In the end, Natsumi had chickened out. Which she really shouldn't have, right? Tons of people find people to date online these days! But the thirteen-year-old couldn't quite go through with it. She was still so young, so wouldn't using a dating app seem kinda desperate? So she took a seat in Gaomon and Gabumon's little home in Rosewood. It was little more than a log cabin, with a ridiculously short ceiling. But there was a fireplace crackling and a picnic blanket in the very center of the room. Natsu had been sitting there, staring at her new Digivice/phone/whatever this thing was supposed to be.
She was still getting used to the whole "Monsters from another world" thing, but Gaomon and Gabumon were accommodating enough people. And this place, Rosewood, that is, had a serene atmosphere that the girl loved. It was peaceful, and because time worked differently, it felt nice that if only for a few hours, she could spend some time away from-
"Honey, I'm h~ome!" Natsu turned her head so see her twin sister kick open the door to their cabin. She had a wide grin on her face as she walked in holding a large plastic bag in each hand.
"Ah, Haru! Please be gentler when opening our door!" Gabumon chastised in a gentle tone that sounded more like a recommendation than anything else.
"Sorry, sorry!" She replied before laughing and stomping in. Behind her was her sister's partner, Gabumon. A lizard that wore a wolf's pelt. He was a sweet boy, really. They moved over to Natsu and set the bags down as a bunch of small, heart-shaped objects wrapped in red and pink foil spilled out.
"...Big date tonight...?" Natsu asked with a raised eyebrow, but was surprised when she nodded her confirmation.
"Yep! There was this app on the tamernet thingy! It pairs people up with each other for events and stuff, so I signed up because it sounded like fun!"
Natsu tried to blink away the disbelief before she spoke up. "Wait... you signed up for a... a date!?"
"Sure did! And I got a match! They're coming over later today!" Haru grinned in triumph, while Natsu just sighed. Of course Haru would just casually go through with something that she herself couldn't work up the courage to do. It was utterly infuriating and Natsu felt so pathetic for being so petty. "Ah, I guess I shouldn't have given them Gabumon's address... but you don't mind, do you?" She turned to pat the fur-covered lizard on the head, but he moved his head away as to not let her touch his precious pelt.
"I don't mind!" He answered cheerfully. "Giving away your personal information over the net makes it easier to make friends, after all!"
"Aaaaand that's my cue to leave!" Natsu stated, standing up and getting ready to head out before a serial killer or whatever stopped by.
"What? You're leaving so soon?" Haru asked, offended. "Come on, stick around and hang out with us for a while! You won't be able to meet my date if you leave now!"
"I'd... rather not stick around and be a third wheel..." Natsu answered, taking a step back.
"Huh? But you're not gonna be the third wheel. You're the fourth wheel!" Haru pointed over to Gabumon, who waved at her as if he had just arrived.
"Haru said that I can stick around in my own home!" He answered in a cheerful tone. Natsu... didn't know how to respond to that particular line. And to be perfectly honest, she kind of did want to stick around. If only see how much of a trainwreck this date could possibly be. After all, Haru neglected to mention that she hadn't signed up for a romantic date!

Was Lagi a little too young to go on dates like these?
Perhaps, but for this Valentine's day, she, for lack of a better judgement, opted to throw herself into a blind playdate with anyone with a working pulse and the will to take the plunge in the first place. Nothing too big, and, hey, if it meant that Lagi got a new friend or two in the process, she'd take that. None of those icky lovey-dovey stuff that the older kids were doing.
No, instead, it'd actually be fun! Already, Lagi's mind was swimming with possibilities. Her date had called Rosewood home, and the ever-wandering Ghostmon practically knew the ins and outs of this place already. All the restaurants, the residents, the hustle and bustle, the entertainment, everything. She'd make sure she'd do everything in her power to ensure her date would have a heck of a good time.
And that's where we found our Ghostmon today; just hovering along, as per usual, with one hand carrying a box of red bean mochi (dates did love their sweets, after all), and another a giant bouquet of flowers from the nearby florists. As she moved along, her eyes darted between the houses and a small card with the date's address.
"They've got to be there, somewhere." Lagi quietly muttered to herself, passing along the houses nearby. Already, her arm started to ache from the weight of all the flowers. Any sane Digimon would take the time to rest up for a bit before continuing on their way, but Lagi wasn't sane, damnit! She'd get there, hell or highwater, rain or shine, heaven or-
"Ah. There it is." A wide scarecrow-stitch grin emerged on her face as she looked at the log cabin looming over her. And one cursory glance between the address and the card would confirm that, yes, this was her stop. Her brave face never faultering, she floated up onto the steps and...
Knock knock knock
Of course, this being Lagi Wundergeist, she wouldn't give her (un)lucky playdate a chance to open the door in time. Instead, she would just float through the door without so much as an idiom of warning, mochi, flowers and all.
"...hello? Is anybody home?"

