Part One (Would like posts as the reward}
Justice wiped across his brow as he carried his bag up the stairs. He was on the third floor, and the slow elevator killed him. A backpack hung from his back as he walked down the hallway. Finally he reached his dorm room, his brain exhausted from a day of classes and his body from a nice game of basketball after.
He closed the front door behind him, and immediately, flashes of blue and red lit up from his D-Watch and manifested in the forms of Digimon.
Gummy stretched and yawned loudly, while Vee followed after Justice, who threw his bag onto his computer chair, and turned on the TV.
Everything about the attacks on Golden Week was covered on all news channel.Every bulletin showed video footage of the battles, especially the battle at Hachiko Square where they were at. The entire memorial had been cordoned off, with police guarding the barriers, with men in dark navy suits picking up bits and pieces, placing them in small or middle-sized bags.
“The attack throughout Shibuya has proven that these creatures who have been randomly appearing in the city are on a rampage and must be stopped. It is suggested that all members of the public, if they see any of these creatures, report it to the police and do not try to interfere. They are suspected of being highly volatile and dangerous. Coming to us by satellite, we have the chief of police, Norisuke Higashikata. Chief Higashikata, you’re now working in conjunction with the police in the city, is that correct?”
The television screen split in two, one side was the news reporter, and the other the face of Norisuke Higashikata appeared, fully uniformed and solemn.
“That is correct. We have decided it is better for us to work together, to double the protection on the streets and bring these creatures under control if possible.”
"Do you – does anyone – have any inkling of what these monsters might want? Why they are attacking us?”
“Unfortunately not.” Higashikata explained slowly. “We know nothing of them, not where they come from, where they’re hiding. Only that they seem to attack without provocation and with increasing strength and number. They are dangerous and are not to be dealt with by anyone who is not authorized.”
Gummy leaned back in the sofa cushion. “Does anyone feel like he’s addressing that to us?”
“Be quiet!” Vee scolded.
“...as you have already been informed, if you see any of these creatures do not attempt to approach or deal with them yourselves. Contact an authorized member of the police, and they will arrive as soon as possible. Travel in groups, always have your phone with you, and if an attack is taking place near your home, stay in doors to minimize the risk of injury.” Higashikata said severely. The camera panned back to the news reporter.
"Thank you for your time today, Chief." A pause and a screen of Higashikata disappeared. “Chief Higashikata of the Shibuya Police Station and an update on from the events of the attacks a few days ago. Most who were injured got off with minor injuries. At the moment there have been no fatalities..”
Justice rubbed his forehead; he didn’t want to hear this anymore. “Turn it off.”
Vee grabbed the remote and switched the television off to a blank screen. Justice stood up, pacing the room slowly then made his way to the closest window.
“Different day, same story.” he muttered to himself. A silence overtook the single dorm living room.
“I think it would be safer for us to just...not engage in anything in the Human World for the time being.” Vee said from where he sat.
“Hell no!” Gummy argued. “We’re not the ones at fault here. We’re trying to protect these humans. We’re the good guys! They should learn to be grateful.” He said fiercely.
“We know that. But the other humans don’t.”
"Exactly.” Justice sighed and leaned forward. “To anyone else besides DATS who doesn’t know you, you’re all just monsters hell-bent on destroying the world. They won’t wait to know if you’re good or bad. They’re scared of you.”
“But we haven’t done anything.” Gummy muttered.
Justice sighed “I know. But with all that’s going right now, and with DATS eyeing me like a hawk, it doesn’t matter, I’m afraid. Do you two remembered what I said on the day we became partners, how I said that the Human World was gonna be completely different from what you two were used to in the Digital World? I don't mean that in physical aspect, I also meant it in a social aspect. Most Digimon may welcome humans in arms in the Digital World, but here, it’s the opposite with humans.”
“Well I’m not traveling in the D-Watch 24/7.” Gummy said firmly. “I don’t care if people are scared of me. I’m gonna keep fighting bad Digimon to show ‘em there’s good Digimon out there as well.”
“Listen, I feel hurt about this too. You might want to be an easy target for a military missile, but I don’t. I know what one feels like”. Vee shouted back.
“Then you’re just a coward! The both of you!” Gummy retalited, rounding on Vee.
