"David, remind me why we're out here."
"I took a job to take care of some bees."
"Right, but who gave you the job?"
"I got it off that board in town."
"I keep a pretty good eye on the Rosewood jobs, but don't remember seeing anything about whatever bees are."
"Those were boring. I had to dig deep to find this one."
"Do....do you mean it was under all the other postings? Who knows how long that's been up? It might not even be valid."
"Nah. It wouldn't be there if someone didn't want it."
Ziggy wanted to continue to try and dissuade their partner, but it would be futile. Plus they were almost at their destination.
The pair crested a hill and came into view. Young David had clearly dressed himself for this mission, trying to cover up as much skin as possible. He wore a set of blue jeans with the legs tucked into thick white crew socks. Instead of a normal nerdy tee, he had on a black turtleneck that gripped his neck snugly. In addition, he had on a bike helmet, face shield, and thin biker gloves to protect the rest of his skin. Was this his idea of a bee keeper suit? Probably.
"Where'd you even get something like that" Ziggy remarked, pointing to a small metal tank strapped to the boy's back. "And what's in it?"
"Poison. And I think that some of the digimon in Rosewood don't know what a kid looks like."
"POISON?! The ModokiBetamon stopped in his tracks to berate the foolish boy."Why would you-no. Nevermind. You are not using poison. Put it in the pile."
"UGH. Fine An exaggerated exasperated sigh left David as a sign of disapproval, but he complied. Using the portal function of his Digivice, David tore a hole in the fabric of reality and dropped the industrial-strength bug spray into a hole so that it landed in Shibuya Station's Lost-and-Found pile. "But if I get stung, it's your fault."
With that settled, the duo continued towards the old manor. Ziggy honestly wanted to tell David to drop some of the protective gear, too, since it looked...well... But there was a fine line he had to walk between keeping his charge both safe and content enough to not just run off on his own.
Ziggy stood at the door and took in building up close. It was...weird. The building was obviously derelict, but something was wrong. There were signs of recent use and upkeep. Did someone recently move in?
"Hello?" David shouted into the building through the recently opened front door. Everyone is searching for a world where they belong. A place of light, free of falsehood.

The inside was warmly lit, rugs and blankets and table cloths making everything look soft and welcoming. The sound of steaming, boiling water and the clinking of plates together filled the ears of the two newcomers. A sign hung on the right hand side of the door read "Shelter for Humans and Digimon." on it in hand carved golden letters on a thick, hardwood sign.
"I'm in the back, sit down, make yourself comfy and I'll be right with you!" A voice that at once sounded welcoming and beyond stressed said, coming from a propped open door into what looked like a kitchen, a hand in an over mitt stuck out past the doorframe and stuck up its thumb, pointing at any of the haphazardly set tables and chairs.
Marigold was buzzing about, dusting and cleaning off the mantles and walls. Coughing slightly as she freed clouds of dust that had been clinging to the walls for god only knows how long. She perked up upon seeing the two of them stumbling just outside of the doorway, zipping up to them.
"Well hi there!~ I'm Marigold, my dad's in the back making some ramen for us. So come on in, make yourself feel at home, if there's anything we can get you don't hesitate to shout." She said, leading them inside until they took a seat. There were things hanging on the walls, photos of a human family as well as a young man and this same FanBeemon in various forms. It was a bit barren for the moment but that would change as things got a little more settled up. Marigold straightened the edge of the table cloth, though it was clear both the cloth and the table it was sitting on weren't in the best of shape, probably picked up from a thrift store somewhere. "Are you boys hungry?" She said, an unmistakable kindness in her eyes.
She closed the door behind them, though she didn't lock it. A fire roared in a fireplace to one side of the room as she took a small bit of kindling and tossed it on the pile, poking at it with her serrated silver stinger to make sure it was flaring up nicely, filling the room with a cozy, fuzzy warmth.
"Sorry for all the mess, we really did open the doors to this place only a few days ago. Still sorting things out. You two are our first guests though. What brings you to our Shelter then?" She said, straightening out and snapping the dust out of a long crimson scarf she wore around her neck

