Elliot let out a soft groan as he returned to consciousness. He cautiously put down a hand to help himself up, only to recoil as he felt dead grass crumble beneath his fingers. In a panic he scooted back, wide-eyed and trying to get a sense of his surrounding area.
It felt like a second ago, the boy was standing at the base of the Shibuya River while fighting off an overwhelming sense of nausea. Then he was falling. And falling. And falling still. His consciousness gave way long before he had landed, and what he was seeing now definitely wasn't the river. It was a large expanse of endless grass, which would have looked way more serene if not for the heavy scarring around it. Many parts of the plain were discolored, either a dead yellow or a charred black. Great gashes in the earth kicked up dirt, as if a great beast had left old, unhealed scars all over the plain. What few pieces of untouched grass did remain looked almost perfectly symmetrical, islands of peace in this sea of destruction. Maybe at one time these surroundings would have looked serene. Today, they looked like a warzone.
He unhooked his backpack and held it close, as if it were some sort of security blanket. This was new, and scary, and dangerous. He didn't want to move or even make a peep, as if in fear of whatever caused this coming after him next. He just wanted his brother to get here. Isaac was the brave one. Isaac was the sensible one. Isaac would know what to do, right? It wasn't like the two could've been separated so far in such a short time, right? He looked to the horizon hopefully, backpack clutched ever closer.
But nobody came.
He knew this wasn't working. He put his backpack down and reached into it with shaky hands, pulling out his walking stick. One hand put the walking stick to the ground, while the other remained on the backpack to serve as a brace. Slowly he shuddered to his feet, slinging the backpack back on his shoulder afterwards. What could he do now?
There was only really one option: walk. With hesitant steps he began trekking through the plain, figuring he'd go north until he found a landmark. Each step was slow and cautious, Elliot finding all sorts of cracks, holes, and snags in the earth that would trip him up if he wasn't careful. Despite all of this, however, he kept pressing on. Japan didn't seem too big, and there were lots of people. Surely he'd have to find something that wasn't endless, war-torn grass before long, right?

Okay, take two, Tomomi thought to himself as he crossed into the Network Plains. The newly formed wasteland seemed almost darker than it was the day before, Tomomi's first day in the Digital World. Hopefully, Demimeramon won't go crazy fighting the first Digimon he sees. Takahiro won't be there to save them.
Walking through the plains, Tomi sees a figure in the distance, but some field of dirt is blocking his view. Demimeramon quickly gets excited, "If it's a Digimon, I want to fight it!!" Tomi gives an incredibly disapproving look. "Of course, not until we are sure the Digimon is bad...hehe."
It was surprising how easily the pair caught up with what they now saw as a young boy. Tomi paid quick attention that the boy was off-balanced, and saw him using the cane. Demimeramon, in his usual charm, hovers up to the boy and circles around him, "Hey, why are you using that thing? And where's your Digimon?"
"Calm down there, Kami. He doesn't even know you, how can you expect him to answer either one of those questions?" Tomi says sternly as he catches up to the pair. "Please don't mind him, he's new to the whole pleasantries system. My name is Tomomi Nakamura. You can call me Tomi. This is my partner, Kami. He's a Demimeramon. Are you a Tamer by any chance? Regardless, it's dangerous for a human to be out here alone!"
Tomi speaks with such confidence as he's been spending years in the Digital World. Heck, he shouldn't be out there with a baby Digimon to begin with. His need for exploration got the best of him and he went right back to Shibuya station no more than a few hours after getting to Takahiro's home.

"S-Stop...!" Paige whined, a bit futilely. Now that her other Digimon had also digivolved into In-Training, Nyaromon had become a huge headache, and Paige wasn't quite sure how to handle her. Case in point? Right now she was rushing across the plains they had just come across, the plains that looked like they'd seen SOME sort of battle. And why was she doing this?
"Can't stop now! This sorta thing means a Digimon's gotta be nearby, and I wanna have some fun!" the Digimon responded, letting out a laugh as she bounced along. Paige stifled a groan and kept chasing after her, though she could feel herself growing winded as the chase went on.