“Say that to my face.” Vee snarled
“Vee-!”
“You. Are. A. Coward.“ Gummy snapped, stepping up to Vee until his face was directly in his.
Vee gritted his teeth. “Just because I care more about protecting you guys than proving myself, doesn’t make me a coward. It makes me careful.”
"And scared.”
“You’re so full of-”
Gummy punched his brother knocking him off his feet. Vee got up, then responded back by headbutting him in the chest. The two then started to go across the whole living room, knocking down shelves and ornaments in the process.
“Both of you! Stop it!” Justice yelled. He rushed to them and put both of his arms out between to the two to separate them. The twins tried to break free so they could hit each other some more. Gummy, in a blind rage, responded by biting Justice on the arm.
“Agh! Motherf-!”
Justice punched the Gumdramon in the face, sending him flying to the couch, which tipped over. The purple dragon then retaliated by pouncing on him, and Vee pounced on him as well. The three would then duke it out, with Justice and Vee teaming up to quell Gummy’s anger. Unbeknownst to the tree of them, the D-Watch would start to vibrate and erupted with intense blazing lights of pink, yellow, orange, blue, green, purple, white, and an eerie black.
Then, a portal of prismic light would open under the three of them, sending them down to the swirling depths below before either of them could process what was going on.
“Wha--” Justice couldn't complete his sentence.
Fatigue suddenly started to set in, with the three of them passing out one by one. Justice was the last one to succumb to the invitation of sleep, despite resisting the pull.
Wherever this portal was sending them, was going to be an eye opener for all three of them.

(Part 2)
...
Justice stirred slowly, shifting his fingers at first. He was lying flat on something hard; the feeling of concrete under his fingertips made him aware he was on the ground and on her back. He had a weight on his chest, but it was not so heavy that it was uncomfortable. His head ache , and he groaned as he moved it from side-to-side, testing his movements. Being able to move his head meant he hadn’t damaged anything important. And he could wiggle his toes in his shoes, so that was a good sign. He felt groggy, like he was waking up from an overactive sleep where he hadn’t really rested.
At least he didn’t feel sick. That was a bonus.
Gradually, he began to move his limbs more, regaining feelings and checking slowly for any injuries he might have sustained. He knew he wasn’t where he had been. He remembered everything clearly. How he came home with the news still talking about the attacks on Golden Week. How Gummy blew his temper yet again, attacking him and Vee in a blind rage from the mere suggestion of being in the D-Watch until everything blew over when out in public. And how they were all sucked into a portal by his digivice.
It was something of a blur after that. He could recall bright lights, and then darkness. A feeling of being dragged somewhere unwillingly, a feeling like he was being pulled and yanked every which way. Like there were unseen entities at work, trying to tear his limbs from their sockets, until it had all stopped so suddenly, and he found himself no longer falling, and no longer feeling.
There was the sound of traffic across from him, the purr of car engines drowning out by horns going off every few seconds. Automatically, Justice sat up quickly, alert and aware. The weight on his chest fell and bounced into his lap. He looked down to see a small blue and white dragon in on his lap, moving and looking dazed and confused - Vee.
Justice mimicked his Digimon, who was looking at his surroundings with careful consideration. They were in an alleyway, with buildings that were right lined up in unison towering over them. Some seemed to be perfectly occupied, with lights coming from the windows. While others were pitch black, seemingly vacant. Across from them were half open garbage containers, some of the trash nearly filling the top and in desperate need of a pick-up.
Then, his mind clicked.
“Gummy!” Justice began to look around frantically for a sign of his other Digimon, who was also swallowed up in the portal with him and Vee. They got to their feet, searching in any hook and cranny they thought a midget purple dragon could hide. Justice held his D-Watch in his hand, staring at the screen for a sign of the Gumdramon.
“He might have landed somewhere different than us.” Vee suggested. “Knowing him, he’s probably trying to look for us right now with that sharp nose of his. Besides, we don’t even know where we are, so there’s no point in us getting lost.”
Justice sighed softly. “I guess so.” He glanced at his D-Watch screen for a moment, noticing several dots had appeared. All were fairly close to his location, so without obviously agreeing with Vee’s suggestion, Justice decided to remain in place.
