Pickle accepted the Starmon suit with a smile and a shrug, more than willing to wear it rather than use their limited stamina for Spirit Evolution. They quickly donned the mascot version of the shop's proprietor before stepping out the door with a handful of fliers and a can do attitude. They Practically skipped up and down the street outside, enthusiastically passing out their fliers and extolling the virtues of Starmon's shop and it's contents to Humans and Digimon alike. They were beaming the whole time, their cheer never diminishing when refused or ignored and only increasing whenever anyone took a moment to listen to what they had to say.
"It's just over there, you really can't miss it!" They gestured grandly to the storefront as they spoke to a curious Weregarurumon. "Starmon's collection of cards for sale is amazing, you're guaranteed to find pretty much whichever ones you're looking for there. And he has spaces to play too! Reasonable prices, great selection, quality service!" They more or less repeated the same speech over and over anytime a passerby was willing to listen, but the enthusiasm in their delivery never dropped, as if each time was the very first. Pickle was determined to advertise the heck out of Starmon's shop and hopefully earn him some new customers.
They only occasionally stopped for a moment to step back inside to grab some more handouts, or take a quick drink, but then they were back outside ready to keep on going with as much pep as before. This job was going to be done right dang it. For the sake of Zachary's vision, they would work as hard as possible.

Panthermon groaned as he saw Pickle put on the Starmon suit. She looked ridiculous to his point of view and no one in their right mind would have wanted to dress like such a silly character, but she took it with gusto. She looked like one of the dressed up characters in Akihabara. She clearly took to the task with the large amount of energy she possessed and made good work sharing the flyers out. While the Weregarurumon took the flyer with interest and others did too, none seemed all too interested to go that moment. However... out of sight of Pickle, a few nefarious characters were watching from a distance. As Cion mentioned, Terminus wasn't always the most friendly of places. (Foreshadowing trouble ) Back inside the shop, the errands were done swiftly-- and now everyone looked at Starmon, now up in Zachary's face angry at the 'request' for money to help sponsor their goals. It was impossible to tell due to him not having a real 'face', is only a pair of two large eyes in a black void. One would imagine he was very, very pissed off at letting any money go for something as unreliable as to lend or sponsor people. The tension was rising for a bit till... SLAP!! A wack of paper on the glass case came as Starmon took out -- seemingly from nowhere-- a strange document about the size of a dictionary. " Here is a contract that backs my services in exchange for key details under 'Digi-law'. I highlighted the details as needed and a summary of conditions on the top!" he answered with a cheerful expression on his 'face'. The fact he changed gears like that was exhausting as he went from extremely tense to cheerful. It made Pickle's usually upbeat energy dwarfed by comparison. The Contract looked like it would take hours to browse through. Zachary didn't even know where to start, but what parts were highlighted he read aloud for the others to hear. " Contract conditions for Starmon's Card Emporium... blah blah... Distribution of representation... 60% share of gross income to sponsor? Unlimited labor free of pay for the duration of sponsorship--" A clear audible growl came from below as Panthermon didn't have to be a business expert to know that the contract was stupidly one-sided. Even Zachary agreed this was more likely a joke as Starmon had a habit of making ridiculous conditions or claims. " Really, Starmon? " Zachary looked to the cheerful-looking star, a glum expression on his face. Decided to emerge, Panthermon placed his paws up on the edge of the glass case and rose up, extending his head as far as he could up to look at Starmon crossly. " Kind of STEEP, don't you think?" he growled, his cat-like eyes starring daggers. " Daww," Starmon said as he looked to Panthermon. " Don't let your silly kitty head worry about the itty-bitty details." he teased. This time the cat lunged his head further up to get up close to Starmon's gaze. " You got space-rocks in your head if you think we would agree to this stupid deal!" Panthermon growled outright. This time, Starmon dropped the teasing and glared at the cat. " Oh you wanna pick a fight with me again, pussy cat? I'll big-bang ya from here to the moon!" he said outright. " Not if I knock you into orbit first!" Panthermon countered. Zachary sighed as he rubbed his head. " Will you two knock it off!" Zachary groaned, always finding it when the two fight to be equally and uncharacteristically immature. Notes: You did your chores, but of course, Starmon is being unreasonable with offering sponsorship. He clearly is missing some planets from his orbit Try to calm the situation and see if they can make options for a better deal.

