"Yes, Marin-sama..." Yaku nodded, bowing again as he continued to say yes and nod to his superior. "I'm just naturally sheepish, Marin-sama... since I was a little boy... but I will do what you ask, Marin-sama... I hope you're right about Early, Marin-sama" Yaku nodded, standing upright finally.
"No offence, Marin-sama, but That and Tabernacle seem like unusual names for your children... Why did you choose them? I mean, I assume from what I've seen and what you've told me they've grown up fine but it still seems unusual to me."

The small Mega digimon hoped Yaku would get along with Early. Not that Early would be unfriendly to a co-worker. "Of course I'm right about Early. I've worked with him more than long enough to say that he's a good digimon. But he knows the usual stigma of his appearance and, hey, think about it from his side. Sure he's used to it, but the fewer people who treat him differently because of what he is, the better.
As for the names, heh heh..." Marin couldn't help but chuckle at the comment. "First off, Early and Katie are the parents. After me and Lilly took them in we became the aunt and uncle of the group. Secondly, those four named themselves. They were a ragtag bunch scrounging to make ends me and none of them had actual names before we met them. Once they got settled with us they named themselves. Tab heard the name somewhere and That Guilmon just wanted an awkward name."

"..." Yaku was silent and looked at the family photo again. "...He more resembles your wife than his..." He mumbled before shaking his head. "Regardless... They name themselves? ...Does this mean children grow faster in this world than in mine? I suppose it would explain why most other humans I have met are children... That is indeed an awkward name, anyway... lead the way to Early-sama... I am looking forward to changing out of these clothes I have worn for quite some time now..." Yaku gave a smile as he grabbed his briefcase and readied to leave the restaurant.

As Marin led Yaku out, he began to speak once more as he waved to Lilly upon leaving. "Well, yes, our youngins do grow up faster than humans... but how they get their names tend to vary. Annnyway..."
He was taken to Early, who was outside, waiting with his wife. When he came out, Katie had hugged Early. "Hey, honey, stay safe, alright? "
"Aww, snookums, you know I will, Vile. Don't worry, it won't be too long, Vile."
Vile rubbed Katie's head before nuzzling and kissing each other. Marin nudged Yaku softly to regain his attention. "This is normal for them. Anyway, make sure you pick something comfy and loose. You're gonna be moving around a lot when you start working."

"Yes sir..." He nodded and approached Early, following alongside him. It was clear from his body language (shaking knees, fidgeting with his suitcase, and gulping) he was yet to be comfortable with Early as he was with the rest of the "family". Occasional passing glances to his new boss were simply to make sure he was still going the right direction.
"...I thought most digimon didn't wear clothes." He finally said, hoping not to seem rude to him. "I-I mean... Lily does but I just assumed that was part of her... you know..."

As he led the human to the clothing store first, it was obvious to Early that Yaku was not comfortable around him, but this was not something new to him. Unexpected, sure, as the human didn't look disturbed by his appearance before, but perhaps maybe it just hit him at some point. Of course, he's made no attempt to look different... no reason to. He was a Vilemon, and he had more important things to do than to make himself look less threatening.
Yaku asked about digimon and clothes... perhaps a nice conversation will ease the human towards not being afraid of him.
"This is a city where many digimon and humans reside in, Vile. So there are places around here that sells human clothes, Vile.
As for digimon wearing clothes, some do and some don't, Vile. Lilly's clothes are not a part of her, Vile. You've seen the bite mark on her arm, the burns on her tail, and the scar on her snout, right, Vile? Her dress is hiding a large number of other scars, Vile. I was told that there was a point where she was quite a rough and tumble digimon, picking fights and beating up other digimon, Vile. For all intents and purposes I'm surprised she herself isn't dead yet, Vile.
She can tell you her full story, but Lilly changed her ways, Vile. Still, her scars can be rather distracting to most. So she wears a dress."
There was a short pause, and then the Vilemon decided to try another conversation. "So, Mr. Tridori... what family do you have back home?"

