As the sun began to set, and the remnants of dinner had just been cleaned up, Rush would sit down in the living room in order to watch some cartoons before he had to got to bed. However, when he turned on the television, he was greeted by an odd broadcast. Instead of the colorful show he was expecting, the screen only showed a dark room. Changing channels didn't help at all, as they all showed this same footage to Rush's confusion.
Little did Rush know that throughout Shibuya and the Digital World, screens of all kinds would be hijacked to show this same, mysterious broadcast. It didn't matter if they were televisions, computer monitors, phone screens, etc; if they belonged to someone who at least had any connection or access to the Digital World, they would show this same mysterious live feed of a dark room. Within the feed, a drum roll would start up right before a spotlight revealed the form of a heavily modified HiAndromon variant standing in the center of the room with a cane and top hat. The most prominent feature of this Digimon was the boxy television he had for a head. Showing a smiling, cartoony face on his screen, the individual would give the camera a friendly wink before he began addressing his audience. "Hello, boys and gals! Are you looking for a bit of adventure and entertainment to cap off your day? Then look no further as I present to you..."the HiAndromon winked at the camera as he began to tap dance, playful music playing in the background as his surroundings lit up to reveal a colorful game show set. The walls were painted red and gold, with four podiums set up for contestants (2 on each side of the room, with the HiAndromnon standing in the center). On the back wall, a large screen could be seen mounted to the wall, along with a set of 5 light-up stars arranged just beneath it. ."...the Game Night Extravaganza, hosted by me, the one and only Mr. Puzzles!" Mr. Puzzles finished, as he finished up his dance. He then promptly threw his cane offscreen, where various stock sound effects of objects crashing and a voice saying "My leg!" could be heard. As he spoke, Mr. Puzzles pointed up to the 5 stars hanging under the screen on the back wall. "Now, tonight is the debut of our pilot episode (being shown in real time, no less!), so feel free to visit our website, www.PuzzleTime.Com, at any time to rate us and leave your valuable feedback regarding tonight's episode!"

In Shibuya as the sun was going down a certain magical ninja Leomon X was making his way back towards the end of access point to the Digital World. The young champion level digimon was walking through Shibuya in his holosuit after staying in town longer than just for the school day given the current time of day. If only young LJ had any idea what potential chaos he was about to be caught up in as he began passing some shops with one of them having multiple televisions in the window. It was clear that was one of the products the store sold was TVs.
Just then the odd broadcast came forth on the TVs which were on but clearly airing other things with most being either commercials or sports. However, when the sight of the unknown HiAndromon variant caught LJ's attention to say the young Leomon X's attention snapped to the screen in puzzlement was an understatement. Yet it was as if LJ couldn't look away as the digimon who addressed himself as Mr. Puzzles mentioned how this was a pilot episode of some sort of gameshow. Just what was going on if this Mr. Puzzles had hijacked TVs in the Human World anyway? Unknown to LJ, the young digimon would find out soon enough.
Meanwhile in a village in the Digital World protecting its residents with a magical barrier an ancient Jijimon who was one of LJ's three grandparents and was named Theron was going about his business in his hut when the ancient mega sensed something was not right and that his eldest grandchild LJ would soon find himself in quite a bit of potential trouble. Walking across his hut the ancient digimon stopped in front of a curious magical artifact which its very purpose would be revealed soon enough as he suspected LJ may need some guidance.

Elsewhere in Shibuya, a teenage Chosen named Yuji Moriyama would be hanging out in his bedroom with his Tentomon partner Kazuo, the two of them also having finished up dinner and getting ready to watch night time anime. Things had thankfully been slow for them lately, since Yuji had just started his second year in high school and was mostly focusing on his studies... anime and video game nights not withstanding. However, tonight there was something that immediately felt off. There would usually be advertisements playing on the screen, or trailers for the upcoming anime episodes, but right now it was just a dark room being shown. "The hell?" Yuji muttered. He grabbed the remote and tried changing the channel, but every channel was just showing this one dark room. "What happened to all the channels?"