Oh dear... while usually unaffected by emotional roller coasters, particularly those which did not directly involve her, the tense veil that had manifested itself within the store was nonetheless unpleasant. Not only was this the origin and cornerstone of Zaber's role as an aspiring leader, but the first sponsor he had picked was quite a character of his own. A neophyte, a cranky feline and an avaricious clerk did not make for the best partners. Typically, such infantile, imbecilic disputes would have either amused or aggravated her, but today it was disconcerting given the potential stakes at hand.
Folding her arms as her telekinetic powers ceased for they had fulfilled their purpose, she contemplated if she was supposed to intervene in some way. The two digimons arguing certainly were at each other's throat. But... this was not her challenge to prevail over - it was young Mr. Scryer's who still needed to proof himself and learn what it mean to lead. She could de-escalate the situation by mentioning the riches she possessed, but then the entire point of this endeavor was lost. Nevertheless, perhaps granting the lad at least a nudge in the right direction was acceptable.
While both squabblers were busy tending to their conflict, the silver fennec quietly moved up to the boy and behind his back. Leaping upwards, her minor weight gently clung to his shoulder. Pressing her soft cheek against his, she smirked knowingly and whispered into his ear. "Of course the terms are unacceptable, That is how haggling always starts. Hence you need to persuade him of the benefits he gains for his support. Mercantile Trade 1-0-1. Mention the uncountable card users Nexus will attract, new and old alike. Or why not grant him space for a shop there? Just two of innumerable examples that come to mind, so... tihi... go get him, champ."
Chuckling softly, she released her grip and stepped into the background. An unassuming lady of grace who sometimes served as a mentor... she liked this idea.

Stepping into the shop once more to refresh themself, Pickle found themself walking smack dab into the start of an argument of sorts. Or was it just very tense negotiations? Either way, they stood and listened at Starmon, Zachary, and Panthermon went back and forth over the terms in the contract, the tension in the room rising before they decided to step in to break it a bit. "Starmon! I think you should be seeing more customers soon, there were lots of people who seemed interested in stopping in when they had the time~" They made their way over to the others, stopping behind Zachary to peer over his shoulder at the contract in his hands, the boy now bracketed between them and Cion as they read over some of it.
"Free labor's no good. People won't work hard for nothing most of the time. You don't want people coming here and then just slacking off or doing subpar work." They were looking at the business-minded Digimon from over Zachary's shoulder as they spoke, eyes wide and glimmering. "Your shop deserves more than that sort of thing I know, but people just don't want to work hard if they don't get anything out of it!" With that, they stepped back and, after grabbing a quick drink, made their way to the door of the shop to head back outside.
"Fight on, Zaber! You can do it!" They cheered their Tamer friend on before stepping out to post up in front of Starmon's shop once more, continuing to pass out flyers and encourage people to take up a new hobby. They kept close enough that if more yelling started up they'd be able to hear it, but they didn't want to get in the way of negotiations any more than necessary. Zachary was the leader, and this sort of things wasn't Pickle's strong suit anyway. They could offer advice, but Cion would probably be better at helping out than they would. Instead they'd keep putting effort into attracting future customers for Starmon to put the Digimon in as good a mood as possible.

John and Runa are surprised at Starmon’s contract, and had high hopes for it, but after listening to Zaber’s reading of the highlighted parts, John’s face scrunches up a bit at the working for free part, Runa on the other hand had an unimpressed look. “Yeah look, I agree with Pickle here, people just don’t work that hard for a job if they’re not getting payed for it, that’ll lead to less people coming back to the shop because of poor service, and you’ll lose money.” John said.
Runa waited to let John finish putting his 2 cents in, before speaking up. “The counter offer bit should probably be left to Zaber, this is a deal between the two of you, we’re just trying to keep this conversation calm and reasonable so it doesn’t devolve into pointless bickering, but I think we may be to late for that.” She said, pointing to Panthermon and Starmon with her tail.

