'So this guy thinks that just because he has money that I can be easily bribed or bought. His delusion is almost cute.' Stacy thought as she zipped the pocket in her purse she put the D-Tector in so she wouldn't have it fall out again. Zippers were quite the handy invention.
The young woman who the party was apparently thrown for asked if she was okay and Stacy said "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just a little clumsy and I never outgrew it." It seemed she had seen the D-Tector she stuffed in her purse and was about to question her about it. The man that was Rosaria's father seemed to have an interesting sense of timing meaning he may of seen the digivice as well. The question was, would he know what it was? Stacy had a strong feeling that Rosaria knew about digivices as well judging by her reaction.
She then saw the gift given to her by the man who offered her a job. The rose was indeed beautiful. Stacy liked beautiful things like flowers but a man didn't need to spend a lot of money to date her. Heck just spending time with her was good enough for her.
Rosaria's father was still nearby and it was only a matter of time until he either mentioned something about her digivice or went back with his daughter where the gifts were.

In due course, the gift giving had begun and so Faustein had summoned the waiter to whom he had handed his gift bag earlier to retrieve it and bring to him. Then, he had waited till every one of the other guests had handed over their gifts to actually stride confidently up the long, 1000 step staircase and then present his own gift to Rosaria and her fiance. Interestingly enough, while most of the other guests were either panting or perspiring noticeably, Faustein did not have any such problem. In fact, he did not even become out of breath even after ascending and descending the 1000 step staircase as rapidly as he did just then, which would indicate that he had a considerable degree of cardiac reserve, though not as much as the best of athletes. Still, he had enough to match that of the Alanis family at the very least as none of them seemed winded even a little from their goings and comings up and down that staircase.
Alright, phase 2 complete, now to commence phase 3...
He thought silently smirking as he descended the staircase and then walked over to his seat and sat down to wait for the bride and her fiance to open each gift in its turn. There were several types of gifts from cars to perfumes to rare delicacies and so on. Then, there was his gift of a title deed to an entire private island out in the Pacific Ocean. Apart from that there was one other notable gift and that was a single rose which apparently was given by Ryuto to his bride to be. Of all the gifts, this had been the one to make the most impression on the young lady, but that was understandable...after all, roses had a special place in Rosaria's heart and that was fairly well known. After everyone had settled down again, Faustein watched as Rosaria's father took up the scroll which contained his gift of a private island to Rosaria and then unfurled it to read for a few minutes and afterwards, he came down the stairs and headed over to where Faustein was sitting and patiently waiting for the events to progress onward. Faustein of course was not intimidated into having some sort of knee jerk reaction and standing up in a haphazard fashion like those around him had when they saw Rosaria's father approach with such a seemingly intense aura around him.
"That was quite the gift, Mr. Kuroyakushi. Initially, you've had my interest but now, you have my full attention. So I bid you...arise and pray tell, what is your objective in giving such a monumental gift? Furthermore, explain to all present here about how you came to acquire this land since you seemed to give it away so very freely."
He said in that same authoritarian, alpha male type voice he had during the gift giving and then waited to see what Faustein would say and do in response.

As Rosaria was opening one gift after the next her father made his own journey to Stacy. "I have several connections, if you need better work or something call that number. Don't ask why, it's just my daughter and son have taken a liking to you, so I wish to see the reasom." He would walk away knowing this girl is a spirit user, his smile while walking shown he was pleased, watching her closely could up his power if that girl posesses some skills with it, but he wouldn't mention that he's also one, not taking any risk with Rosaria finding out, and he came back and opened the scroll.
As it was opened, even the Alanis family would be shocked, all but one, yep her father but truly he found this impressive, Ryuto couldn't even hide it. "This is." Truly who could afford that? Well other than us. "Aww, you can have your honeymoon their, a lone island it's perfect." The person who said this hugged Rosaria from behind, it being her mother. "Mum!" Rosaria shouted blushing bright red.
Not one sight didn't look surprised, Rosaria made her way down also just behind her father. "I thank you to Mr. Kuroyakushi, but isn't this too much? I wouldn't wish your family to lose this valuable asset, just because of me, but I do thank you and I can't refuse a gift so easily not one of this calibre, as it would belittle your name and disrespect your family, so I thank you again." Rosaria said showing respect towards the man.
Ryuto looked at him trying to measure , only thought he came up with on why he got this for them is....Was he trying to gain Rosaria's affection? If so, he couldn't let his eye's leave this new man. "I thank you as well, but I would also like to hear the reasons your being so kind to us." He said waiting with everyone else.

