Raiders of the Ancient City (B-Rank mission Karin, Amelie)

The ferocious beast charged against Siftermon, the dinosaur was so blind in his rampage that didn't notice what the spirit user was doing, if anything he move faster to try and reach his objective before it gets a second to try and dodge, what he didn't realize is that was exactly what Amelie wanted and just some seconds before impact Tyrannomon would see himself as the objective he was charging, by that moment it was too late and the attack connected
Unlike Siftermon the big red dinosaur was barely pushed away but the plan of Amelie seemed to work as Tyrannomon took some minutes holding his head in pain, minutes that Freya took advantage to send roots underneath the dinosaur and entangle him, this of course anger the digimon even more even if he felt his strength draining he still could fight
A red aura surrounded Tyrannomon he let out another roar and bits of data start flowing from the sand to his mouth where a sphere of fire started charging, soon that red aura also move into the fire ball giving it a more intense look, whatever this was it wasn't a regular fire ball that was for sure, soon the transformation the dinosaur suffer some minutes before disappear and he looked again like a normal Tyrannomon, the fire ball just grew bigger and bigger.
Finally Tyrannomon release the sphere of fire that turn into a blast of scorching flames that aim to burn everything in front of him, Datamon quickly raised its hands to create a small energy shield to protect the humans, but what would the ones fighting do? Certainly with all the power they have drain the attack shouldn't be too dangerous yet at the same time it looked like something you wouldn't like to be hit with

For now, things were going fairly well. Or at least that much would Amelie say—if she could speak, that is. The fight with the Tyrannomon was going more or less as they expected, and, unless funny shenanigans were involved somehow, would probably end up in an easy victory for the team with the most numbers and coordination. However, that didn't mean she could afford the luxury of underestimating her opponent or going easy on him. There was a human around, and if they messed up, quite a bit of harm could come her way. The massive fireball that the dinosaur was amassing at the moment? A perfect example of how things could turn awry from one moment to the next if they didn't take this seriously. Siftermon made sure that Dr. Tomoe was at a safe distance from the attack before creating some distance between itself and the attacker. It was only then when a shield made out of pure light manifested ahead of her, ready to absorb the fireball's impact. Would that be enough to protect the aberration and Freya from the attack? With any luck, it would. Regardless of the result of that attack, a torrent of fire would be unleashed right afterward in the digimon's direction. The natural followup, right? With any luck, the Tyrannomon would be a little exhausted after that attack, and an easy target even for something that wasn't quite properly aimed, given how quickly it was dispensed after the block. At least right now, Amy thought that acting quickly was more important than acting precisely. Had to capitalize on their advantage, right?

Hmmm, tricky, if that's even the right word. The Tyranomon is still focusing itself on Amelie, and honestly her firepower is lacking. Really lacking. Unfortunately, the same goes with her. She's not sure what she can do in this situation other than to look for an opening. She can heal Amelie right away, but only if she eat her fruit. She hope Amelie understood if she wanted to be healed, she should take the fruit while it's available...
Or better, Freya immediately plucked the fruit and tossed it at Amelie. They have fought together, so she hopefully understood what is the meaning of this fruit...
While Amelie hopefully know what to do with it, she's not about to just sit tight. With her finally caught up to Amelie and the Tyranomon's position, the Woodmon proceeds to turn her twiglike branch into something akin to normal Woodmon's arm. It's thick and powerful, but certainly carried no attribute at all to it. With much effort, she began clobbering the Tyranomon, specifically on the head and the stomach.
Let's see if you want to use that fire breath once again, huh? The moment you do, I'll smack you harder, just you wait. Frankly, she's not used fighting in plant form. She's honestly envious of Ayaka now... Kudos to her old friend for being able to fight in plant form like this.

