Well, that had been unexpected. Magnus wasn’t sure on how to react to both Nanami’s and Cream’s words regarding the young girl’s health. He was a bit taken aback at first, even though he managed to recover somewhat quickly. “That works. I’ll be trusting you to do your very best, Nami. Everyone’s gonna be vital for this operation, after all.”
It was only then when the brunette realized that his hand was still extended. Whoops; he was quick to retract it back to its previous position after storing the pills once again.
As surprising as it was for Nanami to know how babies came into existence, Magnus wasn’t interested on explaining that, mostly because he wasn’t exactly a fan of babies, as everyone would soon find out! Luckily, the births went out smoothly, and every baby was more or less accounted for at the moment.
The Pitchmon had been the one who had the warmest welcome for sure. She stared at the person holding her for a second, then around her, and then she finally… spoke?
“Hi Nanami!” Her voice was full of energy, almost as if she had been waiting to be born. “Nice to meet you too! My name’s Mai and, uh... Would you mind explaining what’s happening here? There seems to be some planning going on. What are we doing?”
One could say that the girl had gotten lucky with her egg of choice! Katherine was still struggling to catch the Puwamon who insisted on running in circles around Magnus, while the Choromon just observed Shade in silence. Just as Haru had exposed it; it was quite the gathering!
In the meantime, the unlikely foursome that consisted on Akemi, Cream, Mocha, and Shade were elaborating their strategy, even though they seemed to be at odds with each other. Considering Shade’s own words and the twins, the Numemon X finally managed to devise a plan.
“I-I think I got it!” She finally said, a measure of excitement in her usually trembling voice. “Like sh-shade said, we’ll need two ships. A fast one a-and a big one. The fast one will be a di-distraction and try to di-divert as much attention from the pirates as we c-can. M-most of the fighters will be on the f-fast boat, but we’ll l-leave the ship before it engages and u-use it as cover as s-sis and me carry e-everyone portside. Th-then C-Cream and M-Mocha drill their way through the hull while Sh-Shade fends off any po-possible attackers. W-we’ll protect the rest of the pr-prisoners and the bigger ship approaches. Then w-we evacuate everyone and if we h-have the opportunity, sabotage as m-much of the pirate ship as we c-can. How does that s-sound?”
Some questions lingered in the air, like who would pilot either ship, and how they’d retrieve whoever was in charge of distracting the pirates with the smaller ship once everything was said and done, but that sounded like a decent plan in works already, didn’t it? Of course, some input from the rest would be appreciated, but they probably had a good enough foundation right now.
By now, Katherine had finally managed to caught the rambunctious Puwamon. And had managed to smack Magnus with her shell to finally bring him out of his trance. “Ow!”
“You had it coming. Wake up already, dude. We have some rescuing to do.” Apparently, Katherine had managed to listen to her sister’s plan, and was already fired up and ready to go! “You gotta play bait.”
“Again!?” Last time he had done that, it involved a small criminal, a crazy nun, and losing his previous wallet. “I’m definitely not looking forward to this…”
“Hey, look at the bright side.” The clam smirked, something that the Puwamon seemed to mimic to the best of her abilities. “This time, you’ll get to outmaneuver real pirates rather than fleabag. Ain’t that cool?”
Maybe it was for the best if he had remained in shock. It was going to be very bad, wasn’t it? Nonetheless, Magnus seemed to be resolute. “Alright. Guess we’re all ready to go? Or are we missing anything?”

"No worries! I'll definitely stop myself from throwing up, even if I have to hold it all inside!" Nanami cried out.
"No, you're definitely not allowed to do that!" Cream shot back while Nanami gave them a thumbs-up, facing the newly-born and highly talkative Mai.
"Hello there, Mai! You just got born with a couple other Digimon, and we're gonna go fight some pirates right now! But don't worry, we're really strong, so you don't have to be scared of the pirates!" She didn't seem to be bothered by a Digimon speaking shortly after being born. After all, Cream and her sister were pretty much in the same boat. She had experience getting past that brand of weirdness, the Terriermon supposed.
Cream looked to the other two newborns, one was being chased down frantically by Kathy and the other was giving Shade quite the staredown. And after listening to Akemi's plan based off their conversation, the Terriermon nodded her approval. Mocha still seemed reluctant, however. So Cream placed her paw on the Lopmon's side and stated, "Mocha. There's no way we could possibly do this without you. You're the only one capable of helping me do this."
While the Terriermon kept a blank expression, Mocha's eyes widened in surprise, then became an irritated glare. The Lopmon knew that Cream was just playing into her ego, yet both of them knew that she would relent regardless. Mocha wasn't the only one that could be manipulative, after all. "W-well, I guess we can go with that plan, since you guys couldn't possibly do anything by yours-" From the corner of her eye, Cream noticed a geyser of seawater shoot out into the sky, far off into the distance. A single speck suddenly began to move towards the group, but the Terriermon could'n't quite make it out just yet.
