Ding!
"Its all over!" An announcer screamed as one man lay partially unconscious against canvas, his body a loose pile of limbs, twitching and scrambling to make sense of itself. One may stand above him, hands raised in red gloves as he cheered through a translucent mouthpiece as he slurred his speech.
"What a Slugfest..." A young boy commented, his eyes glued to the screen as he inspected the damage on both contestants with quick glances. "Why wouldn't he keep at his body.... He just let him push into him over and over. Did he want a counter?" His hand moved to his chin, a finger sitting across his lips, pressing gently on his nose as he thought while highlights of the bout played all over. The sound of shuffling feet beat around him as his eyes jumped between the train and his screen, he was half aware as he locked his eyes onto the screen with indifference. "Whatever."
He crossed into the train and plopped himself down onto the seat, his backpack swinging around and landing beside him on the bench. He threw his elbows back onto the edge of the seat, his body sprawling out as he turned his head up to the ceiling. Eyes closed as he cleared his mind, his heel pressed into the floor as he felt...off? Maybe he was just tired from practice. The doors shut and he didn't here the usual accompanying ding but again, meh, he had a lot on his mind and a number of techniques he had to process before his next serious spar. A sigh slipped between his lips as his eyes opened, the dark brown ceilings really brought about a continued feeling of depress-
Wait brown ceilings?
Rex's face twisted, contorting into a confused scowl as he dropped his head to the right slowly, inspecting the train as he slowly surveyed back to the right. What kind of train is this? He sat up, a bit more on edge as he realized that he was actually...alone. He was accustomed to partially empty trains but being alone was...different. He looked at his phone for a moment, opening it to check to see if he had already lost service only to see an egg sitting firmly in the center of the screen, bouncing slowly to it's own melody. "Huh?"
He struggled to make complete sense of the situation, normal people would feel anxious but he just...wasn't. Dressed in his school uniform on a train to somewhere he did not know, with an egg as his only companion and his body fatigued. This seemed promising. He just wanted to shower and if anything he felt a bit more annoyed he walked onto some service train. He sighed again, his head falling downwards as his hair obscured his face before propping himself back up towards the ceiling. He was definitely irritated.
He reached into his pocket to fish for his phone, but as he did he realized...he never put his phone away. He was just holding something else in his pocket, as he turned his head to the right to look onto his phone one more time, still just an egg gif playing on his phone. Did he get...reverse pickpocketed? He pulled out the second device to come face to face with a black and gold object, it looked completely unfamiliar to him as he studied it, tracing a thumb against it's side feeling the cool metal that comprised it. "What is this?" He noticed a button that looked like 'power' and inched his way to it slowly, a bit hesitant as he debated if this was actually a good idea.
"WELCOME" The device shouted, his finger backing up as he studied it's complex shapes and analog display despite it's advanced appearance. This entire thing just kept getting stranger and stranger but before he could even interact with the device, his phone lit up in his lap, a message reading "transferring now", the egg no longer visible in the center, instead it periodically bounced across the screen. "transferring to..." His eyes jumping back towards his new....thing to see it loading a pixelated image from the bottom up. It didn't take long for him to recognize the pixelated bouncing, it was the egg, now on both devices.

LJ had entered an empty car on a Trailmon which was not completely unusual seeing as not many humans knew of digimon. He hadn't yet deactivated his holosuit finding it easier to seat himself in his disguised form doing to being more than tall enough to see over the seat. Sounds from the next car caught the disguised digimon's attention as he stood up deciding to check it out his curiosity drawing him. Peeking quietly into the next cart he saw a human staring at something with a confused look on his face. Squinting to see the small object in the human's hand he was amazed to see a digivice. 'Hmm. He must be a new tamer to look so puzzled.' LJ thought for a moment before heading into the cart with the human.
As he approached the unknown male, he said "Hey there. I see you're probably on your way home from school just as I am."