Well, that was his strongest attack and should be enough to take down the intruders or so he thought, the second the dinosaur rise his view to see what remained of the invaders the red digimon saw part of his huge fire ball coming back at him thanks to Siftermon mirror shield.
Tyrannomon had no time to react and the fire ball hit him directly, still the dinosaur endure it and stood up getting ready to attack again but as soon as the mirror shield went down Siftermon release another fire ball against him, by this point after putting all his strength in the attack and just recuperating from the reflected attack Tyrannomon was getting exhausted and didn't had the agility to dodge out of the way, yet even with Siftermon attack the dinosaur refuse to fall, he was still doing his best to stand still even if it was apparent that his legs were shaking and could give in in any second.
The most insulting thing that could happen to him tho was the Woodmon out right walking towards him and start pummeling in the head with her arms like a club, it felt as if it was hitting his pride as welñ, here was this digimon that didn't belong on the desert just walking up and smacking him on the head, taunting him to use his fire breath again, well if fire is what she wants that's what she's going to get.
Tyrannomon roared and put all his weight into pushing and pinning the Woodmon into the sand and then raise one of his claw that burst into flames, then drive it down trying to stab Freya, he was going to make sure the tree wouldn't do something as foolish as to hit him a close range again!

Things were going very smoothly, seemingly! With Freya's timely assistance, Siftermon was able to adequately react to the Tyrannomon's previous strike, and now, the duo was on the offensive. It also helped that Freya's fruit helped to restore part of the damage the aberration had sustained at the start of the fight. To say that they were firmly on the lead wasn't an arrogant statement to make at the moment. But that didn't mean they could sleep on that momentary victory, could they? While the Tyrannomon was too preoccupied handling Freya's advances, Siftermon began to approach the dinosaur. Its intent? the first attack had worked out just fine, so repeating it was probably the best course of action. Thus, the abomination's tendrils began to flare up as it approached the Tyrannomon through its flank, intending to stab it and then release blazes akin to the ones of the previous attack. Now, Amelie didn't feel great regarding what had to be done in case the dinosaur didn't just give up and leave quietly, but was there anything else that could be done about the situation? If the Tyrannomon insisted on fighting when the situation was like this... well, not a lot could be said about that. What needed to happen would happen.

Wrong move. The moment the fire claw hits Freya, she definitely sat ablaze. However, thanks to her passive [Voice of the Old World], it doesn't harm Freya as much. This, however, opens to another sort of pandora box. Amidst of fire, the previously scary looking Woodmon...
...Has stepped into SCARIER looking with its mouth and eyes literally on fire. Its entire body is pretty much spitting out fire like some wickerman... which happened to be the name of the passive. Elemental Wickerman. Freya, perhaps in her attempt to scare the opponent, grinned wide. She stepped back a bit, making sure that Amelie won't get hit in the crossfire...
She didn't stop there however. Immediately, she let out a stream of malignant soul from her mouth. Now that she's buffed by the elemental wickerman, her damage should skyrockets some. Her attack will deals 50% extra fire damage against Tyranomon., separate from the soul itself obviously.
Freya [Adult (Woodmon)]
Takes damage from Tyranomon's attack.

Elemental Wickerman Activated
Elemental Wickerman:
Triggered once per battle. If Woodmon is attacked by fire or ice type attack, her attack gains 50% of said elemental bonus. The benefit of this technique stops when Woodmon is doused / frozen (when fiery) or melted (when frozen), and will not gain the same benefit again. Sealing this passive when it's active also cancels it.
Uses
Unhallow Eve (RAM UPGRADE):
Caster-centric AoE. Woodmon releases wandering soul that atacks anyone 20 meter radius near it. If Stigma of Strength is active, spend all remaining duration to increase its strength by 30% each turns. Two turns cooldown.