"She sure does have a lot of energy..." her other Digimon commented with a sigh as she fluttered alongside Paige. The little girl almost wished she had wings before focusing her attention back on Nyaromon...just in time to notice she was heading right towards something. Or rather, somethings; a group of people in the distance!
"Hey, Nyaromon, come on! You don't want me to make a bad impression 'cause you're so hyper, d-do you? And besides, I'm getting t-tired." in fact, the young girl had stopped running to catch her breath. At that, the cat-like Digimon paused, indecision on her face before she sighed and hopped back over to her Tamer.
"Sorry Paige..." she spoke up once she was near. In response, she merely got a smile and a shake of the head.
"Don't worry...it's fine. Let's just go say hi," she suggested, and with that, the trio made their way forward. The group gathered was soon within earshot, and Paige noted that one of the boys was again near her age. Wow! She hadn't expected to meet so many young people. She'd gotten the impression most tamers were a lot older than she was, based on Shi and Kai.
And the other boy...he wasn't much older either, was he? "Uhm...hello to all of you!" she called out, still approaching them with her Digimon on either side. "What're you doin' out here...?" she questioned. Though, really, that could be asked of her too now, she realized.

Jin woke up , his head hurts from the fall . He then stood up and looked over at his surroundings , it was darker than the the shibuya river that he was at not so long ago . Jin tries to remember what happened , the last thing he remembers is being cycling around the river , after a successful practices session . As he was cycling Jin thought about it , the upcoming tournament that is important for the whole team , lost in thought he did not notice the child who was in front of his path .
Jin then suddenly sees the kid in front of him , as he tries to stop before hitting the kid a nail hits his tire and makes him fall of the river with his bike . After he hit the river , he lost conscious . And that's all he remembers it , he walked around to see where he is , all he sees is destruction and darkness . He then sees his bag and the bike he was riding . The bike was in a bad shape , he cant use it anymore , luckily the bat in his bag is still usable , he then takes the bike for protection sake .
As he continues to walk around with his bat at his side , Jin sees a group of people , none of them seem to be older than him , He quickly notices some bizarre creatures , who for some reason he assumed to be animals . "Hey there !! " he calls for them from a distance , "Boy am I glad to find another people here ." he said to himself as he was relived to see that he is not alone .

There were many ways to have a first introduction to the Digital World. Some people found an egg, and then had a tiny pink blob sing their praises and eagerly talk about their friendship. Some people fell right into the arms of new friends and new adventures. Elliot found a fireball hurtling right towards his face, as if he made a wrong turn at Bowser's Castle and was about to pay the price for it. In a panic he ducked as it zoomed toward him, squeezing his eyes shut and waiting for the pain. Thankfully, he found himself rather un-incinerated. Slowly he cracked an eye open, looking up and noticing the fireball cheerfully orbiting around him. Also, it had a face.
What?
It seemed like it was talking, rather cheerfully so in fact. The words it was using were rather simple, so Elliot didn't have too much trouble understanding, but there was one phrase he didn't get at all: Digimon. He looked around, confused, as if hoping the answer to his questions would come running up the horizon.
Thankfully, they did. Another, slightly older boy ran up, admonishing Jerry the Happy Fireball as if the two knew each other. His words were more eloquent than the fireball's, and there were a few he didn't understand too well, but he said them with such authority that Elliot was inclined to trust him. The phrases Elliot could understand were really confusing, too. Where was he? What did he mean by Tamer? Why was this place so dangerous? Where was Isaac?
"Thank you. I-"
He started to answer, only to see a girl around his age run up. A tiny angel and a bouncing cat head were by her side, making Elliot increasingly sure that he must have smashed his head up pretty awfully during the fall. She called out to the two, Elliot thankfully finding her rather easy to understand too. While he was still highly confused, being around a lot of people at his age was at least helping calm him down a bit.
"I am not sure," he admitted, answering both of their questions at once in shaky Japanese. "Where is 'here?' Is Shibuya close? What are Digimon?" Eventually, though, the worry in his eyes gave way to a creative spark. He perked up as he began rooting around in his backpack, looking for his phone. "Have you seen my brother? I will show you-" he said as he dug, pulling it out with his flourish. Then his face fell.
