Rayanne was browsing the shops at the mall until a new one caught her eye. "Kurama's Antique Shop... I guess I'll check it out," she murmured. A bell rang when she opened the door. There wasn't anyone at the cash register, but the sign said- wait. Rayanne checked the sign. Yup, they were open. Otherwise the door probably would've been locked. She surveyed the room. She could see various objects on shelves. Some had a strange symbol on them. The cash register sat on a glass case. In the case was what appeared to be virtual pets of various shapes, sizes, and colors, but oddly enough she didn't recognize any of them. A label on the case read "only one per customer."
"Oookay...." Rayanne muttered. The sound of the door leading into the back room opening caught Rayanne's attention. "Ah, welcome," an elderly, balding, white haired man stepped out and behind the glass case. "Did you find anything of interest?" he asked. "As matter of fact, I was wondering about the one per customer limit on these virtual pets," Rayanne answered. "Ah yes, I give them away to my customers as gifts. Since each is special, each customer only gets one," the old man explained. Rayanne scanned the case until one caught her eye. it's shape was similar to an egg. It had violet grips with a gold laurel embroidery. "I'll take that one," she stated as she indicated the aforementioned device.
The old man handed it to her and what appeared to be a personal terminal. "What's this for?" Rayanne asked. "That comes with the 'virtual pet,' but they can be replaced far easier," the old man answered. "Thanks. I'll probably come back later," Raynne replied.

The bell rang again as a young woman and a teen with glasses walked into the antique store. The woman's eyes scanned the collection of antiques though the store. The teen meanwhile didn't seem to care all that much about that, instead looking over at the girl and elderly man as they spook. While he couldn't understand what they were talking about, he did notice the curious devices that were in the girls hand.
Could those devices possibly be what he thinks they are?
((Sorry for the short post. I'm not exactly too sure how a DATS agent would react to a situation like this. So I decided to leave some ambiguity to why they were there.))

((Actually, I was kinda hoping for one.))
Rayanne put her new terminal in her bag and clipped the so called virtual pet to the strap of her bag. The old man caught the look the teen gave them. "Come back soon," he told Rayanne. Rayanne proceeded to walk out of the store. "May I help you?" the old man asked the newcomers. Perhaps they were DATS agents? Either way, it might be possible to interest them in his wears.
Rayanne walked through the mall looking for the closest wi-fi hotspot. She then came to a cafe. After ordering a latte, she sat at a booth. She took her laptop out of her bag and booted up. "Now lets see if I can't find anything on that virtual pet," she muttered. She then started an internet search. She was determined to find out what this virtual pet was called and how it worked. Perhaps she could give it to Nova if he ever returned. Soon she received the latte she ordered. She took another look at the handheld. Let's try purple grips, white base... she thought. With any luck, she should be able to find something.
......Who am I kidding? She won't find anything with a simple search.

As Megan looked through the store, she felt Kami tug onto her jacket to grab her attention. She turned to face him to only see the disguised turtle digimon pointing over at the girl. There she saw something quite familiar. She had just clipped onto her bag what looked much like a D-3. Did that mean this place was selling digivices?
With a few short hand gestures, Megan told Kami to keep an eye on the girl to make sure nothing happens. If she had a digivice, then that means that a digimon was sure to follow. Yet whether it's her partner, or someone much less friendly was going to be hard to tell. So it was better to be safe then sorry.
While Kami was reluctant to just leave Megan with this man who somehow gotten his hand on digivices, he nodded and obeyed her request. They should keep tabs on the girl just in case something happens. And with him being deaf, Megan was the only one capable of actually speaking to the man. Hopefully things don't end up getting violent.
Alone in the store with the man now, Megan turned over to the man with a small smile as he asked if he could help her. "Sorry about that. You know how teens can be. Rather hang out in an arcade then look at antiques." She told him as she rubbed the back of her head, "Anyways. If you don't mind me asking. What was that thing you just sold that girl?" She asked with feign curiosity. They have no clue whether the man was aware of what he was selling or not. So it believed it would be best to figure out what exactly he knew before saying anything about digimon to him.
Kami meanwhile entered the cafe shortly after Rayanne did. With some difficulty due to his deafness, he ordered himself a drink before taking a seat at the booth behind Rayanne. Positioning himself so that he could see what she was doing without raising to much attention, pulling a small pad of paper to write on just to help him act a bit more incognito. After all, most people don't exactly take kindly to finding out that someone's following them.
Is she trying to look up what her digivice is? Kami thought as he noticed her search quarry. It appears she has no idea what she just got from that antique store.