Things weren't looking too good for Tyrannomon, he expected that once his attack connected the Woodmon would stop, but apparently igniting the tree Digimon only make her stronger, taking a more scary look and having fire come out of her mouth and eyes, the surprise of this sudden change was enough for the red dinosaur to lower his guard and make Freya's next attack connect with ease, weakening the champion digimon even more. To top it all off Tyrannomon lost sight of Siftermon, soon the Spirit User made her presence known by stabbing the back of the red digimon with her tendrils before releasing a blaze of fire, Tyrannomon let out a cry of pain when the attack hit and finally fall, breathing heavily the big digimon try his best to stand up again and keep defending what he believes is his territory, tho soon the echo of a voice was heard "Enough is enough!" A voice that sounded almost divine echoed through the desert "Return to your slumber,Viral, they have prove their worth"If the group take a look to the sky they'd see the image of a humanoid winged canine Tyrannomon stood up once more yet he did not fight, just nodded looking at the Anubimon and leave in direction to the Oasis where the group met "I apologize if our guardian hurt you in some capacity, the Ancient One is extremely cautious towards those who want to enter what's left of our Kingdom" With that said the image of Anubimon disappear from the sky leaving the group to catch their breath after that fight. Finally the researcher and Datamon move closer to Siftermon and Freya to check on them, if they were in any harm the machine digimon could heal them. "You two were wonderful out there! I'm glad you answer my request, if you're hurt tell me the least I can do now is having Datamon heal you" |

Things had gotten a turn for the better, thankfully! It seemed that Freya's and Siftermon's combined efforts had yielded a tactical victory to the two! Thus far, things on that regard were going more than well.
It was only when a new visitor came that the aberration stopped its advance. Given its lack of senses, it remained on its place, and only when it was obvious that the hostilities had ceased was when it went back to its previous form. Amelie caught a glance of the Anubimon's image, moments before it disappeared, but not much more than that. Oh well; she could deal with that.
The brunette stretched her sore limbs a bit while Tomoe and the Datamon approached, then held her palms up, showing that she was more or less fine. "I'm glad that we could fight without any kind of significant damage coming to y'all." She admitted with a sigh. "Unless somebody is willing to put me up to speed, I'll just assume that we emerged victoriously and that we can advance? Because that's how the situation looks at the moment."
Which was to say, a bit hopeful, but hey! Sometimes, appearances didn't deceive. "Shall we advance, then?"

Whew, so they won. Good! This unfortunately means that Freya's passive would still be active. But if it stayed active it certainly would bring problems for up ahead, so immediately, she doused it and spreads her roots. "No, you don't have to bother," Freya answered kindly, despite her look that honestly pretty much just outright terrifying. "As long as I can grab some nutrients from the ground, I'll be fixed up in no time."
Well that aside... "Now that we have cleared the trial of the Tyranomon and all that, what should we do next?" Karin asked to the Nanomon and his human. "I mean, the mission said "danger", but what dangers exactly? Traps? Debrises? Something like that? Or perhaps more Digimon?"
Well, that aside... "I think we won and got the clear to enter," Freya answered after uprooting herself. "So let's proceed I guess!"

What a relief, both girls were fine and unharmed! That means they could keep exploring without losing time resting, tho the woman wouldn't push them if they weren't feeling good, in any case it would be better to explain things to Amelie since seems she doesn't know or remember really what happen, could be a side effect of the spirit evolution? "Oh? Well, Anubimon appear on the sky and ordered the Tyrannomon to stop fighting and rest" Tomoe started explaining "It give us green light to keep exploring, or at least I hope so since he just apologize if Tyrannomon hurt any of you and then disappear" The woman thought for some seconds, was it really OK to move forward and into the ruins of the city? She assumes that would be a yes since they defeated the guardian. "In any case I'd love to explore a little further since we have the time and you two seem to be OK"
"Once again, we thank your brave efforts keeping us save, and if you need me to take care of any injury please say it, your safety is as important as ours" Datamon added looking at both girls With that out of the way the researcher and digimon started their walk into the "city", after some minutes walking soon the group notice the sand beneath their feet changing into a kind of brick road as they enter in the ruins, the "houses" (if you could call them that) were nothing more than rubble, but those that stood the pass of time resemble a small Hut. There were some digimon roaming around the city seemingly going through their daily routines, oddly enough there was only one type of digimon and that was Ghost Digimon, Bakemon! They mostly took a look at the group and a good look to the humans before ignoring them and move on, it was odd to say the least, why would a Tyrannomon guard a place like this? Is Anubimon and the Bakemon all that live in this place? If so why the Bakemon just ignore them? Well not all ghost ignore them, there was one that as soon as it lay eyes on the group float as fast as it could towards them "AJUA! Visitantes! It's been a while since I see new people around" What it looked like a ghost Togemon wearing a poncho and sombrero acknowledge the group, yet while it still took a look at the thumans, it mainly focus on the digimon "What brings a little machine and a scary looking Woodmon to this place?" Asked with big goofy smile on its face |

