For some reason, Kami's response failed to settle the tamer's mind. Not that it was hard to stress her out, after all, but now she had to figure out what to do if she was outed. Though, she didn't necessarily have to forfeit the statement that there was a Digimon in her purse. In fact, Kuu had remained conveniently quiet throughout this entire thing. Was he asleep or something?
Maia wouldn't deny that the questions were becoming harder to play stupid with incredibly quickly. What was she going to do? She couldn't really just excuse herself, suddenly. That would be suspicious! An answer implying that she honestly didn't know didn't sit right with her. After all, if she was caught in a lie, it would only make things worse. "Just some events here and there," she tried to brush it off, "Japan is a weird place. Kind of inspires you to try new things." Inspires? Or forces? After all, getting a Digimon wasn't really something that was offered to her. It wasn't like someone trying to give her a puppy. No, it just kind of showed up one day and didn't ever leave. At this point, though, the tamer would admit that she didn't really want her pet to leave. It wasn't a lie, though, that she was determined that this entire thing wouldn't have happened if she hadn't moved to Japan.
"In a way, a couple friends encouraged me to draw those." Encouraged seemed like a good word. After all, she wouldn't have had the inspiration or knowledge to draw them if they weren't real. Still, despite not directly lying, she was starting to feel a knot form in her stomach. "I'm glad you're interested in the drawings." Okay, it was about time to get to the point. After all, she'd rather call it than be the one called out, "but, I get the feeling you're looking for a different answer than I've given. Am I wrong?"

Well then. A response like that more or less proves Megan's suspicions. This girl had definitely had contact with digimon before. Yet it appeared that Megan's questions got Maia a little peeved. Megan could understand why though. She probably would be too if someone tried to do the same thing on her.
"Maia? Please forgive Megan. Could you just answer me this one question? Does the term Digital Monster mean anything to you?" Kami asked having grown tired of Megan's questions as well. Though he did specifically used the term Digital Monster in case Maia truly was ignorant about the origins of the creatures she drew about.
Megan eyes glanced away from the two with some hints of regret before refocusing on Maia. "Just so you know. You do not have to answer if you don't want to. We are just curious is all."

"It's fine, she quickly responded to Kami's request to forgive his friend. After all, she wasn't mad. She wouldn't deny that she'd have been curious too. Maybe, Megan thought this was the best way to subtly bring up the subject? In this situation, she wasn't entirely sure how she would have handled it if the tables were turned. One could never really be too safe, considering the subject.
Eyes slowly shifted to her purse, again, debating on what she wanted to say. Reaching beside it, she grabbed her drink and put the cup to her lips. For a moment, she seemed to just consider how to respond. After all, they weren't really being intimidating about it. Heck, the offer was even there to just not answer. But, she also didn't really want to offend them. If everything went well with her response, then she'd still have potential to have a couple extra friends. If not? Well... Maia wasn't entirely sure what would happen.
Finally, she placed the cup back on the table, before lifting her hands up to sign, "it may have some meaning. It's weird being the one asked about it, though." After all, most of her encounters involved her knowing the other person's stance on it, first. "Mind if I ask how you would know about them?"

Megan paused to think for a second on how exactly to respond. It seemed that neither of them were willing to give a direct answer just yet. Maybe Maia just didn't trust Megan and Kami enough to give them a direct answer. It's not like Megan could blame her for that. She had given Maia little reason to trust them.
"Let's just say for now that we've had our fair share of experiences with them." Megan decided to say, "And I take it from your response that the same is for you as well."
Kami sighed as he stood up. He had grown tired of these games. "Can we stop with all this suspicious junk already? It's not getting us anywhere. Instead I know of a closed down store in one of the less populated parts of the mall. Maybe there we can discuss things more openly. Or at very least without the whole interrogating each other thing on here." Kami told them as he began walking away. Intent on leading the two girls to said abandoned store.

As Maia was about to respond to Megan, Kami had made a decision to stop all of this silliness. Eyes lowered, briefly, debating on if she was just going to end up walking into a trap with all of this. It was possible. Considering that she really wanted to like the two, she would give them the benefit of the doubt. Picking up her coffee again, she lightly pulled on her purse's strap before actually lifting it, giving the creature inside a warning that there would be some movement. It was only polite.
Now, hopefully, Kuu wasn't actually sleeping, because being moved around would surely jostle him out of his dreams.
"Sorry," she apologized, for what felt like too many times for their conversation. This time, it was for a lot of things. Like being dodgy about the subject that was brought up, despite the low chance of anyone else being able to eavesdrop. Or for potentially upsetting Kami. After all, neither of the two seemed particularly unfriendly. With that, the tamer stood up and followed the boy. What was the worst that could really happen?

