It was a pleasant Sunday in the human world. School had started back up but Rei was well on top of her home work. Once again, it was another day that her mother was taking at work and her brother was off somewhere goofing off. She tried to look for him, but had no luck outside of the surrounding areas of the apartment complex in Central Shibuya. Luckily, she was allowed to talk around and go where she wanted so long as she used the train and kept her cellphone on hand. It was moments like this she wasn't sure if she was allowed the freedom to do what she wanted, or that she was neglected.
That was what she would of felt if not for the company she had from her hyper-active happy hopping companion.
She was now among the parts of the Shibuki forest. While a rather rural part of the city, a place left untouched to allow a more park-like atmosphere, it had also encompassed a variety of people to enrich the area. There were roads for people to walk through, a botanical garden deeper in-- and elsewhere in the forest were old shrines and temples often used to show respect to the spirits. Rei loved coming there, feeling more relaxed and able to explore-- and let her imagination wonder. She used to love the idea of finding other worlds in the imagination of the parks.
It was only recently did she learn that such a different world was real. But she had yet to find a way there yet.
She now sat on a bench, now luckily clear of anyone nearby close enough. THe moment the coast was clear... her 'backpack' came alive she had seated on the bench.
The yellow creature's long arm-like ears stretched and so did his actual ones, resembling like that of a giant weird rabbit. He wore a little vest and jeans, with sneaker that had speakers built into them. At glance, he looked like some strange little pop-culture plush or backpack. In reality, he was a Digimon.
"So, Rei," Musimon chirped as he hopped off the bench. "What do you wanna do? I never been to this part of the city before. It sounds a bit too quiet for my taste though." the music loving Digimon said as he looked around, seeing the rather rural nature.
"Maybe... but no one will easily bother us here," Rei said as she looked at the forest, the sunlight shining through the trees like stain-glass windows. "Anyway... there is music here from the birds and animals too. But at least here, you can play around to your heart's content."
Musimon gave a giddy shiver as he hopped up and down. "You should enjoy yourself too, Rei-chan! You work so hard for everyone at home. "
"Don't worry. I am," she said with a reassuring smile.
Little did she know her small outing would turn into a big adventure as a digital signal would soon make itself known in the depths of the woods...

Being a squatter in the human world wasn't as hard as Bell thought it would be, initially. Even if she only had a tenuous relationship with Carlos and his two partner Digimon, Bell was delighted to find a potential alternative in Shibuki forest. Thick leaves, nice shadows, decent sunlight, and the ability to blend in with the foliage around her?
This would work for her, and at least give her the chance to get some natural light! That was how the Floramon found herself here on these warm, pleasant afternoons, as the plant found herself napping in a deep enough clearing, feeling the warmth of the sun against her back. By accident, she kept her presence low enough that Rei would sit down on a bench just alongside the path, and not even notice that someone was there.
... Granted, Bell didn't notice her either. She eventually stirred with a yawn, climbing back up to her feet, feeling a twitch as the sound of two people nearby caused her to swear under her breath. Seriously, there had to be a human out here?
"Of all my luck..." She chanced a glance through the bushes towards the main trail, catching sight of Rei and her... partner Digimon? Alright, cool, she could relax a little. But for the moment, she kept her voice down, and just gauged the situation.
She's what, ten? Her parents are probably just around the corner or something.

"Anyway, it beats being stuck in the house all day... If mom had her way I would never go out when I am not at school," she said, though her small fading as she recalled why she would go out on her own. Ever since her father's passing, she became a workaholic and choose to work hard to provide for her and her brother. She had more of relation with her brother than anyone else... which was strained enough as it was. She felt embarrassed how one time he was brought home by the police for causing trouble. She was the only one home to handle it.
She shook the bad memory away, now being a time for fun with her Digimon Partner. She had not met others who knew about Digimon, and she was still new to it all. She didn't even know what her Digivice was really for, save for a fun keepsake now secure around her neck under her shirt.
"Well, at least we can enjoy the sunny day. We should of brought a picnick and... " Musimon started but Rei just laughed.
"You and food, Musimon," she replied.
Musimon's ears went up as if offended, but he couldn't hide the smirk on his face. "Only cause your food is so goooooood!" he pratically sang-- adding a twinkly magical sound with his music powers for sound effects.
Bweee... Bweee... Bweee....
Musimon stopped at the sound of the beeping. At first, Rei thought it was one of Musimon's silly soundeffects he liked to do to liven a mood-- but he looked just as confused. "Um, is that you?" she asked.
"Nope. I left my cellphone in my other pants," he somewhat added-- though he didn't have a cellphone or other pants.
Realizing it, Rei reached for the cord around her neck and pulled it out. She revealed a yellow-colored D-Power. As she held it, a holographic screen appeared, revealing a compass like device. "Musimon, what is this?" she asked.
The rabbit Digimon hopped up on the bench and to the top to look at the screen. "Not sure. It doesn't seem to be a Digimon. " he asked, also clueless.