Instead of his phone, he had pulled out a strange, white and gold device. Was it a pedometer of some sort? He looked around his backpack again, absolutely confused, before turning to everyone with a pleading look on his face.
Another person called out in the distance, older sounding. Kids Elliot was okay with. Strange adults in a strange place? That was a bit worrying. He hushed up, wondering if some of the others would be able to handle this better than he would.
~~~~
Elsewhere, Isaac laid in the soft grass, letting out a weak moan. After futilely searching for his brother, he had made the wonderful decision to dive right into the river and look for him. Now he was paying the price for his actions, covered in filth and sore all over. He squinted as the sun bore down directly on his eyes, not a single building in sight to provide some well-needed shade. Wherever the hell he was now, it wasn't Shibuya. Shibuyua wasn't nearly this green, or this quiet. Or this filled with crazy tank-dragons.
The boy's eye immediately caught the weird vehicle-like beast. Its skin looked like it was naturally camouflage patterned, and it had a perpetual maniacal grin as it tore across the plain. Occasionally it stopped, checked its surroundings, and fired a missile out of its face-cannon at the grass. Upon the smoke clearing, it let out a grunt of frustration and began driving elsewhere. Whatever the heck it was, it looked awesome.
Less awesome was the feeling of a foot pressed against his back. The boy wheezed as he suddenly felt the pressure, looking over his shoulder and noticing the barrel of a gun pressed against his head. "Boss! We got us another 'umie!" a voice cried out. Isaac felt hot breath against his other shoulder, a dinosaur-like muzzle barely visible in his periphery. It sniffed inquisitively, then added "I think this'un's still fresh, too!" The tank beast turned to face Isaac, cackling madly as it drove forward.
Isaac had a bad feeling about this.
Seeing the confusion in Elliot's face, Tomomi attempted to clarify. "Digimon are...well...from what Kami tells me, data turned into beings, based on things human's create. This is the Digital World, the realm where they come from. And...Shibuya is a little ways from here. Didn't you take the train?" Tomomi didn't want to make the boy nervous, but still...Shibuya is another world away.
Tomomi examined Paige as if she was a Digimon herself. She was the first girl that he encountered in the Digital World, he just found it slightly odd. Even more curious, she had two Digimon with her. It seems there are no rules to this Digimon business. Tomomi bows to Paige, "Hello! I'm Tomomi Nakamura...Are those both of your Digimon?"
Tomomi turned to Elliot, who seemed a little at odds when opening his bag. He knew the answer to this! The second day in Digiland, and he felt as if he was the expert in the group. (Far from it.) "Well, that answers that question! You're a Tamer and that is your digivice! Welcome to the crew!" He says enthusiastically. His happiness dwindled to caution as he saw the boy walking towards them with a bat. "Kami, keep an eye on that."
Demimeramon perked up and saw the older teen with a bat. He wanted to attack, but Tomomi specifically said to just watch him. So he looked on, ready to jump into battle if that was indeed a threatening person. Anything to keep Tomomi safe. "Right." He simply replied.
That was...just a bit worrying, to say the least. Paige eyed the boy in the distance, a slight frown on her face. Mostly because of the bat, though. Granted...this was the Digital World, and from what she had been told, it was dangerous, so she could understand it, after a little thought. Still...she had to respond to the others, didn't she?
"Uhm...keep an eye on him too, you tw-" she cut herself off and paused when she noticed Nyaromon and Cupimon were already doing exactly that. With a slight smile, glad her twins were so on point about this, she looked back to the other two. "Ah...right. It's like he said," she began, her own Japanese clearly not that fantastic either. "This is a whole other world, the Digital World, and Digimon come here. I didn't know they were based on stuff humans made though..." she admitted. It did make some sense, though.
After all, Nyaromon was clearly modeled after a cat, and Cupimon after an angel. It should have been obvious, after some thought, but she had never thought of it. "As for that," she looked to the Digivice. "It's called a Digivice! It lets your Digimon grow bigger and stronger and..." she trailed off, blinking, before glancing around. "...Don't you have a Digimon? Or some sorta egg?" she asked, a little confused.
