A show for the ages! (YsReq 2.3) (Rebecca, Alucard, Dylan)

The human boy's eyes staid on the floor (along with the rest of him) even as soda soaked in and scorn piled on. Bit an overreaction much? Dylan thought bitterly, but he read the room and knew full well those were not words to say out loud. To most of it, he paid no mind. This was the moment when the monsters were angry but not showing him the stabby bits, and there was no need to even move during this tenuous phase of the conflict lest he risk tipping the scale.
But the boy knew he had to scramble for his feet as soon as one of the monsters said starting a fight was a real possibility. That was when he deftly threw his own body upright, extra fluid weight be damned, and locked eyes with the Agumon who was most antagonizing him. Now it was time to change tactics. As non-threatening as the boy really looked by comparison, even with the height difference, the boy spread his feet a little and closed his dominant fist. He would not back down.
"What do you know? Kid's got guts after all." Shoutmon mused with Musimon.
"You're gonna help him, right?" Musimon in return asked Shoutmon.
The red digimon first shot a look across the room at Octavio, who paid a pretty loud and noticeable safety hazard on his floor an unconscionably low amount of attention, so Shoutmon believed. Man, that's not how you treat your audience, the digimon fumed. He knew exactly what he would have done in that spot: stop everything and make sure someone who came to his show was OK, encourage the nearby audience to help out, and have removed whoever was looking for trouble. There was a side of Shoutmon that preferred to stride right up to the octopus and give them a piece of his mind, and that was probably what he would have done six weeks ago. Now Shoutmon had a human to look after, and that came first.
"You guys are gonna give the kid a little space," Shoutmon told Agumon, Gabumon, and as well he'd make eye contact with Posiedon if the Gomamon's body language was at all confrontational. The words weren't a request or even an instruction but a confident statement of fact. "A festival for harmony between humans and digimon, and you go and gang up on him his first time even seeing our world 'cause he tripped. Does that make you feel big and strong, or what?" Shoutmon was placing himself between Dylan and the twins, unarmed and with his hands down but ready to change both those things.
As glad as the boy was to have Shoutmon standing up for him, he was scared the dragon was about to swing the pendulum of ire too far in the other direction. Yet he couldn't say a word or move a muscle for risk of accidentally escalating further with these strangers. Where Shoutmon took up Dylan's earlier body language of assertiveness, the boy's conversely became loose and meek. This interaction too much of their attention for them to know that someone had just died in the building.

The sight of Tartar literally falling apart caused Octavio to momentarily freeze in shock. Sure, he never really liked Tartar, but he never wanted the mad scientist to actually die! He then realized what he needed to do. Darting over to a toolkit they'd brought to fix damaged audio equipment, he opened the toolkit to grab a couple of screwdrivers and other tools. "Master's degree in Engineering, don't fail me now."
The ShogunOctomon quickly grabbed Tartar's head and torso and began using his tools to quickly start reattaching the two pieces back together. He almost missed the Angemon coming over to investigate the girl's screaming, but quickly told him, "My friend here literally fell apart, and I'm trying to put him back together before he actually dies. Do NOT distract me."
After a couple of minutes, Tartar's head was securely reattached to his torso, so Octavio opened a panel on the Kokuwamon X's back and flipped a couple of switches. "Yggdrasil, I hope this works."
After being set back down on the ground, the half-repaired Kokuwamon X's eyes lit back up with a boot-up tone. He looked around for a moment before noticing his current state. "What in Lucemon's name happened to me? I know my operating system crashed, but why am I literally in pieces?"
With a sigh of irritation, the Kokuwamon's eyes started flashing red as the various pieces scattered on the floor started moving on their own and crawling back towards Tartar, where they moved to reattach themselves. Once the reconstruction was complete, Tartar stood back up and face the three individuals gathered around him as Octavio filled him in on what had happened.
"I apologize for the inconvenience. I modified my own frame to be modular, but it seems that I still have a few problems to work out. A simple system crash shouldn't have been enough to cause my pieces to fall apart so easily like that." Tartar apologized.