Alright... alright, good, they don't know I'm here.
At that much, Bell could give a sign of relief. The Musimon hadn't picked up on Bell's data signal, and so long as she didn't try and use any techniques - not that she would have to begin with - it was likely that she could just turn around, sneak back to Carlos' place, and not have to worry about being discovered by this pair. For now, Bell just decided to keep an eye on them, both the musical Digimon and his young, optimistic-sounding partner.
Such an idealistic pair - hm? Hearing that beep, the Floramon receded back into the foliage, cursing as she listened in. Did that Digivice track her signal? The pair seemed confused about it - and, curiously, Musimon mentioned that he didn't think that it was a Digimon. Though, it also sounded like neither of them knew what was going on. It was entirely possible that the arrow pointed right to her, and who knew how those two would react at the sight of a 'wild' Digimon?
Do I make myself known, or do I wait? Ugh... going in and asking what's up might not be good either. If she was just going to play it safe, leaving was best...
... But what if that Digivice was pointing to something else? Bell bit her lip, and forced a smile on her face. Right - hands off to the side, she'd step out of the woods: "Eheh... you sure its not pointing at me?"
The Floramon tried to sound apologetic as possible. "I mean, if it is, don't mind it. I'm just out getting some sun, ya'know?"

Just as the two were deciding what to do, the pair's desire for adventure willing them to possibly investigate-- the sound of the unknown Digimon appeared behind them. The sound of the voice startled Rei as she let out a high-tone girlish shout and jumped out from the bench. Musimon also hopped off, hearing the voice-- and Rei's cry ringing a bit in his sensitive ears.
The rabbit thought he heard some rustling but he had brushed it off like a bird or squirrel nearby. Rei clung to her Digivice close to her chest as she spun around and soon saw the appearance of the flower-looking Digimon. Rei looked in a mix of wonder and surprise, seeing a walking, talking plant waddle up to them like this. As they got over the initial shock, they soon saw the plant continue talking-- saying something that they hoped it wasn't her?
Luckily for the Floramon-- it wasn't. The compass arrow was pointing north from there into the woods and up the hills.
"Who are you, Miss Flower-child?" Musimon asked, using a little hippie reference to the flower Digimon.
Rei looked at her Digivice-- and soon saw a new profile open up. "Floramon... A rookie data Digimon. A prideful plant Digimon that seems to resemble a lizard?" she read aloud at the loose data she got before the screen shrunk away.
Musimon was still on guard, but Rei was a bit more trusting. "Oh, wow. Sorry for being startled... you look beautiful. Are there another plant Digimon like you here? If I didn't know better, I would have thought you were a fairy or something."
Rei was one who loved her stories-- on first meeting, she thought Musimon was some kind of gremlin.
Though distracted by the lovely looking flower Digimon, Musimon looked between them, somewhat bothered. "What am I, chop-liver?" he mildly joked, feeling a bit jealous.
Rei gave a soft laugh as she realized her mistake. Still, Floramon was a beautiful Digimon, where Musimon was cute and cheerful. Still, Rei tried hard to rein in her natural curiousity and impulsive attraction to the flower. "Um, no . It wasn't related to you, I don't think. But now that you are here... who are you? Are you lost or do you need any help?" Rei asked.

Like clockwork.
Arms held out to her side, a nervous chuckle, a small smile on her face. Even with Rei's initial shock, it didn't take long for the young tamer to trust that the Floramon wasn't trying to attack them. So even if she was the target of the signal, Bell could be on her merry way without having these two thinking that some bloodthirsty Digimon was on the loose.
It didn't end up being the case, but that was still a plus! She blinked a bit at that 'flower-child' comment, clearing her throat before responding. "I'm, um, Bell." Bell the Floramon, as Rei would soon find out. And she even complimented the plant's appearance! She gave a chuckle, hiding her mouth behind one of her hands. "Well, if this was 'our side' the woods would be full of plant Digimon like me, but as far as I can tell I'm the only one around." Her pose quickly turned more relaxed, the plant Digimon now curious as to what was going on here.
Did Bell need help? "I wouldn't say I'm lost. This is just the closest bit of greenery to the station, far off as that is, so I spend quite a bit of time here. Honestly, I was just worried that your Digivice was going to sniff me out by accident." She gave a sigh, shaking her head. "But it looks like its hooked onto something else, then? I'm clearly the closest foreign Digimon, after all..."

