Despite the fact that the Hagurumon explained how and why he died in such a casual manner, it really didn't help things all too much with Kaya and Hawkeye. "Why is everyone on this Trailmon so casual about occurrences such as a fight breaking out, or your own death?" Hawkeye asked.
"Yeah, I'm a little bit confused and concerned about that as well," Kaya agreed. Maybe Hawkeye was right, and they should've just walked through the Server Woods like usual. Didn't help that Sakura had managed to piss off a WereGarurumon in the other car, throwing her onto the ground before stomping away. It was probably best to just kinda... avoid that whole group for now, they thought.
Once they got off the train, Kaya and Hawkeye decided to converse a bit. "I'm sure Jijimon and the others will get a small laugh out of this story, right?"
"Possibly, while they don't trust outsiders they at least enjoy hearing tales of our adventures," Hawkeye said with a smile, crossing his wings. Then suddenly, it happened. The Hawkmon's eyes opened wide. "Something's happening...!"
Kaya looked at her partner with a concerned expression. He wasn't the type to joke around, so she knew this must be serious. "What do you mean?"
"I don't know what it is... I can just feel something wrong going on at the center of my core. We need to get down to the village, make sure everyone is all ri-"
And that's when the high frequency wave hit. Kaya fell to her knees as she and Hawkeye both covered where their ears would be as they each gritted their teeth as well, the effect was absolutely painful. Luckily it only lasted for around five seconds. "What was that...?" Kaya asked, lowering her shaky hands from her ears.
"I don't know... I can't sense that feeling as well as before anymore..." Hawkeye would then notice something... rather strange. "Kaya, over there."
Kaya turned to look in the direction Hawkeye was looking in. It seemed like there was... mist pouring out? Only something was definitely off with how the mist was moving, it was pouring instead of building up. "I haven't seen that happen before..."
Hawkeye would then overhear Tatsuya and Blake discuss this event happening in front of them. They mentioned going to a village around here, and they suggested going over there to ask if this was a regular thing. Hawkeye decided to save them the time. "No, this is not regular. I used to live in the village around here, and my partner and I visit it regularly. Nothing like this has ever happened. Something's definitely wrong."

Hana, Sakura and the Twins were kind of just milling about and trying to figure out what to do next when they overheard the other girl and the Hawkmon mention a nearby village.
"You guys want to head to the village and figure out just where the heck we are?" Hana asked the group.
"Sure, sounds like as good a plan as-" Sakura's reply was interrupted when the high-frequency wave hit, causing the group to cover their ears/audio receptors.
"Jesmon Christ mode, what the heck was that?!" Data exclaimed. The group looked around to try to find the source of the noise, when Hana saw the mist pouring out.
"Uh-oh, that can't be good." She said.
"Ugh, why is it that we can't have just one peaceful day in this crazy place?" Data wearily said with a sigh. "Alright, let's go figure out what's causing trouble this time."
"Got it, Data." Hana replied in affirmation, digivice ready to digivolve her partners at a moment's notice. Sakura decided to digivolve while she had the chance.
"ThornLillymon digivolve to Lillymon!" Sakura said, cocooning herself in vines as her Champion form emerged from a flower that bloomed on top of the cocoon.

Yeah, looks like the problem sort of started.... Hmmm, where to even start with this? Yuuki takes out his noise cancelling headphone just in case and puts on the silencer. "...If anyone need my attention, tap or poke me. Otherwise please let me have my silence for a little bit."
Lately he have been using this a lot. Whenever he wanted to concentrate or goes deeper than his usual thinking state, he would just pops out the headphone and uses the noise cancelling function to concentrate. First, let's think it calmly. Hikaru said that "Their first adventure began there". In that case, could it be that whatever is inside is creating a phenomenon that pretty much asking them to return there? Just them?
Then there's recentness of the event. The Hawkmon said that he haven't seen this before, but when was the last time he came here? Yuuki opened his tourism book and looked for nearby settlement. He was thankful that he bought this book before. So there are about three villages around here... The third is a bit too far, so there's this oen and this one...
Yuuki immediately pulled the headphone off after he formulated enough plan and turned his attention to Kaya and Hawkeye.
"Right, I have a question for Hawkeye then. You said that this is not something that happened regularly, which is pretty much what I guessed, but I mean more like... is this something that has happened more than three times. So to cut the chase, do you mind telling me when the last time you came here, or got into contact with the village you mentioned before?"
"If it's at least two weeks real world time since the last time you came or have contact with them, then we can rule that this might be something that happeend recently, and might be a repeat event. In that case, we might need to ask you to guide us to your village, to talk with them about this situation," Hikaru explained. "Any sort of information will help."
There's also the fact that if this happened a lot of time, there's possibility that Rosewood will be contacted. However, Yuuki and Hikaru have no idea about the temperament of the settlements. Some settlements are completely against strangers, and so they believed strongly in power of their own community... When that happened usually it would cause more damage than good. Small villages usually aren't equipped to deal with anomaly of this nature...

