"Biological one? No. That's a bit more of a complex issue. My true father's an individual I know very little about apart from he was trying to actually kill me for a time, having gone mad with something. I think your fathers both know more about him than I ever will--he's sane again but he's legitimately disappeared since the last time I had the displeasure of interacting with him. As for my mother...That's...Mmmh. I don't know who she is either. I just know she's there somewhere." Mae didn't seem particularly torn up about this, heavy as it may have been.
But, there was a better question on the table right now. How many? "Enough. I might or might not have foreseen you being able to eat a lot, but...I do also intend to make some for myself at the same time." She added a few more pancakes to that stack, before reaching up into a cabinet to pull out two plates with which to divide the stack perfectly evenly, like all division should be.
"So, um...Wanna watch anime and eat pancakes?"

"Oh.." Hasenya wasn't really sure how to respond. She couldn't fathom not knowing either of her dad's, or having one of them- or Neemon forbid both of them be batshit insane. It was an odd scenario to think about and it even made her a bit uncomfortable. "I'm sorry that they kinda.. suck." Did she have better words for it? Probably, but those seemed to do the job without getting too deep into the topic. Mae not have been torn up, but Hasenya could still wish better for her.
"...Hey! You can't just-" The fox flustered a bit, not even realizing the cat was out of the bag before she was ready to let it loose. "Er.. well, I guess you don't really ask that future sight stuff to happen huh?" Can't really be frustrated about it in that case. Though she did have to wonder how Mae's abilities worked. Or better yet, how it chose what to show the catsquid. Hasenya's appetite seemed pretty unimportant in the grand scheme of the universe.
"Of course I do? You don't even have to ask, I'm always down for company and food." The Renamon nodded her head. Had she watched an anime before in her life? Jesmon, no. But she was definitely okay with Mae being the one to introduce her to it.

It was true, Mae did just unload a lot on Hasenya, even if she didn't really think it was that much. "Oh, it's...It's nothing to apologize about. I've managed to get past needing anything from them, but...I guess that comes at a cost, doesn't it? ...No matter." The cat shook her head, before she moved to pat Hasenya on the head again. "Thank you, though."
"And...No, I generally don't ask for most of the visions I get. I can look into the future willingly whenever I want to, theoretically, but I can't do it for too long or I get dizzy. I can't do it too much or I get tired. And sometimes, the future will not change, too. I've...had to break that to people a few times in the past."
Of course, nothing could prepare Hasenya for what Mae's reaction was to her saying yes to that. She literally went to pick the Renamon up off of the counter and hug her INCREDIBLY TIGHTLY. What would Hasenya do in response to this?

The Renamon couldn't help but tilt her head towards the pat- slowly but surely, she was learning that she quite enjoyed the simple affection. Though there was still a lot of internal fluster. "I imagine most normal people would indeed get a headache or dizzy from watching me eat." Hasenya shrugged, not to sound self-deprecating, because honestly she didn't much care. Especially when Mae already knew and didn't seem to mind it.
"Oho? Future can't change huh? So you're admitting you couldn't stop me from coming over?" Hasenya was ready to celebrate victory over the squidcat's foresight, though it'd be rather short-lived as she was scooped up into Mae's arms and squeezed. How could she respond? Instinctively, all she could do was return the favor. Meanwhile she couldn't help but remember the last time she was being held up like that, and once again that comment Mae had made about her size came creeping up on her to only intensify all that fluster building up in the poor little fuzzball.
"D-Did I do something?" The fox sort of managed to squeak out while she was having the heck squeezed out of her.

"Some futures can't change, I mean. I probably could've stopped you, but it'd have been...pretty difficult, from what I know..."
It took a few moments for Mae to realize what she was doing, and the Meicrackmon swiftly let go of the fox, giving her a swift reprieve from the probably agonizing hug that the cat had subjected her to. "I-I...Uh...No, you didn't, just...I was really happy that you said yes to that..."
She was rather certain that she sounded like a weird combination of awkward and simplistic, but that didn't necessarily dilute the truth of the matter. For some reason she had been elated to hear Hasenya say 'yes' to that. "...You're also the first person here to agree to watch anything with me, too, so there's that..." Mae managed to stammer less as she slowly regained what little composure she held. The cat moved to pick the plates of pancakes up, before turning to Hasenya again. "I'll just take these over there, okay?"
...Why was Mae nervous?