"Humans LIVE here?" He asked, interested. He'd never have guessed that this place (the digital world as a whole but this location especially, being so close to a dangerous jungle) would be a place populated by humans... he just figured that little girl he met on the first day was a special case, considering she lived so close to the exit back to the human world. Yaku nodded and listened, trying to imagine Lilly before she'd gotten into so many fights... it wasn't easy, obviously.
Then came the question of family. "Um... well..." He began. "I have my wife and... well... I don't really have much of a family. It's part of the reason I want to go home so bad. My wife is my everything, she's a smart woman with a lot of ability... I'm just... I'm just a guy who can hardly keep myself from hurting myself. It's like one of those American romantic comedies... except this one ends with me stranded here and her a widow." He sighed, looking at Early. "...You probably don't know what any of that means. You're not a complex group, you Digimon. If you lost your wife you could just sniff out a trail or something... I? I'd have to... I'd have to make posters and hope. I'd be all alone if I lost my wife... It's been a week, Early-sama, d-do you think she's still looking for me?"

Early listened to Yaku speak, and was at least enjoying an actual conversation... until the mention of how simple digimon were. About how, if Early lost Katie he could simply sniff her out. It was demeaning and offensive. The Vilemon turned towards the human and spoke in a stern voice.
"Did you just call all of us 'simple', Vile? Excuse me, but I find that offensive, Vile. Even if we are "not that complicated", and I have a very pronounced verbal tic, I'd never deign to throw around any human specific prejudices, Vile. It's just not right, Vile. My sense of smell is not that great, and if... if I ever lost my Katie I'd be madly searching for her, Vile. I love her, and she loves me, and down playing our feelings for each other is just grating, Vile.
I've had nothing for so, so long before Katie, Vile. If you really love your own wife, I'm certain you'd understand what me and Katie have, Vile. Without my family... without Katie I don't have any reason to live, Vile."
Early looked down, trying to compose himself. He underestimated how much Yaku's words had effected him.

Both Yaku and Early felt sad now. He'd accidentally stabbed a companion and co-worker in the back after he'd offered the hand of friendship... it was like how the ice-pick of bitter rejection found its way into his spine many times before. "...Listen, Early-sama... I was... I just... there's a reason I tried to keep my head down and mouth shut in the human world... Something about me just seems unlikeable... I-I really hope you didn't take it that way, I didn't mean it like that... I just... my mind started going places and my mouth followed... I'll be silent, Early-sama."
It was an awkward silence that hung in the air as Yaku had once again burned the bridges behind him. Early probably thought he was a racist idiot, with no care for anyone but himself and his wife. He'd need to find a way to stop that blaze, and fast. Before I could think up anymore fire-related, he sprung into action. "...Your wife is very nice." He began. "Sh-she reminds me of mine... except, you know... mine probably doesn't have any powers..."

Hearing Yaku talk a bit more and give his attempt at an apology, Early closed his eyes and took a deep breath. If he couldn't forgive this human who seemed to have a Nack for saying the wrong things, but was at least trying to apologize, then he'd not deserve to work for Lily. He briefly remembered when his family first met Lilly, which was after they stole her hot dog cart for food. Lilly took pity on them and brought them along, and her and Marin became part of the family.
"Thank you, Mr. Tridori... although powers or lack thereof shouldn't be an issue when it comes to our mates, Vile. Just... please watch your words and consider others, Vile.
You say that you tend to inadvertently hurt someone while speaking... but look at me, Vile. I'm a Vilemon, Vile. I've had plenty of times where I creeped someone out, as generally most others of my race aren't... all that good at heart, Vile. You have the chance of choosing your words before risking someone not liking you, Vile. I simply don't have that luxury, Vile.
Anyway, let's go get you an outfit, Vile. We shouldn't spend too much time here, Vile."
Early went back to lead the way. Within 15 minutes they reached a clothing store that sold human clothing. Nothing too far from what one would normally expect from a tropical town, so no dress shirts or slacks. Still, as Marin said, the clothes should be loose and comfortable.
"Okay, Mr. Tridori, please pick out a full outfit, Vile. Tomorrow we'll do the laundry and have your clothes cleaned as well, Vile. '