After Hawkeye stated that this was definitely something that he had never seen happen before, Tatsuya would then... put on his headphones? He requested absolute silence for a bit, which Hawkeye immediately understood and left the young man alone until something urgent may pop up.
Meanwhile, Kaya sighed as she held her hands on her hips. "So this is what Adrian meant when he said that anything could happen in the Digital World..." she muttered. She noticed Sakura digivolving not long after the sound frequency wave, she probably didn't want to waste any time in case this was a Digimon attack. A bit too early in her opinion, but still.
"I just hope this is not anything too dangerous," Hawkeye said. "My village can't withstand another attack if that's what this turns out to be." Finally Yuuki would pull off his headphones and talk to Kaya and Hawkeye directly. He asked when was the last time he and Kaya came here, or got into contact with the village. "We visit the village every other human world week. We regularly make contact with them, as it was my home at one point."
Since it was within two weeks of human world time, then that meant that whatever was happening here was a repeat event. He asked them to guide them to his village to talk to them about the situation. "Um... sure, I will, but I must warn you that the village is not open to outsiders. They may be extra cautious due to the frequency wave as well. Follow us, we know the way."
Kaya and Hawkeye would then lead Tatsuya and Blake (and Hana's group, if they decided to join) along the path to Hawkeye's village. It would not be a long walk at all, roughly around five to ten minutes. The group would see a couple small buildings come into view-
THWIIIIIIIP!
Before anyone could realize it, the entire group had fallen into a basic rope trap, being suspended upwards in a rope net. Tens of rookie level Digimon would come from the village and surround the now trapped group, most of them in a fighting position. Hawkeye truly wasn't kidding when he said that the village didn't trust outsiders.
"WAIT GUYS, IT'S US," Kaya pleaded, "It's Kaya and Hawkeye! Remember us?"
And just like that the various villagers went from combat ready to "ooooh, we made a mistake." A nearby SnowAgumon would use their claws to cut the rope suspending the net, allowing the group to safely fall back onto the ground. A Jijimon walked up to their former captures. "Welcome back, Kaya and Hawkeye. I am terribly sorry about the trap, you two. We didn't see you among the group and we jumped the Tylomon, I'm afraid."
"It's alright, it's good to see you, Jijimon," Kaya reassured the old man Digimon as she gave him a small hug.
"Jijimon, we brought outsiders with us today because they want to ask you about... well, the odd occurrence that happened just a little bit ago."
"Ah yes, that frequency wave... that's why we were more cautious than usual." Jijimon looked over at Tatsuya and Blake. 'We'd be happy to answer any questions that you have, though I do not know how helpful we'll be."

Hana, Sakura and the Twins were entirely focused on the incoming mist, and completely missed the fact that everyone else had left to go to the village. It wasn't until the other group was almost out of sight that Hana had noticed that they left.
"Aw, man! Why does nobody ever tell us about these things?" Hana moaned as she grabbed Data and ran after the others, Sakura and Rush following on her heels. Even while running at top speed, they couldn't quite catch up before the other group got caught in the rope trap.
When the villagers came swarming out of the village Sakura readied her swords in order to cut the others out of the net, but it seemed that the villagers knew the other girl and Hawkmon, now known to be name Kaya and Hawkeye, and had let them out of the trap before the group of four could reach them. Sakura quickly retracted her swords, now that they were no longer needed.
"Next time, could someone actually... I don't know, talk to us about what the plan was before ditching us and leaving us alone to deal with whatever's causing the weird mist? Thanks for that, by the way." Hana said with an irritated look on her face, voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Yeesh, you're in a bad mood today." Data muttered to himself.
"What was that?"
"Nothing, nothing."