Hasenya was spoiled by having a family who easily took interest in anything she did, even if the general opinion of what she personally found fun was supposedly boring. She was a bookworm and a bit of a handy-fox. Never one for the things people usually got up to in this modern-era. Would it be a bit of a stretch to call the Renamon old-fashioned?
Agonizing was hardly the right adjective for it. Hasenya was no stranger to casual affections, but Mae gave some pretty darn good hugs if she had to say so herself. The fox wasn't willing to let Mae go so easily, first giving her a brief much gentler hug and a little pat on the back to reassure her both that she was fine and that she didn't mind the sudden hug before letting her go again.
"..I must admit, if anyone else were to ask, I might just say no. But I like hanging out with you quite a lot." Hasenya shrugged, then adding in a playful, joking sort of tone: "I can hardly say no to you when you make pancakes like a pro even after I essentially broke into your house, can I?"
She couldn't fathom what was making the Meicrackmon so on edge. Her best guess was the hug, honestly. They sort of figured that once they sat and got adjusted Mae would calm down a bit, and if not- well.. She wasn't a space heater for nothing, right?

Was she thinking about this too hard? As a thread set after this thread would possibly prove? Probably. The Meicrackmon took a deep breath as she released Hasenya, but quickly tensed up as the fox moved to hug her herself. That did a good job of at least reassuring her that everything was okay and probably not as nerve-wracking as she had been making things out to be.
"W-Well, I hope you know I wouldn't just ask this of anyone." Mae huffed a bit. "And why wouldn't I make pancakes for a friend...?" She questioned aloud as she went to go sit. To Hasenya's credit, she figured out correctly that Mae would actually calm down once they sat down. The TV was unfortunately not playing the anime that Mae had wanted to catch the rerun of, but it was playing the second best thing.
...Which was a space caper with the phrase Cowboy in the title. "Hey, quick question...Do you even have a TV over at Ys?" Mae found herself asking as she started to consume the pancakes--she had brought silverware for them both so they could not eat like savages and the like.

"'Course you wouldn't. Not everyone makes as great a space heater as me." Hasenya joked, chuckling lightly. There was a joke somewhere in there about not doing something you're good at for free, but there wasn't any need to continuously tease Mae. The pink fox sat down next to Mae, scooting just a tad closer to better perform those self-appointed space-heater duties of hers. "I guess being a friend overwrites the being an intruder thing?" Hasenya shrugged in response to the question. She didn't have an actual answer, she was just being a little goblin.
Hasenya had just about grabbed at a pancake with her hand too before she got the hint at almost the last second and pulled her hand away to grab a proper utensil. A bit flushed from embarrassment now, though it didn't stop her from stabbing a pancake and shoving it in her face. Definitely not gonna eat like savages, no ma'am. Nope...
"Yeah, of course. I don't keep one in my room though. I've never been a big TV person." Hasenya shrugged after swallowing her mouthful of pancake. "You've seen Ys, yeah? It's way too techy to not have TV's all over the place." She was curious about this whole.. space-faring cowboy deal. Didn't cowboy's tend to cattle and radiate homoerotic vibes on TV, normally? She wouldn't know.

While Hasenya had managed to avoid embarrassing herself by grabbing a pancake with her hand like some sorta savage, it was not something that went unnoticed by Mae, who's response to that was...patting the gremlin on the head. Again. Seriously, she had no idea why she enjoyed doing that so much.
"Oh...That's understandable. You never really struck me as such, so...I was a bit surprised when you actually wanted to watch this stuff with me. And yeah, I've seen Ys--Even got a tour there from one of your brothers. There's a -lot- of monitors and TVs alike there." She nodded.
Well, the anime that was running right now was actually just Cowboy Bebop. The author of this post hasn't watched that, so...really, Mae was entertained through and through by it. Heck, she tore through her pancakes in suspense, if that made sense! What about the fox?