But Nanami's face brightened up as she cried out, "Mocha! Cream! Look! Look!" She pointed off towards the approaching speck as it glided towards everyone.
"Laaaaaaady Naaaaaaanaaaaaaaamiiiiiiiiiiiii!" Cream heard a familiar voice as she approached. Mocha let out an exasperated sigh while Cream tilted her head curiously. So she was able to survive as well. That was a relief.
"Mu-kun!" Nanami shouted back at the approaching figure. A Falcomon was approaching them, gliding in on a kite instead of flying.
"Lady Nanami!" The Falcomon shouted back, tears in her eyes. The kite suddenly tore, however, and the bird Digimon plummeted into the sea. There was a good ten seconds of silence, until... "Lady Nanami!" She repeated, tearing through the waves at record speed. She swam to shore, screaming Nanami's name until she was right in front of the girl, bowing down on her hands and knees, though Cream suspected that it was more out of exhaustion than out of fealty.
When she regained her breath she stood up once more. The Falcomon looked a little worse for wear. Parts of her body were covered in ink, many feathers were missing from her feathery body, and for some reason she was wearing an eyepatch. "I knew that you were no doubt worried about me, Lady Nanami, so I hurried over as soon as I possibly could!"
"I wasn't worried at all!" Nanami replied with a bright smile. The Falcomon recoiled as if physically injured by the girl's words. "You're Mu-kun, so I knew you'd be okay and find your way back to us!" And with that the Falcomon bounced pack with a pep in her step.
"Damn bird, why couldn't you just stay gone!" Mocha shouted back in anger.
"Silence, brown one! It is my contract to protect Lady Nanami and Lady Cream with my life, so there is no other place that I would rather be!"
"...So this is Mukuroyukihime," Cream stated to the rest of the group. "She's not one of Nanami's partners, but she's a friend."
"You have no idea how many adventures that I had to go through to get to you, Lady Nanami!" Mukuroyukihime declared, as if she were going to recount some grand tale. "After we were separated, I was trapped in a whirlpool, where I was whisked awa-"
"We don't wanna hear it, ya salty sack of wet feathers!" Mocha interrupted the Falcomon. "We're hunting pirates now, so shut your ugly beak and get on board!"
"Pirates!?"
"Yep! There are some bad pirates that captured Haru's fellow villagers, so we're gonna beat up all the pirates, and get them all to safety!" Nanami explained.
"Very well! As a ninja, all samurai, pirates, and eccentric butlers are my natural enemies, so I will gladly help you!" The Falcomon assured them. "Oh, but of course, since Lady Nanami is participating, I would have given it my all, regardless!"

Shade wondered to himself how all of this would go; with children mon coming into play he… was kind of not sure how to handle this. Then there was more planning and the choromon just kept staring at him. The large mon managing to smile at them and gave them a bit of a scritch behind one of those metallic ears.
”Not much of a talker are you little one?”
Shade didn’t mind so much but he would definitely be extremely protective of the little mon. Almost like you’d expect of a father or uncle. He’d flick his ears as the numemon-x devised a plan. A very solid sounding plan. He’d consider it for a moment; nod his head and crack his neck.
”Shade has heard far worse plans before. There’s not much we can do than try to put it into practice.”
That being said? The wraithgururumon seemed pleased with the way things had turned out thus far. Giving a nod to magnus as he asked that final question. But then there was some worrying stuff said from nanami. Hold what in? What on earth- Shade blinked a few times and turned his head to find that they were being approached by a falcomon of all things!
”What in the name of the sovereigns…”
His blue eyes tracked the falcomon as they approached; frowning deeply as mocha shouted back at them. Contract? Right. So a merc. Creams explanation was met with a nod and he’d gesture in the direction of whitewater. It was a place he knew well.
A place that he knew well and despised with every fiber of his being. In fact even thinking about it made his hackles rise in anger as he started to walk towards it.
”The sooner we get to the city and get back onto the sea the better. We can talk over the plan to your friend as we go. But be quiet about it in town.”
The huge wolf let out a huff of air and seemed to jazz himself up a bit by slapping his face with a hand. He needed to get a hold of himself but he wasn’t sure how well he’d do in this city. Even if he was in a different form it just felt wrong to walk back into the hands of his prior captors.

Mai listened attentively to what Nanami had to say, nodding with understanding when she was done. “I see.” Despite being a newborn, there was an air of maturity and resolve in the Pitchmon’s voice. “Very well. I’ll be in your care for the time being then!” Undoubtedly a weird thing to say, yet nonetheless not the weirdest thing that has been said in this gathering.
After the best Akemi could come up with was announced and it was almost unanimously approved —plus some convincing that Cream had to do with her sister— the group seemed ready to go! Sure, it was a quirky ensemble, and Magnus himself wasn’t too sure about his chances of success, but that was nonetheless the right thing to do.