A normal Rex would have reacted to the sliding doors, but he was too caught up in the piling pixels comprising the egg on the analog device. He kept changing his focus between the two, wondering if or how the device activated the blue tooth on his phone before a bold, green 'Done' appeared on his cellphone before it began to read 'Harmonizing'. He didn't even know what to say as his attention turned back to the other device as it carried the egg, now motionless on the screen. A loading bar appeared next to the egg, building block by block as he glued his eyes to it, only to be startled when a voice boomed next to him.
Rex's body froze, his head whipped to the left suddenly as he stared at the dark skinned man on his left, examining him before he responded. "Yeah...you can say that." He relaxed, his eyes shifting back to the two devices as the bar continued to build. "What does this even mean...?" He thought to himself. His expression seeming drained for a moment before he looked back to the other figure. "Any chance you know where this train is headed? I think I got on the wrong one." He paused for a moment, debating how much he should withhold before adding, "I don't live here and I'm a bit lost."
He got up for a second, stretching as the device sprang to life in his hand, the words 'Ready' now on the analog screen..."Ready for what?"

Apparently LJ's words has startled the boy so he raised his hands in a calming gesture before he said "Whoa easy there dude. I didn't mean to startle you. I'm sorry about that." Then he was asked if he knew where the train was headed. Now how was he going to answer this one since it wasn't likely he knew that the very train they were in was a living being like themselves. Thinking for a moment he figured out something that would work. "It's okay. I haven't been in Shibuya long myself but I do know that this train will eventually get back to the station and maybe you can find a train schedule and map."
LJ then sat across from the teen and said "It seems I have forgotten my manners. My name is LJ. What's your name?" Then the digivice sprang to life and it seemed it was only a matter of time before something interesting happened.

The device was vibrating profusely in his hand, as he returned his attention to the male with a calm expression. "Rex, you can uh....you can call me Rex." His hand was violently shaking off his hip as he created this strange dissonance of panic in his arm and unbothered above his shoulders before the flashing and vibrating started in his other hand too. Glancing down to his right, he noticed his cellphone acting up as well, the screen was nothing more than a white light and a strange ringing he did not know his phone was even capable of. He brought the two devices in front of him, frustration creasing his nose as the sounds and vibrations stopped, the lights from the phone and the device intersected. They strengthened and almost as if by magic, the device acted as a 3D printer, and a purple striped egg began forming in front of him.
His eyes lit up and his posture was apprehensive as he leaned away from the amassing object. His body ached from his training, and the egg seemed not care as it completed its growth, falling into his arms which lay half bent from the weight and both of the devices. "What?" He asked as he froze for another moment, he fell back into a seat with a rather confused expression as he just locked eyes with the egg in an attempt to understand what exactly just happened. He lay the devices on his lap and held the egg with both hands as he examined the object from top to bottom, still unsure of how any of this was happening. He didn't recall being hit that hard.
"I'm guessing we're both lost here....too right?" He asked, his eyes still stuck to the egg. "I'm also guessing we're in for a long ride."

LJ smiled when the teen introduced himself as Rex and replied "Nice to meet you, Rex." Then Rex's phone and digivice started acting up with by vibrating and white flashing lights appeared on the screens but the noise the phone made had LJ's attention the most as it was rather irritating since he was a disguised digimon with sensitive hearing. LJ managed to keep his face mostly neutral with only a very slight pained twitch on his face.
When the noise, lights, and vibration stopped Rex was left holding what LJ knew to be a digi egg. This meant that Rex would soon be dealing with a newborn digimon. The question was how soon since with a digi eggs hatching times were hard to predict unless it was obviously hatching right before someone's eyes. Faking surprise, LJ said "It seems like we may have a long ride. Who knew an egg would have just appeared like that man."

"Yeah..." He responded, just kind of staring at it as he kept it a distance from him, still unsure what would happen next. "Hope the ride isn't too long" He echoed as he lifted the egg to see the unresponsive devices that lay on his lap, the only sound left was the the train on it's tracks. The thudding and squealing was the the only thing left keeping him grounded, the only thing that even remotely felt familiar. He sat across from a stranger, with a strange new device and a giant strange egg on his lap but that wasn't the case much longer as a loud sound erupted from it.
THWACK!
His body froze again, he was beginning to think he definitely was not going to catch a break anytime today as a giant fissure formed in the center of the egg.
Silence again.
THWACK!
The crack deepened, creating a black gap in the top of the egg as Rex continued to just stare, unmoving in case he were to make matters worse. Silence filled the space again as a white light erupted from the egg, forcing his eyes closed, it continued to brighten for a moment as bits of shell fell around him, covering the ground in a purple mess. The light faded and the egg shell, a quarter of it's previous size and covered in symmetrical edges, lay between his hands with a small silver organism sitting inside of it, covered in its shell.
"Hiya! I'm Choromon!"
The digimon placed turned to the other man with a pleasant grin, "How are you doing? Enjoying the ride?" He gave a moment for the response before he spoke again, "Know what would be more fun?? TAG YOU'RE IT!" and with that the baby....thing bolted towards the doors with full speed, uncaring if the men moved after it or not.