The floramon introduced herself as Bell, like the children's story. Rei's features lit up at the enchanted theme going on around here, but tried to contain her enthusiasm. She was young, but not stupid... still before then she wouldn't have believed in digital monsters either. What else could be real? She further explained she was the only Floramon she knew of around here. Needless to say the signal had nothing to do with her. Neither Rei or Musimon were aware what the Digivice was detecting. But it was only one way to find out.
"Well, we are sorry for disturbing you, Ms. Bell," Rei said kindly as she bowed to her in respect. "But maybe you can help. I don't know if your familiar with tamers or not, but I'm very new to it and don't know anyone. Do you know how this thing works and what it could be reacting to?" she asked.
"Rei!" Musimon jumped up, a cautious look on his face. "Don't go offering to show your Digivice to total strangers! "
Rei blinked at her partner, but still felt comfortable around the flower. "Come on Musimon. It is totally useless to anyone else right? You said it yourself-- it only works for me. Besides, look at her? Do you really think she would mean us any harm? If she wanted to hurt us, she could have by now."
Musimon had a worried look on his rabbit-like face. Rei was one of the sweetest humans he ever met-- being he only knew a handful of humans at Rei's side exclusively. But even he knew that digimon, just like humans, could do less than honorable deeds. He would hate to see Rei brokenhearted to be such a victim. That being said, he kept an eye on the flower Digimon. Like most tamer's Digimon-- they were protective of their human partners.
Rei approached the flower and with the Digivice cord still around her neck, she offered to show her the Digivice.
A blush came over her face as well. "Um... if you don't mind... may I have a sniff of you? I know it sounds strange but I am curious if you smell as nice as a real flower?" she asked.
Either out of distrust-- or how Musimon got jealous when Rei fawned over other Digimon. "She may be a flower, but something stinks..." he said to himself.

"Oh, no worries, miss." Bell kept a polite tone and a smile on her face, quickly warming up to the tamer (now that she knew she wasn't going to freak out at the sight of a Digimon!). The question that followed made the flower tilt her head, blinking at the Musimon's harsh reaction.
Granted, he had a point. "She just wants me to look at it, right? I won't touch it." Case in point, she folded her arms behind her back, and if Rei would allow she'd step up and look towards the device. Indeed, that arrow was pointing somewhere. though it would be difficult to tell where at a moment's notice.
... If she wasn't a scientist. North-north-east, ten degrees off the margin. And if its not pointing to me... then this has to either be an armor egg or a twin!
Bell put the odds at about 90-10 towards an armor egg, and honestly, what luck! If these two didn't pursue the signal, she could convert the reading in her head and find out exactly where it was (or, close enough that she'd be able to pick out its data signal, anyway). And, well, wouldn't that be helpful to help Rei with it?
"Mm... sorry, I don't know. It looks like you just bumped open a compass setting by accident or something."
She lied through her teeth - but at the same time, didn't do anything else with the Digivice! Letting Rei take full hold of it, Bell blinked at the next question, and with a shrug, she closed the flower of one of her hands, and offered it to Rei. "Just be careful, its a bit more 'natural' than what you might be used to."
And lo, Bell was right! Even closed, the petals of that flower betrayed a sickly sweet scent underneath, easily pushing past 'pleasant' and into 'overwhelming'. Bell would give an apologetic smile after that, pulling back a moment later. "Unlike house plants, our flowers are more of a defensive sort. They, um, aren't supposed to smell nice."