As Rosaria's father offered Stacy his phone number after mentioning if she needed better work she could call that. Stacy accepted it out of politeness stuffing it in the depths of her purse where it would likely be lost when she cleaned her purse of any excess paper that would gather in there over time. She may not of had any connections in Japan but she had managed just fine so far living on her own. What she found weird is he only approached her after she dropped her D-Tector on the floor. Could he know something she didn't? Who knew? Deciding not to worry to much since she wasn't sure she would see the man again, she went back to eating her food.
Then again she also seemed to be a magnet for trouble whether intentional or not was hardly the point. For once she was glad that she seemed to avoid trouble but, knowing her luck, she didn't know how long that would last.

Things were finally starting to get interesting, or at least they were for Faustein anyway. He had noticed how Rosaria's father, aka the head of the Alanis family pay close attention to and interact with Stacy, and when he did, he had seemed to possess some manner of secret information about her, not that he revealed it as he walked away, of course.
Well now, it would seem that there is more to the man than first meets the eye. This should be intriguing indeed.
Faustein had thought silently with a smirk and had then watched the Alanis family finally open his gift to them, or rather to their only daughter, Rosaria, and her fiance, Ryuto. Needless to say, exactly as he had calculated, they were appropriately shocked...as was everyone else in the audience as well. Faustein smirked even more when he heard the words Rosaria's mother had for her upon beholding such a lavish gift as they had caused the young lady to become quite flustered in response. However, he let the matter rest since, now was the moment of truth...that is to say, his up-close encounter with Rosaria's father. The older man had approached him and then bidden him to arise and explain to all present just how he had come into the possession of such a territory. Shortly afterwards, Rosaria herself had come down as well and joined her father in accosting Faustein, though she had done so in a far less demanding tone than had her progenitor. Then, there was her fiance, Ryuto, who had obviously been impressed and had accompanied Rosaria when she had come over to meet with Faustein. The man was now gazing at Faustein in a way which was clearly an attempt to take his measure
Oh? What have we here? Does he perhaps suspect that there are ulterior motives from my side behind the giving of this island as a gift?
Regardless, Faustein decided to address them in turn, first Rosaria's father, followed by her, and then finally, Ryuto. To that end, Faustein arose slowly and calmly and while looking Rosaria's father directly in the eyes as far as his height allowed, he began by greeting him
“Mr. Katsu Alanis, a veritable legend in the world of big business, a man whose illustrious lineage stretches all the way back to the Meiji era no less, one whose ancestors were crucial in Japan’s radical transformation from its ancient past to its current modern form, one who took the Alanis to even greater heights and became one of the current Big Four, a shrewd investor and business mogul with a plethora of product lines, shares, and other holdings such as private islands to his name among other things. Your preeminent reputation surely precedes you."
With that introduction out of the way, Faustein smirked briefly and then proceeded
"Ah, well you see, this story dates back to my younger days when I had taken up residence with my maternal grandparents here in Japan while attending Tokyo U.'s medical school. In order to prepare me adequately for my eventual position as sole heir to the CEO position of my family's keiretsu, they would administer several tests wherein they would take my measure. One of these involved turning 10 million yen into...a 50 million within the span of exactly...1 week. Needless to say, no one was allowed to assist me in this endeavor."
As he explained his story while wearing that trademark smug smirk on his thin, firm lips; Faustein held up his fingers to represent the numbers being mentioned and paused at the appropriate times to further amplify the dramatic tension in the milieu that was currently pervading the room. In response, the lesser business families and their members were, as expected, shocked by the revelation. So, he continued his explanation, wondering what the Alanis family and Ryuto would think once his tale reached its conclusion
"Naturally, this is what would be expected from another of the Big Four of Japan...so, the first thing I undertook was a period of extensive research into the crème de la crème among the various small but modernized and prosperous islands throughout the world. Finally, I had found the ideal target, one such island did exist indeed...in the Pacific Ocean. Once this initial phase of my overall plan was complete, it came time for me to proceed to phase 2, namely, further extensive research into those among the plethora of industries and business groups resident on this island that were not only the highest contributors to the island's economic upkeep, but also those that treasured their employees the most. After that, I began to invest in those industries and business groups while simultaneously buying up their shares and other holdings, one by one. Finally, after the dust had settled, I had in my possession all of the overall holdings, shares or otherwise, of each of these top 10 business groups on the island."
