Perhaps... It had to do with how their spirits were?
It certainly was a solid theory, in his opinion. Plotmon didn't seem to be able to 'emerge' and explore their environment on their own like Wanyamon could; which meant that, to be able to move around, play, and have fun... Plotmon had to, essentially, live it out through Arakan. Wanyamon, inversely, could come out whenever they wanted; meaning that they weren't cooped up like Plotmon was...
... Geez. Now he kinda felt bad for Plotmon.
At Arakan's insistence that she was fine though, Charles would nod; warmly smiling. "Alrighty then, Kiddo." He'd hum in response; turning and glancing out towards the window once more.
From there, it'd be mostly quiet for the time being, beyond the sound of the train making its way along thru the expansive plains that seemed to surround Terminus. If the Eastern Timberlands and Mainframe Hills were calm, then the Network Plains were tranquil; there was nothing that could be construed as being even remotely dangerous as far as the eye could see.
Charles couldn't help but let out a relaxed sigh, at this; tilting his head back, and closing his eyes briefly. "... There's something nice, about just watching the outdoors like this." He'd comment; opening an eye a sliver to peer over at Arakan. "It's quite a breath of fresh air, to get some - well - fresh air, away from Shibuya for a bit. Perhaps, if neither of us get any surprise obligations, I could join you when you head out to return here?" He'd chuckle softly with this, as he added "And even if I'm unable to join you, I'd certainly love to hear about any antics you and your little friend get up to, out here - albeit the idea of a youngster being out in a strange, unfamiliar world on her own isn't exactly a comforting idea to me I will admit. Blame those paternal instincts of mine, I suppose; they certainly don't go away with age..!" Charles would laugh heartily at his little joke; smiling brightly to Arakan.
