As the colorful lights from the tall mosaic window faded into inky blackness, Ayana bid goodbye to the last few stragglers before turning the small carved sign on the café door to "closed." “See ya next time, see ya next time! Don’t be a stranger now!”Yawning slightly, she wondered if she should pour herself a cup of coffee before heading to the wooden counter. But before Ayana could do anything, her phone began to vibrate, startling her with its sudden brightness in the dimly-lit café. There was nothing on the screen - no notifications, no messages, nothing - but then it shook again, this time violently enough to make Ayana's whole body shake. This was unusual behavior for her old, far-from-top-of-the-line phone. Ayana had never been up-to-date with technology, maybe it was a side effect from living in the countryside for so long. Before she could ponder this further, the phone started ringing, playing a bizarre out-of-tune melody that only added to her confusion. The phone skittered across the floor and ended up under one of the scrubbed wooden tables. "Huh? What the heck?" Ayana muttered to herself as she bent to retrieve it. To her surprise, across her phone screen was burning red text that read: "YOU ARE CHOSEN."
The words disappeared as quickly as they appeared, leaving Ayana to wonder if she had imagined it all. As Ayana turned away from the strange message on her phone until she can find time to take her phone to a repair shop. She decided to push it aside and focus on her work. She walked over to the coffee machine and began preparing a cup for herself, listening to the whir and hiss of the machine as it dispensed the warm, chocolate-colored liquid into a cup. The aroma filled the air, making her mouth water in anticipation. However, before Ayana could take a sip, she realized that there was still work to be done in the café. It was decorated in a whimsical, almost childlike way, with woolly carpets, beanbag chairs, and plush dolls adorning every corner. But, before she had a chance to make action to her thoughts. The phone lit up again, as bright as a street lamp, causing Ayana to close her eyes. Suddenly, the small café was empty, and the phone fell back to the table top, motionless. Ayana suddenly jolted awake, feeling a cold sensation running down her cheek. As she sat up, she realized that the coffee cup she had been holding was still in her hand, now filled with melted snow. She looked down and noticed that her legs were buried in deep snow. Confused and startled, she muttered to herself, "What the heck? How, what, who the..."
As she looked up, she saw an unusual creature staring back at her. It resembled a blob of snow that had taken on a humanoid shape, like a partially melted snowman. Its charcoal eyes conveyed a sense of concern, with a droplet of water forming at the end of its snout. Ayana was taken aback and jumped back, letting out a shriek. "Heyyyy!! Why did you your put ice snot on me? Huh?" She paused, realizing her rudeness and quickly apologized, "Oh, uh, sorry. I didn't mean to be rude to you. Wait a sec!"The little critter's eyes sparkled with frozen tears, and with some difficulty, it struggled away into the growing snowstorm and she was alone.

"Remind me again why we are flying through the Desolate Tundra to get to Snowflake Village again, Arlo?"
"Because ironically enough, this area is the only path right now that is not blocked by the massive snowstorm."
As is usual with these two, they were currently flying their traveling mobile bakery through the snowy and cold wasteland to get to their next destination. The airship itself resembled something of a two-story trailer home, but had the outer aesthetic of an airship from a fantasy video game. The first level housed the bakery itself plus the cockpit, while the upper level was a general living quarters for the two. Arlo the Angoramon was currently flying the ship while his friend, Luneth the Hackmon, sat in the passenger seat.
Both Luneth and Arlo knew how cold this area of the Digital World could get. Even with Luneth's fire power and Arlo's thick layers of fur, the two of them were well aware how bad of an idea it was to travel outside in these conditions. Hence why the cockpit was all nice and toasty thanks to the airship's heater. Still, even being in a nice toasty vehicle home didn't do much to help with the boredom of traveling through here to begin with. Sure, the area was pretty, but they had already seen all they needed to see for at least an hour at this point. All the bakery prep work was done, so all they could do for the moment is wait.
"Have you been to Snowflake Village before?" Luneth asked, trying to initiate some small talk.
"Once or twice," Arlo responded. "It isn't a place I tend to stay for long in, but it's worth visiting to see if we can get some business there, I'd imagine."
"Ah yes, because every snow-dwelling Digimon in one of the coldest towns in the entire world is just dying for some cannoli and fresh-baked bread."
"For all we know, they could be."
Just then, a blinding flash of light burst in the sky, causing Arlo to halt the airship immediately. Dumbfounded, the dragon and the bunny watched as a figure fell from the blinding light all the way into the snow below them. Neither one could fully tell what it looked like, but Luneth was sure that it was a human that fell into the Digital World. "Lower the airship, Arlo. We need to see if they are alright."
"Already on it," Arlo stated. He slowly lowered the airship closer and closer to the ground, slow enough to hopefully not startle whoever it was that had just fallen to the snow below them. It was then that Arlo could notice that a snowstorm was beginning to pick up... it would probably be best if they waited it out before attempting to fly again.
Once the airship was on the ground, Luneth would leave the airship and observe the surrounding area before he found the one that feel from the sky, who was definitely a human, all alone. He walked over to her and offered a paw to the girl. "Come with us, the airship behind me is heated. You don't look dressed for the cold at all."