Lowering his hand, Justice winced in pain, clutching his left arm. Vee looked at him with concern red eyes. “You alright?”
Justice almost looked surprised at the Veemon’s question. His Digimon being concern for him was something he was not used to, as it usually was the other way around. He looked at his arm, which had blood still dripping from his bite wounds thanks to Gummy, though thanks to the dried up blood, most of the wounds stop bleeding. “Just a little flesh wound. Nothing I can’t shake off.”
“I’m so sorry! Maybe if I restrained him a bit better or something, he wouldn’t have done that.”
The young man raised his hand at him. “It’s ok. No good deed goes unpunished.”
Vee nodded, giving his Tamer a pat on the shoulder. “As long as your ok is all that matters. Though we better find some first aid. Don’t want what you humans call ‘bleeding out’ to happen.”
His Digimon brought up a good point. Despite his wound not being too serious, it could potentially be if left untreated. Once he reaches the clinic, he’ll just say to the nurses that he got into a bad encounter with a stray dog or something.
But speaking of location, where exactly were they?
Taking out his phone, he went straight to the Maps app. It started to buffer since the place they were at had low reception, but after twenty seconds, the map started to load up, showing roads and streets. The nearest street they were at was called Arthington Street. Surprisingly, the names of the roads and streets weren’t Japanese based, but English.
Justice recognized that street. “No…” Covering up his wound with his jacket sleeve, he took sprinted off, exiting the alleyway.
“Hey wait up!” Vee exclaimed, following from behind.
They departed from the darkness and into the light. Once his vision adjusted to the sunlight, the young man was taken aback at what he was seeing. Buildings that he recognized towered above them, almost coming close to the clouds—one of the buildings being being the Sears Tower.Seeing that iconic skyscraper, Justice instantly knew where he was at.
Chicago. His home.
The early evening was setting in with a warm breeze, and dwindling light. Street lights were already flickering on, and surprisingly a lot of the streets were empty. There were no people walking about, no traffic weaving their way into the next lane change, nothing. It was kind of eerie as Justice walked the streets, with Vee at his side, carefully checking every street concern if there were people on them. It was almost as if the city had experienced mass migration and people just upped and abandoned their daily lives, even their cars. To Vee, the Digimon was left speechless, only gasping in surprise at the tall buildings. But to Justice, it was getting more deerie by the minute.
“None of this makes any sense,” Justice said as they walked. “Why did a Digi-portal sent us to Chicago of all places and not the Digital World? And why is Chicago so empty? A city’s population doesn’t just disappear out of thin air...to say if this is Chicago and not some lucid dream I’m having.”
“Chicago? You know this place, Justice?” Vee asked, tilting his head to the side.
Justice sighed. “Yeah...this is my home; where I grew up.”
Vee’s eyes widen. A huge smile appeared on his face, his ears standing upright “Oh wow! You were born here?! This place is so huge, maybe even bigger than Terminus!” Vee started to sprint a bit ahead, gazing at all of the empty restaurants and stores. “I never knew that the human world was this big. Every corner you go to, I feel like I could get lost and not feel lost at the same time! Japan’s so big! How come you never brought us here?”
“Japan? Oh no no no. Chicago’s located in a state called Illinois, which is located in America. America is an entirely different continent”
The red scarf Veemon tilted his head in confusion.
“What, don’t tell me you thought the human world was just Japan, right?”
“...Yeah I kind of did.”
“Hmph,” Justice huffed, and rubbed a hand over his hair. His D-Watch vibrated on his wrist, he pulled it out and looked at the screen. A Digimon was nearby from the looks of it. “Speak of the devil, I think that’s your brother. Took him long enough to get his ass here.”
The two continued walking for several minutes, crossing over a four-way intersection. They needed to set things straight with Gummy, to get some ground rules...that, somehow, would allow Justice to lead a ‘normal’ life with Digimon and almost daily impending Digimon attacks. Assuming if the Gumdramon had cooled off somewhat, he’ll get some clarity on the situation after the Golden Week attacks and listen to reason. If not, well, he was prepared for the worst from him. Lost in his thoughts, he closed his eyes, trying to figure out the best possible solution to this, and to see if they could find a way back.
WHACK!