Megan stood up soon after Maia did and began following Kami as well. She wished she knew for certain what exactly the disguised Kamemon was planning. All she could really think of is him revealing his true form to Maia once they are alone. Something that she couldn't fully approve of. It just seemed to reckless a move to pull off.
They would find out soon enough though as they approached the place Kami talked about. Sure enough, as Kami had mentioned, this section of the mall seemed pretty much abandoned. With most of the stores there closed down. Kami would then lead them to a one such store whose entrance appeared to be blocked by a locked metal shutter like all the others. This proved not to be the case however as once Kami was sure the coast was clear, he opened the shutters just high enough for the girls to get in before slipping in himself.
Inside they would find themselves in what appeared to be a small, empty store. Desolate shelves were the only thing that filled the store. The layers of dust showing just how long they had laid dorment. The only other thing of note here was the dim lights that shined above. They weren't as bright as the other ones inside the mall, but it was still enough for all those inside to see cleary.
"We should have no fear of any eavesdroppers in here. We should count ourselves lucky that nobody else has noticed that this place is still unlock. Oh... And just so you know. This place doesn't have any cameras either. I checked pretty throughly when I discovered this area." Kami signed as he turned towards the two.
"So then. I guess it's time to get down to business. Now as Megan had told you back in the food court. Me and Megan..."
"Megan and I" Megan corrected much to Kami's chagrin.
"Megan and I have had many experiences dealing with digimon. That includes meeting a number of humans who happen to have some connection to digimon like you. To be quite blunt. We're actually a part of an organization whose job is to help protect our world from rouge digimon attacks among other things.
"What I'm basically saying is that you can trust us when it comes to digimon. We don't wish you any harm. Though I would like to believe you believe that as well seeing how you decided to follow me all the way in here." Kami explained hoping that Maia would now open up to them.

Watching Kami's words, Maia established that this was someplace that he must have been to multiple times. Maybe, that wasn't a good sign. After all, going someplace that was unfamiliar to her and not anyone else only made it more possible to be a trap. But, she still clung to some hope that it wasn't one. She tried to throw glances around the empty store, while still reading the boy's signs. It didn't look like the room was overly used, so that was a good sign.
An organization? Was that the group that Kai had mentioned? Ah, what was it? DATS? "Is that the group that covers up Digital Monster related incidents?" She didn't know a sign for 'Digimon', let alone one that would translate to the other two, so she simply used the lengthened version. Still, that would imply that she may have heard of their organization. Hopefully, they wouldn't assume she knew any more than what she had asked. It was literally the extent of her knowledge on it.
Still, the boy was spot-on with the thought that she at least wanted to trust them. There was a sigh, as she crossed her arms. Kami said there were no cameras. She had to trust that. But, there was still some hesitation. Finally, she shifted to mess with her purse, murmuring a, "Kuu, are you awake?" Before reaching into the bag. With a small groan, a half asleep pipefox crawled halfway onto her hand, letting her pull him from the purse.
Once outside of the purse, the Digimon sleepily blinked toward Megan, then at Kami, ears slowly twitching as he was processing the situation. Why was everyone so quiet? Did they do the hand-thing that Maia did, too? Regardless, the Rookie seemed too out of it to have many thoughts on the situation, as his tamer brought him up to plop onto her shoulder. Once there, he sniffed the air for a moment, before his eyes grew wide, "people!" he squeaked, looking between his tamer and the strangers. One of them had an odd scent, almost as if he rolled around with a Digimon, but the little fox was completely oblivious to what this meant. "Why are we in a creepy room? What's going on? Who're you?" Oh, Maia almost forgot. The Kudamon almost never shut up. Maybe she should have let him sleep.
"This is K-U-U. Kuu," she signed, adding in a personal gesture for the Digimon. Sure, he couldn't sign because of his lack of proper fingers, but he was quick to catch on to the 'language,' so she was at least able to have a one-sided conversation with the monster. "He's my friend." The girl's eyes shifted, to look at Kuu, as he stared down at her hands, before looking at the strangers. "I hope you can understand why I was nervous answer your questions now."