They heard a knocking at the door. "Oh, hey, it looks like they're here!" Haru said excitedly as all three turned to the noise. Natsu was closest to the door, so she might as well get it, moving over towards the door... only to see a ghost come bearing gifts straight into their home.
Natsu screamed, causing Haru to scream, finally causing Gabumon to scream out as well. And while Natsu grabbed her chest to prevent her heart from leaping through her ribcage, Haru began to start laughing after the initial shock.
"Wow... Gabumon, did you know that your place is getting haunted?" She asked her partner, but the faux-beast Digimon shook his head.
"Not that I'm aware of... and it's definitely surprising to meet a Ghostmon here, of all places!" He admitted, stepping in front of the twins. He was ready to defend them if need be. Though his demeanor was... slightly less sure of himself. "Umm... Ghostmon-san? Would you please not barge into our home without asking for permission, first?" It was possible that if things had been a little different, she could have floated in and saw Gabumon not wearing his pelt. And that was something he wouldn't stand for.
"Wait..." Haru muttered aloud. "Are you here for our playdate? I'm Haru, and we're waiting for someone to hang out with right now!"
"Ah, yes, I'm Gabumon, it's a pleasure to meet you!"
"And I'm Natsu..." The other girl added once she got her heart rate under control. She examined the creature a little more closely. "But Gabumon called you... a Ghostmon? So does that mean that you're the ghost of a Digimon? Or a Digimon that looks like a ghost?"
"Either way, I bet having a body like that makes pooping a breeze..." Haru noted, staring at the Ghostmon with a serious expression.
"Ew! Haru, no!" Natsu yelled out in disgust, giving her sister a dirty glare. Even though... she had wondered the same thing herself.

It was abundantly clear Lagi had learned nothing from her introduction to Bellamy.
Her once optimistic smile started to falter as the two girls, and the Gabumon accompanying them, screamed in fear from her mere presence. Oh come on, she didn't look that scary, right? She barely looked like she could hurt a fly, much less 2 humans and a Rookie-level Digimon. She wasn't going to hurt them! She wasn't some sort of evil or malicious Digimon! She was just baby.
So much to her surprise, that Gabumon would approach her and calmly call her out for her little antics, making her tilt her head down in shame, "I'm sorry, sir. I just wanted to make sure my playdate was home." Her lonely, odd upbringing (plus the fact this was literally her first cycle) had made it harder to properly understand basic home etiquette in the first place, much less how to make a proper introduction without making a tit of oneselves.
But sure enough, Lagi would give a little nod towards the girl, 'Haru' as she introduced herself, asking about the playdate, while the other two (Gabumon and Natsu) introduced themselves in turn... which quickly boiled down to a discussion about her... pooping?
That, of course, was lost onto the young Ghostmon, and, after quickly readjusting herself, she smiled at Haru with the same scarecrow-grin adorned on her face, "I'm Lagi Wundergeist. And I'll be your playdate for today, Miss Haru. Nice to meet you!"
Before Haru got a chance to respond, Lagi would quickly approach her and happily shove the flowers and mochi into her arms. That was how V-Day worked, right? Dates loved flowers and candy! Surely, Haru would be so happy about this!
It was clear Lagi wasn't exactly the best at reading the room properly.

