Name: Ren Tachibana
Alias: --
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Height: 5'5" (165cm)
Weight: 110lb (50kg)
Alignment: Neutral Good
Birth Date: 27 December
Birth Place: Fukuoka, Kyushu prefecture.
Western Horoscope: Capricorn
Eastern Zodiac: Tiger
Skills/Talents:
*Memory―Ren has an excellent memory―if he really needs to remember a piece of information, he only needs write it down to get the gist of what he needs to remember. This translates in being able to retain information both mentioned and specifically taught to him.
*Sharp Eye―Ren can pick apart details and objects in his environment very easily should his eyes be unhindered. He fails to pick up on detail if one of his eyes is injured at all―even eye infections or tired eyes can cripple this skill.
*Quick Thinker―Ren can think quickly in most situations if he stays calm. This ability is hindered greatly if he's in a panic.
*Gardener―Ren's hobby is gardening and he has grown quite skilled at it. He's still in denial.
Personality:
Ren is an introverted, somewhat-antisocial boy who generally prefers work over play, finding the option of staying still and through that being useless to be a very unappealing one and always wanting to be made useful in some shape or form. He's honestly kind of girly at heart though he tends to prefer to deny it, having a hobby of gardening, being very intellectual and having a rather languid lifestyle (which he views as a rather feminine thing to try to pull off as a man). He tends to shove other people away instead of trying to make friends; this isn't due to any serious disorder or hatred for life or anything dramatic like that, it's just that he's a bit socially awkward when it gets to speaking about personal situations and he'd rather focus on doing something important instead of going out to see the newest Disney movie with his mates. He holds himself to a high standard at school, going above and beyond to get the best grade he can to prove that he knows the subject even if he's confident in his hold over the material, and he likewise holds himself to high standards at any other occupation he might have, such as a job (or moonlighting as a magical girl, as his sprite form happens to put him in the situation thereof).
He tends to take care of the big and medium-sized details and completely put out of mind the smallest ones (say, his appearance or his handwriting―not anything that would end up putting someone out if they're on fire, unless very niche situations come to light). For this, he tends to try to stay vigilant of his surroundings in case there's a detail that might come in handy later (either to save himself or others from embarrassment by a teacher, to make sure he's not accidentally crushed by a falling object, etc.). He also tends to procrastinate on the details that blur the boundary between "kinda important" and "unimportant", leading to him being underweight from forgetting to eat (unless he's reminded or starts figuratively dying from hunger, of course).
When it comes to interpersonal relationships, Ren tends to fall a bit short. He was fond of bullying his younger brother for being deaf when he was very young simply because he didn't very well know how to ask what was wrong with him, and those lack of people skills have even now failed to change. He's very awkward when he's not talking business, finding it hard to talk about himself or finding anything interesting that he might inform the other person about him for if it comes to the question of "who are you and what's so interesting about you?". Even in normal conversations relating to his interests, he fumbles―even his love of gardening can slip his mind when he tries to come up with something to please the other person's curiosity. He hasn't had much meaningful interpersonal conversation, and it shows―he may even stutter if he has to talk about himself. (Of course, these tics are only caused from his nervosity when made to speak about his personal life―they are completely non-present if the topic happens to be something he's knowledgeable about or if he's talking to do business, such as asking what an item is used for in a shop or if he needs to ask to borrow one of the school printers.)
Ren tends to view people with some amount of suspicion, always thinking of the worst things that could happen if a person might want to be out for him for reasons he doesn't know. For this, he holds a very cold front against those he doesn't know that try to approach him, keeping his interactions with them strictly business and deflecting any attempts at being friendly if he can help it, unless he needs to make friends or associates with them. He won't outright cripple a stranger for his own benefit if he's got a choice in it, but neither will he freely give his entire kingdom to someone he barely knows. In fact, in spite of his baseline suspicion, he can be very generous to people if he's in the right mood for it (though really, it's more like "if he's not in the wrong mood" over "in the right mood"), offering menial help or semi-valueless items (¥500, half a candy bar, some of his lunch) if he can spare the time or effort.