"What, so we're just gonna let this kid walk away scot-free after he soaked us with dark bubbly sugar water?" Agumon angrily asked his brother. The yellow dinosaur's hot-headed side was definitely starting to show, so before things got too ugly Gabumon would have to be the one to naturally cool him down.
"Yes," Gabumon sternly said , grabbing Agumon's arm as the organic-looking Shoutmon, who seemed to be the boy's partner, arrived to help stop the fighting. "It's nothing but some soda. I'm upset that I was drenched in it, yes, but like the Shoutmon said, this a festival of harmony. It was merely an accident on his part. Please let it go."
Agumon growled. He knew that Gabumon was right, but WOW that anger was just so intense that letting it go was just an impossibility at that moment in time! Agumon was a very easy Digimon to anger, after all. Agumon glared at the Shoutmon protecting the human. "First things first, I was never going to strike him. I have a partner of my own, i would never do that. Second thing second, he still got us all sticky. I demand some kind of compensation!"
"You're in no position to demand anything," Gabumon said with a glare towards Agumon. He turned to the human and Shoutmon and bowed. "Please forgive my brother. He's very passionate and easy to anger, and-"
"OH MY GOD, HE'S DEAD!"
That was when the scream sounded. Both Agumon and Gabumon turned to the source of the scream with genuine concern on their faces. "WOLF!" they both yelled before running up onto the stage. Once they arrived along with the Angemon from earlier, White Wolf was in a state of complete shock, and the twins were speechless as well when they laid their eyes upon the fallen-apart robotic Digimon. The DJ was now seemingly attempting to put the poor guy back together, warning everyone not to bother him. "White Wolf, what happened here?"
"I... I... I don't know..." Wolf responded in a hoarse whisper. "He just fell apart... fell apart..."
After a few minutes, the ShogunOctomon seemed to have finished putting the Kokuwamon-X's head and torso together, flipping a couple switches before he regained consciousness, the rest of him now coming together like the Iron Giant. The DJ explained what happened, and the Kokuwamon-X apologized to everyone who had crowded around there. "Oh thank god, you're not dead," White Wolf said with a sigh of relief as she fell to her knees. "I thought it was my fault that you... that you died..."

Though getting restless from the spot Alucard had told him to stay, Poseidon was itching with curiosity about what was going on seeing as almost everyone but he, the human that drenched the Agumon, the human's Shoutmon partner, and the Shoutmon's acquaintances had headed to the stage in response to the girl's scream. He then looked to the human boy and said "I hope everything is okay up there. If dad didn't tell me to stay put I would of followed to be honest." He ran his clawed flipper through his mane before he then said "Anyway, I'm Poseidon. What's your name?" His posture was far from hostile so perhaps they would all be able to be calm and talk.
Up on stage, Alucard watched as when it seemed the Kokuwamon X was fine and was soon back in one piece. It was sure handy that he seemed to be able to gather his pieces in such an effective manner which made the process of being put back together much simpler for his octopus companion. Looking at White Wolf who had collapsed to her knees in relief Alucard, though he didn't understand completely why, and in his familiar cold tone said "Some machine digimon have the ability to fall apart without permanent harm though I have never seen such a trait in a Kokuwamon X before." Yes this Kokuwamon X was indeed fascinating.