"Well that could've gone better," Yuji groaned as he sat down next to a random building in Rosewood, his Tentomon partner Kazuo joining him shortly after. The two had just escaped from an awkward situation where Yuji's father heard Kazuo talking... after he and Yuji had gotten into an extremely heated argument. Yuji managed to keep Kazuo's secret after a quick excuse ("I'm talking online with friends, dad.") but the whole thing was still too much for him to handle.
"I'm sorry, Yuyu," Kazuo apologized. "I shouldn't have spoken so loud. Maybe then he wouldn't have heard us."
"Neither of us could've realized he was sitting against the door that whole time," Yuji said as he stood up. "It'll be fine, we just need somewhere to crash for the night. We'll go back after I've calmed down a bit... and I'm sorry you had to see that."
"Well, maybe we can distract ourselves with a job?" the Tentomon suggested, pointing his pincer at the nearby job listing board that happened to be nearby.
"Huh, well that's handy," Yuji said as he walked over and observed the job listings. "...and the handiness continues. There's a shelter that opened up nearby here, we can probably spend the night there. What do you say?"
"A shelter?" Kazuo asked, thinking of the kind of shelter that you'd build yourself if you were stranded in the wilderness. "...but we aren't on a deserted island."
"Wh-? No no, Kazuo, this shelter is like for others who don't have anywhere else to stay. Think of it as like a hotel for the less fortunate. Come on, what could we have to lose by just checking it out, right?"
So it was decided. Digivolving Kazuo to Kabuterimon, the two would fly to the location that was explained to them on the flyer. Kazuo landed in front of the shelter and put Yuji down before de-digivolving back into Tentomon. Before they landed, they noticed two other figures walking into the shelter, so perhaps they'll meet inside? The duo walked in shortly after David and Ziggy would take a seat, noting all the pictures on the wall and how the place was indeed a bit barren. At least the place was really nice and warm thanks to the fireplace.
"Hm..." Yuji hummed after he and Kazuo took a seat, just simply observing the literal child and ModokiBetamon being waited on by the Fanbeemon. ...wait a minute, that kid is like eight years old! Is he a Tamer as well?

Almost immediately upon entering, a gracious host greeted the pair. A giant. Talking. Bee.
"AH! GIANT TALKING BEE!" Marigold would have only been able to get a couple of words out before David went into full panic mode. His nervous and motor systems completely bypassed the brain, forcing a fight or flight response. And his body chose fight. Without thinking, David reached behind his head and in one swift motion removed the bike helmet he had on and tossed it at Marigold.
Thankfully Ziggy, having developed some parental-like tendencies, was quick to react. A small jet of water expelled from his mouth, deflecting the helmet and causing it to clatter to the floor a few feet away before it could come into contact with their host. "CALM down, David."
After a few moments that seemed to drag on, David's mind finally caught back up to reality. This was no mere bee. It was a beemon. Fanbeemon. "I-erm. I thought-. I mean-." He stammered, looking downward with a now red face, embarrassed. "Sorry."
"Sorry about that. We're actually here for..." Ziggy didn't exactly have a great grasp on that, now that he had to explain it. He turned back to his partner to explain. "Actually, why don't you give her the job request?"
David fumbled through his pockets and produced a neatly folded paper. Still trying to keep as far away as possible, he stretched his arms and held it out to Marigold to take if she wished. "We came to get rid of some...um...you." Realization set in a bit too late near the end of that sentence.
The job request David handed over would explain everything. It was clearly old; sunbleached and dated several months ago. It details how someone was looking into using this building, but needed help ridding it of a hive of Fanbeemon.
"But we clearly don't need to do that." Now that things were a bit calmer, the pair began to take in their surroundings. It was comfy. Homely. The conversation had taken everyone over to the fireplace. "So since we had the wrong idea, what exactly is this place for?"
While Ziggy was wrapped up in talking to Marigold, David had sat up close to the fire, watching all the flames flicker. Neither noticed the other pair enter shortly after them. Everyone is searching for a world where they belong. A place of light, free of falsehood.