"Anyway...right, introductions! I almost forgot...how rude of me," she flushed, looking between the both of them. "My name is Paige Mikuni, and yes, these two are both my Digimon! They're Nyaromon and Cupimon," she introduced herself with a bow, before turning her full attention back to the older boy with the bat. She hesitated before sighing. "It'd be...rude to not answer him. And besides, it's not right to be so distrustful," she spoke to the other two to explain what she did next.
"Hello!" she called out back to the boy with the bat, giving him a bright smile and friendly wave.
Jin smiles as he sees some one greeting him , he then got a closer look at what he thought were animals , he was shocked at their looks , one of them was a straight up fireball with eyes and mouth . He then notices everyone looking at him , as if they are not comfortable seeing him , he wondered why . Then he looked at what he is holding it was a baseball bat , it can be a deadly weapon but he only brought it with him for protection purposes . " Wait ! , I only brought this with me for protection sake , I was cycling near the river before crashing and falling down here , I swear I mean no harm " Jin tried to clear things out , I mean none of them were older than him , of course they would be scared if they saw some older stranger with a bat . " I was returning from the baseball practice and took it with me . " he laughed an awkward laugh as he rubbed the back of his head .
he then remembered what he wanted to ask from them , "what even is this place , and how far it is from shibuya " he asked , as he was mostly intrigued with the place rather than be afraid and lost. it was like finding secret hideouts, he would like to know if there is more to this place other than the ruins that is in front of his eyes .
"Train?" the boy asked, the confusion in his voice palpable. He would've sworn a train would be a part of the journey he'd remember. "No, no. I fell." Would it even be accurate to say that the Shibuya River was where he fell? Wherever he was, it definitely wasn't the bottom of a landfill. It seemed the boy tried to spare him the reality of that fact, while the girl was much more upfront about it. He paled in shock as the revelation of being trapped in another world began to dawn on him. Thankfully, the situation didn't seem entirely awful. If there was a train to take you to this Digital World, there had to be a train that would take you back. All he'd have to do is find the train, go home, find his brother, and laugh all of this off like some sort of bad dream. Easy.
Okay, it definitely wasn't easy. However, Elliot desperately needed this little bit of hope to cling onto.
Apparently, his phone had turned into something called a Digivice. He wasn't sure what it was, but the others did a good enough job at describing what it did. Tomomi said it made him part of The Crew, and briefly this moment of acceptance helped ease Elliot's worries. Paige seemed more confused as to where his own Digimon was, a confusion that at the moment Elliot shared. He pocketed his Digivice and began rooting through his backpack again, as if one would just kind of appear out of nowhere. Unfortunately, it was just the usual possessions he carried around. He frowned in disappointment. In a way it was funny; even though he was so confused and scared about landing in this new world, this cosmic exclusion just disappointed him. He sighed and took out his Digivice, as if looking for answers, but it only beeped once. "I do not have one," he finally concluded.
"My name is Elliot Sunderland," he added, finally introducing himself to these new friends now that some of his worries were sated. "It is very nice to meet you."
His eyes lit up when he heard the teenager's explanation of events. "Me too!" he blurted, barely able to contain his excitement. He wasn't alone in this! If there were others who stumbled upon the same sort of accident, maybe it'd make finding his way home all the easier. Unfortunately, it made answering the man's questions a lot harder when he knew almost nothing of what was going on. "I do not know where we are, but it is not Shibuya. We are very far."
~~~~
The two dinosaur figured helped Isaac up. They were dark blue in color, about a head shorter than the boy and clad in heavy combat armor. Most concerning of all, of course, was the fact that they were still holding him at gunpoint to make sure he wouldn't bolt. Their boss was around the size of a small go-kart, but his maniacal grin was even more fearsome up close. The tank he was sitting in had what looked like a metal face on it, the tooth to the far right chipped and broken in half. "Oi, boyz! What's this 'umie got on 'im?" he shouted, looking Isaac up and down.