Faustein paused there to gauge the reactions of his audience before resuming the explanation
"That was not the end of my plan, of course, for afterwards, I used the fact that they treasure their employees highly against them. This sudden and unforeseen takeover had threatened to force all of the employees of these various business groups into abject poverty due to the loss of their professions which had been the sole source of livelihood for them and their families. So, just as they were wallowing in despair, I proposed a solution, which was of course to sell back 48% of the shares of these companies that I had in my possession to their original owners...the caveat being of course, at a greatly increased amount for each company. Furthermore, I also orchestrated the takeover of all the other smaller industries and even the individual vendors on the island and thereby doing, not only met the 50-million-yen target for my test, but also surpassed that by another 50 million yen for a total of 100 million yen."
He paused there again to ensure that his audience was following along and then finally concluded his tale
"Thus, I came into the unchallenged possession of an entire island and all its contents."
Once his address to Rosaria's father was finished, he turned to Rosaria and greeted her with a brief bow though still with that smirk on his thin firm lips
"Ah, Ms. Alanis, the only daughter of the Alanis Family and a young lady who possesses prodigious talent not only in the arts of Japanese archery and Aiki but also with a remarkable ability to grow flowers, especially roses, better than even the best of professionals. On a related note, you also known to have a certain fascination with and a personal theme that is aligned to roses. In conclusion, you are also a kind soul but one who is not afraid to be assertive when the situation calls for it…most impressive indeed. Chaíromai pou se gnorízo."
The last part of his greeting to her was spoken in a perfect emulation of a native Greek accent which he had temporarily switched to from his natural German-Japanese mixed accent smoothly without missing a beat. After that, he continued on with his response to her regarding her worries about his holdings being adversely affected by giving away the island to her
"Before I begin, however, there is one facet to this that I feel I must correct you upon...you see, this island is not owned by my family, it is mine and mine alone. Now, there is no cause for worry, Ms. Alanis, for my acquisition of this island was merely an exercise in the famous Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan strategy. You see, this island is but one of several that I personally own, so giving one away in this manner hardly makes a dent in my personal holdings. That said, you are very welcome indeed, and I sincerely hope that you and your fiancé enjoy all that it has to offer in the way of entertainment and rest. I also look forward to hearing your feedback on the various developmental projects I have set in motion on that island and the area surrounding it."
Finally, he turned to Ryuto and addressed him as well in a similar fashion to how he had started with Rosaria
"Mr. Ryuto, I perceive, you are equally renowned as you are the latest of rising stars in the world of big business, a once in several generations prodigy, a capable swordplay instructor of the Heavenly Sword Sect style at the associated temple dojo owned by your family, and of course…the one man among the multitude in the country who has garnered the attention of the head of one among the Big Four, specifically of the head of the Alanis Family, rather noteworthy. Freut mich, sie kennenzulernen."
As he had with Rosaria earlier, Faustein spoke the last part of his initial address to Ryuto in an impeccable pure German accent which he had temporarily switched to from his natural German-Japanese mixed accent smoothly without missing a beat. Then, he smirked once more and afterwards, continued on to address the man’s concerns, both spoken and not
"My reasons for being so magnanimous? Well, let me commence by allaying those unspoken worries of yours, then. If you are perhaps under the suspicion that I am somehow a competitor for the affections of Ms. Alanis here, fear not, my objective here are neither the hand of nor the affections of Ms. Alanis....no, not in the least. Not only is she 12 years too young for me, but also my profession and research are my sole concern as I have devoted every fiber of my being to them. Thus, I do not care for such things as marriage or even romance for that matter.”
He paused there to gauge the reactions among the audience and especially Ryuto, Rosaria, and Mr. Alanis before pressing onward
“My design in the gifting of this island is in fact bipartite, the first aspect being, of course, in the way of congratulating both you and Ms. Alanis on your engagement. The second is to extend the olive branch from the Kuroyakushi Clan to the Alanis Family, along with a business partnership proposal for a recent project of ours which will be entering the market before too long."
At the end of this, he fell silent at last and then waited to behold any and all reactions there would surely be to his revelations and performance.

