A Long Due Visit [Amelie]

Indeed, the Dark Area wasn't the most hospitable place for humans - though Syre had a bit of a comment on that. "Mm... I think its just something that runs in the family, but I don't mind the Dark Area itself that much. Dunno whether its because I'm 'dark' or 'Virus', but the place is honestly a bit relaxing. Well. When its not trying to rip you apart..."
Syre buried that last comment under a cough. At the very least, the city seemed to be going well? "Heh, glad to hear it. Just don't be afraid to give me a call if you need it. I mean, I dragged you out here to help out with work, no fair if you can't do the same." She chuckled, ear flicking as the conversation moved to the Knights.
To that, Syre just gave a shrug. "The Knights are, fortunately-and-unfortunately, full of capable independent 'mons. I think assigning us to specific areas is just something to make sure that we still have presence while we're trying to reorganize. For now, I think that works out for me."
The cat stretched out her back. "Dunno if you've heard or not, but we've - that is, the family, me, dad, and Holly - we've moved up to Snowflake Village, so we aren't crowding out the Library as much anymore. You're free to visit, of course, but it does get cold..."

Well, at least that much was a very good thing for Amy. It'd be awkward if Syre was too bothered by the place that the brunette called her home in the Digital World. "I can see it; that makes me glad, in a sense. Not everyone is a fan of the Dark Area, and that might be an understatement. But yeah, I agree! I can be quite cozy when you get used to it."
A happy nod was given to Syre's offer to help when needed; truth to be told, she wouldn't mind another set of hands (or paws?) every now and then. It'd take some matters a lot easier to tackle, honestly!
What about the knights, then? At least for now, it seemed like everyone was still carrying their knightly duties even in the face of the leader's absence. That made sense! Figurehead or no figurehead, the team's ideals hadn't changed, and unless a world-shattering threat decided to present itself at their headquarter's doors, then chances were that the team could still carry their assigned roles normally. In that sense, that was quite nice.
"Makes sense. I think that's a good idea if, or until a new leadership settles. I'm glad things are going well in that regard." Snowflake, however? That was definitely something the young woman didn't know. "Nope; nobody told me. Why did you decide to move there? Any special reason, or did you just felt like it? It sounds like a pretty peculiar place to live, considering that... the weather isn't that great."
Was that the pot calling the kettle black? Probably! Didn't mean Amy wasn't curious about the reasons, however. Sides, it'd make good talk while they continued their trip.

"I guess - though maybe making a city out of it does make it feel more homely?" Honestly, Syre couldn't figure out why Amy liked the place! Syre had an excuse due to her type, but it was the stark wasteland that produced these darn mushrooms in the first place!
Eh, it wasn't too important, so long as auntie managed to keep her head on her neck. Besides, it wasn't as if Amelie was the only one doing dangerous, concerning things: she was Amelie's dear niece, sticking her neck out as part of the knights. Maybe there was a bit of worry in the opposite direction?
The conversation moved swiftly enough to Snowpoint, and to Amelie's question, the cat returned a half shrug! "Mm, dad's the one to figure the finances and everything on that, but its nice up there. Peaceful, good view, and Snowflake itself is like a nice, peaceful villa... if the weather can hold up for more than five minutes out there." She gave a shrug to that. "Though, I dunno. It might be time for me to start looking for my own place? I like my dad, don't get me wrong, but we're two very different 'mons."
... Huh. This was the first time Syre was really speaking openly about that. But where would she go? "Maybe with the Knights, or a place near Terminus or something. Would be helpful to be closer to where a mission guild is... hm... but there's always portals..."

"It surely does." Amy replied with a smile. "The first thing I did after the city was officially opened to the public was to drink a cup of tea in the privacy of my private quarters. You can't imagine how good that felt."
Of course, tea had not a lot to do regarding that feeling; it was the realization that a big project had been carried out. That the first stepping stone for her ambitions had been placed, and that she had the strength to carry out whatever she wanted to do, as long as she set her mind into it. A feeling of exhilaration that couldn't be rivaled for a long time, probably.
It was hard to deny that worry went two ways, however. This was the Digital World, after all. Danger was pretty much a constant of the world, and thus worry was pretty understandable as well; as confident as she was on Syre's ability to defend herself... one never knew, right?
"I feel like Snowpoint is a nice place for a vacation or something, but I don't know if I'd have the heart to consider it as a permanent living place. The weather seems to be... not great."
A nod was given as soon as the cat expressed his intent to live on her own, however; she understood that feeling more than enough. "Yeah, I can see it, even though your dad is probably gonna miss you, so make sure you visit him a lot. You're kinda his baby girl, you know? But I'd consider I place where you'd like living, rather than how convenient is its location is. Think about the landscape and general city layout. If you decide on a city, that is! There's plenty of places that'd make for a more relaxed living if that's what you aim for."
It was a topic that had a lot of depth to it, in all honesty. Amelie had to wonder how much had Syre thought about it.