Justice suddenly felt a blow on his head and was knocked down to the ground. From the contact, it was another person. Relief as he was to see that they weren't alone in this big city, them crashing into him quickly curved that.
“Damn it,” he yelled. “Watch where you’re walking, you dumbass!”
“What did you say?" The voice said. “That’s my line! You shouldn't be walking around here all spaced out, asswipe!”
Unable to find the words at what he's seeing, Vee looked back at both the stranger and his partner repeatedly, rubbing both his eyes with his hands to see if he was seeing things right.
Getting up, Justice opened his eyes. The person, who’s voice sounded like his own, albeit a bit younger, was an African American male, dressed in dark blue T-shirt with a white stripe down the middle, a red scarf that looked exactly like Vee’s, white cargo pants, and silver laced dress shoes. His hair was the shape of a flaptop, with a pick sticking out from the side. This dude had the appearance of a prep kid from an expensive school
Turning to the side, he saw that this guy was accompanied by a Veemon, who looked completely identical to Vee, who wore the same white and black bracelet on his right wrist, with the exception of having no scarf dorned across his neck. He must of been the reason why his D-Watch was going off.
It started to slowly click; this guy looked exactly like him. As the two stared at each other in silence, the realization at who this person was started to kick in.
This person he was looking at was himself.
"HUUUUH?!"

Final Part
Gummy was somewhat grateful that someone had neglected to close their hallway window. The building he was at was an apartment, one that wasn’t especially high off the ground, and with a few well judged leaps and carefully placed steps, Gummy could easily make it from the window onto the rooftops of other buildings nearby. It wasn’t something he did often in Japan, leaving the apartment and wandering alone - in fact, he had to admit this was the first time - but it felt good to be out on his own. Have some air in a human city he’s never been before, and most of all, time without those two around.
He felt...in fact, he wasn’t sure how he felt anymore. Sometimes it was just frustration. Then sometimes it was frustration and anger. And then sometimes it was more than two emotions and when it was like that, Gummy found he would get a headache. He wondered if all Digimon could only manage one major emotion at a time, or whether it was just him. He knew humans obviously felt more than one emotion at a time. Humans were complete messes all the time, so they had to be feeling more than one emotion. He just wondered if any of them felt quite like this one did.
The way the feeling felt changed sometimes, but it was always that same, angry feeling. Sometimes it would feel like something had been ripped out of his chest, leaving a huge gaping hole there which pulsated and vibrated with a need and a want to be filled again. Other times it felt like his whole rib cage was expanding on itself, like his lungs were growing and like his digi-core was going to explode against his bones.
However the feeling came about, Gummy hated every second of it. And that feeling was ever-more present when he thought about his brother and Justice. He imagined, or supposed, that this was what guilt felt like. That he was either experiencing intense guilt, shame or a mixture of the two. None of which was what he wanted.
Maybe he hadn’t reacted the right way. Maybe he could have put effort into listening to what Justice has to say. But where was the fun in that? Acting out was much more entertaining; and had produced so many more arguments and funny situations. But this time, it was different: he harmed his Tamer.
With a long breath, Gummy slumped against the side of the building. He had been wandering over rooftops for a while now, moving where his feet went, stopping occasionally to judge distance and watch anything that took his interest.
He sat back in the shade created by a satellite dish, peering down at the street below. This place wasn’t like Shibyua; it was much bigger, with buildings that seemed to stretch out into the horizon for eons. But there was one thing missing in this big city: the humans. There was not a human in sight when he was traversing, not even any smaller human children. He started to question if Justice and Vee even ended up here like he did.
He started to question if Justice and Vee even ended up here like he did. If they were around here, his nose would have picked their scent up by now, or Justice’s D-Watch would pick his location.
There was a long time where Gummy sat, stared at the street looking but not seeing. Letting his mind empty and blinking owlishly from time to time. Which was why Parallelmon when loomed over him, staring in the same spot, Gummy almost leapt down from the building in fright.
The Mega Digimon stood and surveyed, focusing entirely on the Gumdramon. Who was completely on guard with blue flames flaring off his tail.
Parallelmon lowered himself a little, attaining better contact with Gummy, quite a feat considering the difference between the two. “You are lost.” Parallelmon spoke, and his voice was more like an electric hum. Gummy’s fur stood on end, either through static or through fear he wasn’t entirely sure.
