It took some searching but Carrie was there, right outside the front door to the biggest library the Digital World ever knew. She looked so excited to finally learn so much about this world. She carefully approached the steps and began climbing as Gotsumon and D'Arcmon struck up conversation. Well well, the nerd seems pretty happy. Young Carrie is a wonderful and wise woman, a scribe or mage is a perfect role for her. D'arcmon said.
"I'm just looking forward to getting some answers, we can learn so much about you two, about the digital world you guys missed, about how it works... just getting all these answers in one place will be so much more convenient than playing tourist and asking the digimon living there." If they don't want to talk about it why live there? Gotsumon asked, missing the point. "Even better, if they let me get a library card I can stay here for hours, just relaxing and learning!" And so much too learn, young one. The word of the Lord and her people will bring you salvation and knowledge. The desire you show to find out more instead of material goods or petty lust is admirable... And they'll probably have some advice on battling, setting up a life in the digital world, and finding a young human stud... Gotsumon interjected.

The minute they entered the library, they'd be greeted by a quite pristine reception, the paths to the different exhibits, laboratories, and other rooms clearly branching off from the foyer. It seemed like the only mess was behind the reception's desk. The resident amphibious receptionist had been replaced by a short boy with brown hair that hadn't been touched by a comb that entire day, dressed in formal wear as if working there was his usual job. Usually, Sho would be in Digimon form and only stay at the library for short bouts of research, but he'd agreed to take a shift for Nereid and human hands were much better to type with. At the time, his ears were only tuned into his own typing and record keeping, so any commotion he heard (or at least thought he heard) near the doors made him stand up a little and look around. Sho had to remind himself that he wasn't in his own house while he was behind this desk...If they wanted to come in, they could do it themselves. That little thought made him chuckle a little. His mind had just hatched a brilliant idea...If he put on the dry receptionist act and a strange sounding accent, it'd be hilarious! Well, at least for him and his theater nerd sense of humor...For now, he went back to typing, louder now, trying to make the sounds of important busywork.

Knowledge was power… Actually, in the Digital World, power was power, but knowledge was still a close second. It just so happened that Naoko mentioned a place called the Great Moving Library, a mobile base that floated around the Network Plains, and its halls were frequented by all sorts of scholars, nerds and know-it-alls. Since they were going to Terminus City anyway, Yuko figured it would be worthwhile checking that place out. “We could learn a thing or two, you know? It could be fun… God, what’s happening to me? I’m getting excited over going to the library!” The Japanese delinquent worriedly mused during their trip there. Upon entering the library with her partner Dracmon in tow, the young Tamer spotted another human; A Caucasian girl who looked roughly the same age as her. “Hey there! Fancy meeting another human in the Digital World.” She waved at her. “Can you really call it fancy when you’ve met a dozen other humans already?” Dracmon playfully quipped, smiling one of his trademark big smiles. “Quiet, you!” The multicolor-haired girl glared at the tiny vampire.
Before she had a chance to introduce herself properly to the other girl, Yuko saw another, much more familiar face sitting behind the receptionist desk. “Sho?! Hey dude, how’s it going? Haven’t seen you since you- I mean, since the Griffomon that totally wasn’t you, gave us a ride to Terminus City. So, what’s up?”

Already inside, browsing only a miniscule section out of innumerable walls of books, was Alan, a blonde young human from the United States, though he wasn't sure how long he should keep that place as a part of his identity. The accepted guess was that it was better to hold onto something that could have nostalgic value as time went on. It wasn't as if he would never be back, but when he did, he'd only be visiting. He was wearing blue jeans, a black sweatshirt, blue fingerless gloves, brown shoes, and a black baseball cap. Standing beside this boy was Levi, a Veemon, whose only distinguishing feature to all but the others of his kind was the grey ivy cap he wore, once purchased for him by Alan in a half-baked ploy to help the Veemon be more comfortable while being hidden in side of a backpack. Still, it remained a good look on him.
Alan was running his usual routine when alone at libraries for a while. Take a book, look at it, be inclined to put it back because he was unsure about his image, even though absolutely no one would take notice. However, Levi, combined with the fact that the subject matter was considerably more interesting to him in almost every respect, helped him pick a few titles out and sit down with them in a central position. In his current mood, Alan may have even been looking forward to being approached by others here.