"Ah yes, kids these days. Too distracted by electronics to pay any attention to relics of the past," the old man agreed, eyeing the young woman skeptically. "I could say that I sold it to her, but then I would be lying. Actually I give away 'virtual pets' like the one I gave her, but those that I have in my possession are old enough to be considered antiques," he explained. While he was telling her that saying that he sold Rayanne the so called virtual pet would be inaccurate and a lie in the old man's case, he was also lying about what he gave her. While he suspected he was in the presence of someone who knew about Digimon, he wanted to see how long he could keep up the charade.
Rayanne muttered a swear under her breath in english as she held her forehead in her hand. This was harder than she thought. It was just a virtual pet, but why can't she find anything on it? It made little sense and continued to irritate her. She unclipped it from her bag and studied it. There weren't enough buttons on it for it to be anything else. Just as she was about to dismiss it as a practical joke, the screen lit up. The screen of her laptop went a blank white as well. Strange particles came out of the screen and formed a large white egg with yellow stripes.
Looking around, she didn't see anyone that seemed to notice the strange event. The only that seemed like he might've been watching was... the teenager from the store? She made a shushing gesture to him just be fore hiding it under the table and behind her feet. I have got to be dreaming, she thought when she turned to the screen of her laptop to see that it was back to the way it was before.

"Old enough to be antiques? They look pretty new to me." Megan commented as she looked over at the collection of devices he had on display. Did that mean he knew what they were then? Electronics like these wouldn't be called antiques otherwise. Though it is a clever excuse for why he is able to see them.
"If you don't mind me asking, where did you get them from anyways?" Megan decided to question. Chances was he was likely to avoid answering the question, but how he does would hopefully give her some insight on this man and who he is.
Kami watched carefully as the events unfold in front of his eyes. After she seemed to have messed with the device for a bit, a strange egg was forming from the laptop. So it seems it is a digivice after all, and her digimon has begun to form. The girl seemed notably shocked by this as she looked around her and hushed him, hiding her laptop in the process. Kami was a little frustrated by this, but there wasn't much he can do. At least she hasn't notice that he was keeping an eye on her yet. That could make things all that much more awkward.

The old man pondered an answer to the question. He could say he found them in an old abandoned warehouse, but that would make him seem like a thief. "Would you believe me if I said they were from another world?" he asked. If his suspicions were wrong and this girl didn't know anything about Digimon, he would be labeled a nut. On the other hand, he probably just blew his cover. "That reminds me, I should hope that she didn't try looking for it online at the cafe, otherwise I should expect she'll be back soon," he stated.
"Ah well, should be fine," he decided. After all, a Digimon would cause more of a ruckus than an egg, he reflected as he glanced at a more rectangular device.
Deciding work might get her mind off of what just happened, she decided to work on a project she needed to get done for her job. The job paid well, but she put a good chunk of the funds into programs for her laptop that allowed her to work from home if she was ever sick. after a few moments, she started to take another sip of her latte when she felt something nudge her leg. When she saw what it was, she almost did a spit take. It was some sort of white head with wings and a horn. She set her latte back on the table and slowly pushed it away.
Please let this be a dream, she thought, currently believing that her latte was causing her to hallucinate.