Once everyone was able to calm down and were realize that it was just a Digimon, things were able to progress. Natsu still had a bunch of questions, but she had a feeling that the conversation wasn't going to move in that direction. After all, this Lagi person, while certainly bizarre, even compared to the few Digimon that they twins had met, was something of a spectacle. If horror films weren't their favorite movie genre, this creature might actually have been considered frightening for the pair. But as it stood, she was kind of adorable for a little ghost girl.
Thankfully, Lagi had dropped the "subject" that Haru had brought up. While Natsu was certainly curious, she wasn't sure she was ready to know the answer to that question.
"Nice to meet ya, Lagi!" Haru smiled back at the Ghostmon. She laughed as her hands were suddenly full of flowers and snacks. "Oh-ho! Captivated by my beauty already, I see!" She spoke in a joking manner as she turned towards her sister and Gabumon. "But these gifts must be shared, so their joy may spread to even greater heights!"
She moved towards Natsu and thrust the flowers into her arms. "Natsumi, my dearest sister, my beloved summer beauty, please accept this humble offering, for these flowers can only bloom with your radiance!"
"Wh-what are you going on about!?" Natsu practically shrieked, face red from embarrassment from her sister's dorky antics. "And don't just give away a present when Lagi is still right in front of us!" But Haru didn't seem to mind her as she spun to Gabumon and offered him the mochi.
"And of course, my loyal partner, my esteemed fur-covered comrade, please accept this offering of mochi, for its... sweet gooiness... reminds me of the kindness and love you bring into my life!"
"Haru..." Gabumon began to blush THROUGH his pelt... somehow. "I don't know what to say... I..."
"Don't say anything!" Natsu interjected. "She's just saying and doing whatever she wants!"
"And of course, I can't forget you!" Haru continued, spinning around and picking up a bag of heart-shaped candy. She handed it to Lagi before staring into her black eyes. "For you, I have this bag of chocolates and assorted candy. The offerings you gave me was the sweetest gesture I've seen in a long time, and for such an ephemeral, ethereal beauty such as yourself, I can only respond with my sweetest gesture!" With her other hand, she extended it to the Ghostmon. "Miss Lagi Wundergeist. Would you do me the honor of going on a playdate with a humble Spring child like myself, as well as her partner and sister?"
"How has anything you've done or said in the last minute been considered 'humble'!?"

Safe to say that Lagi's tactics to win her over her playdate hand over fist was about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the forehead. But from the looks of things, it seemed to work like a charm. But much to her surprise, Haru had opted to share the gifts with not only her sister, but with Gabumon as well, much to the former's apparent chagrin.
Not that Lagi found herself bothered by this. In fact, paying no heed to Natsu's protests, the Ghostmon would gently lay a hand on her shoulder instead, "Don't worry about it too much. In fact, I think it was nice of her to share the gifts with you guys." If anything, both girl's hearts were in the right place, or at least as far as she knew.
Even if the antics that resulted from this had inadvertently turned the others into a blushing mess in record time.
Speak of the devil, Haru indeed did not forget Lagi, much to the initially unassuming Ghostmon's surprise, who quickly found herself pointing to herself. "Who, me?"
Much to her surprise, she herself would suddenly find herself being handed her own batch of sweets from the sweet-hearted human and, like Natsu and Gabumon before her, blushing like mad. And, bless Haru's heart regardless, her compliments didn't exactly ease the spectre any, "I... um... err... you... we..."
Before the stuttering could go on, she saw Haru hold up her hand and, well, 'proposing' to her for the playdate. Again, despite Natsu's protest, Lagi slowly, but happily, grabbed onto Haru's hand and held it as tight as she could, that g*sh d*rn blush never fading all the while, "Why... yes. I'd be happy to be your playdate today, miss Haru."
Without even so much as a small warning, the Ghostmon would suddenly pull Haru into a hug, letting out a happy sigh as she closed her eyes in the embrace.
Warnings were for losers, anyways.