"DAD! We got some more people coming in, we need two more meals I think!" She said, shouting like an ornery old waitress toward the back room, barking the order in a very gruff manner and tone before totally flipping her script and waving at the new pair that had just walked in. "Hi there! Have a seat and we'll get you some ramen in just a second, make yourself at home." She welcomed, her father's baby blue eyes peaking out through the doorway into the back kitchen, wide with surprise and more than a bit of stress.
'Two more already? how am I...nope, nope, positive thoughts. I'll figure it out boys, please, make yourselves comfy." he said, he too popping into a much more welcoming tone to the two newcomers. Marigold reached out and took the flier from David.
"Hmm? Oh god this must be like months old, that hive has gone off to greener pastures. As for what this place is, well it says that on the door. This is a shelter. It's a place for people with nowhere else to go. Hot food, clean clothes, fresh beds. Can't promise it'll be GOOD food but it'll fill the hole." She said, looking over to the door to the kitchen, her father's shadow being cast frantically on the back wall as he stumbled from one spot to another.
"It's ALL cup ramen and hot dogs right now ok? There's RAMEN EVERYWHERE!" He said, losing his mind very audibly in the tone of his voice but in a fun, parental sort of way of a father taking on too many tasks at once.
After a little while he came out with four bowls balanced on his outstretched arms, wobbling with each step he took, laying them out one after another in front of the our guests where they had sat.
"Hi, welcome to our happy home..." He said, spinning a chair from another table around to sit down and face the four incoming "patrons" "What brings you all here tonight? Our doors are always open but it'd help if we knew what sort of trouble you all were in." He said, patting his hands down the apron he was wearing around his waist. He leaned back in his chair, letting them say as much or as little as they pleased.

The moment Yuji and Kazuo had walked in, they saw the kid throw his bike helmet right at the Fanbeemon that was serving them, and saw the ModokiBetamon he was with deflect it with a water attack. If Yuji had to guess, the kid got scared by the giant bee that was talking to them and reacted accordingly. "I have a Tentomon with me, so don't go throwing any bicycle helmets at him, okay? It'll probably anger him if you do that."
The Fanbeemon would shout in a gruff manner to her father that more guests had arrived, before she changed tune completely and told them to go have a seat in a happy manner. While Marigold probably wouldn't have noticed it, Kazuo eyes almost practically turned into hearts as soon as he laid eyes on the Fanbeemon. It was pretty much love at first sight for the Tentomon. "Pretty..." he would mumble.
"Ah, thank you very much, ma'am," Yuji would thank the bumblebee Digimon before they went to sit down at a different table. Yuji couldn't help but notice his partner just staring at the Fanbeemon as she helped out the kid and his ModokiBetamon at the other table. A smirk formed on Yuji's face. "She's nice, isn't she?"
"Very nice..." Kazuo said with a sigh. Yuji couldn't help but chuckle; Kazuo had a crush!
Suddenly the duo could hear the Fanbeemon's father shout about how there was ramen everywhere from within the kitchen. "Do you think the entire kitchen is flooded with ramen noodles, Yuyu?"
"I... maybe? I legit don't know." He sounded so stressed out that Yuji wouldn't doubt it if that was actually what was happening.
Soon after that, a human would walk out of the kitchen with four bowls in his arms, handing one to each guest that was there. What was inside the bowls was... yep, cup ramen. Kazuo would break out the chopsticks and start chowing down right away as the human asked what brought the guests here tonight. "We just needed a place away from my father tonight. We had, uh... a bit of a falling out. I'm Yuji Moriyama, and this is my partner Kazuo."