Apparently this baby was the impatient type when it came to hatching as a sound was heard before a crack appeared in the surface of the egg before another sound the cracks growing bit by bit until the light of digivolution occurred and now a tiny metallic digimon smaller than even he was as a baby sat there covered in bits of eggshell from what was once his egg.
LJ wasn't surprised that Rex wasn't sure of what to do but then the newborn digimon caught him by surprise by not just making noises but forming full sentences no less. From what little he remembered of being Punimon he knew he didn't speak complete sentences right away since the only thing LJ had been able to say in the beginning was various syllables in the name of his species with pu or puni being what he said most often. Then the little digimon saying 'Tag you're it' and LJ was left staring dumfounded at the fresh digimon before he said "Looks like things have gotten more interesting."

There were certain moments where one just wanted to rub a brick on their forehead to make the hurting go away. This was one of those times. The teen put the shell down on the seat next to him and just watched the digimon bump itself into the door several times, not sure about how to get the door to actually open to escape. Apparently all it's brain power went to it's ability to communicate. With one less thing to worry about he lay back for a moment and just looked at the ceiling, the man next to him speaking to him calmly as ever. That felt weird, he knew he wasn't the type to go crazy, but most people he has met definitely would have freaked out, but he was probably just over thinking it, who could blame him at this point.
The tension in his body slowly left him his head fully falling back and resting as he tried to figure it out. "Interesting is definitely one word for it." he commented, "I've never seen anything like this, but you don't seem too bothered either." His eyes fell forward, a bit accusatory for a few moments before he looked left and saw the...thing still headbutting the door. "What do you make of all this? I'm at a loss and I'm not sure what's coming next." He reinitiated eye contact and eyed the man cautiously for a moment, his neutral expression taking over and his voice sounding as calm and smooth as ever.
He didn't get another word out before the zippy little thing flew back over and hopped on his lap. "Tired. Sleep now." it yawned, the creatures mouth opening wide as it did so, falling asleep almost instantly like it was just...unplugged. He put a hand on the creature, it was warm, but it's skin definitely had a cool initial feeling. It felt like a creature with skin like mercury, moving under his hand with a sudden warmth puncturing the cold, leaving him in a bit of a paradoxical state. He began to pet it gently, a smile taking his face for a moment as he felt an odd bond to the creature, weird as it was, it felt like his responsibility now, or at least it made him feel that way. Guess he was a parent now?
"At least it's cute."

It looked to LJ like little Choromon had no knowledge of how to open the door to the next door. Probably a good thiing too since a fresh digimon could easily get hurt if left to their own devices. Rex gave LJ an accusatory stare and such a look made since as it seemed the jig was up. It was time to reveal his true form. Besides now that Rex was a tamer he would have to get used to different kinds of digimon and not just virtually harmless infants with a big vocabulary.
"I'm not disturbed by this for a reason, Rex. I happen to have something in common with the little guy headbutting the door." LJ said as he deactivated his holosuit revealing his true form as a small purple furry creature with red markings and brown eyes. "This is the real me, Rex. I and Choromon are two different species out of many different kinds of creatures known as digimon. I myself am a different color variation of a species known as Elecmon but digimon sometimes take names as a way to differentiate themselves from others of the same species." LJ hoped Rex wouldn't freak out but at least with Choromon using his lap as a bed Rex wouldn't likely run or at least LJ hoped Rex wouldn't.

There were no longer any words left.
His eyes just fell blankly onto the 'digimon' and he just kept staring. His hand stopped moving for a few moments while he processed this new information, again, and shortly after, the baby's tail fell onto his hand, moving it for him as if to tell him to keep going. He looked at the child, then back to the purple furry sitting in front of him and he couldn't think of anything else to say except "Of course. Of course you are." He sighed, a heavy feeling leaving him as he at least now had someone he could ask questions to. Next thing you know the train would be a 'digimon' too or something.
"Okay so what...just happened, what is this? What's going on and we are not in Japan anymore...are we." The string of words just flew from his lips before he could even properly put all his thoughts together. "Sorry, I just. It's a lot." He added, feeling a little overwhelmed he took a moment to breathe deeply and exhale again, removing much more of the unneeded stress from the teen's chest.
"If you have any information to share that'd be great...digimon...sir?" He was a bit bewildered and it would probably take another moment for him to properly recall the monster's name but he was intent on making this a learning opportunity. "Like...what is this thing?" He asked, lifting the strange black and gold device.
He may have bluffed the man into this new...creature but there was still so many unanswered questions.