Hmmm, a far more difficult situation than imagined perhaps? But basically Hawkeye said that there's probably about six weeks digital world time between visit if that's what he pretty much caught... Might be wrong though, ah well. "In that case, yeah I'd like to meet them... if possible."
The village is not open to outsider is it? "...Then probably we can wait outside the village perimeter or something," Yuuki suggested. "Then you can call whoever is in charge or things like that so we can get inside if its needed without any issues. And well... if they don't want us to come inside the village, we're fine talking outside the village. Basically, we really just want to get information, that's all."
Though apparently the trap is set far away from the village... Immediately they're caught in net. The heck? Oh well... Should he attempt to open a portal or something to cut the rope? Spatial portals are usually very good to cut ropes. But either way... combat ready Digimons.
"This certainly does not come into our mind when they said "against outsiders"." Yuuki mused.
Hikaru grumbled slightly. If he came here officially as King of Ys, this is some kind of lese majeste for sure! But thankfully he's not the type that cares much about lese majeste. It sure makes him a bit in bad mood though. Thankfully, his holosuit stayed. Otherwise he might get his identity exposed right here. Once the rope is cut, both the human and Digimon landed easily, thanks to their anti gravity device. Yuuki dusted himself off while Hikaru shakes his grogginess away.
Looks like the other team is still around, and... well, a bit annoyed.
"Sorry, I thought you guys are not going to follow us and just gonna go to Rosewood," Yuuki admitted. "Hence I thought it wouldn't be prudent to just like that assume you guys would follow us."
He then turned his attention to the elderly Digimon. "Jijimon, was it? I have a quick question and I'll get out of your hair immediately. First, have this event happened several times before or is this the first that you experienced? If this is not the first time, can you perhaps tell us the time of the occurences? Rough guesses are fine. Second, have there been any recorded... anomaly that happened after this event happened? Third... have Rosewood been informed if this is not the first time? That's all, thank you."

"We can try our best to get them to help you," Hawkeye said before they left. Hana's group was completely unknown to Kaya and Hawkeye as they walked to the village. It was only when they all got caught in that rope net trap that the two were made aware of their presence. "Wait, you guys followed us?" Hawkeye asked, completely caught off guard.
Tatsuya quipped how this wasn't what he imagined when he heard the villagers were against outsiders. "Yeah, these guys take protecting themselves to an extreme, though I haven't seen traps like this before..."
Once the group was let out of the trap Hana shared her irritation about the others not talking to them about what the plan was, and how the others just ditched them to deal with that weird mist. "I'm sorry, I thought you guys were gonna go down to Rosewood. Then again, you probably did hear that horrible sound too so you might've wanted to check it out as well..." Wow, the relationship between these two parties was not good at all.
Tatsuya turned back to Jijimon, asking him three questions: Had this event happened before in the past? "No, it has not happened before. We were completely caught off guard by the sudden frequency. We thought it was a sign of an attack so we set up this trap just in case." Second, did something else happen after the first anomaly? "Hm... I did overhear a couple of the other villagers mention something about mist, but I didn't see anything." And third, has Rosewood been informed? "No, we have not mentioned anything here to Rosewood quite yet."
And just like that, it seemed like Tatsuya and Blake's business with the village has been completed, so now there was no need to hang around this village. The other Digimon would just glare at the outsiders until they were out of view, but Jijimon was at least a bit more chivalrous. "Do be careful, I do not like the looks of whatever is happening in the Server Woods right now."
"Thank you for helping us, Jijimon. Sorry that our trip here was cut short, we were actually coming to visit you today."
"Don't you worry about a thing, dear Kaya," Jijimon said with a slight chuckle. "Detours happen from time to time. We'll simply catch up the next time you and Hawkeye come to visit."
After Kaya and Hawkeye said their goodbyes to Jijimon and the villagers, they turned over to Tatsuya. "So this village just discovered this anomaly today, so they weren't much help. Where to next, Tatsuya?"