Ryu wanted money. Mostly to buy games and get that awesome hoverboard he saw back in Terminus City. And right now, he and his Keramon, Daten were going to the Desolate Tundra to gather items for a weary Digimon blacksmith. It would be easy for them if only the blacksmith didn't leave out one detail.
The tundra has snow. Lots of it. And not even a warm jacket and puffy pants were enough to endure the cold for Ryu. It was especially dreadful for Daten as he sneezed out loud while desperately wrapping himself with his large hands.
"Are we there yet, Ryu?! This place is cold and sad!" Daten complained. "And the snow here doesn't taste like ice cream!"
While he was aware that the snow here was made of data that his Keramon could eat, Ryu couldn't help but to agree with his partner. "Dang, that Goblimon! He said it won't snow so bad at this time, but I don't think the Digital World doesn't follow the concept of seasons heeeerAAAARGGGHHH!!!"
Before long, the two found themselves in a flurry of snow as they were now trapped there with only Ryu's tufts of black hair and Daten's antenna sticking out like plants as the only indicators that they were there.
"I prefer winter in S-Shibuya better..." Ryu muttered in the snow before he took a deep breath. "Somebody help us!!!"
Despite his attempts to call for help, anyone nearby could only hear his muffled voice under the snow.

The strange, half-melted creature with a drippy nose vanished from sight, camouflaged by the beating snowstorm, before Ayana could say anything more. Cold had now engulfed her entire body, and she couldn't help but shiver as snow fell over her, making her teeth chatter and her body shake uncontrollably.
Suddenly, something dropped down beside her, pushing up a bank of snow as it landed. Ayana covered her eyes with an arm, trying to figure out what or who it was. "H-H-Hello? Is someone there?" she called, her voice fighting against the terrible deluge of snow.
A large, white something moved closer to Ayana, barely visible except for the bright red cloak around its neck. It held out a clawed paw to the girl and lifted her up as easily as if she was weightless.
"O-o-o-okay, s-s-sure!" Ayana said, shivering even more than before as she followed the creature towards the parked airship. She realized that she was still holding onto the mug of coffee that she had made earlier, although it had partly frozen into a brown coffee sludge. "T-t-thank you f-f-for coming to help me... Mr... uh?" She paused as she caught a full look at the creature that had rescued her.
It was reptilian in nature, or perhaps a dinosaur bathed in a long red cloak with bright blue eyes. "I-I can't say I expected..." Ayana paused mid-sentence to sneeze, a droplet appearing at the base of her nose. Slightly embarrassed, she wiped her nose with a flowery handkerchief from a pocket in her dress. "I didn't expect to see... well, th-h-his," Ayana admitted, craving the warmth of the airship.
"Oh, uh, sorry! I didn't introduce myself. That was rude of me, huh. My name is Ayana Takahashi. Nice to meet you, sir," she said, bowing her head several times, not wanting to seem rude.