Mostly giving Stacy's will, he knew she wouldn't take his offer, but still worth a shoot, it didn't matter that much, giving he didn't see any skill from this young female yet with said powers. Ryuto did think it was ulterior motives behind this gift, it might not be what he's thinking, but had some idea. Rosaria's father would see this young man wouldn't back down it was quite impressive, but was it just cockiness? Or could this young man back it up.
He let out a smile, but one that could be seen as just being amused by this young star. "I can see you know about me, but don't think that alone will make me impressed, anyone could find that out with a little research." He would keep on listening to see if this new information would amuse him.
What he said next did have him somewhat interested. "I see, that's quite the story, but I do wonder with all them achievements what is it you need from me?" He said smiling in the same way as before, as everyone looked in amazement, while everyone but two people, one Rosaria's father and another herself.
It's true what he's done is incredible, but he's just trying to show off that's why just for a moment, her father and herself had the same look in their eye's one of power, and might, their aura even matching. Rosaria didn't like his little story, from it she could tell that he took full advantage of people's hearts and trust towards others, her father smiled it's rare when he could feel this from Rosaria, which caused the Alanis head to laugh a little happy everyone shocked for words.
"I like that, you used people in the same way I would, pretty well done, and not only that my daughter has taken note of it. If only you were younger." Rosaria looked at Faustein, that glare still visible. "So you used people to boost your own strength without possessing any of your own?" She asked coldly, and direct what Faustein had everyone gasping for air, but the way Rosaria was talking made them gain it back.
That smile he had, and the way he bows didn't change how Rosaria was towards him. "I thank you for looking into my background, and for your gift, and you're correct, it's time when I'm forced to become very assertive, like when people of power think it's okay to push around the weak." He even knew Greek something she did as well, truly this man did do much research.
His tone might change giving Rosaria's did.
"Not bad at all, I can see why my father-law is impressed by you." He has given a bow as well showing respect.
People were shocked he wasn't after Rosaria, but giving the age difference. After talking about his plans everyone was shocked, but waiting to see what the man of the hour would say, he smiled and seeing how annoyed Rosaria was he would do it just for that, but there were other factors giving this young man's background, and knowledge. "I am willing to hear you out in private, but with my daughter so she can learn the business." He looked at Rosaria as they looked each other down, Rosaria finally gives in, sighing. "Fine." She said walking away in a corner of the room to talk about this, everyone stayed quiet afraid to speak up.

Seemed like Faust had impressed Mr. Alanis but for all Stacy knew the mad scientist might have been testing the waters or even maybe trying to push his luck. Who knew? 'At least if things get out of hand I can offer Faust a ride on the motorcycle in my digivice.' Stacy thought with a light chuckle. Knowing the trouble the two of them tended to attract trouble almost everywhere they went for some reason the thought amused her more.
Spotting Rosaria head for the corner of the room made her curious and she got up from her seat making her way over to the girl. "Is there something bothering you? If you aren't much of a party person I can understand." Stacy said in a kind and gentle tone so she wouldn't startle the girl. From there it had become easier to see and hear everything. The people who were looking nervous didn't bother her but at least they didn't have to make themselves obvious.