"Well, if there's one thing horror movies and life experience has taught me, it's that you NEVER split up the group if you can help it. Last time that happened, Data got killed by a MarineDevimon and I am NOT losing him again when we just got him back!" Hana explained. "Not to mention, what kind of people would we be if we just ignored a potentially dangerous anomaly that could hurt somebody? ...Not to mention we don't actually know what direction Rosewood's in."
Sakura nodded her head in agreement with Hana's words. "I certainly wouldn't be able to forgive myself for breaking my oath to help those who need it. I certainly wouldn't be able to call myself the Knight of Flowers if I did so. My mother in Ys would certainly be ashamed of me if I didn't do everything I could to help."
"Indeed. We may have gotten off on the wrong foot earlier, but we're not heartless enough to just abandon you guys to fend for yourselves!" Data added.
When the Jijimon answered Tatsuya's questions, it seemed that the village wouldn't be able to offer them much help on figuring out what was going on.
Once the group left the village, Hana said, "Yeah, I have to agree with Hawkeye. What should we do next?"

What should they do huh... "Move around the perimeter," Yuuki answered. "For the meantime we shouldn't touch any of the mist. If we have to absolutely touch it, then make sure that we do so with EV suit... or at least some sort of mask. For the meantime, let's go to the other side of the forest... And well... as much as I want to try to scout from above, My partner here is a bit in a pickle. He... can't reach higher stage."
"I'm a bit rusty," Hikaru commented bashfully. "I guess that's what bumming out in real world do to you! I'm pretty much a housefox!"
"Housefox..." Yuuki snrked at the image of Hikaru napping on top of a dog bed.
"Enough from you, mister! Anyway! Like my partner said, we should be close to the perimeter, but don't.... go inside just yet. We should keep distance... about let's say... probably three meters. That's about ten feet if any of you need the other measurement. Also we're doing that while heading to this area." Hikaru opened the guidebook and flipped to the pages of the area, and then pointed at the sign of a village.
"From the scale, I think we'll be walking roughly... ten kilometers? Of course if any of you could evolve and carry me and my partner that would be grand, but I'm not going to impose...."
"Or we can split here and assign task. For example.... one of us goes to the village while another two stays at the perimeter, close enough to check whatever going on. Whcih one will you choose? Should we go together, or should we split? I personally think whoever is the fastest should go to this village and then relay the information back to us, while I and Blake here can stay around the perimeter to check whether it still spills or not. We got EV suit and some other tools."

"I mean, it's not like we can read your mind, I didn't know what you were going to do," Kaya explained back. "I'm glad you did follow us though. The more help, the better!" She didn't even want to comment on the whole "my partner Data died" thing again, because honestly she was scared of discussing something like that. After all, if Hawkeye died he wouldn't be able to reincarnate thanks to his corrupted data making something like that impossible.
"And splitting up isn't always a bad option," Hawkeye added, raising a claw in explanation. If this were an anime, a chibi-esque demonstration would be playing on the screen at this point. "Say there are two separate paths that lead to the same place, only you don't know which path would be the correct one to take. Thus you split the group up and eventually rendezvous at the point where the two paths meet up. Plus it allows you to cover more ground that way."
Now was the time to discuss their next action to take. Tatsuya suggested to move around the perimeter, while also avoiding touching any of the mist, at least not without an EV suit or a mask. "Do you think that mist does something bad to people that touch it?"
"It would be best to not find out the hard way and simply avoid it." Blake also mentioned how he was having trouble Digivolving thanks to spending so long in the human world. That would most likely be a problem later.
Blake would then open up a guidebook of the area and Tatsuya would suggest that the group splits up. One group would go to a village of interest while the others would move around the perimeter as previously discussed. Apparently a faster Digimon would be preferable for going to the village while the others go to the perimeter. They were free to decide who went where. "I am fairly fast as Halsemon. Kaya and I will go to the village and gather any information we can."
Once all had been decided and the groups were ready to go, Kaya would raise her Digivice outwards. "Digimental Up!"
"Hawkmon, Armor Evolution!" The mask of Halsemon would then appear on Hawkeye's face, before the rest of his body began to glow and morph more and more into the shape of a griffon-like bird creature. "Halsemon, the Wings of Love!" And once Halsemon arrived, Kaya would hop onto his back and the two would fly all the way down to the village at their highest speed, which was admittedly pretty fast.