“Ain’t you happy, little one?” Katherine asked the small digimon she was holding. “We’re going on an adventure!” The Puwamon looked positively elated at the prospect of doing something fun and/or daring, all while Choromon just stood there, intensely staring at Shade, yet not doing much else. Why could it be? Her obvious absence of a mouth might have played a part in such a behavior, but it was impossible to tell for sure. After all, how many digimons are able to talk even with the absence of a mouth? In any case, before Magnus could just suggest for everyone to be on their merry way, it seemed like the unlikely group had one more person in it. A ninja bird, no less.
Everyone —even Choromon— gazed in that direction with curious eyes, just in time for… Mu-kun to present herself and, predictably enough, have an argument with Mocha. Did the Lopmon get along with anyone ever? That was the question that a good deal of Magnus’ group was asking themselves at the moment. In the end, Magnus, Akemi, Katherine, and Mai waved at the newcomer. “Having a ninja’s help when fighting a group of pirates seems like an impressive boost! Gotta say that I’ve seldom heard of more bitter enemies than that.”
The man smiled, then nodded at shade. They’ve probably loitered over here for long enough. “Well, if nobody else has anything else to add, why don’t we get those boats already? Time to get our ambush started!”
Would anyone object? Probably not. As things were right now, it seemed like everyone was pretty much ready to go. Well, except Haru, of course. “Good luck!” She wished the group, all while standing in her place at the beach. “I’ll be praying for your success.”
A brave, yet definitely quirky group. What’d be in the future for them? Well, at the moment… it’d just be following Shade’s lead and buying a boat. But, afterward? Truly, no way to know.

Seeing that the smaller digimon wasn’t going to say a word and just instead stared very intently at him… Shade couldn’t help but just place the lil guy on his shoulder. He figured they’d move around or do something if they wanted him to. It was best to keep him safe right?
”Definitely a good set of people to handle a group of pirates.”
Shade nodded his head at magnus and without much else would start to set off to whitewater. Haru having the good idea to rest and shade couldn’t really blame them for it. Giving them a small wave as they departed. She would hopefully be there when they returned right?
”Boats and ships shouldn’t be too expensive… what with whitewater being a hub for the stuff.”
He knew very little about whitewater other than that; that and their horrible treatment of him. But that was something he felt was best not brought up; they weren’t there to address that. They were there to get a boat.
It wouldn’t take him very long to lead the lot of them to where the docks were, even less of a time to find a speedboat for their very wants. The harder part would be to find a ship that they could use. A sizeable and easy target for pirates. Shade would be looking over the paperwork of the speedboat. Uncertain of what all those numbers meant he’d offer the paperwork to magnus in hopes he’d be able to make some sense of them. For now? The larger boats would be the easier focus!
There would be some options and shade would be personally stuck between two. A large black ship and a large red ship. Both would suit their needs… and both would be within price range for the wraithgururumon. But one was older than the other and far cheaper; while the other was newer and would definitely see more use…
If no one argued with him he’d pick the less expensive of the two and they’d be left to their own side of the pier with either boat ready for inspection and use. They’d need to get a little used to everything on board of each!
”So who’s on what again?”

As the group made their way to the docks, Cream already knew that Nanami was getting the pre-adventure jitters again. Apparently her near-death experience did nothing to deter her from getting about out into the water, and the Terriermon had to wonder where she got her optimism from. Was it just stupidity, as Mocha would no doubt assume? She certainly seemed to lack a great deal of knowledge. Or sense. Or manners. But she always treated people kindly, despite lacking the social cues to do so.
"Let's get the red one!" Nanami suggested towards Shade as she tugged at his arm and pointed at it like a small child begging her parent for candy. "Pretty please?"
"It won't matter what ship we'll be using," Mocha answered impatiently. "So just leave the big fuzzball alone and let him do his thing!"
"Lady Nanami, do not listen to the brown one's... perfectly valid reasoning..." Mukuroyukihime seemed at a loss for words as she pondered something.
"Okay!" Nanami answered with a smile, and that seemed to be that.
"So if I recall the plan correctly, we'll all take the large ship to the pirates while Magnus follows in the speedboat," Cream began. "When the pirates approach us, Magnus will distract them while Kathy and 'Kemi sneak us to the ship's hull where Mocha and I will drill through the hull. We'll lead Haru's villagers to safety, and-"
"We'll wreck as much shit up as we can!" Mocha finished excitedly.
"But can these two carry the entirety of a village on their backs? How will we transfer the villagers to a boat in the first place?" Mukuroyukihime pointed out.
"If the darkfuzz is willing to hold off the pirates, then this dude right here can pull his boat up and load em' all up in his boat," Mocha suggested, jerking her thumb over to Magnus. "Then everyone else can give the pirate ship a good thrashing, and maybe even sink it if we can. Either way we can stop the pursuers!"
