Training for Up Ahead (Ophi and Cassie)

Caught up in swimming with her weights on, Cassie didn't respond to Valt immediately; focused more on keeping on moving forward, towards the end goal..! The suggestion of them taking a break to eat, though, did seem like a good idea - and she'd only respond to Valt with the briefest of nods, before she turned her attention back to the canal ahead.

Ophelia, though, seemed puzzled by something. "... Why's it a bad idea, to go back into the water right after you eat?" She'd ask, tilting her head a little. She wasn't going to be swimming anytime soon, so it wasn't like this information was particularly relevant to her, but... It didn't exactly make sense to her, either!

Still; Valt's affections and encouragement would help, in motivating her to push forward - her muscles were starting to get a bit tired, even as she persevered! It raised the question, faintly, in the back of her mind on if she'd be able to manage pulling the boat like this - but...

"Hell yeah, Cassie; lookit you..!"

... Before she knew it, she had reached it. The removal of the weights would allow Cassie to finally relax, sighing heavily as she gently held onto Valt with a flipper, and slowly nuzzled him. "That was getting tough, at the end there..." She'd murmur softly; smiling warmly to Valt and Ophelia, at the praise that they both heaped on her. "... But I did it..!"

So the temperature affects your metabolism, and how it processes fat...? Ophelia would hum as she thought it all over, before nodding. Though she never did totally get these biology things, it all made sense to her otherwise. "So, depending on whether you exercise somewhere cold, or exercise somewhere warm, you could influence whether you gain or lose weight?" Ophelia would ask, figuring that was the obvious conclusion to the information that Valt provided. "Damn, that'd make a pretty handy way to lose weight fast!" She'd laugh briefly; though it wasn't exactly a lose-weight-fast trick that she needed. She was already pretty fit!

Instead, she'd simply watch as Cassie and Valt exchanged affection - Cassie giggling cheerily to Valt as he nuzzled her back and booped their noses together. "I'm not a Champion yet, silly..!" She would jokingly poke at Valt, smiling gently and humorously as she climbed up into the boat with the V-mon's help. Though the water against the cold air was, indeed, cold... Cassie could handle it easily, with her blubber..!

She'd simply take a second to grab a towel to dry herself off - the tufts of fur being the only real spots she wanted to dry off - before settling down next to Valt and the heater. With a relaxed hum, she would rest her head on her mate-to-be's knee; her tail wagging lazily as she was able to rest her muscles, after a good bit of workout.

Ophelia, meanwhile, would perk up at Valt's call; glancing to the spot that he had indicated, on the opposite side of the canal. "Sure! Gimme just a second..." She'd respond; backing away from the canal a few paces, so that she had the space for a running start, and crouched down low - bracing herself, muscles bunching up. Once she was prepared, Ophelia would dart forward on all fours - claws digging into the ground for traction - and proceed to LEAP at the last second, sailing through the air.

Though the leap was quite the impressive one. it would - initially - look as though she wasn't going to make it! However, Ophelia didn't expect to cross the canal in one leap; she had a plan. She'd first land atop the boat - rocking it slightly from her impact - and use it like a springboard, bouncing off of it and maintaining her inertia to leap across the rest of the waterway..!

Cassie was unable to help a surprised squeak as the boat shifted underneath them from Ophelia's impact, but was otherwise okay; simply giggling a bit at Ophelia's antics. "You go, Ophi!" She'd cheer with a wave of a flipper, grinning happily.

Ophelia, grinning, would respond back with a thumbs up and a "Hell yeah!" as she landed on the other side of the canal; perfectly dry - save for perhaps the tip of her tail, which she flicked a bit of water off - with her quick thinking.
