Lilly watched as things began to calm down as the young man introduced himself as Rai and his partner as Y2K. Sure was an interesting name for a digimon Lilly had to admit. "Nice to meet both of you. Y2K sure is an interesting name for a digimon." Lilly said before she turned to face Hana and said "It's going pretty well for me even though I found a curious barrier shortly before I found the digimental."
After that Hana introduced herself to Rai and Y2K before leaning a bit too far forward and tumbling face first into the sand. After Hana spat the sand out, Lilly said "Yeah the stuff gets everywhere. It's amazing that I don't have sand in my ears." Lilly then turned back to the barrier she discovered before lightly placing a paw on it. Then she began tapping on the barrier as if looking for some kind of weak point to it. She then scratched the back of her head while having a confused look on her face.

"He thinks he's the Millennium Bug." Rai said as if this was a drab observation. He supposed it was unusual as names went since it technically wasn't even a word, but he was honestly used to it.
"HELLLOOOO!" Y2K once more hollered excitedly. The three foot tall rookie looked like he wanted nothing more than to run to meet his newest friends-- but Rai remained wary of the Megadramon and didn't feel comfortable letting Y2K get away from him.
Rai turned his attention to Lilly and this barrier she was interacting with. "Maybe its better not to tamper with it. It has to exist for a reason right?" He of course had sand in his shoes. Wasn't going to avoid that out here.
"Maybe its where the digimental was supposed to be!" Y2K suggested. It was kind of strange that one would just be out in the open.

“I don’t think it’s really that weird.” Hana said in response to Rai claiming that Y2K thought he was the Millenium Bug. “Digimon could form from all kinds of data, so maybe he was actually born from that bug? It wouldn’t be the strangest thing I’ve ever encountered, honestly.”
“I used to be a Keramon, too!” Rush added, wriggling out of Hana’s grip so that he could toddle over to Y2K and Rai on his stubby little legs. “Then some weird stuff happened with a red guy that I don’t remember very well, and now I’m a butterfly!”
Both Hana and Data tensed at the mention of the MorphoKnightmon incident. They didn’t know if Lilly would even remember that nightmarish encounter, but Hana decided to try and shut down that line of conversation before it could begin. “Please don’t ask about what happened. It was not a fun experience.”
Of course, there was still the elephant in the room to deal with, that being the unknown barrier. Lilly seemed to be unable to find a way through the barrier, but luckily Hana had a(n almost) foolproof idea. “Well, if we need to get through the barrier, I know just who’d be good for the job. Listen up, boys! We’re gonna let Shadow take a crack at this.”
“Oh, boy.” Data said in exasperation. “Fine. Fine! Don’t blame me if this backfires, though.”
“That’s the spirit!” Hana replied, completely missing Data’s tone as she pulled out her digivice and twirled it around (nearly dropping it in the process). “DNA Digivolution, execute!”
“Megadramon/Morphomon, DNA Digivolve to…” Both Data and Rush’s bodies transformed into red and blue light that twisted together into the form of a purple humanoid. “… ShadowDuramon!”
Once ShadowDuramon was fully formed, the dark knight looked at Hana, who merely pointed at the barrier she wanted him to break. Shadow took one look at the barrier in question, and sighed in resignation. “You know the risks of what can happen whenever I come out, and you bring me out just to crack a simple barrier. As you wish, my lady. Everyone, stand far behind me, or else I can’t guarantee your safety.”
The dark knight raised one of his arms blades, which began emitting a massive, skyscraper-sized blade of purple light that ShadowDuramon quickly swung down upon the barrier. “Ex… CALIBUUUURR!”
Cooldowns:
Excalibur (RAM Upgrade): A powerful attack where ShadowDuramon generates a massive blade of purple light from one of his arm blades and brings it down upon the target for massive damage. Once per thread. Now unusable.

"Millennium bug?" Lilly asked cocking her head to the side in a cute manner that could remind someone of a confused puppy. It was clear she had never heard of the millennium bug and it was made more obvious when she asked "What is that? Some human world thing?"
Then Rush mentioned that he had once been a Keramon like Y2K before mentioning weird stuff that resulted in him becoming a Morphomon. This caused Lilly to shudder a bit as the memory came up and when Hana said not to ask about what happened, Lilly said "Unpleasant was an understatement. It was down right scary and I was only a baby when that happened."
When Y2K mentioned that the digimental might of meant to be there Lilly pondered those words before she said "Possibly so. Who knows with digimentals though right? I mean I've heard they can turn up in crazy places."
Then Lilly watched as Data and Rush DNA digivolved into ShadowDuramon and her eyes widened at the rush of tumultuous emotions rolling off of Shadow which caused the breath to hitch in the young digimon's throat as she backed away from the barrier. She stared wide eyed at Shadow before she managed to say "T-That turmoil and anger...How? J-Just why?"
Meanwhile from just out of Lilly's empathic sense the figure raised an arm as Shadow used his Excalibur swinging for the barrier. Yet boy would the DNA digivolved digimon be in for quite the surprise as a wide opening formed in the barrier which would certainly knock Shadow off balance once it was clear there was an opening.
Lilly's jaw dropped as Shadow's blade passed through the opening and she said "There is a hole in the barrier. How strange."