"And once we get everyone to safety, we take all their treasure!" Nanami declared. "Bad pirates don't deserve treasure, so we should take it from them!" She gave a gleeful grin, then turned to Shade. "Oh, but Shade's the one that gets all the treasure! That way he can get all his money back for buying the boats! But more importantly, I'm definitely gonna steal a pirate hat!"
"Understood, Lady Nanami! I will get you a pirate hat even if I have to cross a sea of my own blood!"
"Um... no, please don't go that far," Cream warned the eccentric Falcomon. Nanami seemed motivated in her own weird way, and Mukuroyukihime was always eager to serve Nanami's every childish whim. And Mocha just seemed thrilled to get rid of these pirates. Meanwhile, Cream just tried to look at things from a distance. She didn't think it was a particularly great plan, but she didn't find any alternatives, other than to just give up on the quest altogether. Still, they had told Haru that they'd get her fellow villagers back, so she supposed giving up wasn't an option, either.

From there on, things went relatively smoothly; the group made their way towards the docks. The shipyard was, for the lack of a better word, utterly massive. That made sense in hindsight; this was probably one of the biggest ports of the Digital World, if not the biggest.
Admiring the beauty of the building was, nonetheless, not what the group was here for. Shade jumped into action pretty readily, all while leaving Magnus with the necessary means to acquire his own means of transportation for this venture. He began to fill some forms, all while Akemi and Katherine observed the ongoing conversation.
“Th-that’s the idea, yes.” The Numemon answered Cream. “S-sis and m-me are going to s-stay with hi-him in case things get t-tough, but otherwise, y-yeah.”
Once Magnus was done, he proceeded to walk back to the group. “Everything taken care of on my side. How are your things looking?” Seemed like he had gotten there in the nick of time, as well. At the very least, it seemed like Nanami everyone was excited about the events that were about to unfold. A good mindset to have, no doubt. If everything had gone according to the plan, everyone would begin taking the positions on their respective boats. “Hope everyone’s ready for a small trip!” He said while starting the engine of his own. “Good luck, and see y’all in the sea!”
At least for the first part of their voyage, the sea would be calm and the respective drivers of each boat would have some time to figure them out. It could also be useful to track how Nanami truly handled herself aboard a boat, even though neither Magnus himself nor his partners would be able to observe that one firsthand.
Well, and the three babies that somehow had found themselves aboard the big ship. It made sense, considering that exposing three babies to what’d be the most dangerous part of whatever would happen next wasn’t the smartest decision, all things considered.
Understandably, that time would be cut short as they sailed deep into the sea; finding traces of the ship they were searching for wasn’t extremely hard, and after some time on its trail, the first traces of the vessel’s presence were made more and more noticeable. The brunette made some gestures, indicating that he’d go ahead as he prepared himself.
“Hope this is the last time I play bait in a loooong time.” He said as he began to maneuver the boat to both catch the pirates’ attention and hopefully to divert any projectiles coming their way. This operation would be fairly difficult, so it’d be for the best to give themselves the best shot at surviving the ordeal.

And that was that. The plan was in motion. Magnus was off playing decoy, while Nanami was on the other ship. Shade had gone off to do something else or whatever. Maybe he'll show up, maybe he won't. Either way, fun times were most certainly ahead! Unless they weren't.
And Nanami was doing perfectly fine on her end... not! "I really hope that Magnus is... is... is doing really ghuuuuuuuugh!" She leaned over the railing of her little boat, nearly falling out of it if it weren't for Mukuroyukihime holding her back. Cream rest upon her shoulder, carefully using her ears to hold back Nanami's hair. They were back a good deal more than Magnus was, but the Pirate Ship was ahead of them. All they had to do was await the pirate's response to Magnus's appearance, and when they were distracted trying to murder the young man, Nanami's group would dash in and rescue all the captives from the inside... somehow!
But Nanami was sure that things would work out! Thanks to her partners and Mu-kun, Nanami had dealt with angry flying fish, asshole bees, weird dudes on trains, and angry bladed dinosaurs... what could a few pirates do compared to all that?

Given the strange set of circumstances that surrounded the group’s quest, the current situation was a bit different compared to what had been previously described.
Firstly, thanks to Shade’s patronage, the highest quality boats were acquired for Nanami’s group and Magnus to operate, respectively. To recapitulate, Cream, Mai, Miyu, Mocha, Mukuroyukihime, Nanami, and Sasha were currently on the bigger vessel, while Akemi, Katherine, and Magnus were on the smaller vessel. Given the plan they had formulated, Magnus’ group would act as decoys in order for Nanamis’ to approach without bearing the brunt of the opposing vessel’s artillery. Once there, Nanami’s group would try to breach the ship and rescue as many digimons as they could, with the possibility of crippling the boat to smooth out their escape if able.