The two dinosaurs began rooting through Isaac's pocket and backpack. One of them snatched his wallet, rooted through it, and let out a laugh when he saw there weren't any Bits inside. "Nothin' but paper!" he called out derisively before resuming his search. The other grabbed Isaac's Monster Manual and began rooting through it, occasionally shaking his head. "Now these're some ugly Digimon," he muttered as he read. Eventually, however, one of the dinosaurs pulled out a red-and-purple Digivice, letting out a roar of triumph. "Boom! Got 'is beepy thing! Maybe it tells us where the loot's at."
The tank-beast let out a laugh of triumph, wildly firing his hand-mounted machine guns into the air. "Ha! Ol' Kraktoof's not gonna need no stinkin' map now!" he cheered. One of the dinosaurs pulled out a piece of paper and crumpled it up gleefully. It seemed like a flat, green piece of paper with an X haphazardly drawn in on it. No wonder these guys were having no luck. Ol' Kraktoof turned to Isaac, looking him up and down. "Boyz, get 'im a shovel!" he demanded, the dinosaurs opening a trunklike hatch on Kraktoof's back and producing a shovel from it. They tossed it to Isaac, who shot a heavily irritated glare as he picked it up.
"We got one rule for you, 'umie," the tank said. "You get lootin', or we get shootin', okay? Now go!" The dinosaurs hopped onto the tank's back, one to the left and one to the right, as they tossed Isaac his Digivice back. They motioned for him to lead the way, eyes and weapons trained on him.
When that's the case, what else could you do but walk?

Tomomi relaxes after the teen rationalizes his story and Elliot's match up. Okay, maybe he wasn't a threat. But in the Digital World it doesn't hurt to be careful. "Greetings, I'm Tomomi Nakamura," he bows, "I'm sorry. Seeing anything with a weapon puts me on edge these days."
Tomomi looks around the conversation, and decides the best policy is to listen. After all, this is only his second day in the Digital World...they seem to know as much as he does. What he does know is Elliot is looking for someone. He kneels next to Elliot, "Elliot, do you think it's possible your brother is in the Digital World?" If they were together and somehow teleported here, there is no certainty that his brother remained in Shibuya.
Looking at Paige, and her partners. "Paige, you have twins? That's really great." Tomomi smiles.
He then realizes what Paige says to Elliot, and everything starts to make sense. He's probably like Scout, but don't make any assumptions Tomomi.

This was a bit of a tricky situation, wasn't it? One of her first outings out by herself, and she had ran into THREE other people...two of which seemed to be completely new at this whole thing. Not that she'd been at it for a while herself, but i was clear she had more experience than either of them at this. The other boy, though, seemed to have a bit of experience too.
"Hmm..." she glanced between their little group before coming to a decision. "I think...the best thing to do right now would be to head back to the city! I mean, there're trains there that could take you both back..." she trailed off for a moment as Tomomi spoke up. Oh, right. How could she have forgotten about that? If he'd mentioned his brother, no doubt he had to have been around when Elliot fell into the Digital World.
"But Tomomi probably has a point...if your brother's around here, we probably should look for him too," she admitted, frowning a little as she glanced around. Of course, he was nowhere in sight...and how would you even begin looking for one person in this place, anyway? The Digital World was massive. She decided to not focus on those worries too much for right now, and instead glanced to the older one of the group.
"You're in the Digital World. It's uhm...well, a different world from the real one, with all sorts of different creatures. It's...not really anywhere near Shibuya." Paige told him, figuring she might as well answer his question while they figured out what to do.

Jin then smiles, a little embarrassed about earlier , "Nice to meet you Tomomi , I am Jin Date , nice to meet you all. " jin introduces himself bowing down a little as a show of respect . "it's okay , it's my fault for walking around with a weapon " he then hears something about a brother , "hey, Elliot is it ? have you lost your brother on the way here ?" he then looked at the young girl who has answered his question , well sort of. "Digital world ? different from the real world ? " that did not make any sense .
Jin shook his head , that is too much information to have so suddenly , first he apparently went to a different world via falling down the river , then he finds out that there are others who look like they have knowledge about this world and they look younger than him , and then there was those weird creatures that he did not even want to know what they are . he then looked around to see the fire ball with a face still around , it gave him an uneasy feeling so he stayed away from it .
