Maia watched the explanation of Digimon names. It made sense, but she'd have a hard time using it in a conversation where other participants didn't understand the nicknames. Luckily, Megan and Kami were still the first people that she had met around here capable of signing in ASL. Or, was that really lucky? It would be nice to be able to communicate in the unspoken language with others. "That works for me, too. Better than spelling out the name every time." That would probably get annoying. And it kind of broke up the ability to make the words flow properly. Or, at least, that was how Maia felt about the entire thing.
"Is that something that DATS does?" Well, it was about time to let it slip that Maia was essentially clueless to the organization's agenda, aside from cover ups. It made sense. To avoid the public knowing about Digimon, they would have to stop them somehow, right? "I'm hoping that doesn't mean this is a frequent occurrence." The more Digimon appearing in the human world, the worse off the place probably be, honestly. It was hard enough to cover up her own monster, let alone the ones running around with ill intent!

"It's happens more often then I would like to admit." Megan answered with a sigh. It looked like this girl didn't really knew much about DATS. Perhaps Megan should clarify their role to her in order to prevent possible confusion from happening later on.
"Out of curiosity. How much do you actually know about DATS? I remember that you mentioned something about us being the ones that cover up Digimon incidents, but do you know anything else about our organization?"

That wasn't really an answer that Maia was hoping for. It would seem that Digimon caused more problems for humans than the tamer knew about. Or, would they cover up the little, harmless ones, too? A certain Impmon came to mind at this thought, and she had to wonder what DATS would do if they knew about Dust frequently wandering the human world. Perhaps, being friendly, nothing would actually be done. It was hard to say, considering the girl's knowledge of the organization was severely lacking!
And, with the question posed on the subject, it came time to be honest about the information she knew. "Completely honest, I don't know anything about DATS beyond that." While Maia would like to feel like a more seasoned tamer than this, she couldn't deny that she really only knew what she was learning through experiences. And, DATS wasn't much of an experience that she had to deal with, as of yet. But, that may be a good thing.

((Sorry to keep you waiting.))
Megan gave a small sigh after Maia gave her answer. "I expected as much. Really would suggest we fund a PR campaign if that didn't ruin part of the reason we exist."
Megan took the next few seconds to gather her thoughts to figure out how to best describe what DATS truly was to the tamer and her digimon. A task more simply said then done given the number of functions DATS seemed to truly served. She wasn't the only one though as Kami also took the opportunity to gather his thoughts. He knew full well she would probably ask for his help during her description.
"I think the best way to describe DATS would be to say we are a police force of sorts. One charged with protecting Humans and Digimon in the Human World. This includes fighting malicious digimon that enter our world, and yes, keeping the existence of digimon a secret from the general populace. Yet that's just two of the more popularly known functions our organisation does. That, and being the ones who are sent to investigate whenever something digital world related is going on on our end of the portal." Megan explained. Giving Maia a second to ask any questions before deciding whether she should continue or.