Sailing didn’t prove to be much of an issue to Magnus, and since both groups had agreed to use D-Terminals as a method of communication before parting, Akemi was in charge to keep the others updated. At least until she had to play her part as decoy, that is. For the time being, everything was going smoothly… On one ship, at least; with any luck, Shade’s sudden disappearance didn’t mean that nobody else in the bigger watercraft was able to pilot it. Else… they’d probably run into a few problems. Not the biggest concern right now, that was for sure. While Miyu decided that zooming around the boat was a great idea and Sasha just stood there, immutable to what was happening around, Mai was gently rubbing Nanami’s back, as if to provide a bit of comfort to the struggling girl. “There. Don’t lose your footing and try to breathe normally. It’ll make you feel slightly better.”
While those events were underway, the girl’s D-Terminal began beeping. Hi, Nanami! We’re about to get the bad ship’s attention, so I hope you’re ready to catch up. I don’t know for how long we’ll be able to hold them off, so please make it count!
It was a bit funny to how Akemi wasn’t a nervous wreck when face-to-face contact wasn’t in play, but that wasn’t something the group had a lot of time to analyze at the moment. Mostly because there was this mean pirate ship looming, and they had no time to dwell in that kind of thing at the moment. It approached slowly, and only when the vessel at firing distance the cannons would be drawn. Probably a good moment to begin evading! Magnus was glad that his boat’s quality was high, because these pirates seemed to be fairly proficient at their trade, and evading the projectiles wasn’t proving to be an easy task!
“Hey, Katherie. Can you do me a favor and return fire? Feel like these guys think we’re some kind of pushovers.”
“Roger that! These guys don’t know what’s coming for them.” With a quick gesture, the Shakomon conjured a water jet that violently impacted one of the pirates and managed to knock them off the ship’s deck.
So far, so good, even though this was only the first exchange of blows. The fight proper was only beginning.

Hi there, Akemi! This is Nanami! I hope you're having a wonderful time today! I'm still feeling a little sick, but I'm going to do my best! Cream says everything's going good, and Mocha and Mu-kun aren't arguing right now, either! Mai is being a really good help, too! Oh, and Miyu and Sasha are here too and they're doing just fine! I hope things are going okay on your end! If things get really bad, just say the word and I'll beat up all the pirates for you, okay?
If there were any signs of tension showing, Nanami wasn't showing any. Nanami, Mocha, and Cream all got onto a little rowboat, and Nanami gave Mu-kun a thumbs-up. "Mu-kun, look after those three for me, okay? I don't want to get them hurt, so protect them real good!"
"O-of course!" The Falcomon replied nervously. Was she nervous about not being by Nanami's side while she put herself in danger, or about having to protect three newborn Digimon? The answer was yes. "I will protect them with every 1 and 0 in my frame, so do not take unnecessary risks, Lady Nanami! And do not take the brown one's advice in the slightest!"
"Bite me, damned bird!" The Lopmon yelled from below as they departed. But a little rowboat wasn't going to catch up to a pirate ship, would it? Well... not on its own, but Nanami had some useful friends by her side!
"Okay! Mocha! Cream! It's time to do it!" Nanami cried out excitedly.
"There's no logical way this could work..." Cream complained.
"Don't worry! It'll work! I promise!" Nanami assured the Terriermon. "Probably!"
The Terrier/Lop duo sighed as they held their breath, cried out "Petite Twister!!!" In unison, and spun around behind the ship, suddenly propelling the rowboat forward by pure bunny power. Nanami held her mouth and stomach the entire time! Mocha and Cream were friends and partners! She couldn't throw up now that they were trying so hard!
And hopefully they would get nearby without anyone noticing. It's not like bunny propellers made a lot of noise or anything! And as they got close, Nanami pulled her bunny buddies out of the water as they took a quick gasp of air. Clearly it wasn't something they were going to want to do again. But now it was time for step two! Nanami let them get their breath back to them for a bit before going, "Digimental(s) Up! Armor... Evolution!" A swirling red and green light emerged from her D-Terminal and D3 Digivice, surrounding Cream and Mocha as the Terriermon and Lopmon evolved into much more majestic versions of themselves... Terriermon X and Lopmon X! They looked to Nanami in unison and nodded. "Alright, you two! Now we need to get inside that ship and rescue Haru's friends and family!"
They complied by linking ears and then spinning around once more, but with a sharper horn. "Double Typhoon Drill!!!" They shouted as they drilled into the hull of the ship. Hopefully, they could drill into the hull and make their way inside the ship. But they were doing a lot of screaming attack names and Digivolving and stuff, so... who could tell?

Things were getting pretty intense pretty fast. It was a true pity that nobody would be able to read Nanami’s message for the time being, given how Magnus was a bit busy operating the boat and both Akemi and Katherine were making sure that this distraction counted.
Of course, while the initial attempts at knocking some of the pirates out of the ship’s deck, that had mostly been thanks to the element of surprise. Now, the crew knew that the vessel that was navigating towards them wasn’t as defenseless as it looked; a more prepared force was preparing for a raid, all while a greater deal of the cannons began to take aim at the ship.
In short? It means that the distraction was a success! And that also meant that they had to be very careful, if they appreciated being alive.
