There was a contrarian sort of confidence to hiding from others in a place like the Shibuya Terminal. Certainly, it was one of the busiest and most heavily trafficked areas of Tokyo; hundreds of not thousands of people traversed its public ways hourly. It would follow, then, that the station would be a very poor place to avoid scrutiny. It certainly did not seem like the sort of place to try poring over any mysterious technology that one might find on their person following a particularly unpleasant day at school, lest they attract unwanted attention from anyone who happened to pass by with a wandering eye.
All the same, there Alex sat, tucked away at a small table that flanked the entrance to one of the greater transit area's many little coffee shops. She was still dressed in her school uniform, though she had untucked the shirt and stowed away the tie; any attempt to make the garment a bit more feminine, even if only marginally so, was one well worth her temporary comfort. She occasionally reached for a small cappuccino with one hand, taking miniscule sips of the brewing beverage that lurked within. The other hand, however, remained wrapped around the strange device that seemed to have found its way into her schoolbag.
"It doesn't make any sense," she murmured to herself quietly. She was certain she had placed her phone in that exact pocket that morning. When she had gone to retrieve it after class, though, she had found this... Thing. a strange, oblong device with a pink exterior and light blue highlights.
Had someone slipped it into her bag? She glanced up and around the station, as if expecting to find the culprit then and there. There had to be an answer for this.

After school was usually the best time to be preparing to go towards another world, but...Sumire had found herself quite sleepy after the day had 'ended' for the most part. No folks at home so nobody'd really question where she was supposed to be. What didn't help was how populated the station always seemed to be at this time of day, and...
It was overwhelming. In the midst of the coffee shop that she had happened to find herself in? She heard a faint murmur of 'It doesn't make any sense'! Or...Something along those lines. "...What doesn't?" She near-immediately replied to...whoever said that. A quick glance-around revealed one of her classmates! Probably?
"A-Ah, sorry."

Alex’s plan to go unnoticed had not, apparently, accounted for a nosy classmate. “Oh!” She exclaimed, placing the strange device face up on the table as her gaze turned to focus on the newcomer. They were familiar somehow, but where…?
Ah, that was it. A classmate, finished with school for the day just as Alex was. She winced inwardly, reaching up to straighten her shirt collar in order to hide the hints of a more delicate undershirt that she wore beneath. She had grown too lax, she chastised inwardly.
“Forgive me!” She chirped, doing her best to keep her voice even. Oh, how she hated how her timbre had sank in recent years. “I - Erm. I just… someone swapped my phone for this weird thing.” She tapped the D-tector with a narrow index finger. “I don’t suppose you know what it is? I know I’m new, but I wasn’t expecting actual pranks, and my dad will get kind of mad if he finds out I lost my phone…”
Well, that was an understatement. Her dad would go mental.

Forgive? For what? They hadn't done anything! "You're fine, honest." Sumire made sure to clarify this before peering down towards Alex's...Digivice? Huh. "...Oh dear. Um." Shoot, how was she supposed to really approach this whole thing?
"I do, but only tangentially. My best friend's got one like that. I've got a similar one but..." She reached into her bag, resting faithfully at her side to pull out her Digivice iC out. It was a sicklier color than Alex's D-Tector, to be sure. But a different device. "I'm...really sorry if this sounds dubious at all but it's not a prank, something out there just -does- these things and it's kinda irritating, I lost my phone to it too. Especially after I almost got hit by a truck."
Without even daring to consider that this might be oversharing a bit, Sumi paused. "I'm Sumire--Hijikata Sumire. I don't think I ever caught your name, but things are...weird around Shibuya."