Faustein had expected this sort of reaction as that was the data generated by the research he did on the Alanis family and on Ryuto had indicated when he was perusing it several hours earlier prior to his arrival at the engagement party. So, just as he had not been fazed in the slightest by Rosaria's father, the head of the Alanis family, and his attempts at intimidation, Faustein was similarly nonplussed and kept a perfectly impassive and inscrutable facial expression throughout Rosaria's retort and critical reprimand in response to hearing about his actions. Then, when his turn to speak came up, he had replied without missing a beat in a perfectly even and calm tone of voice, first to the head of the Alanis family
"Ah, so we have an accord then, at least in this initial phase. Perhaps it would be prudent to undertake this private meeting about our business deal after this engagement party is complete. That said, there are no qualms on my side about holding it here and now either and of course, Ms. Alanis is free to accompany us as well."
Then, he had turned to Ryuto and addressed him as well with a return bow, albeit very brief, and still with that same calm and composed facial expression and tone of voice
"Indeed and on another note, perhaps there will be some opportunities for us to do business as well in the near future."
After that, he had turned to Rosaria and addressed her while he still had her attention, of course speaking in a calm, composed manner as he had to her father and Ryuto earlier
"Humans may have exited the jungles and savannahs of Africa several millennia ago, Ms. Alanis, but perhaps if you examine human society today, you will realize that it is still very much under the influence of the ancient edict commonly called the "Law of the Jungle". Now then, regarding my decision, in that situation and with that objective, it was merely the most logical and most efficient path of choice to the completion of my prime directive and being the student of logic that I am, I selected it. Your father seems to understand this quite well, to be sure."
He had paused there for a few moments to let his words sink in before resuming
"Furthermore, it is not as though the employees of those companies are now destitute, for all of them have been subsumed into my keiretsu and thus under my command for the rest of their days. Therefore, despite the loss of their sovereignty, that island as well as the others under my control are FAR more prosperous and advanced in every regard now than they ever had been in the past."
However, it seemed that his words had fallen on deaf ears for Rosaria walked away shortly afterward, at which point he saw Stacy head over to her and try to engage her in conversation, so for the time being, he turned his attention back to the Alanis family head and Ryuto and fell silent, waiting to see and hear their reactions to his remarks and actions.

It might be best to do that, her father would follow this young man's idea. "I agree we will do it on another day, I would give you my information, but something tells me you have done enough research to get in contact with me on your own accord." Her father spoke, as Ryuto would now be next. "Maybe so, only time will tell." Ryuto said in a calm manner unlike Rosaria's father who's more commanding.
Before she left Rosaria would answer his little comment. "That is the truth, but." If aura could be seen Rosaria would show itself, her eye's, a commanding way about Rosaria shown matching her father if anything, it surpassed his right now giving he's not annoyed, Ryuto even step one foot back. "But that law is created by the strongest, so whose law will people be following yours or mine?" Her gaze so sharp that it could cut past metal.
Her father had a smile one off excitement, seeing Rosaria says this, made him think she could overcome anyone and anything. He really needed to make a deal with Faustein if he could make his daughter become this dangerous towards someone.
Stopping once more, not turning this time she would say towards him. "You still try to control them with ruthless actions, acting like some type of deity stepping in." Now she would be in that corner. "Faustein, you are someone worthy to keep around if my daughter acts like that in front of you, only a few have truly got to her, I could count it on one hand." He held his hand out to prove he'll make a deal next time he contacts him, ready to shake.
But as Stacy came over Rosaria would drop that way about herself towards more of a calm relax nature, letting out a smile Rosaria would say. "Oh I'm fine, just dealing with the same type of people everyday can get tiring, who only think about power or money." She said sighing showing how exhausted it is dealing with them.