Natsu wasn't sure what was worse. The fact that her dork of a sister was spouting such cheesy dialogue, or the fact that her cheesy dialogue was actually working Lagi had grasped Haru's hand, and pulled the girl into an embrace. And Natsu could tell that her sister was feeling smug and debonair right now. Mostly because she was giving Natsu the "victory" sign as the Ghostmon embraced her. With her other arm, she held the ghost close to her body. Though Natsu could only imagine what it was like to touch a ghost. Natsu imagined that it was like warm gelatin.
Naturally, Gabumon's awkwardness had to ruin it. "Umm... is this a group hug situation?" He asked aloud. "Because my pelt is quite warm and soft!" But Haru only responded with a hearty chuckle.
"We can save the group hug for later! Right now, we have a date to go on, right, guys?" She smiled, holding up the one bag of candy she hadn't given away just yet. With a sly grin, she laid out her plan. "So listen up! I've got a great idea for a Valentine's prank, alright! Pranking couples sounds like a bad thing to do today, right? 'Cause we'd be ruining other people's dates! So instead, we're gonna help all the couples in the world become even closer!"
"That doesn't sound nearly as awful as I thought it would..." Natsu commented, a little stunned at her sister's self-awareness.
"So... instead of tricking people to make them feel dumb, we trick them to make them feel happy?" Gabumon asked, receiving a headpat from his partner in response.
"That's right, my fur-covered friend! For today our pranks shall evolve to simply putting smiles on people's faces!" She pointed up towards the sky, though she had to bend her elbow so her finger wouldn't hit the ceiling. "Lagi! Gabumon! Natsu! Let's fill this world with love! For today, we will use our pranks to help make ten-thousand babies!"
Natsu immediately coughed and shook her head. "Why... why do you always have to phrase stuff like that!?"

Maybe Lagi didn't notice Natsu's elation (and subsequent silent bragging), and maybe that was for the best; the Ghostmon happily nuzzled up to the human as she let herself sink into the girl's arm. Who knew humans could feel so soft and squishy? It felt... nice. At least to her, anyways.
Even Gabumon's sudden suggestion about making this into a 'group hug' wasn't exactly enough to throw her off.
But Natsu was right. They couldn't exactly afford to dally any longer. And much to Lagi's own elation, she had her own idea for this particular playdate: pranking couples to bring them closer together. And that already was music to Lagi's (non-existent) ears. Lagi was a born prankster, and many times on her travels, her time would be spent pulling odd, oftentimes messy, but ultimately harmless pranks on Digimon her own level. She barely touched humans or higher level Digimon, if at all.
And the more Natsu talked, the more Lagi found herself liking the idea; her philosophy with pranks were only to make others laugh and smile, not to demean them. She knew Natsu's heart was way in the right place, and by the time she finished speaking, she never felt her grin grow so wide before.
But what to use?
"Ooooh! That sounds like fun, miss Natsu!" She exclaimed, "I actually have some stuff we can use for our pranks today! Wanna look?" Without missing a beat, she'd pull out her Infini-Store, and, after storing the chocolates away, she'd soon bring out a stack of pranking 'tools' she had in her arsenal, including: - a tiny green water gun - a can of whipped cream and a few paper plates - a can of 'peanuts', actually holding plenty of rubber snakes in the shape of Sandiramon's ugly mug - a bag of rubber KoDokugumons, much smaller than the real ones - a pack of blood capsules, and - a fake fart button (with the batteries recently changed, of course).
She looked directly at Natsu with elation, "So, whatcha think?"