Rai regarded Lily's confusion with a blank look and a sigh. "So in the human world, 1000 years is referred to as a millennium, 100 years is a century, and ten years is a decade. the letter 'K' is short hand for 'thousand' here."
While inwardly intrigued, he didn't initially seem to care on the outside that there was a dark and untold story behind how a jellyfish gremlin became a butterfly, and went on with his explanation when he had an opening.
"Because of the way human world tech was before the year 2000, lots of people thought it was going to be a world ending disaster. Air travel machines falling from the sky, our super weapons firing off without leave, and tech in general that featured any clock component would fail."
He regarded the fusion of two digimon with the same blank eyes, that hid his suspicion and wariness of anything that looked so much like a dark knight from the video games and anime he consumed.
To try to distract Lily from what he assumed was the turmoil within the Shadow Knight, He opted to finish up his explanation as ShadowDuramon spoke with his tamer.
"This was anticipated as the 'Millennium Bug', or 'Y2K'; short for Year 2000. And then as people scrambled to fix the issue they thought was so important, the year 2000 arrived and... nothing happened. At least nothing of note in the human world. Its likely as anything else that data regarding the Y2K scare may have sired the Keramon's line, or even just Y2K herrrrrre..." he trailed off as a blade of violet light that pierced the sky was declared Excalibur as it was brought down on the barrier...
The barrier then seemed, as if knowing fear to move out of the way to allow the ruins to be struck instead. Some security. Whoever ran these ruins needed to fire that barrier.
"...I'm sorry I wasn't prepared for that..." he said a tiny bit less flatly. "Did... the barrier just move out of the way... to save itself? Because that's concerning."

Oh, so Lilly DID remember the MorphoKnightmon incident after all. This was something Hana would mentally jot down for future reference.
Meanwhile, for the first time in his two years of existence, Shadow was utterly confused by what he had just witnessed. The barrier in front of him, most likely designed to protect the ruins within, had seemingly just opened a hole to let his attack pass through and carve a large gouge into the very ruins it was supposed to protect (along with a long trail of glassed sand). That whole thing just made no sense whatsoever to the dark knight. “What.”
“Well, uh… mission accomplished, I guess?” Hana said, slightly tilting her head in confusion at what she’d just witnessed. “Should we just go in before the hole closes up? Because I’m pretty sure that’s not something Shadow can pull off twice in a row.”
“Fine, but you’re staying by me. No exceptions.” Shadow replied, using his tail to pull Hana closer to him. “Something about this isn’t right.”

Lilly listened patiently as Rai explained everything regarding the Millennium bug before she said "Seems like the humans were panicking for nothing but at least it made the humans of that time more cautious of how they go about things in the future if only a little. I am glad that nothing happened so I got the chance to meet humans and go into their world."
When Rai and Shadow voiced their concerns regarding the barrier a hmm sound came from Lilly before she said "I agree with the both of you. As curious of what lies beyond the barrier that I am what worries me most is why something let an attack pass through an opening in the barrier however invisible." She then looked at the group before she said "I agree we should go in but we should be on our guards as we don't know what we may find within."
Lilly then cautiously looked back and forth before reaching out toward the hole in the barrier with a paw and, after not feeling anything, passed cautiously through seeing an exterior castle wall somewhat damaged as well as sand around it turned to glass but otherwise the enormous structure was intact in no danger of collapsing. Seemed whomever built this place made it built to last. Carefully approaching the castle gate Lilly gaped in surprise as it began to open before an amplfied voice sounded "Please enter visitors. I sense the magic that once came from within this castle. I thought it was lost forever. Come on into the courtyard everyone and I'll explain everything in person."
Lilly looked at the group before she asked "So what should we do guys? This magic must be the digimental I found outside the castle but if it came from here then how did it get outside when only the digimon destined to possess a digimental can even so much as lift it normally?"
As for the one who opened the barrier it followed the group inside still keeping outta sight. Now was not the time to reveal themselves. If they acted too soon the power of the kingdom's princess would be in danger.