To Alex’s surprise, the other person - Hijikata Sumire, as she explained - produced a device similar to her ken. But then, perhaps ‘similar’ was generous. They shared a few characteristics, in that they both looked like vaguely dated handheld devices, and their color schemes seemed at least conceptually similar if vastly different in execution. Alex furrowed her brow, her sheepish nature forgotten for a moment. She reached towards Sumire’s device for a moment before pulling back, laying her hand flat upon the table instead.
“So what, some sort of viral marketing campaign?” She asked. “It doesn’t seem very effective if it is. I still have no idea what this thing is or where it came from. I can’t even get it to do anything at—“
The d-tector vibrated angrily upon the table, its screen flashing with myriad colors. “Your train departs soon. Find the terminal.” A voice, tinny and feminine and distorted with white noise, echoed from the device’s speaker. At the same time, a holographic image emerged from the screen - a compass of sorts, pointing towards a direction further into the station.
Alex stared blankly. “…I guess it’s broken,” she said, the bafflement clear in her voice. “The only thing over there is the old out-of-service terminal.”

While Luke had never been one for math, he was at least good with any kind of tech. It kinda came with the territory of a online persona.
He knew all about the latest technology that was popular today. From the latest HD Camera to the best Storage chips or drives that made for the best computers or laptops. Heck some of these items were on his buy list for the sake of recording better content for his account.
So, even a thick headed idiot like himself, found it very odd, that he could not recognize the device he was currently holding in his hands. The device was odd, to say the least. It didn't look like any device Luke had seen before. It was a bulky T shaped hand held game look alike. The body was a bright red, the band that surrounded the green screen was a grassy green color. Right below that band there is a small circular indent. On either side of this indent two buttons are located. These buttons were both black in color, finally at the top of the device was a strap with a clip, both of these items were black.
Luke had never remembered putting this thing in his pocket, let alone owing something like this. In fact that was the same pocket he had put his phone in. He had only realized he had it after returning home to change out of his school uniform and when he reached in his pants pocket he had pulled this device out rather then his phone. To make matters even weirder, he had put it down in order to finish changing into more casual clothing(a red muscle shirt, tan cargo pants and black athletics sandals). When he came back the device was beeping and the screen was lit up with an odd arrow pointing in a random direction. Having nothing better to do he ended up just following it. After all what was the harm in a little adventure right?
Which led him to his current situation. Walking down Shibuya Terminal, with the device in his hands, and aimlessly following the arrow. It was a miracle he hadn't ran into anyone or anything. Considering that he had all his attention glued to the little device in his hands. It was by chance that when he reached the station, more specifically the transit little coffee shop area, that he looked up from the beeping device. Stopping at the entrance of the area he looked around and his eyes immediately caught sight of the table near the entrance. More accurately the two devices that were in the possession of two young ladies, who were wearing the same school uniform. Focusing only on the devices he quickly made his way over, his athlete sandals making clap noses as he approached
Being a very social and out going person, Luke did not have a problem running up to strangers. Plus if these guys have their own weird device, even if they didn't look like his own. They might know what his weird device was. "HEY! you guys have weird devices too!" a teen chirped as he placed his hands on the table. "Do guys know what this thing is??" he asked(with out even introducing himself or asking who the ladies were. He really was never one to have much manners) as he lifted his right hand, leaving the D-Arc on the table, the arrow pointing to the out of order Terminal.

"I wish it was a viral campaign, I...ah. Like I said, it's a very complex issue that not even I have all the answers for..." The D-Tector's menacing vibrations, however...
That was unheard of for her. "Huh. Mine...sure as hell does not vibrate." Did Clay's? She never bothered to check...That train of thought was very quickly interrupted by another with another Digivice that...Okay, she didn't know what this one was.
"Nope." A very simple response, straight and to the point. "I ain't ever seen that one in my brief existence on this bitch of an Earth, friend. But. If hers is saying to go towards the Terminal..." Derelict as it may be...
"Come on. I feel like the best way to demonstrate what I mean when I say Shibuya's weird is to see for yourself." She told Alex...and by extension Luke. Yeah, he was getting conscripted into whatever this was, and Sumi was not about to give any sort of chance to say 'no, piss off.'
She sat up, swiped up her coffee that had definitely been there and not neglected this whole time, and set off towards the direction the D-Tector had pointed in.