Carrie paused at seeing the others present. Oh, good... She thought. Anxiety... I thought people go to the library to avoid others... That receptionist's a real cutie... Gotsumon said, ignoring Carrie's concerns. Something about him seems off though. Young Catherine, you don't need to approach unless you need to. As long as you leave the tomes here you nary a need to speak a word.
Then, of course, someone else initiated conversation. She paused and turned to look at the girl and her partner, opening her mouth to say something. In theory, in reality she was almost completely dumb, not saying a thing as her mouth was agape in awkward and frustrating silence. Thankfully, it seemed the other girl noticed someone else she knew. Carrie briefly sat silent, shutting her mouth and looking at the other girl and her friend at the desk. Go talk to him, find out his number for me, Gotsumon pushed. Perhaps this is the goddess' blessing in disguise, Catherine. A few new allies to call upon on the field of battle and the expanding of your mind. Yeah, it's pretty cramped in here.
Carrie stood still, but D'arcmon took over, approaching the two as the human's normally green eyes shifted to D'arcmon's beady black ones.
"Greetings, I am Catherine." D'arcmon's unnaturally mature voice came from Carrie's mouth. She performed a bow when close enough... then banged her head on the desk trying to straighten herself, falling to the floor and moaning, the girl taking over again as she held the back of her head.

Yuko! The perfect person to get his kind of humor. Sho looked up from the D-Terminal behind the desk, turning his head forward to make his glasses slide down the bridge of his button nose and in a croaking, three-packs-a-day kind of voice said, "Can I help you with anything? You have an outstanding bill of fifty-katrillion bits for that ride..." For a while, he was able to keep at the act, loudly typing in gibberish until a smile broke on his face. Sho didn't have time to make himself laugh too often, but he looked perfectly ready to bust a gut this time. "Snrk, just kidding. It's great seeing you at the library, Yuko! I didn't know how soon you'd be back here." He continued in his regular, more youthful voice. He even tried to fix the lock of hair that fell in front of his face, blowing it back and using a stray paperclip like a bobby pins. "But, I still have to ask, is there really something you're looking for? I am actually supposed to be working here." Sho's voice regained a hint of seriousness, beginning to pull up actual records with quieter clicks. Then, as if he'd called them into existence with his tone alone, someone that sounded much more serious arrived at the table. "Hello, welcome to the Great Moving Library! Can I help-" Sho began politely and cheerfully enough, but his face fell the minute he saw the girl swing back and forth in front of him. It didn't take him any time to figure out her situation. A human acting like that can only mean one thing.
So you've decided to find something else...Your can sense it deep down, can't you? I'd liken you to a divining rod...
Less of an intuition and more of a logical deduction, Sho thought. And...wait, it'd been a while since he'd run into another Spirit User...but it wasn't the first time ever. Why was she popping into his head now? "Wait, yours can do that? Are you okay?" He asked in a wavering, quickening voice. He stood from his desk completely, fixing his hair and trying desperately to straighten his clothes. He can't remember the last time he felt so frantic here...everyone else he'd seen seemed to just deal with it, or at the very least have it under control somewhat. Maybe that was too much to ask for some people?

Unfortunately, Yuko wasn’t in on Sho’s joke, so she didn’t understand right away why he was suddenly altering his voice and acting like a grumpy receptionist. Her pink eyes widened when she heard the amount of her ‘fee’. “Fifty-katrillion?! What the hell, man! I don’t even know how many zeroes that is!” It soon, however, turned to have been a joke, causing her eyes to narrow. “Hmph! It wasn’t that funny.” She harrumphed. “Kihihihihi! I thought it was pretty funny! He really got you there!” Dracmon said, giggling like the little devil he was.
The young delinquent was pouting, but her expression soon softened. “Aaanyway! Yeah, I’m looking for things to make me smarter and shit. Especially stuff that pertains to the history of humans coming to the Digital World.” “And how many zeroes are in katrillion.” Her partner cheekily added. “AND how many zeroes are in katrillion!”
Their discussion was cut short when the girl from earlier approached them. She too was speaking with a voice other than her own, but it didn’t look like she was merely making an impression for shits and giggles. She quickly fell flat on her face in front of a very confused Yuko. “Woah! Are you alright? What happened?” She asked, while offering her hand to help Catherine get up.
Meanwhile, Dracmon was rubbing his round chin in deep pondering. “Hmmmmm… A human child being possessed by an entity that speaks in a formal, dignified voice… Oh no, it can’t be!” The vampiric Digimon exclaimed, his horror evident even through his mask. “HOMEOSTASIS?!”