"From another world..." Megan quoted as she took in what the old man just said. She was honestly surprised that he was so willing to give her all this information. It made her wonder why though. He also seemed to be trying to distract by bringing up the girl, but that wasn't going to happen. She had fate that Kami could handle any situation that comes from that end. "So I take it that you know what exactly these devices are then?" She asked him with a cold glare in her eye. Something about this man just doesn't sit right with her. No one would just give out digivices for no reason.
While he couldn't see much of what was happening from his seat, he could see that she was shocked by something. Could the egg already be hatching? That would be pretty quick. Yet what else could it be? Should he try to help her? Tell her about the digital world, and it's inhabitants? She was bound to find out soon enough anyways. Making his decision, he stood up from his seat with the pad of paper and pen in hand. He then walked over to the seat the girl was at, writing something down on the pad before revealing what he wrote to the girl. Are you okay?

When she didn't exactly answer his question, his suspicions were confirmed. "So you are a Tamer then, aren't you?" he guessed. This time his voice sounded like it was coming from a young adult rather than an old man. "I'm actually a Digimon going by the name Kurama. The Digivices I give away are in need of new owners," he explained. "...I am going to have to ask you to play along when and if that lady comes back just so it's easier on her," he stated.
Rayanne eyed the teen as he wrote on the pad. "I'm fine, just working too hard I guess," she replied. Now that she mentioned it, she was feeling tired, probably from all the late hours since Nova and Salla went missing. Without looking, she reached down and touched the strange being sitting next to her. Nope, not even imagining it, she decided. "I think I'm just going to go home and rest," she yawned. And drop by that antique shop on my way out, she decided. She closed her laptop and placed it inside her bag before shooing the small creature inside.
Deciding it would help her stay awake until she got home, she grabbed her latte on her way out.

So this man is a digimon handing out digivices. She had a feeling that could be the case. Doesn't make this situation any less unusual. As far as she knew, no normal digimon is able to get their hands on a digivice, much less a collection like this. No doubt there were some reason behind it.
"Perhaps I am. On the matter at hand though. New owners? So these digivices had previous owners then?" She questioned the man. If these digivices did have previous owners, then that probably means... Then the question returns on how this man got the digivices. Did he scavenge them off their fallen owners? Could he have possibly been the one to kill their owners? Then why would he be handing them out? To get more prey? There's just to many answers unsolved about this. It could become that much worse if the girl decides to come back.
The girl replied to his question, unknowing that he wasn't able to hear what she's trying to say to him. So he had to rely on trying to read her lips. Which was never a good idea seeing how it was pretty ineffective way to understand people. It's was his fault though. He should of informed her that he was deaf instead of assuming that she would know that. Needs to remember that next.
Before he had a chance to inform her of this though, she had already began heading out. Kami moved to follow, but stopped when he noticed a waitress approaching him. He looked at her with some confusion before seeing the mocha he ordered.
"Sir. Don't forget the Mocha you order. I'm really sorry about the wait, but our machine was having some trouble." Although Kami was unable to understand what she said, he gave the woman a small nods as he accepted the drink. Yet by time he had finally left the store, he lost track of the girl.
That's not good. Kami thought as he looked around, Perhaps I should return to Megan to inform her to what happened.

Kurama nodded in reply. "I usually get them from those who've died in battle. In some cases I've had to clean or repair them. After all, nobody wants a Digivice that's covered with blood. I've been doing this my tamer passed on. I held on to the old codger's D3 until someone new came along. He was able to use it once it was in his hand and received a Digimon partner, but it wasn't until after I saw his selflessness that I decided to start doing this," he explained. He opened up his arms, gesturing out to the store as a whole. "Here I am a decade later, give or take a few years, using a holosuit of my Tamer's body and using his name to give out Digivices with their own stories to new owners This one..."
Kurama pulled out a black D3 and placed it on top of the glass case. "This one belonged to a tamer that showed promise, but her own misdeeds brought her to an early end by the hand of her own Digimon," he told her. He pulled out a D-Tector that was blue in color. "This one belonged to a Spirit Wielder that I fought alongside once and would gladly fight alongside a second time if given the chance. He disappeared and his Digivice turned up a year later with his Mercenary, who was badly injured at the time," he told her. He glanced over her shoulder to see Rayanne return through the window.
The bell chimed as before when she entered. "Back again so soon?" the old man greeted. "Yeah, I decided to take a closer look," Rayanne lied, looking at a shelf containing strange objects and unaware of the fake voice Kurama used.