Haru's eyes widened as Lagi pulled out the little cube, at the device itself as well as its contents! And she didn't bother to correct Lagi on her name, either. But the actual Natsu wanted to clear up the confusion.
"Umm... Actually, I'm Natsu... That's my sister, Haru!" Natsu said as gently as she could with a light chuckle. It happened all the time. And most of the time people would mistake Natsu for Haru and her many antics, so it was pleasant to see the other side for once.
"But that's so cool!" Haru interrupted, leaning over to take a look at Lagi's supplies. All of the classics that she hadn't used since she was little! Clearly Lagi was a prankster of culture! And Natsu could tell that it was something Haru could respect! "Hmm..." The girl stroked her chin thoughtfully, eyeing up the supplies as if calculating a thousand schemes a second. Meanwhile, Gabumon looked down at Lagi's prankster stash, then back to Haru.
"But how is all this pranking stuff supposed to get people to be romantic?" He asked aloud, his reptile wolf-like body turning from Haru to the Ghostmon.
"Oh-ho, but you're too narrow-minded, my fuzzy friend!" Haru answered with a sly grin. "All these are just tools in the end! The real pranks are up here!" She tapped her finger on Gabumon's head. "Ya gotta use it for more than just holding up your horn!"
"V-Very well! I'll try my best!" The rookie Digimon exclaimed, turning back to Lagi's supplies and focusing very intently. Meanwhile, Natsu got a closer look at Lagi's toolset. It seemed like it had all the classics, though some looked kind of strange to her. Maybe these were more "Digital World"-centric? Well, when in Digi-Rome, she supposed.
"Some of these look like they could be duds..." Natsu commented, her thoughts beginning to trail off as well. "Well... if we're trying to hook people up, then-"
"Yeah." Haru agreed, nodding without even looking at her sister. "But do you think-"
"Maybe. But I'm concerned about-"
"You're right. But what if-"
"That might work! Unless-"
"That's possible. Actually, it might actually-"
"I know, right?"
"Right!" The two nodded to each other, turning back to face a confused Gabumon.
"Was... was that a conversation just now?" Gabumon asked incredulously.
"We've come up with a plan!" Haru exclaimed, but pointed towards the Digimon. "But we wanna hear if you guys have any ideas, first! You're the ones from this world, after all!"
"Ah, well... I... Uh..." It was clear that Gabumon hadn't thought up anything just yet. But... maybe Lagi would have some ideas of her own?

"Oh, sorry about that, Natsu." Lagi would lightly chuckle as she scratched her cheek in embarrasment, "It's just that... I'm more used to talking to Digimon than humans, y'know? Not for a lack of trying, of course." She wasn't lying, either, but her odd upbringing meant that she didn't exactly have the easiest time at it. It just made her wonder: did all humans look similar to one another? Or was it just her?
But Haru's praise was enough to make Lagi beam with pride. It was only natural; she was still just a kid after all. She'd happily reap the praise whenever she could. She did work hard to collect all those supplies after all. And besides, Haru was right! The supplies were merely just that: tools. And if Gabumon turned to look at Lagi for even the slightest moment, he'd spot her giving him a brief nod.
But there was one major point of concern; how would these pranks be good to help people hook up, exactly? Lagi's tools and pranks weren't exactly designed for that in the first place. They were just ultimately harmless pranks at best, and thus, Lagi found her eyes quickly darting between Haru and Natsu's little argument on what would and would not work. Until she eyed at the whipped cream can and the paper plate...
"Wait! I have an idea!" She suddenly cried as she picked up both the can and the plate. As she continued, she would quickly fill the plate with a lot of sugary cream, "Maybe we could get people to laugh with this classic gag? That could bring them closer together! Allow me to demonstrate!"
Haru would need not worry; not a moment too soon she'd soon find that Lagi had put her little makeshift 'pie' into the palm of her hands. And the Ghostmon right in front of her face with the same wide grin as before.
"Go on! Hit me!"