“We’re charging ahead, Kemi! We’re easy targets over here; we’ll meet them head-on.”
“Y-Yes! I’m ready wh-whenever you a-are, sis!” In the meantime, the ninja bird and the three infants were witness to Nanami’s own act of bravery. The pieces were being slowly placed on the board, yet… was that everything there was to it? A certain Pitchmon couldn’t avoid thinking about that, as she stood by the rails of the vessel. Feeling helpless had never been Mai’s strong suit, and while she knew next to nothing about the digimons around her at the moment, she felt a strange kind of… camaraderie with her fellow babies. They had been comrades in the past, hadn’t they? And while this was just a hunch, she felt like she had a good idea regarding their Miyu and Sasha’s abilities.
Thus, she approached the Falcomon some moments after they departed. “Mukuroyukihime-san.” As always, Mai’s manner of speech was extremely formal. “I can tell you are likely distressed due to the departure of your ward; I understand that feeling all too well.”
The Pitchmon then nodded decisively. “You should go after her, since your responsibility towards her outweighs any duties you have over here. We’re more than qualified to handle this vessel; Sasha is very proficient with Machinery, and I’m sure she’ll prove her ability once again.”
Prompted by the comment, the Choromon approached the duo. After a glance at both Mu-kun and Mai before she jumped next to the helm; eyes flashed green for a second while her tail seemed to make contact with the wheel and… that seemed to do the trick. Fancy, huh? Yet, before Mai could exhort the Falcomon again, a voice pierced the uneasy silence. “Hey, everyone!” Was this the first time Puwamon spoke? If it wasn’t, the writer forgot. “We’ve got some company! Yarrrrrrr!”
Maybe it was a good thing that Mu-kun hadn’t gone chasing Nanami, after all; climbing from the ship’s rails, a group of about four Goburimons began to climb the ship. Color quickly drained from Mai’s face. Well, not like it had much color to begin with. “Oh, goodness…”
That didn’t bode well at all. It was a good thing that, at least for the time being, Nanami and the twins’ advance was unhindered. It was an unconventional way to propel the boat, but no less effective due to that. They closed the distance between themselves and the ship, and promptly began to drill through the vessel’s hull. Success! Thus far, the operation had been smooth, and the trio had found themselves inside the ship. One question lingered in the air, however. What next?

The Falcomon seemed almost surprised that a random baby was able to pronounce her name so fully, yet she managed to shake off the shock and shake her head in refusal at her suggestion. "Lady Nanami's orders are absolute! And while she admittedly never gives me an order, her desires are clear! It would be uncouth of me to abandon you three and go over there to protect her for my own selfish desires!" And while she stared back at the Pitchmon with a resolute gaze, her entire body was shaking due to her ever-increasing anxiety.
So when the Puwamon called out in a voice that was totally the same as when/if it first spoke that there were enemies approaching, Mukuroyukihime almost let out a sigh of relief. Enemies that the Falcomon took down were less enemies that could potentially harm Lady Nanami, after all!
So she stood in front of her three accompanied babies, turning back quickly, "Quickly, find yourself some shelter! I shall single-handedly deal with these foes!" She declared, loud enough for the four Goburimon to hear her. Then towards the approaching pirates. "I should warn you to stay back, you salty pieces of filth! My ninja training has given me the power to overwhelm any pirate, regardless of your levels and numbers! For a ninja is a pirate's natural enemy!"
Was this a bluff? Most certainly, taken out of the brown one's playbook, though she would rather die than admit this. But being outnumbered while protecting multiple charges and on an unfamiliar battleground compared to the pirates was something of a desperate situation! And even a moment's hesitation gave her new allies that much more time to find some relative safety, right? And as for the brown one herself, she, her sister, and her idiot partner had made it into the ship, though it wasn't without initial trouble. Having de-digivolved back to their regular Terriermon and Lopmon forms to conserve energy, both bunny Digimon grabbed a hold of one of Nanami's arms.
"Aaaaand puuuuull!" Cream groaned as the pair pulled back with all of their might.
"Owie owie owie!" Nanami complained as she felt like her partners were tearing her arms from her sockets. Yet they pulled with enough force to pull the little girl through their makeshift entrance. The three tumbled forward into one sprawling ball of little girl and clearly uncomfortable bunnies.
"'It'll be fine' she said!" Mocha mocked aloud in irritation. "'This hole is plenty big enough! And I'm really, REALLY good at slipping through tight spaces!', she said!" The three managed to get their feet underneath them. Well, just Nanami. Her partners perched themselves up on her shoulders, though they looked out in different directions.
"I really am good at it, though!" Nanami pouted. "The hole looked a lot bigger than it was, is all!"
"Stupid Nanami's been eating one too many crackers!" The Lopmon mocked with a devious grin.
"I have not!" Nanami loudly protested leaning her head towards her brown bunny friend so hard she nearly headbutted her. Which probable wouldn't have ended so well for her. Horns and all.