Rai blinked and raised his digivice hoping to get a read on what the loud voice was. Unfortunately nada; he'd have to be close enough to see them clearly first... but he felt it had been worth a shot.
"I say we stick together going forward. It could be important to your digimental. Besides, someone has been waiting a long time. It'd be kinda cruel not to give them the time of day... at least I think so..." said Rai, showing a surprising about of empathy for a potentially dangerous entity.
Y2K however was more interested in Shadow, wheeling around to place himself in the dark knight's way with a large hand extended outward, opening his mouth and tilting back like a muppet, "HELLO! I'm Y2K! Can we be friends!?"
Rai sighed and put a hand on his face with the heel of his palm over his eye and his fingers over his forehead. He didn't think now was the time... and he was wary of the dark knight... could he be a Mega? That move he used looked like no joke. Maybe Megas were even scarier than this... but he couldn't shake the feeling his little blue buddy could be a smear if ShadowDuramon wanted.

"Tch. If we must venture inside to solve this mystery, then so be it." Shadow said with a scoff, scanning the area to see if he could find the unknown source of the announcement. "However, be wary of your surroundings so that we don't get caught in a potential trap."
As he looked around, the dark knight noticed the attention that Rai and Y2K were giving him. Seeing the wariness in the other Tamer's eyes, Shadow turned his head to the side with a small grunt before reverting down to his ShadowZubamon form. "Hm, I doubt that I'm someone you'd want to be friends with, Keramon. I'm not as amicable as my individual halves are."
"Oookay, let's just get moving, then." Hana interrupted, moving between the ShadowDuramon and the Keramon. "Shadow, be nice. We talked about this."
"'If we needed 'nice', then I wouldn't be out here right now." Shadow fired back as the group marched into the desert ruins. However, he would end up acquiescing to Hana's attempt at defusing the situation by reverting himself down into his ShadowGrademon form. Still strong enough to defend Hana at a moment's notice, but hopefully it would help assuage Rai's fear of Y2K getting cut to ribbons or something. "There. That's the best that I will compromise, for now,"

Lilly looked over at Rai when he suggested they stick together before she said "I'm all down for sticking together as I don't know what it is but there is something about that voice that just screams suspicious. I am also getting the vibe that I am not the only one that is feeling uneasy here." When Y2K introduced himself she felt the excitement coming from the Keramon before she asked "Hey, Rai, is Y2K always this excited about meeting people? I personally don't mind but I was just curious is all."
Lilly took in what Shadow said before the young magician walked up to Hana and said "Is this normal for Shadow. I don't remember. While I agree with being cautious as none of us know what we'll be crossing paths with but we also have to remember not to attack without some sense of caution." Lilly then shook her head before she giggled and said "Wow I am starting to sound a lot like my dads. More so than my brothers. How crazy is that?"
Then after peaking cautiously into the hole Lilly stepped in before waving at the others to follow. Soon there was what looked like an empty pedestal. Lilly walked up to it as it felt as if there was faint magical energy that was coming off the digimental she found outside. Placing her hand on the pedestal she then said "How interesting. It seems this is where the digimental was originally kept. Makes me wonder how it got outside then seeing as there was a barrier surrounding the place." Looking up away from said pedestal some feet away was an enormous castle.

Y2K's antenna drooped when Shadow told him he didn't think they'd make good friends. He dangled his head backwards so the two extra eyes on the under side of his face combined with his now inverted smile to show a look of dismay. "Are you sure?"
Rai actually gave a faint smirk at Lily. "Is he always this excited about meeting people? Lady, Y2K loves two things; eating and making new friends-- and anyone new that isn't attacking might be a new friend. 'Hello!' is his favorite word of all time."
Of course to Y2K, anything made of data that wasn't alive might also be a new food.
As Rai listened to Lilly's concern, he sighed and prepared to move forward with the rest of the group. The voice did come across that way, but what were they supposed to do? One way was forward and the other way was turning their back on it.
Upon approaching the pedestal he walked around it once. "That's a good question... not just how, but why did it move? I don't think you can just grab these things and try to steal them... would it have ejected itself for some reason?" the stoic quizzed.
"Maybe it saw a friend outside and they wanted to play? Or maybe it was something tasty!" Y2K suggested as if a Digimental cared about these things. Either way it didn't address the issue of the barrier...