Yaku sighed in relief, his gambit had succeeded and his boss no longer hated him. "Thank you, Early-sama. I would offer to show you a photo but I left it in the bedroom... It's safer there than in my briefcase... I... I am also sorry to have judged you on how you... looked. You are my superior and I should learn to respect you and your wife. ...I cannot say I know what you mean, b-but I do have a similar idea. M-many take me or a push-over... a-and I am... but they take me for a nerd... B-but I'm not all that smart. I-I can hardly deal with my personal money and... I'm just a mess at trying to keep track of things. I-I'm sorry, you probably want to know my wife's name because I know yours... her name is Asari." Nodding at the Vilemon's orders, he went into the shop and looked for some fitting clothes.
After five minutes, Yaku returned in golf clothing. A pink polo shirt and a pair of white sneakers adorned the businessman, who smiled at the Vilemon as he approached. "These look good, don't they?"

Yaku seemed pretty useless on his own, Early thought. Not in an overtly insulting way. By his admission his wife did most of the important things around the house, and he couldn't do much without her. It was an odd sort of detrimental humility that he rarely saw. A lack of confidence that made him wonder if Yaku could handle the job, if even for a few days. But he was more than willing to let him have his chance.
If only he'd just stop calling him his superior. Early has seniority but the two husbands still have the same job, and as such merely Co-workers.
Yaku went and got changed into the new outfit. Looking at him, Early scratched his head. Although his slow response time wax not for what Yaku might have thought. "Huh, Pink, Vile. The color oddly enough makes you fit in more, Vile. Since, well, we have me, Katie, and That, who are black, and Lilly, Marin, and you, who are pink, Vile.'

"Pink? ...The salesman told me it was bright red..." Yaku mumbled, going to Early's side, looking slightly embarrassed. "They won't make fun of me, will they?" Yaku asked. "I mean, I can take it, but I won't enjoy it."
Yaku began following Early back home, hoping to find the rest of the family's opinion on this matter. ((Sorry about the short post... writers block))

"Hey, whatever you have against pink is none of my concern, Mr. Tridori, Vile. But I'm sure on one else would bat an eye over it, Vile."
Early was about to tell Yaku to get another shirt, but begrudgingly he took it anyway. The next stop was, however, not the restaurant. Yaku still had to get cleaned up, so he was taken over to a motel. After Early traded a few words with the clerk, he took the human over to a room.
"Remember, just shower and clean yourself up, Vile. Don't make too much of a mess here or we'll be charged extra, Vile."
After that, he left Yaku alone. He knew humans tended to be hesitant to be naked in front of others. He wasn't too sure Yaku was the same, but he was not going to risk it.

Yaku blinked as he was lead into the average hotel-room. Confused, but not unhappy with this change of pace, he went into the shower and let himself get cleaned. He began thinking, a dangerous tactic for the usual human being.
The digital world, as it was called, was just that: a world of data... do his new friends actually exist or are they just semi-sapient AI doing what they were programmed to do? ...Was that human he met real or just another AI screwing with him? At least Yaku knew that he, himself, was real at one point... but is he still real? Is he still matter or just data? If he is matter how come this food and water composed of data was keeping him from going hungry or thirsty?
If he is data, why can he still feel pain and discomfort? How does he still know fear and happiness? Where was the server that kept the Digital World? How did it manage to puncture a hole into the real world if it was, indeed, just data...? The whole thing hurt his head. Shampooing lead him to thoughts of his wife, Asari.
She was smarter and more athletic than him. If she were here, he'd have gotten on the right train in the first place and never met that... monster and his bear. But he would have never met UFADO or the kind and loving, albeit unusual, family who lived in the diner... he was torn between returning to this world and trying to force it from his memory. It wasn't a decision to be made now, it it was still a very important one to contemplate.
Getting redressed and leaving the room, Yaku waited for his boss to come get him.