“Who the hell are you?” Gummy growled.
“You are lost.” Parallelmon said again. “Why do you wander so far from your Tamer?”
“I’m not lost.”
“No?” Parallelmon looked almost quizzical. “You seem so to me.” A pause. Gummy kept his guard and defences up. Something was going to happen, Parallelmon would do something, there was no doubt in the small dragon’s mind. He was just waiting for an opening. Waiting for a chance, when Gummy would drop his guard. “No matter. You and your Tamer will soon cease to exist, as do all trespass through space-time."
Gummy jumped up with his tail and growled, swiping directly across Parallelmon’s singular eye with Jacked Hammer. “I like to see you try, you no-muscled chicken-shit!” The flames from his eyes immediately grew faint; it didn’t affect him. Gummy dashed from the rooftop, a well timed leap down to the ground and he was making a mad dash. Parallelmon followed. Gummy slid across the ground, jumping from a car roof, onto a bus and then down onto a taxi. He careered into a side alley and snuck behind a trash receptacle. He panted, and forced himself to breathe quietly. He could feel Parallelmon closing in. His heart was beating wildly and he was sure it was an audible sound.
Dammit Specs, Vee, where are you?
“So let me go over this again: you two are basically another version of us from another universe and not future versions of ourselves?”
“That’s what it looks like, yeah.”
“And with that in mind, multiverse theory an actual thing that actual exists within the tatum of the time-space continuum?”
“Yup.”
“...so you’re telling me that Back to the Future was a bunch of bullshit?”
“Pretty much, yeah.”
Justice stood on the glassed observation deck known as The Ledge, located on the 103rd floor of the Sears Tower, alongside Vee and their alternative counterparts. It had been about an hour since all four of them encountered each other. Justice had picked a public area to settle down and talk about their situation. He had explained in the briefest details about where and how they came here. The sun had begun to set as the sky slowly started to turn to a shade of light orange. The street lights littered across the city started to illuminate as the two converse. He still couldn’t believe that the person he was talking to was in fact him. And judging by his otherself’s mannerisms, he was as much weirded out as he was. At least they shared the same thought; the thought that this was honestly the most bizarre thing that they had ever experienced. It was a miracle that both of them weren’t losing their minds.
The two Veemons meanwhile had found themselves playing a safe game of tag throughout the floor, with more than enough places to run, hide and leap on the other.Unlike their respective Tamers, they had become adjusted to themselves quite well, even though they were in weirded by each other initially. If Gummy found his way here, which Vee was sure of since he was a great tracker, he would find this place in no time, and then they can turn this game of tag into a rumble.
To differentiate themselves from one another, the alternative Justice would call himself ‘J.T.’ for short—his initials, while the other Vee had a different name entirely, yet sounded the same nonetheless: ViVi.
“So,” Justice began, shifting into a slouched position and turning to J.T. “You mind telling me why the city’s entirely empty?
J.T, looking down at the city skyline, surveyed him for a few moments before leveling himself with a patient gaze. The smile from his face disappeared. Vee and ViVi immediately stopped their game of tag to listen. J.T. looked at the bracelet on his wrist, the same one that both Vee and ViVi has.
“It all started about two months ago, when me and my friend Austin we’re suddenly transported to the Digital World one day at his place after school. We had got this strange message on our phones and we blacked out all of a sudden. When we woke up, we were in this world that wasn’t like our own.”
He took out his Digivice, which was a D-3, unlike Justice’s D-Watch. He’d seen many Tamers like himself with that same model.
“When then went exploring in a cave, and that’s when we found two Digivices like this. I pulled mine out, and nothing happened at first. It was only when a Digimon attacked us was when this little guy came out.” He pat ViVi on the head, giving him scratches. “Seeing him for the first time, I was scared that he had to carry me to safety.”
Vee interjected. “My brother and I first met Justice when we stole his phone and forced him to take a wild goose chase around The Village of Beginnings chasing us.”
ViVi blinked. “Why...would you steal his phone?"
“Because we thought it was a new kind of food since it was so shiny. I then learned that being shiny doesn’t mean that it tastes good."