Jin then decided to look inside of his pocket to find something that might help , he then finds a weird device that he thought was a phone , it was grey and had a little fiery mark "hey guys , what is this ?" he was surprised at the look of the device , maybe it is of importance .

Elliot nodded his head worriedly at Jin's question. "We were both at the river when I started to fall," he explained. "I do not know if he is still there or if he tried to find me. I do not even know if he could have followed me. But if he tried to look for me he might be here too, and I can not just leave him.
It is a lot to ask, but could you please help?"
The boy was straining his meager understanding of Japanese, and sometimes had to dip in and out of English to find what he was looking for, but the idea of his brother also being lost in a completely different world frankly terrified him. As much as he hated to impose, he knew something had to be done quickly.
That's when he heard the first boom. He stumbled back in surprise slightly as he looked over the horizon, a black cloud of smoke rising up from the west. "What was that?" he blurted in a panic, slipping right back into image as he watched the cloud of smoke rise. As it began to thin, he could have sworn he saw a few figures visible in the cloud.
~~~~
Isaac stared at the latest blast from Kraktoof, dragging his shovel behind him. "Oi!" the tank blurted, pointing towards the resulting mini-crater. "What's with the 'old-up? Get diggin'!" While the boy questioned this highly-reasonable method of shooting explosives at the locations of prospective treasures, he sure as heck wasn't about to question his heavily-armed captors. With a heave he stuck the shovel into the ashen ground and began sweeping it away.
"How long am I supposed to dig for?" he asked, the gun-toting dragons taking aim at him before being shushed by their tank boss. It grinned wildly before moving to speak again.
"Rock bottom!"
He tried his hardest not to let the tank see him rolling his eyes as he got back to work, occasionally coughing as wind blew the smoke from Kraktoof's munitions blew right back into his face.
Tomomi smiles politely, "Don't you worry, Elliot. We'll find your brother." He motioned to Paige, "How far can your digimon digivolve?" He knew that if he was going on a search and rescue, they needed to be well equipped. By the looks of things, Paige looked like the only one who has a clue what was going on.
Tomomi heard the sound of the blast. Everything in his bones told him to run, but he had to help. For all he knew little Elliot's brother was there! He looked at Demimeramon, "Time to digivolve, Kami." Tomomi's D-3 glowed as in a circle of light, Demimeramon changed form.
"Demimeramon Digivolve to...Candlemon!"
Candlemon looked towards the smoke, "Tomi, That's definitely a digimon. Are we going to check it out?" Tomomi smiled, "It seems so. We'll have to see if Elliot's brother is there." Tomomi turned to Elliot and Jin, "I know this is super short notice, but you're going to need to learn how to spirit evolve. Your D-Scanner hopefully has a totem inside of it, that is the spirit of an ancient digimon that you will become. This is probably overwhelming, I know, but if Elliot's brother is over there we may need to save him."
He looks around at the group, "Are you ready to go?"
"Ah...is English easier for you, too?" Paige spoke to Elliot in English with a giggle, a smile on her face. "I should've guessed that, considering your name," the girl added just a moment later, still in English. It'd be easier to talk to him this way, rather than trying to understand him from him mixing Japanese and English together like he had been.
That tended to just sort of...butcher what you were trying to say. Paige ought to know, given she had done that when she was just starting to figure out how to speak Japanese herself.
"Anyway! My Digimon...can only sorta go as far as you see now," she admitted with a slight blush, just a bit embarrassed. She was sure that any day now they'd get bigger, but..not yet. "An-" whatever else she was going to say was cut off by the sound of a boom. That actually caused the girl jump back and let out what could probably be called a squeak as she turned her gaze in the direction she heard the boom. "W..what?" she mumbled, a bit surprised.
"It's a Digimon...we can both tell." Cupimon commented, her and Nyaromon standing side by side as they eyed the cloud.
"If it's a Digimon...then the only thing to do is go beat it up! It's rude to go doing that sort of stuff out of nowhere!" Nyaromon bristled and, just like that, she began hopping along in the direction the boom had come from; an exasperated Cupimon quickly followed after her, flashing Paige an apologetic look.
"A...Ah geez. I think my Digimon just decided for us." she tried her best to hide how embarrassed she was as she rushed to chase after the pair.
