“I’ll admit, it took a bit of a nudge from an outside party to really get the three of us to start to truly bond as a family, but I’m glad it happened. My sons are truly my greatest creations, and I am so very proud of them both.” Tartar quietly said. Even if his face couldn’t really show emotions on its own, his body language and tone showed just how much he truly believed in those words. “Wherever they decide to go with their lives, I’ll support them 100% of the way.”
After that declaration, Tartar went silent and took in the view from the top of the Ferris wheel, a faint hum emanating from his core being the only visible/audible sign that he was actually still alive. This quiet period didn’t last very long, as he snapped out of his trance when Sasha asked him if he had any goals for the future.
“The future? I suppose I haven’t actually thought about that too much, being so focused on managing things here in the present.” Tartar responded, his pincer subconsciously tapping against each other as he pondered the matter. “I suppose… that I don’t really know where I want to go in the future, aside from watching my sons grow up and find their places in the world. I’m a scientist, but I… I think I’ve forgotten just why I became a scientist in the first place. What I was trying to achieve with my work.
Well, no. I suppose there is ONE matter I want to eventually resolve. It is a rather… personal one, though, and I’m not sure if I’m ready to talk about it quite yet. I apologize if that offends you at all, but it is a matter I need to handle on my own.”
Tartar sighed, pausing for a few minutes to let his words sink in. By this point, the Ferris Wheel had passed the halfway point in its rotation, and the duo’s seat was now starting to descend back towards the ground. “I’m sorry, didn’t mean to bring down the mood by being so somber. But enough about myself. What about you? Do you have any goals for the future?”
Tartar was feeling a little guilty about talking so much about himself. This date is supposed to be about the both of them, after all.