J.T continued. “After that, we found ourselves tangled in the middle of a war with a Digimon who calls himself Tactimon. His goal is to not only take over the Digital World, but also our world as well. So one by one, we fought his top lieutenants, met more humans and their Digimon who got sucked in with us, and started to liberate each state one by one.”
Justice wanted to add something, but sensed J.T. was about to get into some heavy stuff, and needed no interjections until he was finished, so he kept his questions and allowed his other self to continue
“One night, there was an attack...I got injured pretty bad that put me in a wheelchair and it took me awhile to heal up. My friends had to leave me behind so they can find a way home.It was honestly the toughest thing I’ve ever been through.” J.T paused, taking a deep breath. “I don’t think I would’ve recovered if it wasn’t for ViVi. He pushed me into helping me heal both physically and mentally. I wouldn’t be the person I am right now, fighting the good fight without him.”
Justice shook his head, not saying a word. He wasn’t showing it, but he was really shocked that this version of him had to go through so much in such a short time. From his appearance alone, it looked like he was still in high school - a freshman at that. Despite everything working out for him, he couldn’t help but feel bad. No one, especially if it’s a younger version of himself, should go through all of that trauma.
“But to wrap it up: Tactimon invaded the human world, starting with Chicago, which forced everyone in the city to evacuate down south.”
“And...what about our family?” Justice queried. “Are they safe?”
J.T. nodded. "Oh yeah. Mom, Dad, Dennis and Jasmine; everyone in our family made it out safe.”
“Wait...dad??” Justice asked, his eyes widen in shock.
“Y-yeah, dad. Why?”
Justice couldn’t believe it: that shitty man was here, still in his alternative counterpart’s life. He was quiet, biting his lip, almost as if he lost his voice. All of his he wanted to see his father again, so he could beat him to a bloody pulp, for everything he did to his family, and to himself for leaving without saying a word.
Then, it started to click: he finally found what separated himself from J.T. Since his dad was in his life, they probably didn't lose their house, making them homeless for a bit, which made his mom spiral into a crippling depression. Plus, he probably didn’t turn into a delinquent in this parallel world, getting into trouble with police with graffiti. On one hand, he was happy for his other self. While on the other hand, he was jealous.
"Uhh, just making sure," he answered.
An explosion was heard from the street. A, small billowing cloud of smoke and fire erupted from the small parked cars from their height. Justice’s D-Watch then started to vibrate. He pulled it out and then looked at the screen: two blips appeared on the screen, with one chasing the other. One of the dots, which was blue, was fading from the screen, no longer bright and vibrate as it should have been. Vee was at his side, staring, his body rigid as he viewed the screen.
“Two Digimon?” Justice questioned. “And they’re nearby.”
“It’s Gummy!” Vee said, “He’s in danger. I know it!
“Danger? What kind of danger?” There should be no one here but us.”
“It doesn’t matter, we gotta save him before he gets...Darn it!” Vee collided his fist into the wall right next to him, making a hole. His body was shaking. “I can’t let this happen. Not again! We should have focused on finding him first instead of coming here!”
ViVi placed a hand on Vee. He could tell he was on the verge of panicking. “Don’t worry. We’ll save him in no time!” He turned to J.T., who nodded, his Digivice radiating a vibrant glow. ViVi was then engulfed in an orange light. In his place, a golden armored dragon appeared, slightly taller than Justice. The two stared at awe. This was way different evolution than Vee’s.
Punching one of the nearby windows out, the Magnamon holsted Vee onto his back and grabbed both Justice and J.T. with both arms, holding them tight. After everyone was secured, he flew out the exposed window, and into the streets below.
“This way!”
Gummy panted, pressing himself against the wall, squeezed between it and the dumpster. His body ached with a pain he hadn’t known before. Every inch of him whined and groaned under the strain and anguish he was putting his muscles and limbs through just trying to stay alive. His heart was beating wildly, any faster he was certain it would burst in his rib cage.
And while his adrenaline ran rampant through his body, powering him on to dodge and escape the constant attacks from Parallelmon, he felt an overwhelming tiredness. Black spotting in the corner of his eyes was a constant distraction. And a nagging feeling in his mind that he might not make it out of this one.
He knew he was playing with him, like a predator gloating their prey before they devoured them.