Syre had to agree, Snowpoint could get cold, but she really couldn't help what her dad liked.
Which was another reason she could look for her own place! Syre's ear twitched as Amelie gave her a bit of advice, that she should consider the place more than she should consider the location. It was very easy to just shoot ideas off the cuff, but it seemed that the spirit wielder had a bit of a better hand in it.
And at that, Syre gave it a bit more thought. "Hm... actually... I think that helps settle in my mind what I want to do." She was certainly still bouncing a few ideas in her head, but at least one specific idea settled in her head.
"Terminus."
She nodded. "To be honest, I grew up with you, Carlos and the rest of the library - and though it was in a big, moving 'tank' out in the middle of the fields, we were always close enough to Terminus... and of all of the places in the Digital World, it felt the most... 'modern', I guess?"
She didn't know how to best describe it, but she was used to the more 'human' conveniences and aesthetic, and Terminus was the place in the Digital World closest to that feel. Besides, she liked cities much more than the outskirts!
"Well, so long as I can find an apartment or place within my range, anyway! I'm sure I'm not the first cat whose wanted a place in the big city!"

Good to know she had been helpful! Apparently, Amelie was also good enough at giving advice on places to live. A hidden talent, maybe? Seemed like it
"Terminus, huh? It's quite an interesting city. I used to have my office there, before moving to the Dark Area. Can't complain a lot about the city; it's just what you would expect about a Metropolis. Kinda busy and loud at times, but... homey, in a sense? Can't reall nail it down. I think it's a good choice, though!"
Overall, she couldn't say she was too dissatisfied with that decision. Kinda expected, but that didn't make it a bad one, right...? In any case, it seemed like a good deal of the forest had been combed now. "You definitely count with me for apartment hunting or helping you with the move, though! I'd love to help you getting settled, and we probably can find a nice place in Terminus. City's really big, and rewards people who take their time to look."
Sides, it'd be fun. No need for any other reason, really!

"Better loud and noisy than quiet for hours on end, really..."
Syre made her preference known - and honestly, she was glad to have Amelie's help with all that. Well, the city, as well as with this patrol! As they rounded the next corner, the BlackGatomon would blink as they came across a familiar clearing. It took a good long while, but they managed to come back right to where they started, their feet once more on the trail proper. The cat took a minute, looking down at her notes before she'd turn to face Amelie.
"Heh... guess that about wraps up our walk." She wouldn't mind spending some more time with Amelie, really, but as she stretched out her back, she realized just how taut her muscles were. It might have just been walking and picking up mushrooms, but that could get hard on the knees and back after a while! "Mm... next week, or the week after, how about I go bug you in the Dark Area? I'd love to see what you've done with the place!"

"I agree, but then again. I was born and raised in a human world city, so that's pretty much the sound I'm used to living around. Life would feel otherwise, you know?" Syre surely could empathize with that feeling, considering that, at least in that regard, they were the same.
Funny how, from one moment to the next, the walk was completed and had successfully run its course. Time surely went flying when you had fun. "Yeah... I had a lot of fun!" She responded to the BlackGatomon's words before pondering a bit on what was said next. "Sure! Feel free to come and visit. You can bring Mikemon as well if you want! I'd be quite happy to treat you a cup of tea or something, depending on how you feel."
Good enough of a proposal, right? In any case... "Since we're done here, I think I'll take my leave for the day. Need for me to give you a ride, or wanna go back on your own?"
Of course, Amy would react in accordance to Syre's choice, even if, invariably, that'd lead to the end of this small gathering. But... that was fine; today had been a great day. [Exit]

Bring dad along?
"Sure - its been a while since he's seen you, anyway! Hm... I'll have to ask him about tea, though..." Has he ever had tea? Was he a coffee person? That much, Syre never really paid attention to. But heck, it seemed like a decent way for the two to catch up.
And as for that second bit, the cat gave a shrug. "I could use a lift to a Trailmon station, at least. I don't want to take you too far out of your way, and I could use the long ride to put together some of my notes, anyway." But she wouldn't say no to a free ride!
And, much more like the kitten that Amelie used to know, Syre would run right up, and place her hand right in Amelie's, walking right along out of the woods - a wide smile on her face.