Megan frowned as she looked at all the digivices on display. She knew the digiworld was dangerous, but this put it in a whole new perspective. It was no secret that people occassionally died in the digital world. So why did this feel so shocking to see. Perhaps she just kept it in the back of her mind. It isn't exactly something you want to think about when your traveling around having fun after all.
Megan's train of thought was quickly ended when she heard the bell chime. She turned around to see the girl from earlier walking in. It seemed she did come back after all. Yet why? And where was Kami for that matter?
Well that second question was soon answered as the bell chimed once again. Kami entered the shop, and was a little surprised to see the girl here. Great she probably is going to think he's been following her now. Which he might of been earlier, but this time he came here on his own accord. He had no idea that the girl would be here. Oh well...
Kami handed Megan the Mocha before signing to her. "The girl is a tamer now. I'm sure of it." He told his tamer through his hand gestures.
Megan took a weird look at the cup in her hand before looking over at the girl. She could guess that the store owner probably didn't appreciate that Kami just entered his store with a beverage in hand. Still. Kami did comfirm something that she was curious about. That it was possible for someone to obtain an old digivice, and become it's new owner. Yet could anyone do this, or was it possible that the digivice discerns whether the owner should own it or not?

Kurama should've felt relieved, but something didn't smell right. He took the lady that failed to introduce herself aside. "I think you'd better be ready, because I doubt I'm not the only one who has explaining to do soon," Kurama whispered in her ear. "I swore this place was an Antique Shop, not a Junk Shop," she teased, glancing at Kurama out of the corner of her eye. The shelf she was looking at contained objects that must've seemed like paperweights to her. "Are you finding everything okay?" Kurama asked as he walked over to Rayanne. She didn't appear to notice her Digimon fall out of her bag and begin flying around.
"Almost. It's about that little gadget you gave me earlier," she replied. I knew it. "Let me guess, a white ball thing with came out of whatever screen you were looking at?" Kurama guessed. Rayanne's jaw slackened. "How did you-" "I saw it fall out of your bag," Kurama told her, pointing at said white Digimon, who had landed on a shelf overhead. "Get down from there," Rayanne told the white Digimon as she reached up and grabbed him off the shelf. When she did this, she noticed he was holding an object with his mouth. "What's this?"
((I can't be bothered to count words right now due to technical difficulties.))

Megan and Kami watched the scene unfold in front of them. It seemed that her digimon wasn't exactly the most discipline one in the world. Leaving her bag, and started flying around. Kami looked out the door for a second, but no one seemed to notice what was going on. That was good. Trying to explain all this to everyone at the mall wasn't exactly something that Kami really wanted to do.
Eventually Rayanne seemed to have noticed the white digimon having left her bag to rest on a shelf, and picked him up. As she did so, an object become apparent in his mouth. "A digimental? So you have those in your store as well?" She asked the store owner. Did he possibly got those off of dead tamers as well? Probably not the best thing to ask at this time. Would cause to much of a shock to the new tamer whose probably having a tough time dealing with what's happening as it is. And that's something Megan knows from personal experience.

"Yeah, they usually pass as fancy paperweights, so on the occasion one actually sells, I get a lot of money for it," Kurama answered. Rayanne removed the so called Digimental from her Digimon's mouth and took a closer look at it. It was blue and oval shaped. It also had two lightning bolts sticking out the sides and a third sticking out the top. There was also a white symbol on the front. "Hm..." Rayanne looked up to see a frown plastered across Kurama's face. "What?" Rayanne asked. "I'm trying to figure out where else I've seen you," Kurama answered.
"Ah well, it'll come to me eventually. In the meantime, I suggest we move to the back room before the little guy does something that attracts attention," he told them. Rayanne nodded in agreement. Together, they walked to the door which was conveniently labeled "Employees only." "I think she might need your help," Kurama told the young woman. He proceeded to open the door and allowed Rayanne inside. The back room was like what you'd expect, being full of boxes and shelves. The wardrobe was the only thing that seemed out of place as it seemed relatively new and was in the middle of the room.