Suddenly, a heavy foot fall and Gummy’s temporary protection was lifted from right in front of him by the mutant Digimon. The blue item flew across the sky and crashed into a cab that had been parked across the road. Gummy grimaced, hearing the metal screech as the cab’s roof caved in on itself. Parallelmon was unfazed and stared at the small purple dragon Digimon. He looked almost curious, and Gummy wanted to believe a glimmer of respect shone through his eye too. But it was too much to hope for. Parallelmon towered above him, and despite his best efforts, no amount of posturing and puffing himself up would make him look more intimidating that of a house cat.
“There is nowhere left for you to hide.” Parallelmon said, grabbing Gummy by the tail. “Your Tamer and your brother will not come to your aid. Accept your fate.”
Gummy swallowed thickly, teal eyes widen, and he hoped defiant. “Im not...done yet…!” He spat on the Digimon’s face, showing him that he wasn’t going to cowered to a Mega level monster like him.
“I admire your tenacity, little one.” Parallelmon’s voice turned to an almost soothing tone. “But you expect the impossible.” He drew his other hand closer, surrounding Gummy with sparkling and sizzling yellow claws. “You will lose.”
The claws closed in, and Gummy clenched his eyes shut, waiting for the impact. For the claws to pierce and sear his flesh. For the aching to stop, for the pain, for everything to cease. But it never came.
He heard a piercing noise, and through a squinting eye, saw a flash of blue and gold fly past him, knocking into Parallelmon. The Digimon released his grip on Gummy, dropping him to the ground.
“GUMMY!” Gummy’s eyes widen, he saw Justice and Vee running towards him, their faces aghast. It was like having a new lease, a new power boost. Their voices were like a bell, clearing his mind of a darkness that almost caused him to...what? Give in without a fight.
“Gummy!” Vee was on the ground next to him, and had pulled him to his arms. His grip was almost smothering, but it felt so good to have that closeness again. “I was so scared, I thought-“ Vee struggled to talk, he was crying into his vest. Gummy hadn’t realized he was hugging him back just as tightly. “I thought…” Another trailing comment, Vee moved back, and realized him a little.
“I’m okay.” Gummy reassured him with a smile. He noticed Justice’s arm, which was covered with a white strap. That was where he bit him at. The Gumdramon parted his lips. “Sorry...for what happened earlier.”
Justice extended his arm and patted him on the head. “It’s fine.No good deed goes unpunished.”
“Magma Barrage!” ViVi assaulted Parallelmon with a fiery onslaught of punches and kicks, who was down the street. J.T. stood a small distance away.
Gummy started to blink sheepishly, looking at the two newcomers. For a second, he thought that Parallelmon beat him so hard in the head, he was in a delusional coma, but wasn’t seeing things. Those twos scent was identical to that of Justice and Vee’s. “Why...are their two Specs?”
Justice gathered Gummy in his arms. “It’s a long story, I’ll explain everything once we get to a safe distance. We can let them handle whatever the hell that is.”
“No.” Vee argured. “He tried to kill my brother, and I’m not letting him get away with that. He’s gonna pay dearly for messing with us.” He stared into Justice’s face seriously. Justice nodded his head and looked down to the Gumdramon.
“Think you can still fight?" He asked.
Gummy then scoff at him, getting back up to his feet, his usual attitude surfacing back up. “Who do you think you're talking to? I feel like I can take down a hundred of that Digimon.”
With that said, the two dragons dashed towards the fray, following the Magmadramon. An orange and blue light engulfed them as they ran.
“Veemon, Digivolve to… XV-Mon!”
"Gumdramon, Digivolve to...Arresterdramon!”
The twins stood side by side. Vee formed an intense ball of energy in his hand, while Gummy produced blue flames in his hand, then adding it into the sphere. The sphere itself turned unstable, with the shape fluctuating widely. Several streams of blue and purple flames spiraled around the center. With Parrellemon focusing all of his attention on ViVi, he was unaware of the two dragon Digimon charging at him.
“Firenado Spiral!” The two thrusted the attack into him. The unstable ball of energy viciously grinding onto the Mega Digimon, so much so that the attacked managed to push him back, crashing him into the ground, a car crumbling under his weight.