((Sorry for the wait. I kind of don't have much of an excuse for it other then the fact that I've just became very, very lazy for the past few weeks. Something that I hope to rectify now.))
"Among other things." Megan responded nervously in sign. She's well aware that DATS kind of has a mixed reputation. Not everyone agrees with what DATS does. She herself doesn't entirely agree with their methods, but she still believes they are doing what they can to help people out.
Her attention was then pulled to Maia's purse as she spoke to it. Or was it more correct to something inside the purse as a fox-like digimon soon popped out of the purse and onto Maia's shoulder. It appeared to be slightly shocked to find themselves in the room they were in, and with two strangers no less.
"He definitely is a talkative one." Megan commented out loud to Kuu's questions, "I'm Megan, and this is Kami." She then added in both speech and in sign.
Kami gave a small wave as Megan introduced him to the Kudamon before holding up a finger to indicate for the group to just wait a second. He then messed around with a watch on his wrist as his whole body began to glow slightly. The hologram soon dissipated to reveal Kami's true form.
"As Megan said. My name is Kami. It's nice to officially meet you both." He signed to the pair now that he was in his Kamemon form. Megan interpreting for him just in case Kuu happened to not understand sign himself.

((Nah, you're fine!))
The little fox's ears twitched, tilting his head, "I like words," he stated in a very flat tone. With a few more minutes of waking up and hearing introductions, the Kudamon chirped a, "hi! I'm Kuu! But, Maia already told you! So I'm just repeating things!" Well, at least he knew that he was repetitive. And, overall, kind of annoying. But, it was alright. But, it also demonstrated that he could at least catch part of the conversation! The part about him!
"Oh, yes," Maia confirmed, aloud. "He does this all day, every day."
Glancing at his tamer, he shook his head, "no! I also eat stuff! I can't talk while I'm eating stuff!" Oh, but he tried, and that's what mattered. Talk about food going everywhere!
But, when it came to the hologram dropping, Maia and Kuu both looked very alarmed to see a turtle-like Digimon in front of them! Maia at least tried to hide her surprise, in an attempt to be polite, but Kuu was busy staring with his jaw dropped. If he wasn't awake before, he sure was now! "I thought I sniffed something! How'd you do that? I want to look like a people?" And then, the fox went on a ramble about how amazing that would be.
"I have to admit, I'm surprised," she signed to Kami. "But, it's nice to meet you, all the same."
To that, the Kudamon nodded, cutting out from his ramble to blurt, "yes! Nice to meet you! Did you know that you're a turtle? Also, I don't need a translator," he added to the end, but lifted a paw, clumsily. "I do if he can't read my mouth, though. These paws cannot do the signs!"

It appeared neither of these two have seen a holosuit before. Not exactly what either Kami or Megan had expected. Maybe that meant Maia and Kuu weren't as experience as Megan and Kami had first thought. Not that that was much of a problem.
Megan interpreted what the Kudamon said for Kami so he would understand. "You can understand ASL as well. That's awesome. What luck to meet two people who can understand ASL on the same day? And not only that, but they are also know about digimon as well?" Kami signed cheerfully.
"Also. Just so you know Kuu. Just because I'm deaf doesn't mean I can read lips. Well I can on some small level. Though it's for an entirely different reason and isn't as accurate as it is in the movies. I can only get bits and pieces that I have to help me guess what your saying." Kami added before pausing, "Sorry I got a bit off topic there. What I was basically saying is that it's not polite to assume that someone deaf like me can read lips? Especially on the level that TV makes people think is possible."
"So changing the subject real quick. Do you mind telling me how exactly you found this place Kami?" Megan asked. A dark look in her eyes as the question had obviously been nagging her since Kami first mentioned it.
"I get bored when your at school, and was trying to find that one abandoned store were at. You know. The one where I first evolved into a Kamemon all that time ago. Turns out it's a shoe store now apparently. Anyways while I was looking for it, I happened to notice that this place wasn't locked up properly. So I decided to check it. Just in case we needed a private place to hide or something." Kami explained as he fumbled over his signs. Megan sighed at Kami's explanation.
"I wish you wouldn't do stuff like that by yourself. What if something were to happen?" She did have to admit though. This place did end up proving useful.
"Yeah... I understand." Kami then turned to face the other two, "Now that we have all that out of the way. Is there anything you two want to ask us about. I'm sure you both have plenty of questions of your own that you would like answered."[/i]