Ren's little brother, Kazuo Tachibana, is a subject of some note in regards to Ren. While certainly Ren has had his time being Kazuo's tormentor when they were very little, Kazuo's gained quite some respect from his older brother. Of course Kazuo's the opposite of Ren in terms of responsibilities, going so far as to ask Ren to do his homework for him so he doesn't fail a class, but Ren respects his struggle with deafness to the point that he'd indulge him if he can help Kazuo grasp the material himself. Ren subconsciously holds Kazuo to similar standards as he holds himself to, allowing his little brother to express it in different ways yet always expecting him to do the best he can at whatever he finds interesting enough.
Appearance:
(I am fully aware that Ren is male and his Sprite and Fusion form are both feminine. Thankfully, he hates himself enough to use them.)
Personal History:
Ren was born to two loving, expectant parents in Kyushu, where he was joined by a little brother only a year later. I would really love to say that Ren was a bright child who earned the praise of his teachers but he was actually kind of braindead, and as I mentioned in the Personality section, he was fond of bullying his little brother for what he saw as trying to ignore him (the greedy-for-attention little brat he was never really realized he wasn't "ignoring" him out of spite but out of an actual inability to respond to auditory cues)―talking to him and smacking him if he didn't respond, yelling for him to come over and telling his parents that his little brother was spitefully ignoring him, taunting Kazuo about "talking like a retard!", et cetera. This only earned little Kazuo Tachibana's ire, which he repaid with purposefully angering Ren to goad him into trying to punch or smack him so he could tattle to his parents. The two of them seemed fond of squabbling up until Ren found himself a victim of bullying at his school, which he tried to keep quiet about as much as he could―after all, he didn't want to seem wimpy to his little brother.
It came that they eventually made up when one day, Ren was being shoved around by the kids bullying him when Kazuo came into view, clearly in a bad mood and trying to pass by. One of the bullies made the mistake of trying to taunt him and, in trying to get his attention from what he saw as ignoring him, shoved him. The end result was a small heap of bruised children, which only Ren and Kazuo were not a part of. As Kazuo tried walking off in a huff, Ren caught his sleeve and (after nearly getting punched out himself) cut himself off from saying "thank you" in lieu of giving him a thumbs-up. (It was only revealed later that Kazuo didn't fight the bullies off to defend Ren or anything―no, he was just in a bad mood, but he'll take Ren not being a little brat, sure.) Since then, they've kindled a trusting albeit somewhat cool relationship between the two of them, though with some bits of the rivalry still remaining. The change in their relationship also came with a change to Ren's antics as well―even aside from the expected cessation of his torment of his brother, Ren changed to make things easier on them―he modified his normally-muted body language to be much more open and visible, he began to carry around a notepad and pencil to communicate with him better, and he even began to try to cover for whatever suspension Kazuo got into this time. (It was also around this time that Ren began to pick up strict academic principles to hold himself to.)
It was a few years later that they eventually ended up moving from Fukuoka into Shibuya to try to get better opportunities for deaf Kazuo, regardless of how much of a slacker and ditcher he ended up in school normally. Ren's been working to try to better himself and help Kazuo since.

Appearance:
Ren is a young man who stands at the somewhat unimposing height of 5'5", being rather scrawny besides to further dampen his threat. His face is similarly gaunt, giving the impression of being underweight. Usually, when not around people, his expression is rather serious, but if he's near people he either very much likes or very much hates, he'll adopt a bit more of a cat-like grin. He generally uses very accentuated body language, delving into horseplay and general tomfoolery with a cattish expression on if he's happy, using very closed-off body language and obviously frowning when he's sad or angry, closed-off body language with a serious expression if he's not fooling around, et cetera. He wears his hair in a bit of a bedhead fashion, being bothered to comb it only once every day or two to fashion the strange sidebang he normally has his hair in to the right side of his face.
He seems to have only one outfit (which, in all honesty, is actually just an unsettling amount of the same pieces of clothing): a light brown shirt with strings holding together a v-cut in the collar, blue jeans held up with a brown belt which are tucked in to these kind of ridiculous black strapped boots reaching up about halfway to his shins. He normally wears a black hoodie sans a zipper with a white interior. This hoodie has a trail of three dots down the side of the hood, matched by three black dots in the same position on the interior. Generally, he'll try to pair this outfit with a bit of a serious resting face to give off the impression of being some punk that shouldn't be messed with. However, he drops this act when near those he trusts.

Does not bind the enemy in any way aside from the calming effect, meaning that the enemy can freely move and prevent the aroma from affecting them. Ineffective against enemies above Champion level. Once per thread.
