Amelie knew this was a bad idea. Why did she have to be so stubborn? This blizzard had been definitely something she didn't expect, and neither did her car; at least right now, it seemed like the engine was dead, and that the brunette was stranded inside until the abnormal weather condition decided it had overstayed its welcome.
What was she doing here, you ask? Well, rumor has it that there's a pretty big city somewhere in this area, and that it actually was the base of operations of a decently big and famous team. Maybe the girl had been too self-centered, to not even know about the whole deal? Granted, the north and the Dark Area were pretty far away, but still!
Right now, her outs were either to wait the blizzard out or to get out and try to advance by herself, and the one she'd pick was rather obvious. So... waiting it was.
There wasn't much to do, and Amy was getting bored fast, but that beat freezing any day of the week. A sigh escaped her throat as she tried to focus on... anything that'd make the time pass by faster, really; entertainment was hard to come by when the signals were dead and there wasn't much to do.

Shining Sea is indeed a hard place to navigate on. There are not much here bars the crystal trees that juts out from the ground, seem to remnants of its former origin as a place somewhere in the net sea... perhaps? Either way, the snowstorms are pretty much predicted by Ys. The barrier that surrounded the place protected it against the snowstorm, but not from the temperature drop.
With it being the only city nearby, some people might actually try to go toward the city in this sort of weather, at times getting stuck... and when it's come to that, Ys would send periodical signal, usually around five minutes or so, with simple message of "Are you stuck and in need of help?" If they pressed "no", there would be another prompt to ask them if they're sure. If they are then help would not be sent to them and the message will not be repeated.
The message will however be repeated for those who yet pressed it, with loudest alarm possible, to wake them up. Blizzard is a dangerous thing. If they fell asleep and caught in hypothermia, they would end up freezing. Either way, the message would appear on Amelie's D-Terminal. There are also sound of train passing through overhead. From the look of it, some rescue party.

Well, at least it seemed that the help was on its way! It was good that the residents of this area were aware of the potential perils that many unaware travelers could face. Funnily enough, being one of those on that very moment didn't feel as bad! It took less than a second for Amelie to press the button yes. She needed some help, and probably a mug of warm cocoa. That'd make things even better.
Wishful thinking aside, it seemed that the help wouldn't take a lot of time to arrive, considering the audible sounds of the train flying overhead. Much to her relief, it seemed like the prospect of having to wait until the blizzard decided to stop was something that wouldn't happen.
The only thing left? For them to notice her presence; hopefully, something that'd happen soon enough! While waiting for that to happen, she wondered what kind of person or people would be in charge of such a job. Would them be a member of the organization that had claimed this place as their own? Or maybe members of a different organism? Guess that those questions would be answered soon enough. It was only a matter of time.

The train sound overhead seem to get closer and closer, before suddenly large shadow cast beside the car. A figure seem to disembarked, and knocked Amelie's window... Thankfully as this happened, the snow around her cars seem to be rapidly displaced. There are some Penmon workers its seems.. They sort of working fast to clear the snow from her car. What awaits her outside her window is a blond haired teen, seem about 16 or 17. Part of her bangs were dyed pink. She's covered from head to toe with warm clothing, and her hoodie is... cat shaped?
Should Amelie lowered her window, she would ask something immediately
"Hello,, we heard your SOS message. Can you move your car or is it completely frozen? In case if it's frozen, just stay inside. Our crew will move it to the rescue train. You're the last one out, so we'll be seriously grateful if you could check it quickly so all of us can return to the city."
Looks like the said rescue train is a Grand Locomon.
"Oh, I forgot but here." she quickly passed what looked like a hot cocoa with marshmallow floating on it. "Please drink that for the meantime. If you want anything savory like soup, I also have some... unless you're type that prefer Vodka or other type of alcohol, then you have to order them in the city."