Before long, something began to happen on screen. A drum roll played just before a rather strange being appeared on screen, a robot-like being with a top hat and a TV for a head was standing in the center of the room. While Kazuo was still sitting on the bed and struggling to figure out why this was replacing the usual anime lineup, Yuji stood up from his head and watched on with a striking realization: this was a Digimon's doing. Specifically, the Digimon on the screen right now. The dark room's lights all went on at once, revealing some kind of colorful game show stage. The Digimon on screen introduced himself as Mr. Puzzles, and asked the viewers to rate the debut episode of this show on some weird website. Yuji went over to his computer to open up Discord, only to see Mr. Puzzles smiling at him from there as well. "My computer, too?" Yuji asked incredulously. He pulled up his phone and his D-Terminal, and they were all showing that same smiling robot dude with the cane and top hat. "This guy really wants people to see his show, huh?"
Yuji wasn't the only Chosen to be getting this transmission, either. Tamers like Kaya Matsui, Serena Isono, and Jacob Faulkner were all watching this program from their homes with confused expressions, all having their screens hacked so that communicating each other would be close to impossible. While most went along with the show in a confused manner, one group in particular knew that something much bigger was going on:The agents of AEGIS.
At AEGIS HQ, the game show had taken up every single screen. TVs, computer monitors, even the big monitors on the Operations floor. This interfered heavily with AEGIS's own systems, thus making it rather easy for high level Digimon to slip by undetected at the moment. Zero, an AppHackmon with hacking powers, was currently on the Operations floor working with the other agents to figure out where the source of this signal hijacking was and put an end to it all.
"Sooooo, have you figured out why all the TVs are playing this weird game show yet, Zero?" Speed asked. Speed was a Flamedramon variant with super speed powers, and he along with his purple twin brother Psych were watching over the AppHackmon has he typed away at his computer desk. "It's kinda freaking me out, not gonna lie."
"Nah, not yet, but it won't be long now. Whoever this Mr. Puzzles is, they'll pay for interrupting my gaming session! I was in the middle of a Final Fantasy XIV alliance raid, dammit!"
"I should have figured you were motivated by pure spite," Psych said as he rolled his eyes.

Post by Hotaru Inoue on May 16, 2024 19:09:12 GMT
It was a lively Saturday night at the Inoue household. Thankfully, Hotaru's parents decided not to question why their daughter, a high-school girl, was spending so much time with a bunch of girls that appeared to be grade or middle school age. Instead, Hotaru, some of her crew, and her younger brother had been spending the evening crowded around the television and that one N*ntendo console that shall not be named, for fear of lawsuits.
Hotaru, Matsuri, Sakura, Midori, Elly, Emmy, Miki, and Hotaru's younger brother had been playing rounds of a certain platform fighter party game. However, after his pride of being the best Sm*sh player in his friend group was shattered after getting repeatedly 3-stocked by a 7-year-old child, he left to sulk in his room, leaving Hotaru alone with her six disguised Digimon companions. However, one of the girl's patience was running thin!
"That's it, I've had enough!" Matsuri growled, nearly throwing her controller to the floor if it hadn't been attached to her wrist. "Our team keeps losing! And to Sakura's team! I only invited her because I wanted to beat her in a bunch of games, so if this keeps up, I'm gonna look like a big... dummyhead!"
"No, that fate's been sealed a long time ago," Sakura dryly retorted.
"I don't want to hear that from someone getting carried by Elly!" Matsuri shot back before turning towards her teammates. "Emmy! You have to stop running away and attack the opponents!"
"B-but that doesn't make any sense! S*ra-kun wouldn't want to fight any of these people! He'd want everyone to get along!"
"That's stupid, and so are you! Miki! You can switch your P*kemon mid-fight, so try using Ivys*ur and Ch*rizard!"
"But Squ*rtle-chan's so adorable!"
"It's not about cuteness... and also K*rby's way cuter! As for Hotaru... you just plain suck!"
"What the hell!? It's not me, it's... it's... this damned controller! It keeps... drifting and stuff!"
"You've been saying that since two controllers ago! You're just bad at games!" Matsuri countered. "We've got to get our act together, everyone! It's two versus four, and Sakura and Elly are mopping the floor with us!"