"Well, if Kaya and Hawkeye are heading to the village the I guess we're gonna watch the perimeter with... I'm sorry, I never caught your names." Hana said to the man and the Dorumon. "I'm Hana, and these three are Sakura, Data and Rush. We, uh don't have any EV suits or masks, but we can help give you a lift. Even if your partner can't digivolve right now, Data and Rush's Ultimate forms are big enough to carry a couple of people on their backs."
"That should be okay for me and Rush." Data added, and Rush nodded his head in agreement. As Hawkeye armor digivolved to Halsemon and took off with Kaya on his back, Hana prepared to digivolve her partners as well.
"Show time, everyone!" Hana exclaimed as she held her digivice in front of her. "Execute! Super digivolution!"
"Hagurumon digivolve to... Megadramon!" Data said, as his Hagurumon form was replaced with that of a winged, cybernetically-enhanced dragon.
"Chrysalimon digivolve to... Infermon!" The Chrysalimon's shell split open to release a blue, purple, and white spider-like Digimon.
As Hana climbed on the Infermon's back, Data gestured for the other Tamer and his partner to climb on his back. "I sincerely hope you two aren't afraid of heights."
"Luckily, I can fly on my own." Sakura proudly stated as she twirled in the air.

"Tatsuya and Blake. I'm Tatsuya and that's Blake," Yuuki answered. "In case that you don't have EV suits, mind doing something else for me?" he asked. "I'd like you to go as high as you could to the center, check if the mist reaches certain height. There's no need for any entry. Then go right across. If you think that you could also go around this area, then please do so. I'll stay here just in case."
Seems there's no budging the guy. He'ss eem to be intent on searching what's wrong with the forest.
Should the team leave them be, though, Yuuki would calls out his real Digivice, summoning it out of thin air. intertwined golden chain still glows on its screen. As this point, he can't evolve Hikaru still... but his idea is different this time around. Yuuki would pick a fist sized rock and tied it to a rope. He then hurled it to the mist. He then begin a timer.
As for next step... He took out atmosphere analyzer and pointed it at the mist.
"...................Hmn."
"From that long silence I can see you don't like it already."
"...Yeah, this... this might be more problematic than I thought..."
Across the screen, Yuuki saw the most concerning reason: ExD Contamination Factor: 3.8735%
He pulled back the rock that was tied to the rope and analyzed it just in case. To his surprise, what tied on the end is no longer a rock, but something... something hard, yet at the same time gelatinous. The center of the core is golden. So in a sense it looked like a slime with a core, but it's hard like a rock. Before long however it starts growing outward into more crystalline shape.
Mineral of Unknown Lore A material that changes form between concentrated hardness into crystalline protrusion constantly, almost like a beating heart. Its origin is unknown, but is assume to have undergone structural change thanks to being exposed to some unknown infectant. It's known that it have very strong light element. Further analysis might be needed.
"We don't have any time for further analysis I guess," Yuuki commented. "Those trio could return here anytime. Kaya and Hawkeye too. Last thing we want to be seen doing is doing things with this digivice," Yuuki mused, chuckling at the D-NexT. He dismissed it as easily.as he called it, and readied the item in case the team returned. At least he could explain what's up.
Upon closer inspection, the mist is thankfully does not reach much above the tree lines. However, it's... wide, really wide. Perhaps it's about four hectares or something of that size. The mist stopped pouring at some point, but it's concerning, as there are sounds of growls and other wild beast like noises.
Kaya and Hawkeye meanwhile found...t aht the village is eerily silent. Fear in the air is apparent from how many the windows are fortified with wooden planks, and how more importat facilities like the storage are barred with pike traps. Sometimes they could see sights on them, but whoever opened the window would be quickly pulled by their older family member away from the window before it slammed shut. Unlike Hawkeye's villlage, this one... seem to resigns themselves to more passive approach... and they doesn't seem to have any guards... which is... concerning.
What to do?