The help was on the quick side, that was for sure. Luckily for Amelie, it seemed like the infrastructure regarding rescues in this area had been polished to a sheen; impressive, that was for sure. Whoever was in charge of it definitely had done their homework, and that was to say the least.
She watched as the now in the area began to disperse, and actually caught a glimpse of the Grand Locomon looming above, or the girl knocking at her window. Quickly, the obstruction was lowered and the impending speech was promptly heard.
"Hello." Of course, first things were first. "Lemme see if I can start the engine; just a sec." At least it seemed like the thing had an aptitude for recovering back to tip-top shape in record time! After bickering a bit, the engine began to stir back to life. It seemed like it was working! "Seems like the car's functional! I wouldn't mind some old-school towing, though. Who knows if the coolant's gotten frozen or other unpleasant stuff. Might risk an accident, so better be careful right?"
While her comments could certainly be taken as opportunism, the fact that they could be true still held water. Or that the cocoa looked pretty delicious; true as well! It took the brunette half a second to snatch the cup from the blonde's hands. "Not in a position to complain about anything, thank you very much. Nobody should drink alcohol and drive at the same time, though. That sounds very dangerous, and I'd probably have a heart attack if anything happened to my baby. Might reconsider your offer once I'm positive I won't be driving for a while, though!"
Colorful comments aside, it seemed like there was still one task left to accomplish. "I'd be thankful if I could be given instructions on where to park the car, or if the Grand Locomon will take care of the logistics. That'd be much appreciated!"
That was her priority for now; there was also the fact that this girl looked a lot like somebody she was supposed to know, but first she decided to take care of what actually mattered before moving onto that.

"Towing is not really a problem. You don't have to do a thing, really," Karin answered. "Lift 'er up, boys!" And suddenly, the car got lifted. It's strange to see how stable they are, despite the waddling that the Penmon usually does when they walked, the moment they lifted the car, it felt stable, although a bit slow, but who to blame them? At least the snow does not reach them because the next moment, a lower compartment of the Grand Locomon suddenly opened, revealing some of the cars stored there.
"Well, then, just to make sure, we're going to the city now because you're our last SOS responder. You can stay in your car for five minutes or maybe go above for a bit of more warmer place. It's up to you really. We'll drop you off at the station, where you can drive your car again from there. If there is anything that you want to ask, you can do so, just ask the Penmons here or... well, I think I'll just stay here really."
The cat hooded girl took off her hood, which shows her short hair... short? Not really. Actually, it's long, and braided at it. She took it out from under her warm clothes. Once that done and all, she opened what looked like a cooler box, except it's seem a heating box instead and picked what looked like a soup. Once she found a place for her to sit (which is actually about a little walk from where Amelie is, then proceeded to eat it.
...Yep, it's creme soup with puff pastry on the top after all.

It seemed like everything would go smoothly! That was quite the relief, at least in regards to Amelie and her car; if it weren't for her actual kid back at Deeplane, she would probably go as far as to call it her baby, but that was something that didn't matter right now. A Penmon crew was doing a more than an amazing job at ensuring that the vehicle would be transported smoothly straight into the Grand Locomon.
Success, kinda! Especially when considering the words that came next. "No problem on my side, really! That's where I was supposed to be headed to, anyway. But, you know... blizzard happened and all; didn't know that the climate here could get so harsh. In a sense, it's nothing like my usual area of residence."
Yup, the Dark Area had its own share of problems, but random blizzards were definitely not among them. In any case, since the girl in front of her was being so nice, she decided to implicitly accept both her offers with a nod. After leaving her car in order to accompany the mysterious girl during her meal, she just sat next to her, and decided to relax for once.
"I know that the vast majority of this place is run by an organization of sorts, and rumor has it that it's headed by a human. If you don't mind, call you tell me a bit about them? My goal here was to find them out and maybe chat a bit, even though that might sound a bit too casual...? I don't really know if that would've been correct or not, though. I'm pretty bad at being serious myself."
A small giggle escaped her mouth. Her circumstances had been really awkward, all things considered. "So much for that plan. Thanks for helping me out down there, by the way. My name's Amelie; pleased to meet you."

"Not only that it's problem about blizzard, the salt that got lifted also nothing to sneeze at. Normally around this area, if people forces to travel while it's snowing this hard outside, they'll only invite death to themselves. We're aware of this since the first time, so we have about three rescue crews of Grand Locomons just to make sure that we're not missing anyone. Sometimes, locals around here also need immediate medical attention where they would die if they wait, so some of them tend to risk themselves going to our city... that's where we hops in to help too. Whiteout is dangerous, especially around here," Karin answered.
Organization? "KIZNA? That's us pretty much," she took out her badge and showed it to the girl in front of her. "You don't have to care about the formalities unless it's for formal reason such as group talks and whatnot, but if you want a prolonged talk with the member like interview or such, you should make an appointment. About 30% of the citizen is KIZNA member in some way or another. If you want to 'find' us, as in... just the 'members', then they're almost everywhere, but if you means 'find' as in 'the leaders', then I guess... you found one of them? I'm not really that high ranked to be honest, not the PR part of the team too. Name's Takamiya Karin, nice to meet you. I'd offer a handshake but unfortunately my hand is a bit full.
Anyway, what do you want to ask specifically? I'm bad at explaining what's what, if you catch my drift."