The feeling Stacy was getting from both Rosaria's father and Ryuto was that of two alpha males trying to show who was superior when around Faust. It seemed to her that Faust gave off a presence that elicited many a mixed reaction both positive and negative but that seemed to be just Faust in general. Or that was how that appeared around Stacy with Rosaria's father seemingly being the more commanding presence. It seemed Rosaria was more like her father than she appeared at first glance but who was she to judge. Many people that knew her family would say she was a lot like her mother in personality as well as appearance.
As Rosaria answered her Stacy replied "I know how exhausting it can be when dealing with other alpha personality types but over the years I've adapted and found ways for an alpha type like myself to be around other alphas without making them feel threatened." Despite being an alpha personality type she gave of the gentle aura of a protector. She probably would have made a good mother as well.

Faustein nodded in response to the question that Rosaria's father had asked of him and after noting what Ryuto had said as well, he remarked to both of them
"Indeed, and so we have ourselves an accord."
He was about to say more to them, but then it seemed that his remarks and actions regarding the island he had gifted her and Ryuto had somehow miffed her greatly. So, as he looked on, he saw her gaze and tone sharpen considerably, so much that it even made her fiance, Ryuto, step back a bit and her father, Mr. Alanis, to smile in amusement before noting that if Faustein could indeed cause such a transformation of demeanor in Rosaria, that he was a valuable business partner indeed. Of course, even though Rosaria's changed demeanor had apparently affected her fiance, Ryuto, it did not make Faustein budge even a little. He remained firm in the same upright, straight-back, confident stance as he had been till now in his interaction with them and even had a small smirk on his face as he heard her reprimand of him, turning and responding to her just before she went out of earshot
"Well, Ms. Alanis, if the subjects you are referring to are the employees belonging to any of the companies or groups that are affiliated with the Alanis family, then as would be expected, they would heed your will. On the other hand, if the subjects you are referring to are those of my family's keiretsu or the ones on that island, then of course, they would obey me instead. If the subjects are neither of the aforementioned ones, then perhaps it depends on the particulars of the situation at hand."
Thus, he laid out all of the situations his mind had conceived of in response to her query in the same, chillingly calm, perfectly even tone he had been using with the same composed expression on his face and then turned back to her father to remark
"Oh, I am one of those few, eh? Well now, this will certainly a most intriguing experience for me and a lucrative experience for both sides then."
Saying thus, he accepted the handshake Mr. Alanis offered as a sign of the deal and shook it the usually accepted three times, with a grip that was firm, but yet not having an overbearing manner, all the while having a polite smile on his face. The idea was that he wished to show him that while he was more or less cordial, he was not one who could be cowed by any manner of intimidation or intensity of aura, regardless of the source. He did notice Stacy heading over to Rosaria, so for now, he decided to leave Rosaria's handling to her instead. After that, he fell silent and waited to see what further effects if any that his words and demeanor would have on the occasion and those involved in it. Of course, he did have a query for Rosaria to counter her argument, but for now he let the matter rest in peace.

Oddly, her father finished talking towards that person very quickly not sure why? Was his idea, bad? Or was it to much that it couldn't be said all in one, at this very important time? Well her father would try and focus on what was more worthy, and right now that's his child getting married towards someone who will inherent everything he possessed well not all giving she has two brothers. "I can see what you mean." Giving a very kind smile Rosaria knew what she meant but. "I have done the same, it's just harder when dealing with family." Rosaria would be called back by her father saying her farewell towards Stacy. "It was nice meeting you, I hope one day we meet again." Rosaria said leaving, walking back over towards her father following his orders, and sitting beside husband to be, no longer smiling, one might even say she was not happy, in time they would leave in many limos.

Stacy watched as Rosaria rejoined her family before she returned to her table to finish her food. With any luck Rosaria would figure out things involving her fiancé. Something about him made her uneasy but maybe it was because of how clingy he seemed to be. As for families, she knew a little bit about how complex they could be since she had two brothers herself that she hadn't seen in awhile. As she finished her food and paid for it she got up and headed for the door before glancing back. 'If only her brother was a little older I would of considered him as someone to date. Ah well, plenty of other fish in the sea and surely there are men about my age.' Stacy thought as she headed for the door. She planned to change out of the dress when she got home since she preferred to wear pants anyway.