She moaned, looking annoyed at the pain in her head. "I'm fine, I'm fine..." She lied, taking the hand and standing up, checking to make sure she wasn't bleeding. "I'm sorry, that was D'arcmon. She's um... her heart's in the right place." She bowed properly this time. "I'm Catherine, but everyone calls me Carrie."
I apologize Carrie, but you just needed a push to come out of your shell. The mon explained. A shove, not a concussion. Gotsumon quipped.
Happy to find there was no real damage done, Carrie returned to her shy nature, unhappy to find her introduction had lead all eyes to her. "I uh... I'm... she uh they..." God, if she could run away she would, but her legs were frozen in fear. She was stuttering again, she was in a downspin, she needed something, she needed a lifeline here before she she just completely cracked. Thankfully her eyes shifted to yellow as Gotsumon took over, looking at the boy behind the desk.
"Hey kid, I'm Gotsumon. Sorry about Carrie, she's really a nice kid." The rock monster's gravelly voice contrasting Carrie's appearance even more than the other one. "So, you lookin' to go digital?" She asked, making that clicking noise you make with your tongue when you're flirting with someone. "Because I'm a self-made warlord and need to rebuild my army." The rock monster ignored the other 2 girls, her eyes set on the young man before her. "Or maybe one of your digital friends are looking towards it?"

"Homeostasis is the body regulating itself...This is something far less scientific, and something I'm far more familiar with." That's right, the troubles of the heart. Sho stepped out from the mess behind his desk to get a better look at the shy, fickle girl. He was definitely shorter than Carrie now that he was out of his seat, but his observant presence hadn't changed, it was like his eyes were picking apart things about her without moving a thing. The rapid fire switching of tones and voices was throwing him off a little, but in a blink of his eyes he'd plucked another realization from his mind. Sho often did the same thing. "You're hoping to rebuild an army, hm? Well, you do sound like you're looking for someone to keep you stable on your path..." Sho began to quiet his thoughts and amplify his feelings, affixing his glasses to their place with a pair of fingers as a grin curled up on his face. He already knew what the others within him would say...by now, they were one and the same. Normally, he would be the one to shudder at the thought, but then again, he hadn't been just himself for a while, had he? "You see, our heart is in the right place too. And we say that Carrie should talk to us herself. You are using her body to speak, right? I think some of her own perspective would be very enlightening. We're a rare bunch, aren't we?" Sho's voice took on a much smoother, calmer demeanor, seeming to be able to still himself just by placing his hand on his heart. He took a bow before straightening himself out again, tapping his dress shoes in wait for the girl's spirits.
For a moment, his thoughts cried out; Who's speaking right now?
You said it yourself, we're all one and the same. Don't you feel much more whole than you did all that time ago? Embrace it. With your devotion, we'll be together one day.
The fatigue was gone... Sho's mind had realized that and was able to make his body stand more confidently. He may look scrawny and slightly sickly, but nothing about the way he spoke reflected that.

The little Dracmon let out a long, loud sigh of relief at being told the name of the true culprit behind Catherine’s possession. “PHEW! So, it was just you, D’arcmon. Your Homeostasis impression nearly gave me a heart attack… and I don’t even have a heart!” Meanwhile, Sho thought that he was referring to another kind of homeostasis, which was for the best really. “A Jeanne D’arc Digimon? Like in those gacha games? I wouldn’t mind seeing what she looks like.” A rather curious Yuko said. She hadn’t really played any of said gacha games herself, but living in Japan made it hard to ignore their immense popularity.
It became apparent that Carrie was another totem user like Sho, but rather than transforming her into a Digimon, her totem spirits had a bad habit of taking turns on her body… Get your mind off the gutter, it means they were possessing her! It was still pretty creepy in Yuko’s eyes. “So, you can just take over her body anytime you want without asking her? That’s pretty shady, if you ask me.”
Dracmon nodded at the second spirit’s words, all sage like. “As a Demon King, I can attest. Amassing a great army is important. I’m thinking of doing so myself, once I get IceDevimon, MarineDevimon and the rest of the old gang back together.” He mused. Meanwhile, Yuko had to roll her eyes when the rather thirsty Gotsumon used Carrie’s body to shamelessly flirt with Sho. “You’re taking away Carrie’s free will AND hitting on someone without her consent. That’s at least three criminal charges right there!”

"I assure you we only do it for the important stuff." She blows a kiss to Sho, "But if you REALLY want to talk to her then I wish you luck, she's got these little hang-ups and issues like 'a severe stutter', 'paranoid schizophrenia', and 'social anxieties'... really makes her a chore t-"
"Gotsumon!" D'arcmon interjects, her voice coming from Carrie's mouth mid-sentence, almost as if by magic as her eyes once again shifted colors. "I can only imagine how much troubles you got our dear leader into before I showed up. But I feel that Carrie could use some more friends, soldiers in arms, and maybe just someone to talk too other than us. She is a little saint for putting up with us, her patience a ticket to the heaven's gates on its own... I will gladly let Carrie hold this conversation..." The religious digimon gives a glare to Dracmon and his mentions of a demon army. If looks could kill D'arc would've been a serial killer at this point. Well, in addition to her war crimes but that's a story for some other time.
Carrie returned to normal, going dead silent as she looked at the three (actually far more, but who's counting) strangers who'd just casually been introduced to her entire menagerie of psychological disorders. "I- t-they.. she..." She takes off her backpack and starts trying to find her pills, nearly crying. God, she wanted to run, she really, really needed to run and take a good cry and never return. She just wanted some books...