The North was indeed a dangerous region; how a group of people have decided to try to make it more habitable rather than just choosing one of the more favored areas of the Digital World made her smile. Definitely, something to admire; kindred spirits, maybe? It was a bit hard to tell so early.
"I can see how the climate can catch some travelers off-guard. I would hardly believe it can get this treacherous if I hadn't experienced it myself. I'm glad that I got to know better without any significant consequences, though." Indeed, the blizzards over here were worthy of the utmost respect. If more travelers to this location happened, she'd probably have to use her digimon form for that; not optimal, but living this again would be the biggest bother ever.
KIZNA, huh? While not quite what the brunette was here for... "What does that name mean? Is it an acronym like DATS? Or maybe a word in a foreign language? I'm curious." With that question out of the way, she could focus on the actual explanation of what the team was doing here and how they helped the less-fortunate members of Northern prominence. Commendable, really.
Karin had been pretty helpful at explaining pretty much everything that Amy wanted to know. That had been pretty helpful! A thoughtful expression took over her face for a couple of seconds as she absorbed everything thrown in her way. Her name, especially, prompted the young woman to raise an eyebrow in curiosity. She'll probably have to ask about that later.
In any case! "Well... my reason is kinda formal, and you pretty much have hit the nail on the head more or less." Quite perceptive, to boot. "I'm an envoy from a small group that's currently trying to make the Dark Area a better place to live. I've studied thoroughly about the topic, and the truth is that this is the only organization that has attempted something like that; I mean, try to make a highly inhospitable a safer place for its inhabitants. Pretty much everyone else has decided to establish their base of operations on the safer locations of this world, so... I honestly think that you guys were the most suitable organization to form a partnership of sorts. It's obvious that, at the very least, we share a common interest in making everyone's daily lives better instead of just jumping into action when there's a major catastrophe or something of the sort afoot."
But that was probably enough monologuing. "Anyway, before bothering you for longer, I figure I gotta make an appointment before spewing more idealism out. Mind telling me the fastest way to do it? That'd help a lot."
A calm smile indicated that a handshake wasn't necessary. She had already bothered Karin more than enough on her lunch break to ask for something that was pretty much a formality in this situation.

"It's our duty to give you people a slap on the wrist, but most of all bail you from this sort of dangerous situation. Well, honestly, we're also planning to establish a blizzard-proof way to get to Ys, but at the moment we don't quite have the capital. When we do though, you can expect a better transportation from Snowflake to Ys, even through the worst of blizzards. We're currently training our Grand Locomons for that level of transport." Karin explained.
Question about the team... well that's pretty easy. "KIZNA? It doesn't stands for anything. If you put U there so it reads KIZUNA, then you'll get "Bond". It's pretty much how it works. The U isn't present in the official spelling of the organization, but we pretty much call it "Kizuna" anyway."
So the reason was quite formal... She have heard a bit about Deeplane Council, but have yet quite understood how big is it really. Considering how busy they are with their own city, gathering intels on other teams seem to take secondary seat. But this is a good thing that they got approached.
Karin quickly set her soup aside, thankfully already all devoured and quickly took out her D-Nexus. There was a dial up or a few seconds before someone answered on the other side.
"Sup? Yeah, this is me, alright. You sounds sleepy, are you OK? ...Kay, then, are you busy? Well, it's kinda urgent, like VVIP sort of business... No, not emergency, just urgent. So basically, there's someone here from Deeplane Council. She said she wanted to meet up to discuss partnership with us. Think you can reserve a spot or anything? Mmmm, kay sounds good. Kay, I'll ask her."
Karin lowered the D-Nexus down and looked at Amelie. "So the leader gave you two choices for the meantime... first is to either meet him in two hours, or second: stay in our hotel for the day and let's talk business tomorrow. Either way, which one do you prefer?"