Zachary frowned at the two Digimon bickerings. IT was nothing new. Ever since they met, Panthermon and Starmon were like oil and water, especially after the incident they had when they first met due to Starmon being a sore loser. However, he soon felt Cion on his shoulder whisper to him. Her wisdom was wise as he took a breath and the others joined back inside the shop. He felt reassured with her advice, even more so that the others agreed that Starmon's comical demands were... well a joke.
Everyone was putting their faith in Zachary, and it was only then that Zachary felt like he was the push-figure to move things forward. It felt... stressful to be the one everyone put their hopes on, but he took a breath and advanced while he attempted to break up the two death-glaring Digimon.
He started by putting a hand on Panthermon's head to soothe the angry beast and looked to Starmon to steal his focus. "Starmon, be real with me, will ya?" Zachary asked, and the star looked up at him. "Do you honestly find this contract a fair deal? I get it, you love your bits-- but seriously, this isn't a one-sided thing. By sponsoring us financially or even supportively, you'd be bringing more business to yourself. Our group is working to make a community involving both humans and Digimon from both worlds. Think about it. Your business would essentially double by working with us." Zachary explained.
Starmon let out a soft hum and rubbed his 'chin', even though there was nothing there. After a moment, a cheerful look showed in his eyes. "Well... you're probably right. That contract is a bit ridiculous," he said as he picked up the contract-- and comically tossed it behind him, clattering into a few stacks of card packs that went scattering across the floor.
Panthermon turned to Pickle, John, Runa, and Cion. "Told you that star is missing a few cards from his deck," he whispered.
"I heard that, furball!" Starmon replied.
Starmon hummed a bit as he considered the offer. "Your offer has some potential, and you certainly have earned my trust working for me this long. But still... I'll make you a deal," he said with a glint in his large expressive eyes. "You guys play me in a game of Hyper Colleseium, and we'll talk!"
Surprise showed on Zachary's face as he was having dejavu again. This was the same kind of situation he had before when he first met Starmon and what led to him working with Starmon after their accident. "Um, you sure about that? YOu um, didn't exactly take the last game too well and..."
"You aren't going to blow up your own shop again with a meteor shower again if you lose again, are you?" Panthermon said bluntly, pretty much telling the others what happened.
A vein of anger showed on Starmon's --- point? "DUDE, that only happened once! You want me to turn you into a throw rug?!"
"Oh, get a room you two..." Zachary joked at their squabbling and turned to the others. "Um, so do you guys know how to play the Digimon Card game?" Zachary asked.
Still, despite the squabble with Panthermon, Starmon was still attentive to the others as Zachary asked if they knew about the game itself.
Note: It seems Starmon wants to play a game of Digimon cards to determine if he would like to work with NEXUS. If you have played Hyper Colleseum, or Old school Digimon TCG or any variation from the games, share so as IC experience. If not, you will be given a rough tutorial on how to play instead.

Finally... some resemblance of sanity and equity had entered the frenzy that was happening within the walls of this establishment. Fortunately, Zachary had at last grasped the function he had to serve as a leader of an organization. With words of support and encouragement to bolster his confidence, he displayed admirable aptitude in bargaining and utilizing his noteworthy charisma. Keeping calm and composed, the nonsense that was the initial contract was discarded at once.
Folding her arms, Cion let out a single, quiet chuckle. She was pleased to see this success, though this was of course only one challenges of uncountable to come. And next time, the lad likely had to be more proactive and not heavily rely on the assistance of his votaries. Still... she was favorably impressed, for it was an acceptable proem for Nexus. Nonetheless, there a condition for them to fulfill lest a collaboration was forfeit after all.
Playing Hyper Colloseium - quaint. Shaking her head in response to the boy's question, she untied her Infini-Store from of her short, green scarf and activated it. Retrieving a holographic display at will, she evidently searched the seemingly infinite Net for tutorials and guides on how to play the nonlethal version of this card game. Leaning against a corner, she quickly acquainted herself with the simple yet extensive rules and richness in playstyles.
As to be expected, it did not take long for her eyes to linger on the effects of otherwise relatively weak specimen. Finesse, tactics and attrition were her forte after all.

John is relieved that the negotiations have calmed down, and then is slightly surprised that it turned to needing to play a card game to continue. “Well, this is unconventional, but I’m down to play, how bout you?” He asked Runa, who nodded. “Yeah but only problem is that we never played the game before, could use some pointers before we start.” She said.
John then begins to feel concerned about the possibility of Starmon throwing a fit if he lost, turning to the side and whispering to Runa. “We don’t have to win right, we just gotta play?” Runa pats him on the cheek with her paw. “Don’t worry, unless we have some beginners luck we should be fine. Now the others I cant say for sure, but fingers crossed.” She whispered, crossing two of her claws .
John, feeling better, turns back to Zaber, “So, how do we play this game?” He asked.