The kiss blown in Sho's face broke an unseen spell. The subtle leer of interest he had quickly fell into a gaze of disgust. Whatever words he had were held back by his pursed lips, the anger the words of Carrie's spirits generated in his mind merely materialized into a "Tch..." Left under his breath. There was no mistaking it though, that anger was his own.
That rage~...Now you get it-
Thinking "Shut up" would be a waste of time. The wise soul in his head had just disappeared through his will. Though, this was obvious now that he thought about it...willpower was the only language it spoke. "...How about this, miss. You get what you need, and I can find you a good, comfy seat and some books for you. That sounds good, right?" Sho nodded slowly to indicate that he didn't need to tire her with words. He began to walk back towards the library, whispering to Yuko as he passed. A small "Talk to her" was all he gave. He began to pick past the spines of the books, crossing the paths of a certain kid with blonde hair on his search for the perfect recommendation. Sho could handle the books, it was in his name, but empathetically talking to people? That was best left to somebody else...but with the library? This might as well be his domain.

If the spirits of long dead Digimon could be punched, Yuko definitely would have punched Gotsumon, but breaking Carrie’s face wouldn’t get them anywhere. She’d gone quickly from finding their behavior mildly creepy, to unsettling and finally reprehensible. Considering she was putting up with Jokermon’s shady antics, that was saying a lot. All she could do was glare furiously at them, and glare she did even when D’arcmon began speaking again. “Gimme a break! You’re no better! If you’re glad to let her have control of her own freaking body, you should have done so to begin with!”
Unfortunately, they now had to deal with a very panicky Carrie frantically searching her bag for her mental pills. Yuko looked at her with genuine sadness and pity. “Damn… Can’t blame her. If I were her, I’d be freaking out too…” She whispered back to Sho, before the latter left to find some books.
“Well, you heard the man! Go spread some happiness!” Dracmon eagerly encouraged his Tamer. “I’m reeeally not the best equipped to help someone with their depression.” The Japanese delinquent whispered back to her partner. “Oh, I know that! Your failed attempts will make ME happy!” The Demon King replied with a goofy smile.
Yuko glared at the devious demon, but ultimately sighed and approached Carrie, putting her hands on her shoulders and shaking her gently. “Hey, calm down, okay? Just tell me what you need from your bag and I’ll find it for you. And, uuuh… Don’t worry, okay? I had a freak out too the other day, so I know what it’s like.”

There was a stretch of time where Alan wasn't even looking at the spines he was trying to search through, but rather, staring straight into the ground, thinking about other things, not necessarily related to anything that was happening now. When he noticed somebody else was picking through the shelves, he jumped ever so slightly, and took his finger off of the book upon which it had been lazily resting. The blonde human definitely agreed that this wasn't the perfect time to start a conversation, as the approaching librarian seemed to have a goal in mind when coming back here. He and Levi stepped back from the bookshelf, mumbling, "Oh, sorry," with a polite bow of their heads. They weren't about to talk to somebody who didn't want to be talked to, after all. They were waiting to be engaged, so that they could at least know the conversation was something desired on both ends.
Also, it was a library. The duo were pretty sure "socializing" wasn't the default reason for coming here, but they also had an inkling that socializing was a thing that happened at libraries often. Yes, this was their theory, and they would soon be back to idly searching for themselves.

Carrie took some deep breaths as, once again, a trip to the digital world has made her break down in tears in front of a bunch of strangers. Maybe if she was stronger willed or had a more firm mind she'd... she'd not be crying so much. She couldn't stop either of them if she tried, their egos were too much more powerful than her own. She fumbled with her bag to take out some of her pills. Anti-stuttering, anti-anxiety, anti-depressants, anti-schizophrenics, at least 7 different types fell to the ground, only one of the bottles spilling open, thankfully. She paused and sat down as she looked at all the little purple balls scattered away from her and that finally did it. She finally began to bawl in front of this complete stranger. She was almost a grown woman and now she was the most pitiful she'd ever been in her whole life (in her eyes, which only made things worse).
"I hate the digital world! I hate my stupid spirits, I hate having to fight evil just to find a place to eat, I hate having to listen to the things in my head, I hate these stupid pills, I hate that I can't go one day without crying like a little girl, I hate this! I hate that! I hate everything! I just wanted to be normal!" She said, scrambling to get up and try to run to a hiding place, only to slip on the pills and land right on her bag, where she sat, crying harder than before.