"That seems like a pretty ambitious project." Amy piped in. Indeed, a safe passage between the various settlements and Northern Prominence and Ys seemed like something that would help a lot with logistics, and general travel safety. That was pretty nice. "Thus far, it seems like you've traced a very robust plan on how to deal with the area's natural hazards. Definitely something I can appreciate."
All things considered, it seemed like the team's members were very involved with the whole endeavor succeeding; that level of compromise was definitely worthy of praise. Finding people willing to go those lengths was as rare as it came nowadays. But it wasn't like she could dwell on those thoughts for long, anyway. The name behind the organization seemed to be rather simple, yet carried a strong message behind it. "Bond, huh. That's an interesting one! I like it. I guess I could change my pronunciation when referring to you all."
What Amy didn't expect, however, was how much importance was given to her status as a member of another team. VVIP, really? That was really flattering. The conclusion of that short conversation, even if a bit of an eyebrow-raiser, was satisfying enough. Not quite according to the plan, but at least things were going rather swimmingly.
"I don't mind either outcome, to be honest. I've already been imposing to you, so I'd feel kinda bad if I kept on doing that." She answered rather truthfully. "If your leader is tired, I'd let him rest; running this place seems rather exhausting."
Most importantly, she wasn't really in a hurry and didn't mind waiting; for once, the brunette didn't have any urgent business to take care of, and both Akemi and Katherine were probably more than capable of taking care of the construction crews while she was away. "If I absolutely have to state my preference, though? The sooner the better. But it's not something that I prefer by a lot."

"It is, but that's what it takes for our name to be well known in the north. We want our name to be looked up as positive influence in this Digital World. Humans unfortunately was not seen positively by denizen of Digital World... well, I know some looks up to us, but... there are also more Digimons that think that we're overly meddling with their business... So we hope by showing that we're not all bad, it also will reduce hate attacks against humans," Karin answered. "...Well I pretty much just quoted my boyfriend. He's the one who think of that. I'm a newbie pretty much. Just started two months ago."
So Amelie want it to be sooner than later. "Alright, got it... so hey," Karin lifted her D-Nexus again to her ear "the lady said she prefer it to be in two hours. You should probably take a nap for a bit... Well yeah I'll wake you up when it's near the time. Just take a nap for now, alright? Seriously... You got to hire more staff sometimes..."
And the call ended. "...Well, I guess that's what we got for being pretty much the ruler of an entire city," Karin commented offhandedly. "Anyway, we're almost here..."
And true enough, the flute of the train whistled. The sound of blizzard no longer heard... and in turn, what greeted the two next is sight of blue city, thriving with Digimons and Human alike. The city is inside a mountain... except it's not quite one. There's an opening above, where the sky can be seen, but it's currently buffeted by blizzard of course. But, the barrier of the city prevented most of the snow and wind to enter in... and even if they do, their force reduced to significant amount, where people can easily came out from their house with warm clothes.
Soon, the train moved toward an underground railway, heading toward the the bottom part of a station, reminiscent of grand central station.
"...Well, then, we're here. Would you like me to guide you to hotel that we booked you to? Or would you like to just travel at your leisure?" Karin asked.

"I can imagine there being other ways to make your name known in any given tract of land." Was Amelie's somewhat swift response to Karin's words. "But, just as you have said, this is probably the best way to leave a positive impact in the annals of the Digital World. I can't blame digimons believing that we are pretty much invasive species in their lands; some humans have dealt a lot of damage to this place, yet... I think the potential for us to make this a better place nigh-limitless. I think that pinning a whole species as beneficial or harmful is a mistake, to be honest. Especially when digimons themselves exhibit that same duality."
There were many ways to do that, even though the brunette wouldn't really think about those for long; they weren't really relevant in the situation at hand, in all honesty. In any case! "Your boyfriend seems like the thoughtful kind. I kinda like him already; it takes enormous levels of temperance and self-discipline to be at the forefront of a fight against prejudice and violence, especially when all you want to do is the good thing."
Karin herself looked like a pretty diligent girl herself; her station seemed to not be a product of position alone, but of merit as well. That was always something good to see. And genuine care for the leader, whose identity as said boyfriend wasn't really hard to guess. Kinda romantic, all things considered.
"Understaffed, huh? Sorry for eavesdropping. I figured that getting help for a project of the proportions this one has wouldn't be super hard. Especially when it benefits everyone. But yeah, I can imagine ruling a city to be pretty exhausting." Not exactly what mattered at the moment, though! After the train whistled their arrival, the duo found themselves at the feet of Ys. The sight? Nothing short of breathtaking, in all honesty. This was precisely what Amy had been looking for; it was kinda obvious, but the excitement in her face kinda made her look like a small child.
"I mean, if you want to stick around, be my guest! I don't want to impose, so feel free to be on your way if you have other things to do." In what seemed a pretty obvious contradiction, she added right after. "Oh, by the way. Does the name Asher Callum ring a bell? A guy that's slightly shorter than me and has orange hair. He told me of somebody with your same name, but since it's not precisely an obscure name, it never hurts to ask."