It seemed many out of the group didn't know anything about the Digimon Card Game. Perhaps they were not into TCGs or other forms of card games, but this was an effective pass time for Digimon to interact that didn't involve 'mortal combat'. Starmon looked a bit sad that they didn't know much about the game. Luckily, Zachary had -- since he had beaten Starmon before at the game. He had gotten the same tutorial before from Starmon. He knew the game, so he probably was best to explain it. Digging into his pockets, Zachary took out all the cards he had on him and placed them on a table. " Okay, I will try to be as straight-forward with this as I possibly can," Zachary explained as he washed his cards out across the table to show them to Cion , John and Runa. " The card game involves a deck of Digimon cards that you draw from the 'net ocean', or main deck. You pick a rookie card from the deck, anyone you want, and place it in an active zone. There are a few places on the game board that a single player control. Digimon Box, Dark Zone (graveyard), Evolution, Option and Modification boxes. The game is played by using the Digimon card you pick and cards in hand to evolve and augment your Digimon before they do battle with whatever cards your opponent prepared."
"Each Digimon card has its usual information-- its name, level, attributes, and the attacks they have, usually with numbers next to them to indicate how strong it is. As you can see, those attacks are highlighted by color and symbol. Some Digimon has unique abilities that helps them in battles. More so there is a score count at the bottom. What is important to know that when two digimon battle in the card game, the opponent's battle type-- red, yellow, or green, determines the attack of your digimon, and vise versa."
You use the cards you have to either digivolve your digimon, either with their evolution chain or via the use of other cards to help them based on what you collected. Same goes with modify cards. As you begin to battle, you can play the modify cards and option cards to change the conditions of battle, boost effects, or effect your enemies. If you win a battle , you use the score on the digimon card to calculate how many points you get. First-person to score a total of 1000 points, wins. " Zachary tried to keep it as simple and straight forward as possible. All the while, Panthermon watched as Zachary had placed the cards in the examples of where they should go on a make-shift mat for each card. " Do you have any questions?" Zachary asked. All the while, Starmon waited behind the desk, eager and itching to see how the others liked the game. Notes: Digimon Card Game Rules here. Rules might be slightly changed based on English version I used to play that counted points up rather than down I encourage you to read these as this will help with upcoming posts or to better your knowledge of the game.

John and Runa listen to the rules, getting the general gist of how the game works. After Zaber gave the explanation John nods, "Alright, I think I understand, I'll get the hang of it as we play." He said, "I'll just play this by ear, I don't want to keep everyone waiting with questions that can be learned through play." Runa then replied, and the 2 of them sat in chairs across from each other.
When it came to games, John and Runa where determined to beat each other, when one would win, the other would work on devising a plan to beat them. One time John won a game of Uno by saving a draw 4 for last, so next game, Runa didn't use any draw 4 cards until her hand was just draw 4's.
When John sat down, he turned to Starmon, "So I assume you have some decks ready for people who want to give the game a try?" he asked.

"Simple enough." Cion stated calmly, recognizing that the tutorials she had read aligned with the simplified explications of young Mr. Scryer. Hence there were not many questions left, except for a crucial one of course. "However, I have but a single card at my disposal, and I doub that it is legal given its unique status. How shall we play without proper decks?" She asked kindly, implying that perhaps a little bit of sponsorship from Starmon might come into question. Naturally, she would prefer to customize the powers that were available, but she was willing to adapt to whatever she had at hand.