"It's okay, miss Lagi! I had a hard time telling them apart, too! But a trick I learned is that Natsu is the one that looks like she's going to get mad at you all the time, and Haru is the one that's going to laugh at you instead!"
"Ahaha! Can't argue there!" "I do not look angry all the time!"
Natsu let out an exasperated sigh as she heard her sister laugh beside her. Welp, she should move on, regardless. She watched as Lagi put a pie in her sister's hands and then asked Haru to... hit her with it.
"Oh? You got a trick up your sleeve, do ya?" Haru asked with a gleeful grin. "I wonder what it's gonna be! But..." She looked down at the pie in her hand and frowned. "Still... something's missing... Ah! Gabumon, I'm raiding your fridge for a sec!" Haru rushed across the room and towards a small refrigerator that was never mentioned but was totally there like, the entire time.
"Haru, at least ask first!" Natsu chided.
"It's okay! We're partners, after all, remember? His stuff is my stuff, too!"
"It's fine, really!" Gabumon answered happily. "I don't mind at all!"
Natsu frowned, though. Gabumon was too nice. Was it really fair for Haru to take advantage of him like that? Well, none of that mattered right now, because from Gabumon's refrigerator she pulled out a single cherry and placed it atop the pie. "There we go!" She exclaimed. "Now it's lookin' more like a pie! Gotta go with the classical approach, you know?"
And with that, she unceremoniously thrust the pie towards the Ghostmon's face.

Did Lagi actually have a trick up her own sleeve with her idea? While Haru did have legitimate cause for concern, she wasn't one to just outright lie to her own date. And true to her word, she barely budged an inch, even as Haru just up and left her standing for a brief moment just so she'd go raid Gabumon's fridge just so she'd literally get the cherry on top for the pie.
Oh, is that how humans do it? Lagi could only glance at the newly decorated pie in sheer unfiltered curiosity, Maybe I should ask her some more on how they do it-
Splurtt!
Her vision quickly shifted from white to black as the cold cream covered her face, and she found herself stumbling back quite a bit. Perhaps it was because of her fleshy solid muscles contrasting Lagi's lighter-than-featherweight body, but she could feel quite a bit of force behind that. The paper plate would just as quickly slide off her face and fall to the floor with a lighter splut, only drowned out by the Ghostmon's rapid fire sputtering.
...which quickly turned into sheer belly laughter, courtesy of herself, "Y'see, Haru? That's the sort of thing I was talking about!" Still trying to keep herself compromised, she'd scoop up a good handful of the cream and smear it a bit on Haru's cheek in playful retaliation, "That's how you get people to laugh at themselves! Who knows, we might be able to get the couples to see the funny side of all this... and themselves too! It's a win-win!"
"I figured this would be the easiest way to demonstrate to you guys. It's a classic, gets em' every time!"

"Oh... It hit her! I thought miss Lagi was going to use her Ghostmon powers in order to phase through and trick Haru, but this worked out instead!" Gabumon marveled, though he kept a noticeable distance between his partner and the Ghostmon.
"Well... A pie in the face is one of the classics..." Natsu admitted, keeping about as much distance from her sister and their new playdate as Gabumon was. If only not to be associated with this particular mess. She didn't laugh, but she did cover her mouth with her hand as she spoke. Was she hiding a smile?
"Ack! I've been pied by proxy!" Haru cried out dramatically, smearing more of the cream onto her face as she theatrically placed the back of her hand on her forehead. "Now whatever shall happen now!" She turned over to Gabumon and her sister. "Hey, you two! Come here for a sec! I wanna say something real quick!"
"O-okay!" Gabumon complied, taking a step forward, but got pulled back by Natsu.
"Yeah... You're just gonna smear that stuff on us, so no. I don't want that sugary stuff inside my body, and I sure as heck don't want it on the outside, either! And do you really want to smear Gabumon's coat after what happened last time?"
"No! I don't want to get my coat ruined!" Gabumon cried out in nigh-panic, crossing his arms defensively and looking at the messy Haru and Lagi like they were covered in blood instead of whipped cream.
"Aw... you're no fun!" Haru muttered, but turning back to Lagi with a grin. "But this is gonna work out just fine! And instead of using cherries, let's get some pink or red icing and make a big ol' heart shape on each of our pies! And then we can pie all the couples hanging around in Rosewood!"
"You're definitely going to start a fight..." Natsu commented, but Haru simply laughed it off.
"Come on, sis! It's Valentine's, a day of love! No one's gonna want to fight us for getting a pie in the face! It's just too funny, right Lags?" Lagi was gonna back her up on this one, right?