The fox gave a bit of a wiggle and leaned into the patting just briefly. She wouldn't get too cuddly while there were still pancakes in dire need of being devoured. "I'm pretty sure even taking turns headbutting a wall would be fun if it were us two together. ..'course, that's only until one of us gets actually hurt. Point is: This is real nice." Hasenya nodded, devouring yet another whole pancake in one bite.
Hasenya had never seen an anime before, and this whole space setting was one she was a bit of a stranger to. She tended to gravitate more towards medieval fantasy type stories, with holy knights and dracomons and stuff like that. This wasn't to say she wasn't open to the change, though some of the things going on in this anime had her tilting her head from one side to the next.
"Humans can't actually travel around space like that, right? I dunno if I trust just anyone ownin' a spaceship." Like anyone who didn't watch TV much, Hasenya was blissfully unaware of the whole etiquette thing about not asking silly, philosophical questions mid-episode.

"W-Why headbutting a wall?" Mae inquired, her ears flicking in a manner that one can easily construe as 'nervous.' "That seems like it's guaranteed to hurt us both...But yeah, this is kind of nice..." She at least managed to admit that much. While Mae was not as unfamiliar to the animated hellscape that anime itself is as Hasenya was.
But she still wasn't too sure how she felt about this series so far. It was nice, but it was not something she had seen before, that much was for certain. "Oh, definitely not. Well, maybe not yet, but they might be able to do it someday? Even still, I'm sure every owner of a ship would have different traits that make trusting one over another more valid, I guess...I like the dog, though. The dog's a good boy."
She had her priorities straight, at the very least!

"...I-I'm not great at metaphors. Was just trying to kinda prove a point I guess." Hasenya laughed nervously, playing with the tips of one of her ears as a nervous gesture. Not that it stopped her from missing a beat in getting back to stuffing her face with pancakes. At least one of them definitely had their priorities straight, yes. It probably wasn't her. But at least one could infer that Mae made great pancakes!
"The dog is the best character so far." Hasenya agreed, nodding her head. "The little redheaded girl.. boy? I can't really tell. You know who I mean though? They're like, a close second I think." The dog was still the most likable, but it felt a little cheap to stick to the safe option. Dogs could do no wrong, after all.

"O-Oh...Sorry, I...Uh. I'm fifty fifty when it comes to metaphors. I'm usually better with them though, I swear." Mae nodded. In other news, the pancakes were apparently decimated within the course of a number of minutes. Mae couldn't help but feel a small bit of pride that someone that had not been her had...well, enjoyed her cooking.
"Yeah, I...I agree with that, actually. I don't know why, but I think most dogs in fictional media end up having stronger characters than the other characters in whatever they're in. The redheaded person seems really cool, too! Very literally a radical character." Mae snickered a little at that last part, but it was worth noting that the notion of dogs being unable to do wrong was correct.
In time, though, Mae let out a yawn. "...I think I might have to actually turn in soon..." She murmured, even as the anime raged on.

"Well, spend enough time around me and you'll know when you hear 'em. Especially the stupid ones." Hasenya joked, leaning against Mae now that she had successfully conquered Pancake Mountain with her face. This totally didn't speed up the whole Mae being sleepy either thing, definitely not, nope. ...At least not intentionally. Though it became as such once Mae made it known she was exhausted.
"I did say I was gonna get you to go to bed, didn't I?" Hasenya asked, very clearly being a little goblin. She spoke as if she had forgotten it, though the sarcasm in her voice just made it obvious she was teasing. That being said, Mae couldn't exactly go to bed if she had a fox on her. Obviously no mere rookie could actually keep the Meicrackmon hostage, but how would Mae react to this pink gremlin's little games?

"I guess so--that does come with getting to know someone..." Mae couldn't exactly help but tense up a touch as Hasenya leaned against her. Was this anything she could get used to? Probably, but at the moment this was...New to her. She was familiar with hugs, but not this.
She liked it, though. That much, Mae was able to figure out right off the bat. She shook her head at what Hasenya said. "...I'd go to bed, but...I don't wanna leave you alone. I'd be a terrible host if I did that..." The sleepy feline admitted, quietly. Like it or not, Hasenya DID kind of just take a hostage. Figuratively, though.
Plus, it didn't seem like she even WANTED to move in the first place! Was this what comfort was like for Mae?