Rei smelted the overwhelming strong aroma, like cinammon and orange in excess-- but stronger that made her back off. "Well, that's fresh. But thank you Miss Floramon." she said as she backed away.
The 'compass function' seemed to be just that according to the little Floramon. She didn't APPEAR to be lying to her, but only so much was known. Musimon still had a grumpy guarded look on his face as he joined Rei's side. All to comfortable climbing onto his partner's back-- Musimon hopped up with his hand-ears and crawled up Rei till he was resting on her shoulders-- as light as any stuffed toy. He rested his head on top of her hat-covered nogin to look at the Digivice in her hand. Not once did she dislodge him.
"Well... it IS pointing north... maybe, but why would the Digivice even have a compass. There is no polls in the Digi-world," he mentioned.
"What else could it be?" Rei asked, her eyes glanced up to look at her partner.
"I say we go exploring and see where it leads us," Musimon suggested, then gave a soft little 'adventure' chime with his musical powers. "Unless, Miss Flower-power has anything she like to add?" Rei caught on to the sarcastic tone and now glared up at him. "Musimon, be nice. Why do you think she is mean? IF she was a bad Digimon, she would of attacked or something like the others. I'm sure we can trust her. Besides, treat people the way you want to be treated." Rei said with a kind smile.
She was so pure and sweet. If there was any malice or deceit in the Floramon, she would have to be a real sociopath to not feel a twinge of guilt at her.
"Why don't we all go take a look. just to be sure," she offered.

"Oh, you're welcome... but don't try and sniff any strange Digimon you meet, alright?"
Honestly, that was a bit of advice that the Floramon never thought she had to say, but here she was. It seemed that her explanation of a compass was at least seen as reasonable - and heck, even if the Floramon was proven wrong, her guess was at least decent enough to be passable!
Though, for some reason, the Musimon seemed suspect about the whole idea. The tinge of sarcasm in his voice was easily picked up on the Floramon, but the recognition didn't show up on her face. "Oh, don't worry, he's just being protective. Far as I can tell, he's doin' a decent job at it." Still, this did prove a little problematic to the Floramon.
It would look weird, after all, if she simply begged her not to follow the arrow. So, she did the next best thing:
"Yeah, I can tag along. If it does prove to be something dangerous, well, the more hands the better!"

"A fun adventure in my own backyard. So exciting!" she said with a chipper tone.
Musimon knew Rei was new as a tamer, as was he a partner Digimon. Still, he grumbled at Floramon's mention of doing a 'decent' job. He was not happy of the suspicious flower creature.
As Rei led into the forest, he kept distance between the Flower and Rei, trying to make sure nothing bad would happen to Rei. All the while, she scaled up roots, rocks and grass as she climbed up a hilltop, following the arrow of her digivice's holocompass. As they climbed, the radar began to beep at a steadily increasing tempo. A signal they were getting closer and closer.
"It's really nice to have you with us Floramon. It's just been me and Musimon for a while. I'm not really used to being around Digimon just yet." Rei shared to the flower. "So far I just been trying hard to keep him a secret from my family."
Rei tried to keep focus on the goal-- because if she had to go home too soon she would either have to deal with her grumpy brother, or an empty house. Something she didn't really care for at the moment. Despite her cheerful disposition and blind kindness...
... Rei was a person who had her fair share of sadness for an 11 year old.
As they progressed, they soon came to an odd choice to find a Digimental Egg...A temple located at the top of the forest hill. It was an oriental building, mostly left for worship and care for shintoism. However, not a soul was around and it didn't look well kept, as if it was left a long time ago.
"A shrine?" Rei asked, unsure why the Digivice led them here. "What exactly could be hidden here?"
Musimon looked over Rei's shoulder at the building. "Dunno. Strange place to find anything digital. Then again... this is Tokyo. Much stranger than the Digi-World, and that is saying something." he said in a silly tone.

If only she could throw off that Musimon.
After all, Bell had Rei on the hook like a string on her pinky finger! A smile on her face, a friendly and innocent tone, and a helpful and cheery disposition was all she had to do to keep the tamer in good spirits - but the musical Digimon remained cautious, going as far to put himself between the Floramon and the tamer. It made Bell follow at somewhat of a distance, but not too far back. She knew how to handle herself in the woods after all!
"Mm? Heh, glad to be around you, too. I don't really get a chance to talk to a lot of people around here, having to stay hidden and all..." She shook her head, putting that thought out of her head. "But, yeah, its nice to have someone you can discuss stuff with that 'gets' the Digimon stuff."
She chuckled, and at that point, the three would come to the top of the hill, and find an old, run down Japanese shrine. The Floramon was curious, stepping forward to check an old, run down well, with ivy grown around the sides. "Really, your guess is as good as mine... all I can really say is that this place is old. The woods have already started to reclaim it."