"B-but... I'm on their team too, s-so it's really three versus f-" Midori sheepishly butted in. To no avail.
"Elly! Sakura! We're not gonna lose to the two of you this time! Prepare yourselves!"
"Right..." Sakura responded half-heartedly, patting the dejected Midori on the head.
But there was a spark in Elly's eyes, and the little one clenched her fists in anticipation for a worthy challenge. They turned their heads to face the screen for one more game... only for the screen to go dark and some bizarre broadcast started playing. Hotaru did what she could, but she couldn't get the channel to change back to the game.
"Oh..." Elly remarked aloud, her hands dropping down to her side. Matsuri looked over to see the little one's face, relatively indifferent, save for a slightly more pronounced frown than usual. Matsuri let out a concerned gasp as she immediately put her hands on Elly's shoulders in support.
"It's okay, Elly! We'll make it go away so we can get back to the game!" She turned to Hotaru with fury in her eyes. "Hotaru! This weirdo made Elly cry! Give me your phone so I can call up the Scions and everyone we know and review bomb this stupid show!"
Hotaru was silent before nodding, pulling out her phone and sighing. "About that..." She handed the phone to Matsuri, but the same program was playing on the tiny screen!
"Ack!" Matsuri screeched before chucking Hotaru's phone out the window in shock. Hotaru gave the girl a glare as Matsuri weakly pointed at her archnemesis.
"Umm... Sakura did it?"

As countless viewers were surely voicing their confusion about what was going on with his broadcast, Mr. Puzzles let out a fake gasp as he took off his hat and held it against his chest. “Oh, dear! You’re all probably so confused about what's going on, aren’t you? Well, I suppose that’s on me! I got so caught up in introducing myself that I haven’t even explained the rules for tonight’s show!”
Mr. Puzzles quickly returned his hat to his head as he walked over to one of the four podiums and gave a little knock on it. “Tonight, we’re going to have four lucky contestants come onto our show and compete in a series of 5 fun games and challenges in order to win some very special prizes. Each round will have it’s own small prize, but whoever wins the most games will earn a chance to win a grand prize on our prize wheel!!”
As Mr. Puzzles mentioned the prize wheel, a pair of Monitamons could be seen rolling a large roulette wheel onto the set. Sure enough, each segment of the wheel was marked with a unique prize option including (but not limited to) 10 million yen, a brand-new car, a full-ride college scholarship, a lifetime supply of Burgamon burgers, and much more.
“And now, let’s meet our contestants, shall we?” Mr. Puzzles confidently asked, before his broadcast cut off into TV static. On four screens throughout Shibuya, Rush and three others would likely be startled by the sight of Mr. Puzzles’ arm reaching through the screen to pull them through the screen and into the static. Once they were fully pulled through, the static would cut back to the Game Night Extravaganza set, where the four kidnappees contestants now found themselves standing at each of the four podiums.
"Heeelloo, my lucky players! It's a pleasure to have you all here, so why don’t you introduce yourselves and tell us a bit about you?” Without missing a beat, Mr. Puzzles’s right hand retracted into his forearm and was replaced with a microphone that he extended towards Rush (who was on the farthest left podium). “Let’s start with you, little blue!”
“Umu… um, my name is Rush.” Rush shyly stated, his face blushing blue in embarrassment over being on live TV. “I’m 3 years old, and I love my mom!”
“Aww, now that’s just adorable!” Mr. Puzzles softly replied, gently patting Rush on the head with his left hand before moving on to the other contestants. Back at the Hoshidate household, Hana (who had just entered the room to let Rush know it was almost his bedtime) was left in shock as she just witnessed the Morphomon get kidnapped through a TV screen, entirely frozen for a moment before she ran out of the room.
"DAAATAAA!"

Unbeknownst to LJ the disguised Leomon X was about to find himself in potential trouble as he continued to watch the broadcast as Mr. Puzzles began to explain the rules of his game. LJ watched as Mr. Puzzles explained how there would be four contestants involved in five games with prizes at stake. When the mentioned wheel was brought out by a pair of Monitamon LJ leaned forward looking at the various prize options available. To say they were interesting was definitely an understatement.