A moment passed where Parallelmon didn’t dare move. The three Digimon advanced on him, a step at a time, and as they did, he recovered. A morbid sounding laugh came from the mutant Digimon’s vocal chords and he charged at them.
“So do you know what the hell this Digimon is?” J.T. asked. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen him before.”
Justice shrugged. “No idea, but he’s real dangerous from what I can tell.” He activated his D-Watch, the Digimon coming up on a holo-screen. “Parallelmon, Mega level. He hunts down and absorbs Tamers who travel to parallel worlds, making himself stronger. Oh shit…”
“So he must be the reason why you guys came here!” J.T. interjected. “It all makes sense.” The teen took out his phone, putting it to his ear. It took a moment for someone to pick up. “Austin. Stop your patrol and bring everyone here. Sending my location now...yeah it’s a big one.” He hung up.
“Who did you call?" Justice asked.
“The cavalry.”
Parallelmon clawed widely at the two champion and the single mega Digimons. ViVi was able to dodge his strikes successfully while Vee and Gummy getting plummet. Parallelmon thrashed. “Cyber Blade!” His voice was a roar of indignation, and Vee and Gummy slammed against each other under the weight of the attack. The two digivolve back into their Rookie forms.
“He’s too strong!” Vee yelled,“Our attacks didn’t even dazed him expect my other self.”
Gummy’s eyes grew wide. “Wait, that’s you?! Damn. He’s cooler than you’ll ever be.”
Justice and J.T. rushed to the two Digimon, then retreated to a safe distance with them to avoid the fight between the two Megas. They were evenly matched from the looks of it.
J.T. then thought for a moment. If things went in their favor and they manage to defeat Parallelmon, Justice and his Digimon would still be stuck here. It was highly unlikely that Parallelmon was responsible for them appearing here. Then it hit him. “I got it!”
Justice turned to him cofusenly. “Got what?”
“You told me that you guys came from a Digital Portal from your D-Watch, right? If that’s the case, there’s a chance that the portal’s still up in your world.”
Justice stared at himself for a moment. He went on his D-Watch, searching for the Digi-Port application. Clicking on it, he aimed the device onto the nearby wall. A Digi-Port quickly materialize. “Hey, you’re right! Nice job other me."
Justice extended his arm out for a fist bump. J.T. returned the gesture. "Great minds do think alike." His casual demeanor quickly changed however. It took Justice a second to notice it before he was prometly kicked into the portal, disappearing from view.
Vee jumped up in surprise. “Hey, what'd you do that for?!"
J.T. responded by picking up the red-scarfed Veemon and throwing him into it. Gummy was the only one left.
“What’s your deal, huh?" He growled. “We could’ve still helped!”
“No.” J.T. answered, looking at ViVi who was shielded himself in an Aura Barrier from one of Parallelmon’s attacks. “You guys can’t stay here any longer. That Digimon’s getting stronger by the minute due to your presence here.” He gave the Gumdramon a smile. “Besides, we can handle things from here. My friends on on their way, so we’ll make short work of them.”
Gummy, staring at his brother’s counterpart, quickly decided to rush to him, only to be held back the teen. He wanted to go to him, and he had the strength to escape J.T.’s grasp, but something in his mind told him not to. Seeing as this was his final moments in this reality, he called out: “HEY OTHER BRO!”
The Magnamon kicked Parallelmon away, turning his attention to the Gumdramon.
“Since you’re Vee’s other self, where’s the other me? Why isn’t he here? Do I even exist in the world?"
ViVi, looking at Gummy, took a moment to answer. His eyes closed, somewhat mimicking a smile if he had a mouth.
“Don’t worry, you do. I’ll bring him back to us, even if I have to drag him kicking and screaming. Now go. Your Justice and Vee need you.”
Puzzled by that answer, Gummy wanted to inquire more, before J.T. managed to push him into the portal, the gate closing shortly afterwards. With that out of the way, J.T. rejoined his Digimon’s side. He then paused at the arrival of his friend Austin and two other Tamers and their partner Digimon: A raptor Digimon, a Bearmon, and a Shoutmon. They then quickly Digivolve into Mega level; it was now three against one.
“So…” J.T. started, crossing his arms to his chest. “Where were we?”