Amelie nodded at Dr. Tomoe's explanation. Being put up to speed was nice, and at least thus far, it seemed like everything had gone more or less their way. "Oh, okay. That's good. Thanks for the quick recap. If everyone's ready, I think we can advance then."
After making an affirming gesture to the Datamon, the group resolved to advance. They finally reached into a city, and the researchers began to look around while she —and Karin and Freya, hopefully— stood guard in case something suspicious arose from this strange settlement.
Which, in all honesty? Happened. A pretty interestingly-clad Ponchomon made its appearance known, even though its attention seemed to be diverted directly towards the only digimons present at the moment; Freya and the Datamon. Amelie just waved at him while she waited for Freya and Datamon to handle the situation, all while being wary in case anything funny was afoot.
It didn't hurt to be careful when it was the most sensible thing to do, right? Considering they were on a strange land, and that if the digimons were being distracted by some reason or another... it was more or less up to Amy to defend the Dr. and Karin.

What a strange coincidence... two plantlike yet ghastly Digimon... albeit she have to argue that her look at the very moment looked far worse than this Digimon in front of her. Even so, a Ponchomon in the midst of Bakemons? Hmmm, that's... interesting. One could say that Ponchomon might be a subspecies of Bakemon, the same way Soulmon is... albeit Ponchomon definitely more... unique in way more than one.
"Well if you ask me personally," Freya would begin "it's just to accompany my dear clients here. We got permission from Anubimon to explore this place, you see... As for what their business, I think it's best left to my client? I'm not sure that explaining what's their interest would be the best way. I mean it would be boorish of me to put words on their own mouth, doesn't it?"
Meanwhile, Karin tapped Amelie's shoulder, whispering something.
'Do you think there's a possibility of danger around here?' she asked. After all, while it's not an impossibility, there's a great chance that it'll be the case.... but even so she must say if there is a danger right after that gesture from the messenger, that felt like utterly boorish of them...