Rei at first seemed apprehensive to go on into a bad shrine. She had been to shrines, mostly to honor her father and other ancestors and spirits. Still, the compass pointed true to the inside of the building. She could only hope she didn't offend anyone or anything inside it. "Well, I suppose there is no harm to go in and check. Let's just be polite and respectful of the shrine. It is important and bad luck to disturb the place," she said as she ventured forward.
"Y-you don't mean haunted, do you?" Musimon said with a hint of fright-- but soon saw her push the doors open. "Wait-- Rei Chan!" he squeaked but followed regardless.
The inside was dark, only lightly lit from holes from the outside as many roots and wear had left openings into the temple. Yet, many shrines were there and Rei took the liberty to bow to them in respect with a small 'sorry' for trespassing. One at the front door, one in the hall and one in a small room. All the while, she followed the radar, but the winding hall still led them a bit of a walk through the abandoned building.
"Uh... these spirits aren't going to haunt us, will they?" Musimon said, slightly scared.
Rei just smiled, actually liking things paranormal. "Naw. NOt those kinds of spirits unless you do something very bad to this place. If I had an apple I'd leave it for them. Honestly what I more likely imagine seeing her are ninjas." she said with a hint of mischief.
As suspected, Musimon's mood eases and grew excited to the word. "Wha? Ninjas? Really?" he asked.
"Oh, yeah. They would train in places like these all the time," she said, knowing that Musimon now hooked on pop culture loved the idea of ninjas.
It was then that Rei soon saw another shrine in a bigger room. Seeing it and also the radar pointing in that general direction-- she thought it be worth going in. "This could be it but... its a dead-end room..." she said as she walked into the room, deep enough to bow before the shrine at the far end.
Little did she know the sliding door she had passed had a lock on it-- meant to lock things in too. That would be bad... if Floramon wanted to act.
And unfortunately, Musimon lured into... wanting to pay his respects like Rei did and feeling more eager at the talk of ninjas.
Just what would happen now?

No harm to check, indeed!
Shrine or not, to the Floramon, this was just a dilapidated old building - one that actually managed to give the Musimon the spooks! Rather than antagonize him further, the plant would just give a smile as Rei tried to bring his spirits up, ironically distracting him from the idea of spirits in the first place. Aside from that, they only had a small arrow to follow, and it wasn't even clear if the spirit was in the shrine at all, or in some place further beyond it.
A simple compass arrow, after all, wasn't a good meter for distance! "Heh, I don't know a lot about ninja on this side. Very few Digimon fit that mold, but there are a couple..."
Small talk was about all that she could offer, aside from checking in the occasional empty room. Eventually, they would come across a more prominent shrine - and the Floramon's action here would depend on what she could sense. If there was a data signal coming from the shrine in the center of the room, she'd follow right along inside, and pretend to still be along for the ride.
If she couldn't sense anything in the room, though? She'd take a step back, slowly close the door so as to not make a sound, and click the lock shut, before stepping off to circle right on around, and check the building further in.
Opportunity knocked, after all!

Rei clapped her hands in prayer as Musimon did the same-- but soon followed by the click of the door. By the time they finished they saw the door closed. "H-hey!" Musimon called as he went for the door. Rei looked concerned too as Musimon went for the door-- but it wouldn't budge. "Hello?! Floramon? Open up!" He knocked again but no answer. Now Musimon got angry as he jumped up and down. "Floramon-- you rotten weed! Get your veggie butt back here!"
As he fumed a bit, Rei looked a bit stunned and sad. Her expression looked disappointed and she was quiet for a bit. "Maybe... maybe she just closed it by accident?" she asked.
Musimon turned around a disapproved look on his face. His little hands were on his waist while his 'hand ears' were folded. This made Rei look more disappointed, realizing her error.
"I'm sorry Musimon. YOu were right... but I thought... I thought we could be friends.." she said, tears forming at her eyes a little bit. She tried hard not to cry. God knew she had enough to do, "But I just hoped that..."
"No, Rei... Don't be sorry," Musimon said, causing her to look to him. "This is not your fault. I mean, yes, I did warn you to be on your guard but-- you wanted to make a new friend. It's who you are."
Rei looked away, still hurt. "Yeah, but..." She said, trying to keep calm. "Why would she do this? I know we just met but why would anyone treat others like this?"
Musimon tried to give her a reassuring smile. "Rei... you are a kind and nice person. You always are true to yourself and your feelings. If they can't appreciate that, then they can go push daisies. Not that grim but-- you get my meaning." Musimon replied, trying to be creative to talk down the Floramon.
Rei calmed down, wiping away a stray tear.
"We both made mistakes, but you care about others. If they take advantage, its their mistake too." Musimon said as he too calmed down. "Now, lets try to get the heck out of here. I don't wanna be here if those spirits here get mad."
"I told you, there are no ghosts here, Musimon..." Rei sighed as he tried to nudge the sliding door.