Okay Rex took the whole reveal about him being a digimon well so that was one thing LJ didn't have to sort out. "This train is no ordinary train as you know it, Rex. We are riding on board a large species of digimon known as Trailmon and we are heading to a world parallel to your Human World. This world is called the Digital World and digimon originate from there so you boarding the wrong train was an understatement since we are heading for the Digital World now."
Upon being called digimon sir LJ smiled before he said "You don't need to call me sir, Rex. Just call me LJ. That's the name my parents gave me when I hatched." LJ couldn't blame Rex for being bewildered seeing as he just became exposed to digimon just mere moments ago. "The device in your hand is known as a digivice. They are important to humans who come to the Digital World and come in multiple variants."

Okay so the train WAS a digimon too. Nice. Nice. Sweet.
Rex hit that point where he realized he knew nothing, he realized he was either in a feverish dream or there was much more to life as he knew it. Granted, he was but a late teen, and there was a clear number of things he did not know it was still impactful and humbling for him to sit here and just absorb this information. He was riding a digimon, talking to a digimon, while petting another digimon and at this point there was very little he was even allowed to dismiss. He took one wrong train and he was heading to a parallel world where everything was going to be comprised of data and he is now using a device other humans have used and he is...doing what now?
"Okay...okay but why me. If anyone can just ride this train...why isn't there just swarms of humans...why isn't this breaking news?" He felt as though this kind of information would be vital to human civilization, this is much more advanced than anything he could think of, he was entering a digital world...physically. With a digital device that was beamed into his pocket, altered his phone and summoned an entire digital lifeform using it. "I'm not sure what to expect here, but I feel like I have so much i'm missing I'm going to be in for a rough time."
He leaned back again, exhaling as a flush of light rushed into the train and all of a sudden, the train was travelling across a great green plain, hills bumped up along the smooth surface and electric towers stood tall in stark contrast against the greenery. The boy seemed almost awestruck, getting up and walking to the door just off the side of LJ as he watched the world just roll past him. "This is really happening." He began, his eyes locked on the window as another train rolled past way off in the distance, both trains calling to each other with a loud whistle. "This is...this is real."
He didn't even turn his head as he spoke to the digimon, "What would you suppose someone like me should do...first."

LJ reached up with one of his paws and began scratching his chin in contemplation before he said "The reason most humans aren't aware of digimon is that only a relatively small percentage of humans are chosen but I'm not sure how some people are chosen to receive digivices, Rex. When digimon like myself got to the Human World we tend to stay out of sight or use holosuits to disguise ourselves so hiding isn't necessary. Some digimon also attend the schools in Shibuya in disguise."
Light soon filled the train from the outside and it seemed like Rex was in awe at the sights around him. LJ had felt the same way when he entered the Human World for the first time with his parents which made him wonder if his parents had also been in awe of the Human World when they first went there. "Not sure what you should do first, Rex, other than exploring the area when the Trailmon reaches the terminal."

He figured.
"This wasn't some RPG, there wasn't any tutorial area was there." He'd just have to figure out where he was going, how he'd get there all on his own. What this monster was and what being in the digital world even meant. He felt a bit anxious, this wasn't anything like he had been expecting, he expected to be in bed within the next 25 minutes, but there has to be some reason he's here. He just continued to watch outside, holding his partner, watching groups of monsters graze and run across the open field before they hit another tunnel.
"LJ, look you didn't have to say everything you did...but you did." He paused as if thinking for a moment, "Thank you." He turned and gave him a soft expression, one unlike any he had worn during their ride before. "I really appreciate you being here with me. I'm not sure how I would have responded without you here so thank you for that." The darkness was becoming a bit less so, his eyes adjusting under the thin dark veil and his body relaxed more and more as he gave it thought. "I have a purpose here. I don't know what it is, or why I was selected. But I'm here for a reason, right?"
He gripped his partner a bit tighter, "I'll figure it out."
"I really hope there are more digimon like you."