"We have a job to be doing," Cream interjected, looking from side to side, looking for any potential threats. If Magnus was engaged in combat, then it was likely most of the crew was engaged in whatever battle stations this particular band of pirates had. Which maybe meant security was lighter than usual? "We should try to remain quiet and-"
"Hey, Haru's friends! We're here to rescue you!" Nanami suddenly yelled out at the top of her lungs. "If you can hear me, please reply!"
Cream had to blink multiple times, as if to make sure none of the pure, unadulterated idiocy emanating from her partner somehow seeped into her eyes and infected her as well.

Mu-kun, being the stalwart ninjabirb that she was, refused Mai’s suggestion of heeding her desires in order to respect her given duty. “I see. Your actions are commendable, Mukuroyukihime-san. I’m honored to know we’ve been entrusted to the care of such an honorable digimon.” At the very least, the group had gotten something out of this exchange; Sasha had proven to be a capable pilot, and that gave the Falcomon the freedom to tend to other matters if she so wished.
Like the fact that Miyu had just announced the ship was being boarded, for example.
At least for the Pitchmon, it was hard to not feel helpless in a situation like this one. Being a baby severely limited her options regarding what she could or couldn’t do; she knew she’d be a hindrance in a fight, and these goblins didn’t look like they were messing around. Reluctantly, she nodded to Mu-kun. “Very well. We’ll seek refuge; I’ll make sure Sasha can continue operating the ship in the meantime. You can count on me!”
Of course, that small plan didn’t account for a single factor; whereas Sasha was a well-behaved, if somewhat stiff digimon, Miyu was… probably the polar opposite of that.
“Please come back! You’ll hinder Mukuruyukihime-san’s efforts to protect us!”
“Nah. I don’t want to miss the action! Yarrr!”
She then proceeded to ignore any following calls coming from the Pitchmon and just happily hopped across the perimeter where the Gorubimons and the Falcomon were about to engage. It seemed that Mu-kun was cursed to deal with obnoxious individuals no matter the situation.
What about the goblins, then? Once all of them were on board and ready to assault the ship’s occupants, they got hit headfirst by a barrage of taunts that resulted in them… laughing pretty effusively. “Ya sure like to use fancy words, girlie!” One of them responded. “We’ll see if you’ll be able to keep on sayin’ them once we’re done with ya!”
Without further ado, the group rushed towards, their intention to clobber their enemy into submission. It wasn’t very elegant, or the moves they employed particularly refined, but these were pirates that probably were overconfident about their odds and that held a clear numerical advantage. While Akemi and Katherine’s advance had been initially tough, for a reason they couldn’t fathom, it became easier over time; Magnus couldn’t possibly think the reason why, at least until it hit him like a freight train.
“Shit.” He gripped his Xros Loader a little too tightly as he watched the pirate crew slowly retract from the cannons. It was only then that he turned the communications back on. “Girls, I need you to dispatch the remaining pirates real quick! It seems like Nanami’s group got spotted!”
“Got it! We’ll see what we can do about it!”
They still had to get through whoever remained at the cannons, plus an Ebidramon that was now lurking directly ahead of them. This wouldn’t be an easy fight, would it? Magnus looked ahead and clenched a fist in frustration. What in the world could have Nanami done to attract the crew’s attention so readily? An explosion maybe?
Oh well; it mattered not; now they had to get through the enemies as fast as they could. The annoying part about that was that, while he was trying to think, his Xros Loader’s screen was bothering him with a message in big green letters that was probably not important enough and he’d bother to read later. At least for the time being, Cream, Mocha, and Nanami were well on their way to free everyone; they had successfully infiltrated the ship, and the only thing they had left was to search for the prison-
Yep, she had totally gone and done that. The sounds of footsteps to check out what the ruckus was about was pretty evident, even though the first thing that the group got wasn’t a prisoner. A Tsukaimon stared at the group with a blank look before hitting the switch in one of the walls. “Alarm!! We have people in the prisoner deck!!!”
That probably hadn’t been the smartest decision. The group’s available time had been cut short considerably, and reinforcements were probably in the way. Quick and decisive action was probably the order of the day, at least if any kind of advantage was to be gotten before things took a turn for the harder.
Right now, the group had some options. They were still pretty near the section of the hull they had perforated, and while their current room was a bit on the dark side, it wasn’t to the point where it significantly impaired visibility. There was a single exit by the end of the room, by the same place where the Tsukaimon was shouting all kinds of distress messages for the crew to hear.
What would they do next?

Mukuroyukihime should have figured that her threats would fall on deaf ears. After all, it's not like the brown one had ever intimidated anything in her life. Well it was worth a try, but now it was time for the Falcomon to put her ninja training to full effect! "Engage in battle against me, brothers!" She cried out as she tried her best to stand in front of the foolish baby Puwamon. It would be most effective for her to be the target of all their attacks, after all!