As the Ponchomon talked to the two digimon the women took the time to draw him in her notebook and kept taking notes about the surroundings, the state of the "houses" the lines of digimoji that some had and the Bakemon around that didn't do much aside of float around and talk to each other completely ignoring the group.
And as much as Ponchomon was doing the same and keeping his focus on Freya and Datamon, he couldn't resist looking at Amy and waving at her back, but as quickly as he made that gesture his focus went back to the digimon, it does show that at least they know they are there just don't acknowledge them, it's was really odd
"Ah si, si, and escort adventure, I love those I use to explore a lot back in the day, now I just roam around and do nothing.... PARA! Anubimon let you inn?" The ghost digimon ask with an expression of shock and surprise
"Yes, these girls fought valiantly to protect me and my friend from the Tyrannomon, and Anubimon stop the fight and let us in"
"We are here with the objective of gather information and explore this ruins to learn more about the old digital world"
The Ponchomon rise one hand to his "chin" and thought silently, it was rather odd to see humans here or digimon that come from the other side of the gate and if Anubimon let them in there must be a reason so... Maybe they could actually help!
"Follow me" The ghostly cactus said as he hold Freya and Datamon's hands and levitate away, Ponchomon took the group out of the main path and into one of the old buildings, most of its furniture were rocks standing as chairs and table, "Mi casa es su casa"
The ghost digimon gave to each one of the group a small glass of water to keep them hydrated in the killer heat of the desert, besides Ponchomon actually prides himself of being a good host! Once everyone was comfortable he went and give a handshake to Amy, Karin and the Dr. apologizing for "ignoring" them back on the streets
"I'm really sorry, but our ruler doesn't like humans so if we see one we need to ignore them to not get in trouble"
"I see, I apologize if we get you in any kind of trouble" Dr. Nakamura said with a small bow "Although Anubimon didn't seem that bad"
"Oh no, Anubimon is just an advisor of the Pharaoh, tho his magic is what keep us here and in a ghostly form"
So the digimon in the ruins aren't truly Bakemon? And ignore the visit of humans because the Pharaoh doesn't like them? Doesn't sound like a good ruler to be honest but then again, Pharaoh in their world weren't nice either, yet all this talk make the eyes of the woman shine in excitement, how many times one has the chance to actually visit a place with a living pharaoh?
"Does the pharaoh lives on a pyramid?"
"Yeah, take a look out of the window" Tho more like a window it looked more like a hole in the wall, but if the girls peek through the hole they'll see the pyramid in the distance "So... I was thinking that since Anubimon let you in, you girl could go and talk to the pharaoh, maybe asking kindly to lift the curse and let us walk through the desert or reborn in the village of beginnings? Pretty please?"
Well, they got here to investigate and gather information, it would be a shame to not visit the pyramid, yet what the Ponchomon asked was a little too much for the Doctor, of course she wants to help but at the same she doubts the Pharaoh would listen to her, specially when they just enter to his domain, and if things go south for some reason she doesn't want to drag Karin, Freya and Amy in this.
"What do you girls think?" The woman ask "Since you are my bodyguards I'd like to ask you how far you want to go, I don't want to drag you into problems or anything"

In all honesty? Amelie didn't know. This place was undoubtedly weird, but, at least at a glance, it didn't look like it was harmful. Which was good, even if appearances could deceive pretty handily. Karin's own words of possible worry were heeded, even if, in the end, the girl could only nod slightly. "It's always a possibility, but I don't think that's... too likely, in all honesty. Let's hope for the best and remain alert."
Luckily, it seemed like any possible misunderstanding was cleared rather promptly, and that now the group were... honored guests of sorts? It was definitely quite the change in the reception, but it wasn't like Amy could complain about it. At all. It seemed like, for now, the plan was to follow him, which is something the humans did, considering that the digimons were already being carried away.
Where they were headed? To a house of sorts, it seemed like a pretty nice place, at least relatively; considering they were in a blistering hot desert, it wasn't half bad. While she received the glass of water and nodded gratefully towards it, the brunette decided to ignore it for the time being as she shook hands with their host.
"Don't worry. That's fine; we're just here to help the Doctor, after all."
The plot managed to thicken quite fast, all things considered. It seemed like most of this place's inhabitants were shackled by the curse of a 'pharaoh', and weren't very pleased with that. "It seems like you have quite the issue in your hands." She commented, a bit pensively. "I personally don't mind undoing whatever holds these digimons prisoners in their after afterlives. As long as Karin and Freya are up to it, so am I."
Seemed like the final decision was Karin's! What would she decide on?

Well, this is a surprise... another one definitely. She's pulled along by the Ponchomon... and he started explaining the situation... interesting, is perhaps the way to call it... Well at least they're given water! Karin returned the handshake although she wasn't sure what's going on exactly... but either way, she looked at Freya who nodded... Looks like the water is safe... so she drink it.
...And the talk seem to revolve around how apparently everyone is trapped and turned into servant or sort?
"Moment, there's too little information at the moment, we're not super good samaritan that would just say 'OK Sure!' to every request without first seeing its contents first..." Karin pointed out "You first said that you're cursed, but 'curse' is not reserved for a good doers... what did you did then? Two... who are the pharaoh? What if the discussion fails then? Because as far I know, an ancient Digimon who fits that bill is not just a mere Digimon, but Ultimate level at it... Pharaohmon.