Luneth was pretty much expecting the girl to be confused when she fully saw him, seeing as most humans coming to the Digital World tended to do so in a more dignified manner. The white dragon simply smiled at her when she was blanking on a name to call him, and introduced herself as Ayana Takahashi. "My name is Luneth," the Hackmon calmly said. "Most humans like you don't expect to meet creatures like me for the first time, so I am used to that sort of reaction."
To Luneth's surprise, this human girl wasn't the only one that seemed to need help. It wasn't long that he began to hear what sounded like a muffled a muffled voice to his right, as if it were calling for help. After he had helped her up, he turned towards the source of this sound to find what looked like black hair and antennae sticking out of the snow. The Hackmon walked over and used his claws to help dig the two out of the snow, who just so happened to be another human and a Keramon.
"Come along with us," Luneth told the two with a smile. "The airship inside is nice and warm, it'll help us all get through this snowstorm."
And just like that, Luneth and Arlo had three guests with them. Luneth had led the guests to the upper level, where the living quarters of the airship was. It was a fairly standard living room, nothing too out of the ordinary. A couple of the pictures featured a yellow kitsune-like Digimon alongside a thin yellow rabbit, both of them smiling at the camera. Arlo was in the kitchen at this time, making some hot cocoa for everyone. And yes, both humans and the Keramon had a full view of the giant fluffy bunny in the kitchen making drinks for everyone.
"This is my companion Arlo," Luneth explained to the three. "He is a gentle soul, so you do not need to be afraid of him." He said this part mostly to Ayana, as he had a feeling the other human was well-used to Digimon by this point.
So now that everyone was gathered in the living room, they were going to have to address the elephant within said room: Ayana herself. "Ayana, yes? I am assuming you were brought here against your will in quite an unorthodox manner, is that right? Would you be willing to recall the events that led up to your arrival?"

Just as Ryu was about to give up after yelling for almost about an hour, he and Daten found themselves yanked out of the snow and in front of the silver lizard-like dragon Digimon with a red scarf. This was a godsend for him, thinking he would have died by cold. "T-T-Thank...you..." He and Daten said to the Hackmon.
If Luneth took a closer look, the Keramon was not in great shape due to his tentacles almost frozen and his Tamer was chattering to his teeth.
Eventually, once they were in the bakeshop airship, Ryu and Daten didn't take long to feel relieved of the airship interior's warmth melting through the frozen limbs and tentacles as they sighed on the sofa they were sitting on.
"Thanks a lot, you two. You really saved us back there," Ryu said with genuine gratitude. "I wish the one who gave us this near-impossible request would do the same."
"I know. That Goblimon is a meanie!" Daten added. "Oh yeah! Hi, I'm Daten! Hello!"
"And I'm Ryu Yoshida. Sorry for being a burden like that from earlier."
As they waited for their hot choco, Ryu and Daten learned about the strange circumstances of the other human girl who was also invited into the Hackmon and the bunny Digimon's home. To Ryu, he noticed that she didn't have any Digimon with her and he guessed that the Hackmon and the bunny Digimon weren't hers by the time they met them.

Too much weirdness in one place, at one time, made Ayana's head hurt, and this was way over that limit. As a matter of fact, she was mostly glad to be as far away from that snowstorm as possible and happy to be warm again. She could just about feel her fingers again.
She took a seat in the living quarters, unsure if her legs would support her for much longer, before taking a look around and, most importantly, trying to take everything in. First of all, there was the lizard-like creature, dressed in a red cloak, resembling something from a monster movie, but in miniature.
Next to the larger, cream-colored creature beside him, described as a gentle soul, Ayana privately wondered otherwise, merely due to the sheer vastness of it. Then there were the other two who had also been pulled from the ice, clearly caught in the same snowstorm that she had been caught in.
A young boy with black hair and a friendly look about him was beside a larger monster, almost like calamari come to life with a navy blue body of tentacles and very long arms. All of these new faces had come to join Ayana in the living quarters, and for once in her life, she was almost speechless.
"Well..." Ayana said, opening her mouth, closing it, and then opening it again. "Well, I guess that will be an odd story, won't it? I was making myself a coffee... oh, I own a coffee shop in Shibuya. It was closing time, so it was just me, finishing off for the day. Then..."
At this point, she paused to replay what happened next in her mind's eye. "A weird message came up on my phone. Something about being chosen, I don't know. Then, whoosh. It was 'Antarctic Adventure in Monster Land' or wherever this is."
She was about to ask if any of that was normal but decided against it, looking out again over her four companions and deciding to herself. Assuming that if any of this was real, which Ayana was starting to doubt. She knew for sure that none of this was normal.