However, things got more interesting than LJ was expecting as the broadcast cut off into static. That, however, was not all as LJ was startled by the sight of an arm reaching through the screen grabbing ahold of him his holosuit shutting down as he was pulled into the screen. Soon LJ found himself standing on a podium but that was not all as he was not in his normal form of a Leomon X dressed in ninja clothes but his rookie form of a purple furred Elecmon with red markings and brown eyes. Boy to say LJ was shocked was an understatement as he hadn't been in rookie form for quite some time seeing as like his dads, he preferred his champion form as well.
Then LJ noticed a familiar face on one of the podiums in the form of Rush who was introducing himself to Mr. Puzzles but the only thought that came to LJ's mind was where was Hana and Data if Rush was pulled through and were they alright? As Mr. Puzzles moved on to him LJ figured for now he would play along as he said, "My name is Lothar Junior, but I prefer to be called LJ for short."

Post by Yuji Moriyama and Kazuo on May 17, 2024 4:08:57 GMT
"So this Digimon decided to interrupt tonight's lineup just to show his new game show?" Yuji asked Kazuo as the two of them continued watching. In this time, the so-called "Mr. Puzzles" explained how tonight's game was going to work. Four contestants would come onto the show and compete in five different games for various prizes, some of which being small for completing only a handful of games, while the true prize goals were the kind of thing that'd entice anyone to sign up for a game show. A huge money prize, a new car, unlimited burgers, stuff like that. "Oooh, unlimited Burgamon burgers!" Kazuo cheered. "I haven't had one of those in a while... to win a whole lifetime supply of them..." A bit of drool could be seen coming down the Tentomon's mouth by this point as he thought of shoving all those burgers in his mouth. The bug did just have dinner, but he still had room in his gut for more food, especially tasty food like burgers.
"You Digimon and your stomachs," Yuji said with a laugh. He turned back to the television, since he'd be lying if he said he wasn't at least somewhat interested in what would happen next. "If I were there, though, I'd aim for the Yen prize or the college scholarship... buuuut I wouldn't say no to free burgers, either."
Right when Mr. Puzzles was about to introduce the contestants, the screen went into static. Confusion quickly turned into fright when Mr. Puzzles' arm grabbed onto Yuji tightly, dragging him into the TV static with it. "AH! LET- ME- GO! KAZUO! KAZUOOOOO!"
"YUYUUUUU!"
And that was all that Yuji heard of Kazuo's voice before he found himself... on the set of Mr. Puzzles' game show, standing behind a podium. To his left and right were three other very confused humans and Digimon who all looked like they had been dragged in against their will, as well. Yuji watched with confusion as Mr. Puzzles went to each contestant one by one to have them introduce themselves. Shit, shit, shit! Where's Kazuo? Who are these people? What's going on?!
Before he knew it, it was Yuji's turn to introduce himself. He looked up at Mr. Puzzles and his crazy-eyed face, and decided that getting himself kicked off the show by announcing he'd been kidnapped would earn him a one-way ticket to death. So he swallowed and played along, just like the others. "My name's Yuji Moriyama. I'm turning seventeen this July, and my partner is a Tentomon named Kazuo, who I hope is watching me right now and knows what to do."
"Guys, something weird is going on with the show right now."
Speed, Psych, and Zero stood still and watched as the show explained its rules. The robotic Digimon on screen explained how four contestants would compete in five mini games and win different prizes for doing well in said games. Then the screen went to static for a few moments before the picture came back, this time showing four contestants who looked rather confused and somewhat scared. They consisted of both humans and Digimon alike.
"Please don't tell me he didn't do what I think he did..." Speed muttered.
"There's no other explanation," Psych said. "He kidnapped all of those contestants; they're playing his games against their will."
"Not if I have anything to say about it," Zero said as he typed away at his computer. "I'll find where this Puzzles guy is streaming himself from and yoink the contestants out of there. He may have hacked the airwaves, but no one is as good of a hacker as I am!"