Zachary felt glad he got the major points out on the card game, but it was merely scratching the surface. There were a variety of cards, effects, and strategies that went into this game. While the rules were concrete, the effects on each card could augment the rules in a variety of ways. So it came down to what cards you had, hence how many TCG went. But at least the others got the grasp of it. However, the issue was finding a proper deck for them at this point. " I got you covered if you want. I sell starter decks here," Starmon said with a cheerful tone. " That will be 15,000 bits, please." Panthermon cast a growl in Starmon's direction as he really was a money-grubber at times. Zachary too shook his head. " Guys, don't worry. I can do this--" " Eh, not so fast!" Starmon said, pointing a large finger close to Zachary. " You can't play against me. I want them to play me! So one of you pick who. " A sigh escaped Zachary this time as he stacked up his cards. " Fine, how about this," he said as Starmon rounded the table and produced a deck of his own. " They play, but they can use any of my cards to borrow. Deal?" Zachary asked. Starmon had his eyes closed and nodded, agreeing to it. Zachary handed the cards to John and Cion to use for the battle. They would have to play against Starmon. It might not have to be much to beat him, but enough to keep him entertained. " Alright! Let's play," Starmon cheered as he drew his cards, having a hand of 5. With one picked out, he placed a Gotsumon card on the battlefield, and waited for the others to start. Finding a card from his hand, he took one and put it into the dark area-- and placed another on top of the Gotsumon he had. "Gotsumon, Digivolves to ... STARMON!" Starmon bellowed, " Now come on and set up your rookie and Digivolve.Notes: Bonus Challenge The game starts now. You may use cards in this link here to use to battle Starmon, owned by Zachary. Use these cards or modify cards from the original game to change the conditions of the game. Each post, you will see a link with a Digimon Card, indicating the Digimon Starmon is using. Using the names or cards from Zachary's list, find its counterpart on Wikimon via the search, and show the link. You may also use in-game modify cards not part of the collection, or improvise challenges. However, you may not make one-turn kills or instant win strategies. Play fair and have fun

Well, so much for a fair fight. 2 against 1, and with cards which where not even their own. On the one hand, their opponent was rich in experience and likely potent cards, while they had multiple angles from which to pursue their approach. Ultimately, it was only fun and games, but admittedly she desired to win and show the slightly impudent clerk who was boss. However, she did not intend to do so without her partner, and a lack of patience. "Do you wish to make the first move, John?" She asked kindly, curious what her ally had in mind.

John looks through the cards, then again, and again, muttering to himself as he tries to figure out what to do, but no matter how many times he looked at it he just couldn't wrap his mind around it. "Uh... I think I'm not going to be able to play this game." He admits, getting an odd look from his partner. "It can't be that hard, let me try." Runa said, grabbing the cards that John hands her.
She takes a few moments to look at the cards, but then she gets confused, "Well, I don't know what to say, I think we're going to pass, anyone else want to give it a shot?" She asked.

Starmon was all ready to play the game. To have a fun match-- but he now faced people who, despite the rules shown to them-- just couldn't make a move. The whole point of this was to give Starmon a fun game without Zachary, since he had bested the Digimon before. Seemed the plan went south since neither one could figure out a move to play. Starmon soon looked 'disappointed'. " Seriously? You guys... I like winning but this is just sad. Then again, I guess you fools could use a sharp wit like me on your team." Starmon said, now stroking his 'chin'-- even though there was none-- in thought. Zachary sighed, wishing the game concept would of happened. Guys... I never played before when I faced Starmon and I still kicked his--" Zqachary stopped, as now he made a mistake, and Panthermon growled, shaking his head. " SLOWLY I TURN...!" Starmon growled, looking to Zachary crossly. Most of them would probably wonder just what happened when they first played, or meet for that matter. *Jingle-Jingle* The bell of the door rang. Like the drop of a dime, Starmon jolted-- changing his emotion so easily he appeared like some kind of cartoon. " Welcome to Starmon's card Emporium. How can I -- HELL NO!!" he growled. Looking to the door, Zachary and the others could see the new 'customers' and they didn't look like them. Three Digimon entered the building. Three Digimon, all of them the same species. They were a strange monkey in different colored fur, with tails and belts. Their attachments looked strange as hell, but even stranger-- was their feet were bare and they had 'shoes' on their forearms. Their faces were covered with visors, making them look almost cyborg-punkish. "Well ya look at this dump!" The head monkey boasted, "Guess business isn't going so well for you, Starmon." The Targetmon spoke aloud. " Not you guys again!!" Starmon fumed. " Get out of here! I only let in customers, not thugs! Now get!" "EH? You got some nerve, buddy!" Another Targetmon boasted. "We already gave you plenty of time. Now its time to pay our 'protection insurance program'. " " For the last time, you harry backed morons-- I ain't giving you a bit of my hard-earned money!" Starmon shouted. Needless to say, the Targetmon were a shady bunch to the Humans and their Digimon. Like Cion said, Terminus wasn't as friendly as it had appeared if it harbored thugs like these guys.