"I guess this oversimplify it, but I think it's quite logical... basically, it's 'Us vs Them' mentality. Do people care that much toward what you do to your own land versus a foreigner doing what they want in some other people's land? It's more about that I feel... Like in the Golden Week... Didn't DATS get very uppity about the situations that caused because some Digimons appeared and creates chaos?" Karin rhetorically asked.
A thoughtful kind huh... "I guess he is. He normally hates assuming leadership stuff. I told him he's good for it, but he said 'nah, I'm not, I'm just... someone who's content just being a smalltime leader..." ...but as things gone on and on, the more he feel he have to lead... so here he is, leading all of us. He feel that we should try to not depend on him so much though... so that's what I'm doing. Trying to find my role in this all. He's torn between to be diplomat or to pursue his desired career as a historian, pretty much."
Rather than understaffed, it's more that they unable to find enough people they can trust for very sensitive matters. Then again, the city probably would immediately banish them if they try to spy... which honestly, a neat thing, but Yuuki prefers to promote people after they showed that they have the caliber for it, rather than hiring them immediately for the job. But she'll decide to not comment that.
The name... only made Karin tilt her head. "...No, doesn't ring any bell, sorry. Although for some unexplained reason I feel a bit of annoyance... I wonder why... Anyway, if you think it's up to me, then my suggestion is to leave your car in the station's service area, then we can probably take some rental vehicle to sightsee... or something like that. I don't have much to do at the moment, plus... you're a VVIP guest, so I feel it's only natural for you to be chaperoned, or something like that."

That was pretty much it. Amelie herself wouldn't have been able to surmise it better, even if he tried. "Pretty much; didn't know that you were there when the events of the Golden Week transpired. Take you weren't in Miyashita? Or maybe your teammates were there and you got a report from them? In either case, I can say that was a very mystifying situation, all things considered. I'm glad things were mostly kept under control on my side, though. And I hope that Digimon knowledge doesn't become widely available to the general public as well. That's a can of worms I hope stays closed for a while."
The leader's position seemed to be a pretty complex one, all things considered; more like somebody who had actively wished for that position, it seemed like he had been... basically thrust into it, which seemed to be not quite optimal, yet something that was working out well. What was surprising? Probably not, all things considered.
"Centralizing power is probably not the best of ideas, anyway. Delegating is something that not everyone wants, but... I think that it becomes necessary once a certain size is attained, right? I think that his two possible choices are good enough, even if one significantly more linked to the team than the other one. Do you think there's a necessity of a full-time diplomat, though? Maybe I'm a newbie to the scene, but there aren't a lot of organizations or states that are important enough to require such a role. Or, at least that's what I feel. There's probably three to five big organizations, then four to five independent cities and... nothing else, really? Maybe something that will be needed in the future, but right now I don't know."
Then again, Karin probably wasn't very versed on the topic, so trying to discuss it to a length was unbecoming. And good thing, 9t seemed like she wasn't that Karin! Otherwise, Amy would've been quite puzzled. At least thus far, she had been nothing like Asher had described. "Beats me. The name's a bit weird, but it's not like I'm gonna pick on that, despite the fact that it has a biblical background and yet manages to kinda sound like 'ashtray'." She replied with a smirk. Back to what mattered. "The whole VVIP thing sounds really flattering, but it's not like I'm gonna reject it if you keep on insisting on it. And, if you want to show me the place, I'd be very thankful! There's not a lot for me to do until the time for the appointment comes, so... I wouldn't mind seeing the sights."
The brunette made a bit of a pause before adding. "Oh, by the way! Sorry if I'm being too nosy, but... are you a tamer? I've never seen your digivice model ever before, and I have yet to meet your digimon partner, so... that kinda got me a bit curious!"
Was that rude? Amy wasn't sure, but that question had been nagging at her for a while already.