As the Halsemon soared through the forest, Kaya couldn't help but look down at the eerie mist that was now covering most of the ground below them. This was all so strange, and kind of scary too. Tatsuya and Blake both seemed concerned about the event as well. As a precaution, Kaya pressed a button on her Digivice and activated her EV suit, the thin layer of invisible energy now surrounding her and hopefully protecting her.
The duo could immediately tell that something was wrong when Hawkeye landed in the village. Kaya hopped off of Hawkeye and looked around... there was seemingly no one in the village currently. Not only that, the houses had their windows boarded up as if they were keeping something out.
"Um... hello?" Kaya called out. "Is there anyone here? We just wanna... ask you some questions..."
"I think this village has been abandoned, Kaya," Hawkeye said. "That, or something got to the Digimon living here first."
"Don't say that," Kaya snapped back, in a bit more of a serious tone than usual. Then she looked at a window of a nearby house. She swore that she could see someone looking out of the window from within, but just as quickly someone seemed to pull them away from that window.
"...we should head back to the others," Kaya said. She could tell that they weren't going to have any luck trying to talk to someone here. "I don't like being here anymore, this place is scaring me."

Seeing as Tatsuya and Blake weren't going to hop on his back, Data flew up with Sakura, while Infermon quickly darted from tree to tree around the perimeter of the mist without getting too close to it while Hana clung to his back.
As Data and Sakura flew above the treetops, they saw that the mist didn't seem to go very far above the treetops.
"Hmm, this mist must be relatively heavy if it's mostly staying below the treetops." The Megadramon said, as he examined their surroundings. He noticed that there were beast-like growls and other noises coming from within the mist. "I don't like this, Sakura. I feel like we're missing something, since whatever's going on in there isn't natural."
"Agreed. I'm glad we didn't bring Mint with us. I wouldn't want him anywhere near this mess." Sakura replied, nodding her head at the Megadramon's words.
Back with Hana and Rush, the duo had gone in nearly a full circle around the mist. It didn't seem like the mist was spreading any further, but it didn't make them feel any less uneasy.
"Let's get back to the others, Rush. I don't feel comfortable being out here by ourselves." Hana said in a concerned voice. The Infermon grunted and nodded in agreement, then began running back towards Tatsuya and Blake as fast as his spidery legs would allow.

Upon seeing the Megadramon returned with the Infermon, Yuuki would pretend as if nothing happened and kind of pulled the rope that attached to the Mineral of Unknown Lore. "Welcome back you three. Tried to do some experiment and welll... I don't quite like what happened," Yuuki showed them the material. "This was a normal rock, like this one..." he picked up another random one then this time tossed it in. Just like the other one, after about five mintues it started metamorphosing. Yet there are still no explanation why the trees are relatively normal for the meantime.
"I gotta keep them for further study just in case, but... well, I guess it's about time we met with Kaya and Hawkeye... Can you guys perhaps go find them for me? It seems that something... seem to be going on over there..."
As much as the two wanted to stay more to analyze.... This entire situation is getting a bit out of hand. It feels unwise to stay on the perimeter. "....Oh right, uh.... In case we're going to enter for real... I think just in case you should be careful of nasuea or headache. When it gets too much, tell your Digimon to fly out of the mist, then stay out for about ten seconds. Then you should be good to enter. Anyway, we should get in touch with those two."
Kaya and Hawleye suddenly would hear something rustling, as if someone working fast to remove blockade from one of the building. Immediately after, someone came out, a boy of her age. "Whoah! Oh God, thank you! I was stuck here for six days! Please, please! Tell me that you're here to save us all? You heard those strange screech right!?"
From the look of it, this guy... looked so out of his mind that he's basically trembling. His smell wasn't flattering either, like someone who could barely get out for six days.
"Please, please, you have to get us out of here!"
Well what started from a simple adventure ended up as something more who could have guessed!