"I know," the fox chirped, reading Kami's signs. It was really weird having conversations with other people like this! He just thought Maia was weird! "I don't know polite, though!" At least he knew that! Or, was it actually that he didn't know what the word was? Ah, it was hard to tell with the Kudamon some days!
It wasn't like teaching Kuu manners was working very well, anyway. Maia had already tried to explain this to him before, but it was to no use. It seemed the rookie was just dense as could be. At least he tried to be friendly about all of it! Though, it sure seemed like he found a way to offend just about everyone at some point in their conversations. Maybe this was why Maia was never keen on introducing him to people! That and, well, she really couldn't unless they knew about Digimon.
Maia was trying not to eavesdrop too much on the explanation that was given to explain why they knew of this place. So Megan didn't know about it, either? That was a little relieving, at least. Wait! She was trying not to watch! Not that it was really a personal conversation.
Kuu was first to jump on the 'question' time, with a, "do you like snacks? I like snacks. Can we get snacks?" Luckily, it seemed that his tamer had learned a strange mute button of-sorts on the fox, which was soon implemented. With a soft poke to the tip of his nose, the little alien stopped questioning everything and stuck out his tongue, making a "bluh," sound effect.
"We don't actually have too many questions." Maia answered, properly. But, what kind of question would she even want to ask? She had essentially played fifty questions with Kai when she'd received Kuu. "How did you two meet? Do you mind if I ask that?"

Kami couldn't help, but wonder what exactly Kuu was saying. What did Kuu mean by he didn't knew polite? Kami doubted it was a translation error on Megan's part. So should he take the statement at face value. That would mean that Kuu knowingly doesn't have any manners, which could end up making this nice chat into an ordeal.
The deaf Kamemon was tempted to question Kuu about this after Maia quieted him down, but decided not it. It didn't seem often that the Kudamon becomes silent like this. No need to spoil it just for his curiosity. Especially not when the two tamers seemed to be in a middle of a chat.
"That... Was a bit more of a personal question then I thought you would ask?" Megan replied showing hints of uncertainty in her signs. She then took a second to think about things before coming to a decision that she hoped would work.
"How about this? I'll tell you how Kami and I met. Yet after that you must tell me how you and little Kuu over there met in return. Does that sound fair to you?"

Oh, it was great that nobody continued to talk to the fox. Soon, he was busy trying to lick his own nose, and off into his own little world. Kuu really didn't come off as particularly bright, most of the time. The other times, though, had led his tamer to wonder how much he actually knew about the world. But, there was no way the rookie was smart! Except, he might actually be.
"Sorry. I'm more interested in you two," Maia admitted, making an awkward smile. It could be pretty personal, thinking about it. But, aside from directly questioning about DATS, she couldn't think of any other questions to have!
With the offer of an exchange of stories, Kuu began nodding rapidly, but was still busy seeing how much of his face he could reach with his tongue. At least he wasn't trying to lick anyone else. "Sounds fine to me," the tamer agreed. After all, she had nothing to hide about the Kudamon to other tamers. Right?

A slight smile grew on Megan's face as Maia agreed to her condition. It was nice to see that Maia didn't have any protests about her condition. It seemed only fair that if she should share her story, that Maia would share her's as well.
Megan then found a seat as she began to think back. How exactly did she and Kami meet again?
"To be quite honest. This was quite some time ago, and I don't remember all the details. Though I'll try to tell you as much as I can." Megan explained before beginning her story.
"It was night. I want to say I was in bed after a hard day at school when I was awoken by a bizarre text message. It was someone asking asking for help along with some coordinates. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have decided to head that way as blindly as I did. I had no idea who sent the text message at the time, and there was a good chance it could have been some type of trap. Yet that wasn't on my mind when I decided to leave. All that did matter to me was that someone was asking for my help, and I wasn't just going to abandon them.
"So I followed the coordinates into the nearby woods. All that time my phone was beginning to glitch up and get all static as I got closer to my destination. Then, right before my eyes, my phone began to change as something began to manifest itself. You wouldn't believe the look on my face when I saw an huge egg appear out of nowhere. I had no clue what was going on, and a part of me wonder if I should just leave the egg there. That was when things got even odder...
"So before I continue. Do you know what a Spirit User is by any chance?" She decided to ask. Trying to figure out if an explanation for what happened next was needed or not.

So far, Megan's story was certainly putting Kuu's to shame! Still, Maia watched with interest. It seemed like everyone had a different story to how they found their monsters. Still, someone had texted the other tamer? That put things into an odd thought. Who went through all the effort to bring people to their partners, or vice versa? Sure, she had wondered this before, but now that another person had brought up the need of an outside source for a connection, it was ever so curious!
Now, a question was posed, bringing the blonde out of her thoughts. "Yes, I've met Spirit Users." At least that was something that didn't require too much explanation, then!