Of course it would be easy enough for Lagi to take the easy way out and just let the pie phase through her like it was nothing, but that wouldn't be fair on Haru, damnit! It was practically in her good nature to be a good sport for her date! And it wasn't like she was just going to disappoint her either! She had to take that hypothetical blow, for science!
As she took the time to pull out a small handtowel from the Infini-Store to quietly wipe herself off, the little Ghostmon couldn't help but let out a chuckle as she watched Haru banter with her sister and Gabumon. It was just enough for Lagi to wonder, honestly; was that having a tamer to call your own was like? To joke around with? To actually call a friend?
It must have felt nice and all...
Oh. Yeah. Haru! The Ghostmon would be quickly snapped out of her trance once the young human girl addressed her once more. Despite Natsu's protests, Lagi was all too quick to agree with her, "Of course! It's not like we're outright hurting people with something like this." She threw the hand towel into the girl's lap, "It's just a harmless bit of fun and games, that's all."
"Speaking of," A sly grin crossed her face as she dug through the cube once more before pulling out a series of small bottles to show the girls, "I actually have a fair few food dyes on me. We could easily mix this in with the whipped cream once we put them on the paper plates easily."
"So are we ready to go?"

"See?" Haru gestured to Lagi backing her up. "It's all fun and games! And since today's a day of universal love, that means that all's fair in love and war!"
"No, you're definitely going to make war," Natsu drily commented, shaking her head and dismissing the argument. She was the only one who seemed to think about consequences in the entire group, apparently.
Gabumon, on the other hand, looked back between the three ladies, snickered to himself for a bit, then suddenly blurted out, "I guess you could say that it's all just a bit of... Haru-mless fun!" He awaited the uproarious laughter, but while he wasn't sure how Lagi would take the terrible pun, both Haru and Natsu placed their hand on the fur coat-covered "beast" Digimon.
"Gabumon... you tried..." Natsu commented, almost apologetically.
"But it's okay, Gabumon!" Haru declared, pulling out her Digivice and holding it to her chest. "I swear on my life that one day, I'll help you become the funniest Gabumon, no... Digimon in the Digital World! That's a promise between partners!"
"Haru..." Gabumon looked up at his partner with stars in his eyes. "I promise I won't let you down! I'll become even stronger so that one day, I'll be able to tell the greatest joke ever!"
"And what does that have to do with strength!?" Natsu blurted out in an exasperated tone.
"But back to business!" Haru declared, clapping her hands together and ignoring her sister's straight-man routine. "I think I've got an idea of our plan of attack!" She turned towards her comrades in mischief. "Gabumon! You'll be in the very back! I don't suspect that we'll have any issues, but if things get a little dicey, having you as a back-up will be a great help!"
"Understood! I'll stay out of the way until I'm called upon!" Gabumon cried out with an unusual level of enthusiasm for someone who just admitted they were essentially useless.
"Natsu! I need your keen eye and discerning tastes!" Haru patted her sister's shoulder with a level gaze. "You're a lot better at determining which couples are more lovey-dovey than the others, and I only wanna target people with hearts in their eyes!"
"It's called being aware of others, Haru..." Natsu drily muttered, but nodded. "But I'll do what I can, I guess..."
"Excellent! I'll keep be the lookout, of course! It wouldn't be very good if someone interrupted us before we could strike, after all!" She turned to the Ghostmon then. "And last but certainly not least, it's up to you to make the decisive blow, Lagi!" Haru declared. "Natsu's right, some Digimon may not appreciate getting pied in the face while on a date, and no one can get in and out of a hairy situation quite like you!" She suddenly grabbed onto Natsu and Gabumon and pulled them closer to Lagi, then put her hand into the space in between. "Some of us may not make it out unscathed, but that's just the price of having fun sometimes! Now who's with me!?"
"I am!" Gabumon declared, excitedly putting his pelt-covered not-wolf hand on top of Haru's. Natsu sighed before putting her hand on the pile as well.