"Yeah, that's what I thought! You got nothin'!" Shoutmon thought he had to get in the last word with Agumon and Gabumon. His pride couldn't accept less. He knew the real reason they were running was in answer to some noise, but what did he care about that? Not his business, especially not right now. Like a switch, the digimon's personality shifted to carefree and happy soon as the antagonists had taken off, which was when the red lizard slapped his buddy's arm and complimented him, "That was kind of awesome. I thought you were gonna blink for a second, but you dug in there!"
"I mean he said he wasn't gonna hit me in the first place," Dylan modestly refuted. "I was gonna apologize if they were decent about it," he'd whine while shaking his shirt in a futile attempt to air it out. It didn't help. Instead he knelt down and set his gig bag on the floor, now in a position where he had to inspect it after a spill and a fall.
At least the Gomamon was cool about things. Since they were already at eye level (or, closer to it) now that Dylan was on his knees, the boy answered, "Uh, Dylan. And he's Shoutmon. Also, sorry. Gonna look where I'm going next time." While the boy assured Poseidon of that, he anxiously unzipped his bag and let the world see inside it: a very shiny, obviously well-cared for (before now) Schecter Omen. It wasn't an instrument one would find in a digital world shop, seeing as human world company Schecter didn't do much shipping to the digital world, but someone obviously loved it enough that it looked like it was right out of the box... even after the fall. Dylan could be sure of it; he flipped it one way, then another, tugged the pickups, eyed the angle of the bridge, and just did all the inspection he could without opening it up. "Well... that's something, I guess."
"All good?" Unlike Dylan, the Musimon from before had a much easier time carrying three cups, which she had just brought with her as she came onto the scene.
"Think so." Shoutmon held Dylan's pop while the boy packed and slung the instrument back over his shoulders, after which the boy was glad to have a sip and not a spill about now.

"No, this accident had nothing to do with you, girl. It was nothing more than a simple malfunction, so do not worry about it." Tartar said as he brushed himself off and got back to his feet. "Your concern is duly noted, but we should continue this performance before the audience starts rioting."
"You sure you can handle this, Tartar?" Octavio asked the Kokuwamon X.
"If I wasn't, I would not be suggesting that we continue." Tartar curtly replied.
"I guess that's fair." Octavio reluctantly agreed, before turning to White Wolf, her partners, and Alucard. "You four can stay back here if you want, or go back to the audience. Your choice."
Having said his part, Octavio went back on stage and addressed the audience. "Sorry about that, folks. My backstage technician had an accident, but he's fine now. As for the guy in the audience who tripped earlier, are you okay? I'm sorry I didn't check on you earlier."

It seemed Alucard wasn't needed back there. He wasn't a mechanic and there was no life or death struggle against evil so someone with a niche skill like vampire slaying wasn't going to be much help. Deciding to go back to his son Poseidon he hopped gracefully off the stage and walked his way back.
Poseidon saw his father coming and, after seeing that his father wasn't in ready for battle, his tail began wagging. "Dad, what happened on stage?"
"Technical Malfunction." Alucard answered flatly and Poseidon nodded.
"So does that mean the show will be starting soon?" Poseidon asked in an innocent tone which was surprising seeing as the Gomamon had seen things folks would be stunned by and was able to maintain a positive attitude. Maybe that was just how that kid was. At some level Alucard wished he could be like his son but that was one thing the Angemon would keep to himself.
"Seems like it." Alucard said sitting next to Poseidon and calming himself by threading his finger's through his son's mohawk resulting in the seal like digimon releasing a soft purr.

Dylan needed a moment to realize that he was being addressed by the giant talking octopus from the stage. He needed another to finish drinking from his red plastic cup in order to answer, which the boy signaled with one hand holding up one finger to ask for a minute while the other hand chugged soda like Dylan was just fresh from the desert. At that point he had already committed to the drink, and he couldn't be stopped now. It was only once the young man was good and satisfied that he lowered his cup and turned the free hand pointing a finger into a thumbs-up gesture instead. Dylan went on to mouth the words that he was safe well, then tried shouting just in case his voice actually did carry that far. "Yeah! All good here!"
Though uninjured, Dylan didn't forget that he was nevertheless soaking wet, a fact he mourned by tugging on his shirt and fanning it a little, as if that could make any difference. That was also when he realized the pick he wore like a necklace had ended up inside his shirt, and so he tugged it back out and let it hang openly again. Beside him, Shoutmon crossed his arms and smirked arrogantly, like it was darn right that someone thought to check on his partner.