"Eeehhhh... He doesn't really like coming out if he has to, since he tends to have trouble restraining himself when he's angered or provoked. We're trying to work on it, but it's a slow process." Hana said while making a 'so-so' gesture after Lilly asked if this was normal for Shadow. "Just give him some space and don't antagonize him, and we should be good, though."
Meanwhile, Shadow was staring at Y2K as the Keramon floated upside down. Even when Rush was still a Keramon, stuff like this was weird to watch. Why do Keramon have so many extra eyes?
With a bit of willpower, the dark knight managed to turn his gaze away from the odd sight and focus on the important mystery of how the digimental Lilly found got outside the barrier. Shadow took a moment to examine the pedestal, before turning back towards the way the group came in. "Hmph, Digimentals don't usually work like that. Some digimentals can only be moved by their chosen user, whereas some can be moved by anyone, but not used by anyone other than the intended wielder. Although I have once seen a Digimental of Miracles move towards its chosen under its own power in a time of distress... Someone had to have moved the digimental outside on purpose, most likely to act as some sort of bait or lure..."
Shadow instantly tensed up as the gears clicked into place in his mind, quickly drawing his blades and scanning the room. "... which means we've probably just walked into a trap."

Lilly smiled at Rai and Y2K after Rai mentioned that his partner loved eating and making new friends. Then she nodded and said "Eating and making new friends are definitely somethings I can get behind. Having friends can be fun but so can eating with your friends. Maybe after all this we can go out eating someday."
Meanwhile, like Rai, Lilly began circling the perimeter of the pedestal as if trying to figure out what may of caused the digimental to move. "This is still not making sense. I can't sense anything that may have caused the digimental to move." Lilly said coming to a stop crossing her arms looking as if deep thought.
When Y2K suggested that maybe the digimental saw a friend outside and wanted to play or something tasty which caused Lilly to chuckle before she said "I'm not so sure about that, Y2K, but with digimentals all I know is they can be unpredictable by nature."
When Hana informed Lilly about the situation with Shadow and not to antagonize him Lilly nodded before she said "Got it. I'll try my best not to further upset Shadow."
"A lure..." Lilly muttered before outloud she said "But how and why would someone move a digimental outside of a magic barrier?" Then when Shadow tensed up it caused Lilly to do the same before he drew his blades looking around the courtyard before saying they probably walked into a trap. "I am getting that vibe too, Shadow, and I don't like this feeling one bit." the young Guilmon said looking visibly tense.
Then Lilly's ears wiggled as she heard hefty footsteps approaching before a Knightmon came out of the castle and into the courtyard. The energy rolling off of Knightmon was that of a champion level digimon instead of the typical ultimate level that Knightmon typically tended to be. Knightmon was carrying himself in a way that seemed to suggest he meant no harm as his sword wasn't even drawn from its hilt. Then Knightmon gently said "Take it easy everyone. I mean none of you any harm." The voice from the Knightmon was that of the one the group saw earlier before he looked at Lilly and continued "You have found the digimental outside the barrier. That was the magic I was referring to earlier. Please come inside the castle with me and over a meal I'll explain everything."

Rai couldn't easily tell the difference between an Ultimate or Champion level Knightmon, but it still wasn't what he was expecting to see.
It was a trustworthy looking type of Digimon, but Rai wasn't about to eat anything Knightmon or his master offered him so easily. Had the knight just been listening to their conversation? Was that why he was offering them a 'meal among friends'?
Well, all he'd said was he's tell them everything over a meal. Maybe it was just the most comfortable way for him to explain what exactly is going on here.
Or maybe the food will be poisoned and they'll wake up in the castle dungeon or worse. Was he too pessimistic? Maybe. Was he too suspicious? He didn't think so.
Y2K on the other hand enthusiastically accepted this offer. "You bet! Kekekehehe!" Y2K giggled seemingly ready to wander away from the group--or just assume they would move with him-- before Rai put his hand firmly on Y2K's head and pulled him over as if he were a helium filled balloon.
"Don't wander off on your own... I'd like to know what the others think of this offer." he said side eyeing his now impromptu compatriots.

At the sound of approaching footsteps, Shadow quickly drew his swords and pointed them at the Knightmon that made itself known to the group. The Knightmon's digital signature may have felt weaker than a Knightmon's normally should be, but the ShadowGrademon wasn't taking any chances. "Stay right over there, Knightmon. Try anything, and I can guarantee I can move much faster than you can."
Fortunately, it seemed that the Knightmon wasn't going to attack, even offering to explain the situation over a meal if they followed him. "Heh, do you think we're going to just trust you blindly, Knightmon? Follow you to who-knows-where and eat a meal containing who-knows-what? My constituent halves still remember the last time a supposed 'ally' stabbed us in the back while exploring some ruins, and this whole situation is giving us Deja vu. If you want to explain things so much, then why don't you do it right here, right now?"
Behind the dark knight, Hana leaned around Shadow so she could get a good look at the Knightmon. "Normally, I'd say that Shadow's being a bit paranoid, but in this case I think he has a point. We're gonna need a bit more than that if you want us to follow you."
However, Hana soon found herself distracted by Y2K's antics as Rai carried him like a balloon. "Aw, I remember when Rush used to act like that back when he was a Keramon. Keramon or Morphomon, he's still so adorable."