"Ninja Art - Ninja Substitution Technique!" She cried out as all stealthy ninjas did. And using the powers of realistic ninja training, she suddenly swapped places with one of the four Goburimon! Hopefully, that one would get clobbered by the other, maybe even smack one of them in confusion! And in one of the goblin Digimon's voices, she declared, "Yeah, you suck! None of us ever liked you anyways!"
Hopefully it would be enough to confuse the group of enemies for a brief instant. It was likely that Mukuroyukihime wasn't going to win this battle, but she still had to try, right?
And as for Nanami and company, things were getting pretty hectic pretty fast. Probably because she decided to scream out while sneaking behind enemy lines. But she did get some bit of confirmation, though! "Oh! That bean just said we were on the prisoner's deck! That means we're close!" Nanami cried out excitedly. "My plan worked!"
"What kind of plan was that!?" Mocha yelled back in frustration. "Who the hell goes around asking the enemy for directions, dammit?"
"So what's the plan, now?" Cream asked her "genius" partner. Cream herself wasn't much of a schemer, but she might be able to push past and shave away Nanami's idiocy until they had a nugget of a plan.
"Hmm..." The girl seemed to give it a good bit of thought before grinning and holding up her Digivice. "We push forward, full power! Digimental(s) Up! Armor... Evolution!" Two streams of light, one pink and blue, and the other green and red, shot out of her D3 and into Mocha and Cream, respectively. And in their place stood two armored bunnies, Rapidmon of differing colors. "Okay! Now just start breaking through walls until we get to where we need to go! It's okay if you break walls and stuff, 'cause this is bad guy property!"
"Heh! My kind of plan!" Mocha cried out, more than willing to wreck some kidnapping pirate's shit up. She knelt down, then charged forward with all manners of propulsion she had straight into the all ahead of her. "Oh YEAH!" She yelled out as she would hopefully tear right through whatever stood in her way between her and the next room.
"This isn't my kind, though..." Cream muttered, looking around for the inevitable resistance. "Not that this is much of a plan in the first place..." CD's in case they're relevant. Ninja Substitution Technique 0/4

At least outwardly, if the Falcomon had something in spades, that was confidence. A simpler taunt managed to succeed where a more elaborate ruse had otherwise failed. The goblins charged with reckless abandon straight into… one of their own, actually. Three Goburimons collided, with only the one being the furthest behind becoming aware of Mu-kun’s refined ninja training and abilities.
The Falcomon continued to sow chaos and discord among those three with her mimicry ability. But that still meant she had one enemy left to address. “I have fought you lot before. Ninjas always resort to dirty tactics like that.” He declared, in a more composed voice than the previous simpleton. It was true that Mu-kun had diverted an attack with exceptional skill, but that had left an opening, given her sudden movement. “Don’t underestimate us pirates!”
Mai had been watching the engagement from a relatively safe spot, and to her, the situation became extremely obvious as the Goburimon dashed forward. It was fairly obvious, after all. Who was the easiest target? The nimble fighter that probably had more than a few tricks to misdirect their attacks or… the baby she so obviously was trying to protect?
“Miyu!!!” She cried out in desperation as the goblin charged at her. “Get back! Now!!” However, it seemed like Puwamon legitimately thought that she was a mere spectator that just had a nice seat for the fight and… did absolutely nothing.
This was bad. How was Mai supposed to abide for such a… foolish act? At the end of the day, this was Miyu’s fault, but still. She had to do something! Any hopes for a stealthy operation in the prisoner’s deck were dashed at record speed. Nanami’s command, coupled with the fact that the Tsukaimon hadn’t been silenced made sure to cut that avenue for good. Instead, the plan was to inflict as much damage as possible to the ship, with Mocha spearheading the operation. Thrusters, she launched herself forward, and managed to force herself through the first of the inner walls before she felt something suddenly repelling her body; a barrier of sorts was halting her advance in its tracks.
“Yer not wreckin’ my ship that easily, y’know? It was a bold attempt, but no one has tried to fight m’crew head-on in a while. Ya got guts, girl.”
In the meantime, at least half a dozen of BlackGalgomons and Revolmons began to flood the room where Nanami and Cream currently were. “All this ruckus, just for a little girl? Piece of cake! Boys, fire!”
At least five champion-levels began to fire towards Nanami and Cream without hesitation they didn’t seem to show any signs of stopping, at least until… a giant crustacean and a kappa with a gun staff created a second opening through the ship’s hull. They haven’t dealt with the pirates, but they had certainly bought some time with that surprise attack.
“N-Nanami, Cream. W-We don’t have enough time! Fi-fighting against the whole c-crew is a losing battle. We’ll b-be overrun!”
“It’d be great if we found a way to free at least some prisoners, though. But I don’t know how that’s possible when we have to deal with this much chaff.”
Not an easy conundrum, by any means. Katherine had suspected they wouldn’t be able to rescue every digimon from the get go, but right now they’d be lucky if they could rescue any. The situation didn’t look good at all.
